In recent years, more and more women are appearing in major workplaces, taking up important positions, and women's self-identity is increasing. In China and the international community, there is a growing discussion about whether women should be housewives, and many people think that women should put the family first. The paper uses the Ordered Probit model to analyze the data from the China General Social Survey (CGSS). This research finds out that there is a significant correlation between educational attainment and women's recognition of being a housewife. The more educated people are, the less they agree that women should be housewives. This finding has important implications for social development. Combined with previous findings, women who receive high levels of education and work in the workplace are more likely to boost the educational attainment of the next generation. Therefore, promoting the development of education level is vital to encourage the development of the next generation and social progress.

By way of analyzing the health doctrine of Dr. Zhuang Shuqi 莊淑旂 (1920-2015), arguably the most popular author of traditional medicine in contemporary Taiwan, this paper discovers a surprisingly close alliance between gender role and traditional medicine, an alliance that she created on the basis of the allegedly traditional practice of viewing food as medicine. Instead of promoting the general idea that food has health benefits, Dr. Zhuang used her own personal tragedies to argue for the provocative idea that inappropriate intake of food is what causes people to fall victim to cancer. As each food functions like a double-edged sword, both the major cause of and a powerful tool for coping with cancer, preparing food in the kitchen, in her eyes, becomes comparable to handling effective and dangerous drugs in the “family pharmacy.” As the result, Dr. Zhuang urged housewives to identify themselves with the role of the “family pharmacist” and to take responsibility for the health of the whole Family.”

Depression and anxiety are two faces of a coin and we unfortunately fail to understand the plight of a person suffering from any one of these mental conditions. However, nowadays people have started considering mental health as a serious and complex issue, but still, those suffering from it tend to shy away and hide in arrears their own dark curtains. Sometimes, a very normal looking person may also be a victim of mental breakdown and anxiety. He may be working out fine, laughing, smiling, talking and all, but somewhere deep inside and within, he may be crying his heart out. It just does not visibly appear so on the outside. Moreover, in the phase of COVID, this situation has aggravated a lot because of various reasons like loss of jobs, work from home, salary reductions and cost cuttings etc. The effect of these problems fell on the families overall, but the most suffered category was – THE HOMEMAKERS, or in other words, THE HOUSEWIVES. Housewives have usually higher resilience when it comes to handling problems and family issues as they have an inbuilt capacity and trait to handle and adjust themselves in any atmosphere and ambience after marriage, but this COVID period was equally tough to handle for them as well. Specifically, if we talk about housewives, the entire COVID period was difficult for them to handle because of multiple reasons which will be mentioned point by point.

When I distributed questionnaires to fans through an ad in Backstreets, I received answers from more than fifty people, aged fifteen to fifty-seven, with widely varied educational levels and occupations, from all over the United States and Canada. While meeting and talking with specific fans, I have likewise encountered people with many different backgrounds and concerns—professors, insurance clerks, part-time cashiers, housewives, students, musicians, the unemployed, men and women, teenagers and golden-aged adults, citizens of many states and countries—most of whom have not met and probably never will.

During the 1970s, working-class writers entered the cultural landscape in ever greater numbers. ‘Ordinary’ people formed writing and publishing workshops in which they explored ideas, histories and feelings. A great variety of people started writing, including school children, housewives, black and minority groups, unemployed people, retired workers as well as those still in work. Writers of all ages were examining personal experience with fresh eyes and renegotiating their place in the world. Over the coming decades, thousands of publications would be produced, with an estimated readership in the millions. Autobiography, poetry, short stories and drama were consumed avidly by those within the writer’s immediate vicinity as well as by more general readerships. In 1976, the working-class writing and publishing groups, which were proliferating across the country, established a national network, the Federation of Worker Writers and Community Publishers (FWWCP or ‘the Fed’), that would later add the strapline ‘to make writing and publishing accessible to all’....

Abstract A particularly recalcitrant problem in the philosophy and science of mind has been the clarification of the nature and function of imagery. The debate has been particularly long-standing and heated both in psychology and philosophy. This may seem strange since mental imagery seems to be a fairly minor, and even remote, corner of the mind. Some people (e.g., John B. Watson) even claimed that they did not have any mental imagery, and that they did well without it! Galton (1883) argued that imagery was a primitive form of cognition, prevalent in children and housewives. Yet an overwhelming amount of empirical evidence seems to show that imagery is a remarkably effective mediator of cognitive performance, ranging from short-term memory to creativity.

Women entrepreneurs are those women who think of a business enterprise, initiate it, organize and combine factors of production, operate the enterprise and undertake risks and handle economic uncertainty involved in running it. The Planning Commission of India depicted that economic development of a country can only take place when women are brought in the mainstream of economic development. With the increase in industrialization, urbanization, liberalization, globalization, digitalization, social legislation, education and literacy, entrepreneurial awareness, and various empowering initiatives and schemes, the role of women are transforming drastically from housewives dealing with kitchen activities referred to as 3 Ps, viz., Pickles, Powder and Pappad into entrepreneurship in terms of 3 Es, viz., Engineering, Electronics and Energy. Indian women in the current era have made great strides relative to the past by overcoming several obstacles on their way. Even though Indian women are not on pace with their counterparts like the western countries, but still the ‘abla’ section is striving hard in establishing themselves in the male-dominated society. The status of women in India has been changing because of their active participation in all spheres of activities like, academic, administration, politics, space, and even industry. According to the Sixth Economic Census report (2016), women constitute around 14 % of the total entrepreneurship in India. By 2030, it is predicted that 150 – 170 million employments will be generated by 30 million plus women-owned enterprises and this might transform the economy’s future more promising than ever. Preparative immunological and serological studies for toxoplasmosis and toxocariasis were carried out. Antigenic and antibody immunoreagents based on proliferative forms of Toxoplasma gondii, excretory and secretory components of larval stages of Toxocara canis and specific immune sera were developed. When using the obtained diagnostic preparations, the blood serum of livestock and carnivorous animals and humans was examined for Toxoplasma and Toxocara antibodies and antigens using the immunochromatographic assay (IСA). IgG to Toxoplasma gondii in an ELISA were found in young men under 17 years of age. A study using the ICA express test of blood serum of housewives and students from the Northwest African countries revealed Toxoplasma antigens in 1.2 and 9.0%, respectively, and antibodies in 10.5 and 16.0%. The ICA in different age groups of people showed the highest level of Toxocara canis seropositivity among children, adolescents and young people aged from 9–12 to 17–20 years. Immunochromatographic assay belongs to the group of molecular biological methods and allows reliable detection, in the express test variant, of both pathogen antigens and antibodies. The ICA informativeness is 98% with high sensitivity. The above method in the express test variant makes it possible to seroepidemiological and seroepizootological monitoring for acute and latent toxoplasmosis, as well as for toxocariasis (larva migrans syndrome).

Moldovan cuisine is considered a chosen one considering many aspects of world cuisines. It is the result of synthesizing in time the tastes, ideas and gastronomic customs specifi c to our people. It is special due to the multitude of integrated values, mentioning in this respect the nutritional value, food safety, aesthetics, etc., including the cultural value focused on culinary customs and traditions, but also the attributed semantic ones. Th e value multitude is determined by the heritage marked by the interconnection of traditional gastronomic culture with that of other peoples, with whom our people have come into contact throughout historical evolution. Th e study carried out within the State Program 20.8009.0807.17 REVICULT, in order to revitalize the traditional gastronomy and the interaction with the housewives in the fi eld, allowed the capitalization of a traditional dish known as Chisalita, Chisăliţă a dessert from the sweet memories of childhood reminiscent of grandparents and the beautiful childhood, is prepared in summer from fresh fruits, and in winter from dried fruits. Previous studies show that Chisalita is over 1000 years-old, and meant sour. It is of great interest to prepare the Chiseliţa in diff erent areas of the Republic of Moldova. Th us, it was identifi ed the traditional technology of preparing Chisăliţa with sour cherries, thickened with pasat (ground millet seeds) (years ‘20—’50) in the northern area (v. Rudi, v. Sudarca, Plop, Donduseni district), Chisăliţa with corcodușe (wax cherries) thickened with stripes made of dough (v. Japca, v. Bursuc, v. Salcia, v. Sănătăuca, Floresti district ), in order to be more consistent and “satiating”. Aft er the ‘60s, Chisăliţa, according to the informants, becomes more diverse considering the ingredients used, It was made from diff erent fruits combined and slowly avoiding thickening with ingredients other than fruit, keeping the same viscous consistency, sometimes being sweetened with sugar. In this regard, we present Chisăliţa prepared in summer from apricots (Anenii Noi district) and in winter from dried apples and pears. Th e knowledge of the culinary heritage associated with this traditional dish allows the identifi cation of the traditions of yesteryear, the fi nding of their values, of the gastronomic diversity as elements of tourist attraction but also of the nutritious health of a people.

In 2021, the Thai government implemented the project on strengthening agricultural production groups to enhance their operational strength through providing them with required supports. This study aimed to evaluate if the project contributes to improving the groups’ strength, the group members’ income and the application of knowledge gained in their households. Logic model was applied as this evaluation’s conceptual framework and a Propensity Score Matching method was applied to analyse the project’s impact. Data were collected from the project participants (265 people) and non-participants (241 people) through a survey in 12 provinces in four regions of Thailand. The results revealed that 53.50% and 28.12% of the group members reported that their group was the strongest and very strong, respectively. This is because most members (86.27%) provide assistance to each other and most (86.22%) cooperate in carrying out the groups’ activities. Participating group members who received land allocation from the Agricultural Land Reform Office earned an average of 28,482 baht more per year than non-participating members. Participating farmer housewife group members earned an average of 12,638 baht more per year than non-participating members. Participating farm youth was 24.19% more likely to apply the knowledge gained in their household than non-participating youth. In conclusion, the project was effective and should therefore be continuously extended its results. Its bottom-up approach should be applied to other projects with similar characteristics. In addition, budgets from various sources should be integrated to provide different farmer groups with more opportunities to participate in the future projects.
