AbstractBackgroundThere is a growing body of literature relating to mass-gathering events. A common thread amongst this literature, particularly the literature relating to music festivals, is the incidence of patients presenting with substance and/or alcohol intoxication. However, the impact of alcohol and/or drugs on the provision of in-event health care services has not been explored in detail.AimThe goal of this review was to develop an understanding of the impact of alcohol and/or drugs on in-event health care services at mass-gathering events.MethodThis paper used integrative review as a methodology. The articles included in this literature review were sourced by searching databases inclusive of Medline (Ovid; US National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health; Bethesda, Maryland USA), Scopus (Elsevier; Amsterdam, Netherlands), PsycINFO (Ovid; American Psychological Association; Washington DC, USA), and Pub Med (National Center for Biotechnology Information, National Institutes of Health; Bethesda, Maryland USA). Identified manuscripts that met the inclusion criteria were thematically analyzed.ResultsIn total, 12 manuscripts met the inclusion criteria for this review. A thematic analysis of these manuscripts identified three main themes: (i) predictive factors, (ii) patient presentation rates, and (iii) levels of care. Conclusion:Substance use and/or intoxication can place a strain on in-event medical services at mass-gathering events. Of the various types of mass-gathering events, music festivals appear to be the most affected by substance use and intoxication.BullockM, RanseJ, HuttonA.Impact of patients presenting with alcohol and/or drug intoxication on in-event health care services at mass-gathering events: an integrative literature review. This article, based on interviews with representatives of Lithuanian publishing houses, describes the editor’s role in contemporary publishing. It is showed that editors contribute to strategic and managerial processes within the publishing houses and are responsible for the process of editing manuscripts. Even though certain publishing houses retain the habit of referring to the senior or chief editor as the one engaged in strategic activity, today many of the houses have project manager positions tasked with shaping the publishing portfolio. Today’s editors engage in managerial activities rarely; their main field of responsibility remains editing manuscripts. The clearest functions are associated with microlevel text specialization: copyeditors, proofreaders, and editors handling book layouts. Lithuanian publishing houses are yet to develop a clearly defined role of content editors, which is customary in other countries wherein the publishing industry had developed more consistently. According to the publishers, Lithuanian publishing houses face a lack of experts able to refine the contents of the manuscripts, i.e., to offer macrolevel text editing services.

Today the services offered by information units, more specifically the Academic Libraries, compose a great differential with the introduction of information technology in library services, which benefits professionals of this niche and users of such services. With this perception, a research was held aiming to identify the use of information services on the Web, offered by the Central Library at Paraiba s State University (BC/UEPB), to the students of Master in Environmental Science and Technology (MCTA). This is an exploratory study of quantitative and qualitative nature. The sample is composed of 49 users. To collect data a questionnaire was applied to users of the Central Library of UEPB and a form was applied to eight directors of Central Libraries of State Universities in the Northeast of Brazil, in order to compare the Web information services offered by BC/UEPB with the ones offered by academic librarians of universities located in the Brazilian Northeast. Data analysis shows that the Web information services offered by the Academic Libraries of State universities in the Brazilian Northeast, in general, present a worrying picture. On one hand, some libraries have not yet implemented that kind of services and, in the other hand, those libraries that already offer them, need a better structure. In this scenario 12.5% of Central Libraries are not computerized and do not have websites, respectively. It can be concluded that, at this moment, on-line information services is not part of the reality of some Central Academic Libraries of State Universities in the Brazilian Northeast. However, comparing the study with other studies on the information services on Web, provided by academic libraries, in general, the realities do not differ significantly.

The lifecycle of information system (IS) became relatively shorter compared with earlier days as a result of information technology (IT) revolution and advancement. It is tremendous difficult for an old architecture to catch up with the dynamic changes occurred in the market. To match with the fast pace of challenges, enterprises have to use the technology/concept of information system reengineering (ISR) to preserve the value of their legacy systems. Consequently, web services-based systems with Service- Oriented Architecture (SOA) are widely accepted as one of the possible solutions for an enterprise information system to retain/keep its old legacy systems. Using this aforementioned architecture, enterprise information systems tend to be more flexible and agile to fit into the capricious business environment, and thus, be easier to integrate with additional applications. In other words, it is indeed an essential requirement for an enterprise to establish such a system to further improve corporation’s productivity and operational efficiency. In specific, the requirement is simply to migrate the legacy systems to be SOA architecture. However, it is a trade-off between the value of legacy systems and the compatibility with SOA to decide whether this alternative is a feasible one. The purpose of this manuscript is to propose a migrating solution to convert the architecture of the legacy system into SOA with a systematic approach. This proposed methodology is different from the traditional object-oriented approaches, which migrates the system to have a services-oriented focus without incorporating general objected-oriented (OO) or functional oriented feature. In this study, a case study and information capacity theory were employed to verify/validate that this approach is indeed an effective and a practicable one.

Letters of 1869–1872 of the famous figure of the Bulgarian Renaissance Spiridon Nikolayevich Palauzov to the outstanding researcher and collector of manuscript books Aleksey Yegorovich Viktorov, stored in the Russian State Library’s manuscripts department, are published in full for the first time. The value of these epistolary documents for Russian and Slavic literature of the 19th century lies in the fact that they contain little-known information on the history of research, attribution and publication of handwritten monuments such as “The Life and Praise of Saint Philothei of Athens”, “The Commendation of Saint Euthymius of Tarnovo” by Gregory Tsamblak, the Service of Holy Venerable Theodosius of Tarnovo, and the writings of Saint Clement of Ohrid and Tsar Simeon I the Great, the Great Menaion Reader was compiled in the 1530s–1540s under the supervision of Metropolitan Macarius of Moscow, etc. An introductory article gives a brief description of the letters. With the advancement of web services technology, security has become an increasingly important issue. Various security standards have been developed to secure web services at the transport and message level, but application level has received less attention. The security solutions at the application level focus on access control which cannot alone ensure the confidentiality and integrity of information. The solution proposed in this paper consists on a hybrid model that combines access control (AC) and information flow control (IFC). The AC mechanism uses the concept of roles and attributes to control user access to web services' methods. The IFC mechanism uses labels to control how the roles access to the system's objects and verify the information flows between them to ensure the information confidentiality and integrity. This manuscript describes the model, gives the demonstration of the IFC model safety, presents the modeling and implementation of the model and a case study.

Academics and University Extension personnel have experience with soil mapping and providing soil suitability interpretations; however, a more efficient information conveyance to land custodians is desired to support informative land management applications. In the USA each state, in concert with the United States Department of Agriculture, has embarked on developing an online format linking soil survey with ecological site descriptions to provide information for forest and rangeland management to encourage soil protection - health and optimizing ecological services on individual land parcels. In this Missouri-based manuscript, we discuss three cases where soils and their associated ecological site descriptions provide land custodians information concerning their logical reference state vegetation community and detail land management decisions that transform the reference vegetation community to a different vegetation community. With each case, landscapes and their associated vegetations communities are potentially partitioned by soil, physiography, hydrology, and other attributes.

Chapter 3 follows Robert Huntington during the decade he spent in Syria (1671–81), piecing together one of the most extensive collections of oriental manuscripts to come into Europe before the nineteenth century. It describes the changed circumstances in Aleppo since Edward Pococke’s years in the city: the more extensive presence of European (particularly French) collectors. It then surveys Huntington’s work on behalf of a community of English scholars, reconstructing a network of correspondents – from Syria, to Cyprus, to Iraq – which Huntington exploited in his quest for books. This section develops the theme of the working relationships between European collectors and local scholars, charting Huntington’s epistolary exchanges with the Maronite patriarch of Antioch, Isṭifān al-Duwayhī, and the Samaritan scribe, Marhib ben Jacob. It also points to English scholars’ reliance on the longer-established Roman Catholic missions, here exemplified by Huntington’s attempts to secure books and information on the Mandaeans through Carmelite missionaries in Basra. Following Huntington and his books back to England, a concluding discussion describes the sale of Huntington’s library and Huntington’s own career prospects after ten years’ service to English scholarship in Syria. It ends with an assessment of English collectors’ achievements by the end of the seventeenth century.

In the realm of information safeguarding, cloud data fortification and cybersecurity emerge as pivotal considerations for both corporate entities and individuals immersed in the sphere of cloud computing services. As the adoption of cloud computing proliferates across diverse industries, the imperative of ensuring the impregnability of data domiciled, transmitted, or processed within the cloud takes center stage. This manuscript delves into the intricacies of cloud computing and data fortification within the ethereal realms, underscoring the exigency for enterprises to embrace avant-garde cloud computing methodologies, thereby assuring the sanctity of their data. Furthermore, this document canvasses a heterogeneous spectrum of age cohorts, endeavoring to delineate their proclivities towards specific cloud service providers, the impediments they encounter, and their perspectives on the adequacy of extant legal frameworks in upholding data privacy. Finally, the paper examines the cybersecurity challenges faced by cloud providers and the steps they are taking to protect data in the cloud. The results of the survey indicate that data privacy and cybersecurity are major concerns for cloud users and that more needs to be done to ensure the safety of data stored in the cloud

The article contains information about the first machine-readable online edition of the Old Russian Paroеmiarion corpus, which includes four manuscripts and online index modules to them. The absolute predominance of the Cyril-Methodius vocabulary indicates that the Paroеmiarion belongs to the early Old Church Slavic tradition. The introduction of Preslav lexemes is generally gradual. This proves that Preslav lexemes were introduced into Paromiarion as a liturgical text in the Western Bulgarian, Ohrid school of literacy, just as Preslav lexemes were also introduced into the full service Gospel. Referring to quantitative discrepancies in the distribution of doublet lexemes makes it possible to distinguish between Paromiarion's textual groups and trace the accumulation of doublet rows and the formation of synonymic relations.

Abstract Oil and gas companies continuously invest on digital transformation, to economically improve logistics workflow and enhance service providers interaction. A unique digital solution has been designed to automate business processes and reduce unexpected deviations from drilling operation execution process; to avoid unplanned costs and delays affecting overall drilling performance. The manuscript will focus on drilling process modifications and performance impact resulted from implementing drilling forecasting approach for materials and services. Company and Software Provider jointly developed and implemented drilling forecast Report on top of existing reporting system to support drilling operations execution as per short- and long-term plans set earlier. Overall workflow and interconnection logic of steps were defined based on current Company's Standard Operating Procedures detailing Drilling Operation Policies and Instructions. Which ensured the software solution to be fully compliant with Company requirement. The developed automated Report passed a series of comprehensive tests in real conditions and after proven success; was decided to be implemented in Production environment to be efficiently utilized. Following the specific logic of Company's drilling operations execution, the automated forecast report improved planning procedures and automated the information exchange between Company and respective Service Providers to support smooth logistics of materials and personnel that required to be delivered to rig sites or removed from it. Implementation of first phase required strong dedication of drilling engineers, the developed report was designed to eventually lighten the current workload and release additional man-hours in future to analyze and optimize existing procedures. As a digital solution, the report was designed to gather required information from different data sources and automatically compare it with current drilling operations status; to evaluate current phase and predict accordingly the next 10 days of forecast for drilling operations, materials to be prepared and personnel to be located. Which helped to assure materials and field engineers availability on rig site on time. Assuring cost saving and avoiding unplanned logistics costs due to potential deviation and optimized overall Company's financial burden. The forecast report is being developed to be auto generated and shared on daily basis for all rigs to be available for all suppliers on daily basis. Automated forecast Report implanted on top of existing database is enriching current reporting system. Utilizing a digital and automated approach for forecasting daily operation and planning tool for services and materials ahead of time would improve drilling performance efficiency, eliminate any unwanted delays and complement Company's digital strategy.

Digitalization is actively used by religious organizations. They use it both to coordinate their activities and to spread their beliefs, and even to construct sacred spaces in a virtual environment in which they can perform any ritual actions (pray, light a candle, etc.). Thanks to the Internet, it has become possible for representatives of various religious subcultures to promote their ideas about "tradition". These are not only numerous sites where you can keep track of the calendar of religious holidays, but also about what should be done on this day according to tradition, what should be eaten. There are a lot of sites dedicated to the traditions of religious piety. Their authors are engaged not only in preserving the tradition of piety known to them (there are many traditions of piety, these are local traditions), but also in constructing a new one. In many ways, the focus of such sites is related to the market of religious services. This is a profane level of preservation and construction of tradition. There are also a number of projects whose task is to preserve cultural monuments. These are primarily sites where digitized books and documents that can be attributed to church Tradition (works of theologians, manuscripts of religious content, documents) are posted. There are also sites dedicated to disappeared and preserved church buildings. And of course, websites, telegram channels, contact groups dedicated to icons. These resources are part of the "big tent of the humanities", and play not only an informational, but also a missionary role.

Abstract Well construction process can be presented as a set of the routine and repetitive actions which should be repeated at the planning, execution and evaluation stages. The manuscript describes how in the effort with major operating company the well planning stage was converted to a complete digital path; and how the digitalization of the planning was further transferred to the automated execution. Planning a well normally done with different computer software, where the data gathered from different engineering software should be input, as well as required drilling fluid, cementing and directional job plans and limits etc., followed by the written operational sequence. In the reviewed case all the planning was shifted to the cloud environment, including all simulations and reviews, where no "merge" of the data was required. All the required simulations are performed automatically, flagging those with the results out of the limit. The operational steps were detailed, and further connected to the rig Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) system, where multiple operations started to be performed in automatic mode, without any intervention from the rig crew (like survey, drilling parameters automatically adjusted to the sock and vibration, stick and slip, seeking for the best rate of penetration, driller's tasks while drilling, backreaming of stand etc.). The implementation of the digital planning allowed to align all stockholders involved during design stage, minimize human mistakes, and significantly decrease the planning time. The noticeable side effect is absence of any physical paper and as well as higher transparency during preparation. At the execution stage at the begging of the implementation the main benefit came from the standardization of the practices at the rig, what lead to absence of discrepancies. It further resulted in delivery of the all the wells under the same time with very minimum difference. And the final positive result came from the absence of any major service quality event (like stuck pipe) during automated operations. As of now the different levels of digitalization are implemented in 16 rigs, with further current expansion. The manuscript provides the novel information on the digitalization and automation of the well construction process. The explained methodology can be implemented at any project worldwide.

Delayed evacuation from a huge disaster is one of the factors that increase human damage. It has been pointed out the difficulty in urging an early evacuation after a disaster because people tend to underestimate information that is inconvenient for them, which is called normalcy bias. The most effective way to urge evacuation is to contact each of the evacuees directly, such as calling them. That is, we consider that we should provide information to evacuees that makes them feel as if it is being said to them directly. In this study, we focus on disaster alert services which send disaster information to personal mobile devices (i.e., smartphones) and consider textual expressions of alert that generate a sense of urgency for disaster. Since people always carry their smartphones with them, we expect that personal expression of alert will be possible using the information available on their own smartphones. As for information obtained from a device, in this study, we focus on the location information acquired from GPS and the behavioral information of the user acquired from the accelerometer. We assume that if an alert with textual expression that seems to identify the individual user by using these information is provided, the user receives it will feel as if it is being said to him/her directly. As for the degree of identification of individuals, three degrees of expression are set for location and behavioral information, respectively. Concretely, for location information, 1. the first indicates that a river has flooded, and 2. the second one gives the name of flooded river, and 3. the last shows the distance from the flooded river to user’s current location. For behavioral information, 1. the first includes no information about user’s behavior, 2. the second indicates that the user is reading the alert message, and 3. the last points out how the user is operating the smartphone (e.g., a smartphone is in user’s hand or on user’s desk). We set nine patterns of alert expression by combining the expression based on location and behavioral information. To verify the effectiveness of the alert expressions, we conducted a comparative verification experiment for them. In this experiment, we had the collaborators perform the specified daily task alone in a dark room hearing rain. While the collaborators were performing the task, the one evacuation alert of the nine patterns was sent to them. After receiving the alert, the collaborators confirmed it and then answered the questionnaire. Each of the collaborators repeated this process five times. In the questionnaire, we asked questions about how much they felt a sense of urgency, and how much they thought the alert was directed at them and so on. As a result of this verification, we found that textual expression using location information tend to be more effective as they feel that the message is being said to them. We will describe the detailed experimental results in the camera ready manuscript.

The accurate design, control and monitoring of the running gaps between static and moving components is vital to preserve the mechanical integrity and ensure the correct functioning of any compact rotating machinery. Throughout engine service, the rotor tip clearance undergoes large variations due to installation tolerances or as the result of different thermal expansion rates of the blades, rotor disk and casing during speed transients. Hence, active tip clearance control concepts and engine health monitoring systems rely on precise real-time gap measurements. Moreover, this tip gap information is crucial for engine development programs to verify the mechanical and aerothermal design, and validate numerical predictions. This paper presents an overview of the critical design requirements for testing engine-representative blade tip flows in a rotating turbine facility. The manuscript specifically focuses on the challenges related with the design, verification and monitoring of the running tip clearance during a turbine experiment. In the large-scale turbine facility of the von Karman Institute, a rainbow rotor was mounted for simultaneous aerothermal testing of multiple blade tip geometries. The tip shapes are a selection of high-performance squealer-like and contoured blade tip designs. On the rotor disc, the blades are arranged in seven sectors operating at different clearance levels from 0.5 up to 1.5% of the blade span. Prior to manufacturing, the blade geometry was modified to compensate for the radial deformation of the rotating assembly under centrifugal loads. A numerical procedure was implemented to minimize the residual unbalance of the rotor in rainbow configuration, and to optimize the placement of every single airfoil within each sector. Subsequently, the rotor was balanced in-situ to reduce the vibrations and satisfy the international standards for high balance quality. The single-blade tip clearance in rotation was measured by three fast-response capacitive probes located at three distinct circumferential locations around the rotor annulus. Additionally, the minimum running blade clearance is captured with wear gauges located at five axial positions along the blades chord. The capacitance probes are self-calibrated using a multi-test strategy at several rotational speeds. The in-situ calibration methodology and dedicated data reduction techniques allow the accurate measurement of the distance between the turbine casing and the local blade tip features (rims and cavities) for each rotating airfoil separately. General guidelines are given for the design and calibration of a tip clearance measurement system that meets the required measurement accuracy and resolution in function of the sensor uncertainty, nominal tip clearance levels and tip seal geometry.

Abstract Following the 4IR revolution, automation of oil and gas operations became a prime target. Various efforts have been put forward to create autonomous downhole tools which can increase the time and cost efficiency while reducing health and safety hazards. Navigation of the autonomous tools remains as one of the high barriers preventing these technologies from becoming available. This manuscript presents three new solutions we developed for our untethered autonomous logging tool to overcome this barrier. To increase the environmental self-awareness of downhole robots, we developed two technologies that will work together. The first technology is a low power miniaturized casing collar locator where a milimiter-size magnetometer chip and two 1-inch rod magnets are employed. The second technology is based on 1-D feature matching of residual magnetic fields generated by the steel casings. Here, two magnetometers are placed on the tool with a known separation along the direction of the motion. A correlation algorithm calculates the position and speed using the magnetic field logs. The low power miniaturized casing collar locator is placed on a wireline tool for the proof of concept demonstration. The tool was run in a water filled test well with 1450 feet depth. Decentralizers were used to keep the tool close to the casing wall. Clear peaks were observed at regular intervals. The detection depths were compared to a casing collar log run by a logging service company and one to one match was observed. The 1-D magnetic feature matching technology is demonstrated first by collecting residual magnetic field data from the same test well with a wireline tool. The collected signal was shifted in space and noise is added to mimic the difference with a second magnetometer. The matching algorithm was used to successfully find the shift between the two signals in time along the full log. This helped to estimate the speed of the tool which is used to calculate the position. Using information from the presented technologies, along with the data from other environmental sensors such as pressure and temperature will provide precise location that were not available before. The certainty will be improved by employing a Kalman filter that will integrate the sensor inputs. As in all autonomous vehicles, increasing the environmental self-awareness of autonomous downhole tools carries high importance for intelligent decision-making, successful and safe operation. Technologies fo surface applications, such as global positioning system, and radar may not be suitable for downhole environment. Therefore, new sensing technologies as we present here will accomplish these jobs for the robots operating below the surface.

Resumo:
Traffic signal performance measures based on connected vehicle (CV) trajectory data can provide practitioners actionable information on the operational state of their systems. A visualization framework that can enable agencies to quickly assess arterial-level performance by time-of-day (TOD) to identify challenges and opportunities has been recently developed. The framework provides information on four relevant signal performance measures over a corridor, including traditional Highway Capacity Manual (HCM) level of service (LOS), arrivals on green (AOG), split failures (SF), and downstream blockage (DSB). This document uses the proposed framework to provide 58 arterial-level performance reports analyzing 571 unique signalized intersections on 42 corridors in 14 different states. Results are estimated from over 18,000,000 vehicle trajectories and 328,000,000 GPS points. Since the reporting approach can provide up to 3,072 performance data points per intersection, this manuscript provides almost 2 million measures for all the analyzed locations.
