Texto completo da fonteA diminuição do custo e a diversificação dos dispositivos computacionais vêm criando ambientes de computação cada vez mais completos e sofisticados, mas que ainda carecem de softwares de integração que simplifiquem sua utilização e que melhor explorarem seu potencial. Para responder a esta questão, sistemas de computação ubíqua vêm sendo desenvolvidos para criar mecanismos de controle remoto e unificado de aplicações e dispositivos. Além disso, grupos de pesquisa na área de multimídia abordam outras questões como a sincronização entre dispositivos, gerência de recursos e definição de padrões de documentos. Este trabalho visa unificar os esforços de ambas as áreas com o objetivo de realizar apresentações multimídia através do paradigma de computação ubíqua. Neste trabalho, apresentamos a infraestrutura de execução de apresentações ActivePresentation desenvolvida e baseada em diferentes protótipos. Além disso, propomos um formato de documento multimídia chamado NCLua para orquestrar tais apresentações.
The diminishing costs and the diversity of computational devices are creating increasingly complex and sophisticated computational environments. Nonetheless, such environments still lack integration software to simplify their use and to better explore their potential. In response to this issue, ubiquitous computing systems are being developed to create remote control mechanisms of applications and devices. At the same time, research groups in the area of multimedia deal with other issues, such as synchronization between devices, resource management and document standard definitions. The purpose of this work is to join the efforts of both areas in order to build presentations using the ubiquitous computing paradigm. In this work, we introduce the ActivePresentation infrastructure, based and developed through the study of different prototypes. In addition, we propose a multimedia document format called NCLua to orchestrate such presentations.

Texto completo da fonteDet finns många Människa – Maskin system där utvecklare gör avkall på en del funktionalitet för att inte riskera att systemets användare överbelamras med information. En användare kan till exempel få så mycket information presenterad via synsinnet att synsinnet inte hinner med, eller information som presenteras via flera sinnen och är motsägelsefull och därför medför att hjärnan gör felaktiga tolkningar av systemets tillstånd. Sinnesöverbelastning och kognitiv överbelastning medför att användaren riskerar att inte längre kunna utföra sina uppgifter tillräckligt snabbt, tillräkligt säkert eller överhuvudtaget.
Taktil presentation är presentation som använder känselsinnet. Genom att använda taktil presentation kan man avlasta övriga informationskanaler såsom synsinnet och hörselsinnet. Dessutom är det visat att även om en människa inte klarar av att ta in mer information via ett sinne kan det totala informationsintaget ökas genom att använda flera sinnen.
I det här examensarbetet har två demonstratorer utvecklats till Saab Aerosystems AB för att illustera hur man kan använda taktil information för att avlasta övriga sinnen och för att öka en användares situationsmedvetenhet och därmed öka prestationen.

Texto completo da fonteDetta examensarbetes syfte har varit att söka svar på frågorna om huruvida försäljningen i en fotobutik kan påverkas av rörliga reklampresentationer samt hur stor kostnaden skulle bli om arbetet utförts utanför universitetet. Kostnaderna har sedan beräknats utifrån tre olika tänkbara scenarion. Presentationerna som producerats har varit för en enskild kameramodell samt för utvalda produkter inom produktgrupperna kikare, kameror samt trycksaker. Arbetet har omfattat dels bildbehandling av egna och befintliga foton, dels disponering och animering av dessa foton tillsammans med textblock och animationer av tredimensionella modeller av vissa av produkterna. För varje produktgrupp redovisas innehåll och tillvägagångssätt tillsammans med problem som uppstått under produktionens gång. I resultatdelen redovisas sedan förändringen i försäljningen samt de beräknade kostnaderna med utgång från åtgången tid för respektive presentation.

Texto completo da fonteThe interpretation of the ECG is an important method in the diagnosis of abnormal heart conditions and can be used proactively to discover previ-ously unknown heart problems. Being able to easily measure the ECG and get it analyzed and presented in a clear manner without having to consult a doctor is improtant to satisfy consumer needs. This report describes how an ECG signal is treated with different algo-rithms and methods to detect the heartbeat and its various parameters. This information is used to classify each heartbeat separately and thus determine whether the user has a normal or abnormal cardiac function. To achieve this a software prototype was developed in which the algorithms were implemented. A questionnaire survey was done in order to examine how the output of the software prototype should be presented for a user with no medical training. Seven ECG files from MIT-BIH Arrhythmia database were used for validation of the algorithms. The developed algorithms could detect of if any abnormality of heart function occurred and informed the users to consult a physician. The presentation of the heart function was based on the result from the questioner.

Due to this innovative new way of reading, the importance of interaction that allows the user to interact with RSVP in an intuitive manner is needed to help the reader reach its full reading potential. This thesis puts existing RSVP programs to the test with the help of six participants in different ages. Through in-depth interviews with the participants, this thesis presents a possible new way of displaying information and interacting with RSVP. From analysing the results of the in-depth interviews, a prototype is created.

The developed system means to have comparable functionality to existing such systems. An analysis of the developed system's precision is intended to be performed, and if the precision is found to be substandard an investigation needs suggest further hardware necessary for reaching a higher one.The project resulted in a partially connected, functioning system. The system consists of physical components, a database and a visual client application that processes and presents data. The system's physical components comprise four microphones and a Raspberry Pi 2 unit. The microphones register sound arrivals and signal these to the Raspberry unit, which saves data in the database. This data is retrieved, processed and presented by the visual client.The system currently lacks a physical target surface, and precision flaws in the system's physical components result in unreliable results, since readings are inconsistent from repeated hits at a specific position.

Texto completo da fonteThis study examines digital motivation and user profiling to construct a set of guidelines that motivates users to engage in physical exercise, in a way that also encourage them to share workout documentation, training results and give recommendations in a digital network. It also examines people's thoughts at sharing the personal training results to others. This investigation is done in relation to an assignment where the client is involved in the development of an upcoming service which offers online documentation of physical workouts, mainly towards CrossFit. The qualitative study involved a test group of eight people with varied training knowledge and background. The study resulted in two different categories: a) motivation for documentation services in a digital network, and b) user profiling in a digital network within a training context. The conclusion shows that the significant part of this service is the individuals exercise result, visualized by a development curve in a way that makes it possible to compare your progress to others. Members of the network are both transmitter and receiver, meaning that in order to gain access to other people's results, one must be prepared to show its own results. All participants were willing to share their results to some extent. For the network to operate in the long run, user profiles must be truthful and reliable. Being able to make comments may be helpful to determine the exercise efficiency and suitability for oneself, but also for viewers seeking inspiration and suggestions on exercises. A normalized presentation of results is suggested, making the results less personal and comparable with other practitioners.

Texto completo da fonteThe purpose of instructions is to pass a strategy or method for work on to a previously unexperienced person. For an instruction to be successful it must be designed in a manner that allows easy use and correct interpretation. The increasing demand for customer customization and flexibility leads to an ever increasing need for manufacturing companies to create and utilize instructions in an effective way. On the behalf of PartnerTech in Åtvidaberg, a project was conducted as a master thesis during the spring semester of 2014, with the target of facilitating the creation and revision of instructions. How information should be presented to best support the user was also a main objective of the project. Beside this, a method for categorizing the company’s products was requested, to facilitate the allocation of personnel at the assembly lines. PartnerTech as a contract manufacturer is continuously challenged with new products at various development stages. As a consequence, instructions needs to be created regularly. The initiative for the project originates from the dissatisfaction related to the current method. The master thesis has been conducted by a student at the mechanical engineering program at Linköping University. The initial part of the project involved a study of the current method and the company’s needs, as well as research within the concerned areas. Later the software SolidWorks Composer was evaluated to see which possible benefits it could hold. A proposal for a new layout of the instructions was developed, based on the found literature during the research. Instructions was established using the layout and principles, which then was tested on real products. Parallel to this a method for categorizing the products was developed. The project resulted in an alternative layout for instructions and a proposal for a new presentation method. The tool proposed for creating and maintaining the instructions is Microsoft PowerPoint, which was used during the project and showed several benefits compared to the current software. The evaluation of SolidWorks Composer showed that there is potential for more effective creation of images for instructions, given that some criteria is fulfilled. The method for categorizing products resulted in a checklist, based essentially on yes/no-questions.

Texto completo da fonteAtt använda presentationsprogram som PowerPoint eller Keynote för att stödja föreläsningar och presentationer har blivit allestädes närvarande både i akademin och industrin. Att utforma visuella bilder av presentationsmaterial är emellertid en tidskrävande och mödosam uppgift; upprepade steg krävs för att välja mallar, organisera objekt och optimera layouter. För att underlätta dessa mödosamma arbeten och låta användarna fokusera på att förbereda innehållet i presentationer presenterar vi SmartPPT, ett ramverk som stöder den automatiska generationen av presentationsbilder från en textvy. Vi byggde en Recommender System-modell inuti ramen som kunde plocka upp bildmallar för inmatning av textrutor. För att testa dess funktionalitet och effektivitet genomfördes två uppsättningar av användarstudieprocedurer och visade att SmartPPT är tidseffektivt för att generera bilder och användarna blev nöjdare jämfört med när man gjort handgjorda bilder eller använt PowerPoint-föreslagna mallar.

De operatörer som skall arbeta med dessa operatörsgränssnitt har intervjuats i en undersökning för att undersöka den visuella presentationen genom bildelement, färg och text. Mentala modeller har studerats för att avgöra hur väl konstruerade operatörsgränssnitten är. Resultaten visar att undersökandet av mentala modeller är ett utmärkt verktyg för att undersöka och ta reda på hur man kan förbättra operatörsgränssnitten.

Till grund för detta arbete ligger vår förra studie, ”Hur ser musikproducentens roll ut inom svensk populärmusik” och resultatet av den studien har vi i detta arbete omsatt i praktiken. Vi har nu arbetat med ett case, vilket bestod i att producera en sångerska och sammanföra hennes låtar till en homogen produktion för att slutligen presentera denna för två svenska majorskivbolag. Vid presentationen förde vi en diskussion med respektive A & R angående både vår presentation och artistpresentationer i allmänhet. Resultatet av arbetet är dels produkten, vilken är en demonstration av de tre låtar vi producerade samt de tips och reflektioner vi fick vid presentationerna.

Texto completo da fonteSyftet med studien var att fastställa hur man presenterar en pedagogisk text på webben så att den blir tillgänglig, läsbar och användbar för målgruppen. Undersökningen gjordes med en inledande
forskningsöversikt och därpå följande litteraturstudier. Speciellt värdefull visade sig WCAG 2.0 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) vara som dessutom ligger till grund för såväl litteratur inom området som för framtagna riktlinjer för svenska myndigheter. Metoder för att mäta graden av tillgänglighet, läsbarhet och användbarhet utvärderas i teoridelen, bland vilka Lix kan nämnas. Därefter skapades en enkel webbsida i enighet med de riktlinjer som
tagits fram med enkäter, intervjuer och litteraturstudier. Denna webbsida utvärderas med enkäter, intervjuer och tidigare framtagna mätmetoder. Resultatet av studien mynnar ut i en kravlista med punkter som en pedagogisk text för webben bör uppfylla. Denna lista delas in i fyra delar: strävansmål, mål för tillgänglighet, mål för läsbarhet samt mål för användbarhet. Exempel på punkter från kravlistan är: Texten ska vara enkel och lättläst,
erbjud uppläsning av texten, radavståndet ska vara minst 150% samt information om när dokumentet skapades/ändrades och av vem ska finnas med på webbsidan.

One item in the quality work for complex industrial products, such as aircrafts, is to shift from two-dimensional design data to three-dimensional. Three-dimensional models have been around for years. The disadvantage of these models is that they could not carry any extra information, in addition to the information necessary for them to be plotted. The technology has moved on and now it is possible to store technical information in the models and do simulations that didn't work before. As the technical information is contained in the models, you can also use this information to the various publications that are printed. The purpose of this study is to analyze how the technical information flow between models and users, and also to propose examples of how technical publications for the Gripen NG may be in the future when using model-based design documents. Once all information is in the model, it is not needed to have as much staff employed for editing pictures or writing text. This will involve a financial gain, and after some time, it will also provide an additional financial benefit, because the users have learned how the product works and will be more efficient in using it than the current documents.
