Texto completo da fonteThe Pentecostal movement is gaining great momentum to day in the Ivory Coast. Taking the small town of Jacqueville as an exemple, this thesis aims at an anthropological analysis of the phenomenon. This required first a definition of what are the Pentecostal churches as well as a reflection on the notion of syncretism ; it appears that their charismatic aspect can not simply be understood as an incursion of representations and practice of local traditional systems, this would induce interpretative errors. The specificity of this religious discourse including different systems of representations must be understood in order to make sense of the cosmology it carries. Only them, when the diversity of the degrees of religious commitment which lead to conversion will be understood, will we understand its social incidences. The new representations it generates among the faithful, appear capable to allow certain levels of adaptation to the new economic dimensions present in the country. By redefining the notion of individual and encouraging a break with the traditional lineage system, the Pentecostal theory tends to modify the social relationships of the adepts. However, by declaring diabolical all traditional mystical actions it reaffirms their effectiveness and does not deny the representations they imply. Conversion to Pentecotism, allowing adaptation to modernity, could then be some a means to participate of modernity, relatively speaking of course, but without disenchantment, since it does not remove sense and meaning to terrestrial events

Texto completo da fonteIn this context, the analysis in this thesis is based on the hypothesis that the development delay of Jacqueville following the construction of the bridge is due to planning that inadequately or insufficiently considers the socio-economic development opportunities linked to the significant daily mobility practices of populations to and from Jacqueville. Thus, this thesis presents the main characteristics of post-bridge mobility highlighted against the problematic dimensions of population mobility movements before the bridge to and from Jacqueville. Next, we will highlight the bridge's effect on the dynamics of local development to present the main results and some strategic orientation proposals. To this end, it is necessary to focus on the functioning of the city's management system mechanism, while emphasizing the issue of mobilizing own resources to guarantee investments and ensure local development

Texto completo da fonteThis paper analyses the use of modem medical care for Jacqueville's children. It is based on a demographic survey made in 1993 in Jacqueville (a town in south Cote d'lvoire) and a socio-anthropological survey made in 1993 and 1997. It shows, between the analyse ofivorian heath policy, that crisis (economical, political and social) which caracterise this country since 1980, is unfavourable for the use of modem medical care. And the analyse of concrete behaviour in Jacqueville allows to specify that this context handicaps the supply of medical modem care. But in this crisis context, modem medicine is highly used for children care : all women use prenatal care, 85% of children are born in hospital, and 60% have been vaccinated. This important use is du to the faith of population in this heath system, even if, alimentation of children is not manage by this system. This behaviour in based on network of solidarity. So, infra and extrafamilial solidarity are efficient means to support children heath costs. But these networks are not spared by financial difficulties. They put emphasis on the aid of the close family. And certain households don't receive the aid of networks. They are obliged to adont others strategies to obtain modem medical cure, often prejudicial for children
