This study aims to determine the movements performed in pious children's gymnastics in order to develop children's gross motor skills. Knowing the implementation of pious children's gymnastics. To find out how the teacher trains the correct gross motor movements in pious children's gymnastics at RA Nurul Washilah, Simpang Merbau Village, Na IX.X District. This study uses a qualitative method. The data collection procedure is by using the method of observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of the study, the movements carried out in pious children's gymnastics to develop gross motor skills for RA Nurul Washilah's children, Simpang Merbau Village, Na IX.X District, were jumping, running, walking, tiptoeing, moving the whole body, hands and feet. In addition to the movement that is useful for developing gross motor skills, this pious child's gymnastics is also full of Islamic values, both in poetry and in movements. Therefore, RA Nurul Washilah chose this exercise among other children's gymnastics. The implementation of pious children's gymnastics at RA Nurul Washilah, Simpang Merbau Village, Na IX District. carried out since 2018. They realize it every Friday and Saturday, because other days iqra' activities are carried out. As for the steps for implementing pious children's gymnastics, at the initial stage the teacher prepares gymnastic equipment such as tape and gymnastic music. Then prepare a line of children. Giving direction and motivating the children. Next, a gymnastics was held where some of the teachers became instructors in front of the children. The way the teacher trains the correct gross motor movements in pious children's gymnastics at RA Nurul Washilah, Simpang Merbau Village, Na IX.X District is by exemplifying the movements of jumping, walking and running. The teacher also adjusts the position of the child, so that the child's movements can run well. Initially, some children could not do gymnastics well, where the movements made by children were still stiff, there were also children who did gymnastics movements just carelessly and still wanted to play. And the teacher is aware of this, therefore the teacher also teaches gymnastics for pious children in class. And the results are visible during the three months of the research, where the movements of children in pious children's gymnastics are getting better. In the physical education of preschool children, the development of basic movements depends on the manifestations of motor qualities – speed, strength, endurance, which to a greater extent expand the functional capabilities of the child’s body. With insufficient development of physical qualities, teaching physical exercises is difficult, and in some cases even completely impossible. In this regard, in our study, we consider the effectiveness of using subjects in rhythmic gymnastics classes with preschool educational institutions. The research is devoted to physical education of preschoolers by means of rhythmic gymnastics. The work gives the characteristics of the imaginative and playing rhythmic gymnastics. The methodic features of using subjects in rhythmic gymnastics classes in preschool educational institutions are listed. We present the results of a comparative pedagogical experiment, the purpose of which is to reveal the effectiveness of the use of imaginative and playing rhythmic gymnastics exercises with gymnastic sticks in the classroom with children aged 6–7 years. The work shows the importance of rhythmic gymnastics, its influence on the development of physical qualities in preschoolers.

Main purpose of this paper was to find differences in motor skill level between selected and non-selected group of children in artistic gymnastics. Artistic gymnastics is one of the sports that is frequently put into a negative context because of early specialization of children, while at the same time it is considered to be basic, fundamental sport. Thirty-one child (age 5.59 ± 0.77) participated in this study. The data was collected using Test of Gross Motor Development – Second Edition (TGMD-2). One-way ANOVA and Bonferroni post-hoc test was used to determine the differences in motor skills in children. The results show differences in locomotor skills between selected and non-selected children gymnasts (p<0.05). When comparing boys and girls, results show no gender differences in gross motor quotient, locomotor or manipulative skills. Although, there significant differences exist in gross motor quotient and locomotor skills in selected girls, compared to non-selected girls (p<0.05). These results suggest that female competition program in preschool age favorizes development of locomotor but not manipulative motor skills. Regardless of the sport in which preschool children are enrolled, exercise should be multilateral. For this reason, in artistic gymnastic we should encourage multilateral development and inclusion of tests and exercises for manipulative skills which could have effect on child’s future overall (motor, social and psychological) development.

Children, especially girls, do not demonstrate physical activity (PA) and physical literacy (PL) levels associated with sufficient health benefits. Gymnastics is thought to be a suitable field for reinforcing children’s PL and related elements, such as PA. This study aimed at assessing the PL level of female recreational gymnasts to detect areas of sufficient and insufficient development in their PL. For that, 101 8-12-year-old girls (Mage=10.1±1.4), who participated in recreational gymnastics programs for at least one year (Myears=3.7±2.0), were assessed by using the Canadian Assessment of Physical Literacy (CAPL-2). Average scores (M±SD) for total PL and its related elements were calculated for all participants. Accordingly, each of them was classified into one out of the four CAPL-2’s interpretive categories, indicating whether she was at a non-recommended (“beginning”, “progressing”) or recommended level (“achieving”, excelling”). Regression analysis examined the association of total PL score with participants’ age and years of participation in gymnastics. Although the female gymnasts, similarly to same-age children worldwide, did not present adequate PL level, their fitness was sufficiently developed and they were excessively motivated/confident for PA. Adversely, other PL elements, i.e., their motor competence, PA knowledge, PA participation, were below the recommended levels, indicating deficiencies in their PL development. Age was associated with total PL (b=.440, p=.0001), whereas the years of gymnastics’ participation were not (b=.090, p=.325). Participation in recreational gymnastics is important for enhancing several PL elements of female gymnasts; however, for developing the entire range of PL elements, the implementation of multicomponent gymnastics programs must be prioritized.

Background: The aim of the study was to determine the specificity of somatic build among girls practicing artistic gymnastics at the basic stage of training. Material/Methods: The study involved 12 8.9-year-old girls practicing artistic gymnastics at BKSG "Zawisza". The girls had 3.4 years of professional training experience and were affected by a six-week training (3-4 hours a day). They had the level of youth class. Anthropometric measurements of selected somatic characteristics have been taken. The results were subject to anthropology-specific classifications and statistical analysis. With the use of an expert method, the rating of technical preparation among gymnasts was made. The evaluation was performed by a team consisting of five experts - licensed referees. Results: The values of selected features and morphological indicators showed to be related to the gymnastsf technical level. Interdependence (p ≥ 0.05) was revealed in the body height, shoulders width and the shoulders indicator (a directly proportional character of correlation) and by the hips width (an inversely proportional correlation). The size of the critical correlation coefficient close to statistical significance was observed also for the body weight and for the thigh and lower leg perimeters. The results showed that during the early stages of training, requirements of the discipline favoured girls with bigger parameters of height, and weight - which does not coincide with the somatic model occurring among adult gymnasts. Conclusions: In artistic gymnastics at early stages of education the requirements and specificity of the discipline (concerning the body height and the body weight) were not contiguous to the somatic model of mature artistic gymnasts. This aspect should be taken into account when conducting level-based assessments and projecting the development of young adepts of artistic gymnastics as well as developing classification programs in the youngest sport classes (choosing exercise elements which would be associated as little as possible with a somatic factor deviating from the model of the discipline) or enabling their performance on modified gymnastic equipment specially adapted to the children' capabilities.

This study examined factors that motivate parents to involve their children in organized gymnastics programs. A questionnaire based on McCullagh et al.'s (1993) study of recreational soccer players was used along with open-ended questions. The questionnaire was administered to parents of children who were involved in a private gymnastics club. Descriptive statistics of 156 surveys showed that fitness, skill development, and fun were most frequently cited reasons for parents in their decision to enroll and keep their child in gymnastics programs. Competition was the least important factor. ANOVA showed that competition and team membership factors were more important to the parents of competitive gymnasts than parents of recreational gymnasts. Coaches and youth sport program organizers could use these findings to develop and market youth activity programs.

Introduction: The most popular method of stretching is static stretching. Vibration may provide a means of enhancing range of motion beyond that of static stretching alone. Purpose: This study sought to observe the effects of vibration on static stretching to determine whether vibration-aided static stretching could enhance range of motion acquisition more than static stretching alone in the forward split position. Methods: Ten highly trained male volunteer gymnasts were randomly assigned to experimental (N = 5) and control (N = 5) groups. The test was a forward split with the rear knee flexed to prevent pelvic misalignment. Height of the anterior iliac spine of the pelvis was measured at the lowest split position. Athletes stretched forward and rearward legs to the point of discomfort for 10 s followed by 5 s of rest, repeated four times on each leg and split position (4 min total). The experimental group stretched with the device turned on; the control group stretched with the device turned off. A pretest was followed by an acute phase posttest, then a second posttest measurement was performed following 4 wk of treatment. Difference scores were analyzed. Results: The acute phase showed dramatic increases in forward split flexibility for both legs (P < 0.05), whereas the long-term test showed a statistically significant increase in range of motion on the right rear leg split only (P < 0.05). Effect sizes indicated large effects in all cases. Conclusion: This study showed that vibration can be a promising means of increasing range of motion beyond that obtained with static stretching in highly trained male gymnasts.

Abstract: The objective of this work was to study through in the electromyography the upper and lower umbilical rectus abdominis and the anterior and posterior parts of the external oblique muscles of children 8 to 10 years old. The children studied practice artistic and rhythmical gymnastic sports at the training and learning levei and the study was made during abdominal exercise in the dorsal decubitus position on the ground and on a board. The children were divided into 2 groups: Group I - ten already trained children; Group II ¿ nineteen learners. The participants in Group I practiced an average of 5 times a week and those in Group II practiced 2 times a week. The exercises analyzed were: on the ground - lifting the legs 30 cm, 20 cm and 10 cm high with the knees flexed 90 degrees; flexing the trunk while maintaining the legs elevated and the knees flexed; flexing the trunk with homo and heterolateral rotation of the trunk while maintaining the legs elevated and the knees flexed; on the board -flexing the trunk with the knees flexed 90 degrees on top of the board inclined 30 cm, 20 cm and 10 cm; flexing the trunk with rotation of the trunk homo and heterolateral with the knees flexed on the board inclined 30 cm, 20 cm and 10cm. The results showed that the superior umbilical part of the rectus abdominal muscle presented more intense action potential than the inferior-umbilical part; the more intense action potential occurred at the flexing of the trunk and at the flexing of the trunk with homo and heterolateral rotation. The anterior part of the external oblique muscle presented more intense action potential intense than the posterior part; the more intense action potential occurred at the flexing of the trunk and at the flexing of the trunk with heterolateral rotation. In both of the muscles the more intense action potential occurred between 45 and 60 degrees of flexing the trunk; the children in Group I presented more intense action potential than those in Group II; the exercise of lifting the flexed legs did not prove efficient for strengthening the analyzed abdominal muscle structure

The aim of this research was to analyze the characteristics of anthropometric and body composition variables of female children. The participants, aged between 9 and 12 years, were selected intentionaliy and divided in two groups; one composed by chiidren who participated in the Artist Braziiian Gymnastic Championship during the years 1995, 1996, 1997, and the other by chiidren who did not practice any competitive sport during the same years. Internationally children’s movement skill competence levels are low. Cross-sectional evidence, suggests that children participating in gymnastics possess enhanced orientation and stabilisation skills leading to a better understanding of where the body is in space. Therefore gymnastics may offer an excellent opportunity to develop children’s movement skill competence. The primary aim of this thesis was to evaluate whether a gymnastics programme embedded within the Physical Education (PE) curriculum could develop children’s actual and perceived movement skill competence. In order to achieve the primary aim, it was necessary to gain a greater understanding of the constructs which underpin movement skill competence in children. Consequently, a secondary aim was to evaluate the role that locomotive, object control, stability skills and general body coordination play in the development of movement skill competence in children.

Effects of New Style Gymnastics With Different Frequencies on Bone Strength and Health- related Physical Fitness of Children Abstract The purposes of the study were to investigate the effect of bone strength and physical fitness on elementary school high-grade students after 18 weeks of the new style gymnastics training (NSGT) with two different frequencies. Seventy-eight six-grade students of Ho-mei elementary school, Chang-hua, Taiwan were volunteers as subjects and they were divided into group A (EG-A), B (EG-B), and the group C (CG). The EG-A had two days of 15 min NSGT per week; The EG-B had four days of 15 min NSGT per week; and CG had no training for 18 weeks. All of the subjects had to go through the testing events before, mid, and after the training. The test events included assessed radius and tibia bone strength (Sunlight Omnisense® 7000P) and health-related physical fitness test, including the BMI, sit and reach, standing jump, 1-min sit-up and 800m run. Two-way ANOVA mixed design was used to analyze the data. The alpha level was set at .05. The findings are as follows: 1. EG-B’s girl had improved tibia bone strength but EG-B had not changes indicating 4 days of 15 min NSGT per week for girls was better than 2 days of 15 min NSGT per week on bone strength. 2. EG-B’s boy had improved cardiovascular endurance but EG-B had not indicating 4 days of 15 min NSGT per week for boys was better than 2 days of 15 min NSGT per week on 800m run. 3. No difference was found on BMI, muscular strength, muscular endurance, and flexibility with two different frequencies of NSGT of elementary school high-grade students. Four days, 15 min, and 18 weeks of NSGT for six-grade students improved tibia bone strength for girls and better of cardiovascular endurance for boys, but it was not difference on the other health-related physical fitness such as BMI, muscular strength and endurance, and flexibility. Therefore, in order to improve and promote kids health-related fitness, it needs high intensity and frequencies of NSGT Key words: elementary students, bone strength, physical fitness, Gymnastics

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the New Style Gymnastics training program (NSGTP) on body composition (BC), health-related physical fitness (HPF), and blood lipids (BL) among obese elementary school children of 4th and 5th grades. The subjects were 40 male/female obese children, who were chosen by Weight-for-length index (WLI), divided into an experimental group (EG) and a control group (CG). The subjects participated twelve-week NSGTP, 50 minutes one time and five times a week. The exercise intensity was between 65-75﹪HRmax. The BC measurement, HPF examination, and blood sampling were made before and after training. Then, all collected data, within the twelve-week NSGPT, were analyzed by dependent sample t-test, to see the BC, HPF, and BLs differences between the EG and the CG after training; and, the independent sample t-test was applied to see the BC, HPF, and BLs differences between the EG and the CG before and after training. Theαlevel was set at .05. Following is our finding: 1.After the twelve-week NSGPT, weight, WLI, and Waist to hip ratio all significantly decreased (p<.05.). 2.Obese school children’s low back flexibility, the low body power, the muscular endurance, and the cardiovascular fitness all significantly improved (p<.05.). 3.All BL elements reached the significant difference (p<.05,) except low-density lipoprotein cholesterol. Remarkable improvement in total cholesterol, triglycerides, and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol for obese school children were found. Conclusion: The NSGTP as the main exercise prescription improves the body composition, health related physical fitness and blood lipids of obese school children. And NSGPT in all schools and related agencies is strongly recommended. Keyword: The New Style Gymnastics, body composition, blood lipids, health-related physical fitness

In the 19th century in many European countries people started to see the importance of hygiene and health care, as those factors had a significant impact on the health and life expectancy of citizens. However, Poland, which was at that time under the rule of Russia, Prussia, and Austria-Hungary, was extremely backward in this respect. As a result Poles were physically weak and sickly, and their life expectancy was among the lowest in Europe. The same applied to children and young people. Great social activists, including writers and publicists, encouraged the organisation of health-care, hygiene, healthy eating, gymnastics, tourism, and various sports for children and adolescents. They advocated simple ideas, which nowadays are obvious for everybody, but at that time were innovative, and their activity must be regarded as Promethean. The “Falcon” Polish Gymnastic Society and scouting also played a great role in this respect. The activities undertaken by Polish writers and social activists to improve the physical condition, health, and hygiene of young Poles brought positive effects.

Abstract Since physical education classes are often obligatory, the number of injuries sustained during those classes is high. The type of injury in physical education classes that is most often reported changes as children grow older. Young children (<12 years of age) most often injure their wrist and elbow, while the incidence of injuries in older children (>12 years of age) is highest in the hand and ankle. Physical education classes containing activities such as gymnastics and ball games provoke most damage. Physical education teachers play a key role in the prevention of physical education-related injuries. They are responsible for creating a safe environment for sports and play, not only by making sure that protective devices are used properly, and that equipment is in good order, but also by modifying rules and screening of physical limitations in their pupils.

Abstract To discuss the aetiology and prevention of paediatric sports injuries in non-contact sports, the following sports were selected based on their worldwide popularity: bicycling, dance, gymnastics, running, skiing, snowboarding, swimming, tennis, badminton, and volleyball. Each sport is covered in a systematic manner including a brief introduction of the sport practice, the epidemiology and aetiology of sport-specific injuries, risk factors, and preventive strategies. Because of similarities, skiing and snowboarding are grouped and discussed together, in the same manner as for tennis and badminton. The knowledge summarised should be implemented in real-life situations to encourage children and adolescents to participate in sports, allowing them to benefit from the well-known health benefits of sports participation with the lowest risk of injury as possible.

The modern understanding of sport, which is becoming more and more a business and less and less entertainment, requires legal regulation and protection of all participants in the sports activity, above all the sports players themselves. In support of this, numerous abuses by athletes testify. both physically, psychologically, and financially. It is common knowledge that children start playing sports at an early age. There are still fresh memories of the abuse of children - gymnasts in socialist Romania, (but also in other countries) where they were exposed to inhumane physical efforts in order to become world champions and thus promote the achievement of political goals (Nađa Komaneči and others). Given that minors represent a particularly vulnerable group of the population, precisely this category of sports players should be especially protected from abuses that are so common in sports. The goal of this article is focused on the analysis of the legal protection of minor athletes as persons who are just maturing and they especially need legal assistance that protects them from many dangers, starting from the neglect of basic human rights, to the denial and abuse of other rights, including their financial rights.

ABSTRACT The pandemic set a huge challenge to the work of coaches, as the circumstances required to have trainings at home and in an online learning environment for which there were no ready and custom-made materials. This led to our study, which is focused on structuring a methodology for online rhythmic gymnastics training for beginners. The study developed in two stages: during the first stage we created a questionnaire, we organized and filmed the new methodology with a total of 48 exercises, conducted an initial stage of testing a control and an experimental group, trained the parents of our participants to use the ZOOM platform; the online trainings were held for 3 months. The experimental group was trained in accordance with the methodology proposed, following a certain algorithm. The exercises of the methodology were demonstrated to the children with photos and videos, and the demonstrators were dressed and made up with costumes of famous characters from various fairy tales or children’s entertainment shows. The control group was trained using the methodology of their lead coach, in which the exercises were included in combinations, without prior study, and did not follow a specific training algorithm. After that experiment, during the second stage of the study, a final testing was made to evaluate the results, run a statistical processing, analyze the results and complete the project. The results from the analyses show that the methodology used in this algorithm and with the proposed photos and videos is well mastered by the beginner gymnasts. The difference in growth in both groups in the initial testing is minimal. In the final testing, the increase between the average values of the two groups increased significantly in favour of the increased maximum results in the experimental group. During the experiment, no children lost their interest in the conducted training as observed in the control group.

The article deals with the issues of increasing the risk of sports trauma and its rehabilitation, which is determined by the factor of active participation in training and competitive activities of children and adolescents. The authors of the research emphasize the increased traumatic danger of contact, power, game and extreme sports, at the same time, the tendency of increase of injuries and damages of the musculoskeletal system at a young age, previously characteristic for mature athletes, is noted. At the same time, the analysis of scientific literature sources has determined the importance of medical rehabilitation, the importance of using physical rehabilitation means, their combinations and combinations in the recovery period. The relevance of the present research is determined by the need to find a set of physical rehabilitation means in combination with the medical component, which will provide potentiation of the rehabilitation effect through the polyeffector principle. The aim of the work is to determine the effectiveness of physical rehabilitation complexes for school-age children with sports injuries of the shoulder girdle and free upper extremity at the postimmobilization stage of rehabilitation treatment. The analysis of the obtained data characterizes the effectiveness of application of physical rehabilitation complexes in combination with physiotherapeutic procedures, and a more pronounced effect of application of physical rehabilitation complexes in children of the main group, relative to the control group, was noted. The method of deep reflex-muscular massage, in combination with therapeutic gymnastics and physiotherapy procedures, causes the activation of the mobilization of the body's natural forces, which was reflected in the potentiation of the effectiveness of the application of the physical rehabilitation complex developed for children of the main group with sports injury at the postimmobilization stage of the recovery period.

ABSTRACT The topic of sexual violence in sports, especially amongst children and young athletes, and after the huge scandal related to women’s gymnastics in the US in 2016, is very relevant in today’s society. This concept of sexual violence is not unknown to the Bulgarian sports society either. The topic is not alien to Bulgarian sports circles either. For this study, in April 2021, an anonymous survey was conducted with 187 students from NSA “Vassil Levski” to determine whether this type of violence was committed in Bulgarian sports clubs and teams. To ensure anonymity, no personal information was required in the questionnaire, except for the gender of the person filling in the ques-tionnaire. It was found that 10.7% identified themselves as victims of violence, and 2.1% of respondents identified themselves as victims of sexual violence by their coach. After a discussion with students (n = 50), it was found that there are differences in the understanding of sexual violence. The study concludes that young people in Bulgaria need to undergo training about sexual violence to protect themselves and know how to react when encountering a sexual abuser.
