Two female American Black Ducks (Anas rubripes) were initially observed during June 1982 with 20 Class Ib or 18-22 Class Ia-b ducklings in two wetlands in Hancock County, Cherryfield, Maine. Fifteen of 20 ducklings (75%) in one brood and 16 of 18-22 ducklings (72-89%) in the other brood survived to fledge. These large broods probably resulted from post-hatch brood amalgamation.

Abstract Wednesday, July 22, 2009 marks the return of perhaps the most generous, beneficial, and historic eclipse series in modern times: saros 136. The last time saros 136 visited Earth, it brought the remarkable eclipse of July 11, 1991, which passed over the great telescopes on Mauna Kea in Hawaii and then over Mexico (with a maximum duration of 6 minutes 53 seconds) and, quite graciously, down the slender stem of land that is Central America on into South America. Before that, saros 136 brought the total eclipse of June 30, 1973 through Africa, with totality lasting as much as 7 minutes 4 seconds. It brought the total eclipse of June 20, 1955, with 7 minutes 8 seconds of totality—the longest of the twentieth century. And it brought the 7-minute-4-second total eclipse of June 8, 1937. Three consecutive eclipses with more than 7 minutes of totality. Just one cycle earlier, saros 136 produced the eclipse of May 23, 1919, which provided a crucial proof of Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity.

This chapter provides analysis of the First Petersburg Offensive and describes subsequent military events around Petersburg, including the Union infantry initiative styled the Second Petersburg Offensive, conducted June 20-24. This operation sought to move west and encircle Petersburg, in the process controlling two of the key railroads upon which the Confederates depended for supplies. The Second and Sixth Corps of the Army of the Potomac bore responsibility for the mission. The Second Corps met with defeat on June 22 and Confederate attacks compelled the Sixth Corps to fall back on June 23. These actions are sometimes called the Battle of Jerusalem Plank Road. The Unionists did manage to establish a bridgehead on the north side of the James at Deep Bottom in a separate operation. Abraham Lincoln made his first visit to the Petersburg front during this period.

"Amasya is one of the important cities in national struggle. After Atatürk landed on Samsun, he came to Amasya in 12th June, 1919 and continued his activities here. When he was in Samsun and Havza, he declared some decisions about the position of the country in those years and he ended his preparations in Amasya. During his stay in Amasya between 12 and 26 June 1919, the “Amasya Declaration”, which determined the course of the National Struggle, was published in Amasya on 22 June 1919. The core of these decisions can be described with these words ‘’ the independence of the nation is saved by the determination and the decision of the nation’’. The Amasya negotiations were made between 20 and 22 October 1919 and after these negotiations ‘’Amasya Protocols’’ were signed and published which resulted in assembleting Chamber of Deputies (Ottoman Empire). After Rebuplic was established, Atatürk as the President of Türkiye visited Amasya on 24th September, 1924, he expressed the importance of the Amasya Protocol with these words “I had the honor of having that member sign an agreement here, which fundamentally embodies respect for the existence and compliance with the will of the nation. Therefore, Amasya has always held a position of great importance in the history of Revolution and the Republic”. In National Struggle period, Association for the Defence of the Country was established with the guidance of Atatürk in Amasya on 14th June, 1919 and performed its national activities. On 7 and 8 August 1921, Amasya also made significant contributions to the National Struggle in accordance with the Tekâlif-i Milliye Orders. After the decleration of Turkish Republic, Atatürk visited Amasya on 24th September 1924, 18th September, 1928, and 22nd October 1930 for various reasons and made meetings with the local people."

Saruhan/Manisa was one of the four sanjaks of Aydın Province during the National Struggle. It consisted of eleven districts together with its center. Its total population in 1919 was 438,372. Approximately 88% of this population was Muslim and 12% was non-Muslim. Manisa came under the threat of occupation with the Armistice of Mondros. It was occupied on May 25, 1919, ten days after the occupation of Izmir. On May 29, Turgutlu was occupied. The Greeks also occupied Akhisar, but withdrew after five days. Soon after, the Kuvâ-yı Milliye fronts formed on the Akhisar-Soma and Salihli-Alaşehir lines. The Greek advance was halted by these fronts for nearly a year. After reinforcing their forces in the occupied area, the Greeks launched a new advance on June 20, 1920. Akhisar on June 22, Salihli on June 23, Alaşehir, Soma and Kırkağaç on June 24, Kula on June 28, Eşme on June 29, Gördes on July 15 and Demirci on July 21. Among these accidents, Gördes and Demirci were occupied four times. The Akıncı detachments in the region constantly distrupted the Greek army. Therefore, the Greeks had to retreat from time to time. The Greek army was defeated on August 30, 1922. It retreated towards Izmir, burning and destroying the places it passed through. The first center of Saruhan Sanjak liberated by Turkish troops was Eşme on September 3, 1922. On September 8, Manisa and finally on September 13, Soma came under the control of Turkish troops.

Abstract The revision of the ‘public interest test’ against which mergers were formerly assessed was one of the central ambitions of the Enterprise Act 2002. It was described by the Minister for Competition as ‘one of the cornerstones of the new regime ‘. The new substantive test, operative since 20 June 2003, is whether a relevant merger situation ‘has resulted, or may be expected to result, in a substantial lessening of competition within any market or markets in the United Kingdom for goods or services’. It is cited in section 22(1)(b) as regards completed mergers, and—with some slight variation to account for grammatical tense—in section 33(1)(b) for anticipated mergers. The identification of a likely substantial lessening of competition is the key prerequisite to any reference by the Office of Fair Trading. Similarly, the Commission may intervene in a merger only if it can concur with this view. The move to the new test has been widely lauded as confirmation that the protection of the competitive process provides the basis of the merger control regime.

Balanced nutrition in terms of necessary nutrients is one of the most urgent problems of humanity in the third millennium. Today, there is an acute shortage of complete proteins, polyunsaturated fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, dietary fibers and other nutrients all over the world. The purpose of the work is to analyze the literature on the content of vitamins, minerals, and polyphenols in peanuts grown in Ukraine, indicating the insufficient completeness of such studies, which does not allow the safe use of domestic peanuts in healthy food products and requires the search for ways of decontamination. As well as determining the optimal sowing dates, which affect the formation of the yield level. Methodology of the study sowing time is one of the agrotechnical methods that have a significant impact on the formation of peanut yield. In the domestic and foreign literature, there is no consensus on the sowing dates, when it is advisable to start sowing. Results. The largest mass of 1000 kernels was noting under the condition of early sowing of seeds on May 10. In the case of sowing on May 20 and June 1, a decrease in the mass of 1,000 kernels was observing on average by 22 g and 24 g, respectively, due to an increase in immature kernels. The yield of mature, conditioned grains ranged from 62.0% to 93.2%. At the same time, the highest content was also in the case of sowing on May 10, and the lowest – on June 1. Practical implications. Therefore, sowing on May 10 and 20 provided optimal conditions for the appearance of friendly seedlings and the growth and development of plants of the researched peanut variety, which contributed to an increase in yield. Peanuts, sown on June 1, required more time for sprouting, due to the lack of moisture in the soil, and the development of plants was slower than if they were sown on May 10 and 20. The crops of the first season entered the flowering phase earlier, which enabled more fruits to reach maturity before frost. Value. The technology is practically proving for this crop. After receiving all the seedlings (10-15 days after sowing), the rows were loosened to a depth of 6-7 cm to give air to the soil. 15 days after the first loosening, the second loosening was caring out to a depth of 10-15 cm. 15 days after the second loosening (30 days after germination); the first loosening was carried out. The purpose of tilling is to raise the soil as close as possible to the flowers so that they can take root. 14 days after the first brushing – the second brushing. 14 days after the second brushing – the third brushing. The need for water arises from the moment of flowering, so watering should be done from flowering and end a month before harvesting. Watering: Before each turning, 3-5 days (so that the soil has time to dry) – watering; after turning, you can also water if there is a need for this. Next, water as needed approximately once every 10 days.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Over half of childhood tuberculosis (TB) remains undiagnosed yearly. TB culture is often unavailable. WHO recommends Xpert-Ultra as first test for diagnosis of paediatric TB, but microbiological confirmation remains low and often requires invasive procedures. We aimed to determine the utility of Xpert-Ultra in stools and urine samples to diagnose TB in children living with HIV (CLWH) in two high-TB burden settings. METHODS This cross-sectional multicentric study took place at Simão Mendes hospital, Guinea-Bissau, from July 2019 to April 2020, and in Malakal hospitals, South Sudan, from November 2019 to June 2023. Children 6 months to 15 years with suspected TB underwent clinical and laboratory assessment, with one respiratory or extrapulmonary sample (gold standard (GS)), one stool and one urine specimen per patient analysed with Xpert-Ultra. RESULTS A total of 93 HIV-positive children were enrolled from Bissau (n=57) and Malakal (n=36), with 49 (53%) females and median (IQR) age of 3.3 (1.5-10) years. Three-quarters of children had severe acute malnutrition (SAM). A total of 72 (77%) children were on ART at baseline and 26/77 (34%) had CD4 count <200cells/mm3. Confirmation of TB was achieved in 20 (22%); 51 (55%) had unconfirmed TB, and 22 (24%) had unlikely TB. Of 93 children with GS diagnosis, the overall yield of positive TB results was 22% (20/93): 10% (9/90) in pulmonary samples and 20% (1/5) in extrapulmonary samples. A total of 86 and 91 samples were used to evaluate Xpert-Ultra on stools and urine, respectively. Compared to GS, sensitivity and specificity on stools were 87.5% (95%CI:52.9-97.8) and 100% (95%CI: 95.3-100), whereas on urine were 30% (95%CI:10.8-60.3) and 100% (95%CI:95.5-100), respectively. No patients were positive in stools or urine and negative with GS. CONCLUSIONS Xpert-Ultra in stools showed high sensitivity and specificity in HIV-infected children when compared to gold standard. Sensitivity of urine was low, but more research is needed to determine its clinical indication.

The methodology discussed in this paper provides a risk informed basis for decreasing the frequency of inspection for the Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) reactor pressure vessel (RPV). The decrease in frequency is based on extending the interval between inspections from the current interval of 10 years to 20 years. Results of pilot studies on typical designs of PWR vessels show that the change in risk associated with extending the inspection interval by more than 10 years is within the guidelines specified in U.S. Regulatory Guide 1.174 for insignificant change in risk. The current requirements for inspection of reactor vessel pressure-containing welds have been in effect since the 1989 Edition of American Society of Mechanical Engineers Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section XI, supplemented by U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Regulatory Guide 1.150, June 1981. The manner in which these examinations are conducted has recently been augmented by Appendix VIII of Section XI, 1996 Addenda, as implemented by the NRC in amendment to 10CFR50.55a effective November 22, 1999. This paper summarizes the insignificant change in risk results for the PWR pilot-plant studies, including the effects of fatigue crack growth and in-service inspection of postulated surface-breaking flaws. These results demonstrate that the proposed RPV inspection interval extension is a viable option for the industry.

The consumption of thermal energy for growing vegetables in greenhouses depending on the type of energy resource can make up to 40-60% of the production cost structure, so solutions to reduce it are pressing. Research on possibilities to accumulate thermal energy and extend the growing period was conducted in an experimental greenhouse with created gravel thermal mass for thermal energy accumulation in the hot periods and its recovery in the cool periods. The air delivery to the thermal mass and the recovery of thermal energy from it are provided by a fan, regulated by an automated control unit. A sensor system records the outdoor temperature, the temperature in the greenhouse and the thermal mass. The purpose of the research is to find out how much solar energy can be accumulated in the created thermal mass, as well as to study the possibilities of extending the vegetation period of the plants using the accumulated solar thermal energy. Experiments in the greenhouse were carried out on 01.06. to 05.12.2022. At the beginning of the period the average temperature in the thermal mass was 15 °C, in the middle of June it rose to 20 °C, and from then, until 29.08.2022, it kept fluctuating within the range of 20-22 °C. Despite the very high outdoor and greenhouse air temperatures, the thermal mass showed a positive effect by stabilizing the greenhouse and soil temperatures, thus improving the growing conditions. After 01.09.2022 the temperature in the thermal mass gradually decreased, and on 14.10. it reached the initial 15 °C. In the period of 136 days 4175 kWh of energy was accumulated in the thermal mass. From then until 13.11. the temperature in the thermal mass remained stable at 12 °C, which is the minimum, allowed for the plant growth in greenhouses, then a sharp drop followed, and vegetation ended. Under these meteorological conditions the use of the thermal mass allowed extending the vegetation period in the greenhouse by approximately 20 days.

This report captures insights gleaned from a meeting convened by the United Nations University’s International Institute for Global Health (UNU-IIGH), which took place on June 20-22. Across the three days, over two dozen delegates from 17 countries came together to envision, facilitate, and support “Enabling Environments to Advance Gender Equality in Health” through the use of a futures approach. A decolonial feminist lens informed the design and delivery of the meeting, guiding interpretations of our past, analyses of our present, and visions of our futures through an explicit interrogation of the ongoing impacts of coloniality as a racialised and gendered project.
