Texto completo da fonteCardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death worldwide. The most effective way to combat these diseases is the real-time monitoring of the electrocardiogram (ECG) that reflect the electrical signals generated by the heart cells. The ECG signal provides to cardiologists all the information needed to diagnose heart diseases. So far, the electrocardiogram is recorded by using the cutaneous conventional medical electrodes (Ag/AgCl) based on silver and silver chloride. These electrodes are not destined for long-term use and can provoke skin irritation because of the ionic gel that serves to reduce the impedance of the electrode / skin interface. In this thesis, flexible textile electrodes operating without any ionic gel have been developed as alternatives to medical electrodes (Ag/AgCl). Our approach is based on the modification of conductive inks based on the intrinsically conductive polymer, poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) poly (styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT: PSS) compatible with selected textile substrates. The realization of the electrodes uses manufacturing techniques that can be easily transferred to the textile industry. Characterizations were set up to evaluate the reliability of these systems before and after 50 washes in laboratory and domestic machines. In this case, the surface resistivity of the electrodes-sensors, the modeling of the electrode/skin interface, the analysis of the ECG signal in static and dynamic, the spectral power density of the ECG signal, the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) were analyzed and compared to commercial silver-based electrodes. As our developed sensor electrodes have a real clinical and industrial potential, we have also studied the feasibility of the connection and its durability. The chosen solution consists of two silver-plated polyamide threads, which are available on the market, embroidered to make the connections between the textile sensor electrodes and a flexible electronic module based on a composite film (polyester-aluminum). In addition, two encapsulation methods have also been developed to protect systems during washing and to make them ready for the market

Texto completo da fonteIn the manufacturing process of textile reinforcements, friction between twisted yarns is a critical factor that significantly influences the mechanical properties of fiber-reinforced composites. Excessive friction can deteriorate these properties. This study develops a comprehensive analytical framework to understand the friction behavior in the manufacturing of textile reinforcements. Two novel analytical models were introduced to describe friction behaviorof yarns. The models account for the full-scale contact dynamics influenced. Experimental validations confirm the model's efficacy by providing a detailed characterization of friction under various conditions, which reveal the influence of critical parameters on friction behavior of fabric architectures. Additionally, an innovative numerical model for predicting yarn friction and wear behavior was introduced, incorporating both geometric and mechanical components. A yarn model, considering fiber damage behavior based on the Timoshenko beam, was developed to explore friction and wear during reinforcement manufacturing. The model effectively addresses penetration problems through self-coding and was validated by experimental results and microCT imaging, confirming its accuracy. This method provides valuable insights into the mechanical response of yarns during reinforcement manufacturing, allowing for an in-depth understanding of the effect of yarn geometrical and mechanical parameters on friction and wear behavior. Future improvements can further characterize friction behavior during composite forming and optimize the manufacturing process, promoting longer product lifespans and reduced waste

Texto completo da fonteThe RaidOUTILS project aims the production of textile reinforcement for composite parts. Manufacturing of stiffeners with constant, as well as variable, cross sectional shape is possible. Interlacing is possible trough the thickness of the material and leads to a wide range of fibre orientation within the textile reinforcement. The RaidOUTILS technology is a hybridisation of braiding and weaving manufacturing. By combining properties from both technologies, steps such as cutting, joining and forming can be avoid. Those steps introduce defect in traditional reinforcement manufacturing cycle. Based on independent motion for each yarn within the structure it is possible to control interlacing and modify cross section. Modelling is also proposed for this process. It represents the yarn kinematic based on the existing machinery. The simple model is necessary to have a low calculation time to get the virtual skeleton of the structure. This skeleton returns data such as interlacing, orientation of the preform. The aim of the project is the creation of a new 3D textile manufacturing process and also to make the link between a product (textile) and the process by modelling
