The widespread application of wireless communication technology brings great convenience to people, but security and privacy problems also arise. To assess and guarantee the security of wireless networks and user devices, discovering and identifying wireless devices become a foremost task. Currently, effective device identification is still a challenging issue, as device fingerprinting requires huge training datasets and is difficult to expand, and rule-based identification is not accurate and reliable enough. In this paper, we propose WND-Identifier, a universal and extensible framework for the identification of wireless devices, which can generate high-precision device labels (vendor, type, and product model) efficiently without user interaction. We first introduce the concept of device-info-related network protocols. WND-Identifier makes full use of the natural language features in such protocol messages and combines with the device description in the welcome page, thereby utilizing extraction rules to generate concrete device labels. Considering that the device information in the protocol messages may be incomplete or forged, we further take advantage of the application logic independence and stability of the device-info-related protocol, so as to build a multiprotocol text classification model, which maps the device to a known label. We conduct experiments in homes and public networks and present three application scenarios to verify the effectiveness of WND-Identifier.

Internet of Things(IOT) is the rising innovation without bounds is required to associate billions of devices. IoT is the future where many low power resources and constrained devices are connected by means of the internet for communication, compute process and take actions in the communication network. The increased number of communication is relied upon to produce heaps of information and the security of information can be a threat resulting a secure solution for communication is necessitates among heterogenous devices. Focus of the work is to provide confidentiality, authentication and integrity of data in transit between IoT edge devices and back-end systems. This paper proposes a lightweight hybrid encryption system using ECDH key exchange mechanism for generating keys and establishing connection, digital signature for authentication, thereafter AES algorithm for encryption and decryption of user data file. The proposed combination is referred to as “three way secured data encryption mechanism” which interpret all the 3 protection schemes of authentication, info security and verification with the characteristics of lower calculation cost and faster speed makes it robust for hackers to crack the security system, thereby protective data in transmission.

The emergence of the new digital platforms, a diversified number of approaches and providers cannot damage too much a rather crowded info sphere. What may come as a general challenge is the “performance” amateurs who have the devices, the will but not the skills to become reliable communicators. Good training and an expanded concern for the accuracy of messages should distinguish between fact and fiction and between information and opinion. The smart phone, the iPod, the lap top or the tablet have expanded the means of communication. They have also diversified the types of messages circulated. The traditional main stream media outlets are facing a mounting competition from the social networks populated with the folk journalists, albeit, non-professionals. Basic training of all those willing to come into the communication ring and regulations that may concern not only the professionals but also the amateurs, may be ways to get over what seems to be a deadlock.

IoT devices (sensors, drones, cameras) are gaining more and more emphasis on military operations. The application of IoT elements in the military environment increases situational awareness and supports the acquisition and maintenance of information superiority. The information they provide about the enemy, the area of operations, and the location and status of our soldiers and assets can contribute to the successful execution of operations at the tactical, operational and strategic levels. However, they can also pose serious threats if their vulnerabilities allow the data they collected to leak or they provide access to the info-communication networks used for the enemy. In this article, the author examined the vulnerabilities of these IoT devices using keyword analysis. After drawing conclusions from the analysis of the relevant literature, he compared the results with the general-purpose IoT threats and attacks typical of today, like distributed denial of service attacks, security, software, security and privacy issues.

Advances in the info and communication knowledge have led to the emergence of Internet of things (IoT). Internet of things (loT) is worthwhile to members, trade, and society seeing that it generates a broad range of services by interconnecting numerous devices and information objects. Throughout the interactions among the many ubiquitous things, security problems emerge as noteworthy, and it is significant to set up more suitable solution for security protection. Nonetheless, as loT devices have limited resource constraints to appoint strong protection mechanisms, they are vulnerable to sophisticated security attacks. For this reason, a sensible authentication mechanism that considers each useful resource constraints and safety is required. Our proposed scheme uses the standards of Elliptic Curve digital signature scheme and evaluates systematically the efficiency of our scheme and observes that our scheme with a smaller key size and lesser infrastructure performs on par with the prevailing schemes without compromising the security level.

Since the end of 1990s and facing up to numerous sanitary risks associated to food, schools became the favorite field of intervention to make children sensitive to so-called “proper”food. In France, diverse public authorities joined to develop and diffuse vast information and communication campaigns on a national scale. One purpose of these campaigns is educatingchildren in a set of standards, norms and values bound to what is seen today as healthy. This work is dedicated to understand what is at stake in this public communication as well as its progress through various authorities and various actors up to schools. It is built upon a semio pragmatic analysis of informative and pedagogical scheme produced between 2010 and 2015 by public authorities as well as observations and semi-directive interviews in schools. This work reveals two logics. On one hand, as messages about public health are translated into prescriptions, protocols and missions according to the various territorial and institutional scales, they demonstrate the will to instill normative models into children so that they learn to manage by themselves their conducts and those others. On the other hand, those prescriptions and devices are adapted, transformed and diverted from their first objective in every stage of their progress. At the origin of these transformations, the successive actors form a chain the last links of which are the children

This thesis examines the way in which public authorities communicate about the prevention of chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes and hypertension. Faced with the mixed results of prevention campaigns on chronic diseases in Côte d'Ivoire, our research examines the issues that information and communication must address. It appears that economic, political and socio-cultural issues affect prevention communication. We question the concept of "governmentality" developed by Michel Foucault in general and more specifically the notions of biopolitics, the instrumentation of public action and resistances in power relations in the context of chronic disease prevention. Our analysis is based on a heterogeneous corpus consisting of twelve (12) semi-directive interviews with institutional and community actors in prevention, a survey of three hundred and sixty-nine (369) patients in the oncology unit of the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Treichville and a content analysis of three (3) threads from an online discussion group on Facebook dedicated to traditional medicine. After the analysis, three major observations emerged. Preventive communication is subject to a pre-eminence of political logics. In fact, it constitutes an instrument of biopower that contributes to a certain extent to the deployment of the political strategy of those in power and thus helps to strengthen their legitimacy. However, the info-communication mechanisms of prevention have their shortcomings. These include their lack of connection with local realities, particularly with regard to certain socio-cultural factors, such as illiteracy, the positive relationship of Ivorian society with overweight and the use of traditional medicine by part of the population. Because of these shortcomings, the population develops forms of resistance to institutional prevention discourse through attitudes of denial, rejection and doubtful thinking

This research work aims at understanding the challenges of the implementation of digital tools and cooperative work in primary school’s through the establishment and analysis of an information-communication device where the mediation of knowledge through the digital technology occupies a primordial place. Based on elements from the theoretical framework on the concept of information, knowledge, knowledge and device, we analyze among the establishment of an information-communication device the interactions between knowledge, information and knowledge by mobilizing the concept of mediation. The communication exchanges and informational processes that take place in the device aim at observing the way in which subjects build knowledge from the scientific knowledge put at their disposal and manipulated in the form of circulating digital information. The Google Classroom platform that allows for communicative communication, access to information and information sharing regardless of when or where to access. The construction of knowledge in the device is done through cooperative work as a methodology of work which relies on the bases of constructive and socio-constructivist paradigms and the model of learning connectivism, since we introduce the ICST as mediating element between subjects, the teacher and the learning object. Given the nature of this research we have chosen a methodology that is part of the paradigm of interpretativism, which supports the idea that in the social sciences there is no separation between the observer and the observed object, and the knowledge can only take place through a process of understanding. Through this experience we seek to analyse the uses that actors make of digital tools and how they appropriate information circulating in the devices put in place to build knowledge

The purpose of this chapter is to propose a conceptual framework for implementation of advance info-communication technology and systems (ICT&S) across maritime cluster in emerging environments, with emphasis on some South-East European countries and South Africa. Smart implementation and adoption of the ICT&S in shipping and port management have been considered due to the Holtham’s & Courtney\'s model (2010). Furthermore, particular attention is given to Blockchain-based Maritime Supply Chain System (BMSCS) conceptual model, which includes distributed relational database, smart contracts, and crypto-currency payment mechanism as main constructs. The document workflow management, financial processes, and device connectivity are considered as key scenarios in the blockchain model. The stakeholders, who play the role of traditional intermediaries in the goods and accompanied documents and data flows, including overall supervision of the processes between end nodes, that is, shippers and customers, are encompassed within the BMSCS scheme. Some strengthens and frailty of BMSCS are highlighted, along with the suggestions for further investigation in this field, with the aim of better understanding prospective benefits and challenges of blockchain more extensive deployment across maritime sector in the future, with emphasize on developing environments.
