Resumo:

Learning in groups is a common feature of science classrooms. The three articles I have chosen to feature in this installment of Current Insights reflect recent research of group learning at different scales. The first examines within-group dynamics, identifying interactions among students that allow scientific sense-making discussions to begin and continue. The second proposes to study groups as the unit of analysis, asking why some groups are able to persevere in the face of challenging problems. The third considers the potential for learning to occur between groups, through connections in students’ extended social networks. Each brings new ideas and questions to the study of group learning.

Methods. The results were obtained through the use of the following methods: theorization - when formulating research hypotheses and describing the results of their practical compliance with behavioral and situational theories of leadership, questionnaires – when assessing the attitude of respondents both to their own ability to be a leader and to important leadership qualities from their point of view; analysis – when determining the correspondence of the obtained results of the questionnaire of respondents to the formulated scientific hypothesis; synthesis – when summarizing research results and evaluating the impact of leadership on group dynamics within the organization. Results. The hypothesis about the readiness of people to take on responsibility and the role of a leader was confirmed. It was found that the leader's communication skills and public speaking skills are just as important for his followers as his willingness to demonstrate their personal behavior of commitment to the practical achievement of common goals. The hypothesis about the determining role of common values for the recognition of the leader by his followers was not confirmed. The assumption that the most important characteristic of a leader is the vision of the future was not confirmed. Novelty. In the course of study, it was found that the majority of respondents have a democratic style of leadership, namely a consultative one. It was determined that the leader's perception is largely determined by external manifestations of behavior, in particular, oratory skills, the ability to listen to people, a confident appearance and other behavioral patterns that demonstrate the leader's willingness to serve the common interests of the group. Practical value. Since leaders to the greatest extent determine group dynamics within organizations, influencing the formation, development and decline of formal and informal groups, it is necessary to take into account the risks of followers’ losing the ability to think critically and objectively evaluate leaders’ actions.

This study aims to find out : (1) the dynamics of farmer groups in Netpala Village, North Mollo District, South Central Timor District, (2) the constraints faced by farmer group members in applying the dynamics of farmer group elements in Netpala Village, North Mollo Subdistrict South Central Timor District. The research method used is a survey method. The location of the sample was determined by purposive sampling in the village of Netpala. The research population is all farmers who are members of farmer groups in Netpala Village, and the sample of farmer was taken proportionate random sampling from 110 farmers from five farmer groups, therefor obtained 52 farmers. The analysis used in this study was a qualitative descriptive analysis and a Likert scale. The results showed the majority of respondents in productive age were 46 (88.46%) of formal education was low 22 (44.23%), non-formal education was classified as high where there were 44 (84.61%). The average dynamics level of the eight elements of farmer group dynamics in the Netpala village is dynamic (69%), the dynamics level of group goals is quite dynamic (62%), group structure is dynamic (88%), the structure of task functions is dynamic (100%) %), the structure of group development and group development is dynamic (67%), the compact group structure is dynamic (85%), the structure of the group atmosphere has the same score (50%), the pressure structure of the group is quite dynamic (44%), the structure group effectiveness is classified as dynamic (100%). Constraints faced with the eight elements of group dynamics, group goals (61%), group structure (11%), coaching and group development (30%), group cohesiveness (15%), group atmosphere (50%), group pressure (55%), group effectiveness (0%) or no feedback.

Resumo:

This research aims to identify the dynamics of Maesaan Waya Agriculture group which was studied by group dynamics elements namely the purpose of the group, the structure of the group, the building and the developing of the group, the unity of the group and the effectivity of the group. This research was conducted from October 2016 to April 2017 on Maesaan Waya Agriculture group in Manembo Village, South Langowan Subdistrict. The collecting of the data included primary and secondary data. Primary data was collected by direct interview using questionnaire with agriculture group members who were become respondents. The total number of respondents in this research is 20 respondents. The secondary data were collected from research-related literatures. Descriptive analysing was the method in data analyzing. The result of this research shows that the dynamics of Maesaan Waya agriculture group is categorized as dynamic with 80% valuation percentage. This is because the elements of group dynamics in Maesaan Waya agriculture group run well. Even though the elements of group dynamics run well, there was 20% dynamics elements categorized as less-dynamic.

This research is to describe the dynamics of the Mekar Farmer Group in Field Village, Mapanget District, Manado City, which is studied from the elements of group dynamics. This research was carried out for three months from August to October 2022. The sampling technique was for all members of the Mekar farmer group as many as 10 respondents. The research uses primary data obtained directly from respondents through interviews based on a list of questions and questionnaires that have been prepared. Secondary data was obtained from books, literature, or articles as well as agencies/institutions of the Agriculture, Maritime and Fisheries Services. The analytical method used in this research is a quantitative method. The results showed that the dynamics of the Mekar Farmers group in the Field Village, Mapanget District, Manado City was categorized as dynamic, with elements of group dynamics obtaining a score of 880 with a percentage of 73.3% being categorized as dynamic. But in each of the elements there are still those that are less dynamic, namely the elements of group objectives and group functions. Because of that, each of the elements must be improved again, such as group goals and group functions

In this work, we study a continuous opinion dynamics model considering 3-agent interactions and group pressure. Agents interact in a fully-connected population, and two parameters govern the dynamics: the agents’ convictions [Formula: see text] that are homogeneous in the population, and the group pressure [Formula: see text]. Stochastic parameters also drive the interactions. Our analytical and numerical results indicate that the model undergoes symmetry-breaking transitions at distinct critical points [Formula: see text] for any value of [Formula: see text], i.e. the transition can be suppressed for sufficiently high group pressure. Such transition separates two phases: for any [Formula: see text], the order parameter [Formula: see text] is identically null ([Formula: see text], a symmetric, absorbing phase), while for [Formula: see text], we have [Formula: see text], i.e. a symmetry-broken phase (ferromagnetic). The numerical simulations also reveal that the increase of group pressure leads to a wider distribution of opinions, decreasing the extremism in the population.

The purposes of study were to describe : the characteristics of Anunto’s fish farmer members, the perceptions toward IMTA’s models, the role of extension officer, group dynamics and analyze the correlation of all variables.The sampling method applied was census method taken 28 respondents. The data process was based on Spearman rank correlation test and presented descriptively. The results showed that members of Anunto group of fish farmers were dominated by productive ages, middle level on formal education, low level on non formal education, low level on experiences about aquaculture business, primary income sources were not related to fisheries. Group member perceptions toward IMTA characteristics were in the medium level consisting indicators of compatibility, complexity, triability and observability, while the indicator of relative advantage was high.The influence of extension officer in developing the group dynamics were high as facilitators and educators, while the influence as advocator was in medium level. Statistical analysis showed that group dynamic characteristic variables on indicators : aquaculture’s experience, joining group’s experience and primary income source were correlated toward the group dynamic variables on indicator : group’s purpose, group’s structure, group’s cohesiveness, groups’s task function and hidden agenda. The variable of member perception of technology on indicators: complexity and trialibility were correlated toward the group dynamic’s variable on indicator: group’s purpose and groups’s task function. The variable of extension officer’s influence on indicator:: advocator was correlated toward the group dynamic’s variable on indicator : group’s atmosphere.

Colombian entrepreneurs’ straggling, reactionary and inertial orientation has been inconsistently justified by the availability of internal and leveraged resources, a concept intensifying deficient technological capacity. Company activity (seen as being a socioeconomic unit) has been integrally orientated within an evolutionary framework by company identity and cohesion as well as adaptation and evolutionary mechanisms. The present document uses a group dynamics’ model to illustrate how knowledge-based strategic orientation and integration for innovation have become an imperative for development, from slight leverage, distinguishing between two evolutionary company forms: traditional economic (inertial, as they introduce sporadic incremental improvements) and modern companies (dynamic and radical innovators). Revealing conclusions obtained from such model may be used for intervening in and modernising company activity.

The purpose of the article is to present the first results of application of group dynamics methods in the Irkutsk regional library network as a tool for developing libraries personnel potential. In September 2021, a group of specialists of the Irkutsk Regional State Library – representatives of the administration, the scientificmethodological department, the department of cultural programs and the user service department – united into a core group, which started working on methods of group dynamics. The group identified a range of problems of libraries in the Irkutsk region, set goals and tasks for the development of the regional library and the library network of the Irkutsk region, formulated the mission of its activities, created the image of the future of the regional library network, and developed a roadmap for achieving this image of the future. The group expects to work for three years. Having mastered the methods of group dynamics in the ontological school version of “T-System” company and developed shared goals, values and rules, the group members define their functional areas and then form the «group of groups»: specialists from the Irkutsk Regional State Library or from the network of regional libraries and together continue the transformation of the library network. The first results of the group work have been obtained: methods of group dynamics allows to settle to solve complex collective tasks, to create projects of higher quality and degree of elaboration, to hold high-quality operational meetings with a large number of discussed issues. The work on implementing methods of group dynamics into the library network of the Irkutsk region as the instrument of developing the library stuff potential will be continued.

Group dynamics is a process and interaction that aims to improve the achievement of the group’s goals. This study aimed to assess the level of farmer group dynamics in Gendayakan Village, Paranggupito Sub-district, Wonogiri Regency. The basic research method used in this research is quantitative with survey techniques. The research location was selected purposively in Gendayakan Village, Panggupito Sub-district, Wonogiri Regency. Sampling using a proportional random sampling technique by taking 63 farmer group members as respondents. Descriptive analysis to provide an overview of the level of farmer group dynamics was carried out using an ordinal scale as a reference for measuring the level of group dynamics. The results of this study indicated that the level of farmer group dynamics in Gendayakan Village is classified in the moderately dynamic category, indicating that the elements of farmer group dynamics in Gendayakan Village are quite well run. However, it is expected to maintain group dynamics and interaction between fellow members and carry out group activities to achieve group goals.

The conductor’s identity as a group member, allied with the potential for the unconscious co-creation of anti-group forces is the centre-stage for the debate I herewith present. This is inextricable from, and central to, the complex inter-subjective group matrix. The conductor’s counter-transference as an inter-subjective group experience, lends powerful insights into feelings of hate in the group, and its resultant anti-group dynamics. How hate may be understood as a shared, co-created experience is examined. The conductor’s potential for narcissistic over-identification with the group and possible lack of containment, is explored, including the potential for anti-group contributions. The myth of Pygmalion illustrates the frustration encountered when the container fails to meet one’s needs. Suggestions are offered regarding the importance for conductors to work through potential contributions of anti-group forces and their own hate of the group.1

Women continue to be underrepresented in leadership positions within sport. As the number of women entering sport increases, a growing number of professionals recognize the inherent benefits of the mentoring relationship across a range of professional settings including sport (Bower, Hums, & Keedy, 2006; Grappendorf, Burton, & Lilienthal, 2007). Unfortunately, mentors are not always a viable option for women wanting to advance within leadership positions in sport. A primary reason for limited opportunities is the shortage of female in leadership positions within sport organizations creating a dearth of potential female mentors (Weaver & Chelladurai, 2002). Therefore, this paper explored the dynamics of the mentoring relationship between one professional organization (NAGWS) and potential career outcomes for women in sport. Specifically, how does NAGWS use group mentoring initiatives for girls and women in sport which may lead to potential advancement opportunities?’

To remain competitive and cope with the ever-increasing complexity of the global economy and the changing work environment, particularly as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, institutions and businesses rely on teams that are adaptable and constantly learning. Intragroup dynamics are a major factor influencing team performance. Therefore, the formation of a high degree of readiness of students for effective team interaction is one of the tasks of modern higher education. Based on the results of an analysis of scientific publications, it was determined that there is no fixed algorithm for improving intragroup dynamics: it depends on the complexity of the tasks, the method of team building, the maturity of the team, the availability of tools, technical and technological support. A pedagogical experiment conducted at the he National University of Life and Environmental Sciences (NULES) of Ukraine as part of teaching the discipline “Group Dynamics and Communications” is the basis for determining the potential of using Notion as a tool for supporting group dynamics of self-organizing teams in the process of implementing educational projects. The article provides an example of using Notion to manage an educational project and monitor group dynamics according to B. Tuckman's team development model, as well as the results of an expert evaluation confirming the effectiveness of using this tool to support team interaction. The development of a methodology for using Notion to support various types of student learning activities is considered an area for further research.

The main objective of this study was to determine the extent of utilizing group dynamics as an effective strategy in teaching Araling Panlipunan. The respondents of the study were the entire three hundred twenty (320) teachers of the above-mentioned district. The data gathering instrument used in this study was the questionnaire which was composed of assessment checklist. The data gathered were tabulated, analyzed and interpreted using Frequency Counts and Percentage, Weighted Mean, Standard Deviation and coefficient of correlation. The results of the study were as follows: the respondents utilized the group dynamics as an effective strategy in teaching ‘to a great extent’ in terms of concept mapping, group discussion, dramatization, problem-solving, peer-tutoring, role playing/assimilation group reporting, project making, tableau interpretation and topic analysis. They were also assessed ‘to a Great Extent’ that includes the attitudes of the pupils affected by the group dynamics strategies in terms of cognitive, affective, behavioral and social. The challenges met by the teachers was done by using group dynamics as strategy in teaching Araling Panlipunan were also assessed “to a great extent’. There was significant relationship between group dynamic strategies employed and the extent of pupils attitude. There was also significant relationship between group dynamics strategies employed and the challenges experienced on it. There is a significant relationship between the extent of the pupils attitude and the challenges experienced on it.

Resumo:

Group Dynamics are powers, movements, or changes which occur within a group and influence its members in achieving their purposes. This research aims to determine the group dynamics of Village Forest Farmers Community at Labbo Village, Tompobulu Sub-District, Bantaeng District. The research was conducted in Labbo Village, Tompobulu District, Bantaeng. The data collection process was conducted by using qualitative approach that describes circumstances or events regarding humans’ states or behaviors in particular places in a deep and detail manner. Data collection process was done by interviewing 15 samples that were chosen by purposive sampling. The results of these interviews would be then analyzed by using descriptive analysis. Based on the 8 group dynamics elements, the research found that the group dynamics of Bontomarannu Village Forest Farmers Community, could be categorized as dynamic

Resumo:

Water management is the success key to successful farming in swampland. The existence of water management institutions such as the Water Users Asociation (WUA) in swampland generally has not been independent. To determine the performance of group dynamics and its relation to the level of leadership behavior of the group leader and effectiveness of WUA groups in lowland swamp, then research carried out with survey method in 2013. Sample groups are purposively determined as many as 8 units WUA group comprising: 4 (four) P3A groups in Hulu Sungai Selatan and 4 units in the district Hulu Sungai Utara on South Kalimantan Province. Samples farmers randomly selected 120 people. Primary data were collected through interviews using structured questionnaire. Data were analyzed descriptively and using Spearman's Rank correlation analysis. The results showed WUA group dynamics, leadership behavior of WUA group and effectiveness of WUA group in medium category. The good of WUA group leadership behaviors can improve group dynamics, further, the dynamic group WUA increase the effectiveness of the group. The increase in group dynamics can be done through guidance on the creation of an atmosphere conducive group, reducing the pressure groups, the development and maintenance of the group and to improve the function of the task WUA group.

Purpose Based on an experience, the paper aims to describe how group dynamics can play out in a traditional classroom setting and reflect on how the author worked with these dynamics from a systems psychodynamic perspective. Design/methodology/approach The experience involved teaching a two-day module on group dynamics to a class of 35 mature students enrolled in a business school. The author tried to create a space to understand and work with here-and-now dynamics as the module progressed. Findings Frustration grew among the students regarding the time spent on discussion and reflection. The group was split in two, with one subgroup opening up to experiencing and reflecting on the dynamics, whereas the other subgroup grew more frustrated and demanded that the author take up his authority. Apart from attempting to work with the dynamics, the author introduced relevant concepts and theories that could help to understand the dynamics. The group was characterized by an emotional climate of dependency while students projected hitherto unexplored frustrations onto the lecturer. Although the conditions for experiential learning were far from optimal, the group did experience group dynamics and did engage in reviewing their experiences. Learning did take place, although the depth varied among individuals. Originality/value Reflections are provided on the (im)possibilities of learning about group dynamics at business schools. Suggestions are given how to create conditions for experiential learning in management education.

The dynamics of a group can be used as one of the indicators of interaction dynamics (group relations), both internal and external, in a group to achieve the group’s goal. This study aimed at investigating the dynamics level of “SuksesMandiri” fishery processing group in the fisheries processing business in Keledang Mas Baru housing community, Samarinda Seberang sub-district, Samarinda City. All series of this study was conducted for 6 months starting from February to July 2020, and it was located in Samarinda Seberang sub-district, Samarinda City. The sample was taken based on the census method that all population members (fishery processing group) with five (5) people in total were included as the respondents. Data collection was done by doing observation and conducting an interview using a questionnaire. To measure the dynamics level of the fishery processing group, the data were processed using a Likert scale. It was done by giving a score for each respondent’s answer. The highest score was 3 and the lowest score was 1. The result showed that the dynamics level of “Sukses Mandiri” fishery processing group in the fisheries processing business in Keledang Mas Baru housing community, Samarinda Seberang sub-district, Samarinda City was in the high category (dynamic) with a score of 78.8 at a range of 71 - 90. Development based on groups becomes a participatory development approach pattern by involving the community directly through groups. This research aims: (1)To find out and analyze the characteristics of the members of BKM, National Slum Upgrading Program ( Program Kotaku ) in Padang city, (2)To find out and analyze the level of dynamics and independence of the BKM, National Slum Upgrading Program / Program Kotaku in Padang city and (3)To find out and analyze how much influence the characteristics of members and the level of dynamics on the independence of the BKM group in the KOTAKU Program in Padang City. This research was conducted using a quantitative approach. The data collection technique was carried out by distributing questionnaires offline to the BKM members in Padang City. Data management using SPSS version 24 by linear regretion analysis. The results of the study prove the majority of BKM members in the city of Padang are women aged between 46-65 years with an average education level of high school, the characteristics partially have no effect on the independence of the BKM group, the dynamics of the BKM group partially have a significant influence on the independence of the BKM. Both of characteristics and group dynamics have a positive and significant influence on the independence of the BKM group. The results also confirm that the level of group dynamics and group independence in Padang City is in the medium category, therefore strategic efforts need to be improved. The suggestions are: 1. Efforts are needed to increase the dynamics of the BKM group in Padang City, 2. In the future, it is hoped that young/productive generations will emerge to join BKM members to be more productive and more dynamic, because the more dynamic a group is, the more independent the group will be. This research is expected to provide input for the BKM group as well as for community empowerment program stakeholders, especially the KOTAKU Program, Directorate General of Human Settlements, Ministry of PUPR.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to introduce the concept of work group diversity dynamics as a novel approach for studying diverse work groups. The authors profile the dynamic processes within diverse work-groups and provide an overview of main objectives. Design/methodology/approach The paper draws on years of accumulated diversity research to cast a temporal and dynamic lens on the processes taking place within diverse work groups. After outlining the state of the art in work group diversity research, the definition, overall framework and profile of work group diversity dynamics is offered. Findings The paper argues that by adopting a temporal and dynamic perspective for studying diverse work groups, one can shift focus from the traditional perspective of “what is diversity” to “what happens within diverse work groups”. The paper disentangles the activities taking place within diverse work groups, defines the actual team processes and finally highlights how these processes might be affected by time and dynamism. Originality/value After almost 30 years of diversity research the mechanisms and processes through which diversity is translated into individual and organizational outcomes are not yet sufficiently understood and studied. This paper highlights a temporal and dynamic perspective for studying work group diversity, a view that is yet uncharted in diversity literature.

The importance of the role of agricultural extension workers is carried out to bring up human resources in Tanjung Medan District so that they are able and willing to move dynamically to manage and develop farming activities in order to create prosperity. The large number of passive farmer groups is a problem in today's agricultural institutions. Therefore, quality improvement in agricultural activities will be supported and created if farmer groups and extension workers work together to achieve common goals. This research was conducted to determine the level of the instructor's role, the level of group dynamics and the influence of the instructor's role on group dynamics. This study used a survey method with 114 farmers as respondents who were selected by cluster sampling. Data were analyzed using a Likert scale and SEM test using Amos 24. Agricultural extension workers had carried out their role very well because they were in the very high category, namely the role of extension workers as facilitators, innovators, motivators, dynamists, educators, and consultants. The dynamics of farmer groups are classified as very dynamic because they are in a very high category, namely group objectives, group structure, group functions, group coaching and development, group cohesiveness, group atmosphere and group effectiveness. Then the role of agricultural extension agents has a significant effect on the dynamics of farmer groups, which means that the increasing role of agricultural extension agents will increase the dynamics of farmer groups in Tanjung Medan Sub District.

Groups are not simple task-solving machines, they are complex entities that have a specific dynamic depending on the features of the members that compose them. The multiple interactions based on various emerging or contextual constructs form a system that can produce multiple benefits as long as it works efficiently and positively affects members. This paper explores representative research that has provided evidence related to specific group processes that lead to several outcomes (e.g., task performance, group conflict). The main factors described in this theoretical review are group atmosphere, familiarity between members, group conflict (task, relational, and process), member satisfaction, minority influence, and the composition of the personality of the group members. The conclusion highlights the challenges of studying group dynamics and the relevant factors that can maximize the success in group functioning.

The aim of this article was to analyse the complexity of successions and, counter-acting destructive group dynamics, to present a strategy model. An in-depth case study of several successions within the same organisation was used. Several Chair of board and CEO successions would restore and develop the trust of employees and stakeholders. By executing effective succession processes, a governance structure creates legitimacy and trust. The research identified different “doings”, called praxes, that objectified (Bollas, 1999) the succession dynamics. The more active and less habitual, the more effective was the execution of the strategy praxes. A longitudinal action research project included participative bottom-up processes, facilitative processes, coaching, observations of the board, interviews, and archive data.

AbstractThis paper describes the emergence of complexity as duplicated evolutionary process. The first procedural source of complexity is the quantum jump of the evolution of the human species when it started to maintain certain brain-internal models of its environment. The second—parallel—procedural origin is the evolution of a communication structure, a language, with which an already existing group of primates could frame their internal models. In contrast to definitions of complexity which use the concept in the context of theoretical physics, this approach reveals some perplexing properties of model building for a special subject of investigation, namely the human species. All adequate models of political economy (economics is just the sub-discipline that freezes political dynamics) have to be complex. Since today’s mainstream economic theory lends its formal apparatus from the mathematics of Newtonian physics, it misses the most essential features characterizing human social dynamics, i.e. its complexity. On the other hand, a formal definition of complexity by mathematicians, e.g. the one provided by Princeton Companion to Mathematics, sometimes falls short of the inspirations gained by closely observing biological systems. What is needed thus is transdisciplinary research. The first part of the paper takes Erwin Schrödinger’s book ‘What is Life?’ as a starting point for this issue. In this part, several—sometimes highly speculative—suggestions on how to proceed are presented. The following second part then identifies two central obstacles that turn out to be overcome: First, scientific research in this field always has to come up with a synthesis that states what is essential. A wealth of singular islands of knowledge isolated in their domains is unsatisfactory. Second, the modelling of political economy dynamics as a complex system has to be rooted in an understanding of how living systems in their deepest structure work. The daring hypothesis put forward is that such an understanding can be enabled by letting quantum theoretic reasoning revolutionize the formal language of the social sciences.

AbstractOur knowledge of the dynamics and masses of galaxies in the Local Group has long been limited by the fact that only line-of-sight velocities were observationally accessible. This introduces significant degeneracies in dynamical models, which can only be resolved by measuring also the velocity components perpendicular to the line of sight. However, beyond the solar neighborhood, the corresponding proper motions have generally been too small to measure. This has changed dramatically over the past decade, especially due to the angular resolution and stability available on the Hubble Space Telescope. Proper motions can now be reliably measured throughout the Local Group, as illustrated by, e.g., the work of the HSTPROMO collaboration. In this review, I summarize the importance of proper motions for Local Group science, and I describe the current and future observational approaches and facilities available to measure proper motions. I highlight recent results on various Milky Way populations (globular clusters, the bulge, the metal-poor halo, hypervelocity stars, and tidal streams), dwarf satellite galaxies, the Magellanic Clouds and the Andromeda System.

After a brief review of integrative small group learning models that have appeared in the educational psychology literature, this article then looks into the group dynamics literature and describes one of that field’s most well-documented findings: that interactions among group members change somewhat predictably over time. How theorists from various traditions within educational psychology might explain and explore the phenomenon of “group development” is proposed, followed by a description of the theoretical and practical features of an increasingly popular post-secondary instructional strategy designed to stimulate group development and leverage it to instructional ends. So group dynamics can be called as a life base of a team. So in this study the researcher has conducted a study on various aspects of group dynamics. The researcher has collected data using collection techniques and has used various tools to analyze the outcomes to get considerable results.

Group marketing uses the psychological mechanisms underlying group influence to drive customer behaviors that are beneficial to the firm. It is predicated on the firm's ability to guide two necessary and sufficient conditions: (1) a customer's awareness of an affiliation with the focal group and (2) exposure to group norms. By examining what it means to be affiliated with a group; determining how group norms are inferred, applied, and maintained; and testing a wide variety of ways in which these conditions become manifest, this research demonstrates the theoretical foundations of group marketing. Groups influence purchase behaviors by altering information and identity appraisals during decision making. Time in a purchase domain emerges as a critical determinant of the strength of group influence. Although previous research has suggested that social influence diminishes over time, a longitudinal field study and an experiment reveal that this prediction holds only when information appraisal dominates; an opposite effect arises when identity appraisal dominates. Group efficacy strengthens, but product price weakens, the effects of groups on purchase behaviors.

The usefulness of group social skills training in Autism Spectrum Disorder therapy has been well established. However, little is known about the group dynamics of this kind of intervention. The current multiple case studies were conducted to demonstrate that, despite of the functioning specifics of participants with ASD, processes associated with the dynamics of the group during group social skills training session may be noticeable. Intervention groups consisted of fifteen adolescents and preadolescents with high functioning Autism Spectrum Disorders aged between 11 to 17 years old divided into three training groups. The social skills training sessions were conducted on a weekly basis. The observation lasted for six months and it included the formation of the group, the period of stability and unexpected changes. After each group session, the therapists filled in a detailed report about the participants’ behavior and interactions between participants. Collected data were carefully analyzed for group dynamic features. It was noticed that adolescents participating in group interventions are susceptible to the influence of the group, take different individual roles and are moderately sensitive to changes in the group structure. The influence of the disorder characteristics on group dynamics was also observed. Although the results show that group dynamics can be observed at a group training for ASD, the need for further structured observation should be emphasized as a current study constituted the first approach to the subject. Preliminary study: Benefits and challenges for participants beyond social skills obtaining are discussed. This article reports qualitative analysis of data collected during psychoanalytically orientated group sessions after the death of members. This group, based in group analytic and existentialist theoretical perspectives, is for women with advanced breast cancer. We ask: how and why does the group keep going, even as its members leave it through death? Our interest in understanding the therapeutic factors generated by the co-therapists, group members, and the group as a whole is assisted by Winnicott (1956, 1960) and Bion's (1959) concepts of holding and containment. These concepts are used to examine the therapists' role—containers for creating a thinking space where unknowable and unthinkable thoughts can be transformed into something bearable and creative.

This research aimed to assess dynamics level of the members of the Harapan Makmur farmers' group in the village of Tuatuka, East Kupang District, Kupang Regency and the relationship between socio-economic factors (age, formal education, non-formal education, number of family- dependent people, income, agricultural experience) with the dynamics level of farmer group members of Harapan Makmur Tuatuka Sub-District, East Kupang District, Kupang Regency. This research used the case study method. The sample used is all farmers who are members of prosperous farmer groups of 35 respondents. Analysis of the data used in this research used a Likert scale and the Sperman rank correlation test (rs). The results showed that the age of majority respondents was classified as productive (85.70%), formal education was classified as low (60.00%), non-formal education was classified as high (91.43%), the number of dependent persons was quite high (62.86)%), long experience in agriculture (37.14%) and agricultural income wass quite high (88.58%). The dynamic level of the members of Harapan Makmur farmer group in Tuatuka subdistrict, East Kupang district, Kupang Regency was in the dynamic category (68.0%). ), The results of the analysis (rs) showed that socio- economic factors (age, formal education, non-formal education, number of family members, income,agricultural experience) that were related to the dynamics of the farmer group members were non- formal education. While other socio-economic factors had no real connection with the dynamics of Harapan Makmur farmer group in the village of Tuatuka, East Kupang District, Kupang Regency.

Resumo:

The presented work opens a series of articles on the economic and political aspects of the development of the BRICS countries. This article discusses the current trends in the development of the BRICS countries, which began to form even before the current geopolitical crisis. Particular attention in the framework of the present study was paid to the periodization of the events that took place in the period under study and their relationship with the dynamics of macroeconomic indicators of the BRICS countries under study, among which, in the framework of this work, the following were considered in most detail: GDP of the BRICS countries and related indicators, in particular, share of BRICS in world GDP; the share of each country in the total BRICS GDP; dynamics of foreign trade of the BRICS countries; the given indicators of the population of the BRICS countries. Of interest is the hypothesis proposed in this paper, according to which the BRICS, which is a political union, may also have signs of an economic association, which, under certain conditions, can become an economic union in the future, which is the highest form of economic integration, which includes the signs of a customs union (cancellation customs duties in trade), common market (free movement of capital and persons), monetary union (unifi cation of fiscal and monetary policy). To substantiate the legitimacy of the indicated hypothesis, within the framework of the presented work, the indicators indicated above are considered, which make it possible to describe the economic characteristics of the presented association in a dynamic setting, which will also make it possible to analyze cross-country relationships in terms of their economic component.
