Coins are important evidence which cannot be easily challenged because it bears the date of minting, as well as the minted place (for silver). The coins in Iraq, at the beginning of Islam, included some names of princes; and the Umayyad coins did not include names of any successor or prince, as well as the Abbasid coins were the same as the Umayyad coins; but it changed at the time of the second Abbasid Caliph (al-Mansur) 136-158 AH. As well, the silver dirham included the name of the Prince of Caliph al-Mansur, therefore the words (the Mahdi Mohammed, Commander of the Faithful) appeared, especially on Mohammedia dirham in Iran since the Year 145/762. Bay Salam is a type of forward contract between two parties to sell or buy a commodity set at agreed terms and conditions on a future date. The Bay Salam contract is beneficial for both buyer and seller because the seller receives full payment in advance while the buyer pays at a favourable price. Despite its benefits to farmers and vendors, this mode of financing is widely available. Therefore, this article aims to explore the concept of the Bay Salam contract and its potential application in financing the agricultural sector in contemporary banking system. This research adopts a qualitative approach by critically reviewing the literature and conducting semi-structured interviews with seven financial and agricultural experts in Nigeria using purposive sampling method. Findings show that Bay Salam is largely unpopular in modern days due to high level of risk and management responsibilities required for the financier. The novelty of this paper lies in the proposed model which combines the concept of Bay Salam and Takaful.

Islamic economics has different principles from conventional economics, including in terms of sales contracts. In Islamic economics, there are several types of sales contracts used, such as bai' al-salam (future sales) and bai’ al-salam(manufacturing sales). Trust sales contracts are also important in ensuring transparency of the price of the goods or services sold. The research method uses descriptive qualitative in describing and explaining specifically with literature studies in data collection. The purpose of this research is to find out specifically about the types and qualifications of sharia sales that do not contain gharar and usury. In Islamic economics, payments in sales contracts can be deferred or paid in installments without involving interest or riba. This allows the buyer to pay according to an agreed schedule. Sales contracts in the Islamic economy differ from interest-bearing loan contracts, where there is an exchange of goods or services at a predetermined price. Islamic banks use sales contracts as a legitimate alternative to interest-bearing loan contracts, allowing them to provide financing that is fair and compliant with sharia principles. In the Islamic economy, there are also contracts for the sale of future commodities (salam), the sale of manufacturing (istisna'), and currency exchange (sarf). Islamic banks have an important role to play in facilitating these sales contracts, as intermediaries who ensure the contracts adhere to Shariah principles and meet applicable legal requirements. With a good understanding of the different types of these sales contracts, economic actors can choose the ones that suit their needs while complying with sharia principles.

(The practice of buying and selling a second-hand motorbike in the village of tamberu laok is not in harmony with the principle of Salam contract, in view of the heavy complaints of customers as aggrieved sides. The phenomenon, therefore, is an interesting issue for research on the basis of scientific methodologies filleted with terms of the fiqh muamalah. Using methods of interviews, this type of field research defined two issues that are subject of study; the first is about the sale of a second-hand motorcycle in the village of Tamberu Laok, kec. Sokobanah, kab Sampang, and the second is how the elaboration or viewpoint of Salam contract towards of the second-hand motorcycle sales transactions. The writer's findings can be seen in two respects, first, in the purchase of second-hand motorcycles, the buyer orders to the merchant and previously pays the half price. Secondly, in the practice of the transaction, there was a inconsistency with the Salam contract. That inconsistency can be seen when the order item is not suitable with the first request, the transaction will go on and there is no annulment).

Aims: Cultivation of flower crops increases the income of the farmer through diversification of farm and improve their livelihood. The present study aims to analyse the marketing behavior of farm youth and constraints experienced by them in chrysanthemum cultivation. Study Design: Ex-post facto research design was employed in the study. Place and Duration of Study: The study was carried out in Salem district of Tamil Nadu during 2021. Methodology: Salem district of Tamil Nadu was purposively selected as it has highest area under chrysanthemum cultivation. To achieve the objectives of the study, the data was gathered from the 120 young chrysanthemum growers from twelve villages of Salem district. The young chrysanthemum growers were randomly selected and the data has been gathered through personal interview method. The collected data has been tabulated and analyzed with suitable statistical tools like percentage analysis, cumulative frequency and mean score were employed. Results: The findings revealed that chrysanthemum growers sell flowers as soon as it’s harvested (80%) through marketing channel – B (Farmer – Commission agent - Market). They fix price based on demand for the produce (50%) and sell in the nearby market within 5 km (43.33%) based on the market information obtained from relatives and friends (56.67%) with the help of truck (39.17%). While marketing farmer’s spent less on transport (55%) and got paid immediately after sale (60%) with cash (100%). Thus, it was found that nearly three-fourth of the young chrysanthemum growers had medium level of marketing behaviour (86.67%) and high commission charges (Mean score of 2.76) was the severe problematic constraint and problem of irrigation (Mean score of 1.80) was the least problematic constraint experienced by them. Conclusion: Most of the farmers cultivate flower crops due to its high value and ensure reasonable price for the farmers. Since farmers are facing difficulties to continue agriculture because of reduced income and difficulties in marketing, they should be engaged in floriculture sector to increase their income. The untapped potential of the floriculture sector draw youth towards agriculture and ensures providing remunerative price to the small and marginal farmers involved in flower cultivation. Apart from providing income security to farmers, cultivation of flower crops ensures improves the livelihood of farmers by increasing their income.

The present study examined the supply-price response of poultry products. The objectives of the study are (i) to work out the economics of production of layer and broiler farming and (ii) to analyse the supply-price response of poultry products. In order to fulfil the objectives, 50 layer farms and 50 broiler farms in Salem district of Tamil Nadu were selected randomly and studied. Time-series data on supply of egg and poultry meat, price of egg and chicken were collected for the district from 1971-1990 and analysed. Cobb-Douglas type of function was employed to analyse the supply-price response of poultry products. It is evident from the study that the production of layer was economically profitable than the broiler production. Price of egg significantly influenced the egg supply. The egg supply was price elastic and supported the neo-classical theory of supply. Similarly, the broiler supply is also own-price elastic and significantly influenced by price of broiler. It is lucid from the study that the joint product clasticity of poultry products was positive and elastic. Enough efforts must be made to fix remunerative prices of poultry products as it will hasten the growth and development of poultry sector.

The Yamaha Surya Inti Putra Pekalongan dealer is one of the dealers in Pekalongan who sells motorcycles with a pivot system. The pivot system is a purchase order system with a pre-determined price for the specifications in question and usually carried out within a certain period of time. Indent system if in Islamic law can be equated with buying and selling greetings. However, in the motorcycle pivot system that occurs at the Yamaha Surya Inti Putra Pekalongan dealer, the motorcycle is often not in accordance with the agreement promised by the dealer because in general the motorcycle arrives more than the agreed time, when the goods ordered do not match the agreed time. So based on the Ba'i As-Salam theory, it is contrary to one of the legal conditions in buying and selling, where the goods ordered must have clarity when it arrives. Based on these problems, the authors are interested in knowing why there is a delay in the delivery of motorbikes and how to analyze the Ba'i As-Salam theory on the practice of buying and selling motorbikes with a pivot system at the Yamaha Surya Inti Putra dealer in Pekalongan. Based on the results of the author's research, this study found two conclusions, namely the first regarding the factor of delay in motorbike delivery, it was caused by production capacity, unit allocation, and certain specifications. While the second concerns the terms of salam that have not been fulfilled by dealers in the practice of buying and selling salam, namely the promised time for delivery of goods because the pivot system does not provide certainty. The reason for the time delay experienced by the Yamaha Surya Inti Pura Pekalongan dealer is included in the category of reasons allowed by sharia because there was no deliberate factor on the part of the dealer.

Currently, economic activity has begun to develop and transform into digitalization. So it is necessary to synchronize between Islamic law in the Al-Qur'an and Hadith. Are the laws in the Qur'an and hadith still relevant to today's all-digital muamalah activities because they are very much needed to meet the needs and desires of humans on earth. From several qawaid fhiqiyah literature reviews, that buying and selling with a dropshipping system has similarities to buying and selling using a salam contract (parallel salam contract) and a wakalah contract. The two contracts are interrelated in buying and selling with a dropshipping system. And buying and selling with the dropshipping system is permissible in Islam. Namely in the salam contract which occurs in cases of ownership and existence of the goods to be sold. In the dropshipping system, the seller (dropshipper) does not own and there are no goods (existence of goods) on his side. When the wakalah contract also has "loopholes" that are not in accordance with sharia. Whereas the wakalah requirement is that the price or sales profit is in the hands of the supplier (muwakkil). However, in practice, dropshippers can determine prices and take profits without prior agreement with suppliers.

Data from a survey of North Carolina independent garden center customers in Fall 1996 were used to determine the price responsiveness of mums and pansies. A survey was conducted of four garden centers in the Raleigh, N.C., area and four garden centers operating in the Triad marketing area (Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and High Point, N.C.). Information collected on 1608 consumers included various socioeconomic and demographic variables (age, value of residence, type of residence, number of years in the residence, housing tenure, and employment status) as well as plant purchase information (plant price, plant types, and plant sizes). Price responsiveness of consumers was estimated by analyzing how customers' responses change as prices varied from one store to another and from one location to another. Measures of price responsiveness indicated statistically significant price elasticities of demand of -0.76 for mums and -0.80 for pansies. These elasticities can be used to indicate how industry sales would respond to a change to the industry that affects all firms in the same way—such as the response to an increase in energy costs. The paper shows how to use the elasticities to develop particular pricing strategies under different circumstances facing firms in the industry.

This research discusses buying and selling greetings in the context of online trading activities in Indonesia. Buying and selling greetings is a sale and purchase contract allowed in Islam, where the buyer orders goods with agreed criteria and pays in cash when the contract is executed. In buying and selling greetings, there is no element of deception or gharar (uncertainty) involved. This research uses a phenomenological approach with qualitative descriptive research methods of literature. The data used is obtained from books, journals, and texts related to buying and selling online in the marketplace. The article also discusses the contract of salam in a sharia perspective such as the rule of al-Masyaqqah Tajlibu At-Taisir, namely difficulties will encourage convenience, such as transactions using online applications, where salam is the sale and purchase of goods mentioned in nature in dependents with payments made right away. The greeting agreement may be deferred until a certain time and payment can be made in cash. In the greeting contract, there is a delivery of goods at a later date with the price, specifications, quantity, quality, date, and place of delivery that has been agreed before.

During the farmers and scientist conference conducted at KVK, Sandhiyur (2013), the growers opted for new varieties (high yield, lengthy fruit, good pungency, and colour retention during storage). An onfarm trial was conducted in pannavadi village of kolathur block. In this study three varieties (Lalima, LCA 625 and Kovilpatti 2) were assessed for yield, pest disease tolerance and quality parameters. LCA 625 gave an average yield of 6.2-6.8 t / ha, fruit length of 9-11 cm, good pungency and good colour retention during storage compared to other two varieties. The colour of dry chilli during storage was orange compared to Lalima with bright attractive red colour. Hence in the market Lalima fetched more price than the other two varieties. Hence, it is suggested for the Researchers that LCA 625 may be refined for marketable colour.

Osteopontin (OPN) is an acidic phosphorylated glycoprotein found in many tissues and physiological fluids. Bovine OPN is a mature protein comprising 262 amino acids with a calculated molecular weight of 29 kDa. However, SDS-PAGE analysis reveals that the protein isolated from milk migrates to a molecular mass of 60 kDa (Sørensen & Petersen, 1993; Bayless et al. 1997). Bovine milk OPN is phosphorylated at 27 serine residues and one threonine residue (Sorensen et al. 1995); three O-glycosylated threonines were also identified, but no asparagine residues were glycosylated in spite of the presence of three putative N-glycosylation sites. In contrast, eight phosphates are recognized in bovine bone OPN (Salih et al. 1996), and 12 phosphoserines and one phosphothreonine are proposed in addition to five O-linked oligosaccharides and at most one N-linked oligosaccharide in the case of rat bone OPN (Prince et al. 1987). Thus, the possibility of tissue or species-specific differences in post-translational modification has been discussed.

Abstract: The practice of Dropshipping & reselling, is a new concept in Islamic law. Dropshipping is a product sale that allows sellers to sell their products to customers with an image based on the owner of the goods (supplier) without having to stock up on goods and sell to customers at a specified price. So, in this case the seller is an active actor to find customers. Meanwhile, reselling is a term that is also used to describe a marketing or sales system for a product that involves three parties, namely the owner of the goods, the buyer and the reseller. This type of research uses a literature study approach, using a qualitative narrative method. The results of this study can show that buying and selling with a dropship and reseller system does not violate sharia provisions. Even though the parties do not have the goods and the capital is only the specifications, Islamic law allows this kind of contract. The contract can be as a simsarah or broker, it can also be a salam contract (order). However, if it is planned with a salam contract, it must fulfill several conditions, among others: what is sold is not the other but the specifications, the goods are not delivered at the time of the contract, there is a time limit for the delivery of the goods and the place of delivery of the goods is clear.

The production of underexploited small fish species has surpassed that of bigger and more valuable species, such as Oreochromis species. However, profitability and efficiency of the key players in the marketing chain and system associated with these small fish species are yet to be understood. Therefore, this article aims to analyze the profitability and efficiency of Diplotaxodon spp. (an example of a small fish species) fish marketing systems in Malawi. The analysis was based on data collected in 2019 through field surveys from 265 respondents, which included fishers, processors, wholesalers, and retailers. Gross margin, return on capital employed (ROCE), and the Acharya and Agarwal’s market efficiency index were used in our empirical strategy. The results reveal that Diplotaxodon spp. trading was profitable to all actors. Firm-level efficiency showed that all actors used their capital efficiently, except for fishers, who had lowest return on capital employed, while retailers had the highest return on capital employed. All marketing channels identified were inefficient, due to high marketing margins and low fisher’s share of the consumer price, attributed to high transportation cost. The study concludes that, unless efforts are taken to improve efficiency of Ndunduma marketing system, through improving marketing margins and fisher’s share of consumer price, Diplotaxodon spp. will continue to be under-exploited, thereby sustaining or exacerbating the fish supply gap.

Purpose In societies with strong presence of Islam, Islamic instruments with more scope for fairness and equity can be innovatively harnessed to play an increasing role in the development process and poverty alleviation schemes. Poor smallholder farmers dominate agricultural production in many developing countries and contribute a significant portion of global food production. This paper aims to develop a scheme to improve poor smallholder farmers’ vulnerable financial situation through the application of Zakah and Salam contract, using Bangladesh as a case study. Secondary goals are to show the effect of the scheme on food security and relevance to Nigeria. Design/methodology/approach The authors explore the existing traditional modes of financing available to poor smallholders, identify their challenges and propose an appropriate Islamic financing scheme. Findings With the Zakah-based Salam forward contract, the proposed scheme would procure food through Institutional Demand to offer interest free financing, fair price and access to new marketing channels and reduce income uncertainty for the rural smallholders. The discussions indicate that the local food security will be enhanced through incentivized farming activities and disbursement of food from the food bank to the Zakah-eligible food insecure local people. Research limitations/implications This proposal brings forth a potentially powerful idea that needs further empirical validation. Originality/value The religion-based Institutional Demand initiative to promote smallholder agricultural development and social protection is a novel one. The attempt to apply the framework to Nigeria context shows the potential of the framework to generalize for other Muslim developing countries with similar characteristics, especially the poorer agriculture-based countries.

This study was intended to explain the dropshipping in the Islamic perspektif.. This method of research is done by reading reference books, journals and other media related to dropshipping. This studies show that dropshipping is a product sale that allows the dropshipper to sell goods to customers by thinking about supplier’s photos or the supplier’s store without having to shovel and sell to customers at a price determined by the dropshipper. Doing Islamic trafficking has illustrated good and proper ordinances so that there’s no harm among humans in making transactions. The legal basis for selling and selling is found in several verses in the Qur’an among them Qs. al-Baqarah:275, Qs. al-Baqarah: 282, Qs. an-Nisa’: 24. Islam allows the dropshipping system to use akad salam, that would be the buying of the goods submitted later on, while the payment was made earlier.

Marketing strategy is an essential component of any business operation. Whether a business is successful depends on whether its marketing strategy is effective for its needs. Therefore, the selection of a marketing strategy requires precise calculations and analysis. According to the title observed, the method used in this study is a qualitative research method that generates descriptive data through observations, interviews, and documentaries. Cordova Living is a housing community that employs a sharia payment system, eliminating the BI checking system so that there are no interest, usury, confiscation, or fines. Based on the fact that Cordova Living was the pioneer of sharia-compliant housing in Tasikmalaya, the sharia marketing strategy is a great fit for marketing its products. As evidenced by the marketing mix, implementing sharia marketing strategies can increase sales figures and the selling value of Cordova Living housing. In terms of price (price) has advantages for consumers to negotiate because of the khiyar rights. In terms of products, transparency from start to finish, detailed explanations, and the freedom to bargain and negotiate can eliminate the element of fraud. The strategic place (location) close to the city center and education center provides added value for Cordova Living. The promotion (promotion) used by Cordova Living is friendly and applies 3S (senyum/smiles, salam/greetings, and sapa/greetings) and friendly service by applying Islamic rules.

An online survey was developed to investigate Master Gardener perceptions of and preferences for a novel horticultural product, “Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Living Structures Kits,” which include live willow (Salix sp.) stems, instructions on how to build various forms, ties, and cultural guidelines. The survey consisted of 37 items to assess the interest level in this product, to examine the likelihood of consumers’ interest in purchasing this product, and to evaluate preferred designs and potential price points. A total of 249 Connecticut Master Gardeners completed the survey. The respondents provided valuable insights on product popularity and potential. The majority of them were between the ages of 56 and 65 years, female, Caucasian, married, without children in the household, and own a house with a yard in suburban areas. Most of the respondents represented plant purchasers and experienced gardeners. The two most popular structures were the decorative fence and the arbor, and Master Gardeners indicated specific preferred price ranges for the products. Aesthetic appeal was perceived as the main attractive aspect of the product. Among the major factors affecting their decision to purchase DIY Living Structures Kits, most respondents indicated design/type and price as “very important.” Forty-four percent of people were interested in buying one of these kits as a gift for someone. Results revealed that there is potential for a niche market as this group of consumers was enthusiastic about the new product: 74.1% of Master Gardeners responded positively that DIY Living Structures Kits have potential to become new horticultural products. More in-depth product evaluation studies using trial kits and marketing research targeting additional segments of consumers should be conducted in future.

This investigation was done in the laboratory of college of agricultural engineering sciences – University of Duhok to study some wood-charcoal quality produced from some local wood species in Kurdistan region Iraq. In market, the quality of wood charcoal produced from tree species is varied due to divers’ anatomical structure and carbonizing temperature process. As a consequence, understanding the factors controlling the quality of wood charcoal is an important issue for both producers (sellers) and consumers (buyers). In most charcoal factories, wood charcoal are produced without determining of their quality whereas each quality of wood charcoal has its own properties, price and uses. The quality of charcoal made from some selected local wood species (Quercus aegilops, Salix alba, Malus domestica, and Populus alba) were evaluated. The woods species were collected from Zaxo district of Duhok province and were transformed into wood-charcoal using a steel kiln for pyrolysis. The analysis of physical and chemicals such moisture content percentage [MCP] , volatile matter percentage [VMP] , ash content percentage [ACP] and fixed carbon percentage [FCP], of the produced wood-charcoal were proximately resolved using the (ASTM D3176 – 15) method. The results showed, for the first time on all around the Kurdistan region of Iraq, the quality of wood charcoal produced from these wood species. The highest value off moisture content (2.375%) was with Malus domisteca as compared with Populus alba which was (1.000%), highest volatile matter (21.125%) was with Quercus aegilpops compared with Populus alba (4.125%), high ash content recorded (4.875%) with Quercus aegilpops compared with Salix alba (2.250%) and the fixed carbon was greater value in Populus alba which was (92.125%) compared with Quercus aegilpops (72.875%). In addition, these species present significant divergence in term of good quality of wood charcoal and the (populous alba) gave the superior quality of wood charcoal from the rest wood species. Therefore, the results of this study have a high assessment for managers of Kurdistan governmental and private charcoal factories as a suggestion which wood species is suitable in order to achieve better quality of wood charcoal.
