As the capital city and the center of various economic activities, Jakarta continues to experience population growth and infrastructure. On the other hand, climate change is an issues that must be faced globally, including Jakarta. Development strategies need to consider the aspects of climate change to reduce potential environmental impacts that will occur. The purpose of this study is to understand the current climate and its potential for future changes in the northern coastal area of Jakarta. Current climate information is obtained from meteorological data from the Meteorology Climatology Geophysics Agency (BMKG) observation station, while climate information of future climate projections, up to 2100, is obtained from 21 member data from Global Circulation Models (GCMs) . The method used is statistical downscaling quantile bias correction to obtain local climate projection information. The analysis presented in this study is a statistical extreme analysis for the variables of the temperature and the rainfall. Based on observation data, the baseline climatic conditions have experienced an increasing trend of temperature of 1.1 C. The potential for this temperature increase will continue to 0.5 – 1 C in 2050 and 1-3 C in 2100. Meanwhile, on the rainfall variable, future climate change has an impact on early of the start and prolonging the rainy season. The climate models show that extreme rainfall will increase between 15-26 % in the 100-year return period of current climatic conditions.

The fundamental objective of this research is to learn how trade liberalization, male employment, urbanization, and foreign direct investment (FDI) affect women’s participation in the labor force. To continue, this study aims to determine the effects of trade and other factors on women’s employment in three distinct sectors (i.e., agriculture, industry, and service). From 1991 to 2021, we analyzed data from eight SAARC countries. The study’s theoretical foundation was the Cobb–Douglas production function. To better understand the connections between trade liberalization and the SAARC labor market, this paper used panel quantile regression (QR) and generalized method of moments (GMM) to empirically explore the key determinants of female employment in total and three sub-sectors. The QR method was used in the study because it looks at how variables affect each other beyond the data mean. Additionally, our data set does not follow a normal distribution, and the connection between the explained and explanatory factors is non-linear. Trade openness has a beneficial effect on total female employment throughout system GMM and all quartiles. Total female employment also benefits from an increase in GDP and FDI. However, women’s access to the workforce is hampered by urbanization. Many strategies for increasing women’s participation in the workforce across three sectors are addressed in this article. The major finding of this study is the rate of change in female employment across three industries. Women’s participation in the service and manufacturing sectors increases, whereas their participation in agriculture decreases, as a result of increased trade openness. Although these studies can assist policymakers in choosing the best feasible trade adjustments, they will also add to diverse academic and policy discussions on trade liberalization and its gender consequences. Since trade has become more accessible, more and more women are entering the workforce. Therefore, workers should acquire industrial and service-sector-related competencies.

Vaccine hesitancy continues to be prevalent in the United States, especially in relation to the COVID-19 vaccines and its boosters, which have been made increasingly available for public use as the pandemic has progressed. There continues to be concern surrounding the safety and health of secondary or high school education professionals as they transition back to in-person learning and working opportunities. The present study highlights how information dissemination regarding the COVID-19 vaccine has varied among New Jersey secondary or high school teachers throughout the pandemic. The survey was completed online through the PsychData platform by 269 participants between March and July 2022. Participants received the opportunity to complete the survey via email. Afterwards, data were exported and analyzed using Microsoft Excel and SAS 9.4 Analytics Software and stratified by various clinical and demographic-based variables. While trusted agencies and media outlets identified by participants varied, most participants identified the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (65.4%), primary care providers (37.5%), and state health departments (28.6%) as their top trusted sources for information related to COVID-19 vaccines. Overall, COVID-19 vaccination advocacy and educational efforts should continue across the state of New Jersey and elsewhere, especially as more variants emerge and boosters become available.

In this paper, a statistical methodology is introduced for identifying the most effective way to install a limited number of sensors on a typical distributed-parameter system, i.e., a three-span continuous bridge model with two elastic supports to extract as much information as possible. This is performed by minimizing the uncertainties associated with the identified bridge modeling parameters. In the proposed methodology, the information entropy is employed as a measure to quantify the uncertainty of the identified structural modeling parameters. The problem of optimal sensor placement is then formulated as a continuous optimization problem, in which the information entropy is minimized, with the sensor configurations as the minimization variables. The generally used discrete-coordinate systems modeled by the finite element (FE) method can only approximate their actual dynamic behavior, which would in turn influence the sensor configuration results, and the sensors are confined to be only put on discrete nodes related to the coarse mesh scheme usually employed. For structures such as bridges belonging to typical distributed-parameter systems, it’s more reasonable and convenient to be modeled as continues-coordinate system with analytical formulation. It’s the main purpose of this paper to develop a sensor placement method for continues-coordinate systems following the Bayesian theorem and the information entropy method, with the binary-encoded genetic algorithm (GA) employed as the optimization technique.

The Islamic capital market in Indonesia continues to grow, especially in the List of Sharia Securities (DES). Each year the DES on the stock effect continues to increase in the number of issuers. In Islamic stocks there are several stock indices, one of which is the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII). The JII index has decreased and increased in the 2014-2017 period. Usually, investors will analyze before buying shares, one of them is by doing a fundamental analysis or looking at the company's financial performance, so that investors will get information about the profit opportunities that they will get. Therefore this study aims to analyze and provide empirical evidence of the effect of Net Profit Margin (NPM), Return on Equity (ROE), Earning per Share (EPS), Debt Equity Ratio (DER) and Firm Size on the stock price of companies listed in JII. The samples used in this study were 18 company stock prices with the 2014-2017 time period. Based on the results of testing using EViews 10 software, simultaneously NPM, ROE, EPS, DER, and Firm Size have a significant effect on stock prices. While partially only the ROE and EPS variables have a significant effect on stock prices. Other variables, NPM, DER, and Firm Size have no significant effect on stock prices.

Background By 2035, it is expected that older adults (aged 65 years and older) will outnumber children and will represent 78 million people in the US population. As the aging population continues to grow, it is critical to reduce disparities in their representation in medical research. Objective This study aimed to describe sociodemographic characteristics and health and information behaviors as factors that influence US adults’ interest in engaging in medical research, beyond participation as study subjects. Methods Nationally representative cross-sectional data from the 2014 Health Information National Trends Survey (N=3677) were analyzed. Descriptive statistics and weighted multivariable logistic regression analyses were performed to assess predictors of one’s interest in patient engagement in medical research. The independent variables included age, general health, income, race and ethnicity, education level, insurance status, marital status, and health information behaviors. Results We examined the association between the independent variables and patient interest in engaging in medical research (PTEngage_Interested). Patient interest in engaging in medical research has a statistically significant association with age (adjusted P<.01). Younger adults (aged 18-34 years), lower middle-aged adults (aged 35-49 years), and higher middle-aged adults (aged 50-64 years) indicated interest at relatively the same frequency (29.08%, 29.56%, and 25.12%, respectively), but older adults (aged ≥65 years) expressed less interest (17.10%) than the other age groups. After the multivariate model was run, older adults (odds ratio 0.738, 95% CI 0.500-1.088) were found to be significantly less likely to be interested in engaging in medical research than adults aged 50 to 64 years. Regardless of age, the strongest correlation was found between interest in engaging in medical research and actively looking for health information (P<.001). Respondents who did not seek health information were significantly less likely than those who did seek health information to be interested in engaging in medical research. Conclusions Patients’ interest in engaging in medical research vary by age and information-seeking behaviors. As the aging population continues to grow, it is critical to reduce disparities in their representation in medical research. Interest in participatory research methods may reflect an opportunity for consumer health informatics technologies to improve the representation of older adults in future medical research.

Quantum Processes, Systems and Information is a textbook aimed at advanced undergraduate students that brings together more traditional quantum mechanics topics and quantum information theory. The book is novel both in this focus and its presentation of the material. The first five chapters discuss the basics of quantum theory using three isomorphic two-level systems: a photon in a Mach–Zehnder interferometer, a spin ½ particle and a two-level atom. These chapters also develop basic quantum information concepts such as the entropy of a message, interpreting unitary time evolution in terms of information capacity and the difference between distinct and distinguishable states in terms of the basic decoding and distinguishability theorems. The text then continues (chapters 6–9) with two-particle states, including entanglement, hidden variables, the no-cloning theorem, density operators and open systems. The transition to continuous systems, the starting point for many quantum mechanics textbooks, is made only in chapter 10, and the following chapters include standard wave mechanics found in many texts. The final three chapters revert the focus back to quantum information processing.

In investment activities, investors need accounting information as a basis for making decisions. To be useful for decision making, the information must meet the relevant qualities seen from the reaction of the capital market through stock price movements. Since earnings is not the only indicator used to measure a company's financial performance, many studies have been conducted and developed to investigate new alternatives for measuring value relevance. Therefore, this study is interested in adding other information variables, namely operating cash flows and dividends. The manufacturing industry sector is an interesting sector to study because the manufacturing industry sector continues to grow and continues to increase from time to time. This study aims to determine the value relevance of accounting information on manufacturing companies listed on the IDX for the period 2011-2020. The object of this research is the annual financial statements of manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2011-2020. Based on the purposive sampling method, a sample of 380 observations was obtained consisting of 38 companies per year. The data analysis techniques used in this research are pooling test, classical assumption test, descriptive statistical test, F test, t test and coefficient of determination test. The results of the tests carried out show that the data can be pooled. From the results of the t-test, each of the four accounting variables tested has a sig value below 0.05 with a positive sign coefficient. The Adjusted R2 value of earnings and book value of equity is 73% and the Adjusted R2 value of earnings, book value of equity, operating cash flow and dividends is 76.4%. The conclusion of this research indicates that there is insufficient evidence that earnings, book value of equity, operating cash flow and dividends have a positive effect on stock prices. Key words: Earnings, Book Value of Equity, Operating Cash Flow, Dividends and Stock Prices

Organizations are increasingly sourcing their business processes through external service providers, a practice known as Business Process Outsourcing (BPO). Worldwide, the current BPO market could be as much as $279 billion and is predicted to continue growing at 25% annually. Academic researchers have been studying this market for about 15 years and have produced findings relevant to practice. The entire body of BPO research has never been reviewed, and this paper fills that gap. We filtered the total studies and reviewed 87 empirically robust BPO articles published between 1996 and 2011 in 67 journals to answer three research questions: What has the empirical academic literature found about BPO decisions and outcomes? How do BPO findings compare with Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO) empirical research? What are the gaps in knowledge to consider in future BPO research? Employing a proven method that Lacity et al. (2010) used to review the empirical ITO literature, we encapsulated this empirical literature on BPO in a way that is concise, meaningful, and helpful to researchers. We coded 43 dependent variables, 152 independent variables, and 615 relationships between independent and dependent variables. By extracting the best evidence, we developed two models of BPO: one model addresses BPO decisions and one model addresses BPO outcomes. The model of BPO decisions includes independent variables associated with motives to outsource, transaction attributes, and client firm characteristics. The model of BPO outcomes includes independent variables associated with contractual and relational governance, country characteristics, and client and supplier capabilities. Overall, BPO researchers have a broad and deep understanding of BPO. However, the field continues to evolve as clients and suppliers on every inhabited continent participate actively in the global sourcing community. There is still much research yet to be done. We propose nine future paths of research pertaining to innovation effects, retained capabilities, environmental influences, global destinations, supplier capabilities, pricing models, business analytics, emerging models, and grounded theory development.

Using data of 11526 residential postpaid subscribers of the German subsidiary of a multinational mobile network operator (MNO) extracted from the firm's customer and billing records, this investigation empirically examines the association between monthly mobile Internet (MI) data traffic volume generated by consumers and their monthly number of SMS sent at the within- and between-subjects levels over 25 months from October 2011 to October 2013. Multilevel analysis of the time-varying and -constant study variables suggests that, in spite of a sharp decrease in the average/median number of outgoing SMS in the course of the investigation period, customer heterogeneity with regard to the relationship between MI and SMS use intensities is very large. The number of customers with a negative with-person regression slope for MI data volume is almost as high as the number of consumers, whose slope is positive. Subscribers, who are most likely to reduce their SMS volume in parallel to an increase of their MI data traffic, are persons, who (1) are heavy SMS users in the initial study period (October 2011), (2) are female, (3) have a longer MNO tenure, (4) are currently in an SMS flat price scheme, (5) are presently equipped with an Apple iPhone or a Samsung Galaxy smartphone and (6) put their current handset into operation more recently. Implications of these findings for service-marketing strategies of MNO and for future research on demand interdependencies between relatively newly introduced and well-established mobile communications services are discussed.

The distribution of city gas to consumers as clean energy has expanded. Despite its expansion, the trend can run into a drop in consumer demand. This can be the case if factors that control its growth are improperly managed. Hence, regulating the variables are of critical relevance. The data movement from year to year continues to show an expanding tendency with reference to the Indonesian city gas industry. This study can further improve knowledge of Indonesia's city gas distribution industry and to paint a clearer picture of a number of latent variables that need to be taken into account in order to distribute natural gas to Indonesian cities as efficiently as possible. The Structured Equation Technique (SEM)was the methodology employed in this investigation. In a more detailed explanation, the association between indicators and latent variables is examined using path analysis, which is derived from multivariate regression, in order to assess the validity of the multiple regression model. In keeping with the research methodology, data from indicators of city gas distribution companies during the period 2010-2020 were grouped and sorted by the Indonesian Central Statistics Agency. These indicators included income, the number of employees paid, the volume of city gas distributed, and operational costs. The purpose of this research is to produce information that can be used by the government and other stakeholders to accelerate the development of Indonesia's gas distribution business. This study's novelty or worth lies in its ability to shed light on the influence of latent variables that hold the status as moderating variables. Study limitations: Because non-disclosure primary data are not readily available and secondary data are scarce, it is assumed that the information from the Indonesian Central Statistics Agency is reliable and can be used to describe the explanatory variables of the city gas distribution industry in Indonesia.

Abstract Currently, operational weather forecasting systems use observations to optimize the initial state of a forecast without considering possible model deficiencies. For precipitation assimilation, this could be an issue since precipitation observations, unlike conventional data, do not directly provide information on the atmospheric state but are related to the state variables through parameterized moist physics with simplifying assumptions. Precipitation observation operators are comparatively less accurate than those for conventional data or observables in clear-sky regions, which can limit data usage not because of issues with observations, but with the model. The challenge lies in exploring new ways to make effective use of precipitation data in the presence of model errors. This study continues the investigation of variational algorithms for precipitation assimilation using column model physics as a weak constraint. The strategy is to develop techniques to make online estimation and correction of model errors to improve the precipitation observation operator during the assimilation cycle. Earlier studies have shown that variational continuous assimilation (VCA) of tropical rainfall using moisture tendency correction can improve Goddard Earth Observing System 3 (GEOS-3) global analyses and forecasts. Here results are presented from a 4-yr GEOS-3 reanalysis assimilating Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) Microwave Imager (TMI) and Special Sensor Microwave Imager (SSM/I) tropical rainfall using the VCA scheme. Comparisons with NCEP operational analysis and the 40-yr ECMWF Re-Analysis (ERA-40) show that the GEOS-3 reanalysis is significantly better at replicating the intensity and variability of tropical precipitation systems ranging from a few days to interannual time scales. As a further refinement of rainfall assimilation using the VCA scheme, a variational algorithm for assimilating TMI latent heating retrievals using semiempirical parameters in the model moist physics as control variables is described and initial test results are presented.

This study aims to examine the impact of demographic, poverty, fiscal policy, and investment on economic growth in 20 provinces. This study uses fixed effect techniques to estimate panel regression. The data used from 2008 to 2021 comes from the Central Bureau of Statistics and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia. The results of the study show that population, poverty, balanced funds, government spending, foreign capital influence on economic growth. The impact of government spending through education, health, agriculture, fisheries, and marine sectors has not been effective in encouraging regional economic growth. Other results from BPK's opinion on Regional Government Financial Reports have an impact on encouraging economic growth. These findings indicate that the government must take the necessary steps to reduce the impact of balance funds which in the short term impede economic growth, increase the effectiveness of government spending through targeting development spending and the use of the budget must be able to provide clear information, regarding the goals, objectives, results and benefits of the budget that are formulated using a performance approach that prioritizes the performance of work results from a predetermined budget or input allocation plan and continues the policy of providing opinions on Regional Government Financial Reports. If the BPK's opinion shows deviations, then it must be followed up immediately so that the regional economic development target can be achieved.

Evaluating an information system for success is key. Evaluating success factors of a Learning Management System (LMS) is essential in perspective of information systems success in a developing country context. eLearning is vital to educational system considering its benefits and impacts, particularly in accessing learning from remote areas, suitable for different learners’ categories, minimal resource utilization in terms of cost and time. Through the literature reviewed on eLearning and Information System, the desire to determine the variables that measure the success factors for information systems continues. Existing Information System (IS) success models do not sufficiently evaluate eLearning in developing country, Uganda inclusive as the current IS success models are generic in nature. This study aimed to describe a model of information system success tailored to eLearning system, Kampala International University as a case study, a Uganda’s context. To address the above objective, a field study was conducted, using questionnaire to determine factors for information systems success in Uganda, a sample size of 370 respondents were used from population size of 5500 using Sloven formula. The respondents comprise of 340 students, 27 lecturers and 4 administrators. The identified success factors are skills & training, infrastructure and management support. Data were cleaned and analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Scientists version 20.0 (SPSS). This study adopted Delone and Mclean’s Information System Success model (2016) and extended it using factors obtained from the field study survey. Analysis was performed to evaluate the model. Results of the study showed that all the independent variables management support, infrastructure, skills and training are positively related to the dependent variable of intention to and use of information system. There exists a strong relationship between the multiple independent variables and the dependent variable. All factors identified, has positive impact in explaining the variation in intention to use and use of the system with r coefficient of 0.343, 0.406 and 0.406 respectively. The results of the study presented a model of success factors for Learning Management System, eLearning specifically. For future research, this study recommends conducting qualitative studies to delve deeper into the nuanced perceptions and experiences of learners and teachers as well as looking into policies that can promote eLearning especially in developing countries.

The development of information systems continues to be a difficult process that frequently ends in failing to meet the projects goals. The processes involved in developing information systems are now compounded by the use of virtual teams. The goal of this study was to determine whether technical proficiencies, project skills in using database development software and technical skills in using the virtual environment, contributed to higher quality projects. The study attempted to address two hypotheses: 1) that increased proficiency in projects skills (Database Software skills) will contribute to greater project quality and 2) that increased proficiency within the virtual environment will contribute to greater project quality. Findings suggest that technical proficiencies in projects skills do contribute to greater project quality however the technical proficiency in the use of virtual environments does not. The relationship between proficiency in project skills and the quality of project outcomes is weak; suggesting that other variables not investigated in this study may exert a more powerful influence on project outcomes.

During the past twenty years, many educators have tried to incorporate technological progress and processes into the nation's schools. As the demand for computer science courses continues its phenomenal growth into the 1980s, the problems of identifying components of computer science aptitude and predicting academic success in computer science courses become increasingly important. This article is based on the critical analysis of the most recent research studies concerning the identification of components of computer science aptitude responsible for success in computer science courses. The analysis attempts to answer three questions: 1. Do certain cognitive styles have a bearing on performance in computer science courses?; 2. Do certain psychological types have bearing on performance in computer science courses?, and 3. Do certain background variables (sex, age, academic classification, prior computer experience, academic program, and high school and college grade point averages) have relevance for performance in computer science courses? Finally, implications for matching curriculum and instructional strategies with students' different cognitive styles, personality types, and background information are presented and suggestions for advisement and placement of prospective computer science students, and recommendations for further research in this area are made.

Every year, direct and indirect damage to farms caused by natural disasters continues to occur. In particular, damage caused by typhoons appears to cause great damage. This study aims to identify and analyze the relationship between weather factors and damage rate in the event of a typhoon by utilizing the weather information provided by the Korea Meteorological Administration and the damage caused by crop accident insurance. Since the damage rate is proportional data with values between 0 and 1, it is not suitable to utilize standard statistical techniques that assume that the error term follows a normal distribution and has a constant variance. Therefore the analysis is conducted through the binomial regression and the beta regression model. As a result the adjusted R square of the beta regression model was higher than that of the binary regression model. And the minimum air pressure, maximum wind speed, and maximum humidity variables were significant among the weather variables. Through this analysis of the damage rate, it is expected that damage to farms can be reduced by preparing appropriate countermeasures in the event of a typhoon.

Health insurance plays a crucial role in providing financial protection and ensuring access to necessary healthcare services. The awareness of Indonesian society regarding the importance of health insurance continues to grow, as evidenced by a 22% increase in premium income according to AAJI data as of March 2023. Despite the benefits of health insurance, an increasing number of insurance participants raises risks for insurance companies. The Generalized Additive Models (GAM) P-Spline can overcome these problems. The non-linear relationship between claim amount with age, body mass index, and blood pressure can be modelled with GAM P-Spline. The formed GAM model with PIRLS unable to give a clear information of relationship between variables explicitly, but can be seen by the shape of the function of each predictor associated with the link function used.

Background The internet is one of the most popular health information resources, and the Chinese constitute one-fifth of the online users worldwide. As internet penetration continues to rise, more details on the Chinese population seeking online health information need to be known based on the current literature. Objective This study aims to explore the sociodemographic differences in online health information seeking (OHIS), including the frequency of OHIS and the types of online health information sought among the general Chinese population in mainland China. Methods A cross-sectional study for assessing the residents’ health care needs with self-administered questionnaires was implemented in 4 counties and districts in China from July 2018 to August 2018. Pearson’s chi-square test was used to identify the sociodemographic differences between infrequent and frequent online health information seekers. We also performed binary logistic regression for the 4 types of online health information as the dependent variables and the sociodemographic factors as the independent variables. Results Compared with infrequent online health information seekers, frequent seekers were more likely to be female (infrequent: 1654/3318; 49.85%; frequent: 1015/1831, 55.43%), older (over 60 years old; infrequent: 454/3318, 13.68%; frequent: 282/1831, 15.40%), married (infrequent: 2649/3318, 79.84%; frequent: 1537/1831, 83.94%), and better educated (bachelor’s or above; infrequent: 834/3318, 25.14%; frequent: 566/1831, 30.91%). They were also more likely to earn a higher income (over RMB ¥50k [RMB ¥1=US $0.15641]; infrequent: 1139/3318, 34.33%; frequent: 710/1831, 34.78%), have commercial health insurance (infrequent: 628/3318, 18.93%; frequent: 470/1831, 25.67%), and have reported illness in the past 12 months (infrequent: 659/3318, 19.86%; frequent: 415/1831, 22.67%). Among the 4 health information types, health science popularization was the most searched for information by Chinese online health information seekers (3654/5149, 70.79%), followed by healthy behaviors (3567/5149, 69.28%), traditional Chinese medicine (1931/5149, 37.50%), and medical concerns (1703/5149, 33.07%). The binary logistic regression models showed that males were less likely to seek information on healthy behaviors (adjusted odds ratio [AOR] 0.69, 95% CI 0.61-0.78) and traditional Chinese medicine (AOR 0.64, 95% CI 0.57-0.73), and respondents who had at least 1 chronic disease were more likely to seek information on medical concerns (AOR 1.27, 95% CI 1.07-1.51) and traditional Chinese medicine (AOR 1.26, 95% CI 1.06-1.49). Conclusions Sociodemographic factors were associated with the frequency of OHIS and types of information sought among the general Chinese population. The results remind providers of online health information to consider the needs of specific population groups when tailoring and presenting health information to the target population.

This paper presents the results of research in the southern conurbation of Tamaulipas analyzing the types of internet browsing of some young Mexican students between the age of 15 and 29, to characterize the most significant variables in each type of navigation (such as sociodemographic and access), and contrast, in each one, digital skills, self-perceptions and experiences of using technology that describe each profile. The methodology used is quantitative, using a principal component analysis (PCA) that identified five types of navigation. Subsequently, a regression analysis was applied to present the variables that characterize each type of user. In the results, five types of navigation were identified: information search, collaborative, entertainment, communicative-playful and socializing, where the condition of access continues to be a crucial aspect. Although no differences were identified based on the age, educational level, or occupation of the young people, a strong gender component prevails. This work invites reflection on the importance of exploring and recognizing that not all young people navigate in the same way, and not with the same intensity or skills to face the new capacities that society demands to be functional and competitive in digital environments.

For the multiattribute group decision-making problem in an interval Pythagorean fuzzy environment, the existing experts and scholars have extended the weighted average (WA), ordered weighted average (OWA), generalized ordered weighted average (GOWA), weighted ordered weighted average (WOWA), and other operators to interval fuzzy environment, while the research on the application and promotion of interval Pythagorean fuzzy with generalized weighted ordered weighted average (GWOWA) operator has not been carried out, GWOWA operator not only retains the advantages of WOWA operator but also introduces artificial variables, which increases the ability of decision-makers to control the aggregation of fuzzy information. Therefore, the GWOWA operator model based on interval Pythagorean fuzzy sets is constructed. First, it is proved that interval Pythagorean fuzzy generalized weighted average operator (IVPFGWA) and interval Pythagorean fuzzy generalized ordered weighted average operator (IVPFGOWA) are special cases of IVPFGWOWA operator, and their idempotence, monotonicity, and boundedness are proved; second, a group decision-making method based on interval Pythagorean fuzzy GWOWA operator is presented. Finally, an example is given to illustrate the effectiveness and scientificity of this method. It is found that the interval Pythagorean fuzzy decision-making method of the GWOWA operator alleviates the loss of information in the decision-making process to a great extent. At the same time, with the increase in the value of artificial variables, the gap between the best scheme and other schemes continues to increase, making the decision-making results more obvious, scientific, and accurate.

As a developing country, Malaysia needs to develop a greater number of technology-savvy entrepreneurs to encounter the challenges of COVID19 and fourth industrial revolution (IR 4.0). However, the number of young technology-based entrepreneurs in Malaysia is still low. Moreover, not many studies have been done to identify the motivating factors of technology-based entrepreneurship. As such, this study was carried out to identify the influence of information and communication technology (ICT) self-efficacy on technopreneurial intention. A total of 152 students from a Malaysian public university was surveyed through self-administered questionnaire. Multiple regressions analysis was performed to test the hypotheses. The results revealed that three variables, namely Internet general ability, confidence in using computer and competency in using computer significantly influenced technopreneurial intention. Meanwhile, communicative ability did not have any significant relationship with technopreneurial intention. Generally, the findings supported previous studies that ICT self-efficacy played a role in determining an individual’s technopreneurial intention. Specifically, proficiency in computer skills and mastery of Internet general ability should be stressed. As technology-based entrepreneurship continues to play a crucial role in post-COVID19 era, it is important to develop more young and competitive technopreneurs. Thus, this study suggested that government should accentuate science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education; while education providers should continue to offer ICT courses to the students in order to bolster the development of technopreneurship in the country.

While the average percentage of women in national legislatures increased by nearly 20 percentage points from less than 5 percent in the early 1960s to 22 percent in 2014, it will still take 70–80 years for women to achieve parity in political representation, if women’s presence in elected office continues to grow at the current rate. In this article, I focus on one factor, income inequality, which potentially slows down women’s advancements in politics. I hypothesize that high-income inequalities, because they are not gender neutral, disproportionally disadvantage women’s political careers. I test this hypothesis with the help of a large-scale database, which includes information on women’s representation, income inequalities, and eight theoretically informed control variables for more than 140 countries from 1960 to 2014. Through latent growth models and Tobit models, I find that income inequalities slow down the growth rate in women’s representation.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) continues to ravage world economies, and with its recent mutations, countries worldwide are finding ways of ramping up their vaccination programmes. This cross-sectional design study, therefore, examined the predictors of COVID-19 stress and COVID-19 vaccination acceptance among adolescents in Ghana. A total of 817 participants were conveniently selected to respond to measures on fear of COVID-19, perceived stigma from COVID-19, self-stigma from COVID-19, believing COVID-19 information, COVID-19 infection prevention behaviours, COVID-19 stress, and COVID-19 vaccination acceptance. It was found that females believed COVID-19 information and accepted COVID-19 vaccination more than males did. Moreover, there were significant relationships between the majority of the COVID-19-related variables. Furthermore, fear of COVID-19, self-stigma from COVID-19, and COVID-19 infection prevention behaviours were found to be significant predictors of COVID-19 stress. Additionally, believing COVID-19 information, danger and contamination fears (a subscale of COVID-19 stress), and traumatic stress (a subscale of COVID-19 stress) were significant predictors of COVID-19 vaccination acceptance. These findings imply that different factors influence different COVID-19 variable. Therefore, careful considerations and research should be employed by health authorities and policymakers in preparing COVID-19 information to target different age groups and for different COVID-19 purposes.

Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) is one of the state universities in Indonesia which has 5 majors, one of them is the Department of Mathematics and Information Technology (JMTI). JMTI has six study programs, and only three study programs have graduates, namely Mathematics, Information Systems, and Informatics. Every year the number of new students continues to grow, but this is not proportional to the number of graduates, because some students study for more than 8 semesters. Because of this, the quality of study programs being poor. In this research, a model was built that could classify student study timeliness, using the naïve Bayes algorithm. The data used is data from JMTI student graduates from the 2013 to 2019 batch. The 2013 to 2018 batch data will be training data and validation data, while the 2019 batch data will be testing data. This research compare accuracy and F1-score naïve Bayes algorithm without correlation and with correlation. The best model obtained from training data is a model with variables that have gone through a correlation test, namely 70:30, 80:20, and 90:10. The attributes selected after the correlation test, namely, IP Tahap Bersama, GPA, Final GPA, Length of Study (Semester), dan Graduation GPA (Category), yield results for accuracy and an F1-score of 1.

Over two decades of research on hematite photoanodes have generated significant information on the electronic structure, photophysics and electron transfer mechanism for the oxygen evolution reaction. A surprisingly high degree of variability in photoelectrocatalytic performance continues across the literature despite these advances, however, suggesting missing information and uncontrolled variables. This encouraged us to pursue spectroscopic methods capable of identification, and possibly quantification of specific defects within the hematite lattice, and to map their presence to behaviors observed in photoelectrochemistry. We approach this issue by applying structure-property analysis to hematite samples treated under either O2 or N2 environments with variable performance in photoelectrocatalytic oxygen evolution. X-ray absorption fine-structure spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy can provide short-range coordination shells and longer-range order feature respectively to describe the structure of samples across the series. Different correlations between these structural parameters and photoelectrochemical performance reveal distinct defects for sample sets annealed in O2 or N2. These distortions can be observed by processed Raman spectrum data, suggesting that it may be possible to calibrate the width, energy, and intensity of peaks in Raman spectra to enable direct analysis of defects in hematite photoanodes.

The Covid-19 vaccination rate continues to increase, it is important to pay attention to the possibility of a breakthrough infection, which is a viral infection that occurs after a person has been vaccinated. This is a case that is expected to occur in some of those who have received the vaccine, as no vaccine for any disease is 100 percent effective. During the time of living in this period of the Covid-19 pandemic, people are always exposed to information about the dangers or threats of exposure to the virus, known as health risk messages. This study was conducted to explain how a number of individual characteristics in the health risk message information environment correlate to their attitudes towards the risk of exposing Covid-19. This online survey of people who have received the Covid-19 vaccine found that several variables related to lifestyle and disease history were correlated to perceptions of the risk of exposure to Covid-19. It also confirms that there is a positive correlation between awareness of the amount of risk an individual has and perceptions of the risk of exposing Covid-19.

Due to the global economic downturn, the Korean economy continues to slump. Hereupon the Bank of Korea implemented a monetary policy of cutting the base rate to actively respond to the economic slowdown and low prices. Economists have been trying to predict and analyze interest rate hikes and cuts. Therefore, in this study, a prediction model was estimated and evaluated using vector autoregressive model with time series data of long- and short-term interest rates. The data used for this purpose were call rate (1 day), loan interest rate, and Treasury rate (3 years) between January 2002 and December 2019, which were extracted monthly from the Bank of Korea database and used as variables, and a vector autoregressive (VAR) model was used as a research model. The stationarity test of variables was confirmed by the ADF-unit root test. Bidirectional linear dependency relationship between variables was confirmed by the Granger causality test. For the model identification, AICC, SBC, and HQC statistics, which were the minimum information criteria, were used. The significance of the parameters was confirmed through t-tests, and the fitness of the estimated prediction model was confirmed by the significance test of the cross-correlation matrix and the multivariate Portmanteau test. As a result of predicting call rate, loan interest rate, and Treasury rate using the prediction model presented in this study, it is predicted that interest rates will continue to drop.

Background. The urban area continues growing, and in most cases, the planning of green areas does not include in the species selection their physiological characteristics, which determine plant survival.Question/Hypothesis. Stomatal conductance (gS) is a key variable that provides information on how the environment affects a plant physiology. Therefore it is important to inquire how gS is affected in an urban site.Studied species/Data description. Data of environmental variables (photosynthetically active radiation, PAR; air temperature, TA; vapor pressure deficit, VPD), leaf water potential, ?; and gS were collected in four species Ficus retusa, Fraxinus uhdei, Ligustrum lucidum and Quercus rugosa.Study site and years of study. Two sites, in the center and in the rural area, were selected in Puebla, Mexico, during the wet and dry seasons (2012-2013).Methods. Environmental variables, gS and ? were measured with a diffusion porometer and a pressure bomb through the day every two hours in apparently healthy leaves. Also an experiment under greenhouse conditions was performed.Results. Maximum values of PAR, TA and VPD were registered in the city center in the dry season, whereas maximum gS and ? were found in the rural area in the wet season. ? and gS were significantly higher in F. retusa followed by F. uhdei, whereas the lower values were observed in L. lucidum and Q. rugosa. All variables affected gS for all species.Conclusions. The results demonstrate that it is possible to recommend Ficus retusa and Fraxinus uhdei as suitable species to ameliorate the urban environment.

Tropical forest continues to decline in Nepal’s lowlands, with a serious negative consequence for biodiversity conservation. Even a strict natural reserve is subjected to have some degree of human disturbances. The newly established Banke National Park of Nepal provides an excellent context to evaluate effects of human disturbances on the forest regeneration status. This article assesses the regeneration status of the park. A total of 1,067 plots were laid out within the park area. In each plot, three concentric rings of radii of 10 m, 5 m, and 1 m were established. Data of seedling/sapling and human disturbance variables were collected from each of the concentric plots. Principal component analysis (PCA) of all disturbance variables was carried out to generate a disturbance index. The findings of this study alienates with intermediate disturbance hypothesis. Cut wood, lopped tree, human/livestock trails, people number - are the significant variables for the impact of sapling and seedling density in the park. The induced human disturbances up to the limit avails the highest regeneration status in the park. These human disturbances might have induced the spatial heterogeneity and internal dynamics which help in the regeneration. The main challenge for the forest managers and scientists is to identify the indicators of environmental damage of forest and their threshold levels at which human disturbances will result in an irreversible decline of the vegetation and its regeneration.Banko Janakari, A Journal of Forestry Information for NepalVol. 25, No. 1Page: 39-49

<p><em>This article explores the level of support when a family member chooses to marry a person from a different racial group. It investigates the role that race of the spouse plays along with selected demographic variables with respect to influencing marriage support attitudes. The differential assimilation hypothesis is employed as the theoretical foundation for guiding the statistical analysis. Information from the General Social Survey conducted in 2012 is used in the analytical. The findings demonstrated that when individuals decide to marry outside of their racial group, the racial background of the spouse has a major impact on family member acceptance. It was found that potential spouses from darker-skinned racial groups received less support for the union from family members. This research effort clearly highlighted color-grading as a social phenomenon and demonstrated the importance American society continues to place race and its role in social stratification.</em><em></em></p>
