The purpose of this research is to show how the oriental nation affected the German literature as it affected other nation's culture and literature. In these pages we can see how the conflict was and what the current position is the opinion of European most great German authors such as Harder and Goethe, which distinguish Arabic oriental literary life from the west part of the glop where armies vividly occupied eastern Arabic lands through their power the Arabs got rid of the Superficiality and looked deeper into their own identification. German writers tried to reach the essence of Islamic civilization as well as the essence of Arabic poetry and the religious spirit in the East literature on the contrary of the German literature also religious translations that attracted the attention of writers in Germany. Eastern equestrian spirit which influencing Arab poetry, the poetry in Europe became an essential part of chivalrous life. Fairy tales like One Thousand and One Nights, Tragedy of AL Mansour also and mix of the two techniques, the oriental traditional East and the non-traditional European, Goethe believes that Arab literature reached a peak in the Middle Ages that only Greek and Roman literature reached before them, our research contains The opinion of a German translator Stefan Weidner who said that since the 1970s, we can note that Germany has become an increasingly attractive target for Arab immigrants so we see our honorable great writers whom affected the German literary life from Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria and Palestine. Many of them preferred permanent residency in Germany, chose to contribute to German and Arab cultural life, and in many cases, played the role of mediator between the two cultures.

ABSTRACTThe objective of this research is to determine the influence of waiter’s/waitress’ menu knowledge on his/her personal selling skill at Cinnamon Restaurant, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Jakarta. The quantitative method was used by collecting data from sample of 14 respondents who were the waiter/waitress of Cinnamon Restaurant, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Jakarta, and also using interviews and literature study. Analysis used in this research is descriptive analysis and simple linear regression analysis. The results of this research show that waiter’s/waitress’ menu knowledge has a positive influence on his/her personal selling skill. Conclusions of this research, there was a significant influence between waiter’s/waitress’ menu knowledge on his/her personal selling skill at Cinnamon Restaurant, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Jakarta of 87,5% with correlations coefficient of 0.936. ABSTRACTTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisa pengetahuan menu pramusaji pada keterampilan penjualan di Restoran Cinnamon, Hotel Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta. Metode kuantitatif digunakan dengan mengumpulkan data dari sampel 14 responden yang merupakan pramusaji Cinnamon Restaurant, Jakarta, dan juga menggunakan wawancara dan studi literatur. Analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif dan analisis regresi linier sederhana. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan menu pramusaji memiliki pengaruh positif pada keterampilan penjualan pribadinya. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini, ada pengaruh signifikan antara pengetahuan menu pelayan / pelayan tentang keterampilan penjualan di Cinnamon Restaurant, Jakarta sebesar 87,5% dengan koefisien korelasi 0. 936.

Translated Arabic Literature as a window to Foreign Mentalities: On the problem of the reception of foreign-cultural literature This article is concerned with the structure of hermeneutic understanding in order to "guarantee within cultural traditions a possible action-oriented self-understanding of individuals and groups and a reciprocal foreign understanding of other individuals and other groups through translated literary texts. Through this study, it can be stated that regional knowledge. i.e. knowledge of the historical, political, economic, and cultural peculiarities of a people cannot express the "spiritual body of a nation's inner history". In order to achieve this, i.e. to make the mentality of a foreign culture recognizable, in the sense of v. Eichendorff's poetry. in our case, the literature of a people in which ways of thinking and feelings, thought content, and emotional content are congealed in contemporary North African literature. To provide such guidance. At the same time, it opens the view for certain deficits of the recipient, which have to be compensated if one does not want to remain on the surface of the foreign culture. In oriental countries, this includes the necessary knowledge of the basics of Islam and knowledge of myths and rites, which have become the language of fairy tales in particular. because the religious and the folk and superstition are the forces that motivate the everyday life of oriental peoples, which cause their life motivation. Such active forces always flavor the literature of peoples However, contemporary North African literature is not just a literature of self-expression by its authors. an attempt to find oneself spiritually at home, it is also a window on literature in the sense of Karl Dedecius, the main addressee of which is not only the local reader but above all the Foreigners, the Europeans, the French or the Spaniards, who often even provided the authors with the language and in whose language area many of the North African authors also live. The literature suggests the possibility of different drug dosage requirements between patients of different ethnic origins. This study thereby attempted to investigate the average dosages of psychotropic medications being prescribed for Orientals versus Occidentals using a retrospective drug history review and an international opinion survey. The retrospective drug history review compared drug dosages for four commonly used psychotropic medications in well matched Oriental and Occidental populations. Data from this review showed that final/maintenance dosages of amitriptyline were significantly lower for Orientals than Occidentals. The opinion survey assessed the responses of psychiatrists in the Orient, as well as in North America, with respect to average dosages prescribed for the two populations; their beliefs in possible variability and causes underlying the variability. Data indicated that significantly lower dosages of chlorpromazine, phenelzine, diazepam, and chlordiazepoxide are being prescribed for Orientals as compared with Occidentals. Beliefs in differences were dependent upon the degree of exposure to Orientals. Suggested etiological factors underlying the variability were usually related to drug metabolism, side effects, and body weight. In both types of studies, Orientals appeared to have lower prescribed dosages than Occidentals. The lower dosages, however, appeared to be a function of the physician's experience in treating the Oriental population.

Este estudio parte del concepto “eurotaoísmo” (Sloterdijk) para aproximarse a la producción poética de Jesús Aguado y José Watanabe, donde se percibe una clara influencia de literaturas orientales. El artículo investiga cómo ambos autores expresan en sus textos el malestar de la postmodernidad y la nostalgia por un origen perdido que se sitúa en la cultura oriental de su elección, esto es, el deseo de regresar a ese origen y la imposibilidad de realizarlo.

AbstractThis article discusses the perpetration of Orientalism in the arena of contemporary South Asian literature in English: no longer an Orientalism propagated by Occidentals, but ironically enough, by Orientals, albeit by diasporic Orientals. This process, which is here termed as Re-Orientalism, dominates and, to a significant extent, distorts the representation of the Orient, seizing voice and platform, and once again consigning the Oriental within the Orient to a position of ‘The Other’. The article begins by analysing and establishing the dominant positionality of diasporic South Asian women writers relative to their non-diasporic counterparts in the genre, particularly within the last half decade. It then identifies three problems with the techniques employed by some diasporic authors which have exacerbated the detrimental effects of Re-Orientalism; the pre-occupation with producing writing which is recognisably within the South Asian genre, the problem of generalisation and totalisation, and the insidious nature of ‘truth claims’.

Ivan Jablonka busca por algo mais do que a simples combinação de história, ciência social e literatura. Ele gostaria que a história – ela própria compreendida como ciência social – fosse uma literatura do mundo real. Ele também se interessa por uma literatura que se orienta não apenas pelos resultados, mas também, de modo mais decisivo, pelas formas de raciocínio e de investigação da história e de outras ciências sociais afins (principalmente, a antropologia e a sociologia). A própria inserção de Jablonka dentro dos Annales parece evidente, principalmente por sua ênfase na cognição, na pesquisa orientada por problemas e no estatuto da história como ciência social. No entanto, as relações entre história, literatura e ficção não receberam muita atenção ou análise por parte dos pesquisadores dentro e ao redor dos Annales e, nesse contexto, Jablonka leva a compreensão da história para direções relativamente pouco exploradas. Apesar de possíveis discordâncias sobre pontos específicos, o livro instigante de Jablonka levanta questões muito relevantes, abre várias linhas significativas de investigação e busca uma interação desejável entre as abordagens históricas e literárias.

Este artículo presentó tendencias generales de investigación del comercio entre China y América Latina, a partir de la revisión de la literatura científica. En consecuencia, el objetivo consistió en examinar las trayectorias temáticas a partir de las publicaciones científicas que circulan en CNKI. Como método se utilizaron técnicas como búsqueda de la literatura y agrupaciones de publicaciones en orden cronológico, por objeto de investigación y por temática, para identificar inclinaciones temáticas en una ventana de observación que abarca dos décadas de publicaciones en China, destacando la metodología que se aplica en cada temática con un eje central de explicación del análisis cuantitativo y empírico en la literatura. El alcance de este artículo está orientado a mostrar una visión general del estado actual de producción de conocimiento que permita a los investigadores orientar futuras investigaciones en el campo del comercio entre China y América Latina.

This thesis studies the representation of the Ottoman Orient in Eighteenth Century English Literature. The thesis argues that a comprehensive understanding of the representation of the Ottoman Orient in 18th century English literature requires a new perspective
thus investigates different aspects of the interaction between the Ottoman Orient and 18th century Europe. Said'
s Orientalism discusses how European writers created a separate discourse to represent the Orient. The present thesis does not completely reject Said'

rather it argues that there was also a negotiating tendency which did not make radical distinction between the East and the West. Relying on 18th century pseudo-oriental letters, oriental tales and oriental travelogues the study tries to indicate that representation of the Ottoman Orient in 18th century English literature was different from the earlier centuries because developig critical and liberal spirit established a negotiation between the two worlds. The negotiation of the two worlds has been studied as a significant theme of the pseudo-oriental letters, oriental tales and oriental travelogues. The present study tried to indicate how the critical and inquisitive spirit of the age of Enlightenment interanimated Oreiental and European cultures.

O presente trabalho tem por objetivo averiguar como o mito do Oriente aparece na obra poética de Alberto Osório de Castro (1868 1946). Seu eixo central é o diálogo que seus poemas estabelecem com os temas e as formas da tradição oriental, em especial a indiana. Com isso, pretende-se delinear o orientalista que se encontra na obra do poeta português, partindo do pressuposto de que Osório de Castro inventa ali um Oriente. Busca-se averiguar a especificidade dessa invenção, identificando suas estratégias e possíveis intenções.
The present work aims to investigate how the Orient is represented in the poetic works of Alberto Osório de Castro (1868 1946). Its main axis is the dialog established between his poems and the topics and poetic forms found in the eastern tradition, especially in the Indian. This is intended in order to outline the Orientalist that can be found in the works of the Portuguese poet, assuming that Osório de Castro creates his own Orient. We seek to ascertain the specificity of this creation, identifying his strategies and possible intentions.

Esta tesis doctoral aspira a analizar la muerte en la narrativa mexicana contemporánea con un especial enfoque en el estudio paralelo de los pensamientos mexicanos y orientales; más específicamente, los chinos. Con el objetivo de desentrañar la esencia de la muerte presentada en las narrativas, haremos, primero, algunas observaciones sobre la función de los mitos de la muerte y el paisaje en las comunidades indígenas y las antiguas comunidades chinas. Mediante la exploración del acervo cultural del pasado y el seguimiento del desarrollo histórico de la perspectiva de la muerte en las dos culturales, procuramos comprender cierta conducta histórica del pueblo y la naturaleza de las costumbres y del espíritu público. Partiendo de esta base, estudiaremos las variadas connotaciones de la muerte y sus coloridos aspectos sensoriales en el panorama literaria, poniendo especial atención en escritores contemporáneos como Juan Rulfo, Carlos Fuentes, Fernando del Paso y algunos vanguardistas chinos. Con la lectura paralela de las novelas mexicanas y chinas en la elaboración del tema de la muerte, intentamos describir las similitudes y destacar sus peculiaridades; de este modo nos adentraremos en la conformación de sus identidades étnicas y nacionales, daremos coherencia al legado tradicional del país, reflexionaremos sobre cómo las ideas de la muerte cimbran dicho edificio y dibujaremos de manera más o menos fidedigna el rostro que caracteriza esta era y que supone la entrada al futuro.
This doctoral thesis aims to analyze death in contemporary Mexican narratives with a special focus on the parallel study of Mexican and oriental thoughts; more specifically, the Chinese thoughts. In order to unravel the essence of death presented in the narratives, first, we will make observations on the role of the myths of death and the landscape of indigenous and ancient Chinese communities. By exploring the cultural heritage of the past and monitoring the historical development of the perspective of death in the two cultures, we seek to clarify certain historical behaviors of the people and the nature of customs and public spirit. From this basis, we will study the various connotations of death and its colorful sensory aspects in the literary scene, with particular reference to contemporary writers such as Juan Rulfo, Carlos Fuentes, Fernando del Paso and some Chinese avant-garde writers. Through the parallel study of the Mexican and Chinese novels about their elaboration of the theme of death, we try to describe the similarities and highlight their peculiarities; in this way we will delve into the conformation of their ethnic and national identities, give coherence to the traditional legacy of the country, reflect on how the ideas of death shape its building and draw more or less faithfully the face that can characterize this era and represent the entrance to the future.

To our best knowledge this is the first attempt to investigate translation of the stylistic features involved in an interesting masterpiece of American literature, The Old Man and the Sea, written by Ernest Hemingway. This story has been translated into Arabic twice, first by Munir Ba'labaki and second by Dr Ziad Zakariyya. This thesis attempts to explore problems of literary translation from English into Arabic. It seeks to investigate some aspects of culture and style in The Old Man and the Sea and the two Arabic translations. The aim is to assess how much of the style and culture of the original has been preserved. It is also concerned with the problem of equivalence and translation units, since equivalence is considered the tool for detailed comparison. Chapter One deals with various approaches to evaluation of translation. This is done by reviewing a number of notions which have dominated the field of translation for a long time. One school believes that the act of translation is an art and that evaluation is limited to the aesthetic values of a literary work and depends largely on the critic's subjective decisions. Its objective is to provide a list of rules for the translator to follow in order to arrive at a translation of optimal value. The other school approaches translation as a linguistic operation and considers that a translation should be judged objectively, according to a linguistic analysis based on equivalence of the ST and the TT. Proponents of this view have developed models for evaluating. These models are addressed. Chapter Two is concerned with a review of certain concepts which are fundamental to literary translation. It attempts to highlight the theoretical approaches to the notion of 'equivalence', such as formal vs. dynamic and semantic vs. communicative equivalence, and different approaches to the question of translation units.

The main purpose of this thesis is to trace the impact of the English Romantic poets, especially Keats, Shelley and Byron, on Arab/Iraqi Romantic poetry and thought, in particular that of Nazik al-Mala'ikah. The thesis is divided into two volumes. The first volume consists of three chapters, each divided into short sections. The first chapter is a detailed introduction to the three other chapters. It discusses the problem of defining the term 'Romanticism'. It studies comparatively the four fundamentals of the English and Arabic Romantic theories. It traces the origin and the development of Arabic/Iraqi Romanticism. It also traces the sources of Nazik's knowledge of world literature: Arabic, English, American, French, German, Greek, Latin and Scandinavian. Nazik's poems and those of other Arabic Romantic poets, such as Iliyya Abu Madi, Ali Mahmud Taha, and Abu 'l-Qasim 'l-Shabbi are compared. The importance of the poems that appear in The Golden Treasury to Arabic poetry in general and to Nazik's poetry in particular is highlighted. A list of English poets, such as Shakespeare, Milton, Gray, Coleridge, Wordsworth, Keats, Shelley and Byron, whose poems and thoughts are influential on Nazik's poetry and critical works, is arranged chronologically with a short introduction to each poet, and his posit ion in Arabic/Iraqi poetry in general and in Nazik's literary works in particular. Abdul-Hai's bibliography of the Arabic versions of English poetry and Jlhan's Ra'uf's bibliography of the Arabic versions of Shelley's poetry are given, in order to indicate the earliest possible date of Arabic translation from English poetry. The second chapter is divided into two parts. These parts are preceded by a short introduction on Arabic translation of English poetry, followed by a section on Nazik's motives in translating English poetry. In the first part, Arabic versions of Gray's Elegy by Andraus, Mahmud, al-Muttalibi and Nazik are analysed comparatively to establish whether Nazik's version is original or dependent on the other earlier Arabic versions. In the final section, the influence of Gray's Elegy on Nazik's themes and imagery is traced. In the second part of this chapter, Nazik's version of Byron's address to the ocean in the fourth canto of Childe Harold's Pilgrimage is fully analysed, preceded by a list of Arabic versions of Byron's poems. Nazik's version is studied independently from other Arabic versions, because most of the versions found are of different parts of Byron's poem. A section is devoted to Nazik's and Byron's relationship with the sea. In the last section, the impact of this passage on Nazik's poetry is traced and compared to that of Gray's Elegy. The third chapter traces the presence of Keats's odes in Nazik's poetry. This chapter is introduced by a definition of the term 'Ode'. The second section traces the impact of the themes and imagery of Keats's odes on Nazik' s poetry. Four sections are devoted to establishing the common contrasting themes in Keats's and Nazik's poetry. The following sections are devoted to the natural elements common to the poetry of Nazik and Keats: the birds, the wind, the river, the sun and the moon. The final sections study comparatively Nazik's and Keats's common literary devices: Personification, Synaesthesia and Compound adjectives. The second volume consists of the fourth chapter, the tables and the bibliography. This chapter studies the allusions in Nazik's poetry, and traces their sources in Keats, Shelley, Byron and Anatole France. A section is devoted to names alluded to in Nazik's poetry. The significance of The Golden Bough in Arabic is highlighted in a separate section, followed by a section on Nazik's mythological themes and symbols. Two sections are devoted to the relations of the Jinniyyah to poetry and to god. The appearance and functions of Nazik's Jinniyyah are compared to those of similar figures in Anatole France and Shelley. Nazik's Jinniyyah is seen as the synthesis of a complex mythological tradition. Many examples are given to discuss her relations to: (1) male and female mythological, religious and cultural characters, such as: Adam, Cain, Abel, Prometheus, Christ, Muhammad, Paphnutius, Midas, Plutus, Eve, Thais, Adonis, Cupid, Narcissus, Nessus, Ares, Magdalen, Thais, Venus, Diana, Rabiah al-Adawiyyah, the Sleeping Beauty, Demeter, Rapunzel and Shahrazad; (2) supernatural creatures, such as: the serpent, the demon, the spider, the sirens, the giant fish, the ghosts and the ghoul; (3) mythological things, such as: the Labyrinth, Lethe, Eldorado, Pactolus and al-Kawthar. A section is devoted to the symbol of Gold in Nazik's and in English poetry. Nine tables are supplied, setting out the common mythological names that occur in Nazik's, Keats's, Shelley's and Byron's poetry. A bibliography of primary and secondary Arabic and English sources is given. This bibliography contains the works cited throughout and other relevant secondary sources. The former are marked with an asterisk.

This thesis examines the idea of China in British literature during a clearly defined period. Between 1757 and 1785, when Britain still had little direct contact and cultural exchange with the Chinese, China evoked various attitudes, images and beliefs in the British imagination. At times uncertain and evasive, popular understandings of China were sufficiently malleable for writers of the period to knead into domestic political satire and social discourse, giving fresh expression to popular criticisms, philosophical aspirations, and religious tensions. The period presents several prominent English, Irish, and Scottish writers who use the idea of China precisely in this manner in writings as generically diverse as drama, translation, travel writing, pseudo-Oriental letters, novels, and fairy tales. Some invoke China’s supposed defects to accentuate Britain’s material, scientific, and moral progress, or to feed contemporary debate about decadence in British society and government. Others exploit the notion of a more civilized and virtuous China to satirize what they regard as a supercilious cultural milieu attendant on their own emerging polite and commercial society, or to interrogate their nation’s moral criteria of the highest good, public-spiritedness, or evolving global enterprise. All give the idea of China new currency in the dialectical interplay between literary appeals to antiquity and the pursuit of modernity, enlisting it in philosophical and theological debates of Enlightenment. This thesis will argue that its subject writers, including Arthur Murphy, Thomas Percy, Oliver Goldsmith, John Bell, and Horace Walpole, use the idea of China to help define a British identity as culturally and politically distinct from Europe, especially France, and to contemplate Britain’s place within global history and a broadening world view at mid-century.

Since language is an important means of communication between human beings, it is held that writers or speakers can affect their readers or hearers by using certain linguistic means. The manipulation of semantics and syntax, namely the use of emotive language, is seen as an affective means resorted to by text producers to influence the people's acceptance of the truth. Emotional language aims ultimately at persuading the addressee to accept the facts as they are presented by writers. It is regarded as a necessary condition for persuasion to be successful. This is due to the persuasive force of emotive meaning exerted upon the receiver. In addition, the employment of emotive language may be attributed to ideological considerations. This will be demonstrated in Chapter II. Emotiveness, as a means of persuasion, can be expressed by using certain devices such as repetition, intertextuality, word-order, figures of speech, intensifiers ... etc. These strategies will be discussed in detail with reference to translation in Chapter III. Furthermore, I must say that some of my remarks have been based on the findings of outstanding grammarians and linguists, and therefore, I have been obliged to quote from such works to substantiate my points of view. Before proceeding with the investigation, I must point out that the entire data of my work will be confined only to news reports and editorials both in Arabic and English, and for this end a number of articles have been used from official newspapers in both languages.

This thesis aims to investigate the representation of fictional memories in the context of global Chinese literature, showing how displacement and translingualism affect the works by authors from the Mainland and from overseas, who express their creativity in different languages. The four novels Zha gen (Striking root) by Han Dong, Balzac et la Petite Tailleuse chinoise (Balzac and the little Chinese seamstress) by Dai Sijie, The Crazed by Ha Jin, and Rou zhi tu (Beijing Coma) by Ma Jian are compared as reflections of individual memories of the Cultural Revolution and of the 1989 Tian’anmen Square protests. The first part of the thesis addresses the new theoretical approaches configuring contemporary Chinese literature as a polyglossic and deterritorialised entity. The second part focuses on the analysis of two examples of autofictions, Zha gen and Balzac et la Petite Tailleuse chinoise, comparing their representation of time as reflected in the evolution of the individual. The third part explores the two novels The Crazed and Rou zhi tu, focusing on the spatial character of memory transposed in the form of a fictional témoignage. Finally, the fourth part investigates the interactions between Chinese literature and world literature, placing the cases analysed in a translingual perspective. The comparison between the Chinese, the English and the French versions of the novels shows how deterritorialised memories are modulated through translation and self-translation.

Apesar da crítica comumente apontar em Chassériau um “pintor de mulher” e embora haja alguns estudos pontuais, por exemplo, tratando os adereços portados pelas mulheres ou mesmo uma guinada psicanalítica, um estudo sistemático focando este tema ainda é lacunar. Para este artigo, nos debruçaremos sobre a questão separando a obra do artista por grandes temas recorrentes: a) o retrato: o pintor foi um retratista que, em alguns aspectos, agradou a crítica de sua época, sendo comparado ao seu mestre Ingres, como em Retrato da Mademoiselle Cabarrus de 1848 ou Retrato das senhoritas C. ou As duas irmãs. b) a literatura: em diversos momentos Chassériau apresenta figuras oriundas da literatura, notadamente as investidas em água-forte para a peça de Shakespeare, Otelo ou as diversas obras inspiradas na mitologia. Entretanto, quando falamos literatura, incluímos também o cenário das letras e das ciências de seu tempo, como O tepidarium de 1853, realizado a partir de artigos produzidos pela descoberta das ruínas de Pompéia. c) a alegoria: as figuras alegóricas femininas de maior expressão do artista estão concentradas no que foi a pintura na Cour de Comptes de 1844-1848, alvo do incêndio da famigerada Comuna de 1871. d) o oriente: muitos estudiosos no início da carreira de Chassériau procuraram encontrar traços geográficos para explicar o gosto oriental, ou seja, tal gosto se daria pelo fato do artista ter nascido em São Domingos. Porém a produção de figuras femininas orientais começa, sobretudo após sua viagem à Argélia em 1846.

Este artigo apresenta os resultados de uma revisão sistemática da literatura sobre trabalhos publicados a respeito de engenharia de requisitos orientada a serviços (Service-oriented Requirements Engineering – SORE). Com o dinamismo que ambientes orientados a serviços trazem por suas características de interoperabilidade em ambientes heterogêneos, faz-se necessária a criação de novas formas de elicitar, analisar, especificar, negociar, gerenciar e verificar requisitos. A metodologia desta revisão sistemática classificou os estudos selecionados segundo três dimensões conceituais: aspectos de serviços eletrônicos, aspectos relacionados à engenharia de requisitos tradicional e aspectos emergentes de SORE. Foram identificados 52 estudos primários, classificados nessas três dimensões. Os resultados encontrados apontam para o crescimento de trabalhos em SORE nos últimos anos, além de evidenciar as lacunas e tendências de pesquisas.

Resumen Este documento ha efectuado una revisión de literatura para esclarecer si la salvaguarda del medioambiente requiere actualmente la adopción de políticas de decrecimiento. Tras exponer las visiones de las economías neoclásica y ecológica sobre la relación entre crecimiento económico y sostenibilidad medioambiental y la propuesta de conciliar ambos fenómenos mediante un desarrollo sostenible, se analiza la posibilidad de que el desacople posibilite tal conciliación, desde una perspectiva teórica y empírica. A continuación, se exponen y debaten los tres grandes posicionamientos existentes en la literatura sobre el crecimiento económico: los partidarios del crecimiento, los partidarios del decrecimiento y los agnósticos ante el mismo; y se presentan las políticas que desde esas posiciones se propugnan, bien orientadas a la eficiencia y soluciones técnicas o bien a la suficiencia y cambios en los niveles y patrones de producción y consumo. Finalmente, se apuntan una serie de gaps de la literatura, que convendría corregir para realmente hacer operativas y eficaces las políticas que se proponen. Abstract This paper has carried out a literature review to answer the question of whether safeguarding the environment currently requires the adoption of degrowth policies. After presenting the neoclassical and ecological economic views on the relationship between economic growth and environmental sustainability and the proposal to reconcile both phenomena through sustainable development, the possibility of the decoupling that could make such a reconciliation possible is analysed from both a theoretical and empirical perspective. Next, the three main positions in the literature on economic growth are presented and debated: those in favour of growth, those in favour of degrowth and those agnostic towards it; and the policies advocated from these positions, whether oriented towards efficiency and technical solutions or towards sufficiency and changes in the levels and patterns of production and consumption. Finally, a series of existing gaps in the literature are pointed out, which should be corrected in order to make the policies proposed operational and effective. The modern development of science and technology has provided high quantity of information. This information must be systemized and classified. For taxonomization of educational materials, it was proposed to use existing graph-generators and graph-visualizers of the TODOS IT platform. A separate aspect of the TODOS IT platform is the possibility of using a centralized web-oriented learning environment. Creation of the system and transdisciplinary knowledge is a problem of modern education, which can be solved by creating a centralized web-oriented educational environment. Using this approach is an important part of the learning process. Such a centralized web-oriented environment based on the ontological approach involves filling, adaptive educational services with information resources that reflect the conceptual system of a particular discipline. One of the systems providing not only collection of information but include its systemizing is centralized web-oriented educational environment based on Ontology4 system. Ontology 4 use elements of the TODOS. The paper presents specific developments of one centralized web-oriented educational environment can be used to teach different subjects such as biology, chemistry, Ukrainian language and literature, using the STEM approach.

Resumo:
O El Niño pode ser encarado como um fenómeno de múltiplos perigos e as considerações sobre as necessidades de informação devem abranger diferentes populações e riscos, incluindo perigos diretos relacionados com o clima, redução da produção agrícola, maior insegurança alimentar e subnutrição, aumento da transmissão de doenças infeciosas e efeitos no acesso aos cuidados de saúde. As comunicações de alerta de riscos a longo e a curto prazo podem ter de incluir diferentes apelos à acção e é provável que haja diferentes níveis de urgência para esses apelos. Este relatório de considerações fundamentais descreve as implicações do El Niño na Região da África Oriental e Austral (ESAR) para as iniciativas de Comunicação de Riscos e Envolvimento Comunitário (CREC), com base em fenómenos meteorológicos similares anteriores. As lições aprendidas são predominantemente retiradas da literatura sobre a comunicação de previsões e informações meteorológicas, mas têm implicações para a resposta de CREC de múltiplos perigos. Algumas lições aprendidas são também retiradas de fora da África Oriental e Austral, mas consideradas especificamente no âmbito dos efeitos previstos do El Niño na ESAR. A primeira secção do relatório incide sobre as necessidades de informação, a segunda secção é sobre como garantir e criar confiança na informação, e a secção final diz respeito às estratégias de comunicação e envolvimento da comunidade. O relatório foi solicitado pelo Collective Service como um recurso para as organizações que trabalham na CREC relacionada com o El Niño na ESAR.

Tras mostrar las diferencias que presenta la literatura de los indicadores orientada a la acción pública con respecto a la literatura de indicadores puramente académica, este documento muestra las sucesivas oleadas en que se desarrolló: económicos, sociales, psicológicos y medioambientales. Tras discutir su definición y funciones –distinguiendo las características y funciones esenciales de las que son meramente habituales– se exponen los diferentes tipos de indicadores según el para qué se usan, qué aspectos tratan de medir y cómo representan la realidad. El documento profundiza, especialmente, en las características, ventajas y desventajas de los distintos tipos de indicadores según su grado de agregación: indicadores individuales simples, conjunto de indicadores e indicadores agregados (con una misma unidad de medida o con distintas unidades de medida: indicadores sintéticos e indicadores compuestos).

Este documento fue comisionado por la Red de Medio Ambiente del Diálogo Regional de Política para la IV Reunión Hemisférica celebrada el día 19 de julio de 2005. Ofrece una mirada panorámica, basada en entrevistas, revisión de literatura disponible y las reuniones subregionales realizadas a fines de 2004 y comienzos del 2005, de las prioridades en comercio y ambiente para Latinoamérica y El Caribe. El objetivo es ofrecer una plataforma para la reflexión y la acción sobre estos temas en la región. En particular, se espera que este documento permita orientar algunas acciones concretas, tanto de los países de la región como también de instituciones internacionales que potencialmente pueden contribuir con recursos técnicos y/o financieros a programas y proyectos sobre comercio y ambiente.

Information sources: We will search for trials from the following electronic databases: MEDLINE, EMBASE, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), and the Cumulative index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL). Trials will also be searched from three Korean medical databases (Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System [OASIS], Science-On and KoreaMed), a Chinese database (Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure [CNKI]) and a Japanese database (CiNii). Ongoing trials, trials will be searched on the Clinical Trials. gov (http://www.ClinicalTrials.gov), and the WHO International Clinical Trials Registry Platform (ICTRP) (http://apps.who.int/trialsearch/). We will also check the reference lists of reviews and the retrieved articles for additional studies. All bibliographic information and articles will be managed using EndNote (X8.2; Clarivate Analytics, Philadelphia). If the data of study are missing or insufficient, we will contact the corresponding authors by email.
