En 1962 el movimiento libertario español creó Defensa Interior, un organismo que empleó la violencia para intentar acabar tanto con la dictadura de Francisco Franco como con la vida del propio dictador. Esta organización cometió atentados terroristas en España y ciertos puntos de Europa entre 1962 y 1963, aunque sobre el papel su historia se prolongó hasta 1965. El saldo de sus bombas fue una persona muerta y 35 heridas. En este artículo se arroja luz sobre la vida de quienes sufrieron la violencia de Defensa Interior. Así, la biografía de su única víctima mortal nos sirve para ilustrar tanto su fracaso como las consecuencias de su estrategia.

En el marco del 2015 Año Internacional de la Luz, este trabajo presenta un repaso de hitos importantes en la historia de la ciencia de la luz cuyo aniversario se celebra también este año. En un estudio histórico bibliográfico que abarca un período de mil años, se documenta: 1) la labor sobre la óptica de Ibn Alhacén en 1015; 2) la noción del carácter ondulatorio de la luz propuesta por Fresnel en 1815; 3) la teoría electromagnética de propagación de la luz formulada por Maxwell en 1865; 4) la teoría de Einstein del efecto fotoeléctrico en 1905; 5) la incorporación de la luz en la cosmología mediante la relatividad general de Einstein en 1915; 6) el descubrimiento del fondo de microondas del cosmos por Penzias y Wilson en 1965; 7) los logros alcanzados por Kao en la transmisión de luz por fibras para la comunicación óptica, en 1965. Todos estos descubrimientos científicos se ponen en contexto para destacar, como lo señala la resolución de las Naciones Unidas, que la celebración del Año Internacional de la Luz ha sido una magnífica oportunidad para reconocer la importancia de la enseñanza de las ciencias en nuestro país.

Nació en Lima en 1928. Estudió en la Escuela de Ingenieros (actual Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería) y se graduó como arquitectoen 1952, y continuó estudios de Posgrado en la Universidad de Roma (1952-1953). Luego estudiaría Historia del Arte en laUniversidad de París La Sorbona y en la Universidad de Múnich de 1953 a 1955. En 1964, obtuvo el grado de magíster en Historiadel Arte de la Universidad de Harvard. Estudió Historia del Arte en Italia, Francia y España. Posee un grado de magíster en la mismadisciplina realizado en la Universidad de Harvard en 1964. En el ámbito internacional fue profesor en la Universidad de Yale sobrearquitectura latinoamericana del siglo XIX y en el Perú se desempeñó como profesor de la Universidad Nacional de Ingenieríaentre 1951 y 1991, de la Universidad Ricardo Palma entre 1997 y 2006, y actualmente es profesor de la UPC. El arquitecto GarcíaBryce ha ganado notables reconocimientos debido a su gran labor académica y profesional, como el premio Chavín al fomentode la cultura (1963); el premio Bolivariano (1965); el Hexágono de Oro en 1981, en virtud a la construcción de la Capilla San José(distrito de La Victoria-Lima); y el Cubo de Acero en la Bienal de Buenos Aires en 1986. En 1992 fue nombrado profesor beneméritopor la Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería. Ha participado en la célebre Junta Deliberante Metropolitana de Monumentos Históricos,Artísticos y Lugares Arqueológicos de Lima, así como en diversas restauraciones y comisiones de patrimonio arquitectónicollevados a cabo por el Colegio de Arquitectos del Perú y el Instituto Nacional de Cultura.

Rowe (1964) es, tal vez, quien sugirió antes que nadie —con un fino sentido del tiempo histórico— que el jesuita Acosta fue el escritor de Indias que establece primeramente una secuencia temporal en que diversas etapas de la evolución cultural se «suceden» unas a otras. La tipología presente en el proemio de su tratado misional (De Procuranda Indorum salute, 1588) se «historiza» solamente en su Historia de 1590, precisamente al toparse con las tradiciones mexicanas sobre su pasado por contraposición con los «chichimecas», que Acosta percibe como «paralelas» a las tradiciones incaicas sobre los «chunchos» de los Andes, Al año siguiente publicará Rowe una reflexión general sobre «los orígenes renacentistas de la antropología» (American Anthropologist, 1965): lo que importaba de esta disciplina era haber destruido el etnocentrismo cristiano a la hora de contemplar otras culturas, y eso por la admiración y traducción nueva de los humanistas italianos de los siglos xiv y xv hacia los textos y monunentos clásicos, producto de una cultura no cristiana. Yo encontré un filón interpretativo en estos dos artículos (1964, 1965) para construir un edificio antropológico al P. Acosta, afiliándolo a la corriente humanista más que confiando en sus datos etnográficos (la mayor parte prestados).

El artículo analiza la trayectoria de Alberto Iturbe como delegado del Comando Superior Peronista en Argentina (1962-1965). Con ese fin examina su vínculo con Juan D. Perón y su influencia en los procesos de institucionalización partidaria del movimiento derrocado en 1955. Desde el punto de vista historiográfico, el texto se inscribe en la corriente de estudios sobre el rol de las dirigencias y los organismos de intermediación del peronismo en el exilio, perspectiva que renovó las investigaciones sobre una etapa clave de la historia política argentina del siglo XX. Pretende aportar al conocimiento sobre las organizaciones partidarias del peronismo en esta etapa y reflexionar sobre la naturaleza y transformaciones de la delegación, en un contexto en el que la autoridad del ex presidente fue confrontada por múltiples actores.

Streszczenie
Wkrótce po zakończeniu działań wojennych (1945) utworzono w Okręgu Mazurskim pierwsze placówki oświatowe i rozpoczął się proces edukacyjno-wychowawczy. Po przekształceniu okręgu w województwo olsztyńskie przybył na Warmię ppor. Zenon Rydziński i jako oficer-zapaśnik propagował na modnych wówczas festynach i zawodach pokazowych walory uprawianej niegdyś dyscypliny sportowej. Po utworzeniu w Olsztynie Okręgowego Związku Zapaśniczego szkolenie prowadzono także w powstających spontanicznie klubach i sekcjach Ludowych Zespołów Sportowych. Wspomniane stowarzyszenia szczególnie cenną rolę odgrywały w środowiskach wiejskich. Po zgłębieniu podstaw nawiązano współpracę z Obwodem Kaliningradzkim. Wzajemna wymiana doświadczeń skutkowała wzrostem poziomu wyszkolenia sportowego, budowaniu zrębów przyjaźni między obu społecznościami, a wyjazdy zagraniczne stwarzały możliwość bliższego poznania regionów i kultury mieszkającej tam ludności. Ekipy wyjeżdżające za granicę tworzono z najlepszych zawodników, a powołanie w skład drużyny było dla zapaśników jednocześnie wyróżnieniem i nagrodą. W wymianie sportowej uczestniczyła także młodzież uprawiająca sport w szkolnych sekcjach. W treningach brali udział również młodzi Romowie i Ukraińcy i był to wzorcowy przykład integracji społecznej. Wzrastający poziom wyszkolenia skutkował uczestnictwem w turniejach ogólnopolskich, mistrzostwach Polski, a w roku 1978 rozegrano nawet mecz z przebywającą w Polsce drużyną stanu Colorado (USA).

En el presente estudio se analizan las fuentes de la versión de la “Historia del califa cigüeña”, incluida en la narración Feral y las cigüeñas (1971), de Fernando Alonso. Para ello se tienen en cuenta el cuento original del autor postromántico alemán Wilhelm Hauff (“Die Geschichte von Kalif Storch”, 1825), y la adaptación de este cuento que Sara Cone Bryant realizó para su libro How to tell stories to children (1905, traducción española: El arte de contar cuentos, 1965).

El libro La Iglesia en el Perú de Jeffrey Klaiber S. J. es una obra de consulta necesaria para el estudio de la historia de la Iglesia católica en el Perú republicano. Como homenaje a Jeffrey Klaiber, los autores analizan las bases eclesiológicas de la narrativa histórica de este libro y resaltan la influencia del proceso de recepción del Concilio Vaticano II (1962-1965) mediado por las Conferencias Generales del Episcopado Latinoamericano de Medellín (1968) y Puebla (1979). El artículo aplica este análisis a la división temporal de la obra de Klaiber, que distingue entre el siglo XIX, la primera mitad del siglo XX y la recepción conciliar entre 1955 y 1985. Se relevan los aportes de la obra de Klaiber, las limitaciones y las perspectivas que abrió para la investigación posterior sobre el catolicismo peruano.

[ES] Esta tesis doctoral supone un estudio descriptivo y analítico sobre la obra gráfica del pintor alicantino Eusebio Sempere Juan (onil, 1923-1985) a partir de dos objetivos básicos: la investigación, grabados, litografías y, esencialmente, serigrafías; y el esclarecimiento de las particulares relaciones que se establecen entre su desarrollo y la trayectoria biográfica y artística de Sempere, prestando especial atención a dos momentos clave: el aprendizaje de la técnica serigráfica junto al cubano Wifredo Arcay, en París, hacia 1995, y la relación de Sempere conAbel Martín y su papel como introductores de la serigrafía artística en España en la década de los sesenta. Así, enmarcándola en el conjunto de su producción artística y en relación con el contexto en el que surge, recorremos sus años de formación y los grabados realizados en la Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes de San carlos de Valñencia y, seguidamente, los diez años que reside en París; continuamos, tras su regreso a España en 1960, con la edición de las primeras carpetas y series originales, discurriendo por lo que hemos considerado sus periodos de afianzamiento y consolidación para desembocar en las últimas carpetas, realizadas a finales de los setenta y en la primera mitad de la década de los ochenta. Se contemplan además los ejemplares sueltos conocidos y la carpeta editada con carácter póstumo en 1988. Por último, ofrecemos una cronología en la que quedan consignados los hecmos más importantes al respecto junto con las exposiciones en las que su obra ha estado presente hasta la actualidad, y completamos la bibliografía y hemerografía sobre Sempere.Forriols González, RJ. This study aims to discuss the historical relationships between electric energy and some technical objects, in Fortaleza (capital of Ceara state) from 1945 to 1965. During this period the population experienced serious troubles with the supply of light and power, which made difficult the major integration of electricity in the daily life and had unfavorable impact on local economy. With the fast demographic growth and the spread of demand, the electrical system underwent successive rationings, breakdowns, overloads and campaigns for the reduction in private consumption levels. The solution, by means of the city connection with Paulo Afonso plant in 1965, accessed a more regular and cheaper energy supply, although it was far from assuring the poor a better reach to this benefit. This context of growing application of electric current and social inequality entailed the making of ambivalent meanings in household comfort, which in the postwar was more and more related to the acquisition and usage of electric appliances. Through the investigation of these objects it was possible to apprehend certain changes in the inhabitants perception, as well as the emergence of visual and sound elements which expressed their presence in urban daily life and their role in the dissolution of boundaries between public and private. In the course of the research it was also observed the importance of technological shifts for the production of practices and values related to the household modernization
Este trabalho pretende discutir as relações historicamente constituídas entre a energia elétrica e certos objetos técnicos, na cidade de Fortaleza entre 1945 e 1965. Nesse período a população experimentou graves problemas no fornecimento de força e luz, que dificultaram a maior integração da eletricidade na vida cotidiana e repercutiram desfavoravelmente no perfil da economia local. Com o crescimento demográfico acelerado e a expansão da demanda, o sistema elétrico passou por sucessivos racionamentos, panes, sobrecargas e campanhas destinadas à redução nos índices de consumo particular. A solução encontrada, por meio da ligação da cidade com a usina de Paulo Afonso em 1965, permitiu o acesso a um suprimento de energia mais regular e barato, mas esteve longe de propiciar o correspondente alargamento desse benefício às camadas pobres. Esse contexto marcado pela crescente aplicação da corrente elétrica e por fortes desigualdades sociais implicou a formação de significados ambíguos do conforto doméstico, que no pós-guerra se mostrou cada vez mais associado à aquisição e uso de aparelhos elétricos. A partir da investigação desses objetos foi possível apreender certas transformações na percepção dos habitantes, assim como a emergência de elementos visuais e sonoros que expressaram sua presença no cotidiano da cidade e seu papel na contínua diluição das fronteiras entre o público e o privado. No decorrer da pesquisa se pôde ainda observar a importância da mudança tecnológica na produção de práticas e valores relacionados à modernização do espaço doméstico

By noticing the very few researches in programs in Graduate History having as the main object the textbook of history, this dissertation investigates the collection of textbooks for Brazilian secondary education New History of Brazil - published in March 1964 by the Campaign Student Assistance (CASES). The collectionwas conceived within at the National University of Philosophy of Brazil (FNFI), peculiarly by the students responsible for publishing the Bulletin of History (BH) under the guidance of Nelson Werneck Sodré and directly involved the activities of the Institute for Brazilian Studies (ISEB). The book criticized the traditional historiography presented in textbook used in Brazil and aimed an innovation int he context thereof. Extolled the need for social reforms - mainly educational ones - framing up on the political prospect that the country was experiencing during the Goulart government, had a political dimension and was the object of struggle. With the establishment of the military regime, the voluems were burnt and New History banned and their authors targets of persecution.
Diante da constatação de pouquíssimas pesquisas em programas de Pós-graduação em História que apresentem como objetivo principal o livro didático de História, este trabalho investiga a coleção de livros didáticos destinados ao ensino secundário brasileiro História Nova do Brasil - publicada em março de 1964 pela Campanha de Assistência ao Estudante (CASES). A coleção foi concebida no seio acadêmico da Universidade Nacional de Filosofia do Brasil (FNFI), peculiarmente pelos alunos responsáveis pela edição do Boletim de História (BH) sob a orientação de Nelson Werneck Sodré, e envolveu diretamente as atividades do Instituto Superior de Estudos Brasileiros (ISEB). A obra criticava a historiografia tradicional apresentada nos manuais escolares utilizados no Brasil e objetivava uma inovação no seu conteúdo. Exaltava a necessidade de reformas sociais - principalmente educacional - enquadrando-se no prospecto político que o País vivenciava durante o governo João Goulart; possuía uma dimensão política e foi objeto de luta. com a instauração do regime militar, os volumes da História Nova foram queimados e proibidos e seus autores alvos de perseguição.

RÉSUMÉ: Au debut du XXème siècle, l’Eglise Catholique, structurée par catégories de hiérarchie et de pouvoir, tenai que les prérogatives papales du primauté et de Pinfalibilité lui accordaient unte auctorité globale: sur n’importe qui et n’importe quoi. Elle étendai aussi sa domination romaine - et d’une façon toute spéciale - sur la vie religieuse féminine qui par sa détermination suivait les normes d’une vie plus ou moins standardisée, codifiée par le Droit Canonique Les religieuses, éccartées du monde pour ateindre plus aisement “l’état de perfection”, menaient une vie selon les modèles prescritifs, en général façonnés pour des hommes et toujours par eux sanctionnés A cette même époque, naît à Rodeio, Santa Catarina, un group religieux de femmes qui, pour repondre à un besoin de la réalité locale, s’inscrit à l’intérieur de la paroisse, au milieu rural, où elles se dédient aux services de l’Education et de la Cathéchèse. Nommées par Mons. Joaquim Domingues de Oliveira, en ce temps évêque de Florianópolis, “Catéchistes” et l’ensemble, “Compagnie des Catéchistes”, elles fuyient le schéma quasi milenaire et sans couvent, sans clôture ni voeux et aux debuts sans habit religieux, inaugurent un modèle alternatif de vie consacrée. Le quotidien des Catéchistes, dans le processus du cheminement, même après avoir adopté des marques de la vie reiligieuse traditionnelle, antécipe dans sa façon d’être et de faire, des propositions et des expressions que le Concile Vatican II viendra faire à l’Eglise et à la vie religieuse.
No início do século XX, a Igreja Católica estruturada em categorias de hierarquia e poder, entendia que as prerrogativas papais do primado e da infalibilidade lhe concediam autoridade sobre todos e tudo. Estendia sua dominação romana também, e muito especialmente, sobre a vida religiosa feminina que por sua determinação seguia normas de um viver mais ou menos padronizado, codificado pelo Direito Canônico. As religiosas, separadas do mundo para mais facilmente alcançarem o ‘estado de perfeição’, levavam vida de acordo com os modelos prescritivos, quase sempre elaborados por homens e sempre sancionados por eles. Nessa mesma época, nasce em Rodeio, Santa Catarina, um grupo religioso de mulheres que, para responder a uma carência da realidade local, insere-se no interior da paróquia, no meio rural, onde atendem ao serviço da educação e catequese. Chamadas por Dom Joaquim Domingues de Oliveira, então bispo de Florianópolis, de “Catequistas” e ao grupo de “Companhia das Catequistas”, fogem ao esquema quase milenar e sem convento, sem clausura, sem votos e nos primeiros tempos sem hábito, inauguram um modelo alternativo de vida consagrada. O cotidiano das Catequistas, no processo da caminhada, mesmo depois de assumir marcas da vida religiosa tradicional, antecipa no seu modo de ser e de fazer, propostas e expressões que o Concílio Vaticano II, vem fazer à Igreja e à vida religiosa.

A escrita da moderna arqueologia da Amazônia está relacionada ao trabalho dos norte-americanos Betty Meggers (1921-) e Clifford Evans (1920-1981). A relevância histórica das pesquisas efetuadas pelo casal e especialmente por Meggers é o foco desta dissertação. O objetivo é apresentar uma história social e intelectual da arqueologia amazônica tomando como foco central a atividade de Betty Meggers na Amazônia brasileira com a finalidade de compreender o processo de produção, circulação, recepção e debates em torno das hipóteses sobre a ocupação da Amazônia, e suas influências contemporâneas no campo da arqueologia amazônica. E, desse modo, analisar a inserção histórica que o casal alcançou no campo científico sobre a Amazônia.
The modern written of the Amazonian archaeology is related to the researches of north-american Betty Meggers (1921-) and Clifford Evans (1920-1981). The historical relevance of the research effected by the couple and especially for Meggers is the focus of this dissertation. The objective is to present a social and intellectual history of Amazonian archaeology being taken as central focus the a focus the activity of Betty Meggers in the Amazon rain forest with the purpose to understand the process of production, circulation, reception and discussion around the hypotheses about the occupation of the Amazon, and theirs influences contemporaries in the field of Amazonian archaeology. And, in this way, to analyze the historical insertion that the couple reached in the scientific field about the Amazon.

The Swedish model was constructed on the idea of corporatism. In the welfare state that the social democratic government where building, the sport movement played a considerable part. Through sport the citizens, in their leisure, where fostered for their role as good, productive members of the community. This was achieved by teaching them democracy, giving them the right spirit of solidarity and keeping them mentally and physically healthy. Attributes that were determined to social benefit the community. For doing so the government gave financial contribution to the sport movement. By investigating the municipality’s official records and those of the big local athletic club, more specifics about this relationship appeared. This could be connected to thesis about social capital. It becomes clear how high the running authorities treasured the local sport movement, and in which way this was manifested by the especial contribution, above the general contribution. In doing so missing facts in research were filled out.I det välfärdssamhälle som den socialdemokratiska regeringen byggde, spelade idrottsrörelsen en betydande roll. Genom idrotts- och föreningslivet skulle medborgarna på sin fritid, fostras i rollen som goda, produktiva medlemmar av samhället. Det skulle uppnås genom att lära dem demokrati, ge dem rätt känsla av solidaritet och hålla de mentalt och fysiskt friska. Attribut som ansågs vara samhällsnyttiga. Genom att göra det gav de styrande ekonomiska bidrag till idrottsrörelsen. Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka hur förhållandet mellan Östersunds kommun och idrottsföreningen IFK Östersund såg ut under åren 1965–1978. Syftet ska uppfyllas genom att svara på hur, och med vilka argument, som Östersunds kommun stöttade IFK Östersund ekonomiskt. Källmaterialet hämtades ur Östersunds kommuns arkiv samt föreningsarkivet i Jämtlands län. Med en kvalitativ metod undersöktes materialet, där ord och formuleringar som kunde knytas till IFK Östersunds ekonomi tolkades. Genom att undersöka den kommunala fritidsnämndens styrelseprotokoll och protokollen från den stora lokala idrottsföreningen, framträdde fler detaljer rörande de båda aktörernas förhållande. Resultatet av undersökningen visar att kommunens ekonomiska stöd var vitalt för att idrottsföreningen överhuvudtaget kunde fortsätta med sin verksamhet. Den samhällsnytta som idrottsföreningen bidrog med ansåg kommunen motivera det ekonomiska stödet. Idrottsföreningars samhällsnytta kopplas till teorier om socialt kapital. Det blir uppenbart hur högt kommunen värderade den lokala idrottsrörelsen och varför det ekonomiska stödet delades ut samt hur det stödet såg ut. Speciellt i form av de extra ekonomiska bidragen utöver de generella bidragen. Föreningslivet som idrottsrörelsen består av, i den här uppsatsen exemplifierad i IFK Östersund, är en stark bidragande orsak till ett demokratiskt fungerande samhälle där tillit mellan medborgarna råder enligt Robert D. Putnams teori om socialt kapital. Det är i ljuset av denna teorin som Östersunds kommuns agerande ska förstås i.

Arquitectura y Planeamiento y el Instituto de Planeamiento Regional y Urbano del Litoral, ambos en el marco de
la Escuela de Arquitectura y Planeamiento de la Universidad Nacional del Litoral con sede en Rosario, entre los

relativo a la organización institucional, modelos de referencia y actores y redes académicas intervinientes,
situación que permite identificar las condicionantes del proceso de transformación de la disciplina urbana, en un

Unidos, la acción de organismos supranacionales y fundaciones privadas, que desde diferentes perspectivas,

Rosario, in the period 1957-1965. This approach allows to establish break-ups and continuities of these two
institutes as regards to the institutional organization; reference models; actors and academic networks involved,
which allows to identify determining conditions in the transformation of urban discipline in a particular period of
national and Latin American political history, marked by relationships with the United States, the action of
supranational organizations and private foundations which, from different perspectives, redefine the models and
research issues at local level.

As recent as 1955, cathedrals were still unbuilt or incomplete in the young and developing dioceses of the Global South, including in Queensland, the Northern Territory and New Guinea. The lack of an adequate cathedral was considered a “reproach” over a diocese. To rectify this, the region’s Bishops sought out the best architects for the task – as earlier Bishops had before them – engaging architects trained abroad and interstate, and with connections to Australia’s renown ecclesiastical architects. They also progressed these projects remarkably fast, for cathedral building. Four significant cathedral projects were realised in Queensland during the 1960s: the completion of St James’ Church of England, Townsville (1956-60); the extension of All Souls’ Quetta Memorial Church of England, Thursday Island (1964-5); stage II of St John’s Church of England, Brisbane (1953-68); and the new St Monica’s Catholic, Cairns (1965-8). During this same era Queensland-based architects also designed new Catholic cathedrals for Darwin (1955-62) and Port Moresby (1967-69). Compared to most cathedrals elsewhere they are small, but for their communities these were sizable undertakings, representing the “successful” establishment of these dioceses and even the making of their city. However, these cathedral projects had their challenges. Redesigning, redocumenting and retendering was common as each project questioned how to adopt (or not) emergent ideas for modern cathedral design. Mid-1960s this questioning became divisive as the extension of Brisbane’s St John’s recommenced. Antagonists and the client employed theatrics and polemic words to incite national debate. However, since then these post-war cathedral projects have received limited attention within architectural historiography, even those where the first stage has been recognised. Based on interviews, archival research and fieldwork, this paper discusses these little-known post-war cathedrals projects – examining how regional tensions over tradition and modern ideas arose and played out.

Despite today's extensive remote sensing imagery with all kinds of sensors, the use of old aerial imagery is still importantin the study of slowly evolving land processes to reconstruct past landscape forms. Numerous organisations sharephotogrammetric data in public repositories, offering opportunities to exploit them to identify historical, natural andanthropogenic topographic changes, which is particularly interesting if they are difficult to access areas, possibly affectedsince historic times by climate change and other geodynamic processes. This work proposes and applies a workflow basedon the SfM-MVS photogrammetric technique to 22 and 33 historical aerial photographs of the English FIDASE (1956/57)and Argentinean Navy (1968) flights, scanned at 1016dpi and 96dpi, black and white, of Deception Island (South Shetland,Antarctica). The photogrammetric processing controls the threshold values of the reconstruction uncertainties andprojection accuracy. The 3D point clouds obtained are geroreferenced with 37 ground control points (GCP) geographicallypositioned in a QuickBird2 satellite image over island areas not affected by volcanism. The quality of the DTM is controlledby comparison with the 1960 topographic map 1:25000 of the island, which allows the volumes of material emitted in thevolcanic eruption of 1967 to be evaluated. The results obtained improve considerably and extend the set of resultscompared to those obtained by classical contour line digitizing. The applied method, the DTM and orthomosaic of 1956and 1968 presented will allow us to evaluate, together with the analysis applied to later historical flights, English 1979 andChilean 1986, the recent changes produced by the recent volcanism, the local external geodynamics, the possible climaticdeterioration and the scope of current human activity from 1956 to the present day.

The paper examines the reorientations of the appreciation of ugliness within different national contexts in a comparative or relational frame, juxtaposing the British, Italian, and Australian milieus, and to relate them to the ways in which the transformation of the urban fabric and the effect of suburbanization were perceived in the aforementioned national contexts. Special attention is paid to the production and dissemination of the ways the city’s uglification was conceptualized between the 1950s and 1970s. Pivotal for the issues that this paper addresses are Ian Nairn’s Outrage: On the Disfigurement of Town and Countryside (1956) Robin Boyd’s Australian Ugliness (1960), and the way the phenomenon of urban expansion is treated in these books in comparison with other books from the four national contexts under study, such as Ludovico Quaroni’s La torre di Babele (1967) and Reyner Banham’s The New Brutalism: Ethic Or Aesthetic? (1966).

Abstract Reclaiming public space at Oakland's Arroyo Public Park, a nexus of crime and illegal activities. A coalition of neighbors invited local performing artists to help animate city agencies, inspire repair of the amphitheater and create daytime performances in the summer, mostly by children. Slobodan taught the History of Art and Ideas, Design and Art Studio from 1969 through 1985 at various institutions in London, including North-East London Polytechnic, Thames Polytechnic and Richmond College-American University in London. Between 1986 to1992, he taught at the University of California at Berkeley. With a number of scholars, artists, and community leaders, he founded the Artship Foundation in 1992, and has been its Executive Director ever since. He also served as a board member of the Society of Founders of the International Peace University in Berlin/Vienna from 1996 to 2002, where he lectured annually and chaired its Committee on Arts and Culture. community@artship.org

Floyd Carlson was a true pioneer and major contributor in the early development and testing of a broad-range of cutting-edge vertical flight aircraft. His contributions are numerous. Starting with the birth of Bell Helicopter in Gardenville, New York (1942-1945), he performed the first flight of every helicopter Bell designed and built until 1960. His biography mirrors the early history of Bell Helicopter. During this time, Carlson became one of the most experienced and renowned helicopter test pilots in the world, testing aircraft which included the Model 30 (1942); Model 47 (1945); HSL-1 Tandem Rotor Helicopter (1953); XV-3 (1955), forerunner of the XV-15 and V-22 Osprey tiltrotors; and XH-40 (1956), prototype of the iconic UH-1 “Huey.” Floyd Carlson’s passion for aviation began with the guidance of his older brother Milton, whose tragic accident and death left an enduring impact on Floyd’s life as he continued to develop and master the techniques of vertical flight.

For the first time in workplace history, there are five generations are in the workplace simultaneously: the Traditionalists (born between 1925 and 1945), the Baby Boomers (born between 1946 and 1964), Generation X (born between 1965 and 1980), Generation Y (born between 1981 and 1994), and the Millennials (born after 1995). Accommodating the unique learning and development needs of such a diverse spectrum of learners in the organizational enterprise have provided significant procedural and cultural roadblocks for facilitating efficient learning content delivery and personalization. A potential strategy in assessing this complex challenge is implementing a set of flexible assessment options that allow individuals to choose evaluation options and evidence types that best suit their individuality within a framework that is focused on supporting accepted common generational traits. For example, Baby Boomers have excellent team work skills and thrive on adrenaline-charged assignments while Millennials are more technologically dependent and are often more worried about the perception of success rather than actual achievement. Such an approach provides learning and development professionals a repeatable and highly customizable strategy for meeting the broad spectrum of requirements and support for a highly heterogeneous audience. This paper will examine how such a framework can be utilized to add efficiency and personalization to online learning delivery while still providing the flexibility for individuality without restrictions due to generational positioning. This type of approach allows for a generalized strategy of personalization that has been long on promise but short on delivery, particularly in the areas of learning and development.

localizadas nas ruas Oscar Clark, Pires Ferreira e Vereador Alcenor Candeira. O logradouro Praça da Graça
e seu entorno compõem a paisagem cultural histórica da cidade constituindo-se em local de memória,
símbolo de identificação de uma sociedade cuja trajetória deve ser preservada como patrimônio histórico e
cultural. This article talks about the issues of landscape and urban heritage. The object of study addresses the urban
transformations that have occurred in the setting of Praça da Graça and its immediate surroundings, located
in state of Piauí, historic center of the city of Parnaíba, during the military dictatorship period. Has as its
object of study the space delimited by the Praça da Graça, equipment and urban settings, as well as the
profiles of the same border building, located in the streets Oscar Clark, Pires Ferreira and Alcenor Candeira.
The Praça da Graça comprise the historic cultural landscape of the city constituting a memory location,
identification symbol for a society whose path should be preserved as a historical and cultural heritage.

The NHPA requires federal agencies to address their cultural resources, which are defined as any prehistoric or historic district, site, building, structure, or object. Section 110 of the NHPA requires federal agencies to inventory and evaluate their cultural resources, and Section 106 requires them to determine the effect of federal undertakings on those potentially eligible for the NRHP. Fort Hunter Liggett is in Central California, entirely within Monterey County. It was first established as the Hunter Liggett Military Reservation in 1941. The post was renamed Fort Hunter Liggett in 1975. This report provides a determination of eligibility for nine properties (Buildings 172, 179, 196, 197, 291, 2199, 723, and 914 and facilities 0301BS and radio-controlled aerial target [RCAT]) constructed between 1956 and 1972 and recommends that none are eligible under the NRHP and the California Register of Historic Resources (CRHR) criteria. Two other properties (Buildings 177 and 178) were found to be covered by the Unaccompanied Personnel Housing (UPH) Program Comment of 2006. In consultation with the California State Historic Preservation Officer (CASHPO), this work fulfills Section 110 requirements for these buildings.

Fort Gordon is located in northeast Georgia, directly west of Augusta-Richmond. It was first established as Camp Gordon during WWII for infantry and armor training. It has been known as Fort Gordon since 1956. This report provides historic context and recommends eligibility determinations for 24 buildings, structures, and landscapes associated with the Gordon Lakes Golf Club constructed between 1975 and 2009. The report recommends two Real Property landscapes (the Golf Driving Range and 18-Hole Golf Course including Gordon Lake) and one structure (Gordon Lake Dam) are eligible for the NRHP. The other 21 buildings and structures are recommended Not Eligible. Consulting with the Georgia State Historic Preservation Officer, this work fulfills Section 110 requirements for these buildings, structures, and landscapes.

The Burgess-Capps Cabin is located on the US Air Force Academy (USAFA), Colorado, and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1975 under the name of “Pioneer Cabin.” The building is currently not occupied but used as a history interpretive site. It is one of the few log cabins that remain in this part of Colorado from the time of European settlement. All buildings, especially historic ones, require regular planned maintenance and repair. The most notable cause of historic build-ing element failure or decay is not the fact that the historic building is old, but rather, it is caused by incorrect or inappropriate repair or basic neglect of the historic building fabric. This document is a maintenance manual compiled with as-is conditions of construction materials of the cabin. The secretary of interior’s guidelines on rehabilitation and repair per material are discussed to provide the cultural resources manager at USAFA a guide to maintain this historic building. Additional chapters include information regarding the historic materials and a structural analysis. This report satisfies Section 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) of 1966 as amended and will help USAFA’s Cultural Resources Management Office to manage this historic building.

The periods of significance for Criterion A are: from 1769 to 1833, relating to the founding and development of Mission San Antonio de Padua; from 1834 to 1923, relating to Euro-American land grants and ranchos; from 1923 to 1940, relating to Hearst’s purchase of the property and subsequent development; from 1940 to 1945, relating to the establishment of the Hunter Liggett Military Reservation (HLMR) and activities related to WWII; from 1959 to 1970, relating to the establishment and buildup of CDEC; and from 1975 to 1980, relating to HLMR’s redesignation as Fort Hunter Liggett and associated development. This report provides a comprehensive historic context for ranges, features, and buildings at Fort Hunter Liggett in support of Section 110 of the NHPA.

This document is an architectural survey of eight armories, seven field maintenance shops (FMS; three detached and four attached to the armory), and ten metal storage buildings utilized by the Ohio Army National Guard (OHARNG), located across the state of Ohio. The armories and OMS were constructed or received extensive renovation and additions between 1971 and 1977, while the majority of the metal storage buildings were constructed in the 1980s. This survey satisfies Section 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 (NHPA) as amended and was used to recommend the eligibility of these buildings and structures for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). It is the recommendation of this report that two armories; Alliance Armory (1976) and Xenia Armory (1975) and one associated support building; Xenia motor storage building (1975) are significant under National Register of Historic Places criteria and retain enough integrity to be individually eligible for the NRHP. Volume II of this report is published separately and contains the ERDC-CERL architectural survey forms.

The National Park Service (NPS) opened the John Fitzgerald Kennedy National Historic Site (JOFI), in Brookline, Massachusetts in 1969 to commemorate the life of the 35th president, John F. Kennedy, at the home where he was born in 1917. The site was a gift from Rose Kennedy, and the Kennedy family, to the nation. It joined the Park Service initially as part of a unit managed by the Boston Service Group, a regional administrative unit that managed many parks and units that were in development and several small sites. The Administrative History traces the history of the establishment and management of John Fitzgerald Kennedy National Historic Site from efforts to commemorate the house during his presidency through the beginning of the 21st century.

In consultation with the Wisconsin State Historic Preservation Officer (WISHPO), this work fulfills Section 110 requirements for these buildings.
