Permasalahan yang dikemukakan dalam penelitian ini adalah apakah brand characteristic dan company characteristic berpengaruh signifikan terhadap brand loyalty pada pelanggan tas Sophie Martin di Kota Pekanbaru dan faktor apakah yang dominan mempengaruhi brand loyalty pada pelanggan tas Sophie Martin di Kota Pekanbaru. Variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini adalah brand characteristic dan company characteristic. Sedangkan variable terikatnya adalah brand loyalty. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis regresi linier berganda. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh hasil bahwa faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi brand loyalty pada pelanggan tas Sophie Martin di Kota Pekanbaru adalah brand characteristic dan company characteristic. Faktor yang dominan mempengaruhi brand loyalty pada pelanggan tas Sophie Martin di Kota Pekanbaru adalah brand characteristic.

Research methodology The case combines primary and secondary data. There is ample public information about Martin Guitar including histories of the company and its instruments. These were used for background. Primary data were provided by the company in the form of customized data and interviews.. The case writer has served Martin Guitar as a consultant and also plays Martin instruments. The case writer had numerous opportunities to interview Chris and his key lieutenants. Case overview/synopsis In 2019, C.F. Martin IV (Chris) was in his fourth decade leading one of the America’s oldest family-owned companies, C.F. Martin & Co., Inc. Martin Guitar is a globally known maker of fine guitars that are prized by collectors, working musicians and amateur musicians. Chris was raised in the family business and took on the CEO’s position at the age of 30. The case describes the company’s management practices and the culture that has emerged from them. In 2019, at age 64, Chris confronted issues faced by his predecessors over multiple generations: how to prepare the company for succession, and maintain its strong performance as a family-owned company in a dynamic industry environment. Complexity academic level The case is designed for a management course for upper-level undergraduates.

Martin Luther King, Jr., gazes serenely, almost expressionless, in a somber suit and tie before a backdrop of prison bars. Around his neck hangs a booking number, “7089.” Around his head is a brilliant golden halo. The picture is not a mug shot but an icon in the Byzantine tradition. It is, as its Greek inscription says, “Holy Martin.” St. Martin Luther King.This icon is a popular piece of merchandise for a mail-order Company in Vermont. Each January, just before King's birthday they receive a flood of Orders. This phenomenon is an enigma, the fountainhead for a flood of questions. How can a black Baptist minister become the subject of a popular icon? What in American society and culture fostered its creation? Who invokes this great civil rights leader as a saint? But the most basic question is, how can Martin Luther King be considered a saint in the first place? Was it simply because he was slain for the cause of civil rights? Others died for the cause, and there are no icons of them.

The purpose of this study described consumer receptions of the fashion product brand image Sophie Martin Paris. This qualitative research used interview data collection techniques to fashion product consumer Sophie Martin Paris. Location in this study at Business Center (BC) Khusnul Khotimah Ngoro Mojokerto Sub-district. The results of this study indicated that consumer reception of fashion products Sophie Martin Paris showed a positive thing. Consumers provided a brand image or a good brand image of the products were distributed by Sophie Martin Paris company. That way audiences would trust and interested in buying and delivering positive assumptions about a product already distributed.

PATRIA Kobylí, Inc. is one of the traditional wine-growers and producers of quality wines based in southern Moravia. Farming on 152 hectares, PATRIA Kobylí supplies the market with more than 1 million litres of wine per year. It offers an assortment of 14 whites and 6 blue wines. The company focuses on wines designed for gastronomes and distributed to selected specialized wine-merchants. But since 2003, the sales of the company’s wines have been declining. The sales in the individual months of 2006 were the lowest for the last 6 years. But the aim of the company will not be to increase the sales volume but the wine quality and services and sales techniques and so to maintain its position in the market. The company started to analyze its strengths and weaknesses and extended its portfolio of Saint Martin wine and special wines and sparkling wines.

The purpose of the study is to examine if the gender composition of a board has an effect on a company’s financial performance by analyzing their operating margin and return on capital employed (ROCE). The study is based on a quantitative method, studying companies listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. Previous research has not been studying the gender composition of boards of Swedish companies and its effect on the company's financial performance in regard to their operating margin and return on capital employed. Therefore, this study has examined that in order to draw a conclusion regarding its possible effects. The data that is collected will be used as support in the analysis in order to understand how the current composition and effects are connected. This study will contribute with knowledge for companies in Sweden regarding gender composition of boards and the possible effects on their financial performance. But also, as support for the ongoing discussion regarding board composition and the current inequality in gender representation. In conclusion the study shows that return on capital employed and the proportion of women in the board has a positive relationship. Meaning that the bigger proportion of women in a board, the better return on capital employed the company has. However, for operating margin there was not a significant relationship and therefore a conclusion regarding that cannot be made.

This diploma thesis deals with an entrepreneurial plan concerning the development of the business company MISE s.r.o., Ltd. The company has been working on the market as a distributor of medical aids for diabetics. The theoretical part is focused on the general characteristic related to the topic. The following analytical part contains the company characteristic, market analysis, financial analysis, the analysis of the outer and inner environment, including the plan evaluation for further expansion. In the conclusion, I summarize both the strong and weak points of the company, and also the opportunities and threats. The proposal part is based on the defined summary of the analytical part. The individual actions will aim to assemble an entrepreneurial plan, which will lead to the company expansion.

Nous avons étudié dans ce travail les manières concrètes dont s’expriment les rapports entre le pouvoir et le théâtre au XVIIe siècle, époque où cet art était déjà associé au principe de diffusion de masse lui permettant de s’épanouir indépendamment du mécénat. Étant donné que le théâtre est à la fois une pratique et une littérature, notre enquête a été menée en deux temps. Nous nous sommes d’abord intéressés aux comédiens professionnels dont la plupart ont formé des troupes portant le nom d’un grand personnage. Cette réalité qui semble a priori évidente est pourtant révélatrice. L’histoire de la troupe royale de l’Hôtel de Bourgogne en constitue un excellent exemple. D’autres troupes de moindre importance peuvent, elles aussi, entretenir des rapports étroits avec leurs protecteurs. C’est par exemple le cas des comédiens du Grand Condé auxquels nous avons consacré la suite de nos réflexions. Mais la plupart du temps, ces troupes ambulantes ne sont pas à proximité de leurs bienfaiteurs. Elles sont plutôt en contact avec d’autres instances de pouvoir, le pouvoir municipal notamment. C’est ainsi que le premier volet de notre travail s’achève sur deux études de cas consacrées à Dijon et à Bruxelles, deux destinations favorites des troupes. Après avoir étudié les comédiens, notre investigation se poursuit en se focalisant sur les auteurs de théâtre. La question des rapports entre les dramaturges et les protecteurs s’inscrit dans un vaste sujet qu’est le patronage littéraire en général. Nous avons essayé de l’illustrer à travers l’exemple du patronage de Richelieu, précédé d’une enquête préliminaire sur la question des dédicaces qui a servi tout notre second volet
We studied in this work the concrete ways in which are expressed the relations between the power and the theater in the seventeenth century, when this art was already associated with the principle of mass distribution which allows it to flourish regardless of patronage. As the theater is both a practice and a literature, our investigation was conducted in two stages. We are primarily interested in professional actors, most of whom have formed theatre troops bearing the name of a powerful man. This reality seems a priori obvious is nevertheless revealing. The history of the Royal troupe of Hôtel de Bourgogne is a prime example. Other smaller companies maintain also close relations with their protectors. This is for example the case of the theater troop of Great Condé that we studied. But most of the time, these touring companies are not close to their patrons. Rather, they are in contact with other bodies of power, especially the municipal power. Thus the first part of our work ends with two case studies on Dijon and Brussels, two favorite destinations of theater troops. After studying the actors, our investigation continues by focusing on playwrights. The question of relations between playwrights and patrons is part of a vast subject that is the literary patronage in general. We tried to illustrate it through the example of the patronage of Richelieu, preceded by a preliminary inquiry into the question of dedication who served our whole second part

Mergers and acquisitions (M&A) are a popular way of growing a company. This is challenged by previous research that shows that an M&A-transaction generally harms the financial key metrics of the acquiring company. The main focus of this report is to examine if there is an effect on financial ratios for Scandinavian companies partaking in an M&A as an acquirer. The effect is captured by the movements in the key metrics return on equity (ROE), return on assets (ROA), return on invested capital (ROIC), EBIT-margin. In addition, both ESG-ranking and underlying non-financial values, like if the deal was domestic or not, the age of the executives and board gender diversity, are looked at for a better understanding of what differences there are between the performance of M&As.  A database of Scandinavian companies acting within Europe was created containing the specific deal characteristics over a period of three years prior as well as three years after the deal. The statistical methods used to analyze this data were Wilcoxon signed-rank test, bivariate Pearson Correlation and Independent Samples t-test. The generated results in the aggregated dataset showed a negative performance of ROE and ROIC in the period after the deal, compared to the period prior to the deal. This result was also seen in the sub-set of foreign deals with an additional negative performance of ROA for the acquirer while the sub-set of domestic deals did not show any significant negative performance in the period after the deal. We found that it was not possible to analyze the post-period effect on ESG-ranking as the data for our included companies was too scarce. Our findings suggest, when looking at our certain key metrics, that M&A-transactions are not economically justified and that executives might be partially motivated by something other than economic performance when deciding upon an M&A. It is furthermore possible to conclude that the disclosing of ESG data has not been a priority for companies in the past and continues to be ignored by the masses which makes it difficult to progress academically in this field.

The doctoral thesis is dealing with the questions about synergy business which is understood as clusters, strategic alliances and franchise. It investigates the influence of the selected synergy business on the change of the company value (market value or the objective one). The topic reacts on the contemporary economic trends where fusions and grouping of companies is happening in more levels. One of them is the fusion and acquisition. Second one are various forms of alliances and groupings which allows to companies cooperation, sharing of knowledge, marketing, risks, know-how etc. They allow to the small and middle size companies to increase their competitiveness against the big firms. The doctoral thesis is treating the effect of using one of the form of the synergy business, namely the franchise, on the company value. Because just the increase of the company value should be one of its basic goals. In the framework of the doctoral thesis was made a research with the goal to identify the changes of selected value generators, which determine as a whole the company value. On the basis of the research results there was made in the final part of the work model evaluation of some variants, simulating the value change caused by the change of the selected value generator and there was quantified the synergy effect coming from the use of synergy enterprise. At the end of the work there are summarised the results of the research and of the model determination of the company value, possible benefits for the practice and theory and there are mentioned some possible starting points for the following scientific work in this field.

Abstact South Bohemian Theatre in České Budějovice is an important kulture institution since the end of the First World War. Against many different peripeties is this theatre with four companies only one profesional scene in the South Bohemian Region. From 2004 till now were here thanks to theatre director Jiří Šesták substantially developed opera, operetta, ballet, drama and theatre for children and teen - agers. Since 2006, when Martin Glaser has become an art chief of the Drama Company, works this company on clear dramaturgy and style of performances. Martin Glaser with dramaturge Olga Šubrtová were focused on contemporary drama, on cooperation with eminent czech theatre directors or creators and specially for this company were created several dramas. Thanks to management and direction by Martin Glaser became the Drama Company of South Bohemian Theatre contemporary, respected and definable.

With a history of 40 years since the establishment in 1979, P is a specialist chemical company producing zinc and copper chemicals, with clients covering the ceramics, plastics, rubber, papermaking, shoemaking, electronics, steelworks, and fiber industries. In 2012, it became the bellwether of the R&D and manufacture of zinc and copper chemicals. In addition to Taiwan, it has plants in mainland China and Vietnam, winning the trust and support of over 1,000 clients worldwide through internationalization. As the leader of the industry, it has become an inseparable partner to various industries. To investigate what operational strategies company P has adopted from the establishment to facilitate its growth into the present-day scale, this study examines the growth process of company P with the ANSOFF matrix and analyzes the differences in product profit margin and corporate growth of company P adopting different operational strategies. This study discerns the development trend of Taiwan’s chemical engineering industry and company P with the in-depth interview and investigates the growth process of company P at different stages with the ANSOFF matrix. The analysis results show that product innovation and new market cultivation are the keys to success of company P. From manufacturing industrial chemical products at the beginning, it maximizes product profit and organizational growth through diversification to the high-tech industry and the cleaning agent industry.

AbstractThis study aims to examine the factors that influence the financing scheme of Islamic Rural Banks (IRBs) in Indonesia. The financing scheme consists of profit margin financing (PMF) and profit-sharing financing (PSF). Factors thought to influence the financing scheme are non-performing financing (NPF), financing to deposit ratio (FDR), capital adequacy ratio (CAR), return on assets (ROA), operating to income ratio (OEIR), and company size (Size). The population in this study was 163 IRBs in Indonesia with a sample of 100 IRBs. The observation period was 4 years, with quarterly data. Hypothesis testing applied multiple regression. The results show that the factors influencing the financing scheme between PMF and PSF are the same, namely, NPF and Size have a significant negative effect, while FDR, CAR, ROA and OEIR have no effect. One variable is OEIR; if the significance level is 10%, then OEIR has a significant and negative effect on the profit-sharing financing scheme, but the profit-margin financing scheme has no effect.

Abstract The chapter is about Martin Winterkorn, who was CEO of Volkswagen from 2007 to 2015 and who presided over “Emissionsgate” or “Dieselgate,” one of the worst scandals in corporate history. During the entire time that Winterkorn was chief executive, Volkswagen was installing a defeat device with the deliberate intention of misleading everyone from regulators to the buying public about the level of its vehicles’ emissions—the degree to which its products were polluting the air. Most of the chapter is divided into four sections each of which discusses one of the four previously mentioned phases. Each illustrates the process that begins with the leader promising the moon and the stars and ends in misfortune or even disaster. Winterkorn’s case was no exception. In the end, his career was over, and his company paid dearly for allowing its leader, and some of his followers, to cheat egregiously for almost a decade.

The CH-53K® King Stallion™ is the most advanced heavy lift helicopter developed by Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin Company, to address the requirements of the United States Marine Corps. The aircraft was designed to support missions with a maximum design gross weight of 88000 lbs and can carry external loads up to 36000 lb. Full-aircraft HELIOS calculations were performed for a CH-53K King Stallion including main rotor, tail-rotor, fuselage and detailed hub. Calculations were performed for various configurations, with main-rotor removed, tail-rotor removed, and isolated main and tail rotors to evaluate the multiple interactional effects. Comparisons of the total power show excellent agreement with the flight-test measurements.

Hermetic sealing of lids in ceramic microelectronic chip carriers is typically performed with eutectic solder in relatively large belt-style reflow furnaces. This process is characterized by 30 to 45-minute cycle times at temperatures above 350 C. An experimental study was undertaken with the goal of establishing a low-cost lid sealing method marked by a compact belt furnace with lower reflow temperature and lesser cycle time. This is particularly advantageous for GaAs devices which are limited to packaging process temperatures below 300 C. A series of instrumented test samples consisting of a representative die packaged in a HTCC leadless chip carrier (LCC) was prepared. Package lids were installed and sealed in a nitrogen environment with 80–20 Au-Sn lead-free solder under various cycle time and temperature conditions. Gross and fine leak testing confirmed hermeticity. Results indicate that practical sealing can be realized in the compact furnace apparatus with measurable reductions in temperature and cycle time. Seal performance is dependent upon package orientation, which suggests the process must be calibrated for unique package designs. Sandia is a multiprogram laboratory operated by Sandia Corporation, a Lockheed Martin Company, for the United States Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration under Contract DE-AC04-94AL85000.

This paper discusses the mechanism design and analysis methodology used within the Airframe and Mechanical Systems (AF&MS) design organization at Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin Company. The paper also highlights tools offered by 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) that allow the engineer to more efficiently design and analyze mechanisms. The methodology used by AF&MS utilizes design tables to drive the analysis of complex mechanisms through thousands of unique positions as well as to quickly iterate through design changes. This paper showcases the methodology and tools used through the example of a brake mechanism designed and analyzed by the author. The example goes step by step through determining requirements, initializing the design, and running the mechanism simulation. The paper will close with a second example summarizing the methodology and tools used.

Analytical methods used to determine weapon projectile trajectory relative to helicopter rotor blade tips during most conceivable maneuvers tend to provide insufficient safety margins to accurately define a safe firing envelope. The flight test team at Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin Company, was given the challenging task of measuring the weaponto-rotor-blade-tip clearance during these maneuvers. The first-generation methodology was entirely manual using a flat vertical projection screen tangentially aligned with the rotor tip path plane to visualize the intersection between the weapon's projectile and blade tip path. While the first flight test program utilizing this technique was successful in its own right, by the time a second opportune flight test program was initiated, software tools had been developed to help automate the process, drastically increasing the amount of data that could be used to correlate with other aircraft state parameters. During the data processing, a training set was created that was used to build an Artificial Intelligence (AI) capable of performing the same task while bringing the processing time down from 4-5 frames per second (fps) to 130 fps. This enables real-time AI inference to be taken from digital video cameras on the helicopter and clearance measurements real-time processed and recorded to the instrumentation system or displayed for the pilot's awareness.

Glass-to-metal seals are widely used in engineering applications, but are often plagued by cracking and loss of hermeticity despite design efforts to avoid these problems. Standard computational approaches typically rely on under-refined meshes and rule-of-thumb approaches that are not always effective. This paper investigates improvements to current practice in glass-to-metal seal design. First, material models with more extensive temperature dependence are used to enhance the accuracy of residual stress prediction. Second, a Weibull-statistics approach is adopted for the prediction of the likelihood of failure. These approaches are then applied to a simplified seal geometry. The paper demonstrates that the application of these methods, especially the Weibull-statistics approach, have difficulties that need to be addressed before this proposed set of approaches can be effectively used for seal design. Sandia is a multiprogram laboratory operated by Sandia Corporation, a Lockheed Martin Company, for the United States Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration under contract DE-AC04-94AL85000.

The U.S. Army developed an aggressive timeline to design, build, assemble and fly a clean sheet aircraft for the FARA (Future Attack and Reconnaissance Aircraft) program. FARA is one of the U.S. Army’s Future Vertical Lift programs to revolutionize their rotorcraft fleet. The FARA program’s timeline provided for approximately 40 months to bring a clean sheet aircraft to first flight. To achieve this timeline, Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin Company, developed a solution set to reduce lead time developed specifically for the FARA program. This solution set contained Product Enablers, Process Enablers and Manufacturing Enablers to reduce lead time across the entire enterprise. A lead time metric was developed that calculates the duration from when a final design is released until the first unit completes manufacturing. This metric was applied to a recent program for similar parts to create a baseline for comparison. In this paper we take a critical path FARA component and explain how the solution set was applied. The results show a greater than 50% reduction in lead time for this component.

Marine spatial planning is growing in use as a tool to aid management efforts in coastal and ocean systems. In this exercise, we briefly review the history and rationale behind marine spatial planning and consider its relationship to and use in ecosystem-based management. We then outline an activity that introduces students to marine spatial planning through the use of SeaSketch (http://training-barbuda.seasketch.org). SeaSketch is a web-based program that allows users to create, analyze, and compare how marine protected areas and networks contribute to achieving conservation goals. Building on the use of SeaSketch to engage stakeholders in the creation of reserve networks off the island of Barbuda, students use a SeaSketch training environment to create networks of marine protected areas that meet habitat protection goals and consider how these networks impact local species and human fishing value. After creating and analyzing individual networks, students engage in small- and large-group discussions to consider and compare alternative plans and decide on final choices. At each of these levels, students can compare their chosen plans to the zoning regulations that were approved in Barbuda. A supplementary PowerPoint presentation accompanies the exercise.

Microplastics and marine pollution are emerging environmental issues around the world. In South Korea, styrofoam buoys are one of the primary sources of microplastics. The article addresses current limitations regarding environmental efforts done to reduce styrofoam buoys at governmental and company levels. The article introduces one solution to the problem, a new eco-friendly buoy made of biodegradable material with enhanced durability and sustainability. The article proposes potential campaigns and activities to raise awareness of the issue and encourage using eco-friendly buoys.

The aims of these case studies have been to compare different approaches taken towards marine protection in Northland and to understand the composition of effective marine protection campaigns, within the context of collaborative approaches to environmental management and the communicative processes underpinning these engagements. The report provides a number of insights into how contemporary marine protection campaigns have been developed and the place of cross-cultural (Māori – non-Māori) collaboration and communication within these processes.

Export promotion agencies provide exporters with a broad range of services, going from counseling to sponsoring their participation in international trade missions and fairs. These services may have heterogeneous effects and thus contribute differently to achieve the goals of these organizations. Empirical evidence on their relative effectiveness is rather limited. This paper aims at filling this gap in the literature. We compare the impact of different public trade promotion programs on the extensive and intensive margin of firms¿ exports, both to each other and with respect to no participation in these activities, by applying multiple treatment matching difference-in- differences on highly disaggregated export data for the whole population of Colombian exporters over the period 2003-2006. We find that the use of programs combining different services is associated with better export performance, primarily along the country-extensive margin, than their basic individual components.
