Resumo:

The article discusses the scholarly work of the renowned essayist and literary and cultural critic M. Epstein. Analyzing his Projective Dictionary of Humanistic Disciplines [Proektivniy slovar gumanitarnykh nauk] (2017), and parts of Encyclopaedia of Youth [Entsiklopediya yunosti] (co-authored by S. Iourienen, 2018), the author examines Epstein’s strategy for coining terms as well as the methodological assumptions at its core. The latter include, in particular, the assumption about a direct connection between scholarly knowledge and language, and the idea of language as a passive and ahistorical element. Epstein’s approach appears to be a peculiar fusion of scholarship and mythologism, and risky innovation and archaic methodological elements — an approach that is predetermined by Epstein’s adherence to the intellectual tradition that he himself defined as essayism, borrowing the term from R. Musil. The article is also concerned with the evolution of this intellectual trend, characterized by the absence of distinct genre boundaries, mythologism, and the claim to ‘superdisciplinarity.’

Resumo:

This article is a tribute to an outstanding researcher, mentor, and personality that was Kazan Federal University Professor Vera Alekseevna Kosova. Her most interesting and important scientific publications from “Uchenye Zapiski Kazanskogo Universiteta. Seriya Gumanitarnye Nauki” (Proceedings of Kazan University. Humanities Series”) are considered. Before her untimely death in 2021, V.A. Kosova devoted more than 20 years to collaborating with the journal and played an active role in its history. Here, the above-mentioned articles are reviewed in chronological order, thereby casting light on the evolution of V.A Kosova’s research interests. The subject of her works, the methods applied, and the major conclusions are briefly analyzed. It is shown that the articles under consideration develop V.A. Kosova’s derivatological concept, which concerns the problems of word-formation categories and the effectiveness of the onomasiological approach to the study of word-formation semantics. Notably, this concept has been considered to be of high scientific relevance by many researchers. The articles also contain invaluable data on V.A. Kosova’s methodological approach to the analysis of word-formation phenomena.

Resumo:

The fundamental research of Maciej Gurny, professor at the Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Berlin, is reviewed. Professor Gurny’s book is devoted to a phenomenon known in the historiography of the 20th century as “Krieg der Geister”. This seemingly invisible and bloodless war belongs only to the sphere of ideas. However, the scientific forces that were involved in this “Krieg der Geister”, as the author shows, directly influenced the origins, the course, and the consequences of the hot war – the World War I. These spheres are geography, racial anthropology, psychology and psychiatry. The monograph shows the role of the intellectuals of the region of Central-Eastern Europe and the Balkans in mobilizing the ideological (moral) and material resources of the warring countries. Having processed a huge array of information (about 1000 references to sources), M. Gurny notices a number of very interesting nuances in the topic under study. At the same time, one of the shortcomings of the book, in the opinion of the reviewer, is the absolutely insufficient use of Russian sources devoted to the phenomenon of “Krieg der Geister”. And those exist in not small numbers. One can argue with many of the conclusions that M. Gurny makes, but one of the undoubted advantages of the monograph is the return to the Russian intellectual space of many forgotten, but, paradoxically, historical plots that are relevant today.

Resumo:

This text reviews the Russian translation of Maciej Gorny’s book The Great War of Professors. Humanities. 1912–1923. After recollecting the main theses of the work, the review raises a question about the extent to which the extra-scientific knowledge (political, ideological, nationalistic) influences scientific knowledge and whether this influence can be eliminated. Both the book and some current developments lead the review’s author toward rather disappointing conclusions.

This essay contains reflections on a new book by renowned historian Denis Crouzet on children’s violence, and, more broadly, on the image of children during the French Wars of Religion. In the book under review, the novelty lies in the fact that the images of ‘innocent infants’ make part of a separate plot. Just as novel are Denis Crouzet’s reflections on the ‘sources of inspiration’ of the young French persecutors of heretics. The author indicates the anthropological correspondences inherent in the culture of both Italian and French cities, such as the carnivalesque inversion of the ‘world inside out’ and the social function of youth associations taking part in the ‘charivari’ rites. Denis Crouzet pays attention to sources that are novel to him, like children’s Christmas chants, mystery plays, and ‘miracles’. While impersonating the Innocents persecuted by Herod but also angels carrying retaliation to this villain, urban children learnt what and how to do in the face of a carnival challenge. The ways to leave the eschatological activism are of particular interest. After 1572, the gangs of executioners-children left the scene. Only the murder of the Guises on Christmas Day, 1588, threw crowds of children into the streets of Paris. Now they were described differently, however, — as a disciplined mass, occupied not with outrages but with prayers. The author speaks of ‘Catholic consciousness’, but that was already a different reformed Catholicism, departing further and further from the old ‘corporate Catholicism’. The religious political activity of children would become a thing of the past, however. The image of an innocent child would once more be in demand only after the Revolution, when, this time in a desacralised context, children became the embodiment of the French nation.

Resumo:

This paper looks at the collection of articles entitled Voices of Russian Philology from Budapest, published in 2018 under the editorship of Prof. Katalin Kroу. The collection gives a recapitulation of several generations of Russian studies produced by scholars affiliated with Eцtvцs Loránd University. The book contains works on both Russian literature and language; however, the review focuses solely on the papers dealing with various aspects of the history of Russian literature covering a large period from Pushkin to Ulitskaya. The reviewer points out a significant thematic diversity of the reviewed papers: some authors elaborate on rather conventional topics (such as Vladimir Solovyov’s historical philosophy, autobiographic elements in Herzen’s prose, poetics of detail in Chekhov’s works, etc.), while others develop relatively new issues. Some articles are of interest from the methodological point of view. The quality of articles collected in this volume proves that despite the fact that the Russian language no longer retains its status in contemporary Hungary, Russian studies still keep a high profile.

Resumo:

The chapter reveals the understanding of self-realization as an essential characteristic of a modern person, acting as a process of building a unique life path by a person. The characteristic of the interdisciplinary conceptual and terminological field in relation to the life path of a person is given. The results of the study of the degree of self-realization of individuals in the field of education are presented. A number of objective and subjective conditions are highlighted that contribute to achieving a high degree of self-realization of a person, the role and place of education in this process is shown.

Автором обозначены факторы, определяющие инвестиционную привлекательность регионов, представлен рейтинг инвестиционного потенциала и рисковости регионов, а так же сформулированы перспективные направления развития инвестиционной привлекательности региональных экономик.The article reviews the main tools for increasing the investment attractiveness of regional economies in the paradigm of sustainable socio-economic development of territories. The author identifies the factors that determine the investment attractiveness of regions, presents the rating of investment potential and risk of regions, and also formulated promising directions for the development of investment attractiveness of regional economies.

В статье проводится обобщение сведений о поэтапном заселении байкальского региона, и вводятся в научный оборот ранее нигде не упоминавшиеся источники, свидетельствующие о мирной колонизации края русскими, а также о проживании русских в Сибири, за долго до похода Ермака. Как новый метод исследования применяется анализ художественной фотографии, как этнокультурного источника. В работе также ставится под сомнение вопрос о происхождении сибирского казачества.The article summarizes the information about the gradual settlement of the Baikal region, and introduced into scientific circulation previously never mentioned sources, indicating the peaceful colonization of the region by the Russians, as well as the Russian residence in Siberia, long before the campaign of Ermak. The analysis of art photography as an ethno-cultural source is used as a new method of research. The paper also questions the origin of the Siberian Cossacks.

В статье рассматриваются в сравнительном аспекте номинативные единицы русского и чеченского языков, входящие, в корреляционные словообразовательные гнезда с вершинными словами глаз, ухо. Данные соматизмы мало изучены не только со стороны словообразовательных свойств, но и их функциональных значений.The article examines in comparative aspect the nominative units of the Russian and Chechen languages that are included in the correlation word-formation nests with the apices of the eyes, ear. These somatisms are poorly studied not only from the side of derivational properties, but also from their functional meanings.

Особый интерес в композитном словообразовании чеченского и других нахских языков представляют парные слова, представляющие собой сложение или двух одинаковых, повторяющихся основ, или таких основ, которые представляют собой синонимичную, антонимичную пару или каким-то особым образом семантически связанную пару слов. Парные слова в нахских языках давно привлекают к себе внимание исследователей. Однако в их описаниях и классификации еще нет единства и четкости.Of particular interest in the composite word formation of the Chechen and other Nakh languages are pair words, which are the addition of either two identical, repeating stems, or such stems, which are a synonymous, antonymical pair or in some special way semantically related pair of words. Double words in the Nakh languages have long attracted the attention of researchers. However, their descriptions and classification do not yet have unity and clarity.
