This article discusses the President Joko Widodo’s poros maritim dunia or global maritime axis and the Indonesian foreign policy. This policy optimistically to strengthen Indonesia’s maritime capability and also to reviving the country as maritime super power as in the early history. Once Joko Widodo seizes the mandate after his dramatic victory in the last presidential election 2014, political polarization becomes a serious challenge to his administration. Yet, at the same time he obtained a huge international attention. Thus, this article attempt to understand Joko Widodo’s maritime policy from foreign policy perspective. Basically, foreign policy is determined by two factors namely international and domestic. To be more systematic, this article divided into five sections i.e.; introduction, maritime axis and Jokowi’s foreign policy, maritime axis and domestic politics, maritime axis and neighboring countries, and conclusion

The formulation of the problem in this study is the extent to which the influence of debt to equity ratio, working capital turnover, fixed asset turnover and gross profit margin on income smoothing practices at PT. Global Maritim Industri. The research method used in this research is a quantitative approach. The population in this study is the monthly financial statements of PT. Global Maritim Industri which consists of 48 financial statements for 2017 - 2020. The sampling method is purposive sampling, a sample of 40 financial reports per month PT. Global Maritim Industri. The data analysis model used to answer the hypothesis is multiple regression. The results showed that the debt to equity ratio, working capital turnover, fixed asset turnover and gross profit margin simultaneously had a simultaneous effect on income smoothing practices at PT. Global Maritim Industri. And partially working capital turnover and fixed asset turnover affect the practice of income smoothing at PT. Global Maritim Industri. However, debt to equity ratio and gross profit margin have no effect on income smoothing practices at PT. Global Maritim Industri. AbstrakPenggunaan historical fiction pada media populer seperti komik, film, game, dan lain-lain dengan pendekatan hiburan banyak menarik minat masyarakat untuk melihat berbagai fenomena sejarah. Penyampaian dengan pendekatan hiburan ini tentunya menjadi kekuatan dari genre historical fiction untuk dapat digunakan dalam mengangkat berbagai tema-tema sejarah Indonesia. Salah satu fenomena penting dalam sejarah maritim Indonesia yang tidak umum diketahui adalah fenomena ‘bajak laut’. Fenomena bajak laut yang marak di Indonesia pada masa kolonial merupakan bagian dari sejarah Nusantara yang penting karena pada dasarnya fenomena bajak laut di Nusantara tidak sepenuhnya merupakan gejala kriminal, namun juga merupakan bentuk perjuangan masyarakat maritim terhadap para penjajah pada masa lampau. Mengangkat tema ‘bajak laut’ melalui genre historical fiction dapat menjadi upaya untuk menyampaikan peristiwa sejarah maritim melalui pendekatan hiburan dan juga dapat membuka sudut pandang baru bagi masyarakat dalam melihat fenomena ‘bajak laut’ itu sendiri. Komik sebagai media hasil perancangan dipilih dengan melihat potensi media komik dan antusiasme pembaca komik di Indonesia yang sangat tinggi. Perancangan menggunakan metode design thinking and making dari Matt Cooke mulai dari tahap definition, divergent dan transformation menjadi tahapan yang digunakan dalam proses perancangan untuk menghasilkan karya desain yang terstruktur dan bisa menjangkau audiens dengan mudah dan luas. Kata Kunci: bajak laut, historical fiction, komik, Nusantara AbstractThe use of historical fiction in popular media such as comics, films, games, and others with an entertainment approach has attracted a lot of public interest in various historical phenomena. The presentation with entertainment approach is one of the potential of historical fiction genre and can be used in conveying Indonesian history. One of the most important phenomena in Indonesia's maritime history that is not commonly known is the story of 'piracy'. Piracy that flourished in Indonesia during the colonial period was an important part of maritime history because it was not entirely a criminal phenomenon, but was also a form of the battle against the colonialists. Bringing up the theme of 'piracy' through the historical fiction genre can be an effort to convey maritime historical events through an entertainment approach and can also open new perspectives for the public in seeing the phenomenon of 'piracy' itself. Comics were chosen by considering the potential of comics media and the high enthusiasm of comic readers in Indonesia, by using the Matt Cooke’s design thinking and making method from the definition, divergent and transformation it is hoped that the comics can become a medium that can reach an audience easily and widely. The Musi River has an important role in historical periodization in Palembang, especially during the Srivijaya period. However, the role of the Musi river has not been conveyed so often in the concept of learning local history and its relation to maritime affairs. Based on these conditions, this study aims to examine the maritime aspects of the Musi River as a means of learning local history. The method used is a qualitative method using a historical approach. The role of the Musi river in Indonesian maritime needs to be developed for learning local history. This is very important because Sriwijaya's maritime glory was also influenced by the Musi river. This role can be explained through maritime aspects, namely trade, shipping, shipping, maritime traditions, sea mythology, piracy, fisheries, law of the sea. Based on exploring these maritime aspects, the material on the Musi river becomes broader and contextual to be applied in learning local history based on the basic competencies of the curriculum.

This article aimed to review a book that explained maritime affairs entitled Jaringan Maritim Mandar: Studi tentang Pelabuhan “Kembar” Pambauwang dan Majene di Selat Makassar 1900-1980 written by Abd. Rahman Hamid in 2021. The book, an important contribution to national historiography, discussed maritime history and networks in Indonesia. In the Mandar case study, it had two “twin” ports, namely Pambauwang and Majene. This was based on the author's experience working in the maritime field from 2010 to 2020. However, the book, originally the author’s dissertation in the History Program at the University of Indonesia and was compiled two years ago, was still deemed necessary for review to provide an assessment of the book and other matters related to the structure of the writing. This book review article was written using the descriptive-analytic method, which began with an explanation of the background of the book’s writing, a review of previous works, the sources used, and the systematics of the book. Then, an analysis was carried out with various other sources in the form of books, journals, and final assignments, which had the same material. Other important aspects included the relationship between chapters, the advantages and disadvantages of books, and their academic benefits.

The Maritime Museum plays a crucial role in preserving and disseminating knowledge about maritime culture and history. In an effort to expand the functions and appeal of this museum, the application of the right architectural concept is paramount. This research explores how the application of the narrative architecture concept can be used to design an extension of the Maritime Museum. Narrative architecture, which incorporates storytelling elements into its design, allows visitors to experience and understand maritime history more deeply and interactively. Through case study analysis and field observations, this research identifies key elements that must be considered in the design of the extension. The research findings show that integrating elements of maritime culture and history into architectural design can enhance visitor experience, strengthen the museum's identity, and support cultural conservation efforts. The narrative architecture approach not only enriches the aesthetic value of the building but also significantly contributes to the education and preservation of maritime heritage. Recommendations include involving the local community and maritime experts in the design process, as well as adopting new technologies to create more interactive and engaging spaces for various visitor groups. Additionally, education programs and community-based activities focused on maritime culture are suggested to increase public engagement and support the preservation of maritime heritage. Thus, the Maritime Museum can become a dynamic, relevant, and inspiring center for education and cultural preservation for all generations. This inclusive and collaborative approach will not only enhance the museum's appeal but also ensure that the values of maritime culture and history remain alive and understood by the wider society. Keywords: extension; maritime culture; maritime history; narrative architecture Abstrak Museum Bahari memegang peran penting dalam pelestarian dan penyebaran pengetahuan mengenai budaya dan sejarah bahari. Dalam upaya untuk memperluas fungsi dan daya tarik museum ini, penerapan konsep arsitektur yang tepat menjadi sangat krusial. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana penerapan konsep arsitektur naratif dapat digunakan untuk merancang ekstensi Museum Bahari. Arsitektur naratif, yang menggabungkan elemen-elemen cerita dalam desainnya, memungkinkan pengunjung untuk merasakan dan memahami sejarah bahari secara lebih mendalam dan interaktif. Melalui analisis kasus studi, observasi lapangan, penelitian ini mengidentifikasi elemen-elemen kunci yang harus dipertimbangkan dalam perancangan ekstensi tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi elemen-elemen budaya bahari dan sejarah bahari dalam desain arsitektur dapat meningkatkan pengalaman pengunjung, memperkuat identitas museum, dan mendukung upaya konservasi budaya. Pendekatan arsitektur naratif tidak hanya memperkaya nilai estetika bangunan, tetapi juga memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap edukasi dan pelestarian warisan bahari. Saran yang diberikan mencakup melibatkan komunitas lokal dan pakar maritim dalam proses desain, serta mengadopsi teknologi baru untuk menciptakan ruang yang lebih interaktif dan menarik bagi berbagai kalangan pengunjung. Selain itu, program pendidikan dan aktivitas berbasis komunitas yang berfokus pada budaya bahari juga disarankan untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan publik dan mendukung pelestarian warisan maritim. Dengan demikian, Museum Bahari dapat menjadi pusat edukasi dan pelestarian budaya yang dinamis, relevan, dan menginspirasi bagi semua generasi. Pendekatan yang inklusif dan kolaboratif ini tidak hanya akan memperkuat daya tarik museum tetapi juga memastikan bahwa nilai-nilai budaya dan sejarah bahari tetap hidup dan dipahami oleh masyarakat luas.

This article discusses two basic points: firstly, Indonesian Maritime Trade and secondly, Oceanic Anthropological History. The first point will be studied in classical comprehension spectrum related to maritime wealth and the image of Indonesians’ competency image in the past all at once. The second point focuses on anthropological speculation concerning unity and wholeness of various lands in Oceania. Some official sources become the reference in this article, including our study that has been conducted for almost 6 years, since 2015 – today (2020) and is still continued. Specific source becoming special reference in this article is the application of historical reflection by Bernard H.M. Vlekke entitled Nusantara: A History of Indonesia (1961), a work revealing the historical evidence of Archipelagic (Indonesian) civilization in the past.

This article discusses archaeological research of shipwrecks as a form of underwater cultural heritage with special reference to ancient shipwrecks and their cargoes discovered in Peninsular Malaysia from 1907 to 2019. The discussion will include the formation process of underwater cultural heritage, especially the discoveries of shipwreck sites and cargoes which have connections as well as trade, cultural and political relationships with early maritime kingdoms in Southeast Asia. The significance of shipwreck sites in the development of archaeological shipwrecks in Peninsular Malaysia will also be discussed in the contexts of research and education of our national history. This is important for the early development of maritime archaeology’s potential, particularly on shipwrecks from the 1990s to the early first decade of the 21st century.

Sothat the palace and the traditional institutions contained inside running to regulate the people.Secondly Pamalayu Expedition is a military diplomatic expedition carried out by theSingasari Kingdom during The King Kertanagara’s dated 1275-1293 against the Malay’sKingdom (also known as the Kingdom of Dharmasraya or the Kingdom of Jambi). At thattime, the Singasari Kingdom wanted the entire Southeast Asian region to be ruled. Surelythey already understood the maritime, defense equipments and the shipping knowledge. The thirdly Srivijaya as the monumenthal of the first millennium in the maritime world,was able to remove the silk’s journey which was originally by land, then changed by seaand cancelled the Tordesilas Agreement made by the Papacy which divided the sea intotwo regions namely the western and eastern regions. Srivijaya could prove and dismissthe notion that parts of the sea after India were apparently not ruled by hooligans, pirates,and etc. The fourthly Majapahit Kingdom was able to unite and organize all the maritimeelements in the archipelago led by the sea commander in comand named Ranggalawe andsupported by the national shipping conglomerate at the time named Nyai Kanggotan whohad a shipping industry centered in Tuban with the strength of forces more than 3200 Javajung or Javanese tradicional ships.

The issue of globalization is booming recently, but it is not really a new thing in the history of human civilization. However, the issue of globalization in the past, -particularly in Archaeological perspective- is not too much discussed among social sciences in Indonesia. This paper aims to open the isolation by understanding the processes of globalization and its correlation to the maritime trade through archaeological data based on human remains from Leran burial site, Rembang, Central Java. Research method used in this paper is Bioarchaeological approach based on dental metric and non-metric characters analysis which performed to determine the biological affinity of Leran people in comparison with some samples from surrounding area. The result could be seen that the Leran population has a fairly diverse biological affinity which correlated to the strategic position of this site in the ancient global network of maritime trade.Isu globalisasi yang saat ini sedang marak dibicarakan, sesungguhnya bukan hal yang baru dalam sejarah peradaban manusia. Namun, studi mengenai globalisasi dalam perspektif masa lampau khususnya arkeologi, sampai saat ini tidak banyak didiskusikan di antara ilmu-ilmu sosial di Indonesia. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk memahami proses globalisasi yang berhubungan dengan pelayaran dan perdagangan maritim melalui data arkeologis, berupa sisa rangka manusia dari situs Leran, Rembang, Jawa Tengah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan bioarkeologis melalui analisis karakter metrik dan non-metrik gigi geligi untuk mengetahui afinitas biologis manusia Leran dalam perbandingannya dengan beberapa sampel populasi dari kawasan sekitarnya. Hasilnya dapat diketahui bahwa populasi Leran memiliki diversitas afinitas biologis yang cukup beragam berhubungan dengan posisi strategis situs tersebut dalam jaringan perdagangan maritim global masa lampau.

History records that the archipelago is an area with more waters than land. This has been realized by the royal leaders in the archipelago. Since the days of the Srivijaya Kingdom, the Singosari Kingdom and the Majapahit Kingdom have made the sea a real force to build a kingdom. Sea or maritime is not only a support for economic power but more than that. Mari- time has become a geopolitical force to unite the archipelago. Geopolitical power has strength- ened the steps of the kingdoms in the archipelago to increase their political bargaining power against countries in the surrounding region and countries in the world. The strengthening of maritime as a geopolitical force will of course have implications for other sectors, especially in the development sector of land transportation and sea transportation. This implication is very well understood by the leaders of this country. But still until now, maritime development must be put forward because the strength and bargaining value of this country rests on maritime affairs. Apart from being a geopolitical power, there is also a very large economic power contained in it. Even though Indonesia was late in realizing this, President Gus Dur had formed a Department of Marine Exploration which is now the Ministry of Maritime Affairs. Indonesia’s maritime geopolitical strength has been identified in three main straits which are used by the international community as a passage for various ships with large weights so that Indonesia must be more closely monitoring these sea lanes. The three straits are the Malacca Strait, the Sunda Strait and the Lombok Strait. Indonesia must be able to regulate international maritime shipping so that it can play a strategic role in the world political arena.

Starting from the 2013 curriculum, character values are mandatory to be instilled in students. Cultivating these character values is carried out to overcome the moral downturn that has hit this country. These character values are contained in the textbook which is a reference for teachers and students in carrying out learning at school. In this study, the researcher wanted to analyze the character content contained in the history textbook for class XI of the 2013 revision of the 2016 curriculum on the material of the Maritime Sultanate of the Islamic Period in the archipelago. The approach used in this research is descriptive qualitative. To collect data, it was done by reviewing the literature, and analyzing the character content in the history textbook, qualitative data analysis was used by the researcher in this study, and the history textbook for class XI in the 2013 revision of the 2016 curriculum was the data subject used in this study. This research shows that the material of the Maritime Sultanate of the Islamic Period in the archipelago in the history textbook for class XI of the 2013 revision of the 2016 curriculum contains character values in it. The characters developed are polite, peace-loving, and mutual cooperation. The conclusion is that the history textbook for class XI fulfills the instruments of the curriculum itself.Mulai kurikulum 2013 nilai-nilai karakter menjadi hal yang wajib untuk ditanamkan dalam peserta didik. Penanaman nilai-nilai karakter tersebut dilakukan untuk mengatasi keterpurukan moral yang sudah melanda di negeri ini. Nilai karakter tersebut dimuat dalam buku teks yang merupakan acuan pengajar dan siswa dalam melangsungkan pembelajaran di sekolah. Pada penelitian ini peneliti ingin menganalisis muatan karakter yang ada dalam buku teks sejarah kelas XI kurikulum 2013 revisi 2016 pada materi Kesultanan-Kesultanan Maritim Masa Islam di Nusantara. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif kualitatif. Untuk mengumpulkan data dilakukan dengan cara telaah kepustakaan, dan menganalisis muatan karakter yang ada di dalam buku teks sejarah, analisis data kualitatif digunakan oleh peneliti dalam penelitian ini, serta buku teks sejarah kelas XI kurikulum 2013 revisi 2016 merupakan subjek data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian ini mendapatkan hasil bahwa pada materi Kesultanan-Kesultanan Maritim Masa Islam di Nusantara dalam buku teks sejarah kelas XI kurikulum 2013 revisi 2016 sudah ada muatan nilai-nilai karakter di dalamnya. Adapun karakter-karakter yang dikembangkan yaitu santun, cinta damai, dan gotong royong. Kesimpulan yang didapat bahwa dalam buku teks sejarah kelas XI tersebut telah memenuhi instrumen dari kurikulum itu sendiri

This study reviews Indonesia's Multilateral Cooperation as a Counter Strategy Against Maritime Policy in the Sulu Sea. This study aims to describe Indonesia's multilateral cooperation, and the impact of Indonesia's multilateral cooperation in the Sulu Sea. This type of research is qualitative research where information and data are collected systematically and contextually, through online research, library research, and case study research. This research wants to find out how the trilateral cooperation efforts carried out by the countries of Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines are in the face of threats to security stability in the Sulu Sea. In the efforts made by the three countries to be able to maintain security stability by conducting Maritime Command Centers, Maritime Trilateral Patrols, Trilateral Air Patrols and port visits. Studi ini mengulas tentang Kerja Sama Multilateral Indonesia sebagai Strategi Perlawanan Terhadap Kebijakan Maritim di Laut Sulu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan kerjasama multilateral indonesia, dan dampak kerjasama multilateral Indonesia di Laut Sulu. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dimana informasi dan data dikumpulkan secara sistematis dan kontekstual, melalui online research, literature research, dan case study research. Dalam penelitian ini ingin mengetahui bagaimana upaya kerja sama trilateral yang dilakukan oleh negara Indonesia, Malaysia dan Filipina dalam menghadapi adanya ancaman stabilitas keamanan di Laut Sulu. Dalam upaya yang dilakukan ketiga negara tersebut agar dapat menjaga adanya stabilitas keamanan ini dengan melakukan Maritime Pusat Komando, Patrol Maritime Trilateral, Patroli Udara Trilateran dan kunjungan pelabuhan.

This article aims to review the existence of coastal cities based on structuralism theory to understand the urgency of studying maritime history in the archipelago. The archipelago has a vast ocean expanse that allows interaction between individuals in maritime activities, namely shipping, and trade. On the other hand, it also had consequences; the arrival of foreigners to the archipelago significantly impacted maritime conditions, especially in forming coastal city structures and several other supporting elements. The study used the historical method. The stages were heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Of all these things, this article discusses three structuralism ideas by Fernand Braundel and their relations to studying maritime history in the archipelago, including longue durée, conjoncture, and evenementiel.

Maritime trade is an economic activity carried out through sea routes such as exports and imports, the main function of maritime trade is to improve the economy of a country and the welfare between entrepreneurs, this maritime trade is not only carried out by two countries but can even be between one country and one organization that has members with several countries in it such as ASEAN. The purpose of this study is to provide knowledge about the role of maritime trade in the history of the economy in ASEAN. The results of this study explain the influence of maritime trade on the economic development of ASEAN and ASEAN member states. ASEAN is an organization formed with the aim of improving the economies of the countries in Southeast Asia consisting of Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Philippines, Myanmar, Laos. This study uses qualitative research with a library study approach to research accurate and relevant data so that readers can easily understand the range of knowledge from this research.

Japan and the Philippines are countries rich in history, culture, and natural wealth closely tied to the sea. Japan has engaged in maritime diplomacy with the Philippines in the realm of security. Maritime security cooperation between the two nations forms the foundation for collaboration in the management of marine resources, cultural exchanges, economics, and maritime security. The objective of this research is to examine the impacts that can result from Japan-Philippines cooperation on Japan's maritime security. This research employs a mixed-methodology to elucidate the scope and impacts stemming from Japan-Philippines cooperation on Japan's maritime security. The research findings demonstrate that the impact of Japan-Philippines cooperation on maritime security provides critical access and plays a vital role in strengthening regional security in the area. Success in achieving assured maritime security conditions has positive effects on Japan in various sectors, especially in the trade sector. This leads to an increase in trust and facilitates smooth trade activities in the maritime region due to guaranteed maritime security. This approach reflects Japan's commitment to being more proactive in upholding global maritime security and collaborating with its regional partners to achieve shared prosperity and peace in the region and the world.

This paper explains three important factors that affected the history of Wakatobi economic area shifting in Southeast Sulawesi.First, global market commodities such as duralex, bicycles, motorbikes, mechanized boats were easier to find and came earlier in this area than other regions.Second, illegal trading (smuggling) was likely to happen because of the lax of authorities in guarding its sea areas between 1950’s-1990’s.Third, the capital accumulation in this area pushed the improvement of the economic infrastuctures that lead to market expansion to Eastern Indonesia.

Studies on Southeast Asian Islam tend to analyze the culture of landed population rather than ocean and littoral-based dwellers. When in fact, the ocean landscape is more extensive and its culture has harbored many dramatic events in the course of human history. Through oceans and their surrounding places of cultural formation, Islam has grown and developed with local cultures in the mutual relation. This study attempts to identify manifestations of Islam among Southeast Asian seafarers Muslim of archipelago in their daily life and historical context. By investigating the experience of Eastern Indonesian seafarers such as the Bugis, Makasar, Mandar, Buton and Bajo people who have interacted with ocean life extensively, this study probes the process of Islamization and identifies the various ideas, practices, meanings and world-views of the Sea People in forging Islam and their culture. Based on the experience of Muslim agents who had a strong maritime ethos and focus on trade and proselytization in playing their social role, Islam and maritime culture have seemingly constituted two good relations to each other. The different reception and negotiation of Islam in maritime culture among Nusantara ethnic groups is interesting to analyze and help to conceptualize ‘Maritime Islam’ which has not been sufficiently studied by scholars to date. By combining secondary sources and field findings, this study explores the world-view of Nusantara Muslims and underscores the fact that Islam is not a single entity, but a plural and diverse phenomena.

The community's economic activities are also dependent on Indonesia's maritime potential, both in terms of natural resource management as well as marine industry and services. So, to optimize the pace of the national maritime economy, it’s very necessary to have consistent evaluation, strategy, and anticipation by the government in each region of Indonesia. Therefore, the author wants to analyze how big the government's role is in utilizing Indonesia's maritime potential, specifically fishery resources in Bima City, West Nusa Tenggara Province. The results of the analysis show that the Bima City government has basically made maximum efforts in developing its fishery resources, but has not yet achieved the strategic goals as written in the Bima City Marine and Fisheries Service Strategic Plan for 2018-2023.

This study aims to investigate the development of the maritime economy within the socioeconomic of the Manjung district from 1874 to 1935. The Manjung district, previously known as the Dinding district, was a significant area in the history of trade and maritime activities. Major ports along the Dinding River, Lumut, and Pangkor Island played crucial roles as centers of trade and local socioeconomic development in the Dinding district. This study combines quantitative and qualitative methods to provide a comprehensive understanding. The qualitative method involves document analysis sourced from the National Archives and public higher education institutions in Malaysia, in addition to referencing secondary materials such as history books and journals. Primary sources include Dindings Rural Board, Selangor State Government Secretary, High Commissioner’s Office and the Perak Forest Office. The quantitative method includes statistical data analysis. The findings of the study indicate that the socioeconomic of the Dinding district developed with diverse economic sources, particularly from agriculture, logging, and maritime economic resources. The ports functioned as maritime administrative centers and were pivotal points in the export and import activities of local economic products. In conclusion, the Dinding district contributed to the economic profit of the British under the administration of the Straits Settlements, especially in the maritime economy. The British administrative system regulated the socioeconomic development of the district until it was returned to the Perak State Government in 1935.

In Indonesia, underwater archaeology as a part of maritime study seems to be isolated, because the study has not yet made significant contribution to the understanding of maritime life ways in the archipelago. Various archaeological data needed to reveal the history of human settlement, insular trade, maritime history, migration, and other aspects of maritime culture in the archipelago are still concealed at the bottom of the sea or rivers. On the other hand, the development of underwater archeology in Indonesia is still left far behind compared to other Southeast Asian countries, so the abundant underwater archaeological data are still unreachable. So far, the existing underwater archaeology activities carried out within this largest archipelagic country are still aimed at exploring underwater 'treasure", with very limited concern on archaeological research. On another side, it is certainly aware that a"real" underwater archaeological research require the readiness of both human resources as well as the supporting equipments. Therefore, to develop more proper underwater archaeological activities, it is necessary to establish clear and executable policies and strategy, e.g by improving the quality and quantity of resources, establishing networking, and conducting other potential activities periodically, consistently, with high discipline.

Wowine (female) has a very shining and very sad footprint in the history of maritime culture Wakatobi Buton. Wowine's glorious times were when Queen Wakaa-kaa and Ratu Bulawambona came to power in Buton (Zahari, 1977/1978; Zaenu, 1984). At that time, wowine has a very strategic position in the government system of the Sultanate of Buton. Wowine's involvement in the government system of the Sultanate of Buton, not only occupied his role as queen but also became one of the conditions worthy or not someone become Sultan. The idea of wowine in the maritime culture of Wakatobi Buton was born from the research using Pierre Bordiau approach to see the habits, the realm of maritime Wakatobi Buton in the past, present, and future. This paper shows that the involvement of women in the Sultanate government system of Buton is responsible for the welfare and salvation of the empire. In the life of Buton people, women are responsible for several things, (1) taking care of the child, (2) seeking sustenance together with husband, (3) educating children, and (4) doing deeds, “amala or hope” to protect the husband's safety while in outdoors. It is further explained that the empress in the Sultanate of Buton served to: (1) become the head of Sarana Bawina, (Head of the Women's Council of the Sultanate of Buton), (2) safeguard the welfare and health of the sultan, and (3) educate the women in the sultanate. The findings were based on the method used, namely literature study and field study. Library study (script) to find information about the existence of women in the maritime culture Wakatobi Buton in the past. Field observations and interviews to determine the current condition of women in the maritime culture of Wakatobi Buton.

The hope of this activity is that with the knowledge possessed about maritime education, it is hoped that PAUD / Kindergarten teachers are able to carry out maximum learning adapted to the growth and development of children and their abilities to achieve optimal development. ABSTRAK Tujuan pendidikan kemaritiman ini untuk mewujudkan kepribadian peserta didik baik sikap, pengetahuan, maupun keterampilan terkait kemaritiman atau kelautan sejak usia dini dalam rangka penguatan kompetensi peserta didik, serta dapat membekali guru PAUD/TK dalam mengenal kemampuan anak. Adapun sasaran pelatihan ini diberikan pada guru-guru PAUD/TK dari berbagai lembaga PAUD/TK di kecamatan jonggat sebanyak 30 guru, muatan pendidikan kemaritiman yang dapat diperkenalkan pada anak antara lain sejarah maritim, potensi kemaritiman, nilai-nilai cinta tanah air dan karakter positif dari kemaritiman. sehingga memerlukan guru yang mampu untuk menguasai kelas, siswa, metode pembelajaran serta kreativitas yang terampil. Harapan dari kegiatan ini yaitu dengan pengetahuan yang dimiliki tentang pendidikan kemaritiaman diharapkan guru PAUD/TK mampu melakukan pembelajaran yang maksimal disesuaikan dengan tumbuh kembang anak dan kemampuanya untuk mencapai perkembangan yang optimal.

Research in title “The impact of Sriwijaya Maritime Power toward the Entrance of Muslim Trade in Palembang in VII-IX Century” is based on the power of Sriwijaya maritime that dominated all of the International trade voyage path which was sailed by the foreign merchant including Arabic Muslim traders. The Arabic Muslim traders which sailed and traded to China must go across trade voyage paths of Sriwijaya, thus, the merchants stopped over in the Kingdom center of Sriwijaya located in Palembang. The objective of the study is to analyze the history of development of Sriwijaya’s maritime power, analyzing the sailing and trading path and the relationship of Sriwijaya and the foreign country, and the impact of Sriwijaya’s maritime power toward the entrance of Muslimtraders in Palembang in VII-IX century. This study is in the form of Qualitative research design which is library research., by analyzing thoroughly every single relevant literature. The approach of the research is by using historical method approach which are, heuristic, verification, interpretation, and historiograsion, and politicoligist and economologist scholarship. Moreover, the source of the data were primer and seconder data. Data collection technique as heuristic and verification. To analyze the data, it was used interpretation, then it was conducted the last step that was historyografy or a writing of history. This research concludes that the history of development of Sriwijaya appearing as the ruler of the largest maritime power in Nusantara was supported by their great army and a management of a strong and respected leader.Sriwijaya easily controlled strategic shipping paths, such as the Strait of Malacca, Bangka Strait, Sunda Strait, Karimata Strait, and all shipping lanes in the Nusantara.The condition of the shipping Routes initially frightened Muslim traders, because of the large number of pirates, having successfully controlled by Sriwijaya's maritime power, it became safe and comfortable to go through. And it was required to stop at the harbor or in the center of Sriwijaya Kingdom located in Palembang. In addition, Sriwijaya's relationships with foreign countries, namely Arab, India, China were carried out by Sriwijaya for the recognition of sovereignty and Sriwijaya's power strengthening in the trade shipping paths. Sriwijaya with its maritime power and cooperating with the Sea People to secure the cruise line to the center of Sriwijaya from pirates as well as increasing the confidence of Muslim traders both in trade and security guarantees on the way back from the center of Sriwijaya and access for Muslim traders in the process of Islamization through trade routes in the territory of Sriwijaya kingdom.

The data will be obtained in a later novel in the form of a history text that supports the literature was born. Results of studies using qualitative methods diskrptif the formulation of the first to show that, maritime Indonesia has a very vital role in maintaining a region or a state authority. Maritime identical with the sea is a source of life for countries like Indonesia. This article discusses the dynamics of the spice trade that occurred on the east coast of Sumatra, to be precise in the areas of Singapore and Palembang in the 19th century. The spice trade on the east coast of Sumatra in the 19th century was inseparable from the involvement of many nations in the spice commodity produced in the archipelago. In addition, this article also aims to analyze the impact of the spice trade on the formation of inter-ethnic networks. This study uses historical research methods, starting from heuristics, source criticism, interpretation and writing of history. Analysis of the results of research using the Islamic Maritime Civilization approach by K.N Chaudhuri and the Trade Network approach by J.C Van Leur, these two theories argue that maritime civilization is inseparable from the influence of agrarian civilization which has an impact on the formation of a network. The results of this study are; first, in the 19th century, Singapore and Palembang were areas that still existed as a place for the spice trade, and these two areas were not only a place for trade interactions, but also a spice producer. Second, the spice trade in this century has also formed networks between nations and ethnicities, such as local networks involving ethnic groups in Nusantara and international networks involving various ethnic groups and ethnic groups in the world.Keywords: Trade Network, Maritime Civilization, East Coast Of Sumatra, Spice.Artikel ini membahas dinamika perdagangan rempah yang terjadi di pantai timur Sumatera, tepatnya di wilayah Singapura dan Palembang pada abad ke-19. Perdagangan rempah di pantai timur Sumatera pada abad ke-19 tidak terlepas dari keterlibatan banyak bangsa terhadap komuditas rempah yang dihasilkan di wilayah Nusantara. Selain itu, artikel ini juga bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak dari perdagangan rempah terhadap terbentuknya jaringan jaringan antar suku bangsa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian sejarah, yang dimulai dari heuristik, kritik sumber, interpretasi dan penulisan sejarah. Hasil penelitian kemudian dianalisa dengan pendekatan peradaban bahari Islam oleh K.N Chaudhuri serta jaringan perdagangan oleh J.C Van Leur, kedua teori ini berpendapat bahwa peradaban maritim tidak terlepas dari pengaruh peradaban agraris yang berdampak pada terbentuknya sebuah jaringan. Beberapa hasil kajian ini dapat dirumuskan sebagai berikut; pertama, pada abad ke-19, Singapura dan Palembang merupakan kawasan yang masih eksis sebagai tempat terjadinya perdagangan rempah, dan dua daerah ini tidak hanya sebagai tempat terjadinya interaksi perdagangan, tapi juga menjadi penghasil rempah. Kedua, Perdagangan rempah masa ini juga membentuk jaringan antar bangsa dan etnis, seperti jaringan lokal yang melibatkan etnis-etnis di Nusantara serta jaringan internasional yang melibatkan berbagai etnis dan suku bangsa di dunia.Kata Kunci: Jaringan Perdagangan, Peradaban Maritim, Pantai Timur Sumatera, Rempah.

Kota Tidore Kepulauan mempunyai sejarah penting dibuktikan dengan adanya peninggalan historis dan arkeologis di darat maupun di bawah air. Ekowisata terintegrasi situs kapal tenggelam dapat dikembangkan dengan konsep wisata sejarah maritim dan arkelogi bawah air yang bertanggungjawab terhadap kelestarian lingkungan perairan, memperhatikan keutuhan budaya setempat, dan memberi manfaat secara ekonomi sehingga dapat meningkatkan pendapatan daerah. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui keberadaan situs kapal tenggelam beserta Benda Muatan Kapal Tenggelam (BMKT) yang dikandungnya, inventarisasi tempat bersejarah di Tidore, serta menilai kesesuaian lingkungan perairan untuk pengembangan ekowisata terintegrasi situs kapal tenggelam di Tidore. Survei arkeologi maritim dilakukan melalui penyelaman SCUBA untuk observasi situs dan mencari BMKT, pemetaan batimetri, dan observasi biota laut. Analisis artefaktual dilakukan untuk mengetahui jenis, umur, tempat asal artefak, dan konteks sejarah maritim. Analisis spasial untuk melihat posisi keletakan situs bawah air di antara tempat bersejarah dilakukan untuk pengembangan Heritage-Trail. Penilaian kualitas air disesuaikan dengan Peraturan Pemerintah No. 22 Tahun 2021 tentang Penyelenggaraan Perlindungan dan Pengelolaan Lingkungan Hidup Lampiran VIII. Berdasarkan hasil survei, ditemukan 2 (dua) situs bawah air yaitu Soasio di kedalaman 10-20m dan Tongowai di kedalaman 38-42m dengan temuan artefak keramik China masa Dinasti Ming abad 16 Masehi, guci gerabah yang diduga produksi Singburi, Thailand, dan meriam Portugis produksi Macao. Nilai parameter kualitas perairan situs sesuai dengan standar baku mutu perairan untuk wisata bahari dan biota laut. Temuan situs dan BMKT di Soasio dan Tongowai memperkuat bukti pentingnya Tidore di Jalur Rempah dan Sutra Laut dan dapat dimanfaatkan untuk ekowisata sejarah situs kapal tenggelam yang terintegrasi dengan lingkungan perairannya dan juga dengan destinasi wisata sejarah lainnya di Tidore Kepulauan.

Tujuan dari penulisan artikel ini adalah memaparkan nilai-nilai kebhinekaan masysrakat Pesisir Demak pada abad ke 15 hingga 16 masehi untuk penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila. Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan artikel ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode studi pustaka dengan tiga tahapan yaitu reduksi data, data display, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini adalah Nilai-nilai kebhinekaan dan kerukunan antar umat yang tercermin dalam kehidupan masyarakat maritim Demak pada 15-16 M dapat menjadi pelajaran untuk memperkuat Profil Pelajar Pancasila utamanya pada dimensi Kebhinekaan Global untuk siswa ketika mata pelajaran sejarah. The spread of Islam in Indonesia is a complex and diverse phenomenon, influenced by various historical, social, and economic factors. One factor that has an important role in the spread of Islam in Indonesia is maritime trade. This research aims to explore the influence of maritime trade on the spread of Islam in Indonesia. Through a historical approach and historical data analysis, this research explores maritime trade routes which were the main means of spreading Islam in Indonesia in the past. By paying attention to economic, social, and cultural factors related to maritime trade, this research discusses how trade via maritime routes has facilitated cultural and ideological exchanges, including the Islamic religion, in the Indonesian archipelago. The findings of this research reveal significant insights into how maritime trade facilitated the spread of Islam, highlighting specific trade routes and interactions that were crucial in this process, thus providing a deeper understanding of the relationship between maritime trade and the spread of Islam, as well as its relevance in the context of Indonesian history and social development.

This research explores the synergy of sustainable marine tourism development in realizing the 2024 maritime vision on Nusa Penida Island, Klungkung, Bali, as well as the factors that affect it. The method used is a literature study with qualitative descriptive analysis. The results show that the synergy is achieved through communication and coordination of Indonesia's maritime vision with the implementation of optimization of marine tourism development under the Indonesian Marine Policy Action Plan 2021-2025 and Presidential Regulation Number 34 of 2022. Tourism in Bali has an economic impact on local communities, but its distribution needs to be more evenly distributed. Social, economic, and cultural tourism provides opportunities to utilize local potential with the participation of policy stakeholders. The tourism sector encourages the development of infrastructure and educational institutions, increasing human resources in the field of tourism. Factors influencing the synergy of marine tourism development include Indonesia's maritime history and politics, maritime biological and non-biological resources, socio-cultural factors, and maritime industry and economy. Recommendations include improving the marine ecotourism product program, multi-stakeholder involvement in planning, and the establishment of a special department in the Ministry of Tourism to focus on developing sustainable marine tourism to realize the 2024 maritime vision.

The presence of rivers in human life has provided many benefits. One of the rivers that play a role in human life is the Serayu river in Central Java. So this study aims to analyze the origin, role and development of the Serayu river in Central Java, especially in the Cilacap region during the Dutch East Indies period. This research has a novelty in the study of the Serayu river in maritime history review. The method used in this study is a historical method consisting of four steps, namely heuristics, source criticism, interpretation and historiography. The results showed that the origin of the Serayu river originated from the migration process of the people of Kalimantan island to Java in the early century AD until it developed into a river that played a role in maritime activities such as shipping and trade in Cilacap during the Dutch East Indies. The conclusion of this study is that the Serayu river during the Dutch East Indies period (1830-1942) had a role and influence on the development of the Cilacap region as one of the centers of economic activity on the south coast of Java.Kehadiran sungai dalam kehidupan manusia telah memberikan banyak manfaat. Salah satu sungai yang turut berperan dalam kehidupan manusia adalah sungai Serayu di Jawa Tengah. Sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis asal-usul, peran dan perkembangan sungai Serayu di Jawa Tengah khususnya pada wilayah Cilacap pada masa Hindia Belanda. Penelitian ini memiliki kebaharuan dalam kajian sungai Serayu dalam tinjauan sejarah maritim. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode historis yang terdiri dari empat langkah yakni heuristik, kritik sumber, interpretasi dan historiografi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa asal-usul sungai Serayu berawal dari proses migrasi penduduk pulau Kalimantan menuju Jawa pada awal abad masehi hingga berkembang menjadi sebuah sungai yang berperan dalam aktivitas kemaritiman seperti pelayaran dan perdagangan di Cilacap pada masa Hindia Belanda. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah sungai Serayu pada masa Hindia Belanda (1830-1942) memiliki peran dan pengaruhnya terhadap perkembangan wilayah Cilacap sebagai salah satu pusat dari aktivitas ekonomi di pesisir Selatan pantai Jawa.

Coastal Kaimana be one important area to understand overview of the early history of civilization in New Guinea. Kaimana evolved since the empire archipelago use as a transit port as archaeological traces were found. A necessity, residential visited various ethnic groups in the past will also produce a diversity of artifacts. Instead, it is important to know two things from Kaimana coastal sites, namely: (i) the diversity of artifacts; and (ii) the character of the culture that developed in the residential area. Picture of two things is intended to show on the one hand, the contribution of the archipelago to the development of local communities in Papua early history, while on the other hand know the influence of external elements of the character of the local culture. By using a method known archaeological survey that multiculturalism has grown in residential site at Kaimana coast, where the infrastructure reflects the character of the maritime civilization open, advanced, and adaptive to the elements of the outer cover all aspects of life: social, economic, cultural, historical, to religion.ABSTRAKPesisir Kaimana menjadi salah satu kawasan penting untuk memahami gambaran peradaban masa awal sejarah di Pulau Papua. Kaimana berkembang sejak imperium Nusantara menggunakan sebagai pelabuhan transit sebagaimana jejak arkeologi yang ditemukan. Suatu keniscayaan, hunian yang dikunjungi berbagai etnis di masa lalu juga akan menghasilkan keragaman artefak. Justru itu, penting untuk mengetahui dua hal dari situs pesisir Kaimana, yaitu: (i) keragaman artefak; dan (ii) karakter budaya yang berkembang di dalam kawasan hunian. Gambaran dua hal tersebut ditujukan untuk memperlihatkan pada satu pihak kontribusi Nusantara terhadap perkembangan komunitas lokal Papua masa awal sejarah, sementara dilain pihak mengatahui pengaruh anasir luar terhadap karakter budaya setempat. Dengan menggunakan metode survei arkeologi diketahui bahwa multikulturalisme telah berkembang pada situs hunian di pesisir Kaimana, dimana infrastrukturnya mencerminkan karakter peradaban maritim yang terbuka, maju, dan adaptif dengan anasir dari luar melingkupi segala aspek kehidupan: sosial, ekonomi, budaya, sejarah, hingga religi.

In today's digital era, each city is competing with another city. Each city features uniqueness that can be highlighted from him, all of it is to attract funding from investors. The ultimate goal is to improve the welfare of the city. Surabaya has been known by the people of Indonesia through the history of Indonesian independence as The City of Heroes. However, the identity as The City of Heroes is not yet strong enough to attract investment and the interest of tourists to invest in this city of Surabaya. Thus a new identity, in this case new branding must be made in order to strengthen the position of Surabaya before the eyes of the community both internal communities within the city of Surabaya, as well as external communities outside the city of Surabaya and abroad.The research method that was used is descriptive qualitative method. This method is by doing observation and analysis of marketing strategy of city branding which have been done by Surabaya city. This scientific work was developed by using literature review approach or literature study.In this research noted that the process of building a city brand is not easy. Especially if the parties involved have a political interest in it. As a social construct, city branding of the city of Surabaya as a city of Maritime will certainly generate various responses from the community. Archipelago, the main theme of this article, is a term for a region known as Southeast Asia today, especially the countries with similar historical events about ancient rulers, such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and others. Thus, the writing of this article was directed at reviewing material related to the existence of rulers, especially those engaged in the maritime field in the archipelago, with a focus on discussion on three subjects, including Sriwijaya, Majapahit and Demak, and was selected on the basis of similarities in historical events. The method used was descriptive analysis through books and other written materials, such as journal articles and seminar proceedings. Then, a written description of the reading and an unwritten description of the material in the form of photos/pictures were added. Lastly, the analysis was carried out using the concept of “Total History” proposed by Fernand Braudel. In this concept, there were three historical facts in one period, namely events, conjuncture, and structure. The findings of this article explained the development of the three maritime rulers of the archipelago, including the Srivijaya Kingdom (VII-XIII centuries), Majapahit Kingdom (XIII-XV centuries), and Demak Kingdom (XV-XVI centuries), which referred to the concept as an internal event empire since its inception, heyday, and decline. In addition, the interconnection of the three kingdoms was the existence of the side of the descendants of the previous kings and the enthusiasm for building the civilization of the archipelago, which was passed on to the rulers afterward through strengthening in the maritime sector.

Abstract. Indonesia is a renowned country of its richness of underwater archaeological heritage. Abundant maritime cultural activities had provided data to reconstruct the ancient maritime glory. In the matter of fact, the efforts to reconstruct the history are still facing many challenges especially in the lack of main point of view in managing the heritage. Considering that the Indonesian underwater archaeological heritage is of international significance, this paper discusses the opportunity to implement in-situ preservation in managing underwater archaeological heritage in Indonesia, as it is recommended by the 2001 UNESCO Convention. Some issues in the management of underwater cultural heritage, including activities undertaken and related regulation, were discussed through a descriptive approach. This paper then shows that although Indonesia might not ratify the 2001 UNESCO Convention in the near future, in-situ preservation is an ideal strategy to manage the underwater cultural heritage and is applicable in Indonesia, subject to some adjustment of current regulations. Abstrak. Indonesia sangat kaya dengan peninggalan arkeologi bawah air. Berbagai aktivitas budaya maritim telah meninggalkan data yang melimpah untuk merekonstruksi sejarah bangsa ini. Pada kenyataannya, upaya rekonstruksi tersebut masih menghadapi banyak tantangan terutama dalam hal perbedaan sudut pandang pengelolaan tinggalan-tinggalan tersebut oleh para pihak pengelola. Mengingat bahwa peninggalan arkeologi bawah air di Indonesia tidak hanya memiliki signifikansi nasional, tapi juga regional bahkan internasional, kajian ini mengurai kemungkinan penerapan in-situ preservation, sebagaimana tercantum dalam Konvensi UNESCO tahun 2001, sebagai strategi pengelolaan peninggalan arkeologi bawah air Indonesia. Pendekatan deskriptif digunakan untuk menggambarkan permasalahan yang ada dan menunjukkan bahwa meskipun Indonesia belum dapat meratifikasi Konvensi UNESCO tahun 2001 dalam waktu dekat, in-situ preservation merupakan strategi ideal pengelolaan peninggalan arkeologi bawah air yang dapat diterapkan di Indonesia dengan melakukan penyesuaian regulasi yang berlaku.

Abstract: This paper aims to explain the tradition of Sedekah Laut or Nadran practiced by the people of Teluk Village, Labuan Subdistrict, Pandeglang Regency, Banten. The maritime community's belief in the ruler of the sea has been rooted from the past to the present. Tradition as a culture characterizes the locality of Indonesian society. In Java, more or less animist and dynamist cultures were influenced by Hindu-Buddhism, by the beliefs of the predecessors of Javanese society. People believe in invisible forces that can affect their lives. Coastal communities believe in the existence of sea rulers who have given them a catch of fish, so the tradition of sea alms develops as a form of gratitude for the catch given by the sea. This article uses a descriptive qualitative method with a historical approach. As a local history with oral tradition sources, primary sources were obtained through in-depth interviews with resource informants in Teluk Village, and previous research relevant to the research theme was used as secondary sources. The results show that the Sedekah Laut tradition is brought by the influence of the arrival of migrants from the coast of Java to Teluk Village. This Sedekah Laut tradition is carried out by the fishermen community and their descendants who come from Java. Normally, the implementation of Sedekah Laut is carried out annually, but due to various factors, the tradition is held annually.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan tradisi sedekah laut atau Nadran yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat Desa Teluk Kecamatan Labuan, Kabupaten Pandeglang, Banten. Kepercayaan masyarakat maritim terhadap penguasa laut telah mengakar dari dahulu hingga saat ini. Tradisi sebagai suatu kebudayaan, menjadi ciri lokalitas masyarakat Indonesia. Di Jawa, sedikit banyaknya kebudayaan yang bermuatan animisme dan dinamisme yang dipengaruhi oleh Hindu-Budha, sesuai dengan kepercayaan pendahulu masyarakat Jawa. Sebagaimana masyarakat percaya meyakini terhadap kekuatan yang tak kasat mata, yang dapat mempengaruhi hidup mereka. Masyarakat pesisir mempercayai adanya penguasa laut yang telah memberikan mereka hasil tangkapan ikan, sehingga berkembang tradisi sedekah laut sebagai bentuk rasa syukur masyarakat pesisir atas hasil tangkapan yang diberikan oleh laut. Penulisan Artikel ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan sejarah. Sebagai kajian sejarah lokal dengan sumber tradisi lisan, sumber primer diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam dengan narasumber di Desa Teluk, dan penelitian terdahulu yang relevan dengan tema penelitian digunakan sebagai sumber sekunder. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tradisi sedekah laut merupakan tradisi yang dibawa atas pengaruh kedatangan para pendatang yang berasal dari pesisir pantai Jawa ke Desa Teluk. Tradisi sedekah laut ini dijalankan oleh masyarakat nelayan dan keturunannya yang berasal dari Jawa. Lazimnya pelaksanaan sedekah laut dilakukan setiap tahun, namun karena berbagai faktor seperti kesulitan ekonomi pada kalangan nelayan dan adanya pertentangan pendapat dari masyarakat eksternal membuat tradisi sedekah laut tidak dilaksanakan setiap tahun. Hingga saat ini tradisi sedekah laut masih tetap dilaksanakan, meskipun intensitasnya berkurang dan adanya perubahan dalam pelaksanaanya.

This research is a study that focus on local wisdom aspect as the force behind the sustainable development, whether development in economic, social, culture, education and other aspects. The scope of this research problem is coastal development based on the local coastal wisdom itself. Where wisdom is positioned as a potential for environmentally friendly and sustainable development. So this study looks at how the strategy of Panglima Laot as an institution of adat laot or local wisdom which is a maritime cultural heritage that developed in Aceh coast in maintaining sustainable coastal environment. This research was conducted in Pidie District of Aceh Province, where Pidie District is one of the coastal regency in Aceh. By borders, the North side of the regency is bounded by the Malacca Strait, South by West Aceh and Aceh Jaya Regencies, the East with Pidie Jaya Regency and the West is bounded by the Regency of Aceh Besar. This research uses qualitative research methods. In addition, the study also uses a multi-disciplinary approach. The approach used in this research is the approach of sociology, anthropology and history. The existence of three disciplinary approaches, can provide a comprehensive description of Panglima Laot, so that the researchers can build concepts in answering research problems. The results of this study indicates that, Panglima Laot as chief of adat (custom) has its own role in regulating fishermen as coastal custom communities. The existence of Panglima Laot is strategic enough in limiting the behavior of fishing communities, especially behavior that can damage the coastal environment. To curb such behavior, the Panglima Laot undertook by customary approach as a strategy in preventing the destruction to the coastal environment caused by the behavior of fishermen. The customary approach strategy used by panglima laot as adat leader in encouraging sustainable coastal maritime conservation in Pidie District.

AbstractThis research is motivated by the lack of use of learning media in the history learning process. The purpose of this study is to produce learning media, namely history learning videos so that the learning process is more interesting and not boring. The method in this research is R&D (Research and Development). The development model in this study is the ADDIE model, namely, Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. Due to time and cost limitations, this research only reached the ADDI stage, namely, Analysis, Design, Development and Implementation. The subject of this research is class XI IPS 1 SMA N 1 Lunang. Meanwhile, the feasibility and practicality of this product were tested by history learning material experts and history learning media experts, history subject teachers and students using a questionnaire. The result of the feasibility of learning materials by history learning material experts is 3.6 with a very feasible category. The result of the feasibility of learning media in terms of history learning media by history learning media experts is 3.5 with a very decent category. The practicality test of the media by the teacher is 3.5 with a very practical category. The media test for students is 3.5 with a very practical category. Therefore, the historical learning video media about maritime kingdoms in the archipelago with a Hindu-Buddhist pattern is very feasible and practical to be applied in learning history at school.Keywords: Learning Video Media, History LearningAbstrakPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dengan kurangnya penggunaan media pembelajaran dalam proses pembelajaran sejarah. Sedangkan kelayakan dan kepraktisan produk ini diuji oleh ahli materi pembelajaran sejarah dan ahli media pembelajaran sejarah, guru mata pelajaran sejarah dan peserta didik dengan mengguakan angket. Hasil kelayakan materi pembelajaran oleh ahli materi pembelajaran sejarah adalah 3.6 dengan kategori sangat layak. Hasil kelayakan media pembelajaran dari segi media pembelajaran sejarah oleh ahli media pembelajaran sejarah adalah 3.5 dengan kategori sangat layak. Uji praktikalitas media oleh guru adalah 3.5 dengan kategori sangat praktis. Uji coba media kepada siswa adlah sebesar 3.5 dengan kategori sangat praktis. Maka dari itu media video pembelajaran sejarah tentang kerajaan maritim di nusantara yang bercorak hindu buddha sangat layak dan praktis diterapkan dalam pembelajaran sejarah di sekolah. With no clear evidence of its origin, hybrid warfare is a worldwide phenomenon, its effects having worldwide reverberations. Characterised by a very high adaptability and flexibility of the methods and procedures used, as well as the continuous expansion of the target audience or the area of coverage, hybrid warfare is not a new concept in human history. Overshadowed by the much higher degree of destruction and the very large number of human victims – specific to conventional war – unconventional actions – an integral part of hybrid war – often go unnoticed, but their effects are felt in all areas of human society existence. Today, the annexation of Crimea and the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation are classic examples of hybrid warfare, characterised by true intentions concealment along with the fact that special operations forces experience and support allowed ethnic Russian communities to organise paramilitary groups with the aim of creating an ambiguous and insecure environment on Ukraine’s territory. Furthermore, these events forced NATO leaders to identify and implement measures to limit and reduce Russian Federation possibilities to apply a similar strategy against the Black Sea or Baltic Sea member states. Analysing in detail the Russian hybrid actions major impact in the maritime environment, materialised both by the two parties’ state borders modification and the Russian Federation Exclusive Economic Zone expansion to the detriment of Ukraine, this paper aims to identify geographical and economic vulnerabilities in the Black Sea, the exploitation of which can result in the weakening of the south-eastern flank of the North Atlantic Alliance. Moreover, the present study’s results will represent the basis of a further analysis that will highlight the optimal measures for their reduction.

Among the great maritime trading empires of history, the Sriwijaya empire ranks among the most splendid and rich ones. Still, few people know about this empire and recognize it as an important part of the history of Indonesia. This study examined participatory practice in historic preservation by investigating stakeholders’ perspectives on the potential application of digital technology in the Sriwijaya Museum in Palembang. We introduced photogrammetry and color analysis technologies to identify some possible improvements to be implemented in the museum in the future. We invited some community members interested in Palembang’s history and in using digital technology in museums to participate in a two-day participatory workshop. Pre-workshop and post-workshop questionnaires were distributed to identify the participants’ expectations for and responses to the workshop. Moreover, we also interviewed several participants. The study revealed that all participants agreed that both technologies have great potential to provide narrations in the museum and support thematic activities such as arts, culinary, and music performances. This paper highlights the importance of the local community’s commitment and the government’s political will to realize a roadmap for the city’s cultural heritage preservation and digitization movement. Abstrak. Di antara kerajaan perdagangan maritim besar dalam sejarah, Sriwijaya termasuk yang paling megah dan terkaya. Namun, hanya sedikit orang yang mengetahui dan mengakui Kerajaan Sriwijaya sebagai bagian penting dari sejarah Indonesia karena penggalian lebih banyak artefak dan sisa-sisa rumit. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji praktik partisipatif dalam pelestarian sejarah dengan mengkaji perspektif pemangku kepentingan tentang potensi penerapan teknologi di Museum Sriwijaya. Kami memperkenalkan teknologi fotogrametri dan analisis warna untuk mengidentifikasi beberapa perbaikan yang mungkin diterapkan di masa depan. Meningkatnya permasalahan pencemaran di perairan khususnya pencemaran dari minyak, yang bersumber dari kegiatan yang terkait dengan pelayaran, merupakan permasalahan nasional yang menjadi tanggung jawab bersama untuk dapat dicegah dan ditanggulangi. Salah satunya dengan menjelaskan ketentuan hukum nasional yang diberlakukan dalam penegakan hukum kejadian pencemaran minyak akibat dari kecelakaan kapal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pendekatan penelitian hukum yuridis normatif yang didasarkan pada pola pemikiran deduktif. Dalam penyajian data digunakan metode kualitatif yang didasarkan pada analisis data kualitatif berdasarkan putusan Mahkamah Agung No.160.K/PID.SUS/2015. Pembahasannya meliputi ketentuan hukum nasional Indonesia dalam mengatur pencegahan pencemaran minyak di laut dari kecelakaan kapal dan sanksi yang dapat diberikan bagi Nakhoda yang tidak melaksanakan upaya pencegahan pencemaran minyak di laut dari kecelakaan kapalnya. Berdasarkan hukum nasional, upaya penanggulangan pencegahan pencemaran di perairan ini telah di atur ketentuannya secara jelas dalam UU No. 17 Tahun 2008 tentang Pelayaran dan PP No. 21 Tahun 2010 tentang Perlindungan Lingkungan Maritim

Abstract Buton was a maritim sultanate in Southeast Sulawesi. It had a strategic location because it was a centre of transit and trade in Nusantara and Asia. This situation caused cultural contact and arose new Butonese culture. A kind of cultural product is literate tradition using such as Jawi script (Arabic-Malay) that appeared from interaction of local culture, the Butonese, with islam. In history of Buton many kitab was writen in Jawi script including Kitab Sarana Walio. Taking descriptive-qualitative method, the writer analyze Jawi script that was used in Sarana Walio text. This analyze was related with cultural context that underlied the appearance of this script. This research has found the system of writing with Jawi script in this manuscript. Based on ortographic system, Jawi script in Sarana Walio is not different from ortography of Arabic-Malay system in Nusantara. Graphem consist of consonant and vocal which is symbolized by huruf saksi, not punctuation. Meanwhile, there’s inconsistence in the case of word writing in manuscript. ---Abstrak Buton merupakan kesultanan maritim di Sulawesi Tenggara yang memiliki letak strategis karena menjadi pusat persinggahan dan perdagangan Nusantara dan Asia. Hal ini tentu saja menyebabkan terjadinya kontak budaya yang memunculkan bentuk-bentuk kebudayaan baru di masyarakat Buton. Salah satunya adalah tradisi tulis aksara Jawi (Arab-Melayu) yang lahir dari interaksi budaya lokal masyarakat Buton dengan Islam. Banyak kitab dalam sejarah Buton yang ditulis dalam aksara Jawi, di antaranya Kitab Sarana Walio. Dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif-kualitatif, penulis mengkaji aksara Jawi dalam teks Sarana Walio, dihubungkan dengan konteks budaya yang melatari munculnya aksara tersebut. Penelitian telah menemukan adanya sistem penulisan aksara Jawi dalam naskah tersebut. Ditinjau dari ortografinya, aksara Jawi dalam Sarana Walio tidak berbeda dengan sistem ejaan Arab-Melayu pada umumnya di Nusantara. Grafem terdiri atas grafem konsonan dan grafem vokal yang dilambangkan dengan huruf saksi, tidak dengan tanda baca. This research is focused on the folklore of the maritime community in Situbondo, especially the myth of the Rokat aeng manes in Agel Village. Agel's Aeng Manis skirt is an original Situbondo tradition which has its own peculiarities. This traditional ceremony has been going on for generations in the Agel community. The Aeng Manis Rokat Ceremony in Agel Village is a village clean-up ceremony carried out by the Agel community. This ceremony is held to celebrate the harvest and pray for it to be kept away from various logs, diseases, and disasters. This research discusses the myth of the Rokat Aeng Manis ritual in Agel Asembagus, Situbondo village from the perspective of oral tradition with the theory of the Greimas schema and functional structure and the analysis of interpretation in the context of oral history. The method used was ethnography, which emphasizes the active participation of researchers or is directly involved in the community being studied to obtain field notes that can answer research problems. The results describe the phenomenon of violence against women, namely Princess Mayangsari due to the attack of the King of Bali on the Madura Kingdom which is divided into three stages. This condition was resolved with the emergence of the White Tiger (Helper) who was motivated to restore the dignity and glory of the Madura Kingdom.Penelitian ini difokuskan pada folklor masyarakat maritim di Situbondo, khususnya mitos rokat aeng manes di Desa Agel. Rokat Aeng Manis Agel adalah tradisi asli Situbondo yang mempunyai kekhasan tersendiri. Upacara adat ini telah berlangsung turun temurun di masyarakat Agel. Upacara Rokat Aeng Manis di desa Agel merupakan sebuah upacara bersih desa yang dilaksanakan oleh masyarakat Agel. Upacara ini dilaksanakan untuk mensyukuri hasil panen dan mendoakan agar dijauhkan dari berbagai bala, penyakit, dan bencana. Penelitian ini mendiskusikan mitos ritual Rokat Aeng Manis di Desa Agel Asembagus Situbondo dari perspektif tradisi lisan dengan teori skema aktan dan struktur fungsional Greimas dan analisis tafsir dalam konteks sejarah lisan. Metode yang digunakan adalah etnografi yang mengedepankan partisipasi aktif peneliti atau terlibat langsung ke masyarakat yang diteliti untuk mendapatkan catatan lapangan yang dapat menjawab permasalahan penelitian. Hasil penelitian mendeskripsikan fenomena kekerasan terhadap perempuan yakni Putri Mayangsari akibat adanya penyerangan Raja Bali pada Kerajaan Madura yang terbagi menjadi tiga babak. Kondisi tersebut terselesaikan dengan munculnya Macan Putih (helper) yang termotivasi untuk mengembalikan martabat dan kejayaan Kerajaan Madura.

The announcement of a maritime economic initiative known as the 21st Century Maritime Silk Route (MSR) by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2013 created a new paradigm shift in the geo-economy and geo-politics of countries in the Pacific Ocean and Indian Ocean. With this initiative, China aims to rebuild maritime lines in the seas and oceans where China once was regarded as one of the world's leading powers. In contrast to countries in Southeast Asia, which still hold divergent views on the Chinese initiative, Indonesia sees it as an opportunity to develop regions that have long been marginalized from development. It is in line with the shift in Indonesia’s global economic-political agenda in the 21st century through a doctrine known as "Indonesia as a Maritime Fulcrum," which was initiated by “Jokowi” Widodo and Jusuf Kalla in 2014. Taking into account the importance of this idea in Indonesia's geo-economic and geo-political agenda, this study is to reflect on Indonesia’s history as a global maritime and trade power before it was undermined by the Dutch occupation. In addition, using historical approach, this study aims to see and evaluate how the idea of "Indonesia as a Maritime Fulcrum" can restore Indonesia’s reputation as a major maritime power in the Southeast Asian archipelago.

Indonesia has very large water areas and dense maritime activities which is very rich in underwater archeological remains. These artefacts certainly have the significance value of history, science, and culture. One of the potential underwater archaeological remains found is the site of Waiterang shipwreck in Sikka District, East Nusa Tenggara Province. This paper aims to determine the importance of the shipwreck, therefore public could understand the historical event which happened there. Data collection is done through exploration, surveys, interviews, and then associated with relevant literatures. Exploration is carried out on primary archeological data and environmental data at the seabed and the surrounding area. Land surveys are carried out to observe archaeological remains in this area, while underwater surveys are carried out by diving techniques using SCUBA (Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus) equipment. The data were analyzed by descriptive, comparative, and oceanographic analysis methods. The results showed that the ship sunken during the Japanese occupation of Indonesia. The existence of a shipwreck at Wairterang has potential development of special interest of the underwater tourism and local history subject for educational purposes. Indonesia memiliki wilayah perairan yang sangat luas dan aktivitas maritim yang padat sehingga sangat kaya akan tinggalan arkeologi bawah air. Tinggalan tersebut tentunya memiliki siginifikansi informasi yang berkaitan dengan sejarah, ilmu pengetahuan, dan kebudayaan. Salah satu potensi tinggalan arkeologi bawah air yang ditemukan adalah situs kapal karam Waiterang yang terdapat di Kabupaten Sikka, Nusa Tenggara Timur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai penting dari kapal karam tersebut agar dipahami oleh masyarakat bahwa pada masa lalu di wilayah ini pernah terjadi suatu peristiwa sejarah. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui eksplorasi, survei, wawancara, dan kemudian dikaitkan dengan literatur yang relevan. Eksplorasi dilakukan terhadap data arkeologi primer dan data lingkungan, yaitu artefak-artefak di dasar laut dan kawasan sekitarnya. Survei darat dilakukan untuk mengobservasi tinggalan arkeologi yang terdapat di wilayah ini, sedangkan survei bawah air dilakukan dengan teknik selam dengan menggunakan alat SCUBA (Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus). Data yang diperoleh selanjutnya dianalisis dengan metode analisis deskriptif, komparatif, dan analisis oceanografi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kapal tersebut karam pada masa pendudukan Jepang di Indonesia. Keberadaan kapal karam di Wairterang tersebut memiliki potensi untuk pengembangan wisata bawah air minat khusus dan juga perlu ditambahkan dalam mata pelajaran sejarah lokal di daerah.

Abstract. City of Ambon holds the evidence of colonialism as part of World War II history. Various maritime cultural activities contain historical data that can reconstruct the history of Indonesia. One example is Duke of Sparta (SS Aquila) shipwreck, located in Ambon Bay, that is well-known by local and international divers. However, underwater cultural heritage has not optimally managed, even suffers from thievery. Since underwater cultural heritage in Ambon Bay is significant to support national and international interests, this study aims to identify and record underwater cultural heritage in Ambon Bay by using Side Scan Sonar (SSS) and direct observation through diving survey. This preliminary study was conducted as the first stage of underwater cultural heritage preservation effort. The result shows findings of archaeological remains of shipwrecks and aircrafts. Some parts were incomplete, covered by coral ecosystem, and become fish habitat. High level of sedimentation has a role in disrupting the recent condition as most of the wreckages are now covered by sediment materials. Thus, preservation and protection efforts are necessary to be well-managed by central and local governments. Keywords: Underwater archaeology, World War II, Ambon Bay, Side Scan Sonar Abstrak. Kota Ambon mempunyai sejarah dalam Perang Dunia II yang menyimpan bukti-bukti sejarah kolonialisme. Berbagai aktivitas budaya maritim telah meninggalkan data yang melimpah untuk merekonstruksi sejarah bangsa ini. Di Perairan Teluk Ambon terdapat situs kapal kargo Duke of Sparta (SS Aquila) yang sangat dikenal oleh penyelam lokal maupun mancanegara. Permasalahan pada sisi lain sumber daya tinggalan budaya bawah air belum optimal dimanfaatkan, bahkan seringkali diambil secara ilegal. Mengingat bahwa peninggalan arkeologi bawah air di Indonesia khususnya perairan Ambon tidak hanya memiliki signifikansi nasional, tapi juga regional bahkan internasional. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan inventarisasi tinggalan budaya arkeologi bawah laut Ambon menggunakan Side Scan Sonar (SSS) serta pengamatan secara langsung (penyelaman). Kegiatan ini sebagai upaya awal perlindungan terhadap tinggalan tersebut. Hasil pengamatan memperlihatkan beberapa temuan tinggalan arkeologi bawah laut berupa kapal tenggelam SS Aquila, SS Victoria serta situs pesawat. Beberapa bagian situs telihat sudah tidak utuh dan tertutupi oleh ekosistem karang dan dihuni oleh ikan-ikan. Tingginya tingkat sedimentasi berpengaruh terhadap keberadaan situs tersebut, sehingga beberapa bagian situs tertimbun material sedimen. Upaya penyelamatan dan perlindungan perlu dilakukan lebih lanjut baik oleh pemerintah pusat maupun daerah. Kata kunci: Arkeologi Bawah Air, Perang Dunia II, Teluk Ambon, Side Scan Sonar
