The purpose of this study was to investigate the validity of the Idaho Foundation Standards for School Administrators, an adaptation of the ISLLC standards, as the basis of Idaho administrator preparation. If the objective of creating standards is to prepare administrators to lead successful schools, then a preparation program based on the standards should result in principals who get higher achievement results, create responsible citizens, or otherwise produce successful students. Data from three sources, building administrators, superintendents, and administrative interns, were compared to the standards. Identified areas of need not addressed by the standards included counseling skills, training in change strategies, and the laws governing programs for special populations. This exploratory research into the validity of the Idaho Foundation Standards for School Administrators has resulted in the identification of some discrepancies between administrator preparation, the standards, and administrator practice. Results will be used in revising program curriculum to meet both administrators’ needs in the field and the new National Council for Accrediation of Teacher Education (NCATE) program accreditation guidelines.

The purpose of the study was to determine the training needs needed by teachers in making digital products to facilitate the learning process. Training is as a way for teachers to innovate digital competencies. The participants of this study were 10 elementary school teachers (F=6 and M=4). Participants are homeroom teachers from grades 1 to 6, and 4 were subject teachers (Mathematics, English, local content and sports). This study used the descriptive qualitative method. Observation, documents and interviews collected data. The data analysis process used the Miles and Huberman model through data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and triangulation. The results show that teachers need workshops that can directly practice making digital teaching tools such as learning videos and developing videos on the YouTube channel. However, they have difficulties with the technological devices they have. There are 30% of teachers who have full technology equipment, and the rest rely on smartphones for online teaching and learning. Thus, schools can consider providing technology tools that teachers can use in developing digital competencies and digital learning tools.

This text presents the main characteristics of mindfulness practice and seeks to draw a parallel among some aspects of didactics for early childhood education. Research suggests that mindfulness practice has had a positive impact on the adult population. While surveys on the use of mindfulness with children are scarce at present, this type of research is increasing among educators and psychologists targeting primary school level and beyond. In this article, we present the methods by which mindfulness practice can be applied in the teaching of nursery and pre-primary school children. In some instances, there is evidence that activities present in the Montessori Method can be borrowed and developed in accordance with the principles of the Mindfulness training. This article outlines how typical activities, such as sensory-motor practice, selective attention exercises and the exercises of practical life can be applied in the mindfulness training. Teacher training is another aspect to consider when applying mindfulness practice in the nursery school classroom.

The paper considers the reasons for the educational system reform in the late 1950s, which began with the adoption of the law Strengthening the connection of school with life and further development of the national educational system in the USSR. The main propositions of the secondary school reform included labor polytechnic schools establishments where students were supposed to get profession along with the study of general education subjects. The period of study at a secondary school was supposed to be three years (grades 9, 10, 11). Schools and industrial enterprises where industrial training was to take place were not ready to organize industrial training. Despite the extensive campaign, the perception of the reform in society was controversial. The reform did not achieve its main goal - schools could not carry out pre-professional education of students.

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the implementation of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), especially in the educational system, in which online learning can also be used as online training among school students. Interestingly, prior studies have highlighted trainers’ role as the most important factor affecting online training. However, prior studies that reported the effectiveness of online training among school students and the right trainers’ characteristics to sustain its effectiveness have been very limited. Therefore, the objective of this study was to determine online training effectiveness among 150 students in a Malaysian high school using pre-experimental research. Trainers’ characteristics perceived by participants were also determined and compared between classroom and online training. Findings indicated that online training was significantly effective regardless of gender and race differences; trainers’ characteristics explained 40.5% of variance in online training effectiveness. However, the school students preferred classroom training compared to online training; trainers’ characteristics were better in classroom training. Hence, it can be concluded that online training among school students can be effective; however, the characteristics of trainers can be improved to sustain the effectiveness of online training. These results have implications for the sustainability of effective 4IR in the educational system for the post-pandemic era.

The article examines the role of training in environmental protection management, industrial and fire safety, labor protection, including training in first aid skills. Currently, more and more attention is paid not only to environmental protection, but also to related HSE management issues. The relationship between environmental and occupational safety issues, including fire and industrial safety issues, is determined by the impact of the results of accidents and incidents on the environment. The whole complex of preventive measures aimed at minimizing the impact on the environment is simultaneously aimed at ensuring the safety of the employees, preserving their life and health. In the event that all measures for managing production processes could not ensure the safety of the employees, it is necessary to provide first aid, before medical aid is available. Training in first aid, occupational safety, and minimization of impact on the environment skills is important not only at the university as part of a training program or summer schools, but also in organizations to ensure the safety of the work carried out. In addition, teaching these issues is important from an early age - starting from kindergarten, school and earlier.

The Romanian national curriculum for primary education includes a number of school subjects that are taught by specialized teachers, e.g. foreign languages, physical education, religious education. Nevertheless, Music and movement represents a compulsory subject that requires advanced musical abilities and knowledge, yet the primary class teachers, who teach it, benefit from only short term initial training which we consider insufficient. The paper presents the results of a research into the opinions of the staff who teach. Music and movement in primary school as well as of those of experts regarding the improvement of this subject teaching. The study included two components: a qualitative analysis based on semistructured interviews with experts in sciences of education from pre-university and academic level (19 interviewees); and a quantitative analysis by means of an enquiry-based questionnaire among primary teachers from all over Romania (1.151 respondents). Data were collected between May 28th and June 26th 2021. The results show mainly positive views among the intereviewed sciences of education experts about the need to carry out training programs in music education for the primary school teachers. Also, 90% of the teaching staff who answered the questionnaire state that music education during pre-service teacher training should take at least two terms; more than 85% of the respondents state that, besides the school practicum that is ordinarily carried out, pre-service teachersshould also attend specialized practicum in the form of participation at concerts and art events in order to enrich their cultural experience. The present study aims to draw attention to possible solutions for pre-service teacher training so that music in primary school should have a stronger effect on young students’ education, on the future generation and on the future society overall. In this context, “neuroeducation” can offer evidence-based answers on cognitive transfer and attention activation, memory pathways and multisensory training (Curtis & Fallin, 2014). This vision gives music educators and teachers a new approach to music in the classroom, which is based on methods and means to stimulate the activity of both hemispheres of the brain; this could be achieved only through a high-standard musical training of future teachers.

This article uses OLS and 2SLS regression analysis to examine K-12 educators' perceptions of technology courses that were integrated in their program of study and the extent to which the courses influenced the educators' technology competencies and integration. A purposeful sample of 90 K-12 and 50 non-K-12 teachers in Idaho participated in the study. A survey was used in the collection of both quantitative and qualitative data. Findings indicate that though most teachers had taken technology courses during teacher training, they still lack transferrable technology pedagogical methods or skills. Both perception and technology integration were influenced by the teacher's age, experience, educational level, social network, type of school and location. 2SLS estimation demonstrated that perception was also a significant variable affecting technology integration. However, there was no evidence of the effect of class size and gender on either integration or perceptions implying that these two variables might not be important from a policy perspective. In-service teacher recommendations for teacher preparation programs are also discussed.

As a result of the fourth industrial revolution (4.0), school leaders need to consider if their existing abilities and competences satisfy future-fit leaders' requirements. This study evaluated the leadership development (LD) needs of school leaders in the 4.0 era. A survey design was used. Cluster sampling technique was adopted to randomly select a sample of 505 school management teams (SMT). The study found that school leaders require LD that will enable them to become proficient with technology applications, technology hardware, and emerging 4.0 technologies. Leaders must be trained in the use of cutting-edge 4.0 technology, applications, and technology. With regard to gender there was no significant difference in technological knowledge but LD needs in the areas of agility, information management, problem solving, communication and collaboration will benefit female leaders. This study contributes significantly to the basic school leadership development in Africa by addressing 4.0 training needs. This includes the understanding of school leaders' training needs, as well as the way in which gender influences training needs. It is recommended that the education department develop training programmes and implement mechanisms such as professional learning communities, mentoring and coaching to enhance school leadership competencies for the 4.0.

There is a paucity of research on the institutional organisation of distance education. This article stems from a larger project that explored the learning implications of distance secondary school teacher training in Malawi. Drawing on the industrial education theory, it focuses on the nature of institutional organisation of distance teacher training at Domasi College of Education and Mzuzu University. Data were collected by means of semi-structured in-depth interviews with two administrators and two instructors, as well as document analysis. This study revealed challenges relating to the one-size-fits-all approach to the institutional organisation of distance teacher training in terms of distance education systems; their functions and coordination; documentation of plans; and instructional material design. This points to a lack of lucid planning for open and distance education in Malawi. Based on the findings, recommendations are offered to improve the country’s distance education system. The project of organizing an advanced engineering school is described based on the analysis of the main entities that make up the structure of this project. It is emphasized that the position of an advanced school is ensured by the choice of a frontier task, and the engineering orientation is associated with production activities in the framework of the creation of innovative products. To achieve this goal, the school forms a symbiosis between an educational institution and a high-tech industrial enterprise. Finally, the main essence of the school involves the training of qualified personnel, and, consequently, educational activities. The innovative nature of the school is also linked to the selection of qualified personnel from the educational institution and experienced production workers from the industrial partner to provide mentoring. A feature of this technology is a reduction in the volume of training, with an increase in time for considera-tion of problem resolution procedures; the time of experimentation, analysis, comparison increases; the usual tasks for independent work are replaced by instructions to sort out the issues, while the time for the solution and the place are not specified in any way; classroom lessons are replaced by individual consultations; instead of general programs, individual and group plans are developed; traditional training is carried out by the very forms of organizing cooperation; the educational and developmental work of the teacher is replaced by his participation in solving common problems; internal regulations are adopted by the students themselves; discipline is ensured by the requirements of one's own and collective security and joint development; there are no groups in a general sense, but a community of like-minded peo-ple.

Workshop schools, art and industrial schools, vocational and technical schools, artillery schools, workshops of folk art, art schools, etc., were founded later at the end of the 19th – at the beginning of the 20th century. Those institutions, i. e., Poltava Pottery School-Workshop, Myrhorod Ceramic Technical School, Opishne Vocational Technical School - Opishne Factory «Artistic Ceramics,» Mezhehirsk Ceramic School-Workshop – Technological Institute of Ceramics and Glass, Kyiv Central Experimental Workshop of Folk Art at the State Museum of Ukrainian Art, Kyiv Art and Industrial Technical School, accumulated rich experience in training high-quality ceramic artists. It was found that in the 80s of the 20th century, the training of decorative and applied art specialists was started by culture colleges.

This article has two objectives: to analyse the implementation of dual vocational education and training (VET) in Spain and to study the school-to-work transition of young people who complete dual VET. The article draws on a study that was based on 43 interviews, a discussion group and document analysis. The results show that dual VET has been implemented through a school-based model, as opposed to the firm-based ‘German’ model. Participants may be employed on the basis of training contracts or internships. Whichever approach was taken, we found that young people who have completed dual VET enjoy a rapid school-to-work transition.

The pace of modern scientific and technological progress is such that all new types of activity are constantly introduce the everyday and industrial spheres of human life, for mastering which special training is needed. This is reflected in the discovery of new specialties in universities. Meanwhile, in order to receive special education at any level, it is first necessary to obtain a certain range of knowledge and skills of a general nature. The implementation of this function is carried out by a general education school, the main goal of which is through mastering the system of knowledge, skills and abilities laid down in the State Standard of General Secondary Education, to form and develop the personality of the student. Let us emphasize the fact that the means of personal development is the content of education. However, the modern secondary school follows the path of expanding curricula, when the names and programs of new disciplines appear, the amount of information in the old subjects increases, and the time allotted for their study, at best, remains the same, and at worst, decreases.
