The article analyzes the current trends in the field of “supertext” studies, summarizes the reflection on the “Nizhny Novgorod text of Russian literature,” as well as border chronotopes, carried out in the period from 2007 to the present. Authors of the article indicate the main directions of research, such as the identification and description of the sacred toposes of the Nizhny Novgorod land, the comprehension of the value vectors of Russian literature, which were configured in a number of stable images: the images of the city of Kitezh, the Volga, the Diveevsky and Sarov sacred toposes, the image of Seraphim of Sarov. The review article presents the representative characteristics of the national-regional component. Theese features establish the relationship of creativity with the cultural and historical geospace, which appears as the spiritual homeland of the writer (protopop Avvakum, M. Gorky, E. Chirikov, etc.). An important component of literary discourse is the national image-character, which retains positively marked, sometimes ideal features (from the life of Alexander Nevsky to the heroes of E. Dolmatovsky’s “Sormovskaya Lyric”). The article outlines prospects for further research.

This article examines Finnish language literature in Russian Karelia on the Russian–Finnish national borderland from the 1940s until the 1970s. It focuses on the concepts of the non-Russian language space and border that are constructed and studied in the context of three novels: Iira (1947), Tiny White Bird (1961), and We Karelians (1971). The article claims that the non-Russian language space and the national border started to be understood differently from the official degrees dictated by Moscow, as found in literature already from the late 1950s and early 1960s. From the 1950s onwards, the historical, linguistic, and cultural roots across the national border and the Finnish population were allowed to be recognized in literature. Furthermore, this article claims that in the 1970s, literature was able to represent such regional history, and also the closeness and permeability of the national border that influenced the lives of the Soviet Karelian non-Russian speaking population and their identity formation. This led to different ideas of the national border, in which the border and its functions and meanings became gradually more multi-voiced, ambivalent and controversial, in comparison to the conceptualization of the border as presenting a strict, impermeable boundary.

There are presented the results of the analysis of condition and use of the collections of literature in the languages of nations of the Russian Federation in public libraries for the years 2006-2010. There are given specific characteristics of the notions: “National Book Publishing” and “National Literature”. There is grounded the need for libraries to consider the specificity of settlement of various ethnic diasporas. The article presents the results of sociological research conducted by libraries for the recent time in order to identify the needs of these diasporas.

В статье соборность трактуется как типологическая черта русского национального характера и как доминантная особенность русской литературы, которая отчетливо просматривается в истории русского национального сознания с древнейших времен до современности. Основные проявления русской соборности - религиозное, социальное, духовное и военное единство, которое наиболее ярко проявляется в исторически критические времена. Эти особенности русского характера наглядно проявляется в произведениях различных жанров, создаваемых в различные исторические периоды. The paper interprets conciliarity as a typological feature of the Russian national character and as a dominant feature of Russian literature, which is clearly visible in the history of Russian national consciousness from ancient times to the present. The main manifestations of Russian conciliarity are religious, social, spiritual and military unity, which is most clearly manifested in historically crucial times. These features of the Russian character are clearly manifested in the creations of various genres formed in various historical periods.

The article aims to reveal the changes in studies of Russian literature in Russia and the United Kingdom in the last three decades. The authors use the concept of the Russian literary canon to highlight the differences in the content and focus of the study of Russian literature. The empirical base of the research is Russian official documents, school textbooks, syllabi of university courses in Russian literature, and the collections of university libraries in the UK. Russian literary canon has changed to bridge the ideological break in Russian literature of the twentieth century. In Russia, the main channel for transmitting the canon is school education. The study of literature is supposed to ensure the formation of national identity, patriotism, humanistic values, and understanding of the exclusivity of Russian literature. The national canon understood as “compulsory reading”, performs socializing, educational, and stabilizing functions. The study of Russian literature in the UK began in the late 19th century at universities, where course content reflected the changing political context. Library collections and university curricula demonstrate the wide range of authors and research topics studied. The study of Russian literature in the UK could not be defined through the Russian literature canon as there is no mandatory reading, and it is studied mainly in translation. Thus, there is no connection between language and literature. The stable interest in the UK towards Russian literature of the 19th and 20th centuries confirms that it belongs to the world’s cultural heritage beyond national borders.

The article provides an overview of the conference “Russian Literature and National Statehood,” sums up its results, and summarizes the materials of the reports, which were remarkable by their academic validity and various research approaches, depth and significance. The innovation of scholars in posing the problem “Literature and Statehood” was also notable. The article outlines a wide range of issues related to the historical, cultural, spiritual life of Russia, the axiological significance of the phenomenon of statehood, touched upon by the speakers. The conference participants showed unanimity in their understanding of literature and the idea of the state as the basic values of national history. The article emphasizes that the tradition of holding this symposium dates back to 2020, and the IV All-Russian Conference is in continuity with the annual scientific events organized by the Research Center “Russian Literature and Christian Tradition.”

This dissertation investigates nineteenth-century narrative representations of the Cossacks—multi-ethnic warrior communities from the historical borderlands of empire, known for military strength, pillage, and revelry—as contested historical figures in modern identity politics. Rather than projecting today’s political borders into the past and proceeding from the claim that the Cossacks are either Russian or Ukrainian, this comparative project analyzes the nineteenth-century narratives that transform pre-national Cossack history into national patrimony. Following the Romantic era debates about national identity in the Russian empire, during which the Cossacks become part of both Ukrainian and Russian national self-definition, this dissertation focuses on the role of historical narrative in these burgeoning political projects. Drawing on Alexander Pushkin’s Poltava (1828), Nikolai Gogol’s Taras Bulba (1835, 1842), and Taras Shevchenko’s Haidamaky (1842), this dissertation traces the relationship between Cossack history, the poet-historian, and possible national futures in Ukrainian and Russian Romantic literature. In the age of empire, these literary representations shaped the emerging Ukrainian and Russian nations, conceptualized national belonging in terms of the domestic family unit, and reimagined the genealogical relationship between Ukrainian and Russian history. Uniting the national “we” in its readership, these Romantic texts prioritize the poet-historian’s creative, generative power and their ability to discover, legitimate, and project the nation into the future. This framework shifts the focus away from the political nation-state to emphasize the unifying power of shared narrative history and the figurative, future-oriented, and narrative genesis of national imaginaries.

Despite the volume of research into fairytales, gender and ideology in media studies, the specific subject of animated adaptations of national fairytales and their role in constructing gender identities remains a blind spot at least in relation to non-Western and non-Hollywood animation. This study addresses the gap by analysing animated adaptations of Russian national fairytales in Soviet and post-Soviet cinema and television. It does so as a tool through which to approach the gender politics of the dominant ideologies in national cinema and also, though to a lesser extent, in television. One of the key perspectives this research adopts concerns the reorganization of the myths of femininity, as stored in ‘national memory’ and transferred through the material of national fairytales produced during a century-long period. By providing a detailed critical treatment of animated adaptations of Russian magic fairytales, this research examines the interaction between the cinematic versions of the national fairytales and the representation of female characters on screen. It draws on a range of feminist theoretical approaches on media representation. By performing a systematic study of the under-researched field, through a combination of qualitative and empirical analysis, the work demonstrates how totalitarian regimes and new democratic societies implicitly control gender constructions in similar ways, and specifically through the animated versions of national fairytale adaptations. The research identifies how the constructions of femininity are manipulated through the reshaping of the national past coded in the ancient folkloric narratives. The findings of the study reveal the principles on which the implicit patriarchal gender politics is based. These principles include the conservative choice of fairytale material adapted to the screen, the reactionary increase of production of animated fairytales targeted against liberalisation, the exclusion and reconstruction of strong matriarchal fairytale female characters, stereotypical representation of selected female characters, and normalisation of domestic violence. In so doing the study identifies a weakness in the existing scholarly discourse on ideology, which traditionally has claimed that Soviet animation was non-violent. Further, the study establishes the constructions of national memory and female identity as a part of the dominant cinematic discourses.

Russian literature is traditionally regarded as one that served a model and guide for Chinese intellectuals in developing their national literature. It is also recognized that Eastern European literatures drew much attention of Chinese intellectuals in their quest for national identity and modernization. This thesis is aimed at providing a more detailed look at the Chinese- Slavic literary discourse of the 1920’s, focusing on Russian literature as a recognized literary “authority” of the time, and Ukrainian literature as an example of a literature of an oppressed nation, which went under both Russian and Eastern European “labels” at the time. I argue that challenged by a deep social and political crisis, Chinese intellectuals were compelled to develop a unique form of national identity, basing it on two usually mutually exclusive forms of nationalism, which manifested itself in the literary works of the period.

This thesis examines three different collections from the early works of the Russian writer Aleksei Remizov (1887-1957): Posolon' (1907), Leimonarion (1907), and Besnovatye: Savva Grudtsyn and Solomoniia (1951). Each of them highlights a different approach taken by Remizov in preserving Russianness. In this analysis the concept of Russianness does not constitute a specific national or historical scheme. The reference is rather to a spiritual legacy, a condition of soul. Posolon' calls for the regaining of a lost cyclicity and looks back in time at the common folk's way of life. Leimonarion is one of the most expressive examples of the constant duality of Remizov's position on the dominant artistic and ideological ideas of the time; this collection looks at the old world through the new eyes of a modern era. "Savva Grudtsyn" and "Solomoniia" present a perpetual moral struggle, which pits the profanity of a secular world against the sacred values to which people ought to aspire.
The results of the study show that Remizov, using different themes and different literary genres, pursues one broad concern: Russianness. This theme permeates not only his literary language, but also the content of the works discussed here. In Leimonarion Russia is kept together by her people and their belief in salvation; in Posolon' Russia is all about folklore, joyful games, tales and rituals; in Besnovatye Russia is saved by the simplicity and purity of the iurodivye , the 'Holy fools.'

O presente trabalho apresenta as concepções de identidade nacional em Machado de Assis e Dostoiévski, a comparação entre elas e suas relações com a literatura. Esta pesquisa se fundamenta na análise de dois textos: Instinto de Nacionalidade, ensaio de crítica literária publicado em 1873, do autor brasileiro; e Discurso a Púchkin, proferido na Celebração de inauguração da estátua a Púchkin em 1880, pelo autor russo. Sentimento íntimo sintetiza, em Machado de Assis, a identidade nacional. Em Dostoiévski, a singularidade do povo russo é expressa pela sensibilidade universal.
This dissertation presents the conceptions of national identity in Machado de Assis and Dostoevsky, the comparison between them and their relations with literature. This research is based on analysis of two texts: The Instinct of Nationality, a brazilian author´s essay of literary criticism, 1873; and Pushkin Speech, pronounced by the russian author at the inauguration of Pushkins statue in 1880. Intimate feeling summarizes the national identity in Machado de Assis. In Dostoevsky, the uniqueness of the Russian people is expressed by the universal sensibility.

In 1834, Belinsky melodramatically proclaimed, “We have no literature”. He was far from alone; similar sentiments are echoed in numerous critical essays and articles of the 1820s and 30s. These dire assessments of the state of Russian literature reflect the urgent concern the question of national identity had become to intellectuals of the period in the first few decades of the nineteenth century. In the wake of its victory in the Napoleonic War, Russia had won considerable military and political power in Europe. Culturally, however, there was a palpable sense of insecurity vis-a-vis Western Europe. Critics and writers bemoaned the derivative nature of Russian literature, calling for the creation of a national literature that would reflect the unique essence of the Russian national character. The means by which a sense of Russianness or “narodnost’” could be created in literature would become a central concern and topic of debate for writers and critics of the first four decades of the nineteenth century. Folklore was thought to be one way of producing the desired narodnost’. Based on German Romantic theories of nationalism, particularly those of Herder, it was argued that the “folk poetry” of the simple people retained a pure form of the national spirit untainted by foreign influence. It was to this folk poetry that many writers turned in their attempts to create a national literature. There were attempts to create works that imitated folk ballads, songs, and fairy tales as well as incorporating folkloric elements in larger literary works. This period also saw the early efforts to collect authentic examples of folklore from among the people - Pushkin ranks among these early collectors as well as Kireevsky. The practice of introducing elements of folklore into high literature was more complicated, however, than the theory would have one believe. Rather than being the unadulterated voice of the Russian nation taken directly from the people, the “folklore” that appeared in literary texts during this period was more often than not an amalgamation of many influences from both high and low literature and both foreign and native sources. Indeed, it would probably be more productive to think of the folkloric elements of literary texts in this period as being more representations of folklore than as “authentic” folklore. In this dissertation I will examine how writers, through the figure of their various narrators, interact with the folk material of their narratives. My analysis will focus on Alexander Pushkin, Nikolai Gogol and Vladimir Dal. My emphasis will be on analyzing how narrators situate themselves in relation to the folk elements of the text and how their attitudes dramatize the various issues and problems that arise from the gentry writer’s encounter with the cultural other represented by the folk. In my exploration of folklore in Pushkin’s works, I trace the development of his relationship with folklore from one of the earliest of his works, Ruslan and Liudmila, through the middle years of his career, represented by Eugene Onegin, where he makes his most explicit statement about Russian national identity. I conclude with a consideration of his fairytales, which were written towards the end of his artistic career. Through these works, I trace the shift of Pushkin’s narrator’s stance from a position of relative distance from the folkloric elements of his narrative toward a greater sense of identification with his folkloric material. The chapter on Gogol is devoted to the first volume of his Evenings on a Farm Near Dikan’ka. My focus will be on how the figure of the author is splintered and diluted as editor Rudy Panko presents the reader with stories he heard from storytellers in his village, who in turn, heard their stories from still other storytellers, leading to series of nested storytellers. I will also examine how these various storytellers display an array of attitudes toward their folk narratives and how these relationships are enacted in the text. My final chapter is devoted to Vladimir Dahl and his First Five collection of folk tales. I will consider the significance of Dahl’s ideas about the centrality of the language of the common Russian people for the construction of a national identity and how these ideas found expression in his folk tales. As with the other chapters, my focus will be on the figure of the narrator and how his attitudes toward the folkloric elements of his tales form an image of Russian national identity. I hope to show through these explorations how the writer’s engagement with folklore contributed to the image of the Russia and the construction of Russian national identity in nineteenth century literature.

The research focuses on the complex situation concerning the rigid definition of national cultural identities in the post-Soviet space. In contemporary Ukraine the conflict between alternative cultural models reflects social and political struggles. The contemporary Ukrainian literature in Russian represents a productive field of research in order to analyze the post-Soviet national context. Such a literary phenomenon rises in the interstitial passage between Ukrainian fixed opposite identifications: we deal with a proper hybrid phenomenon which grows out of the passage from the Soviet domination to the national independence.

This study examines the specific aspects of the reception of Russian formalism and the development of the Formal method in Soviet Ukrainian culture in the 1920s - the beginning of 1930s. Russian formalism in the process of reception becomes an important tool for the "modernization" of national culture and, as a result, an instrument for a new phase in the construction of national cultural identity. On that basis, the cultural-historical and ideological context of the development of Ukrainian literary criticism, criticism and (partially) literature of the late 19th - first decades of the 20th century is consistently reconstructed in eight chapters of the work. The first chapter highlights theoretical aspects of the study, reviews critical literature, reconstructs the history of reception of Russian formalism in Russian and Western criticism and the history of literature. The second chapter addresses the historical and theoretical premises of the reception of Formal theory in Ukrainian culture. The next chapter discusses historical and political context of the development of literature and literary criticism in 1917-1920 using the example of multinational post-revolutionary Kiev; a brief review of the theoretical and historical works of the 1920s also appears here. In the first half of the twentieth century, many Indians were agitating for their country’s freedom, resisting both British brute force and soft power, especially literature. English novels daunted Indian imaginations by setting ‘civilization’ on an unattainable pinnacle. However, Russian literature had the opposite effect. This essay will focus on how Lev Tolstoy’s writings, in translation, encouraged the Indian spirit. Tolstoy’s name was familiar to the politically conscious public due to his correspondence with Mahatma Gandhi which inspired South Africa’s first anti-apartheid movement. Tolstoy’s Russia, a vast, untamable, agrarian nation crisscrossed by railways and oppressed by its upper classes, mirrored India’s oppressed situation and galvanized its activists. Indian readers were invigorated by Tolstoy’s enduring ideas. Tolstoy’s writings made it clear that great art could stay true to one’s national and cultural experience and find a place within canons. This essay will explore the deep imprint his work left on the Indian consciousness, its pathways of circulation in translation and the implications for literary history in the early twentieth century.

This chapter borrows the metaphor of ‘rewilding’ from contemporary ecology to describe the effect of Russian poetry translated into Scots on the literature of Scotland in the past century. In that time, it is argued, poets writing in Scots have treated Russia as a source of unorthodox, revolutionary energy that might help them push back against anglophone monoculture and revitalize Scottish letters. I divide this history into three periods: the first is the modernist ‘Scottish Renaissance’ of the 1920s, in which the iconoclastic Hugh MacDiarmid made versions of Aleksandr Blok, Zinaida Gippius and others part of his interrogations of and prescriptions for Scottish national identity and language; the second is the 1960s and 1970s, when modernism slipped into postmodernism and when the presiding figure was the prolific and playful Edwin Morgan, who maintained a lifelong interest in the poetry of Vladimir Maiakovskii; I close with the period between the fall of the Soviet Union and the present, in which no single figure or explicit ideology has dominated, except perhaps for a growing concern with the promotion of minority identities as an end in itself. In all three periods, we see translators using Russian poetry, and especially experimental modernist verse, to help them interrogate Scotland’s ambivalent position as both perpetrator and victim of colonialism and to explore the productive tension between locally and globally dominant English and its minoritized sister-language Scots.

The relationship between the Soviet Union and the African continent has increasingly attracted the attention of historians and literary critics alike, with Angola frequently treated as a fruitful case study. This chapter traces the socio-cultural microhistory of the transmission of the work of Maksim Gorky (1868–1936) in Angola––a transmission which underpinned, crucially, the development of a littérature engagé during the struggle for Angolan independence from the Portuguese Empire in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Gorky’s influence on the generation of Angolan writers active in the 1950s and 1960s––often regarded as the Geração Cultura, after the literary bulletin Cultura (1957–1961), which resided at the heart of the cultural movement supporting the drive for independence––has been explicitly acknowledged. With José Luandino Vieira as a case study, this chapter seeks to determine the ways in which Maksim Gorky’s work influenced, through processes of translation, transmission, and adaptation, a critical moment in the emergence of an Angolan national literary culture. Through comparative analyses between source and target texts, and drawing on extant scholarship of translation and ideology, this chapter analyses the ‘degrees of mediation’ between Gorky’s work and its instrumentalization by the 1950s generation of Angolan authors, and Luandino Vieira specifically. The ‘degrees of mediation’ traced in this paper fall into two main categories: first, both the translation of the Russian author into Brazilian Portuguese––with particular emphasis on the novel Mother (1906)––and its transnational dissemination across the Atlantic; second, in light of the translations then available to Angolan authors, the transposition of aspects of Gorky’s oeuvre into the early writings of José Luandino Vieira.

Between Kafka and Gogol’. This suggestive title reflects the path that will be undertaken in this paper, approaching the two authors as privileged interlocutors in order to analyze the specific artistic dimension of the newest category of writers that has emerged in Ukraine following the post-Soviet historical fracture. Through the lenses of the peculiar features characterizing Franz Kafka’s and Nikolaj Gogol’s literary experiences, we will be able to highlight the nuances characterizing the specific cultural positioning of contemporary Ukrainian literary production in Russian.

In the modern multi-linguistic concept of Belarus culture, neo-latin poetry represents an important component. The inclusion in the 1960s of the Latinist poet Nikolai Gusovskij, alongside other Renaissance poets, in Belarusian literature contributed to the growth of the national consciousness of the Russified and Sovietized Belarusians. However, the first translations of The Poem of the Bison in Belarusian and Russian, which showed clear signs of a tendentiousness aimed at adapting the text to the socio-political situation of Soviet times, remain canonical, despite the presence of new translations.

AbstractDue to demographic changes all European countries face significant challenges concerning the provision of home and community care for older people. While challenges in organising care services seem to be generally similar, the resources, values and responsibilities are different across countries. The purpose of this chapter is to investigate current knowledge and patterns concerning exclusion from home care services in Central and Eastern European countries, focusing especially on Hungary as a central EU member state and the Russian Federation, as a non-EU Eastern European country. As existing international research typically focuses on Anglo-Saxon contexts, this chapter draws on the national language literature of these two nations as sources of empirical data for the analysis. Our analysis indicates that there is a long-standing risk of exclusion from home care services in both countries, with a need for reform to existing provisions to address this exclusion. Despite this a differential impact of macro-level policy is evident within the two jurisdictions, with some new innovations within the Russian Federation.

In the present article, the author briefly retraces the stages of Dante’s reception in Ukraine, then analyzes the main Ukrainian translations of Dante’s Divine Comedy in the 20th-21st century, namely those by Petro Karmans’kyj, Jevhen Drob’jazko and Maksym Stricha. The author briefly dwells on Karmans’kyj’s translation, highlighting the flaws already noted by H. Kočur and M. Stricha. Then the author analyzes Drob’jazko’s and Stricha’s translations, the only two complete Ukrainian translations of the Divine Comedy published so far. The author particularly compares the translators’ approaches to potential difficulties (e.g., the rendering of verse lines or single words in Latin, the verse lines in Provencal in Purgatory, song XXVI, ll. 141-147; the translations of some characters’ names, especially speaking names), and highlights the merits of their long and accurate work, which finally allowed Ukrainian readers to truly experience the Italian national poet, on one side, and filled the gap that divided Ukrainian literature from the neighboring Polish and Russian literature, on the other.

This chapter examines Volkhovskii’s early life from his birth in 1846 down to his third arrest in 1874. Volkhovskii was born into a comparatively impoverished noble family in modern-day Ukraine. He was at a young age scarred by seeing the harsh treatment of the serfs on his grandfather’s estate, which prompted his sympathy for the plight of the Russian people, and he was while still a teenager already well-versed in the ideas expressed in radical literature (both legal and illegal). He initially came under police supervision in 1866, in part because of his role in running a student organisation suspected of fostering Ukrainian national sentiment, before being arrested two years later for his part in setting up the Ruble Society that sought to build closer links between the intelligentsia and the peasantry. Volkhovskii was eventually released without charge, but within a few months he was arrested again, in part because he was suspected of having ties to Sergei Nechaev, the enfant terrible of the mid-nineteenth-century Russian revolutionary movement, whose sadism and penchant for melodramatic pronouncements alienated many of his fellow revolutionaries. Volkhovskii was again acquitted, after two years in prison, subsequently moving south to Odessa where he established one of the most active groups that made up the Chaikovskii movement. Volkhovskii’s group was extremely well-organised, insisting on the complete commitment of its members, and directed much of its attention to agitation among urban workers rather than the peasantry. Volkhovskii believed for a short time in the late 1860s that a successful revolution could be brought about by a small group committed to seizing power to bring about social and economic revolution. He was, though, for the most part convinced that real change would only come about through a programme of agitation designed to foment a radical outlook among the Russian narod.

The background color of Russian literature and Russian painting art in the 19th century is gloomy and heavy, and there exists text intertextuality between them, which is different from single text and single painting. Literary words and painting invisible words quote, permeate, insinuate and rewrite each other. Literature is the writing of painting, and painting is the color of literature. The main line of literature development and the main line of painting development seem to be twisted together like a rope, presenting spiral development, closely linked, complementary and inseparable.The same value orientation and aesthetic purpose have intertextuality, mutual influence, mutual interaction and mutual transformation, no matter in creation method, theme, artistic style or creation background. Direct description or sharp pen, or by the protagonist of indirect irony, using realistic and critical realism creation method, revealing the tsarist autocracy savage, dissatisfaction with the reality in protest of rebellion, as well as being bullied and oppressed pain and struggle, at the same time reflects the immortality of the Russian national literature and art achievement.

Osterwalder, which links a company's business processes with its strategy. However, there are different points of view on the concept of “business model”. Some consider it as a set of company processes, others link it to innovation or a management tool of the business. Osterwalder's supporters consider the business model as a concept that helps to achieve strategic goals and defines the functioning of a business. There is also a debate among researchers as to whether the concept of business model refers to strategy or separate categories. Opinions are divided but agree that definitions of “business model” are different, they can range from strategy to organizational theory.

Wang Meng is one of the Chinese writers whose works have been most translated in Russia, and even the sales of translations of the same work in Russia have greatly exceeded the sales in China. It can be said that Wang Meng’s influence on Russia is the same as that of Russian literature on Wang Meng’s life, and the latter is an indispensable cause of the former. This paper takes the period from the founding of the People’s Republic of China to the late period of 1980s as the timeline, the influence of Soviet literature on Wang Meng’s writing during the Sino-Soviet period, and the variation of Wang Meng’s acceptance of Russian and Soviet literature in the new period. Combined with text analysis, the author explains the literary phenomenon of writer Wang Meng. First of all, the influence of Soviet literature on Wang Meng’s writing during the Sino-Soviet period was divided into two parts: one is the “invisible” imitation of Russian and Soviet literature by contemporary Chinese writers; the other is Wang Meng’s inheritance and influence of Soviet literature. Among them, the Slavic spirit in Wang Meng’s works and the “revolutionary” theme in Wang Meng’s novels are the innovations of this article. In the second, the author separately analyzes three aspects: Wang Meng’s practice of Bakhtin’s carnivalized poetics, the change from idealism to realism, and the Orthodox spirit, Lao Zhuang thought and Wang Meng’s literary worldview. According to the language expression, the author’s creative style and the writers’ literary thought analysis, author explored Wang Meng’s acceptance and transformation of Soviet literary theories, literary genres, and Russian national spirit after the 1980s, and revealed Wang Meng’s reform and innovation in the literary path. Furthermore, from this perspective, examine the reasons why Wang Meng’s novel creation can stand on its own, repeatedly innovate, and the literary charm is evergreen.

In modern economic literature, several strategies for the development of corporations are considered at the theoretical level. However, the strategy of domestic economic activity is not considered as an independent form of strategy or insufficient attention is paid to it. The purpose of the article is to identify strategies for the activities of Russian enterprises based on their annual reports and ratings of Russian analytical agencies. Research objectives are, firstly, the development of a methodology for evaluating the results of activity strategies and, secondly, the analysis of activity strategies as a result of their commodity market, resource market, technological, integration and financial investment strategies. The study conducted revealed the features of strategies of corporations in the national market. According to the results of the analysis, the use of traditional theories in the context of the current financial globalization in a country with a developing economy is ineffective for the formation of an investment strategy. Macroeconomic factors have a strong impact, which is most evident during and after the crisis. The financial crisis has a strong impact on the capital structure. The factor that determines the development of the market has a significant impact on the debt burden and plays an important role in making financial decisions after the financial crisis.

Abstract. The purpose of the work is to substantiate the need for an integrated approach to the study and assessment of the labor and health of teachers (using the example of teachers of educational institutions) based on the analysis of literature data and the results of their own sociological, hygienic, clinical, physiological, psychological and statistical research methods. Analysis of literature data, regulatory legal acts on the protection of the health of Russians indicates a different degree of attention to the participants in the educational process, about a certain «preponderance» in favor of the health of students in comparison with care for the health of teachers. It shows the presence of changes in the physical and mental health of teachers, some features of their formation, depending on the teaching experience, seniority, age. When analyzing the information, one-sidedness, fragmentation of studies, and inadequacy of preventive measures are revealed. Health-forming and health-preserving activities are mainly related to students. The conducted studies dictate the need to increase attention to the health and work of teachers based on the implementation of an integrated approach, as well as the need to change / clarify the legal regulation of pedagogical activity when conducting a special assessment of working conditions and when organizing medical care.

The article reveals and characterizes the methodological features of teaching the discipline «Intellectual and Psychological Foundations of Mass Media Functioning» on the third year of the Faculty of Journalism at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. The focus is on the principles, functions, and standards of journalistic creativity during the full-scale war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. As the Russian genocidal, terrorist, and ecocidal war has posed acute challenges to the education and upbringing of student youth. A young person is called not only to acquire knowledge but to receive them simultaneously with comprehensive national, civic, and moral-spiritual upbringing. Teaching and educating students, the future journalists, on Ukrainian-centric, nation-building principles ensure a sense of unity between current socio-political processes and historical past, and open an intellectual window to Ukraine’s future. The teaching of the course ‘Intellectual-Psychological Foundations of Mass Media Functioning’ (lectures and practical classes, creative written assignments) is grounded in the philosophy of national education and upbringing, aimed at shaping a citizen-patriot and a knight, as only such a citizen is capable of selfless service to their own people, heroic struggle for freedom, and the united Ukrainian national state. The article presents student creative works, the aim of which is to develop historical national memory in students, promote the ideals of spiritual unity and integrity of Ukrainian identity, nurture the life-sustaining values of the Ukrainian language and culture, perpetuate the symbols of statehood, and strengthen the moral dignity and greatness of Ukrainian heroism. A methodology for assessing students’ pedagogical-professional competence and the fairness of teachers who deliver lectures and conduct practical classes has been summarized. The survey questions allow students to express their attitudes towards the content, methods, and forms of the educational process, which involves the application of experience from European and American countries, but the main emphasis is on the application of Ukrainian ethnopedagogy. Its defining ideas are democracy, populism, and patriotism, enriched with a distinct nation-building potential, which instills among students a unique culture of genuine Ukrainian history, the Ukrainian language and literature, national culture, and high journalistic professionalism.
