Resumo:

Dalam syariat Islam, setiap pelanggaran akan mendapatkan hukumannya, termasuk tindak pidana yang salah satu hukumannya adalah cambuk. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tindak pidana apa saja yang mendapatkan hukuman cambuk dan bagaimana mekanisme pelaksanaan hukuman cambuk. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kajian pustaka dengan menggunakan Teknik analisis isi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tindak pidana dalam syariat Islam yang mendapatkan hukuman berupa cambuk adalah menuduh orang berbuat zina (qadzaf), zina, minum khamr, berbuat mesum dan judi. Mekanisme pelaksanaan hukuman cambuk harus dilakukan di tempat umum untuk dipertontonkan di khalayak ramai. Tujuannya adalah sebagai bentuk preventif sekaligus menjadi pelajaran bagi masyarakat umum. Dan jumlah cambuk yang diberikan disesuaikan dengan jenis tindak pidananya.

<em>The crucial issue in grounding Islamic criminal law is that there are still many Islamic criminal law terms that use Arabic terms and Arabic backgrounds, so that Islamic criminal law is only considered to fit the Arabic context. And in Islamic law criminal law is called jinayah which is defined as actions prohibited by shara' which are threatened by Allah SWT with jarimah (punishment) hudud, qishas and diat or ta'zir, in other words, doing or not doing is only considered a criminal offense if a penalty has been determined and threatened against it. The type of research used is qualitative research with comparative descriptive method. The data collection technique in this research is the literature method, which traces the existing literature and carefully examines the data related to the issues discussed. The results of this study are the criminal laws of Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam as regulated in Qanun No. 14 of 2003 on Khalwat (Mesum), Enakmen Jenayah Syari'ah Selangor Number 9 of 1995 and Kanun Jenayah Syari'ah Brunei Darussalam 2013 have similarities and differences in terms of determining a criminal act of adultery. When viewed in terms of the definition of adultery in Qanun No. 14 of 2003 on Khalwat (Mesum), Enakmen Jenayah Syari'ah Selangor Number 9 of 1995 and Kanun Jenayah Syari'ah Brunei Darussalam 2013, both are not contrary to the provisions of jinayah fiqh. All three have similarities in determining the elements of a criminal act of adultery, namely the element without a legal marriage bond is one of the elements that determine an act of adultery, because if the relationship is based on a legal marriage then automatically the conditions in a marriage have been fulfilled and the relationship is a permissible act</em>

Resumo:

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kinerja yang dilaksanakan oleh Dinas Satpol PP dan WH Kabupaten Gayo Lues dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kinerja tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode fact finding, yang mengembangkan konsep dan menghimpun fakta tetapi tidak melakukan pengujian hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kinerja Dinas Satpol PP dan WH Kabupaten Gayo Lues belum optimal, terlihat dari beberapa aspek seperti akuntabilitas, responsibilitas, dan responsivitas. Kinerja Satpol PP dan WH Kabupaten Gayo Lues yang dilihat dari tiga indikator tersebut, dipengaruhi oleh variabel internal organisasi, yaitu struktur organisasi, sumber daya manusia, dan finansial. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disarankan untuk melakukan rekomendasi kebijakan untuk meningkatkan kinerja Satpol PP dan WH Kabupaten Gayo Lues, seperti menata perangkat peraturan dan penegakan hukum dalam rangka ketertiban dan ketentraman serta penegakkan Syariat Islam, mengubah struktur organisasi Satpol PP dan WH menjadi Dinas Satpol PP dan WH, serta memperbaiki manajemen, dan membentuk lembaga ditingkat desa yang berfungsi untuk penegakkan Syariat Islam guna memudahkan pengawasan, pembinaan, dan pengendalian terhadap pelanggaran seperti khalwat, jinayat, mesum, khamar, busana muslim/muslimah, dan judi.

Resumo:

Pendidikan seks dalam perspektif islam untuk meningkatkan karakter religius siswa merupakan hal penting untuk siswa di sekolah. Namun, pendidikan seks sering dianggap tabu anak-anak karena menganggap bahwa seks adalah hal-hal yang porno, kotor, atau mesum. Pengetahuan dasar tentang pendidikan seks sangat membantu siswa dalam menjaga kebersihan, percaya diri bahkan menghindarkan dari perilaku yang tidak sesuai dengan syariat islam. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah 1) Mendeskripsikan landasan pendidikan seks dalam perspektif Islam. 2) Mendeskripsikan sistem pendidikan seks dalam perspektif Islam. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah kualitatif-deksriptif bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan fenomena-fenomena sesuai dengan realita. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan 1) Observasi 2) Wawancara 3) Dokumentasi. Model analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman, langkah-langkahnya yaitu: reduksi data, penyajian data, verifikasi, dan penyimpulan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Landasan penerapan pendidikan seks ialah membekali peserta didik agar siap menghadapi masa puberitas dengan baik sehingga mereka tidak asing dengan perubahan dalam diri misalnya perubahan fisik dan emosional. Mengetahui batasan-batasan bergaul dengan lawan jenis. 2) Penerapan pendidikan seks dalam perspektif islam untuk meningkatkan karakter religius siswa di SDIT Ibnu Hajar ialah melalui program Lingkar Bina Siswa (LBS) yang dilaksanakan setiap hari jumat.

ABSTRAK Kesepakatan antara calon mempelai merupakan salah satu syarat pernikahan. Terdapat pernikahan di Kelurahan Mompang Jae yang tidak memenuhi standar tersebut, yaitu kawin paksa. Pernikahan ini merupakan sanksi bagi mereka yang telah melakukan khalwat/maksiat. Berdasarkan ketentuan peraturan adat setempat bagi mereka yang melakukan khalwat dan tertangkap basah oleh masyarakat akan diberikan sanksi sosial berupa denda atau diarak keliling kampung dan/atau sanksi menyelenggarakan perkawinan bagi pelaku khalwat/mesum. Hal ini bertentangan dengan hukum Islam, dimana salah satu prinsip perkawinan yaitu berdasarkan kesepakatan atau suka sama suka dan tidak terdapat unsur paksaan. Metodologi penelitian yang diterapkan adalah legal empiris. Data penelitian yang digunakan berasal dari data primer dan sekunder. Metode pengumpulan datanya yaitu melalui studi pustaka dan penelitian lapangan. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data adalah pedoman wawancara. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif. Data yang diperoleh dievaluasi secara kualitatif. Sanksi bagi pelaku khalwat di Kelurahan Mompang Jae tetap menggunakan aturan turun-temurun yaitu dengan tradisi kawin paksa bagi pelakunya, denda (diyat), dan diarak keliling kampung. Hal ini dilarang oleh hukum Islam, dimana dalam islam tidak boleh melangsungkan perkawinan secara paksa, namun seharusnya menggunakan asas kerelaan dan keridhaan antar kedua belah pihak yang akan melaksanakan perkawinan

Insert Today merupakan tayangan program televisi dari Insert di Trans Tv. Insert merupakan program hiburan yang menyajikan informasi, viral, dan semua tentang kehidupan selebriti. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pelanggaran etika yang diperoleh dalam program Insert Today di Trans TV. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Metode deskriptif kualitatif erat kaitannya dengan paradigma post-positivisme. Komisi Penyiaran Indonesia (KPI) telah menerbitkan Pedoman Perilaku Penyiaran dan Standar Program Siaran (P3SPS) sebagai acuan dalam penegakan etika dan hukum penyiaran. Terdapat 2 temuan pelanggaran pada penelitian ini yaitu pertama, terdapat tampilan bagian paha mendekati bokong Erica Carlina saat duduk di sofa. Kedua, terdapat adegan percakapan antara Erica Carlina, Gofar Hilman, dan Nicholas Sean yang mengeluarkan perkataan kasar. Hasil yang ditemukan dalam penelitian ini yaitu tampilan bagian paha Erica Carlina saat duduk di sofa melanggar pedoman perilaku penyiaran dan standar program siaran BAB XII pasal 18 bagian pertama tentang pelarangan adegan seksual. Percakapan dengan ungkapan kasar telah melanggar BAB XIII bagian kedua, pasal 24 tentang ungkapan kasar dan makian. Dimana program siaran dilarang menampilkan ungkapan kasar dan makian, baik secara verbal maupun non verbal yang mempunyai kecenderungan menghina atau merendahkan martabat manusia, memiliki makna jorok atau mesum atau cabul atau vulgar atau menghina agama dan tuhan.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berlakunya syari`at Islam di NAD tidak berimplikasi kepada munculnya dualisme hukum pidana. Hukum pidana Islam yang berlaku di NAD baru sebagian kecil saja, yaitu; 1). Tentang Pelaksanaan Syari`at Islam Bidang Aqidah, Ibadah, dan Syi`ar Islam yang diatur oleh Qanun Nomot 11 Tahun 2002, 2). Tentang Minuman Khamar dan Sejenisnya yang diatur oleh Qanun Nomor 12 Tahun 2003., 3). Tentang Maisir (Perjudian) yang diatur oleh Qanun Nomor 13 Tahun 2003., 4). Tentang Khalwat (Mesum) yang diatur oleh Qunun Nomor 14 Tahun 2003., 5). Tentang Pengelolaan Zakat yang diatur oleh Qanun Nomor 7 Tahun 2004. Hukum pidana Islam itu hanya berlaku bagi masyarakat muslim (baik masyarakat NAD, maupun bukan) yang melakukan tindak pidana di NAD, sedang bagi non muslim tidak berlaku sama sekali, demikian juga masyarakat NAD yang melakukan tindak pidana di luar NAD. Dalam bentuk realitas belum ada perkara yang dimohonkan banding, apalagi kasasi ke Mahkamah Agung, karenanya belum terlihat adanya keputusan Mahkamah Agung yang membatalkan atau pun mengukuhkan putusan Mahkamah Syari`ah, dan Mahkamah Syari`ah Propinsi yang berdasar kepada qanun tersebut. Secara teoritis, dipahami bahwa Otonomi khusus yang seluas-luasnya bagi NAD untuk melaksanakaan syari`at Islam, mengantarkan kita untuk mempedomani prinsip hukum lex specialis derogat lex generalis (peraturan khusus dapat mengesampingkan berlakunya suatu peraturan yang bersifat umum), artinya KUHP & KUHAP tidak diberlakukan bagi masyarakat muslim di NAD sepanjang telah diatur oleh Qanun.

Abstrak Setiap perbuatan yang terjadi di gampong dapat diselesaikan dengan adat sebagaimana termuat dalam Qanun Aceh Nomor 9 Tahun 2008 tentang Pembinaan Kehidupan Adat dan Adat Istiadat, mengenai jenis-jenis sengketa adat yang diselesaikan melalui lembaga adat, termuat dalam pasal 13 ayat (1) Qanun tersebut, dalam hal ini terdapat 18 (delapan belas) kasus yang dapat diselesaikan secara adat, diantara lain ialah: perselisihan dalam rumah tangga, sengketa antara keluarga yang berkaitan dengan faraidh, perselisihan antar warga, khalwat/mesum, perselisihan tentang hak milik, pencurian dalam keluarga (pencurian ringan), perselisihan harta sehareukat, pencurian ringan, pencurian ternak peliharaan, pelanggaran adat tentang ternak, pertanian dan hutan, persengketaan di laut, persengketaan di pasar, penganiayaan ringan, pembakaran hutan (dalam skala kecil yang merugikan komunitas adat),pelecehan,fitnah, hasut, dan pencemaran nama baik. Pencemaran lingkungan (skala ringan), ancam mengancam (tergantung dari jenis ancaman), dan perselisihan-perselisihan lain yang melanggar adat dan adat istiadat. Permasalahan dalam skripsi ini adalah dengan melihat pertimbangan-pertimbangan Aparat Gampong terhadap perkara pidana adat yang sudah diselesaikan secara Adat kemudian dilimpahkan ke jalur peradilan. Sehingga penelitian ini diarahkan terlebih dahulu untuk menelusuri bentuk pidana adat dan prosedur penyelesaian pidana adat di gampong Lamgugob. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis. Sumber data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data kepustakaan (library research) dan data lapangan (field research), sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data dengan observasi (pengamatan) dan interview (wawancara). Adapun hasil penelitian tersebut menunjukkan bahwa pertimbangan pelimpahan pidana adat oleh Aparat Gampong, ada 5 pertimbangan yaitu: sanksi adat sebagai peraturan (reusam) gampong, kurang puasnya masyarakat pada sanksi gampong, wewenang dalam mengadili, adanya pemisahan antara Sanksi Adat dengan Hukum Syari’at, dan tidak ingin menghadirkan pihak keluarga pelaku. Adapun hasil pelimpahan perkara tersebut jalur peradilan (Wilayatul Hisbah) tidak diproses lebih lanjut, karena mereka tidak menginginkan adanya dualisme hukum sehingga kasus khalwat tersebut dikembalikan kepada gampong. Resumo:

Fenomena catcalling ( verbal street harassment ) merupakan sesuatu yang hampir selalu dialami atau disaksikan oleh setiap orang di dalam kehidupannya dengan perempuan sebagai korban sementara laki-laki cenderung untuk tidak diobjektifikasi secara seksual oleh orang-orang asing. Meski demikian, bukan berarti saya ingin mengatakan bahwa laki-laki terbebas dari ancaman sexual harassment. Penelitian ini menggunakan Metode Penelitian Kualitatif. Subjek Penelitian di pilih menggunakan menggunakan Teknik Purposive Sampling yaitu 15 Narasumber. Untuk Mendapatkan Data penulis Menggunakan 4 Teknik. Penggumpulan Data, yitu Peneliti ke Lapangan Langsung atau Kepustakaa, Observasi, Wawancara, serta Dokumentasi.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengetahuan dan bentuk-bentuk Catcalling kemudian apa factor yang mendorong terjadinya Catcalling. Tidak setuju tentang anggapan catcalling itu adalah tindakan iseng-iseng saja, ketika mengalami pelecehan seksual secara verbal (Catcalling) meereka sadar bahwa mereka saat itu sedang dilecehkan dan menganggap Catcagllin adalah himbauan yang berbaurkan nafsu. Bentuk-bentuk Catcalling yang terjadi di Pematang Panjang Sijunjung adalah Catcalling sering terjadi di tempat-tempat umum seperti pasar, jalanan dan tempat kerja. Catcalling yang sering terjadi yaitu siulan, kedipan, kode-kodean dan kata-kata gombal. Terjadi karena mereka cantik, bertubuh bagus, dan pakaian memperlihatkan lekuk tubuh.Laki-laki melakukan itu karena adanyaa rasa suka, otak mesum, ada penyakit Hiperseksual dan tidak pernah memiliki istri sama sekali. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa pengetahuan perempuan terhadap Catcalling sangat rendah dan utuk perempuan jika tidak ingin di goda laki-laki atau menjadi korban Catcalling jangan berpakaian yang memperlihatkan lekuk tubuh. Laki-laki melakukan Catcalling karena dia menyukai perempuan cantik dan merukan wanita idaman dia, dan untuk perempuan lain yang jadi korbannya dia iseng saja alasan dan penyeban mereka melakukan Catcalling karena mereka iseng dan mereka sangat menyukai perempuan yang bertubuh seksi atau perempuan yang memperlihatkan lekuk tubuhnya tapi mereka sangat mengistimewahkan perempuan yang menutup auratnya

Periodization of Islamic criminal politics in Aceh since 2000-2018 is the dynamics of the politics of Islamic criminal law in the Acehnese society in the application of Islamic law in Aceh Province carried out under the principle of lex specialis derogaatlege generalis. Periodization of Islamic criminal politics in Aceh from 2000-2018 with the issuance of Law No. 18 of 2001 concerning Special Autonomy for the Special Province of Aceh as the Province of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam which was implemented in Qanun Number 11 of 2002 concerning the Implementation of Islamic Sharia in the Aqeedah Islam, Qanun Number 12 of 2003 concerning Khamar and the like, Qanun Number 13 of 2003 concerning Maisir (Gambling), Qanun Number 14 of 2003 concerning Seclusion (Mesum) and Qanun Number 4 of 2004 concerning Management of Zakat. The politics of Islamic criminal law has developments with the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 11 of 2006 concerning Aceh Government. The mandate of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 11 of 2006 concerning the Government of Aceh in the application of Islamic criminal law is implemented through Qanun Number 6 of 2014 concerning Jinayat Law and Qanun Number 7 of 2013 concerning Jinayat Procedure Law which implements' Uqubat Cambuk on the mosque yard and / or open field has been running safely, orderly, unpretentious, effective and efficient. However, the period 20 is December 13, 2013. In this periodization the application of Islamic criminal law in accordance with Qanun Number 6 of 2014 concerning Jinayat Law and Qanun Number 7 of 2013 concerning Jinayat's Procedure Law runs smoothly and effectively. AbstractThe traditional subgenera of Colon Herbst containing the North American fauna are Colon s.str., Myloechus Latreille, and Eurycolon Ganglbauer. We use these and also describe Tricolon and Striatocolon as new subgenera. Identification of species in the genus Colon is taxonomically difficult because of allometric variation of external characters in males, and lack of distinctive characters in females. We present keys, illustrations, and descriptions to distinguish the known North American species. A total of 37 species names have been previously applied to Colon in North America. We designate lectotypes for Colon thoracicum Horn, C. asperatum Horn, C. oblongum Blatchley, C. dentatum LeConte, C. pusillum LeConte, C. putum Horn, C. hubbardi Horn, C. nevadense Horn, and C. liebecki Wickham. In the subgenus Myloechus: C. boreale, C. californicum, C. chihuahua, C. chiricahua, C. grossum, C. hatchi, C. hesperium, C. incisum, C. longitorsum, C. megasetosum, C. mesum, C. monstrosum, C. pararectum, C. potosi, C. similare, and C. xilitla. All these species are restricted to North America except for C. bidentatum and C. politum which are northern Holarctic. This yields 42 species recognized for the North American fauna. These beetles occur in forest, open woodland, and grassland habitats. Their larvae, biology, and food are still unknown.

Maraknya kasus kekerasan seksual yang terjadi belakangan ini tidak lagi hanya mengancam para remaja yang rentan terhadap informasi yang salah mengenai seks. Eksploitasi seks pada anak dibawah umur nyatanya juga sering terjadi oleh orang-orang terdekat yang bahkan dilakukan oleh keluarga korban sendiri. Meningkatnya kasus kekerasan merupakan bukti nyata kurangnya pengetahuan anak mengenai pendidikan seks yang seharusnya sudah mereka peroleh dari tahun pertama oleh orang tuanya. Tetapi persepsi masyarakat mengenai pendidikan seks yang masih menganggap tabu untuk dibicarakan bersama anak menjadi sebab yang harus dibenahi bersama untuk membekali anak melawan arus globalisasi yang semakin transparan dalam berbagai hal termasuk seksualitasPendidikan seks seharusnya menjadi bentuk kepedulian orang tua terhadap masa depan anak dalam menjaga apa yang telah menjadi kehormatannya, terlebih bagi seorang perempuan. Pendidikan seks menjadi penting mengingat banyaknya kasus-kasus yang terjadi mengenai tindak kekerasan seksual terhadap anak dan remaja. Tetapi yang terjadi di lapangan justru orang tua bersikap apatis dan tidak berperan aktif untuk memberikan pendidikan seks sejak usia dini kepada anaknya. Mereka beranggapan bahwa pendidikan seks akan diperoleh anak seiring berjalannya usia ketika ia sudah dewasa nanti. Mereka seolah menyerahkan pendidikan seks kepada pihak sekolah sebagai sumber ilmu bagi anaknya. Padahal pendidikan seks sendiri belum diterapkan secara khusus dalam kurikulum sekolah Kurangnya pengetahuan orang tua terhadap kebutuhan anaknya sendiri dalam mengahadapi tuntutan zaman yang semakin berkiblat ke arah barat menjadi faktor utama belum tersampaikannya pendidikan seks sejak usia dini di lingkup keluarga.Pandangan masyarakat sepertinya masih terlalu sempit dalam mengartikan seks yang hanya dianggap sebagai aktivitas mesum hingga ke hal-hal yang lebih intim. Makna seks sebenarnya menurut KBBI adalah jenis kelamin, maksudnya disini adalah jenis kelamin yang membedakan pria dan wanita secara biologis. Namun karena kurangnya pengetahuan para orang tua itulah yang menjadikan pendidikan seks belum diajarkan kepada anak bahkan sebagian besar remaja pun tidak memperoleh pengajaran tentang pendidikan seks dari keluarga terutama dari orang tuanya sehingga mereka mendapatkan informasi yang tidak tepat bahkan cenderung menjerumuskannya untuk melakukan apa yang mereka temukan dari informasi yang tidak bertanggung jawab tersebut.

Islam in Western thought has a very bad brand image and relative image. One western figure named Voltaire included an orientalist who insulted the Prophet Muhammad and the religion of Islam. The study aimed to find out specifically about Voltaire's understanding of the Prophet Muhammad and the religion of Islam, factors that influenced Voltaire in committing insults. The approach of the method chosen in this study is qualitative method, while the data used is sourced from literature review in the form of works written by Voltaire himself and the works of others on the work and thoughts of Voltaire. The results of the study said Voltaire initially hated Islam by mentioning the nascent religion and also called the Prophet Muhammad as a perverted many marrying women, girls and widows. Voltaire's reason for doing so was that he wanted to criticize the church's inappropriate policies through the issue of insulting Islam and the Prophet Muhammad. At the end of his history Voltaire upheld the tolerance of Islam and did not exist in Protestantism that is, Caliph Umar allowed Jews and Christians full freedom of conscience after the conquest of Jerusalem.AbstrakAgama Islam dalam pemikiran Barat mempunyai brand image dan citra relatif yang sangat buruk. Salah satu tokoh Barat yang bernama Voltaire termasuk seorang orientalis yang menghina Nabi Muhammad dan agama Islam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui secara khusus tentang pemahaman Voltaire terhadap Nabi Muhammad dan agama Islam dan faktor yang mempengaruhi Voltaire dalam melakukan penghinaan. Pendekatan metode yang dipilih dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Adapun data yang digunakan bersumber dari telaah kepustakaan berupa karya-karya yang ditulis sendiri oleh Voltaire dan karya-karya orang lain terhadap karya dan pemikiran Voltaire. Hasil penelitian menyebutkan Voltaire pada awalnya membenci Islam dengan menyebut agama yang baru lahir dan Nabi Muhammad sebagai seorang yang mesum dan menikah dengan banyak perempuan, baik gadis maupun janda. Alasan Voltaire berpendapat demikian karena dia ingin mengkritik kebijakan-kebijakan gereja yang tidak sesuai, menurutnya melalui isu menghina Islam dan Nabi Muhammad. Pada akhir hidupnya, Voltaire menjunjung tinggi toleransi yang ada pada agama Islam dan tidak ada pada agama Protestan seperti Khalifah Umar mengizinkan kebebasan dalam pelaksanaan agamanya bagi orang beragama Yahudi dan orang beragama Kristen, hal ini terjadi setelah penaklukkan Yerusalem.

Mesua assamica (King & Prain) Kosterm. (Calophyllaceae) was described in 1901 as Kayea assamica by King and Prain on the basis of specimens collected from the erstwhile Dibrugarh district of Assam, India. Later in 1969, the taxon was transferred from the genus Kayea to Mesua by Kostermans. As no holotype was designated by the authors either while describing the taxa or even while merging it with Mesua, a lectotype is designated here.

We have investigated the effects of guest molecule chirality on incorporation into octacalcium phosphate (OCP). OCP incorporates (S)-(−)-methylsuccinic acid (MeSuc), while no significant amount of (R)-(+)-MeSuc is incorporated. This enantioselectivity clearly indicates that OCP recognizes the steric structures of guest molecules.

The present research work involves formulation of herbal gel containing stem bark extracts of Mesua ferrea Linn and its evaluation for in vitro anti-inflammatory activity. The gel formulations were prepared using ethanolic extracts along with different polymer. The physiochemical parameters of formulations like; pH, viscosity and spreadability etc. also evaluated. Phytochemical analysis revealed presence of phenols, flavonoids and alkaloids, etc. The ethanolic extracts showed appreciable anti-inflammatory activity compared to the standard drug. Study confirmed that potential anti-inflammatory formulation can be developed from bark extract of Mesua ferrea Linn. The solid-state structure of bis(1-mesityl-1H-imidazole-κN 3)diphenylboron trifluoromethanesulfonate, C36H38BN4 +·CF3SO3 − or (Ph2B(MesIm)2OTf), is reported. Bis(1-mesityl-1H-imidazole-κN 3)diphenylboron (Ph2B(MesIm)2 + ) is a bulky ligand that crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pbcn. The asymmetric unit contains one Ph2B(MesIm)2 + cationic ligand and one trifluoromethanesulfonate anion that balances the positive charge of the ligand. The tetrahedral geometry around the boron center is distorted as a result of the steric bulk of the phenyl groups. Weak interactions, such as π–π stacking are present in the crystal structure.

The objectives of this study were to remove heavy metals from wastewater through the biosorption method with modified biomass as an effective sorbent and to prepare metal/biomass composites with the same modified biomass as a direct template. Eggshell membrane (ESM) was selected and modified to adsorb heavy metals. Adsorption of metal ions on the modified ESM (MESM) might be attributed to electrostatic interaction, ion exchange and coordination effect with chelating ligands containing N and S on the surface of the MESM. The pH of the solution was a key factor affecting the adsorption. The Cu–Ag/MESM composites with uniform Cu–Ag NPs were prepared with MESM as matrices, and with Cu 2+ and Ag + adsorbed as metal sources. The Cu–Ag/MESM showed excellent catalytic performance in the reduction of 4-nitrophenol to 4-aminophenol in the aqueous phase. Because of the high stability of the Cu–Ag NPs supported on the macro-dimension supporter, Cu–Ag/MESM can be easily separated after the catalytic reaction and recycled.

Dunia saat ini sudah memasuki era digitalisasi. Relasi antara anggota masyarakat yang satu dengan yang lainnya, dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi (TIK) yang berbasis internet. Namun kenyataannya, tidak seluruh masyarakat paham dengan TIK. Masih cukup banyak masyarakat yang masih gagap teknologi (gaptek). Untuk itu, diperlukan edukasi literasi digital, yakni proses pendidikan yang dapat mendorong masyarakat memahami informasi yang disampaikan secara digital. Salah satu faktor yang menunjang keberhasilan edukasi literasi digital adalah strategi komunikasinya. Proses itulah yang kini sedang dilaksanakan Kelompok Informasi Masyarakat (KIM) Medokan Semampir (Mesem), di Kecamatan Sukolilo, Surabaya. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan di KIM Mesem ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan tentang strategi komunikasi kepada pengelola KIM Mesem, agar nantinya edukasi literasi digital yang ditujukan kepada anggota KIM Mesem dan masyarakat sekitar, hasilnya lebih maksimal. Metode pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan melalui pengamatan (observasi), serta memberikan materi dan berbagi pengalaman tentang strategi komunikasi. Implikasi dari kegiatan ini diharapkan akan meningkatkan pemahaman dan pengetahuan tentang pentingnya edukasi literasi digital pada zaman yang serba digital seperti sekarang ini.

Intermittent snoring and cyclic oscillations of heart rate and oxyhaemoglobin saturation (Sao2) are characteristic features of the obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome (OSAS). Thus, overnight recordings of laryngeal sounds and heart rate by a portable device (MESAM) and of Sao2 by oximetry are applicable to screen outpatients for the presence of OSAS. Computerized analysis for time intervals of constant heart rate and intervals between snoring sounds is used by MESAM to quantify respiratory disturbances during sleep. Rapid increases in Sao2 during the postapnoeic hyperventilation period together with the number of desaturations are used by a new software for quantitative analysis of oximetry. To elucidate reliability of results from automatically scored MESAM and oximetry recordings, we compared the four computer calculated respiratory disturbance indices from heart rate (RDIH), snoring (RDIS), resaturations (RDIR) and desaturations (RDID) with the apnoea plus hypopnoea index (AHI) from simultaneously performed polysomnography. The study population consisted of 53 snorers with an AHI of 19.0 +/- 2.6 (median +/- SEM; range 0.7-87.8). Whereas both RDI's from MESAM correlated rather weakly with the AHI from polysomnography (RDIH: r = 0.32, p less than 0.05; RDIS: r = 0.33, p less than 0.05), this correlation was much better for the RDI's from oximetry (RDIR: r = 0.951, RDID: r = 0.93; p much less than 0.0001). Accepting a plus/minus 30 percent difference from the AHI, the RDIR classified 77% of patients correctly, the RDID 62%, the RDIS 32% and the RDIH 23%. In conclusion, results from computerized analysis of oximetry for desaturations and rapid resaturations correlate more closely with polysomnography than those from automatic scoring of MESAM recordings.

AbstractCentred on Thomas Brugis's popular Vade mecum, or A Companion for a Chyrurgion fitted for times of Peace or War (1651), this essay considers the role of the instructional book in early modern surgical knowledge and practice. By tracing the fortuna of the Vade mecum from production to use, it shows that, far from being static texts, instructional books were dynamic objects responding and adapting to the changing needs of knowledge communities. I begin by situating the Vade mecum within surgical practice more broadly in early modern England, which shows the key role that the practices of translation and compilation played in the production of surgical manuals. Most producers of surgical manuals were practitioners-turned-authors, and their works typically drew on a mix of lived experience both at the bedside and in the library. Brugis, who was exemplary in this respect, was particularly interested in providing instructions for hands-on practices involved in surgical operations and medicine production. In the last section, which focuses on readers and users, I analyse annotations and additional writings in surviving copies of the Vade mecum to recover the agency of reader–practitioners and trace collective ownership of the book across time and space.

Hulumtimi është i orientuar drejtë përcaktimit të nivelit të informimit dhe orientimit profesional të nxënësve në shkollimin e mesëm të ulët, si dhe në përcaktimin e disa teorive të cilat do të ndihmonin në orientimin e drejt profesional të nxënësve në shkollimin e mesëm të ulët. Ky hulumtim kuntitativ është përqendruar në grumbullimin dhe interpretimin e të dhënave përmes teknikave dhe instrumenteve të hulumtimit- anketimin, për të mbledhur të dhëna sa më reale rreth vlerësimit të gjendjes së nivelit të informimit dhe orientimit profesional të nxënësve të shkollimit të mesëm të ulët në komunën e Prizrenit.Hulumtimi është zhvilluar me 200 nxënës nga klasa e 6 (gjashtë) deri në klasën e 9 (nëntë) të shkollave të të dy mjediseve (urban, dhe rural) nga gjithsej 12097 nxënës ,pra 1,65% . Përmes të gjitha ecurive metodologjike u vërtetua hipoteza se “nxënësit e shkollimit të mesëm të ulët, të territorit të komunës së Prizrenit, nuk janë sa duhet të informuar për zgjedhjen e drejt të profesionit”. Konstatimet dhe rekomandimet e nxjerra nga ky hulumtim shpresojmë se do të jenë me dobi për mësimdhënësit në njërën anë dhe për vetë nxënësit të cilët gjinden para zgjedhjes së profesionit në anën tjetër.

<abstract><p>We consider the reconstruction of the compact support of an acoustic source given multiple frequency far field data. We propose a multi-frequency extended sampling method (MESM). The MESM computes the solutions of some ill-posed integral equations and constructs an indicator function to image the source. The behavior of the indicator function is justified. The method is fast and easy to implement. Various numerical examples are presented to show the effectiveness of the MESM for both frequency-independent and frequency-dependent sources.</p></abstract>

Abstract. Well-resolved air–sea interactions are simulated in a new ocean mixed-layer, coupled configuration of the Met Office Unified Model (MetUM-GOML), comprising the MetUM coupled to the Multi-Column K Profile Parameterization ocean (MC-KPP). This is the first globally coupled system which provides a vertically resolved, high near-surface resolution ocean at comparable computational cost to running in atmosphere-only mode. As well as being computationally inexpensive, this modelling framework is adaptable – the independent MC-KPP columns can be applied selectively in space and time – and controllable – by using temperature and salinity corrections the model can be constrained to any ocean state. The framework provides a powerful research tool for process-based studies of the impact of air–sea interactions in the global climate system. MetUM simulations have been performed which separate the impact of introducing interannual variability in sea surface temperatures (SSTs) from the impact of having atmosphere–ocean feedbacks. The representation of key aspects of tropical and extratropical variability are used to assess the performance of these simulations. Coupling the MetUM to MC-KPP is shown, for example, to reduce tropical precipitation biases, improve the propagation of, and spectral power associated with, the Madden–Julian Oscillation and produce closer-to-observed patterns of springtime blocking activity over the Euro-Atlantic region.

Abstract. Well-resolved air–sea interactions are simulated in a new Ocean Mixed Layer coupled configuration of the Met Office Unified Model (MetUM-GOML), comprising the MetUM coupled to the Multi-Column K Profile Parametrization ocean (MC-KPP). This is the first globally coupled system which provides a vertically resolved, high near-surface resolution ocean at comparable computational cost to running in atmosphere-only mode. As well as being computationally inexpensive, this modelling framework is adaptable – the independent MC-KPP columns can be applied selectively in space and time – and controllable – by using temperature and salinity corrections the model can be constrained to any ocean state. The framework provides a powerful research tool for process-based studies of the impact of air–sea interactions in the global climate system. MetUM simulations have been performed which separate the impact of introducing interannual variability in sea surface temperatures (SSTs) from the impact of having atmosphere–ocean feedbacks. The representation of key aspects of tropical and extra-tropical variability are used to assess the performance of these simulations. Coupling the MetUM to MC-KPP is shown, for example, to reduce tropical precipitation biases, improve the propagation of, and spectral power associated with, the Madden–Julian Oscillation and produce closer-to-observed patterns of springtime blocking activity over the Euro-Atlantic region.

Abstract The present study assessed the adsorption of an anionic dye (sulfur blue) by methyl-esterified eggshell membrane (MESM), a low-cost and abundant material from waste. Adsorption kinetics were investigated using parameters such as pH, contact time, initial dye concentration, solution temperature, dosage of adsorbent, and particle size of adsorbent. After methyl esterification, the specific surface area significantly increased and the negative surface charge of the eggshell membrane changed to positive for all pH values, which increased the sulfur dye sorption capacity. The optimal conditions for sorption of sulfur dye onto MESM resulted in >98% removal and were as follows: <35 μm particle size, pH 8, 20 min contact time and 313 K temperature. In this respect, 0.68–0.73 dry weight mg/L sulfur dye was adsorbed per 1 mg/L MESM. The Langmuir adsorption capacity for sulfur dye was 187.6 mg/g. In addition, sulfur removal was spontaneous and uptake was endothermic. MESM is an inexpensive and effective adsorbent.

Liver inflammation and necrosis are the foremost problems interlinked with diabetes mellitus (DM). The methanolic extract ofSargassum muticum(MESM) plays a hepatoprotective role in streptozotocin- (STZ-) induced hepatic injury. In this study, STZ exposure induced diabetes that augmented hepatic damage, which was reflected in serum enzyme markers, the cytokine network, and caspase-3 and caspase-9 levels in Group 2. Exposure to the MESM tremendously modulated the levels of hepatic enzyme markers ALP, ACP, ALT, and AST in Groups 3 and 4. The cytokine network was well regulated by suppressing the release of cytokines, and the levels of caspase-3 and caspase-9 were also reduced in Groups 3 and 4. The present study suggests that MESM treatment at 200 and 500 mg protected the liver and also minimizes the glucose level. Thus, the MESM plays a key role in rejuvenating the liver and can modulate diabetes’s pathogenic effect by reducing the glucose level.

Furano-napthyl-hydroxy cyclohexyl type of compound was isolated first times in plant from the ethyl extracts of the leaves of Mesua ferrea. The structure of the compound has been established by the modern spectroscopic techniques such as UV, IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and mass spectroscopy and identified as 12, 13-furano-8-hydroxy napthyl-6-0-b-2',3',4',6' tetrahydroxy-5',5' dimethyl cyclohexyl ether. Nagkesar (Mesua ferrea Linn.) belonging to the family Guttiferae, has a great medicinal value, so far, proper pharmacognostical and phytochemical studies of stamens have not been reported. Morphological and anatomical aspects as well as differential microchemical response have been worked out to identify the diagnostic features of the stamens. Physical constant values involving moisture content, ash and extractives as well as qualitative and quantitative estimation of various phytochemicals have been studied. The hydro-alcoholic extracts of Mesua ferrea were evaluated for anthelmintic activity using adult earthworms; the extract of Mesua ferrea exhibited a dose dependent inhibition of spontaneous motility (paralysis) and evoked responses to pin-prick. With lower doses the effects were comparable with that of albendazole. However, there was no final recovery in the case of worms treated with hydro-alcoholic extract. The result showed that the hydro-alcoholic extract possessed wormicidal activity and thus, may be useful as an anthelmintic.

Temat pieniądza zajmuje w Vade-mecum poczesne miejsce, proporcjonalnie do pozycji, jaka przypadła finansom i ekonomii w koncepcjach polityczno-społecznych oraz filozoficznych XIX stulecia. Tematyka „kapitałowa” pojawia się między innymi w takich ogniwach cyklu, jak Socjalizm, Larwa, Stolica, Prac-czoło, Syberie, [Co słychać?], Nerwy. Norwidowskie opus magnum kształtowało się w atmosferze wielkiego przesilenia gospodarki kapitalistycznej: kryzysu światowego po wojnie secesyjnej (1866), którego skutki pokazał w pierwszym tomie swego Kapitału (1867) Marks. Słynna publikacja niemieckiego ekonomisty stanowi ważny, choć w sensie ideowym – biegunowo odległy, kontekst Norwidowskiego cyklu. Ważną inspiracją były natomiast dla poety czytane w latach 40. dzieła Proudhona i zapewne innych socjalistów utopijnych (może Owena), proponujące rezygnację z dotychczasowych form pieniądza jako antidotum na kryzysy ekonomiczne i nędzę mas. W liście Norwida z 15 lipca 1867 roku (PW , IX, 297) pojawia się ponadto ślad lektury rozprawy Augusta Cieszkowskiego pt. Du Crédit, et de la Circulation (Paris 1839) oraz dowód kontaktów autora Vade-mecum z ekonomistą Ludwikiem Wołowskim, współzałożycielem i dyrektorem paryskiego banku Crédit Foncier de France (zał. w r. 1852), którzy przenieśli do Francji Napoleona III genialne pomysły kredytowe księcia Druckiego-Lubeckiego. Norwid podejmuje w Vade-mecum polemikę zarówno z utopijnymi pomysłami socjalistycznej gospodarki bezpieniężnej, jak i z polskimi koncepcjami organicystycznymi, osadzonymi na ekonomii zysku i wizji sukcesu gospodarczego. Dostrzega ich oderwanie od Dekalogu, kategorii „sumienia” i chrześcijańskiej soteriologii. Vade-mecum staje się próbą (romantyczną i chrześcijańską) przywrócenia spraw pieniężnych do ich pierwotnego kontekstu: idealnego i duchowego.

Abstract A warm bias in tropical tropopause temperature is found in the Met Office Unified Model (MetUM), in common with most models from phase 5 of CMIP (CMIP5). Key dynamical, microphysical, and radiative processes influencing the tropical tropopause temperature and lower-stratospheric water vapor concentrations in climate models are investigated using the MetUM. A series of sensitivity experiments are run to separate the effects of vertical advection, ice optical and microphysical properties, convection, cirrus clouds, and atmospheric composition on simulated tropopause temperature and lower-stratospheric water vapor concentrations in the tropics. The numerical accuracy of the vertical advection, determined in the MetUM by the choice of interpolation and conservation schemes used, is found to be particularly important. Microphysical and radiative processes are found to influence stratospheric water vapor both through modifying the tropical tropopause temperature and through modifying upper-tropospheric water vapor concentrations, allowing more water vapor to be advected into the stratosphere. The representation of any of the processes discussed can act to significantly reduce biases in tropical tropopause temperature and stratospheric water vapor in a physical way, thereby improving climate simulations.

Recent studies have described a biochemical pathway whereby lysosome disruption and the released proteases initiate the intrinsic apoptotic pathway. Irradiation of murine hepatoma 1c1c7 cells preloaded with the lysosomal photosensitizer NPe6 (N-aspartyl chlorin e6) caused a rapid loss of Acridine Orange staining of acidic organelles, release of cathepsin D from late endosomes/lysosomes and the activation of procaspase-3. Pretreatment of NPe6-loaded cultures with 10–50 μM 3-O-MeSM (3-O-methylsphingomyelin) caused a concentration-dependent suppression of apoptosis following irradiation. This suppression reflected a stabilization of lysosomes/endosomes, as opposed to an inhibition of the accumulation of photosensitizer in these organelles. Exogenously added sphingomyelin, at comparable concentrations, offered some protection, but less than 3-O-MeSM. Fluorescence microscopy showed that 3-O-MeSM competed with NBD-C6-sphingomyelin (6-{[N-(7-nitrobenz-2-oxa-1,3-diazol-4-yl)amino]hexanoyl} sphingosyl phosphocholine) for co-localization with LysoTracker Red in acidic organelles. Pre-treatment of 1c1c7 cultures with 3-O-MeSM also suppressed the induction of apoptosis by TNFα (tumour necrosis factor α), but offered no protection against HA14-1 [ethyl 2-amino-6-bromo-4-(1-cyano-2-ethoxy-2-oxoethyl)-4H-chromene-3-carboxylate], staurosporine, tunicamycin or thapsigargin. These results suggest that exogenously added 3-O-MeSM is trafficked to and stabilizes late endosomes/lysosomes against oxidant-induced damage, and further implicate a role for lysosomal proteases in the apoptotic processes initiated by TNFα and lysosomal photosensitizers.

This study aims to: (1) To find out how the Arabic vocabulary mastery of class VI students at MI Nurul Falah Air Mesu Timur before using the direct method. (2) To find out how the Arabic vocabulary mastery of class VI students at MI Nurul Falah Air Mesu Timur after using the direct method. (3) To determine the effect of the direct method on Arabic vocabulary mastery of sixth grade students at MI Nurul Falah Air Mesu Timur. The type of research used is quantitative, namely the influence of the direct method on students' Arabic vocabulary mastery. The test subjects in this study were class VI students of MI Nurul Falah Air Mesu Timur. Based on the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that the effect of the direct method on students' Arabic vocabulary mastery shows that the results of Ho are rejected and Ha is accepted with the results of the hypothesis test that the value of sig(2-tailed) = 0.000. Because the significant value is less than 0.05 which means that there is a direct method effect on Arabic vocabulary mastery of sixth grade students at MI Nurul Falah Air Mesu Timur. The significant effect of using the direct method on students' Arabic vocabulary mastery is increasing students' Arabic vocabulary mastery. Likewise, without the use of the direct method, the students' Arabic vocabulary mastery is relatively small.

Liczne opracowania na temat utworów wchodzących w skład Vade-mecum potwierdzają, że choć wiersze te cechują się ogromną wrażliwością etyczną i silnym rygoryzmem moralnym, trudno jest jasno określić światopogląd dzieła Norwida. Autor artykułu proponuje interpretację Vade-mecum z uwzględnieniem problematyki ironii romantycznej. Poeta posługuje się ironią jako narzędziem dochodzenia do nieuchwytnej Prawdy. Dystans ironiczny nie jest u niego dystansowaniem się od poglądów głoszonych w poszczególnych utworach, ale świadomością niedoskonałości języka, który może te poglądy fałszować. Ironia pomaga mu w dążeniu, by „odpowiednie dać rzeczy słowo”, nie pozwalając językowi upraszczać bądź redukować wyrażanych w poszczególnych utworach twierdzeń o charakterze moralnym.
