AbstractLet G be a finite group. By a Moore G-space we mean a G-space X such that for each subgroup H of G the fixed point space XH is a simply connected Moore space of type (MH,n), where MH is an abelian group depending on H, and n is a fixed integer. By a co-Hopf G-space we mean a G-space with a G-equivariant comultiplication. In this note it is shown that, in contrast to the non-equivariant case, there exist Moore G-spaces which are not co-Hopf G-spaces.

Let R be a unital ring with involution. In this paper, we first show that for an element a 2 R, a is Moore-Penrose invertible if and only if a is well-supported if and only if a is co-supported. Moreover, several new necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of the Moore-Penrose inverse of an element in a ring R are obtained. In addition, the formulae of the Moore-Penrose inverse of an element in a ring are presented.

This essay discusses how contemporary Latin American literature (Argentina, Brazil, and Colombia) employs the discourse of toxicity—condensed in the metaphor of bio-engineering and mutation—to process and interrogate what Jason Moore has called the “Capitolecene.” Moore proposes to understand the “accumulation of capital, the pursuit of power, and the co-production of nature in dialectical unity.” This essay considers how the co-production of nature, impelled by greed (a recurring allegory of capitalism) goes terribly wrong by generating toxic biomes. As such, these texts function as ecocritical allegories of the Capitolecene (specifically in its iteration as biocapitalism) and its human and environmental consequences.

AbstractWe consider the set (of homotopy classes) of co-H-structures on a Moore space M(G,n), where G is an abelian group and n is an integer ≥ 2. It is shown that for n > 2 the set has one element and for n = 2 the set is in one-one correspondence with Ext(G, G ⊗ G). We make a detailed investigation of the co-H-structures on M(G, 2) in the case G = ℤm, the integers mod m. We give a specific indexing of the co-H-structures on M(ℤm, 2) and of the homotopy classes of maps from M(ℤm, 2) to M(ℤn, 2) by means of certain standard homotopy elements. In terms of this indexing we completely determine the co-H-maps from M{ℤm, 2) to M(ℤn, 2) for each co-H-structure on M(ℤm, 2) and on M(ℤn, 2). This enables us to describe the action of the group of homotopy equivalences of M(ℤn, 2) on the set of co-H-structures of M(ℤm, 2). We prove that the action is transitive. From this it follows that if m is odd, all co-H-structures on M(ℤm, 2) are associative and commutative, and if m is even, all co-H-structures on M(ℤm, 2) are associative and non-commutative.

This article reviews the origin and costs of integrated circuits in the semiconductor industry. Sometimes, a significant integrated circuit achievement might not receive history’s recognition because it simply did not work well. The market might politely applaud a new development, but if another came along that was considerably cheaper, it would be seized hungrily. It would become the market leader and later in history's eyes, might appear to have been first. Jean Hoerni from Fairchild Semiconductor, in Mountain View, CA, developed a new transistor with all parts on one plane. He made connections through an insulating and protecting layer of oxide. Fairchild formed two design teams, one under co-founder Cordon Moore, to develop NPN, and one under co-founder Hoerni, who was working for Moore, to develop PNPs. Both projects were successful—Moore’s NPN, the 2N967, the first high-performance silicon transistor, and Hoerni’s PNP, the 2Nl132. But the NPN was easier to make at first, so Moore chose that one for IBM. Today, ICs house millions of transistors at costs of a fraction of a mil per transistor.

Abstract. Professor Leslie Moore, a former Sorby Professor and Head of the Department of Geology in the University of Sheffield, died on the 13 November 2003 at the age of 91 years. He was the driving force in the establishment of the Micropalaeontological Society. In 1968, during a period when the Geological Society, London was trying to co-ordinate the activities of all Specialist Working Groups in Britain, Leslie Moore was approached by the President of the Society with the request to assess the potential for establishing a Group to cater for the needs of micropalaeontologists. He consulted widely on the issue, not only within the micropalaeontological community but also with industry and other interested societies, only to find no over-whelming enthusiasm for the proposal. He was, however, impressed by the commitment within all branches of the science for the need for a greater degree of organization and identity and proposed the establishment of an autonomous body to meet those needs. It also provided the necessary ‘breathing space’ for the significance of the Geological Society proposals to be considered in full. The British Micropalaeontological Group was born in 1970 and Leslie Moore served as its first Chairman. During his tenure it became obvious that the way forward was to formalize the structure and, in due course, it emerged as the British Micropalaeontological Society.Leslie was born on June 23, 1912, the son of a miner in the Somerset Coalfield and he grew up in the small mining and market town of Midsomer . . .

In the year 1965, Gordon E. Moore, the Co-founding father of Intel, made a remark that the number of transistors in an integrated circuit doubled about each 2 years which as a result will increase the computation power exponentially and the size of transistors also maintains decreasing. As transistors get efficient, computer systems emerge as smaller and faster. The faster a microchip approaches electric indicators, the performance of a pc will increase with growth in microprocessors sign processing speed.

Abstract Cleavage by the endonuclease CPSF73 and polyadenylation of nascent RNA is an essential step in co-transcriptional mRNA maturation, and abnormal poly(A) site choices have been associated with human diseases, including cancer. Recent work has identified CPSF73 as a promising drug target for inhibiting the growth of specific cancers, and higher level of CPSF73 correlates to poor survival in breast cancer patients. However, our understanding of the regulation of CPSF73 is still at an early stage. Here, we report that a HECT-like E3 ligase, UBE3D, participates in stabilizing CPFS73 protein by preventing its ubiquitin-mediated degradation by the proteasome. Depletion of UBE3D in both non-cancer cells and cancer cells leads to CPSF73 downregulation, a pre-mRNA cleavage defect and dysregulated gene expression. UBE3D dysfunction or chemical inactivation of CPFS73 inhibited migration and invasion as well as stem cell renewal phenotypes in vitro in triple negative breast cancer cells. In addition, genetic overexpression of CPSF73 promoted breast cancer stemness and knocking down of CPSF73 inhibited stem cell renewal property. Together, our findings indicate that targeting the pre-mRNA processing nuclease CPSF73 has potential for breast cancer therapy. This work was supported by the NSF grant NS0224 to C. Moore and the NIH grant R01 GM101010-01A1 to C. Moore. Citation Format: Huiyun Liu, Daniel Heller-Trulli, Claire Moore. [Background and Motivation] System in Package (SiP) is pulling the evolution of technology instead of deep submicron of LSI. SiP assists coming AI/IoT/5G world. SiP has many implementation variations. When we examine the chip and package implementation technique for the target product, it's important task to find the optimal solution for the product considering trade-off between cost and performance. Compared with mass production products, it's important to optimize costs especially for small volume production products. Moreover, in terms of performance, compared to conventional packages, for high frequency products and SiP, since the margin becomes small and confirming system level electrical characteristics are necessary, in addition to conventional conceptual design and detail design, prototyping design is required to test its electrical characteristics while keeping lower cost. [Technical callenge] To do prototyping design at the early stage of product and find the optimum solution of the product, we created short turn-around time(TAT) iteration environment and distributed prototyping design. Quick Prototyping, which is a short TAT iteration environment, is based on the LSI/Package/PCB integrated co-design environment, estimates the chip size from the signal number of product, performs LSI design prototyping, using package automatic net assignment and the substrate auto routing, proceeds package prototype design and then confirms electrical characteristics. In the above, itfs possible to consider multiple implementation variations. In the distribution of prototype design, we utilize the LPB format (IEC 63055/IEEE 2401), have eliminated the interface(I/F) barriers between companies and tools, and have developed an environment for design prototypes and checking their characteristics throughout the industry. [Results and Conclusions] In collaboration with Semiconductor vendor Socionext Inc., as the above benchmark, 3D Flip Chip-Chip Scale Package(FCCSP) (with memory package with Package on Package(PoP) method) and 3D Fan-Out Wafer Level Package(FOWLP) (similarly in PoP method) as samples, the prototype design was created out. By comparison of the electrical characteristics, the Self Inductance of the FOWLP becomes half or less than FCCSP, the power supply noise could be suppressed. The shielding effect of FOWLP reduced the influence of crosstalk. We confirmed that FOWLP has advantage of electrical characteristics. On the cost side, in the LSI implementation of the FOWLP side, only the function blocks requiring performance were replaced with the fine node by chip partitioning, we examined to suppress the increase in cost while maintaining the performance advantage of FOWLP. With Quick Prototyping, cost and performance balance can be examined in the product review early stages, also by utilizing the LPB format for Quick Prototyping, from the negotiation stage with business partners, we can share the design data, focus on tuning the product itself and improve the competitive SiP products.

AbstractIn this paper we prove a version of curved Koszul duality for $\def \xmlpi #1{}\def \mathsfbi #1{\boldsymbol {\mathsf {#1}}}\let \le =\leqslant \let \leq =\leqslant \let \ge =\geqslant \let \geq =\geqslant \def \Pr {\mathit {Pr}}\def \Fr {\mathit {Fr}}\def \Rey {\mathit {Re}}\mathbb{Z}/2\mathbb{Z}$-graded curved coalgebras and their cobar differential graded algebras. A curved version of the homological perturbation lemma is also obtained as a useful technical tool for studying curved (co)algebras and precomplexes. The results of Koszul duality can be applied to study the category of matrix factorizations $\mathsf{MF}(R,W)$. We show how Dyckerhoff’s generating results fit into the framework of curved Koszul duality theory. This enables us to clarify the relationship between the Borel–Moore Hochschild homology of curved (co)algebras and the ordinary Hochschild homology of the category $\mathsf{MF}(R,W)$. Similar results are also obtained in the orbifold case and in the graded case.

The limb-driving force mutation of the modular combination parallel manipulator (MCPM) affects the alignment process of optical axis. In this paper, a novel optimization method based on the force mutation penalty term is proposed to solve the problem of driving force mutation. The kinematics and dynamics models of the manipulator are established using a modularization idea, reducing the complexity of the modeling process, and verified using co-simulation. Moreover, particle swarm optimization (PSO) is applied as an optimization tool. The effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed by comparing it with the minimize-the-maximum and Moore–Penrose (M–P) methods, which are widely used to solve parallel manipulators with redundant drives.

The line between packaging and silicon interconnect technology is blurring due to a reduction in package interconnect dimensions, which drives an increase in image resolution requirements. It is becoming more difficult to localize and image defects and structures throughout the packaging life cycle, from materials selection, through package and silicon design co-optimization, development, production, and field failure diagnostics. Characterization and failure analysis (FA) solutions must provide fast results for rapid development of packages meeting the required electrical, mechanical and reliability specifications with high yield and quality. Heterogeneous integration and complex packages containing multiple die drive new approaches to rapidly characterize structures, defects and processes. This paper presents new artificial intelligence (AI) developments in 3D X-ray microscopy (XRM) for non-destructive submicron-resolution imaging of packages. It also introduces the latest developments in focused ion beam (FIB) microscopes adapted with an integrated fs-laser for precise and fast analysis of deeply buried features in advanced packages.

Randy Moore's horror film Escape from Tomorrow (2013) was shot at Disneyland, Epcot, and Disney World, without either the authorization or knowledge of the Disney corporation. The result is a fascinating example of guerrilla filmmaking that makes use of gothic conventions to craft a new narrative of corporate horror. Both the film and its promotional materials narrate the vicissitudes of countering a mass-culture corporation that has become synonymous with American fantasies and imaginaries. And yet, however revolutionary his methods and overall narrative, Moore relies on long-familiar images of monstrous femininity to convey the circumstances of mass-culture seduction. The end result is less an attack on the institution of Disney itself than a gothic account of the parks' co-option by a dangerous female consumerism that nullifies male resistance or escape.

Tube-building marine worms of the polychaete family Sabellariidae exhibit a wide range of settlement strategies; the larvae of some species settle with near-absolute specificity on the sandy tubes of conspecific adults to build extensive reefs, while others are not gregarious and construct solitary or paired tubes. Sabellaria cementarium forms aggregations in some localities, but it is nongregarious throughout much of its range. Larvae of S. cementarium were competent to metamorphose in 25 days at 15 °C, much sooner than previously reported and within the range of other sabellariids cultured under the same conditions. In two of three experiments, there were no significant differences in larval settlement on conspecific tube sand versus control sand or tube sand extracted with organic solvents, suggesting that this species does not aggregate in response to a chemical cue. Settlement was not enhanced in response to free fatty acids, naturally occurring inducers of settlement for two reef-forming sabellariids, Phragmatopoma lapidosa lapidosa and P. l. californica. In reciprocal assays, larvae of S. cementarium and P. l. californica did not significantly discriminate between conspecific and heterospecific tube sand; yet, where they co-occur, the tubes of the former species are not found in aggregations of the latter. The two species were not interfertile, although one cross resulted in ~ 14% fertilization with larvae dying shortly after hatching. The processes by which larvae of S. cementarium avoid settlement on the tubes of P. l. californica (and the reverse for the latter species) remain unclear.

Let G be a locally compact group and ω a normalized multiplier on G. Denote by V(G) (respectively by V(G, ω)) the von Neumann algebra generated by the regular representation (respectively co-regular representation) of G. Kaniuth [6] and Taylor [14] have characterized those G for which the maximal type I finite central projection in V(G) is non-zero (respectively the identity operator in V(G)).In this paper we determine necessary and sufficient conditions on G and ω such that the maximal type / finite central projection in V(G, ω) is non-zero (respectively the identity operator in V(G, ω)) and construct this projection explicitly as a convolution operator on L2(G). As a consequence we prove the following statements are equivalent,(i) V(G, ω) is type I finite,(ii) all irreducible multiplier representations of G are finite dimensional,(iii) Gω (the central extension of G) is a Moore group, that is all its irreducible (ordinary) representations are finite dimensional.

Advances in the theory of semiconductors in the 1930s in addition to the purification of germanium and silicon crystals in the 1940s enabled the point-contact junction transistor in 1947 and initiated the era of semiconductor electronics. Gordon Moore postulated 18 years later that the number of components in an integrated circuit would double every 1 to 2 years with associated reductions in cost per transistor. Transistor density doubling through scaling—the decrease of component sizes—with each new process node continues today, albeit at a slower pace compared with historical rates of scaling. Transistor scaling has resulted in exponential gain in performance and energy efficiency of integrated circuits, which transformed computing from mainframes to personal computers and from mobile computing to cloud computing. Innovations in new materials, transistor structures, and lithographic technologies will enable further scaling. Monolithic 3D integration, design technology co-optimization, alternative switching mechanisms, and cryogenic operation could enable further transistor scaling and improved energy efficiency in the foreseeable future.

<p>The authors present theoretical and empirical arguments for adopting the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (or CRC) to renew the teaching of citizenship to young students from a social justice standpoint (Giroux, 2003; Giroux &amp; Searls-Giroux, 2004; Mitchell, 2010; Moore, 2008; Smith, 2007). The paper draws its analysis and conclusions from a descriptive, exploratory study with key participants from a 2009 rally hosted by Nobel nominee, child rights activist, and founder of <em>Free the Children</em>, Craig Kielburger. Four of the paper’s co-authors were senior elementary students initially chosen as interviewees for the investigation and subject to traditional research protocols for minors. During data collection, however, their status shifted reflexively to include their contributions – not as objects under study or subjects of the interviewer’s questions – but as co-constructors of new knowledge. Relative to the dominance of their teachers and other adult groups “engaging” their participation, this new status allowed a deeper exploration of the meanings they attached to active citizenship through an innovative dialogue (see Kellett &amp; Ward, 2008; Kellett, Forrest, Dent, &amp; Ward, 2004; also Devine, 2002). Through participatory lenses embedded within CRC principles, particularly Article 12, the analysis transcends traditional disciplinary silos to offer a critical and transdisciplinary alternative pedagogy.</p>

Current and future demands of mobile/portable electronic systems in terms of performance, power consumption, reliable system at a reasonable price are met by developing advanced/appropriate silicon process technology, innovative packaging solutions with use of chip-package-system co-design, low cost materials, advanced assembly and reliable interconnect technologies. In this article packaging evolution for hand held application is discussed with special focus on next generation chip embedding technology called eWLB in detail. To meet the above said challenges eWLB was developed which offers additional space for routing higher I/O chips on top of Silicon chip area which is not possible in conventional WLP or WLB. It also offers comparatively better electrical, thermal and reliability performance at reduced cost with possibility to address more Moore [decreasing technology nodes with low-k dielectrics in SoC] and more than Moore [heterogeneous integration of chips with different wafer technology as SiP solution in multi die or 3D eWLB approaches]. Currently 1st generation eWLB technology is available in the industry with 200mm and 300mm carrier size. This paper will highlight some of the recent advancements in progress development and mechnical characterization in component level and board level reliaiblity of next generation eWLB technologies of double-side 3D eWLB. Standard JEDEC tests were carried out to investigate component level reliability and both destructive/non-destructive analysis was performed to investigate potential structural defects. Daisychain Test vehicles were prepared and also tested for drop and TcoB (Temperature on Board) reliaiblity in industry standard test conditions. There was significant improvement of characteristic lifetime with thined eWLB in TcoB performance because of its enhanced flexibility of package. And there was study of board level reliabiilty with underfill in SMT for large size eWLB packages. This paper will also present study of package warpage behavior with temperature profile as well as failure analysis with microsturctural observation for comprehensive understanding of mechanical behavior of next generation eWLBs.

Executive dysfunction is associated with the inability to control aberrant behaviors, such as chronic overeating (Moore, Sabino, Koob, & Cottone, 2017). Obese individuals often report great difficulties controlling eating behaviors, despite a desire to successfully lose weight (Dohle, Diel, & Hofmann, 2018). However, current literature lacks a systematic review about the relationship between executive dysfunction and Obesity. The aim of this study is to present the most important findings about this matter. First, a bibliometric analysis shows the evolution of the topic. Then, the Tree of Science tool is used to show a chronological review that provides a general description of the roots and current perspectives of the state of literature. Finally, clustering analysis of the co-citation network was employed to identify the different perspectives of the topic. The main findings suggest four approaches: (1) effects of body mass index on executive functioning, (2) executive functioning in children with overweight and obesity, (3) physical activity for adult obesity and (4) structural and functional brain changes in obesity. Preliminary data state that in obesity, poor food choices may be associated with frontal cognitive impairments that contribute to reduced orbito-frontal cortex volume.

The 67 kDa calcimedin is a Ca2+-binding protein isolated from several muscle tissues. A recent report [Morse & Moore (1988) Biochem. J. 251, 171-174] indicated that the 67 kDa calcimedin is distinct from 67 kDa calelectrin, which is purified from various non-muscle cells. In the present study we have purified the 67 kDa protein from bovine aorta (i.e. 67 kDa calcimedin) and liver (i.e. 67 kDa calelectrin) and compared them by immunological and biochemical criteria. The aorta calcimedin is identical with the liver calelectrin by the following criteria. (1) The calcimedin co-electrophoresed with the calelectrin on SDS/5-15%-(w/v)-linear-gradient polyacrylamide gels. (2) The two proteins selectively cross-reacted with a chicken gizzard calcimedin antibody. (3) An antibody raised against the bovine aorta calcimedin also recognized the bovine liver calelectrin. (4) One-dimensional peptide maps of the two proteins revealed no significant difference. (5) The calcimedin appeared to have an amino acid composition essentially the same as that of the liver calelectrin. (6) The amino acid sequences of the calcimedin fragments were identical with those of the calelectrin fragments.

Background: Integrated care has been heavily researched, but additional efforts are required to move knowledge of integrated care into action, ideally at a larger scale and in a more sustainable fashion. We need a stronger grasp of how integrated care models are implemented, and how they might be tailored to unique contexts. Within the context of complex health care interventions, it is relatively rare that researchers engage in evaluations of the process (Lewin et al., 2009); the focus tends to be the outcomes not the process (Moore et al., 2015). To support the implementation of sustained and tailored models of integrated care, we must endeavor to better capture the process in which change is enacted. This is particularly prudent in countries with aging societies, as health care integration is especially important for older adults, whose care needs cut across a range of systems, providers, and settings. Purpose: This work seeks to understand the knowledge to action (KTA) process in which knowledge is co-created within a co-design setting, and then implemented within a health region to improve integrated care for older adults. Here, we focus on the processes and results of the co-design approach with care providers and older adults. Older adult patient partners have been integrated in each step of this process. Methods: In this study, we have partnered with health care providers and older adult patients and caregivers in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, to document and evaluate efforts to co-design and implement an integrated model of care for frail older adults in two regions. We have worked with each region to understand and document their co-design process from late 2020 through to the present. Employing a qualitative multiple case study design, we have observed and documented virtual co-design sessions which occurred monthly, in two regions, and conducted individual interviews regarding the co-design process with older adult (n=4) and health care provider (n=9) working group members. Within these co-design sessions, we also facilitated the development and identification of goals for each region’s approach to integrating geriatric care. Qualitative data were analyzed using appropriate coding techniques. Results: Through observations and interviews with older adult and health care provider co-design working group members, a number of themes emerged. First, working group (WG) members identified that having an external facilitator leading the co-design sessions was a benefit. Co-design sessions needed to be flexible, informative, and productive to keep members engaged in the co-design work. WG members also identified a number of goals that needed to be achieved to indicate that co-designed improvements were made to the geriatric health system. Goals included, decrease referral duplication, improve patient and caregiver experience, improve provider collaboration, and decrease service wait time. Conclusion: This work has demonstrated practices and techniques for both creating and then tailoring an integrated care model for unique regions, including a novel application of the GAS guide as a tool to support co-design. These learnings may facilitate the future participation of older adults and their caregivers in improving health care, in Canada and elsewhere.

Abstract Bispecific T cell engagers (TCEs) have exhibited clinical successes in the treatment of hematological cancers, while treatment of solid tumors remains a challenge. Treatment of solid tumors with conventional CD3-engaging TCEs can result in limited T cell proliferation and recruitment to the tumor site, and treatment related T cell anergy, thus restricting the ability of bispecific TCEs to inhibit growth of these poorly infiltrated tumors and rapidly growing tumors. Next generation tumor-targeting, trispecific T cell engagers with integrated costimulation (TriTCE Co-Stim) have the potential to provide more durable responses and re-invigorate T cell responses by mediating integrated signaling through CD3 (signal 1) and co-stimulation through CD28 (signal 2). Superagonist anti-CD28 antibodies activate T cells but resulted in clinical toxicities with severe cytokine release syndrome (CRS). Therefore, achieving a balance between signal 1 and 2 is critical for optimal T cell activation and proliferation. Using our AzymetricTM and EFECTTM platforms, we generated heterodimeric TriTCE Co-Stim antibody formats with various geometries and affinities to optimize T cell response and widen the therapeutic window for the treatment of solid tumors. We have previously described screening and interrogation of different TriTCE Co-stim formats and paratope affinities, and the selection of a lead format with optimized CD3 and CD28 T cell activation. Here, we have further expanded our validation of the TriTCE Co-stim platform with our lead CLDN18.2 TriTCE co-stim format, to include a tolerability assessment in nonhuman primates. Our lead TriTCE Co-Stim format exhibited a favorable safety profile in vitro and mediated target-dependent induction of T cell activity, with enhanced proliferation, survival, and T cell-mediated cytotoxic potency compared to bispecific TCEs. In a predictive in vivo model of CRS, our lead TriTCE Co-Stim did not exhibit systemic toxicity or peripheral cytokine release. TriTCE Co-Stim mediated enhanced tumor growth regression in vivo with an increase of T cells within the tumor and no increase of T cells within the periphery. Repeat doses of the lead TriTCE Co-Stim molecule at 3 mg/kg were well-tolerated in nonhuman primates with no abnormal clinical signs. Minor decreases in body weight and food consumption were observed. Clinical pathology changes were consistent with a mild systemic inflammatory response. In summary, our lead TriTCE co-stim molecule has enhanced target-dependent antitumor activity vs. bispecific benchmarks and is tolerated a murine CRS model and repeat dose non-human primate study. These data suggest TriTCE Co-stim may provide tolerable and more durable antitumor responses and contribute to improved clinical outcomes.
