Nafi, Madjid Michael W. "Islam, raison et politique : une analyse inspirée de la pensée d'Eric Voegelin". Paris 7, 2012. http://www.theses.fr/2012PA070118.
Texto completo da fonteThis dissertation examines Islam's rapport with reason and politics. The investigation was not carried out within the thought of a specific author or within a given historical school of thought. The purpose was to identify some general structures beyond the diverse manifestations of this rapport. The dissertation also offers an analysis of the very categories of reason and politics through Eric Voegelin's political philosophy. This work which is also a contribution to postcolonial theory follows two parallel lines: on one hand, it endeavors to render Eric Voegelin's philosophical insights explicit and, on the other hand, it caries out an analysis of a corpus of texts from the Muslim world on the basis of such insights. The main conclusion of this dissertation is as follows: the heated historical debates on the status of human rationality within the Islamic polity could be better understood if they are brought Gloser to the hermeneutics of Platonic and Aristotelian nous developed by Eric Voegelin. It reverses a widely-held opinion by suggesting that it is not within the rational theology practiced by the Mu'tazila that one finds the most interesting discussions on reason but rather in the writings o such thinkers as Ibn Taymiyya, the author of a treatise against Greek logic. Two paradigmatic fields within the history of Sunni Islam were explored in the first two sections: the graduai elaboration of the ethical/legal universe of the sharia, and the debates around the notion of fitra or human nature which appeared long before the Islamic reception of the Greek philosophical corpus

Texto completo da fonteIt is often said that Christianity and Islam are similar from the point of view of spirituality, especially when their respective dogmas are put in brackets. But when Christians and Muslims refer to "the love of God" as a field of common experience, what exactly is being referred to? And what God is being dealt with? We are of the opinion that "faith alone" is insufficient to describe the relationship of love the believer often claims: the use and function of reason working inside such a relationship are far more relevant. Through the critical study, edition and first published French translation of works of Elias, Eastern Syriac Bishop of Nisibis in the 11th/5th century, and Ibn Taymiyya, Hanbali Doctor in the 14th/7th century, we penetrate the heart of these two systems of thought, once we have clarified our scientific knowledge of such two religious leaders and established their historical link: in fact, Elias of Nisibis can be held as indirectly responsible for Ibn Taymiyya's famous, lengthy “Valid Response to Those who Have Corrupted the Religion of the Messiah”, which has constantly been republished in Arabic since 1905/1332. After sketching out some responses to the Response, we show, on the one hand, that the "love" these two authors are refering to does not bear an identical figure and, on the other hand, that their respective assertions of non-contradiction between faith and reason are far from having the same implications. How a believer accounts for his creed and tests its consistency with his personal, community, and political life, indeed ultimately highlights what he means by "love", and thereby points to the face of his God

Texto completo da fonteOur research focuses on the conceptual potential of renewing the philosophical field of contemporary Islam – thanks to the encounter with the philosophy of science and complexity. By undertaking a certain circulation of ideas between different disciplines, spaces and times, we explore the opportunities of creating a metaphysical space capable of operating a kind of cognitive contamination, by generating some effects of transversality and interdisciplinarity , as well as, oblique insights into a theological-political phenomenology which we also intend to analyze. The philosophy of science interferes as a way to re-humanize the religious rationality in Islam, which – and this is one of our main assumptions – seems to be more and more reductionist, materialistic, dogmatic. Positivism and scientificity are on the side of a religious fundamentalism that according to our definition "essentializes what is accessory and accessorizes what is essential". Our research explores new areas of circulation of ideas ; between the Bachelardian "ideal of complexity" and a more welcoming extended and post-Western rationality; between a Qur'anic reason for which we intend to show its complex texture and Leibniz’s Monadology which remains the most complete harmonic expression of what exists, between the significant fragment and the immeasurable whole. This vast flow of ideas helps us to enlarge the philosophical horizons of contemporary Islam at a time when it initiates, particularly on the European soil and after the Arab social revolutions, a new phase of its development
Guetat, Meriem. "Raison juridique islamique et droit international. Essai de modélisation des réactions des systèmes juridiques en interaction avec l'ordre juridique international". Thesis, Nice, 2015. http://www.theses.fr/2015NICE0049/document.
Texto completo da fonteThe relationship between Islam and international law is traditionally studied in terms ofresistances and conflicts. Despite being the translation of an established reality, this approach fails to grasp the complex dynamics which lead to such reactions. In order to overcome this fixed point of view, it seems appropriate to approach the study subjects while in interaction and attempt to deduce a model from the ensuing reactions. This attempt could only be realised by following a systemic method which is capable of taking into consideration all the elements influencing the reactions of the studied legal systems and their evolutions. This method could be found in the theory of legal reason developed by A.J. Arnaud and applied to the Islamic example. In this regard, the legal reason method shows that, beyond the primary reactions of preservation, the interaction with the international legal order could also be the bearer of a movement of innovation. This method allows the deconstructing of the traditional point of views on the relationships between international law and Islam. It also allows to offer a multidimensional point of view and constitutes a stance on the appropriate way to study legal phenomena. Thus, instead of resolving to recognise the impossibility of harmonising the ideals of the international law and the legal systems based on a Islamic legal reason, this study attempts to understand the dynamics which take place during these interactions in order to predict the reactions and the transformations. The result of this pragmatism is that the reconciliation is no longer seen as finality but a possibility

Texto completo da fonteThe concept of finality of prophethood is a central doctrine in Islam. R. Blachère (d. 1973) talks about a “theological dogma of primary value”. However, like for all doctrines, this one has a background which goes back to the debates following Muḥammad’s death. Precisely, the debates were aimed at knowing if the prophecy was sealed after him? The crucial point of those debates concerns a passage from the Qur’ān, the Q. 33, 40, in which the epithet khātam is applied to Muḥammad. Indeed, numerous polemical debates had been fed by this passage up to the 8th/14th century concerning the question of prophecy, prophetic heritage, excommunication, consensus, sainthood, etc. However, since the nineteenth century, several Muslim thinkers proposed to renew the terms of the debate. In their writing, the concept of khātam al-nabiyyīn (seal of prophethood) or khatm al-nubuwwa (finality of prophethood) becomes indicative of a set of questions going beyond knowing if prophecy stops or continues after Muḥammad. Through this concept, they examine the relationship between Islam and Reason, Religion and History, Islam and Modernity, etc. In this study we raise a precise picture of the different interpretations of this concept both those developed in the earliest centuries of Islam and those written by modern and contemporary Islamic thinkers. Such an approach will allow us to follow concretely the evolution of the Islamic thought over a fundamental doctrine. It will also allow to highlight how, in the contemporary Islamic thought, some thinkers are trying to free the Qur’ānic text from issues goes back to the first generations of Islam

Texto completo da fonteMaimonides (d. 601/1204) is universally recognized as a leading rabbinic authority in Judaism. His eminence as a philosopher made him an indispensable source in Jewish, Christian and Islamic philosophical and religious thought. The present study aims to analyze the origins of the doctrine of prophecy in Maimonides' philosophy by studying, first, the original sources and then to compare them with the works completed by Muslim philosophers, most notably, Fārābī, Ibn Sīnā and Ibn Bāğğa. Chapter I addresses Maimonides' definition of prophecy. Chapter II examines the role of imagination in the prophecy. Chapter III is devoted to the political implications of prophecy

Texto completo da fonteThis study consists of 10 parties and several sub-areas. All these parts address various topics, but that all links between them. At first, I'm particularly interested in the ideological and political bases of political Islamism. A second part is devoted to some guilds as social forces of the development of political Islam. In a third section, I address the social context of Islamist political movement before being interested in a fourth time on international factors in the progress of political Islam in Turkey. In a fifth section, I examine the major internal factors of progress of political Islam. The sixth part deals with the areas of organizational and strategic priorities of Islamist movements. The next chapter concerns more particularly the importance of the actions of Islamists in education policy. The eighth part of this study is the policy of the Islamic movements to the media, particularly through the study of their publications and their channels of radio and television. In a ninth part, I'm particularly interested in the economic impact of Islamist organizations, through the study of development of Islamic capital. To conclude, I draw up an inventory of radical Islamist organizations and their violent actions
