The group of grammatical words1 used by Rabbi Abraham ibn Ezra in his writings overall2 includes the words ’bl “but”, ’wlm “but, however", ’”r “after", ’k “but, only", ’kn “indeed", ’l “to”, ’”l “at", ’šr “that”, b “in", byn “between", bšbyl “for", “w” “except", “rm “not yet", k “as, like", kbr “already", kmw “like", kn “so, thus", kpy “as, like", l “to", lbd “alone", lkn “therefore", lm”n “for the sake of/so as to", mn “from", ngd “against", nwk” “in the face of", “bwr “in order that", “d “until, up to", “l “on”, “m “with", qwdm “before, previously", rq “only", twk “within", t”t “under" and tmwr “in the place of".3 Ibn Ezra did not use the grammatical terms prevailing in modern Hebrew, such as mylym dqdwqywt grammatical words‘, mylwt y”s prepositions‘, mylwt “ybwr or mylwt qyšwr conjunctions‘, etc., but sorted these words into groups that he labelled “bdym slaves‘, mlwt “nyyn words of matter‘ and ’wtywt “nyyn letters of matter‘, mlwt ““m words of sense‘ and mlwt dbq words of adhesion‘. These terms appeared in his writings as the topic and context required. Examination of Ibn Ezra‘s works shows that by these terms he meant the words that constitute a third word class, neither nouns nor verbs. This class includes prepositions (independent and clitic), conjunctions, adverbs and interjections. The definitions change from one work to another, as do the groups of words that the labels refer to, so that some grammatical words may belong to more than one group according to Ibn Ezra‘s definitions.

AbstractIn this study we clarify the phylogeny and reassess the current taxonomy of the Micarea prasina group, focusing especially on the M. byssacea and M. micrococca complexes. The phylogeny was investigated using ITS, mtSSU and Mcm7 regions from 25 taxa belonging to the M. prasina group. A total of 107 new sequences were generated. Data were analyzed using maximum parsimony and maximum likelihood methods. The results reveal five undescribed well-supported lineages. Four of the lineages represent new species described as Micarea pseudomicrococca Launis & Myllys sp. nov., M. czarnotae Launis, van den Boom, Sérusiaux & Myllys sp. nov., M. microareolata Launis, Pykälä & Myllys sp. nov. and M. laeta Launis & Myllys sp. nov. In addition, a fifth lineage was revealed that requires further study. Micarea pseudomicrococca is characterized by an olive green granular thallus, small cream-white or brownish apothecia lacking the Sedifolia-grey pigment and two types of paraphyses up to 2 µm wide. Micarea czarnotae forms a granular, densely granular or continuous olive green thallus, convex to hemispherical apothecia often with the Sedifolia-grey pigment and no crystalline granules in the thallus. Micarea microareolata is characterized by a ± pale green areolate thallus (composed of goniocysts), cream-white apothecia lacking the Sedifolia-grey pigment and narrow spores. Micarea laeta has a vivid to olive green granular thallus, pale apothecia lacking the Sedifolia-grey pigment and wider spores compared to M. microareolata. Descriptions, images and a key are provided for the new species. Crystalline granules are introduced as a novel species-level character for Micarea.

The Covid-19 pandemic has forced every activity to adapt to new habits, including the library. To overcome this, the UPI Library provides online services in the form of e-resources that can be accessed using the MyLOFT application. This study aims to determine how librarian services, service quality, and the role of e-resources services at MyLOFT are in terms of ease of access and in meeting the information needs of users. This research method uses a descriptive quantitative method. The sample of this study was active UPI students aged 18-22 years. The results showed that socialization and guidelines helped users in facilitating access to e-resources on MyLOFT, the quality of the service also had a pretty good appearance that made it easier for users to access, this service has also played quite a role in meeting the information needs of users at UPI. Although it is sufficient to meet the information needs of users, this service must continue to improve its services and continue to strive to provide the best service, so that the e-resources service on MyLOFT can be increasingly recognized and able to meet the information needs of users.

A two-step procedure is described for the purification of protein disulphide-isomerase (PDI). This procedure is based on the previous finding that the beta-subunit of the prolyl 4-hydroxylase tetramer (alpha 2 beta 2) is identical with PDI [Koivu, Myllylä, Helaakoski, Pihlajaniemi, Tasanen & Kivirikko (1987) J. Biol. Chem. 262, 6447-6449; Pihlajaniemi, Helaakoski, Tasanen, Myllylä, Huhtala, Koivu & Kivirikko (1987) EMBO J. 6, 643-649]. The procedure involves purification of the prolyl 4-hydroxylase tetramer by a simple affinity chromatography and subsequent isolation of the beta-subunit from the dissociated tetramer by ion-exchange chromatography.

Abstract Brain and other central nervous system tumors (BTs) contribute disproportionately to cancer morbidity and mortality relative to their incidence. To estimate the national burden due to these tumors in the United States (US), we estimated Years of Life Lost (YLL) due to premature death from BT overall and specific histopathologies. Mortality data for malignant and non-malignant BT were obtained from the National Vital Statistics System (~100% of US); survival data were obtained from the CDC’s National Program of Cancer Registries (NPCR, ~82% of the US) Survival Analytic Dataset for the years 2004-2018. YLL was calculated by adding estimated years of life left at their age of death. Mean YLL (mYLL) with corresponding 95% confidence intervals (95%CI) were reported by behavior, age at death, sex, and race/ethnicity for each data source, and by histopathology for NPCR. Total YLL due to malignant BT was 4,913,397 (mYLL=22.0) and 3,253,999 (mYLL=22.4), while non-malignant BTs contributed 208,278 YLL (mYLL=14.2). Females (mYLL=22.5), Hispanic individuals (mYLL=30.7), and children aged 0-14 years (mYLL=71.6), had the greatest mYLL due to malignant BTs. Glioblastoma had the highest total YLL (62.2% of all YLL, mYLL=19.8), while atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumors had the greatest mYLL despite accounting for less than 1% of total YLL due to malignant BT (mYLL=74.4). Meningiomas accounted for 79% of total YLL due to non-malignant tumors, with a mYLL of 13.7. Compared to non-malignant BT, malignant BTs have the greatest mYLL, reflecting their short survival time post-diagnosis. BT are the most common type of cancer in children, leading to relatively high total (475,290 YLL) and mYLL for pediatric BT which may contribute substantially to cancer-specific mortality in this population. These estimates provide a compliment to other population-based BT statistics in demonstrating the impact of these debilitating tumors.

This study investigated the inter-day and intra-device reliability, and criterion validity of six devices for measuring barbell velocity in the free-weight back squat and power clean. In total, 10 competitive weightlifters completed an initial one repetition maximum (1RM) assessment followed by three load-velocity profiles (40–100% 1RM) in both exercises on four separate occasions. Mean and peak velocity was measured simultaneously on each device and compared to 3D motion capture for all repetitions. Reliability was assessed via coefficient of variation (CV) and typical error (TE). Least products regression (LPR) (R2) and limits of agreement (LOA) assessed the validity of the devices. The Gymaware was the most reliable for both exercises (CV < 10%; TE < 0.11 m·s−1, except 100% 1RM (mean velocity) and 90‒100% 1RM (peak velocity)), with MyLift and PUSH following a similar trend. Poorer reliability was observed for Beast Sensor and Bar Sensei (CV = 5.1–119.9%; TE = 0.08–0.48 m·s−1). The Gymaware was the most valid device, with small systematic bias and no proportional or fixed bias evident across both exercises (R2 > 0.42–0.99 LOA = −0.03–0.03 m·s−1). Comparable validity data was observed for MyLift in the back squat. Both PUSH devices produced some fixed and proportional bias, with Beast Sensor and Bar Sensei being the least valid devices across both exercises (R2 > 0.00–0.96, LOA = −0.36–0.46 m·s−1). Linear position transducers and smartphone applications could be used to obtain velocity-based data, with inertial measurement units demonstrating poorer reliability and validity.

A new late Osagean (Lower Mississippian) crinoid fauna is described from the Muldraugh Member of the Borden Formation of central Kentucky. The Muldraugh Member records a mixed carbonate-siliciclastic tempestite-dominated ramp environment. This is the first report of late Osagean crinoids from this depositional setting on the eastern side of the Eastern Interior Basin of the midcontinental United States. The Muldraugh crinoid fauna contains 66 species and is dominated by advanced cladids. This fauna has similarities to other late Osagean faunas but is distinctive both in species abundance and rank order abundance of species. Eight new species are described from this fauna, includingCamptocrinus nudus, Paradichocrinus ramus, Poteriocrinites horowitzi, Parascytalocrinus pentagonus, Abrotocrinus debrae, Abrotocrinus springeri, Worthenocrinus hardinensis, andMespilocrinus myllos.

Previous research has found that programmers spend a significant fraction of their time navigating between different source code locations and that much of that time is spent returning to previously viewed code. Other work has identified the ability to juxtapose arbitrary pieces of code as cognitively important. However, modern IDEs have inherited a user interface design in which, usually, only one source file is displayed at a time, with the result that users must switch back and forth from one file to another. Taking advantage of the increasing availability of large displays, we propose a new interaction paradigm in which an IDE presents parts of multiple source files side by side, using the Mylyn degree-of-interest function to dynamically allocate screen space to them on the basis of degree-of-interest to the current development task. We demonstrate the feasibility of this paradigm with a prototype implementation built on the Eclipse IDE and note that it was used by the author over a period of months in the development of the prototype itself. Additionally, we present two case studies which quantify the potential reduction in navigation and demonstrate the simplicity of the approach and its ability to capture complete concerns on screen. These case studies suggest that the approach has the potential to reduce the time that programmers spend navigating by as much as 50%.

O presente trabalho refere-se a um estágio curricular para obtenção do mestrado em Línguas e Relações Empresariais da Universidade de Aveiro, tendo sido realizado na empresa alemã Mylily Bio-Periodenprodukte. O relatório conta com estudo de caso e análise interna da empresa, que compõe a primeira parte deste relatório, bem como com o planejamento de estratégias de marketing B2B para a entrada da marca no mercado português, contando com análise de dados de pesquisa por inquérito realizado no país de destino. Para tal, foram abordados conceitos de diversas áreas, como marketing industrial e de serviços, processos de internacionalização de empresas e relações interculturais. Apesar dos contratempos gerados pela pandemia do COVID-19, os resultados alcançados deram uma boa base de planejamento para que a empresa execute a internacionalização, quando dado de um momento mais oportuno.
The present work refers to a curricular internship to obtain the Master's degree in Languages and Business Relations from the University of Aveiro, having been held at the German company Mylily Bio-Periodenprodukte. The report has a case study and internal analysis of the company, which composes the first part of this report, as well as the planning of B2B marketing strategies for the entry of the brand in the Portuguese market, recounting analysis of research data by survey carried out in the country of destination. To this end, concepts from various areas were addressed, such as industrial and service marketing, business internationalization processes and intercultural relations. Despite the setbacks generated by the COVID-19 pandemic, the results achieved gave a good basis for planning for the company to perform internationalization, when given a more opportune time.

This dissertation investigates efficiency in municipal service delivery, the capability and competency of staff, the degree of service quality experienced by the community and the e-Government efficiency and effectiveness at Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality. It highlights problems relating to municipal incapacity and incompetency, and inefficiency of e-Government system. However, municipalities are expected to lead economic development in their respective communities, democratic and governance programmes. Then review of the literature relevant to e-Government capacity and municipal service delivery, serves as a primary data that adds value to the dissertation. Collation of the relevant data was followed by discussion of the employee perception on e-Government capacity and municipal service delivery. Local government struggles to provide services to citizens, but the poor service erodes trust. Service delivery backlogs continue to be unattended and significant segments of the community remain economically inactive and municipal capacity is the catalyst of the whole scenario.The relative lack of research on municipal e-Government capacity and service delivery is the primary motivation for this study to evaluate the e-Government and municipal service delivery and demonstrate that should e-Government capacity and service delivery be enhanced, the episode of local government protest can be eradicated and efficient service quality promoted.The sample was drawn from Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality employees who were cooperative in the execution of the study. As a result of this, the research on the subject has moved beyond imperfect borders of e-Govemment capacity and mtmicipal service delivery issues and has begun to focus more on aspects that can be considered to enhance e-Government capacity and municipal service delivery.The findings of this study provide a strong point of departure for the evaluation of muniicipal e-Government capacity and service delivery at Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality and indicate that there is a lack of capacity and competency, and inefficiency in the e-Government service. Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality management should explore opportunities to ensure that training and development are provided to municipal staff to improve capacity and competency and also explore the opportunity to increase e-Government efficiency and effectiveness.

The unprecedented outbreak of Covid-19 led to disruptions in all aspects of life and the economy. Total and partial closures have characterised the pandemic period to contain the spread of the epidemic. Higher education institutions have devised new forms of existence. With the increasing mutations of the virus, coupled with slow vaccination rollouts in Uganda, e-learning remains the practical pedagogy, while electronic information resources are the vital support for learning and research in these circumstances. During the first lockdown, in April 2020, the library carried out a qualitative study on both frontline library staff and academic users. The aim of the study was to understand the experiences of use of electronic resources during the pandemic period. Among the observations of the study was a total decline in downloads from institutional subscriptions of up to about 20% in the year 2020. This finding was troubling, given prior assumptions that lockdowns would boost e-resources’ uptake. Furthermore, while the library website and its aggregator tools had traditionally been assumed to be key access points for institutional resources, the study showed that most respondents preferred Google Scholar and not the library discovery tool, as their preferred key search interface. While Google Scholar worked perfectly on campus within permissible IP ranges, off campus access, as determined by the pandemic period, required a remote access tool. As such, respondents who utilised Google Scholar, experienced marked differences in the levels of access while outside the university network. Thus, the findings revealed that the library website was not the first point of recourse for most users and that this particularly affected the utilisation of e-resources. This chapter, therefore, highlights efforts to improve the use of e-resources through augmenting the website with interactive and other applications. It includes, but are not limited to, a subscription to another remote access system (MyLOFT – My Library on Finger Tips), which enables users to remotely access the library’s electronic resources, using their personal accounts and internet from anywhere with more flexibility.
