This study examines the rules of pre-marital guidance in Jorong Koto Tuo Nagari Salimpaung in terms of Maslahah Mursalah. This study uses field research. The problem is that there are rules issued by niniak mamak in jorong koto tuo which require their children to attend pre-marital guidance at the surau before registering their marriage with the KUA so that there are two pre-marital guidances. -Marriage for children and how is Maslaha Murslah's review of pre-marital guidance for children. This research is field research, the data were obtained through interviews, observation, and documentation, after the data was collected it was processed by reducing the data by focusing on the important things, then narrated descriptively and analyzed inductively. This study found that pre-marital guidance for children in Jorong Koto Tuo was carried out by providing customary provisions for the bride and groom, how to live in the community, and equipping them with religious knowledge as provisions for married life. Pre-marital guidance has a positive impact in the form of additional knowledge as a provision for participating in pre-marital counseling at KUA, helping KUA in forming a sakinah mawaddah warahmah family, easily adapting to the customs that exist in Jorong Koto Tuo, in addition to that, children who are men will be more appreciated by niniak mamak from the wife's family. In addition, there is a negative impact from pre-marital counseling in terms of the time span between the pre-marital counseling held by niniak mamak and marriage registration at the KUA. In terms of costs, the children who have to spend more on transportation costs to attend two pre-marital counseling sessions. Pre-marital guidance in the perspective of Islamic law is permissible because this pre-marital guidance contains benefits because the children receive mature provisions as provisions in household life. legally, the maslahah mursalah is greater than the harm, so this does not conflict with the maslahah mursalah.

This study used a questionnaire designed to identify Adlerian characteristics of adult only children. It was hypothesized that not all of the characteristics mentioned in Adlerian theory will be found in each of the only children and certain characteristics will not be evident in any of the only children used in this study. Four adult only children volunteered to participate in this study. The study found that all 15 Adlerian characteristics that were measured for were identified in this sample. Only one characteristic was reported by 100% of the participants-reliability. This study also attempted to clarify whether or not only children grew up with friends significantly older than themselves, have high educational levels, and have high aspirations pertaining to occupations. And whether or not female only children tend to marry people significantly older than themselves, have children at a later age, and have small families.

The purpose of this study was to assess the effectiveness of a 10 week positive perspective/highlight program developed specifically for elementary school children. Two intact classes of grade four children took part in the study, one experimental and one control. The experimental group participated in various games and activities designed to promote positive perspectives and help the children look for positive highlights in their daily lives. Significant positive effects were found in the experimental group with respect to increased frequencies of highlights, and positive feelings about self following the intervention program. Ten categories emerged from a qualitative analysis of over 2,000 highlights that children recorded in their logbooks: human contact, play/activity, contact with nature, tasting pleasures, accomplishments, discovery, entertainment, receiving/giving, positive anticipation, and relaxation.

This qualitative study attempted to identify similar life themes among 10 women who reported experiencing incest as children, whose ages ranged from 26-66 years. Adlerian Lifestyle Questionnaires were administered during individual interviews and judged by three expert Adlerian judges for common life themes. Similarities of life themes were found among the subjects' family atmospheres, birth order positions, relationship of perpetrator to study subjects, subjects' goals and expectations, subjects' apperceptions regarding themselves, others, men, women, the world, and life. A composite Lifestyle Summary of study subjects revealed women who wanted to be loved (40%), expected to be hurt (60%), and mistreated (50%); perceived themselves as inferior and sensitive (40%); men as untrustworthy (60%); the world as a place where they were unprotected (50%); and life as dangerous (70%) and confusing (60%).

McKeating, Rachel. "Video Interaction Guidance (VIG) : experiences of parents, Teaching Assistants, Educational Psychologists and children". Thesis, University College London (University of London), 2018. http://discovery.ucl.ac.uk/10054492/.

Resumo:
The present study examined the experiences of parents, Teaching Assistants (TAs), children and Educational Psychologists (EPs) who took part in or delivered Video Interaction Guidance (VIG). VIG is a relational intervention that uses video feedback to enhance the communication between two people. VIG is typically used by EPs to enhance the communication between a child and parent/TA. Previous literature has focused on the experiences of parents or EPs. This study uniquely included the experiences of children. This small scale qualitative study applied thematic analysis (Braun & Clarke, 2006) to explore the experiences of its participants. It used multiple case studies (N=6) which consisted of child, parent/TA and EP triads. Key findings of the study were that all participants reported having a positive affective experience of VIG. Links have been made between VIG and Containment theory (Bion, 1961) and crucially, children’s views were included in VIG to varying degrees; ranging from not included, included when judged as age appropriate and always included. The implications of this study are important for understanding how current legislation (SEND Code of Practice, 2015, United Nations, 2017) on including the views of children in all matters which affect them, is being interpreted and implemented. Implications for EPs are discussed on how to ensure children’s views are included in interventions concerning them.

Texto completo da fonte
Resumo:
The introduction of career guidance programmes in Singapore schools had tended to predominantly focus on secondary pupils. The lack of proactive career guidance programmes for the primary school had been due to the misguided belief that children in the primary school still have an extremely long way to go before they enter the workforce, and that their career development had not yet begun. Studies have shown that children have a natural tendency to form firm impressions of occupations early in life. This has resulted in their adopting certain occupations and discarding others before they have fully explored and understood the variety of occupations available. The need for young primary school children - as future entrants to the workforce -- to keep their occupational options open is paramount given the ever-changing landscape of the future work world.

Resumo:
In the era of continuous and profound integration of digital technology and daily learning life, a large number of children's digital learning products have emerged and been used by children. In the field of outdoor study and learning activities, the study manual is an important carrier to supplement the content of activities to assist children in learning, but the traditional paper manual design is not in-depth enough to study the needs of the target subject and its design method cannot meet the needs of the times, and cannot bring children experiential learning in the study and learning activities. In study and learning activities, digitalization guides children's behavior and immerses them in study and learning activities, which can stimulate their interest in learning and improve learning efficiency. For this reason, this paper explores the design of digital outdoor study manual for children's learning behavior guidance. Based on the theoretical perspective of behaviorism psychology, this paper analyzes the learning behavior psychology of children in study activities, summarizes the characteristics of their learning behavior, and designs the flow chart of children's learning methods and observation behavior process in study activities in combination with the relevant theories of behavioral design. Through the questionnaire data, we analyzed the influencing factors of children's willingness to use the digital outdoor study manual. Finally, we tried to build the design strategy of the digital outdoor study manual that actively guides children's learning behavior. Provide reference for the design of children's digital outdoor study manual, assist the implementation of outdoor study activities, and make contributions to the development of digital education.

We investigated how attachment styles between parents and children, as well as the coping styles taught by parents to their children, affect sensitivity to social exclusion using psychological assessments based on questionnaire surveys. Additionally, we examined whether differences in sensitivity to social distress could be detected as differences in activation sites in the brain using functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) measurements with the Cyberball Paradigm. The results suggested a potential correlation between children's own coping styles and their cognitive perception of parental guidance. However, no correlation was observed between parental guidance and children's cognition. Furthermore, in the group experiencing high levels of social distress, specific brain regions, the dorsomedial prefrontal cortex (DMPFC) and anterior prefrontal cortex (APFC), were significantly more active during the experience of social distress. Several activations in brain regions not previously reported in conventional research were also observed. These findings suggest that the way parents interact with their children and the content of parental education may have an impact on children's future sensitivity to social distress.

It presents the rationale for adopting certain teaching and learning strategies when supporting the learning and well-being of deaf children during global uncertainty. Children with deafness and hearing loss are particularly vulnerable now that schools are closed. They are isolated at home and unable to access information as easily as when they were attending school. This brief presents some of the practices that are reportedly working well for deaf children in different contexts.

The PREPARE (Promoting collaborative policies of inclusion relating to children of far right and Islamist parents in Western Europe) project aims to identify vulnerabilities and stigmas that children may face when their parents are involved in violent extremist (VE) networks, and how frontline practitioners can best address them through a collaborative approach centred on the needs of the child. It aims to support these children by supporting frontline practitioners working with these children and their families in six European countries (the Netherlands, Spain, France, Sweden, Germany and Kosovo) to develop a state-of-the-art Child Vulnerability and Intervention Tool and training modules for practitioners. Central to the PREPARE project is ensuring that human rights, the rule of law, and children’s rights remain at the forefront throughout the development and implementation of interventions and programmes aimed at supporting children of families with links to VE. This report thus aims to provide guidance for practitioners on how to support these children through a human rights- and rule of law-compliant approach, that centres on children’s needs, well-being, and long-term prospects, and helps mitigate the risks of stigmatisation, polarisation, and discrimination. This report starts by providing an overview of the rights of the child, as defined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), including the four general principles that should inform the implementation of all other rights, as well as any decisions and interventions affecting children, namely the non-discrimination principle, the best interests of the child, the child’s inherent right to life, survival and development, and the child’s right to express their views freely. It notably aims to inform practitioners on what these rights are, to what extent children raised in families with links with VE might see some of these rights infringed upon, as well as how they should inform their work. Finally, this report focuses on providing guidance on identified good practices to support children growing in families with links to VE, which include adopting victim-centred, individually-tailored, gender- and age- conscious approach, developing multidisciplinary and multi-actor programmes, and providing adequate training for practitioners. In addition, the report will further address some of the key challenges and practises to avoid in regards to the safeguarding the rights of children in families with links to VE. Practices to avoid notably include security-centred approaches, one-size-fits-all responses, practices causing re-traumatisation, lack of trust between children and implementers, lack of and/or inadequate training, and lack of long-term funding to ensure sustainable support for children having been exposed to VE environments.

Infographic: his brief explores why, when and how to engage children in the prevention, response and recovery stages. Drawing on published and grey literature, including project reports, and the authors’ extensive experience, it provides guidance to support the design and development of child-friendly communication and engagement strategies related to disease outbreaks. The brief covers efforts involving children and adolescents under 18 years and recommends three levels of participation. Organisations and practitioners can select a level based on organisational objectives, resources and readiness to engage with children.

This review looks at the available evidence on disability inclusion in early childhood development and education in humanitarian settings. It found that little evidence and guidance is available relating specifically to the inclusion of children with disabilities in early childhood education in humanitarian settings and there is a lack of extensive provision. However, some guidance exists and the review presents a number of case studies of disability inclusion in early childhood development and education in humanitarian settings.

Review question / Objective: Efficacy and Safety of Pediatric TuiNa for Tourette Syndrome: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of randomized controlled trials. Condition being studied: Tourette syndrome (TS) is a common psychological, behavioural and neuropsychiatric disorder characterized by chronic, fluctuating, multiple muscle convulsions, or accompanied by involuntary laryngeal abnormalities and indecent language. It mainly appears in childhood. At present, Tourette syndrome generally has a long course of the disease and is difficult to cure, which seriously affects the children's learning and physical and mental health, and also causes panic and anxiety to many parents. The incidence of Tourette syndrome was increasing year by year. Clinical studies found that only relying on Western medicine for treatment was easy to have recurrent symptoms and serious adverse reactions. Traditional Chinese medicine has great advantages in the treatment of Tourette syndrome, especially in children's massage, because it has no side effects and is more likely to be favoured by parents. To provide a better basis and guidance for clinical treatment by Meta-analysis of the literature on tuina treatment of Tourette syndrome in children.

Families in Canada, like those in other high-income countries, have undergone major changes in recentdecades. Women are having fewer children and are less likely to get married, resulting in smaller familyhouseholds and a growing proportion of children being raised by single or cohabiting parents. Divorcerates are declining, indicating that couples who do marry are more likely to stay married. Decisionsabout whether and when to marry or to have children are strongly influenced by ever-changingsocioeconomic factors and cultural values. Certain groups, including immigrants, visible minorities, and Indigenous peoples, follow distinctive patterns of family formation. Geography also shapesfamilies. Quebec and Nunavut stand out with very high cohabitation rates, and fertility is roughly 50% higher in rural than in urban Canada. These profound changes and striking variations have critical implications for the wellbeing of children and their families. Understanding these changes and the diversity in family patterns offers important guidance for developing tailored and effectivesocial policies regarding family, health, education, and housing.

Rost, Lucia, Amber Parkes e Andrea Azevedo. Measuring and Understanding Unpaid Care and Domestic Work: Household Care Survey Toolkit. Oxfam, outubro de 2020. http://dx.doi.org/10.21201/2020.6775.

Resumo:
This toolkit provides guidance on using Oxfam’s Household Care Survey (HCS) methodology, which was developed by Oxfam as part of the WE-Care initiative to transform the provision of unpaid care and domestic work (UCDW). UCDW underpins all our lives yet is overwhelmingly provided by women and girls. Recognising UCDW is essential for any initiative that aims to understand and address gender inequality. The HCS is a quantitative survey tool that generates context-specific evidence on how women, men and children spend their time, how care is provided, by whom, and the main factors that affect people’s responsibilities for UCDW, such as access to care services, infrastructure and social norms. The HCS can be used to generate a baseline, or to measure the impact of a specific policy or programme. The methodology can be integrated into different projects with different objectives and adjusted for use in various contexts. The HCS toolkit is designed to be used by development practitioners, policy makers, employers, academics and researchers. Part A provides guidance for planning, collecting, analysing and using HCS data. Part B provides guidance for understanding, adjusting and using the HCS questions. Both sections should be read before undertaking the survey.

his Rapid Review is an attempt to instigate a broader discussion on child labour by considering the various dimensions and angles associated with the phenomenon beyond the straitjacket definitions provided in most reports. Its objectives are threefold. First, it aims to determine whether re-analysis of existing data sets is likely to yield new insights into the forms, prevalence and drivers of children’s work in agriculture in Ghana. Second, it aims to provide specific guidance on how these re-analyses might be undertaken and framed. And third, it aims to determine whether any of the available data sets might be used to map the number or density of children to the main agro-ecological zones or agricultural systems. In doing this, the review describes the nature of child work in the agricultural sector, highlighting areas that have often been ignored in the literature. The conclusion offers suggestions for future research on child labour based on our renewed understanding of the broad concept of child work.

We evaluate the effects of a 10-week intervention that randomly provided access to remote coaching to parents of preschool children over the summer break in Peru. In response to learning losses during COVID-19 induced school closures, education coaches offered guidance and encouragement to parents in activities aimed to accelerate the development of core mathematical skills. We find that the intervention improved mathematics cognitive outcomes by 0.12 standard deviations. Moreover, we show that remote coaches increase the likelihood and frequency of parental engagement in mathematics-related activities, suggesting that learning gains are driven by higher parental involvement in child skill development.
