Texto completo da fonteSince the idea of topology was realized in real materials, the hunt is on for new candidates of topological semimetals with novel electromagnetic responses. For example, topological states can be highly conductive due to a topological protection, which can be destroyed in a magnetic field and lead to an extremely high magnetoresistance. In Weyl semimetals, a transverse current that would usually require a magnetic field to emerge, can be generated by intrinsic Berry curvature without a magnetic field -- the celebrated anomalous Hall effect. In this dissertation, both phenomena mentioned above are studied in rare-earth monopnictides and RAlX material family (R=rare-earths, X=Ge/Si), respectively. The monopnictides are ideal for the study of extreme magnetoresistance because of their topological transitions and abundant magnetic phases. In LaAs, we untied the connection between topological states and the extreme magnetoresistance, the origin of which is clarified. In HoBi, we found an unusual onset of extreme magnetoresistance controlled by a magnetic phase dome. On the other hand, RAlX material family is a new class of Weyl semimetals breaking both inversion and time-reversal symmetries. In particular, in PrAlGeₓSi₁₋ₓ (x=0-1), we unveiled the first transition from intrinsic to extrinsic anomalous Hall effect in ferromagnetic Weyl semimetals, and the role of topology is discussed. In CeAlSi, we found that the Fermi level can be tuned as close as 1 meV away from the Weyl nodes; moreover, a novel anomalous Hall response appears only when the Fermi level is tuned to be near the Weyl nodes. Thus, we established a new transport response solely induced by Weyl nodes

Those houses are in the form of individual structures located in a defined property or garden surrounding each. A large group of buildings of this type of houses in Al-khalil are studied. Measured site survey supports the main hypothesis doing at how this fashion is found in Palestine as in other surrounding towns. The outcomes form the case study catalog focusing on Al-khalil

The main hypotheses establish the nature of this change, thus the analysis of the former and the later. To do this the earlier (Hosh) dwelling is being studied at different levels and periods. The site survey helped in understanding the traditional architectural and social values, which are maintained by the central-hall house inhabitants

Texto completo da fonteSuch political organization as the Grand Duchy of Lithuania (further GDL) need to be analyzed both of political and cultural sizes. It is quite difficult aim. One of the way to find the answer to the question was it possible to made a carrier to an orthodox believer noble in the GDL is to made a genealogical investigation of one such family. So the main goal of this investigation is to find out how could the Bratosz – Zenowicz family made so brilliant carrier being in 15th century Lithuania strangers, came, as it is thinking, from Serbia or Moldavia? It is interesting to realize, when this particular family understand, that they are the members of this state and that they can reach the same goals that any other noble family. We have no enough sources about the question were the family already orthodox when came in the GDL or not. But we know precisely, that already in the end of the 16th century Jorge Zenowicz became a reformat. His son Christopher Zenowich connected in his hands both catholic and reformat beliefs. One of the most important question we need to answer is how did this family get its coat of arms? Was in one general process in all GDL? Analyzing all facts we can constant, that in spite of the act of Horodle, where a conception of coat of arms appeared in the GDL society, but only some families were able to get this sign of nobility, Zenowicz already in 1422 years formatted and confirmed the coat of arms of their own family. Creating the legend about their past... [to full text]

Texto completo da fonteDuring the Ancien Régime, letters have accomplished several functions, among those, to inform, instruct, entertain and spread determinate ideas or speeches among the population. The second half of the 18th century and the 19th one, represent the period of maximum splendour of correspondence as a mean of communication and to establish social relations as a result, fundamentally, of the increase of people that became alphabetized and for the development of the Spanish post system. The private letters of our ancestors, no conceived with any literary intention neither with the purpose to be distributed publicly, have become, in the course of time, very valuable historical documents that can be examined from different optics and/or scientific fields. Up till now those that have given to light more studies and publications are the literary or linguistic and the historical fields, but the study of correspondence has been (and is) useful for other disciplines like anthropology, sociology, palaeography, diplomatic, philosophy and even the so considered “pure” or “exact” sciences. Specialists in the writing culture of social history analyse letters as a written product and they focus their attention on the different forms, uses, and functions of letters, the language employed to write them or the extension and social utility of the gender. Catalonia, in spite of have been a territory especially fertile regarding the production and the conservation of correspondence, has still not located, catalogued and introduced the whole of its rich documentary heritage neither it hasn’t developed sufficiently studies of group on the matter. The last purpose that our research pursues is to cover, partly, the gap (at present existent) of studies relative to theory and practice of epistolary writing circumscribed to the Catalan territory. We also would present some correspondences up till now unpublished. With this purpose, we have examined fifteen collects of family letters (exchanged between the members of a same lineage) of the 18th century and the first half of the 19th one using a qualitative and diachronic analysis’ method, which is based in the selection of a representative sample of letters and in the observation of a series of items. Our study pays a special attention to the formal and the thematic characteristics of selected letters to intend to establish to what extent the epistolary practice coincided with the theoretical disposals of the moment; to know which were the main subjects developed in those letters; and from this information, to infer which would be the uses that one gave to correspondence during the aforementioned centuries and to approach us (with all the possible preventions) to the idiosyncrasy of the family relationships.

Texto completo da fonteLanguage-play can briefly be described as the wilful manipulation of the peculiarities of a linguistic system in a way that draws attention to these peculiarities themselves, thereby causing a communicative and cognitive effect that goes beyond the conveyance of propositional meaning. Among the various phenomena answering this description are the different kinds of puns, but also more strictly form-based manipulations such as rhymes and alliteration, in addition to a host of other, sometimes even fuzzier, subcategories.
Due to its unusual nature, and especially its frequently strong dependence on the idiosyncrasies of a particular language, language-play can generally be assumed to constitute a significant challenge in a translation context. Furthermore, given its non-negligible effects, the translator is not free to simply ignore the language-play (provided it has been recognized as such in the first place) without having taken an active stance on its treatment. However, the difficulties in finding a suitable target-language solution are possibly exacerbated if the source text is a complex multimedia product such as a film, the translation of which, normally in the form of dubbing or subtitling, is subject to additional constraints.
In view of these intricacies, it has been the aim of this study to analyze and measure how language-play in film has actually been treated in authentic dubbing and subtitle versions. As a prerequisite, the concept of language-play has been elaborated on, and more than a dozen subcategories have been described, developed, and employed. For the purpose of carrying out a meaningful analysis of the dubbing and subtitling of language-play, a corpus has been compiled, comprising 18 family films and 99 of their various target versions, most on DVD, and yielding nearly 800 source-text instances of language-play and thousands of translation solutions.
The results indicate that especially two sets of factors, among the many that are likely to influence a translation, play a prominent role: the type of the language-play, and the identity and working conditions of the translator. By contrast, the mode of translation (dubbing vs. subtitling), the target language, or the general properties of the films, could not be shown to have a sizeable impact.

Texto completo da fonteThe thesis is divided into four chapters. The first traces the status questionis and the critical fortune of the Master of the "Pantheon" and of his workshop: this artist, in fact, has been known for a century. Therefore, the various interventions of the scholars have been enumerated, focusing on the main ones, exposing them, criticize them and removing the hypotheses that are less probable today. In the second chapter, was provided an analysis of the ms. Lat. 4895 (Paris, Bibliothèque nationale de France), showing the specific characteristics firstly of the Bolognese illuminator, active in the first leaves, and secondly of the Master of the "Pantheon", active in the remaining leaves. The third chapter analyzes the codes attributable to the workshop of the Master of the "Pantheon", placed chronologically in the fourth decade of the fourteenth century, as well as the volumes commissioned by Bruzio Visconti, who was a prolific patron of illuminated manuscripts between the fourth and fifth decade of the fourteenth century. Finally, in the fourth chapter, is showed the connections between the Master of the "Pantheon" and the Lombard figurative culture of the first half of the century; also bringing out the figure of Giovami Visconti, archbishop of Milan, as patron and owner of manuscripts.

Dough figurine is the one of the many Chinese traditional handicrafts around the world. In Taiwan, the dough figurine is widely used for amusement and often seen in religious activities. However, the dough figurine culture wais fading away due to environment change. This research is in collaboration with Wu Family Dough Figurine Hall located in Xihu, Changhua County , through this update of the park, we analyzed the particularity space for the dough figurine’s culture from the perspective of interior design, and complete recorded their design process. This study is going to explore and reach the expectations of the research objectives are as follows: 1. To explore the cultural and creative industries, museum and other related documents, and the actual analysis of related cases. 2. To explore historical and uniqueness of the dough figurine’s culture. 3. To simulate the appropriate development framework, design methods, and the concept's conversion of "Wu Family Dough Figurine Hall". 4. In practice implementation, simulated the most suitable flat pattern based on requirement, and provided the professional lighting, air conditioning planning and suggestion, and also to prepared 2D drawings, detail large drawing, and 3D simulation presented for each space. In this study, the first thing is to review documents of the cultural and creative industries which were categorized in the industrial cultivated and the cultural industrialized, to know the space difference between factory tour and local cultural hall, and equipped with data information about the museum, about the concept of planning for the design appearance, about regulatory restrictions, and other related information, as the pre-dimension to the design.Furthermore, screening the same tourism circle contain all kinds of levels of the cultural attractions to analyze these cases, from the spiritual satisfactions and feedbacks produced by the experience of visitors with regard to the dissimilarity measure of local cultural halls, tourism factories and museums to prove whether reach the goal of building a hall, and learn the advantages of architecture design and aesthetics interior design to become the nutrient of this study design. For a more in-depth about dough figurine’s culture, review the historical development of dough art, cultural evolution and declining situation, to make a comprehensive understanding, conduct surveys in all over Taiwan regarding the number and living environmental of masters who possess the dough skills, and understand the background of this design object "Wu Family Dough Figurine Hall". When the project ran through, the research team negotiated with the owner of Wu Family Dough Figurines Hall several times to make sure the precise management direction in the near future. This proposal offers suggestions regarding functional requirement on quantity and quality. Adequate architecture suggestions and solutions are also provided based on the geographic environment, integrated with dough figurine elements. As well as using expanded metal meshes to represent the “real” part of the dough figurine ingredients, while choosing wooden sticks, illuminated randomly with the reflection of light to stand for the “virtual” part of the spirits of dough figurine artworks, in order to evaluate the consumption of both parts in its spatial position. The whole new design takes conciseness, route fluency, and fusion of the old and the new into consideration. It not only strengthens community empowerment, but also enlightens the Wu Family Dough Figurines Hall a new direction to boost its neighboring industry transformation as well as the Xihu tourist settlement.

After the Wei’s family immigrated to Taiwan and settled down in Yongjing of Zhanghua, they became rich in the town, because Wei Shang-ying of the second generation run the Fifteen-Town Canals. The Wei Chengmei Hall was allocated by one of the Fifteen-Town Canals and the management of irrigation system was closely related to the settlement of the Wei’s family and the construction of this family house. During the period of three political eras, the architectural development of the Wei Chengmei Hall went through three phases of transformation, from a water house to an ancestral shrine, and then to a fully developed courtyard house compound with two rows and double wing buildings, in accordance with the generation and the division of the Wei’s family members. Apart from a scrutiny of the relationship between the Fifteen-Town Canals and the development of the Wei’s family, the architectural development of Wei Chengmei Hall was narrated on the basis of the ethical order of a traditional Taiwanese house, the generation and the division of the family members and the change of their religious belief.

Through investigating the family history of the twin hall of the Liu Family in Fangliao, Xinpu, Hsinchu, this study aimed to grasp the process and reasons for the ethnicity change during Hakka immigrants’ emigration to Taiwan across the Strait. Second, it explored the ways Hakka people received land resources from Pingpu Tribes through exogamy when crossing the Earthen Ox & Ditch to reclaim. It further probed into the Liu Family’s construction of the twin hall during Japanese colonial period and assimilation of the latest building materials and methods then. The twin hall was later listed as a historic monument not because of its ancientness but of its own characteristics. The development of the sacrifice business in the Liu family also complemented their management of the monument, which was among the few historic sites in Taiwan that were able to sustain their original lifestyle. Finally, based on the operation of such a family monument, suggestions about the restoration of historic monuments were also offered to the government.

How do the ethnic groups of Hakka gather and inherit their spirits? And how does it get preserved? The aim of research is to discuss the relation between ancestral halls and ethnic groups by observing the Lin family in Meizhi Village, Shikang District. The author had reflections about being a Hakkanese and the lack of knowledge about the spirit of Hakka, therefore initiated the thought of conducting a research on Hakka culture. Due to that fact that the author is a Hakkanese from Chiayi area, also once lived in Taichung, the thought of doing a research about the issue of “the cohesion and inheritance” of the Shikang Hakka culture thus initiated. The discussion of the cohesion and inheritance of the Shikang Hakka culture is based on the structure of the ceremonial activities of Hakka and the aspect of regional insights. It focuses on presenting the mechanism and reason of cultural reproduction and expect to present the ceremonial activities to realize the cohesion of Hakka, the meanings of inheritance and the characteristics of regional culture. From the mechanism of the culture inheritance of the ancestral halls, the study provides understanding of the Hakka culture and constructs the recognition to Hakka culture. From the process of researching, the author also concerned about the shift arrangement made by the Hakkanese ancestors and the situation of operation by their descendant. It also influenced the association between the way the elderly inherit the Hakka culture and the ceremonial activities the young conducts. In addition, from the characteristics of the Hakka culture , it can even highlight “the cohesion and inheritance” referred in this research. Lastly, the “the cohesion and inheritance” rebuild the cultural reproduction of the Hakka spirit in order to enhance the recognition to the Hakka culture. These conditions influenced the process of shaping the Hakka culture directly or indirectly, also apparently impacted the mechanism of the Lin family Hakka spirit. In the process of research, no matter it is the entertainment when having ceremonial activities at the very beginning, or the ceremonial activities led by the people at the prosperous stage, they have different individual contexts. Lastly, the research, via theoretical analysis and deep interviews and observation, also aggregated the information from the research to represent the spirit of Hakka. The study expects to bring positive effects to the conservation of culture and the education of the traditional Hakka culture via guiding shift arrangements and its meanings and indirectly observing the process of ceremonial activities by the Lin family. People can seek for the long lost Hakka culture by the issue of shift arrangements.

This thesis is concentrate on the offspring of Mi Fu (1051-1107) and their efforts to preserve Mi Fu’s calligraphy and establishing family culture, particularly in Calligraphy Compendium of the Hall of Pine and Sweet Olive (Songgui Tang Tie,《松桂堂帖》), which was inscribed by Mi Fu’s great-grandson Mi Ju Rong (about late 12th century to middle 13th century). Several issues had been researched about Mi You Ren (1074-1051), Mi Fu’s eldest son, including Mi You Ren’s calligraphies and paintings, and his authenticating for the emperor Gaozong (1107-1187, r. 1127-1162). In fact, there are many other members of Mi Fu’s family engage in establishing Mi Fu as a central role in family culture. Mi You Ren authenticated Mi Fu’s works for his friends in private and left many colophons; Mi Fu’s grandson Mi Xian (active in late 12th century to early 13th century) not only collected Mi Fu’s poetry and essays to publish Supplements to Anthology of Mi Fu (Bao Jin Shan Lin Ji Shi Yi,《寶晉山林集拾遺》) but also compiled Genealogy of the Mi Family (Mi Shi Pu,《米氏譜》), tightening up relationships between family members; Mi Ju Rong and his father, along with his elder brother, gathered Mi Fu’s lost works for ages, laying the groundwork of Calligraphy Compendium of the Hall of Pine and Sweet Olive, which was inscribed by Mi Ju Rong in 1248. Only one volume of Calligraphy Compendium of the Hall of Pine and Sweet Olive remains to today. This volume includes the finest edition of Three Precious Works of the Jin Dynasty (Bao Jin San Tie,寶晉三帖) and the one and only calligraphies of Mi Fu, such as large seal script and small regular script with clerical script style, which being complements to Mi Fu’s style and calligraphies; the colophons by Mi You Ren and Mi Ju Rong also reveals many facts. By searching through literature, there were at least four volumes, more than thirty works in Calligraphy Compendium of the Hall of Pine and Sweet Olive, each volume has their own circulation after late Ming dynasty, and a few works had been mounted in Calligraphy Compendium of the Hall of Glorious Honor (Ying Guang Tang Tie,《英光堂帖》) by mistake. The arrangement of Calligraphy Compendium of the Hall of Pine and Sweet Olive is mainly by the type of script and writing, secondary by the time when the calligraphies were written, but the arrangement was influenced by the source of the calligraphies as well. The colophons by Mi You R&;eacute;n and Mi Ju Rong reveal the reasons for why Mi Fu had done the calligraphies, the circulation and source of the works, and praising Mi Fu for his splendid calligraphies. Conscious of family tradition can be found in these colophons. Mi You Ren and Mi Ju Rong connect Mi Fu’s life and activities with the calligraphies through colophons, authenticating and praising Mi Fu’s calligraphies, trying to handle the explanatory authority of Mi Fu. From the colophons, Mi Fu’s family members showed their strong ambition to establish family culture and preserve cultural tradition. The widespread and popularity of Mi Fu’s style should be attribute to the endeavor of the people behind the scenes, which the offspring of Mi Fu played an important role. Starting from Mi You Ren to Mi Xian, Mi Ju Rong’s father and brother, finally to Mi Ju Rong who inscribed Calligraphy Compendium of the Hall of Pine and Sweet Olive, all of them represent their yearning for the former glory of Mi Fu, and the practice and ambition to preserving Mi Fu and his Bao-Jin heritage. The endeavors and fruitful results influence how people recognize Mi Fu in the history, which deserve to be researched and pay attention to.

Texto completo da fonteThis master thesis focuses on the construction process of relationships between adult full-, half- and step- siblings who previously lived in a stepfamily. This research originates from observations made from earlier studies on siblings: they focus mainly on full sibling relationships in non-divorced families, in which biological links are taken for granted in the definition of siblings. Conversely, the increase in stepfamilies, a phenomenon observed in most western countries and particularly in Quebec, suggests that siblings from different family backgrounds are prone to live together. This implies that their links extend beyond the biological framework. How does these full-, half- and step- sibling relationships differ from findings on studies of full siblings in adulthood? From these researches on adult full siblings, two concepts particularly stand out: time and memory. Drawing from these findings, we speculate that these concepts are most relevant when examining the establishment of relationships amongst full-, half- and step- siblings in adulthood. This exploratory study aims to understand the construct of adult full-, half- and step- sibling relationships over time and to identify the key moments in their life course which impacted their relationships. The methodology used was qualitative in nature and based on life stories. Therefore, we collected the life stories of fourteen participants who lived in a stepfamily during their childhood and/or adolescence. The analysis of their speeches highlights that the bonds established between brothers and sisters in stepfamilies are as important as the bonds existing in families where siblings are exclusively related by blood. However, we found that sibling relationships in stepfamilies go beyond their sharing of biological ties: it is more the time experienced in stepfamilies, a shared history and a shared memory which contribute to the configuration and maintenance or not of their relationships in adulthood. Even though the exploratory nature of this study clearly does not allow the generalisation of our findings, we believe that this research invites us to broaden our focus on sibling relationships, an understudied object in the sociology of family.
