The concepts of (generalized)(θ,φ)-prederivations and (generalized) Jordan(θ,φ)-prederivations on a Lie superalgebra are introduced. It is proved that Jordan(θ,φ)-prederivations (resp., generalized Jordan(θ,φ)-prederivations) are(θ,φ)-prederivations (resp., generalized(θ,φ)-prederivations) on a Lie superalgebra under some conditions. In particular, Jordanθ-prederivations areθ-prederivations on a Lie superalgebra.

Jordan as a country that is flanked by several countries in conflict and does not have a wealth of natural resources, making alliances very important for the survival of the country. In meeting these needs, Jordan often allies with hegemonic actors for protective status as well as financial assistance. So in the scope of the Middle East, Jordan chose an alliance with the country of Saudi Arabia and its coalition in the Gulf region in the Gulf Cooperation Council. This alliance was continued until the 2017 Qatar diplomatic crisis, Jordan was forced to cut ties with Qatar so that the alliance with the Saudi kingdom would not be damaged. However, in 2019, Jordan normalized diplomatic relations with Qatar after their two-year stretch. This decision also came even though Saudi Arabia and its coalition had not normalized with Qatar itself, and could potentially jeopardize Jordan's existence if it did so because it was against the Saudi coalition. So the researcher tries to analyze this phenomenon using regional security theory and the level of national identity analysis. Researchers later found that the motive behind the decision was Qatar's support for the protective status of Jordan's Jerusalem.

As global concerns regarding climate change escalate, the imperative to transition towards sustainable and renewable energy sources becomes crucial for ensuring the well-being of our planet. This paper examines Jordan's pursuit of a sustainable energy landscape amid challenges such as population growth, economic uncertainties, and geopolitical intricacies. Jordan faces challenges like a widening energy supply and demand gap and reliance on fossil fuels. The paper explores how Jordan, with its abundant renewable resources, can utilize it to enhance political and economic stability. Jordan, stands as a notable example in the Middle East, ranking high in the Arab Future Energy Index Report (AFEX) for sustainable energy practices. This study identifies key barriers to Jordan's energy independence, including insufficient electrical grid infrastructure growth, historical unfair contracts, and reliance on international funds. Jordan's achievements in renewable energy are acknowledged, with the government's initiatives and international collaborations propelling the sector forward. Despite challenges, Jordan's commitment to increasing renewable energy targets and exploring green hydrogen strategies positions it as a key player in the global transition towards sustainable energy. The overview concludes by emphasizing the importance of addressing challenges, implementing technical recommendations, and contributing to economic development and environmental sustainability in the region. Abstract: Authentic existence is when we become what we are. Robert Jordan is an American fighting in support of the Republicans in the Spanish Civil War. He is given the task of blowing up the bridge as soon as the loyalists attack. Jordan, placed into this situation, displays authenticity in his existence as he makes choices and decisions and even puts his life into risk. Jordan succeeds in his mission of blowing up the bridge so that the Fascist forces may not use the road. Hemingway introduces a number of elements to increase difficulties in Jordan's way. But Jordan constantly proves his commitment by remaining single-minded and committed to his mission.

AbstractPeter van Inwagen's ‘No-Minimum’ argument boldly rejects a proposition widely accepted by theists and atheists alike: God and gratuitous evil are incompatible. Jeff Jordan (2003) criticizes van Inwagen's argument and (Jordan 2011) defends his position against Michael Schrynemakers (2007). I present two criticisms of Jordan. Concerning his first paper, I argue that if it is plausible to suppose that there exist undetectable evils, Jordan's argument is incomplete. Concerning his second paper, I show how Jordan fails to engage adequately with Schrynemakers's reply and, more seriously, with the notion of satisficing implicit in van Inwagen's No-Minimum argument. To draw out this second criticism, I make use of another debate in the philosophy of religion: the problem of no-best-world.

Objectives: The study aimed to identify the dilemma of resilience for the donors and the hosts in response for the Syrian refugee crisis in the case of Jordan and the European Union (EU) and how Jordan and the EU attempt to tackle it. Methods: The study was conducted and built primarily upon textual analysis of secondary data of various texts from official European and Jordanian websites, news reports, and scholarly literature on resilience, as well as document analysis of different EU-Jordan official policies including their bilateral and multilateral agreements to trace the goals for Jordan and the EU within these policies ,the shift towards resilience as a priority for the EU, the new mechanisms and tools the EU uses to build resilience in Jordan, and how it might be a better strategy, at the same time, dilemma for them both. Results: The results of the study showed that resilience may appear as a dilemma; however, the EU and Jordan are working to resolve it through focusing on its bright side. More importantly, its role in preserving Jordan's social cohesion and its stability makes it a better security strategy than providing humanitarian assistance. Conclusions: The study recommends the need for strategies to enhance resilience in both Jordan and the EU. Jordan can boost exports to the EU by raising awareness about the rules of origin scheme, especially among remote area industries. The EU should find a balance between its humanitarian and political efforts in the region.

Neil jordan, an irish writer-director in his forties, seems to epitomize in his work the cultural transition that, according to richard kearney, ireland has experienced for some time. His short stories, novels and five films all partake of a mexiture of tradition and innovation which is also characteristic of his own country. Three main themes can be studied in his works: other people; time; reality and appearance. People in neil jordan's world, whether teenagers or grown-ups, suffer from solitude and lack of communication in a life of boredom or routine. In his work, time is broken: the traditional linear narrative is replaced by various ways of representing time. The theme of reality and appearance encapsulates the writer-director's creative attitude: starting from realistic beginnings and rradually leading readers and spectators to an unknown, shadowy world

Most of the recent studies on the southern Jordan Bedouins portray the Bedouins as being resistant to change and development. These studies are more descriptive than analytical, focusing on romantic aspects of the Bedouin's lifestyle. In contrast, this study, based on fieldwork conducted in Wadi Rum between June-November 2004, attempts an ethnographical study that does not represent the Bedouins in a stereotypical way, neither romanticising them nor treating them as in need of development. It is based on an examination of the relationship between the socio-cultural, economic and political aspects of Bedouin society and the physical environment in which they live. The different types of settlements inhabited by Wadi Rum's Bedouin society are documented, and the contextual sources of change that shaped, and are still shaping the Bedouins' living patterns, are analyzed.

Correlations between societal development and climate changes have been investigated for a long period of time. At the archaeological site of Beidha, southern Jordan, most studies have focussed on the Late Pleistocene/Holocene, however, the importance of the Beidha region may even reach further back in time. The presence of water in a generally very dry landscape would have been crucial to early modern humans en route from Africa to all other continents. Through sedimentological observations and OSL dating, this study aims to contribute to solving the puzzle of the local landscape development at Beidha during a longer time scale. It is suggested that a long period of calm floodplain conditions took place, approximately during periods of high lake levels in Lake Lisan ~70-21 ka. After that, a period of soil development has been identified between two phases of aeolian deposition. More recently, during the Holocene, phases of mass flow events may have affected the area.

This thesis examines the development of graphic designer Fred Jordan\'s work and professional experience. No standard academic program or established approach for learning and practicing graphic design existed in Brazil during the first two decades of his career, and this analysis points out the distinct stages of Jordan\'s work between1940 and 1990. In the process, this research endeavors to describe the different phases of the designer\'s creative output against the historical background. lt demonstrates the significance of Jordan\'s work and how his projects allow us to understand the transformation of the graphic design discipline and industry, from his use of technology, techniques and themes, meeting the needs of the industrial revolution and the diversified consuming public. Focusing upon the Sao Paulo environment where he worked, the paper examines his influence on the field of visual arts, taking into account the profile of the professional design groups in Brazil at that time. Within this broader picture, it is possible to confirm the factors that influenced him, his circle of friends, his dialogue with intellectuals, artists and professionals in the visual arts and design community, as well as his areas of interest and study. To achieve this goal, the approach taken here was a recreation of the artist\'s life journey through extensive bibliographic research and a survey and organization of the Jordan family\'s collection of his work. Some of the sources, primarily the texts that discuss his work, bring to light Jordan\'s participation and influence on the Brazilian and international cultural scene. The study helps the reader understand several aspects of Jordan\'s work: his view of the meaning of art and the artist; the connection he made between contemporary design and themes employed by German authors and artists in the first half of the 19th Century;and his experiments based upon Goethe\'s Theory of Colours and the naturalistic thought of that German writer. Finally, it also presents a catalogue of Fred Jordan\'s designs and ofthe documentation related to his work.

Resumo:
Since 2015, both the donors (the European Union) and the hosts (Jordan) of the Syrian refugees have started to adopt resilience as a better security strategy. When dealing with crises, particularly those linked to prolonged wars with no foreseeable solutions in the near future, resilience has become a means and a goal. Yet, it may represent a dilemma for the EU and Jordan. Scholars like Giulia Sinatti and Rosanne Anholt argue that the EU, with its focus on resilience of the origin and transit countries of migrants and refugees, could jeopardize the stability of refugee-hosting states. These already burdened states with its own problems cannot handle more refugees. In addition, the refugees are facing many difficulties to find jobs and they are struggling to find their way to Europe. As a result, resilience may seem threatening rather than safeguarding the security of Europe. Thus, the paper’s main question is How are the donors and the hosts trying to resolve the dilemma of resilience, as a security strategy, in response for the Syrian crisis in the case of the EU and Jordan? Based on document analysis for the EU and Jordan׳s documents including their official bilateral and multilateral agreements, reports from their official websites and textual analysis of the current literature on building resilience, this paper argues that resilience may appear as a dilemma, however, the EU and Jordan are trying to resolve it by adopting resilience as a pragmatic approach, focusing on its bright side, and tackling the challenges, which appear as a result of adopting it. The EU׳s resilience building in Jordan aims to enhance the capacities of the refugees and the local communities and keep a balance between them. What's more, it aims to support those refugees’ self-reliance and Jordan׳s social cohesion. Thus, to keep the refugees in place and prevent them from flooding into Europe.

As countries around the world are racing towards realizing the common dream of humans creating long-term habitats in space, emerging space countries like Jordan, with no established space agency, are struggling to participate in the development of research and projects in the field. Additionally, due to the deteriorating economical situation in Jordan, students now seek professions with higher market demands and payment rates to ensure a safe career path. This led Jordanian students to overlook emerging fields of study like space. From here arises the need to conduct proper outreach to spread awareness on space research and its benefits, and to incorporate space studies in the Jordanian educational system in order to build a strong base of human resources in the field. Since Jordan is lacking in both educational and theoretical, as well as professional and practical sides, students mostly turn to completing their studies and gaining professional experience in the space field abroad. Therefore, before establishing Jordanian-targeted education programs and initiatives for space studies, there is the need for the establishment of local space institutes, projects, and programs which ensure that students will have access to training programs and practical experience as well as securing future job opportunities, thereby making space careers a viable option. In 2020, under the Moon Village Association's Participation of Emerging Space Countries program, a roadmap for Jordan’s contribution to lunar exploration and the Jordan Space Research Initiative (JSRI) were created. This 20-year roadmap focuses on establishing an analog R&D facility in Jordan’s Wadi Rum desert, aiming to support the emerging space field in Jordan, while contributing to its national priorities and sustainable development goals. Beginning with the outreach element to foster space education, JSRI launched two space design competitions in 2021 to engage students and professionals interested in the field. These competitions allowed the participants to learn about spacesuit and rover design, as well as develop their own prototypes in a hands-on educational exercise. By providing funding and expert support, JSRI ensured that a diverse group of Jordanians was able to participate, regardless of their backgrounds. This approach proved to be successful in enabling the participation of various segments of the Jordanian society, and has shown that people with a passion for space can thrive through educational initiatives such as these competitions. Building on this success, future partnerships and educational initiatives are being established, aiding in the formation of a space network in Jordan

The subcritical reactor is a kind of small nuclear facility, which may realize the chain reactor reaction through introducing an external neutron source to meet with the production, research, teaching, testing and training purposes. Meanwhile, the subcritical reactor will not reach the critical status, which has advantages of simple structure, safety, reliability. Jordan subcritical reactor is a light water moderated reactor, it employs the Pu-Be as external neutron source, and the neutron multiplication factor in the range of 0.94~0.95. Jordan subcritical reactor mainly consists of fuel elements, reactor core and reactor core vessel assembly, operation platform, water loop system, neutron source driving system, which can be used for the purposes of teaching, training, testing and research. This paper reviews the international application history of subcritical reactor and its status of research and development, describes the design purpose and requirement of Jordan subcritical reactor. The detailed structure design of Jordan subcritical reactor is illustrated. Furthermore, the structure design characteristics and some difficulties of Jordan subcritical reactor are mentioned in detail, such as the choose of structure materials, lay out of Jordan subcritical reactor, control of machining precision and sealing of pipes. Then, the possible solutions of these problems are presented. Now, the manufacture and installation of Jordan subcritical reactor has been completed, which fulfill the anticipated design requirement.

Resumo:
The International Health Regulations (2005) are legally binding on 196 States Parties, Including all WHO Member States. The IHR aims to keep the world informed about public health risks, through committing all signatories to cooperate together in combating any future “illness or medical condition, irrespective of origin or source, that presents or could present significant harm to humans.” Under IHR, states agreed to strengthen their public health capacities and notify the WHO of any such illness in their populations. The WHO would be the centralized body for all countries facing a health threat, with the power to declare a “public health emergency of international concern,” issue recommendations, and work with countries to tackle a crisis. Although, with the sudden and rapid spread of COVID-19 in the world, many countries varied in implementing the WHO guidelines and health recommendations. While some countries followed the WHO guidelines, others imposed travel restrictions against the WHO’s recommendations. Some states refused to share their data with the organization. Others banned the export of medical equipment, even in the face of global shortages. The UN Compliance Research group will focus during the current cycle on analyzing the compliance of the WHO member states to the organizations guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bolton, Laura. Attitudes to Water Usage in Jordan. Institute of Development Studies (IDS), julho de 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.19088/k4d.2021.105.

Resumo:
The author undertakes a literature review of attitudes to water usage in Jordan. One survey was identified which assessed attitudes towards water conservation, sampling 2000 residents in three regions in Jordan (Irbid, Amman, and Zarqa) in 2017. According to the survey, only 61% of respondents believed there was a water shortage in Jordan. 23% believed the water shortage was due to population pressures. The survey focussed more on water conservation than water use. Most of the respondents felt the government were not doing enough on water shortage issues. They were not asked how they feel about the role of the government versus their individual responsibility. Older respondents perceived the shortages to be more critical. A lack of interest in participating in water saving activities was identified among the youth. Water quality was perceived as poor in the USAID survey and noted in other sources. The survey found that most residents had management strategies in place for the day that the water was delivered. Views about politics of regional cooperation and refugee pressure on water use potentially affect attitudes to water but this was not identified specifically within the scope of this report.

EdTech Hub country scans explore factors that enable and hinder the use of technology in education. This includes policies, government leadership, private-sector partnerships, and digital infrastructure for education. The scans are intended to be comprehensive but are by no means exhaustive; nonetheless, we hope they will serve as a useful starting point for more in-depth discussions about opportunities and barriers in EdTech in specific countries, in this case, in Jordan. This report was originally written in June 2020. It is based primarily on desk research, with quality assurance provided by a country expert.

Iffat, Idris. Approaches to Youth Violence in Jordan. Institute of Development Studies, novembro de 2020. http://dx.doi.org/10.19088/k4d.2021.121.

Resumo:
Youth violence, particularly targeting the state as well as engagement in violent extremism, has been a persistent feature in Jordan over the past decade. There are numerous factors driving this: economic, political and social marginalization of young people; a search for purpose (in the case of religious extremism); and ineffective youth policies on the part of the government. Other key forms of marginalization in Jordan are ethnicity, gender and disability. With regard to community security mechanisms, Jordan has made efforts to introduce community policing. These link in with traditional tribal dispute resolution mechanisms, but the impact on youth is unclear. Psychosocial support for youth is important. Interventions will vary depending on needs and context, but sport and education (learning spaces) are especially effective avenues to reach young people. This review drew on a mixture of academic and grey literature. While it found significant literature about youth protests in Jordan (in particular in the early 2010s) and on drivers of youth violence, as well as other forms of marginalization in the country, there was very little on community security mechanisms – whether formal or informal. The review identified several sources of recommendations for psychosocial support programming (for youth), but few evaluations of such interventions specifically targeting youth in other countries. Overall, there are gaps in the evidence base, highlighting the need for further research.

Price, Roz. Evidence on the Advantages of Low Carbon Growth in Jordan. Institute of Development Studies (IDS), agosto de 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.19088/k4d.2021.117.

Resumo:
There has been a considerable amount of research generally into the benefits associated with low carbon development, showing that it can be synergistic with development priorities – such as job creation, improved public health, social inclusion and improved accessibility (see for example, Gouldson et al., 2018). However, this rapid review finds limited evidence and information around these benefits specifically for the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. There has been much interest in green growth in Jordan in the last ten years, particularly as Jordan is seen as having a large renewable energy potential for solar and wind. International organisations have been working with Jordan to develop comprehensive national plans and strategies to encourage green growth investment. Within the Jordanian government, the green growth concept has mainly been promoted by the Ministry of Environment. The World Bank in particular has produced a number of reports that have fed into this review, that explore or touch on green growth in Jordan – however, they themselves recognise that there is a lack of research on the economic and job-generating impacts of a green growth pathway in Jordan, and emphasise the need for further analysis (see specifically Hakim et al., 2017). Many of the green growth statistics referenced are from single reports undertaken a number of years ago – for example, that environmental degradation costs Jordan 2% of its GDP per year comes from a World Bank report written in 2010 and based on data from 2006 (World Bank, 2010). No more recent reviews were found during this rapid review. This review draws on a mixture of academic and grey literature from government and international organisations.
