William Godwin publie en 1793 la première édition de "An Enquiry Concerning Political Justice" considéré comme la première espression philosophique de l'anarchisme politique. Il s'appuie sur l'utilitarisme anglais et la philosophie des Lumières. Enthousiasmé par la Révolution française, il s'oppose au jacobinisme et à l'idée même de révolution dans laquelle il voit une contrainte hostile au libre développement de la raison. Les institutions politiques ne doivent pas s'opposer, par une influence "positive", à cette seule possibilité d'amélioration graduelle et irréversible. Si ces positions radicales se nuancent au fil des années d'une importance grandissante accordée aux émotions et aux sentiments, Godwin demeure cependant ferme dans sa condamnation de la domination du gouvernement. Cette condamnation l'amène naturellement à rejeter fondamentalement le châtiment infligé par un système judiciaire et la répartition inégale de la propriété qui favorise le maintien de fausse valeurs sociales et privé ceux qui en sont démunis de la possibilité de s'exercer à la recherche de la vérité. Après une biographie de Godwin et une analyse de ses principales oeuvres, ce travail s'attache à situer la pensée de l'auteur parmi les courants de la philosophie politique. On trouve chez cet auteur un fil conducteur qu'on rencontrera plus tard, et jusqu'à aujourd'hui, chez les principaux penseurs de l'anarchisme. On pose l'hypothèse que l'anarchisme est une théorie politique cohérente qui propose une alternative à la philosophie de l'Etat, ou tout au moins est susceptible de lui poser des questions pertinentes. Le 2ème volume est composé d'une traduction originale des principaux passages de l'"Enquiry", ainsi que de plusieurs extraits d'oeuvres ultérieures de Godwin jusque là négligées, mais qui représentent un approfondissement important de la pensée de l'auteur dans sa réflexion sur la place de la liberté et dans sa critique des fondements de la religion.

Syfte och frågeställning Syftet med uppsatsen är att ta reda på om eleverna som har ett godkänt betyg i idrott och hälsa från grundskolan kan simma när de kommer upp på gymnasiet. Frågeställningarna har varit följande: Hur många elever upplever att de kan simma? Hur många av dem kan simma? Finns det något samband mellan kön, bakgrund och etnicitet och elever som inte är simkunniga? Metod Undersökningen gjordes på 213 elever på en gymnasieskola. Elevernas betyg från grundskolan togs fram från gymnasieantagningen. Eleverna fick besvara en enkät huruvida de kunde simma eller inte. Vidare genomfördes en observation när eleverna simmade. Därefter sammanställdes, jämfördes och analyserades resultaten. Resultat Enkäten visade att 94 procent av eleverna ansåg sig vara simkunniga. Av skolans 213 elever besvarade 206 elever enkäten och 13 av dessa elever svarade att de inte kunde simma. Åtta av de icke simkunniga eleverna hade ett godkänt betyg från grundskolan. Observationerna visade att 88 procent av eleverna var simkunniga. Totalt kunde 178 elever observeras, 22 av dessa kunde inte simma. Av dessa 22 elever hade 17 ett godkänt betyg i idrott och hälsa från grundskolan. Sambandet mellan de elever som inte kunde simma var att samtliga var pojkar och att majoriteten av dessa elever inte var uppvuxna var uppvuxna och hade gått stora delar av grundskolan i något annat land. Slutsats Utifrån observationerna framkom att 17 av 22 elever hade fått ett godkänt betyg men var inte vara simkunniga. Åtta av 13 elever som angett att de inte var simkunniga i enkäten hade ett godkänt betyg. Det innebär att bedömningen av kunskapskraven ser olika ut på grundskolorna, men framför allt att lärare har satt godkända betyg trots att eleverna inte kan simma. I enkäten svarade 94 procent att de var simkunniga, vilket är liknande siffror som Skolverket presenterat i sina rapporter. Majoriteten (63 %) av de icke simkunniga var uppvuxna i ett annat land, deras bristande simkunnighet kan bero på att inga tillräckliga resurser har tillförts för att lära dem att simma.

This thesis focuses on the educational thought of William Godwin (1756-1836) and how it is expressed through his essays and fiction. Attention here focuses on the Account of the Seminary (1783), The Enquirer (1797), and the preface to Bible Stories (1803). Godwin’s key argument is that the imagination must be developed through reading. In this, Godwin saw the potential for subsequent generations to live wiser and happier lives than their predecessors, with reading offering a place for young people to learn without being forced to conform to the models offered by previous generations under the authority Godwin saw as inherent to conventional pedagogy. This thesis argues that Godwin’s education writing represents the convergence of the author’s epistemology, his passion for literature, and his vision of the continuous improvement of humanity. Godwin’s ideas are rooted in a profoundly sceptical theory of knowledge, and this rejection of certainty contributes both to Godwin’s principled rejection of authority and his acknowledgement of its utility in education. The author’s search for an ethical solution to this conflict is seen in the contrast between his rejection of Rousseau’s Émile (1762) and his affection for Fénelon’s Telemachus (1699), culminating in his own novel Fleetwood (1805). Godwin’s writing for children, exemplified by his Fables Ancient and Modern (1805), shows the author attempting to create texts that teach children to think for themselves – books that reject the mantle of literary authority.

William Godwin (1756-1836) wrote a number of plays at the height of his literary and philosophical fame at the end of the eighteenth and beginning of the nineteenth centuries. Biographers have been quick to dismiss these plays as embarrassing interludes in an otherwise successful literary career. As a result critics have largely ignored these four plays. This thesis has two main objectives. Firstly; it aims to provide the first comprehensive discussion of the four plays( Each play will be situated in its own historical and political context and its composition, publication, and, where relevant, performance history will be given.The second and broader aim of the thesis is to consider the notion of theatricality in relation to Godwin's political project. 'Theatricality' in this context represents: the theatrical culture of Britain in the 1790s, that is, the world of theatre-going and dramatic spectacle in which William Godwin was a regular participant; the fact that politics itselfas historians have frequently noted - was a matter of theatre and spectacle in the period; and finally, the specific theatrical tropes that play pivotal roles in Godwin's writing. In brief, Godwin's immersion in the theatrical world of metropolitan London inevitably permeated his philosophical thinking and his writing to a significant extent and his ideas on the dissemination of the principles of Political Justice and The Enquirer are influenced by a notion of theatrical conversation. Godwin's plays need to read alongside his· novels and philosophical writings in order to understand fully the extent of his political goals.

Les ecrits de godwin sont une critique radicale de la societe contemporaine, du droit divin, des pouvoirs tyranniques, de l'absolutisme, de l'autorite, de l'oppression et de la domination ecclesiastique. Le theme de la liberte se dessine a travers political justice (1793), mais il est omnipresent dans les autres textes de godwin. Dans ses romans, les aspects ideologiques sont egalement lies a une esthetique de la liberte. Le theme de la liberte dans l'oeuvre de godwin est present a deux niveaux, ideologique et esthetique. Le but de cette these est d'operer une synthese entre ces deux aspects des ecrits de l'auteur. Plusieurs etapes sont perceptibles: l'exigence de liberte en matiere de religion, la volonte de construire une societe libre, la vision de la liberte individuelle, le refus de l'autorite et le souci de liberte dans l'education. Godwin cree son esthetique de la liberte. Tout ce qui est cloisonnement et obscurite est utilise pour decrire l'absence de liberte. A l'oppose, il y a la lumiere, symbole de la liberte, mais aussi de l'illumination par la raison et de la capacite intellectuelle necessaire a la decouverte de cette liberte
The whole of godwin's work is a radical criticism of the contemporary english society, absolutism, authority, and the oppression of the eccesiastical authorities. The theme of liberty is systematically constructed in his political justice (1793), but it exists in all his prose, particularly in his novels, and manifests itself on the ideological as well as the esthetical level. The aim of this researche is to show the interference of the two spheres and to bring out a synthesis between the ideological orientations and the esthetical procedures of the author. This can be realized in four different fields : religion, society, individuality and education. Godwin created original metaphores corresponding to his dualistic vision of the society : absolutism and liberty

This dissertation argues that the British philosopher, novelist and social critic William Godwin (1756-1836) used literary depictions and discussions of book-reading to negotiate public debates about the nature of the human mind. It takes an intellectual-historical approach to Godwin's representation of communications media, using this to illuminate the wider cultural significance of book-reading in Romantic-period Britain. I ultimately claim that for Godwin, the book-object became a literary presence and a conceptual tool by which he expressed and defended his belief in the reality and necessity of intellectual perfectibility. My first three chapters set the groundwork for this argument by exploring Godwin's treatment of 'The Matter of the Reader' (Chapter One), 'The Ethics of Novel-Reading' (Chapter Two), and 'The Discipline of Reading' (Chapter Three). As Godwin engaged with debates about materialism, literary form and education, he negotiated inherited ambivalence about the nature of the human mind and the conditions necessary for its vitality. Godwin's writing about reading exposes a fundamental tension that runs throughout his corpus: he consistently invested confidence in the mind and idealised its operation, yet was simultaneously preoccupied by theorising major threats to its development. My final two chapters argue that Godwin's writing about the book as a material medium provided an ongoing response to this tension. I show that his comparative evaluations of 'Social Media' (Chapter Four) and his literary rendering of books in terms of 'Bodies and Monuments' (Chapter Five) were contributions to debates about the powers of truth, death, and cultural memory. I conclude that Godwin used the book-object as a gesture of faith in the necessary perfection of human minds. This dissertation remaps Godwin's contribution to British culture by drawing attention to the crucial role book-reading played in his philosophy, fiction, essays and correspondence. In doing so, it highlights a rich vein of enquiry opened up by the growing 'interdiscipline' of media history: the cultural figuration of books and reading.

The problem addressed in this study was that university system and institutional administrators need to know who (geographically and demographically) the consumers of online courses and programs are. The purpose of this comparative study was to identify student populations and registration patterns over an eight year period in on-campus and online courses offered by Montana State University. Whether or not distinct student populations could be identified based on the mode of course delivery (on-campus vs. online) was established through analysis of spatial and demographic data. The design of this project used a comparative approach to identify differences in population demographics and a spatially sensitive correlational approach to identify associations between the spatial nature of on-campus and online registrations over time. The population included all on-campus and online course registrations offered through MSU from academic year 2000-2001 through 2007-2008. A Chi Square test was used to provide a spatially unweighted assessment of "spatial" proportionality. The exploratory spatial data analysis tool GeoDa was used to assess the global and local spatial dimension of the research while ANOVAs, factorial ANOVAs, and logistic regression were used to assess the demographic research questions. The Chi Square tests indicated that there are significant differences in the proportion of registrations over time at the local, state and national level. Global spatial autocorrelation tests provide statistically significant, but moderately weak results. The Local Indicator of Spatial Autocorrelation (LISA) analyses point to considerable overlap in registration "footprints" between on-campus and online registrations. Those tests also indicated that changes in spatial patterns have been more evolutionary for online registrations than for on-campus registrations which showed less variation over time. The demographic tests indicated that on-campus and online populations differ both in age and gender composition. The conclusion based on the results is that online courses are likely supplementing, not supplanting campus registrations at MSU. While the geographic analysis points to significant, fairly extensive, and growing geographic overlap between the home-of-origin locations of online and on-campus populations, the age and gender differences clearly indicate that the online population is older and more female than the on-campus population.

No previous study has sought to discriminate between soil erosion and soil compaction when explaining the "missing" cross-sectional areas of incised trails, assuming instead that erosion was the dominant process. Separating the two processes of erosion and compaction is critical to understanding the relationship between physiographic variables and the structure of trails. The purposes of this project are to estimate the relative effects of compaction and erosion on trail cross sectional area along the New World Gulch Trail, Montana, and to better understand the relationship between erosion, compaction, local topography, vegetation, soil bulk density, and soil texture. The following hypotheses were addressed: 1) adjusting the incised cross sectional area of a trail, by removing the effects of soil compaction, will increase the amount of variance in erosion explained by collected physiographic variables; and 2) inclusion of soil bulk density and soil texture as physiographic variables will increase the amount of variance in cross-sectional area explained along the trail. The goals of this study required the collection of field data, analysis of soil samples, and statistical analysis of data. Soil samples and other field measurements were collected over several months during the summer and fall of 1994. Some of the topographic information used in the statistical analysis originated in Urie's (1994) study of recreational trails. The determination of trail slope as one of the primary components of trail incision is consistent with previous studies. Soil water content is the second most significant independent variable when the percentage of particle sizes are not considered. Percent vegetative cover is also significant in the stepwise regression, although it is not significantly correlated to cross-sectional area. The most significant variable added to those already studied was soil bulk density. When individual variables were regressed against the measured cross-sectional area, off-trail soil bulk density accounted for the second greatest amount of variance (r² = 0.12) after trail slope (r² = 0.35). The ratio of on-trail soil bulk density to off-trail soil bulk density, which could be considered a measure of compaction, accounted for even more variance (r² = 0.18) than soil bulk density.

Upravne zgrade, pored religijskih, jesu najreprezentativniji javniobjekti podignuti u okviru planskog naselja. Tokom istorije se nužnouspostavlja neraskidiva veza između izgrađene sredine i osobenostidruštva. Razvoj arhitektonskih oblika, njegov nastanak, geneza i smenaoblikovanja, zavise od socio-političkog, kulturološkog i istorijskograsta društva. U načinu na koji su oblikovane upravne zgrade, mogućeje, deduktivno, pratiti uspostavljanje, razvoj i izmenu upravnogsistema nad određenim prostorom. Tako nastala arhitektonska formanemi je svedok minulih epoha.

Ce mémoire porte sur l’engagement civique du poète Gérald Godin durant les années précédant son entrée en politique lors des élections provinciales de 1976. Plus précisément, il aborde l’évolution de la trajectoire du poète entre le début de sa carrière journalistique et le moment de son élection. Entre son travail de journaliste et sa publication de nombreux recueils de poésie, Godin démontre une politisation croissante et continue. Les champs d’intérêt du poète passèrent alors des questions culturelles aux questions sociopolitiques. Sa trajectoire est également influencée par les débats de l’époque, notamment ceux sur la langue et le nationalisme québécois. D’autres évènements comme la Crise d’octobre ont eu une influence importante sur la pensée du poète.

This dissertation examines the rhetoric employed by Wollstonecraft, Cugoano, and Godwin who devise a top-down/bottom-up dialectic of social-justice writing which can be read as grassroots advocacy. The authors write with two constant goals in mind: from the top down, they decry systemic forms of injustice; and from the bottom up, they make the experiences of victims visible. Scholarship on A Vindication of the Rights of Woman, Thoughts and Sentiments on the Evil of Slavery, and Things as They are; or, The Adventures of Caleb Williams, has often focused on assessing the degree to which each text concerns itself with democratic equal rights. By contrast, this project explicates how the writers collectively define social injustice for the late eighteenth century. The writers simultaneously voice their indignation against those moral and socio-economic wrongs; deconstruct assumptions of natural inferiority and social disrespect; demand extensive change to social foundations; assert the humanity of women, workers, and slaves; and empathize with other oppressed populations across their traditionally conceived genres of vindication, slave narrative, and novel. Ultimately, my work incorporates a lexicon of political philosophy, political theory, and grassroots advocacy into literary studies to show how Wollstonecraft, Cugoano, and Godwin not only recognize corresponding patterns of oppression but also utilize strikingly similar literary devices and rhetorical strategies by which to combat injustice. All three authors share the same fundamental aim— to transform the dismal existence of the oppressed groups they represent.

This thesis analyses the implications of digital distribution for the Nigerian video industry (Nollywood). Following a media industry studies research framework and drawing from interviews with more than 50 industry stakeholders, this project argues the advent of digital distribution has opened formal pathways to transnational capital and audiences hitherto unseen in Nollywood. Yet rather than a rational and linear transition away from the industry’s historical informal dynamics, the emergence of streaming services in Nollywood has been marked by complexity, contradiction, and ambivalence through what I suggest are ‘pluriformalising’ market mechanisms.

The work also gives an account of how godin developed his experimental method and the related statistical analysis of behaviour types, thus pioneering the use of experimentation in social psychology

This essay is a reflection on various layers which inform my artistic practice, and particularly expands on the background and research for my short film The Spirit, The Lamp & The Permanent Inhabitant. It's an attempt to describe how certain parts of my Gotlandic background influence and inspire my artistic practice, and also to show how reading, writing and critical reflection are important parts of my process. The essay pays tribute to an oral storytelling tradition that can be found on the island Gotland, Sweden, but is also an examination into how tourism has affected human relationships, and speculatively, the relationship between humans and ancient spirits.

I tidigare studier har framkommit att elever med omfattande frånvaro är en heterogen grupp som det finns bristfällig kunskap om både vad gäller deras kunskaper och behov. Det saknas således mer djupgående studier om sambandet mellan godkänt betyg i matematik och omfattande frånvaro och vad som kan vara viktiga aspekter att ta hänsyn till för speciallärares/specialpedagogers arbete med att stötta en elev som befinner sig i omfattande frånvaro. Syftet med den här studien är att beskriva vad som kan leda fram till ett godkänt betyg i matematik hos elever med omfattande frånvaro. För att uppnå studiens syfte har en kvalitativ metod med halvstrukturerade intervjuer använts där en elev med omfattande frånvaro, fem vårdnadshavare med barn som har omfattande frånvaro och fem matematiklärare intervjuats. Intervjuerna är transkriberade och tematiserade. Resultatet visar att ingen enskild faktor har betydelse utan det är flera faktorer som samverkar. De olika mönster vi kunnat utröna i studien som indikerar på framgång är undervisning, relationer och lärmiljö.Dessa är betydande för att elever med omfattande frånvaro blir godkända i matematik. Studien borde ha relevans för speciallärare, matematiklärare, elevhälsa och övrig skolpersonal som jobbar med elever med omfattande frånvaro.

Syftet med föreliggande examensarbete är att undersöka vad elever med avsaknad av betyg i ämnet svenska från grundskolan tror att detta beror på. Vi har även undersökt om eleverna, enligt dem själva, fått tillräckliga förut-sättningar för att nå målen i ämnet. Genom en kvalitativ intervjuundersökning, har elever som går på det Individuella programmet (IV) fått ge sin syn på svenskämnet samt vad som gick fel och vad de anser är anledningen till detta. Vidare har vi studerat forskning och rapporter i ämnet. Resultaten visar att de intervjuade eleverna främst ser sin egen avsaknad av engagemangsom orsaken till att de är utan betyg i svenska. De anser att de har fått tillräckligt med hjälp från skolan och ser sitt eget ansvar som det yttersta ansvaret för hur väl det går i skolan.

"Do not be a martyr to philosophy, which you will be, if you do not take more exercise, be a little more foolish, and look at the world with all its awkward things, its clumsy, lumpish forms, its fools, its cockscombs, and its scoundrels with more endurance". This study makes no pretensions to provide full biographical coverage of Hays's life (1759-1843) or a comprehensive, critical exploration of the total range of her works. A thesis produced in 1971 purports 'to provide a definitive study of her literary achievements [...] and to place the complete corpus of Hays' extant works (ten in all) in the perspective of the literature of her time [...]2 and I am indebted to this exhaustive study of the author and her background. However, as the preface to her thesis declares, Gina Luria had deliberately excluded consideration of the correspondence between Hays and William Godwin, then recently purchased by the Pforzheimer Library, New York, as she had intended future publication of it. Subsequently, the project was abandoned. I have made extensive use of this correspondence to explore Hays's novels and to challenge much of the adverse criticism surrounding her writing, which I believe is based on misreadings of the texts themselves as well as on a willingness to emphasise the notoriety surrounding the authoress as a female and then as a female Jacobin. Rather, I am focusing on the aspects of Hays's life which enabled her to articulate her concerns through a series of social and intellectual 'voices' which she systematically experimented with, but ultimately rejected. It seems likely that Hays felt a need to affix a label on herself whether it were Dissenter, Wolistonecraftian, Helvetian or Godwinian, and this need suggests that she was searching for an identity in a shifting and perplexing political and philosophical climate. The adoption of an identifiable 'position' might have suggested to her security and control. Most importantly, I am concentrating on the means she adopted in order to justify her apparent 'failure' to live up to the ideals of William Godwin.

Resumo: " 'As coisas como elas são'. Moralidade política e social em William Godwin (1790-1800)" é um estudo a respeito do filósofo, romancista e ideólogo político William Godwin (1756-1836). A trajetória política de Godwin na década de 1790 é abordada tendo como referência a crítica às posições tradicionais da historiografia a seu respeito. Enquanto esta se recusa a atribuir a Godwin um caráter propriamente político e representativo no dito "debate político" da década de 1790, este estudo procura compreender o conteúdo propriamente político de sua atuação social. Para isso, investiga como Godwin pensa a ordem políticosocial na Inglaterra da década de 1790, tendo como fontes fundamentais seu tratado filosófico Investigação acerca dajustiça política (1793) e seu romance As coisas como elas são, ou as aventuras de Caleb Williams (1794). No romance Caleb Williams, Godwin se dirige à crítica política da moralidade privada. Segundo ele, em decorrência da perpetuação de uma ordem política fundada nos valores morais aristocráticos, as relações entre os indivíduos são marcadas pela violência, pela tirania e pelo sofrimento. Esta crítica revela seu caráter propriamente político por ser dirigida às instituições monárquicas e aristocráticas que, para ele, condicionam os indivíduos a alimentar os valores e sentimentos que conduzem as sociabilidades privadas a assumirem um caráter conflituoso e violento. Com sua crítica à ordem monárquica e aristocrática, Godwin revela os des~jos de uma fração das classes médias inglesas interessadas em reformar a moralidade da. nação e de universalizar seus códigos de conduta. Godwin defende as idéias burguesas de virtude e capacidade individual, ao invés da hereditariedade e do sangue nobre cultivados pela aristocracia. Godwin desempenha o papel de ideólogo burguês, que opera a reelaboração e difusão de valores mais aptos à consolidação da ordem capitalista na Inglaterra
Abstract: "'Things as they are'. Political and social morality in William Godwin (1790-1800)" is a study on the philosopher, writer and political ideologist William Godwin (1790-1800). Godwin's political role in 1790's is approached according to the criticism to the traditional historiography approaches about him. Whereas the latter refuses to attribute a properly political nature to Godwin, which is representative in the so-called 1790's "polítical debate", this study seeks to understand the proper1ypolitical content ofhis social actuation. To do so, it investigates how Godwin thinks of the political order in England in 1790, having as fundamental sources his philosophical treatise Political justice (1793) and his romance Things as they are or the adventures ofCaleb Williams (1794). In Caleb Williams Godwin addresses private morality's polítical criticism. According to him, due to a perpetuation of a polítical order founded on aristocratic moral values, re1ations among individuaIs are marked by violence, tyranny and suffering. Ris criticism reveals its proper1y polítical nature because it is addressed to British aristocratic and monarchical institutions. To him, they subject individuaIs to the conditioning of supporting values and feelings which makes private sociability to assume a conflicting and violent nature. With his criticism to the monarchical and aristocratic order, Godwin reveals the desires of a fraction of British middle classes interested in refonning nation's morality and universalising its behaviour codes. Godwin advocates bourgeois notions of virtue and individual capacity rather than that ones of heredity and noble blood maintained by aristocracy. Re reveals himself as a bourgeois ideologist that proceeds to a re-e1aboration and spread of values more suitable to the consolidation of the British capitalist order

Lo scopo di questo lavoro è quello di analizzare la relazione tra il filosofo, politico, e scrittore anarchico William Godwin (vissuto in Inghilterra a cavallo tra il Settecento e l’Ottocento) e la letteratura sentimentale settecentesca inglese. Questa tesi si sviluppa in tre capitoli, il primo si apre con una panoramica sul periodo storico e sulla letteratura sentimentale (Age of Sensibility), una corrente letteraria a cavallo tra l’Età Augustea e il Romanticismo, che nasce nel periodo di transizione in cui ci si sposta da una visione puramente razionale dell'uomo a una visione che prende in considerazioni anche le passioni, l'empatia e i sentimenti umani. In questo particolare periodo di transizione la sensibilità umana inizia ad essere studiata anche in medicina e in filosofia, e questo si riflette molto nella letteratura che si produce in quel periodo (che va dal 1730 al 1800 circa). La narrativa sentimentale possiede delle caratteristiche molto particolari, infatti, già a fine secolo ricevette molte critiche e venne presto dimenticata, per poi essere riscoperta a inizio Novecento. Tra i vari critici troviamo proprio William Godwin, il quale però utilizza alcuni aspetti della letteratura sentimentale nei suoi romanzi, in particolare in Caleb Williams e Fleetwood. Il primo capitolo si conclude con la biografia dell’autore, mentre il secondo e il terzo capitolo si concentrano sull’analisi dei due romanzi, soprattutto per quanto riguarda l’aspetto sentimentale delle due opere.

The waste of material is a big expense for manufacture companies caused by lack of quality. The cost by lack of quality often totaled to a big percentage share of the turnover when all cost related to lack of quality is included. New manufacturing systems like Lean production or Just In Time demands better internal quality for the manufacturer. To make those manufacturing system with small and none buffer stock successful the quality improvement continuously have to be developed. Measuring of waste of material in Bubs Candy’s factory where not simple due to the products does not have a permanent weight during the manufacturing process. The weight of Bubs Candy’s products vary depending where in the manufacturing chain it’s located because of vary in the water content. With different measurement and examination the problems have been removed and good opportunities for calculate and enter the waste of material have been created. A large number of measures to reduce the waste of material in the production have been formed. The measures are based in facts from interviews, measurements and observations. The examinations are made especially in a part of the production there the products are casted. The results of this grad work are solving proposals, full or partly, for the problems that have been identified. Documents for follow up the quality work have been created. Together with proposals for active quality improvement, Bubs get good opportunities to develop their production and reach increased efficiency, profit and quality.

Följande studie avser att problematisera barns matvanor och sockerkonsumtion. Syftet har varit att genom kvantitativa enkätundersökningar och kvalitativa gruppintervjuer undersöka hur hög sockerkonsumtionen är hos barn i tio- till tolvårsåldern under en vecka. Arbetets centrala del ligger i att undersöka hur barnen ser på och tänker kring sina egna kostvanor. Undersökningsresultatet visar att majoriteten av studiens deltagare besitter en medvetenhet kring vad som är bra och nyttig mat samt medvetenhet kring frukostens betydelse för människan.

Resumo: Alguns anos antes da deflagração da Revolução Inglesa de 1640, que na Inglaterra deporia o regime monárquico e daria aos puritanos o controle de um regime pretensamente republicano, ocorreria uma série de erros políticos que contribuiriam para os conflitos que levaram à Guerra Civil. Boa parte deles adveio da política pró-Espanha assumida pelos dois primeiros reis Stuart, Jaime I e Carlos I, que, entre outras ações, não apoiaram as classes protestantes nas suas empresas de comercialização e colonização de mercados no exterior, deixando a situação econômica do país negativa. Diante do iminente fenecimento do regime monárquico, da Igreja Anglicana alicerçada no sistema episcopal e de aliança ao Estado, do perigo da Inglaterra se tornar domínio espanhol, Francis Godwin compõe por volta de 1629, publicado seu texto em 1638, a ficção utópica "The Man in the Moone". Sumarizando todo o conflito religioso e os deslizes do governo dos primeiros Stuart que caracterizou a Inglaterra nos 40 primeiros anos do século XVII, o presente estudo objetivará mostrar que essa ficção do espanhol Domingo Gonsales na sua viagem à lua, na passagem pela fictícia ilha de Santa Helena e pela China ocupada por jesuítas, debatendo as teorias de Copérnico, Galileu, Gilbert e Kepler na área da astronomia, se pretendeu uma defesa e proteção da Igreja Anglicana e do regime monárquico Tudor que aliava a Igreja ao Estado e favorecia a economia. Através do exemplo disciplinado e inovador dos jesuítas em missão na China no início do século XVII, Godwin intentará advertir os confusos reis, que a saída para os conflitos internos e externos ingleses estava no livre desenvolvimento da ciência, do comércio, e, agora diferente dos jesuítas, numa política adversária à Espanha e à mentalidade medieval e obsoleta católica
Abstract: Some years before the outbreak of the English Revolution of 1640, testifying that in England the monarchy and the Puritans would control an allegedly republican regime, there were a series of errors that contribute to political conflicts that led to the Civil War. Most of them came from the pro-Spanish political assumed by the first two Stuart kings, James I and Charles I, who, among other things, did not support the Protestant classes in their trading enterprises and colonization of overseas markets, leaving the economic situation of the country negative. Faced with the imminent withering of the monarchy, the Anglican Episcopal Church founded on the alliance with the State, the danger of Britain becoming a Spanish colony, Francis Godwin composed around 1629 and his text published in 1638, the utopian fiction "The Man in the Moone". Summarizing all the religious conflict and glides early Stuart England that characterized the first 40 years of the seventeenth century, this study will aim to show that this fiction of Spanish Domingo Gonsales on your trip to the moon, in his passage by the fictional island of Santa Helena and China populated by Jesuits, debating the theories of Copernicus, Galileo, Kepler and Gilbert in the field of astronomy, sought a defense and protection of the Anglican Church and the Tudor monarchy that allied the Church to the State and favored the economy. Through disciplined and innovative example of the Jesuit mission in China in the early seventeenth century, Godwin will bring and warn the confused kings, that the output for the English internal and external conflicts was the investment in science, commerce, and now different from the Jesuits, in opposition to Spain and the Catholic medieval mentality and obsolete policy

En Angleterre, à la fin du XVIIIe siècle, le débat sur l’éducation des pauvres s’intensifie. La pauvreté, grandissante, est vue comme une menace pour la sécurité publique. L’éducation apparaît alors comme un moyen de la réguler et de résoudre les problèmes moraux qu’elle engendre. William Godwin, écrivain, philosophe et éducateur, prend part à ce débat qui articule éducation, pauvreté et politique. Ce travail se fixe pour objectif de réaliser une lecture de la philosophie politique et éducative de William Godwin à partir des positions qu’il a tenues sur la question de la pauvreté. Bien qu’il n’ait jamais explicitement indiqué que sa pensée éducative et sa pensée politique étaient destinées aussi aux couches défavorisées de la société, nous faisons l’hypothèse qu’une lecture cohérente de son œuvre peut être réalisée si on le suppose. Pour définir sa contribution au débat sur l’éducation des pauvres, réaliser un état des lieux du système éducatif existant a été nécessaire. Dans un second temps, a été menée une analyse du plan d’éducation godwinien qui s’oppose nettement à cette éducation. Axé sur l’égalité naturelle, le potentiel de progrès et le développement des différentes dimensions humaines, un tel projet éducatif permet à chacun d’atteindre l’autonomie et de vivre harmonieusement avec ses semblables. Enfin, éduquer, c’est former de nouveaux hommes capables de vivre dans une nouvelle société. Pour Godwin, la société du futur est une société où les hommes seront suffisamment éduqués et autonomes pour se passer d’État. Au terme de ces analyses, il apparaît légitime d’affirmer qu’il n’y a pas, chez Godwin, une société pour les riches ou une société pour les pauvres ni une éducation pour les riches et une éducation pour les pauvres, mais bien, une éducation et une société pour tous
In England, at the end of the eighteenth century, the debate on the education of the poor gets stronger. Poverty is increasing and it is perceived as a threat to people’s safety. In that context, education appears as a means to regulate and solve the moral problems it triggers. William Godwin, a writer, a philosopher but also an educator takes part in the debate which articulates education, poverty and politics. The present research aims at carrying out a reading of William Godwin’s political and educationnal philosophy from the views he expressed, separately, on the issue of poverty.Though he never clearly mentioned that his educational and political thinking was also meant for the lower ranks of society, we believe that a coherent reading of his work can be performed if we suppose that his thinking was effectively destined for the poor. Defining Godwin’s contribution to the debate on education for all first implies to propose a description of the educational system in Godwin’s time. Then, an analysis of his educational plan that stands in total opposition to the education of his time has been suggested. Based on equality among men, their potential of progress and the developement of all human qualities, it intends to form independent human beings able to live harmoniously with other people. Eventually, educating means forming new men able to live in a new society. To Godwin, the new society is a place where people are educated and autonomous enough to get rid of the state. At the end of our study, it seems legitimate to assert that, in Godwin’s thinking, there is neither a society for rich people or a society for the poor, or an education for the rich and another one for the poor but rather an education and a society for everybody

The aim of this study is to develop a more effective translation technique analysis of the Peshitta to Ezekiel text that would contribute to the textual studies of Ezekiel. In order to help provide such an effective analysis on translation technique, the methodology employed is the comparative analysis of texts, which incorporates the theory from Cognitive Semantics called Frame Semantics. This theory views units of meaning in text or speech contexts at the level of semantic frames and is therefore most ideal in view of the idiomatic nature of the Peshitta translation. By applying this theory, the frames in the Hebrew source text of the translator were compared to those in the translator’s target Syriac text, to see whether there were correspondences between the two frames. In chapter 3, the GIVING frames evoked by נתן (nātan) were studied and it was found that most of the frames in the Hebrew text corresponded well with those in the Syriac target text. The exception is mainly those frames in which there might have been textual difficulties in the source text. Similar observations were made in chapter 4 for the ARRIVING frames evoked by the Hebrew verb בוא (bō). However, nouns associated with the frame MISDEEDS presented some problems, mainly as to their use in the Hebrew source text. The use of these nouns could have affected the translator’s understanding of such categories, leading to their inconsistent representation in the target text. Nevertheless, it can be indicated that the translator demonstrated a relatively good understanding of the use of the nouns in the Hebrew text. Overall, the translation of the Peshitta to Ezekiel was made at the approximate level of semantic frames, displaying a translation technique that should be very useful for the textual studies of the Book of Ezekiel.

This thesis deals with the assessment of school texts by students in Swedish upper-secondary school or in the corresponding adult education and concentrates on what differs between the grades Pass and Fail. The 60 texts used in the survey come from the 1997 archives of the national test construction group. A questionnaire to teachers asks what criteria are most important when distinguishing between Pass and Fail. The five criteria pointed out are Holistic scoring, Relevant content, The connecting thought, Sentence structure and How the student has followed the instructions. The most salient result regarding grades is the difference between grades from the students’ own teachers and from the independent assessors. Ten texts have received a Fail from the student’s own teacher, but as many as 35 get an average Fail from three assessors. There is variation in assessment, but 18 Fail texts and 18 Pass texts get a unanimous grade. Quantitative analyses of the 60 texts show a definite correlation between grade and number of words. However, the Fail-groups among narrative, expository and argumentative texts contain both the shortest and the longest texts. School texts are longer now than thirty years ago, especially texts with low grades. Sentences and words have become shorter. Coherence is investigated by a method of reference cohesion. No clear difference between Pass and Fail texts can be found, but between types of essay topics. Also important is the organization of the text and its paragraphs, a factor which separates Fail and Pass texts. Various aspects of sentence structure show better results in the Pass texts. The thesis is concluded with a commentary on the demands of the last compulsory course in Swedish. The needed level is argued to be the ability to write for an unknown reader.

Objašnjene su osnovnekarakteristike fenomena alternativnih kulturnih praksi,prostora i autora, njihova reprezentativna moć kao sastavnidio reprezentacije moći države, njihova posebnost kaoprostorno-kulturnog fenomena i trajne posljedice nezavisnood izmjenjenih uslova i okolnosti u kojima danas postoje.
The paper explores alternative cultural practices of architectureand urban planning in Yugoslavia, from the period 1945 and1980. Theoretical, educational, curatorial, artistic andprofessional architectural practices have been viewed in thecontext of everyday life and socialist modernism. Explains thebasic characteristics of the phenomenon of alternative culturalpractices, space and authors, their representative power as anintegral part of the team and not the state, their uniqueness asspatially-cultural phenomenon and lasting effectsindependently of the changed conditions and circumstancesexist today.
