Texto completo da fonteObject: body image ideals in the media. Objective: to analyze body image ideals prevailing in different countries. Tasks: review theories, contributing to explanation of media‘s influence on one‘s eating behavior; analyze the moderators and mitigating factors of media‘s influence; review the historical development of body image ideals; analyze modern body image ideals prevailing in different societies; analyze body image ideals in the media; research body image ideals, prevailing in the Lithuanian TV series; compare body image ideals, prevailing in Lithuanian and foreign country’s TV series. Methods: analysis and generalization of related literature; quantitative content analysis of body image ideals portrayed in Lithuanian TV series; comparative analysis of body image ideals portrayed in Lithuanian and USA TV series. Having analyzed the wide scope of science literature, theories contributing to explanation of media’s influence on eating behavior were abstracted, and the conclusion that neither of them is capable of giving the complete explanation of the media’s influence on one’s eating behavior process was drawn. It is only explicit that media does influence our self-esteem and eating behavior as a result. Also, moderators capable of either mitigating or intensifying medias influence were pointed out, as well as mitigating factors, that can be used for reducing negative media influence on eating behavior. Review of the body image ideals throughout the history revealed... [to full text]

Under Korsmo økte Arkitektavdelingens internasjonale orientering kraftig.
Kapittel 5 behandler monumentalfaget BK IV gjennom 1960-tallet.

Texto completo da fonteIdeal and actual selves of boys from intact and divorced families comparison In the last few decades the number of divorce having risen up significantly, the consequences of divorce, especially on the development of a child, came to be analised widely. During this research the self-view aspects of boys from complete and divorced families have been analysed: Ideal-self and actual-self, the differences between them; the level of perfectionism and certain factors which can interact with the mentioned variables. We raised the purpose to check whether ideal-self, actual-self and the distinction between them does differ among the boys from complete and divorced groups. The level of perfectionism was also compared as well as the factors which according to the research results present in the literature could interact with the constructs of self-view. The research involved boys from 10 and 11 forms (age between 16 and 18), 40 boys among them living in complete families and 30 living only with their mothers and having experienced their parents’ divorce. The actual-self and the ideal-self have been measured by providing a list of pairs of characteristics (Methodology of adjectives) and asking the schoolchildren to evaluate how much the respective characteristics apply to them. The teenagers have also filled in the Survey of Perfectionism, aimed at determining the level of perfectionism, and the Pupil’s Survey, aimed at receiving more extensive knowledge on the respondents and later to... Texto completo da fonteThe study focuses on religious dynamics and cultic processes in the broader context of Roman-Latin Republican Colonization of Middle Adriatic Italy (current southern Romagna, Marche, northern Abruzzo regions; Regiones V and VI of the administrative partition of Augustan Italy). Relationships between either ‘Romanization’ and Religion are discussed, within the wider panorama of historical changes and cultural interactions enacted by Roman and Latin Republican Colonization of this part of Italian peninsula. The work moves from the rational systematization of a significant and heterogeneous data set and, through the critical and thematic re-examination of the whole dossier, attempts to define archaeological and historical features of Roman Religion within colonial milieu, with particular attention reserved to dynamics and processes of cultural interaction between Rome, Latium, and local frameworks in Republican period (3rd – 1st centuries BC).

Texto completo da fonteThe thesis analyzes various aspects of the theme of war in the literature of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the works of Simonas Daukantas, the historiographer at the beginning of the 19 century. The material used was taken from the Lithuanian Chronicles (the first half of the 15-16 centuries), five heroic poems of the beginning of 16-17 centuries, one polemic-publicistic text as well as poetry by famous Baroque poet Matthias Casimirus Sarbievius. The thesis investigates how authors from different periods and with different attitudes evaluate the same war event. Battle descriptions, distress and atrocities caused by war are analyzed, and the portrait of an ideal military leader is discussed. The Renaissance poets sought to depict war as realistically and artistically as possible. They described war as a natural disaster that brings trouble and misery. There is only one case when war is justified: defence of the State. The authors of the heroic poems were putting together an ideal of a military leader: when describing works of a real state official they highlighted only his characteristics that were valued during the Renaissance. M. C. Sarbievius often depicted war as a stage performance. He maintained that war was a challenge that revealed what a person was really worth; it was also a chance to gain immortal glory. The poet stressed the positive effects of war to society: during prolonged peace the strongest part of society slackened and became weaker (a motive of... [to full text]

In order to understand these processes and the ways in which architectural assemblies represent certain social values through space, this thesis explores and identifies various aspects of these relations as links between specific architectural and urban models and social circumstances in which they occur, it also define relationship between certain models of living and spatial configarations through their ideals and techniques of becoming. Understanding the relationships between different spatial levels, the type and nature of the transition between the public, private and collective, where transformations of urban block apperes as the main place of these relationships is also important part of this thesis.

Texto completo da fonteThe Möbius function of locally finite partially ordered sets is a classical tool in enumerative combinatorics. It is a generalization of the number-theoretic Möbius function and it has several applications in group theory, from the Euler characteristic of subgroup complexes to algebraic aspects of cellular automata. In the first part of the thesis, we recall some basic notions about the order structures which are related to the Möbius function, and we present its main properties, such as the Möbius inversion formula and Crapo's theorems. Moreover, we investigate some relevant connections with group-theoretical topics to motivate our interest in the Möbius function of finite linear groups. In the second part, we work on these groups to obtain information about their Möbius function, and our original results are useful to compute it if we know the structure of some special subspace lattices related to subgroups. We study in detail the case of distributive subspace lattices. Then we show an example of a subgroup in the general linear group, such that the subspace lattice associated to the subgroup is non-distributive. In this way, we see that our arguments can also be applied to different situations, under certain conditions. In the last part of the thesis, we connect the previously obtained results to an open question about finitely generated profinite groups and finite almost-simple groups, introducing an original approach to the problem. Although we do not completely answer to this last question, we get some useful partial results.

Texto completo da fonteThe purpose of the study is to discuss the existing theories and researches on the issues of romantic love and to explore the images of cultural models of romantic love among young people in Lithuanian context. In order to achieve this goal, the study aimed to: (1) discuss theories, which postulate the universality of romantic love; (2) analyze theories, which maintain historical and cultural value of romantic love; (3) discuss and give empirical ground to the theories, which examine sociological aspects of romantic love; (4) discuss the premises of the cultural patterns of romantic love; (5) combining different methods, to discuss what cultural images of romantic love dominate among young people in Lithuanian context. Research methods: the analysis of the academic literature and secondary data, the analysis of the quantitative and qualitative research data. The study analyses the existing theories of romantic love, in order to understand the polysemy of this concept. From an evolutionary perspective romantic love is part of more global mating and caretaking strategies. Feminism considers romantic love to be a repressive discourse, which imprisons women in traditional gender roles. In this study romantic love will be analyzed as a cultural model, according to the theory of cultural model offered by Prof. Victor de Munck. Theoretical analysis of social interpersonal relationships, exploring intimacy tendencies, serves as a context in which cultural models of romantic love... [to full text]

Main properties of prime and maximal ideals are stated and analyzed. Particularly, the following propositions are analyzed: In each ring there exists a maximal ideal. Each maximal ideal is a prime. If p is prime ideal of a ring A, then Ap is a local ring. Solved these problems: • If Z is ring of integers and p is a prime number, then pZ is the prime ideal. Also, pZ is a maximal ideal. • If S is multiplicative subset of a ring A and M is a finitely generated module over the ring A, then module localization =0 if and only if when there exists sM=0 with some s.

Texto completo da fonteThe master’s thesis presents thorough analysis of the problem of delimitation of forms of multiple offenses in the criminal law of Lithuania. The so called real and ideal coincidences of criminal acts are analyzed. The problem of multiple offenses prevails in many criminal cases however theoretical and practical variations on the estimation of such usually occur thus determining different judgments. The author presents the most relevant definitions of forms of multiple offenses in the theory of criminal law on the basis of analysis of concepts and attributes of real and ideal coincidence of criminal acts prevailing in Lithuanian criminal law in the historical context of regulations of the Criminal Code. On the basis of theoretical findings and consistent analysis of numerous criminal cases of different courts of Lithuania the author establishes unanimous ground for the most suitable definitions of the real and ideal coincidences of criminal acts. Such definitions that would enable law enforcement and courts in deciding cases properly are an important part of the thesis. The analysis leads to the strong opinion that after delimitation of multiple offenses from single criminal act, the next important step is to correctly determine the form of multiple offenses carried out. Various situations within court rulings are discussed with regard to proper qualification, as the establishment of the most suitable legal estimation. The first chapter of this thesis presents analysis of... [to full text]

Texto completo da fonteProblems of language, history and understanding have been approached in discussion between Gadamer and Habermas, in the context social sciences and tradition. The participants have philosophically analysed problems of particularity and historicity of understanding. Philosophical hermeneutics, as universal theory of human reason, and social critical theory, as a discipline which emancipate society from violence, contra positioned their positions on understanding limits and universality. This contraposition of main concepts of hermeneutical philosophy and social critical theory were highlighted in this research. There is a question of universality of human reason in epicentre of discussion between Gadamer and Habermas. Basis of the discussion consist of contraposition of six categories: three of Gadamer – dialogue, tradition and fusion of horizons and three of Habermas – communicative action, living world and ideal speech situation. 1. Universality of linguistic and historic understanding are the main questions of Gadamer philosophical hermeneutics. This universality is treated as dialectic of dialogue, tradition and fusion of horizon. Gadamer systematically inquired dependence of object and subject to the history and developed possibilities for universal, linguistically mediated, historical understanding. 2. Main question of Habermas epistemology is the question of universality of linguistic and historic principles. This problem is expressed in conceptions of communicative... [to full text]
