The' first part of this thesis achieves a complete study of B process for single exponential sums or sums with a parameter. In the second part, Fouvry and Iwaniec's method for multiple exponential sums with monomial is combined with A and B Van der Corput's process to get new bounds for single exponential sums which complete Huxley's table. The third part gives an accurate estimation for single oscillating integrals when the critical point is close to the endpoints of the integration interval which applies to mean values of oscillating integrals such as those that occur in the study of multiple B transform

Texto completo da fonteIn the recent years, covariance matrices have demonstrated their interestin a wide variety of applications in signal and image processing. The workpresented in this thesis focuses on the use of covariance matrices as signatures forrobust classification. In this context, a robust classification workflow is proposed,resulting in the following contributions.First, robust covariance matrix estimators are used to reduce the impact of outlierobservations, during the estimation process. Second, the Riemannian Gaussianand Laplace distributions as well as their mixture model are considered to representthe observed covariance matrices. The k-means and expectation maximization algorithmsare then extended to the Riemannian case to estimate their parameters, thatare the mixture's weight, the central covariance matrix and the dispersion. Next,a new centroid estimator, called the Huber's centroid, is introduced based on thetheory of M-estimators. Further on, a new local descriptor named the RiemannianFisher vector is introduced to model non-stationary images. Moreover, a statisticalhypothesis test is introduced based on the geodesic distance to regulate the classification false alarm rate. In the end, the proposed methods are evaluated in thecontext of texture image classification, brain decoding, simulated and real PolSARimage classification

Texto completo da fonteThis thesis deals with the study of two periodic Toda lattices with two degrees of freedom, namely those which are associated to affine Lie algebras. For each of these systems, we first show its algebraic integrability. This allows us to use methods of algebraic geometry to describe its generic invariant surfaces, their compacification as Abelian varieties, the configuration and the singularities of the curves at infinity. As an application, we obtain in the first case a characterisation of the generic invariant surfaces as jacobians of Riemann surfaces of genus two, a morphism to Mumford system and a new Lax equation, which allows us to give the explicit solution in terms of theta functions. For the second case, we show that the invariant surfaces are (1,2) polarized Abelian varieties, that we characterize as Prym varieties associated to Riemann surfaces of genus three, admitting an involution

Texto completo da fonteIn this thesis, we deal with two problems : sign changes of Kloosterman's sums Kl(1,1;n) for n with few prime factors, and small gaps between non-consecutive primes. In the first chapter, we improve on a result of Fouvry-Michel by iterating once the strange sieve they have introduced, in order to get a lower bound. This allows us to prove that Kl(1,1;n) changes sign infinitely often on the set of all n whose prime factors are greater that n^(1/22. 29) (instead of 23. 9). In the second chapter, we introduce Sato-Tate's vertical law into the asymptotic sieve. This implies new problems to deal with error terms ; we solve them using Barban-Davenport-Halberstam's theorem. We prove the following result : Kl(1,1;n) changes sign infinitely often on the set of all square-free n with at most 18 prime factors (instead of 23 for Fouvry-Michel). In this aim, we compute (thanks to the residue theorem) 5-fold integrals of rational fractions in Riemann zeta function. This computation is worked out in a very general setting through a technical lemma, to which Chapter 3 is devoted. The fourth chapter deals with such integrals, too, but which don't fit into that setting. These integrals appear in Goldston-Yildirim's works on multiple correlations of the truncated Von Mangoldt function. By combining this approach with Maier's, we improve on the best known upper bound (due to Maier) of liminf (p_(n+r)-p_n)/(log p_n) for r ≥2 (where p_n stands for the n-th prime number)

Texto completo da fonteComplex analysis is a powerful tool to study classical integrable systems, statistical physics on the random lattice, random matrix theory, topological string theory, … All these topics share certain relations, called "loop equations" or "Virasoro constraints". In the simplest case, the complete solution of those equations was found recently : it can be expressed in the framework of differential geometry over a certain Riemann surface which depends on the problem : the "spectral curve". This thesis is a contribution to the development of these techniques, and to their applications.First, we consider all order large N asymptotics in some N-dimensional integrals coming from random matrix theory, or more generally from "log gases" problems. We shall explain how to use loop equations to establish those asymptotics in beta matrix models within a one cut regime. This can be applied in the study of large fluctuations of the maximum eigenvalue in beta matrix models, and lead us to heuristic predictions about the asymptotics of Tracy-Widom beta law to all order, and for all positive beta. Second, we study the interplay between integrability and loop equations. As a corollary, we are able to prove the previous prediction about the asymptotics to all order of Tracy-Widom law for hermitian matrices.We move on with the solution of some combinatorial problems in all topologies. In topological string theory, a conjecture from Bouchard, Klemm, Mariño and Pasquetti states that certain generating series of Gromov-Witten invariants in toric Calabi-Yau threefolds, are solutions of loop equations. We have proved this conjecture in the simplest case, where those invariants coincide with the "simple Hurwitz numbers". We also explain recent progress towards the general conjecture, in relation with our work. In statistical physics on the random lattice, we have solved the trivalent O(n) model introduced by Kostov, and we explain the method to solve more general statistical models.Throughout the thesis, the computation of some "generalized matrices integrals" appears to be increasingly important for future applications, and this appeals for a general theory of loop equations

Texto completo da fonteIn this thesis, we study four non-local evolution equations. The solutions of these four equations can blow up in finite time. In the theory of nonlinear evolution equations, a solution is qualified as global if it isdefined for any time. Otherwise, if a solution exists only on a bounded interval [0; T), it is called local solution. In this case and when the maximum time of existence is related to a blow up alternative, we say that the solution blows up in finite time. First, we consider the nonlinear Schröodinger equation with a fractional power of the Laplacien operator, and we get a blow up result in finite time Tmax > 0 for any non-trivial non-negative initial condition in the case of sub-critical exponent. Next, we study a damped wave equation with a space-time potential and a non-local in time non-linear term. We obtain a result of local existence of a solution in the energy space under some restrictions on the initial data, the dimension of the space and the growth of nonlinear term. Additionally, we get a blow up result of the solution in finite time for any initial condition positive on average. In addition, we study a Cauchy problem for the evolution p-Laplacien equation with nonlinear memory. We study the local existence of a solution of this equation as well as a result of non-existence of global solution. Finally, we study the maximum interval of existence of solutions of the porous medium equation with a nonlinear non-local in time term
