Self expression is no longer conveyed by arts and literature. In the world of digitization and software-led products, one needs another way of expressing themselves. That need to automate a workflow or that idea to create new business are only expressible through software - that you would then need to hire a professional developer to first listen to your needs then express them on your behalf in the form of software. No, not that; I need this way instead of this way; you as the customer would say to your developer until you arrive at what you need. Or if you are a developer yourself, cutting time away from your coding job to build your own stuff is a cut of your personal time outside of coding already; unless you are building your own business. Both, customers to software, need to be able to express themselves in software and with minimal knowledge and time. Enter the world of Low-Code software development. This paper discusses key impacts coming with this trend

AbstractMany interventional radiologists express concern about communicating their practice needs to their radiology department chairs. As a result, they may have difficulty getting support for hiring of additional physicians and staff, capital investments in equipment, and marketing of IR services. Some perceive that chairs have a preference for diagnostic radiology initiatives over interventional and want to know why. More importantly, they want to know how to approach their chair and succeed in their advocacy for IR. The key to success is understanding the perspective of the chair and the pressures and demands they face. That understanding allows the IR to propose their initiatives in a form that helps address some of the chair's needs and thus eases their path to success.

Abstract: In the real world, we enjoy showing off our art collections through images and films to express our personalities and interact with others in the neighborhood. However, there aren’t many methods in the NFT community outside updating the profile image for us to show others how much we love our collections. Adding any NFT to your camera is quite simple with this project. This merely needs an OpenSea connection to access the associated material because of the compatibility with web3. And whether it is 3D or 2D, a superb AR experience will be created based on the NFT. The NFT can be used as a background if it’s a JPEG. However, if the 3D model is set up, you may control it by moving your body.

Logic models feature prominently in intervention research yet there is increasing debate about their ability to express how interventions work in the real-world. ‘Real-world’ logic models are a new proposition which express complex interventions in context. They are designed to help researchers strike a balance between context-sensitivity and scalability. This article explores the utility of real-world logic models in a trial involving a complex intervention called ‘Your Care Needs You’, designed to improve hospital-home transitions for UK older patients. The approach is found to usefully capture, refine and express important learning about intervention-implementation-context dynamics. The findings imply the need for intervention researchers to think creatively about how to implement interventions in diverse and sometimes challenging environments and to develop understanding of how complex interventions adapt on implementation to produce outcomes. The possibility of assessing the wider social and policy context within intervention research is also posed.

Motion-based hand gesture is an important scheme to allow users to invoke commands on their smartphones in an eyes-free manner. However, the existing scheme is facing some problems. On the one hand, the expression ability of one single gesture is limited. As a result, a gesture set consisting of multiple gestures is typically adopted to represent different commands. Users must memorize all gestures in order to make interaction successfully. On the other hand, the design of gestures needs to be complicated to express diverse intensions. However, complex gestures are difficult to learn and remember. In addition, complex gestures set a high recognition barrier to smart APPs. This leads to an imbalance problem. Different gestures have different recognition accuracy levels, which may result in instability of recognition precision in practical applications. To address these problems, this paper proposes a novel scheme using binary motion gestures. Only two simple gestures are required to express bit “0” and “1,” and rich information can be expressed through the permutation and combination of the two binary gestures. Firstly, four kinds of candidate binary gestures are evaluated for eyes-free interactions. Then, an online signal cutting and merging algorithm is designed to split accelerometer signals sequence into multiple separate gesture signal segments. Next, five algorithms, including Dynamic Time Warping (DTW), Naive Bayes, Decision Tree, Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BLSTM) Network, are adopted to recognize these segments of knock gestures. The BLSTM achieves the top performance in terms of both recognition accuracy and recognition imbalance. Finally, an Android application is developed to illustrate the usability of the proposed binary gestures. As binary gestures are much simpler than traditional hand gestures, they are more efficient and user-friendly. Our scheme eliminates the imbalance problem and achieves high recognition accuracy.

Our Science and scientific explorations are integral components in the process of research and development. Therefore, keeping abreast of recent scientific knowledge and development is an imper proceativess of a professional scientist. Scientific literature such as publications are among the most popular ways to update and up-skill one’s knowledge in a particular area. One can either become a consumer of scientific publication as a reader or s/he could also contribute to the body of literature through academic publications in quality peer-reviewed journals. Having contributed to academic writing as an author is like your passport to your scientific community, not only to share your knowledge but also to gain professional recognition. Your contribution to publication also helps disseminate your new and foremost findings or techniques among scientific and academic communities. In order to be an accomplished scientist, one needs to have good scientific writing skills and be able to express the scientific knowledge effectively and efficiently to the scientific/academic community. Before you start writing, it is important that you should be aware of the main goals of your publication. Your research should answer the relevant questions of the involved field and should arouse interest in the readers. Furthermore, the researcher should also know whether the research and findings of the work are publishable at the given point or not. If the answers are ticked off positively, then the researcher can start preparing the manuscript. Most research papers are based upon the IMRaD format. The word IMRaD stands for the initial letters of the words Introduction (I), Methods (M), Results (R), and Discussion (D). The Introduction describes the scope and purpose of the research in the light of recent information on the existing research; the Methods explain how the analysis was done; the Results section reports your audience to know what the investigation showed; and the Discussion section should explain the significance of the new information provided by your study and suggestions for future studies. . The IMRaD structure has been followed by a progressively increasing number of academic journals and has been the basis for most researches. It is a very effective approach as it facilitates the literature review and lets the readers understand the research more logically.Good scientific writing with the methodical approach is not the only criteria for getting published in scientific journals. For publishing in a particular journal, it's very important to follow the author guidelines. Every journal has a particular format of writing and it is expected that the particular journal is going to publish the articles in the same particular format. This is very important for the journal to be consistent in all the publications. In addition, writing a good research article can seem challenging at first, however, if a researcher plans it properly, the challenge becomes interesting. Your research may conclude with meaningful answers to the unanswered questions in a particular scientific field and serve as a stimulus for further studies in the future. Well-written papers get published more frequently and can easily attract the attention of the readers. They are highly read, recommended as well as cited. Reviewers are more willing to review a well written research article and give favorable comments to improve the quality of the study. The authors should make every effort to implement the proper use of correct grammar. Poor language quality, including errors in grammar, spelling mistakes, typographical errors could delay the publication or lead to outright rejection of the paper.Ultimately, the readers of your scientific manuscript are your primary examiners. They are going to examine the details of all the appropriate components of your study: purpose, background and rationale, strategies, results|, discussion and conclusions. . The elements of good scientific publishing must certainly be clear, precise, and logical. Finally, scientific work is incomplete until the results are disseminated to the larger community. Thus, effective scientific writing will create information exchange, to improve knowledge progress, ideas and improve your colleague's future work.

Abstract Theatre as an institution and form of contemporary art encourages freedom and creativity, attracts free spirits and visions and it should be a physical and spiritual space in which you can find and express your identity at the same time. If in the state system decisions on the budget are taken at a political level and those on the repertoire have to take into account a whole organizational scheme and a large audience, in the independent space, tolerance, acceptance of differences, encouragement of minorities of any kind to express themselves through art, as long as there are talent and ideas that can be transposed in a scenic way, the debate of the taboo subjects for the society should be a priority. Even if financially the independent artists are working on truly desirable projects and with funding that sometimes comes from the state, the constraints that are reflected on the final product are not as large as in the state system, there is no repertoire to be respected. Of course, the productions in the independent environment have to attract audiences, but performances and experiments are getting faster to the public. In Romania, political theatre, community theatre, the theatre that militates for important causes needs courageous artists, artists who use their imagination, their creativity, their critical voice for causes that few believe in. The intimacy that independent spaces can offer to the artists and to the public to create a bond and to reveal their existential fears, aesthetical and ethical principles to which they adhere, makes these spaces a fertile ground for original artistic projects such as Giuvlipen.

Introduction The link between school education and art therapy is supported by the fact that it comes to supplement the common school education activities of children with special educational requirements with a dual purpose: to complete and fix their specific content; to train and practice as much as possible the students’ minds and critical thinking through artistic means. Objectives Prevention of absenteeism and school dropout of the child with special educational requirements through art therapy. Methods In art therapy, the most used methods specific to the fields of visual arts are: drawing, painting, icon, modeling on the wheel, but other techniques can be used. Children are the ones who choose their work materials and activities from the offer that the art therapist makes. From the offer of materials, the beneficiary prefers to paint porcelain objects and letters. He was challenged to identify letters after which he painted them. Results Increasing the feeling of social utility, self-confidence. Improving school situation. Reducing school dropout and literacy. The beneficiary has an interest in letters and numbers and their writing. Form words quickly, easily identifying letters. Create your own games by comparing numbers. Make puzzles with letters and numbers. Art education helps the beneficiary to more easily express their emotions, perceptions, desires and way of thinking. Learning numbers and letters becomes a fun activity when using colors. Conclusions The child needs education through art, because without it there is an imbalance in the fundamental purpose of man, that of developing harmoniously and multilaterally. Disclosure No significant relationships.

If someone becomes seriously ill, has a child with a disability, has a serious accident… a lot of organization is needed to arrange all medical care and necessary support for that person (and often for the family as well). People testify; you are overwhelmed by your illness, you do what needs to be done, you go into survival mode… This survival mode is a major force in making sure people can arrange everything that needs to be arranged, but it also results in disregarding important questions such as 'what do I really want now?', 'how do I feel good in this situation?', 'how do I survive in the long term?'. Fortunately, in such moments there are often other people like family and friends, who think of the “small bearers of luck in life”: which music can be played in their room, which friend can join them at a treatment, which cake is to be taken to the rehabilitation centre, how can the parents recharge their own batteries so they can keep on going? ... Important human gestures, close ones and relatives who stay involved, fight for what's important, don't let go, are as important as good medical care and support. People who call on Lus feel the need for a strong(er) "back-up group" or "loop (lus)" of family and friends, because they want to build a good and happy life, not just survive... Lus-groups meet this requirement. Volunteers ensure that a Lus-meeting is guided so that subjects/themes that really matter are discussed. Concerns are talked about and plans are made to engage, also in fun things. All participants assess in what way(s) the central person’s talents/interests/wishes stay at the center of the gatherings. They discuss problems, celebrate/share successes and express gratitude. Great and small, genuine concerns are shared so that people can lead a meaningful life again. Having conversations that really matter, making choices based on this knowledge, those are the strengths of our groups. Over time we see that people in Lus-groups slowly regain control of their own lives again and reciprocity grows back: the central person takes on the hosting, he helps an other, .... People have been meeting in Lus-groups in Flanders for 20 years. At this time there are 120 active groups. This way, 700 people are involved in the lives of others and we form a web of caring Flemish citizens. As a result of the expertise we built in our Lus-groups, we designed a model that highlights the 4 key elements of every lus-group. In the workshop we want to discuss those 4 themes. Through small excercises and testimonials we want to let the participants feel the Lus-vibe!

AbstractAlthough India is the second-largest country in the world where the English language is spoken, we often use it incorrectly and tend to be verbose. When it comes to writing skills, we use convoluted phrases and complex words when simple ones would do. A medical paper does not need to be written in theatrical or Shakespearean English. We should express ourselves using short words and simple sentences which convey to a reader why we did the study, how we did it, what the results were and whether they are important, what is known about the subject and what your paper adds. Often, even if your article contains good science it may be rejected by Western journals because you did not state clearly what you wanted to convey. We need to improve not only our scientific endeavours but also our writing skills to be accepted for publication in the world’s best journals.

This chapter explores the joy of research as a journey of discovery through writing, driven not by the need for outputs but through a genuine curiosity to inform decision-making and change. To publish because you practice, not because otherwise you may perish, is a privilege. To be motivated by curiosity, need, or even annoyance brings a freedom to explore, express, and, sometimes, educate through publication. Writing is described as an unfolding journey through an ever-more-coherent landscape, where mistakes and back-tracking are part of the travel.

AbstractThis chapter discusses key dimensions for the future of high-level radioactive waste governance (HLW) in Belgium. It highlights elements that a diverse set of stakeholders considered to be of importance for a national public debate, and puts them in the context of the theoretical notion of ‘matter of care’, as developed by Maria Puig De La Bellacassa (2017). Rather than highlight what perspective every type of actor develops, these perspectives are considered as an interrelated collective in which each has its own merits and reasons for existence. Our results show that it will be very difficult to define a one-sided governance approach that covers virtually all dimensions and expectations from all stakeholders in a satisfactory way. Multiple efforts and a mix of initiatives and responsive actions towards new developments will be needed. Approaching this from a perspective of care allows an empathic attitude towards the needs and expectations of all current and future stakeholders in this debate. Caring means assuming that sociotechnical uncertainties will remain, regardless of the preferred long-term option for radioactive waste. Caring is also about allowing real spaces for others who care to express what they care about and how they desire to do so. Caring is not about providing one pre-fixed initial programme, but is about ensuring the waste is being taken care of by means of a collective and open decision-making and governance process.

AbstractMost of Eriksen’s research over the years has somehow or other dealt with the local implications of globalization. He has looked at ethnic dynamics, the challenges of forging national identities, creolization and cosmopolitanism, the legacies of plantation societies and, more recently, climate change in the era of ‘accelerated acceleration’. Here we want to talk not just about cultural diversity and not just look at biological diversity, but both, because he believes that there are some important pattern resemblances between biological and cultural diversity. And many of the same forces militate against that and threaten to create a flattened world with less diversity, less difference. And, obviously, there is a concern for the future. We need to have an open ended future with different options, maximum flexibility and the current situation with more homogenization. We live in a time when there are important events taking place, too, from climate change to environmental destruction, and we need to do something about that. In order to show options and possibilities for the future, we have to focus on diversity because complex problems need diverse answers.Martina: I would like to start with a passion of mine to get into one of your main research themes: diversity. I’m a Marvel fan and, what is emerging, is a reduction of what Marvel has always been about: diversity in comics. There seems to be a standardization that reduces the specificity of each superhero and so it seems that everyone is the same in a kind of indifference of difference. So in this hyper-diversity, I think there is also a reduction of diversity. Do you see something similar in your studies as well?Thomas: It’s a great example, and it could be useful to look briefly at the history of thought about diversity and the way in which it’s suddenly come onto the agenda in a huge way. If you take a look at the number of journal articles about diversity and related concepts, the result is stunning. Before 1990, the concept was not much used. In the last 30 years or so, it’s positively exploded. You now find massive research on biodiversity, cultural diversity, agro-biodiversity, biocultural diversity, indigenous diversity and so on. You’ll also notice that the growth curve has this ‘overheating shape’ indicating exponential growth in the use of the terms. And why is this? Well, I think this has something to do with what Hegel described when he said that ‘the owl of Minerva flies at dusk,’ which is to say that it is only when a phenomenon is being threatened or even gone that it catches widespread attention. Regarding diversity, we may be witnessing this mechanism. The extreme interest in diversity talk since around 1990 is largely a result of its loss which became increasingly noticeable since the beginning of the overheating years in the early 1990s. So many things happened at the same time, more or less. I was just reminded yesterday of the fact that Nelson Mandela was released almost exactly a year after the fall of the Berlin Wall. There were many major events taking place, seemingly independently of each other, in different parts of the world. This has something to do with what you’re talking about, because yes, I think you’re right, there has been a reduction of many kinds of diversity. So when we speak of superdiversity, which we do sometimes in migration studies (Vertovec, 2023), we’re really mainly talking about people who are diverse in the same ways, or rather people who are diverse in compatible ways. They all fit into the template of modernity. So the big paradox here of identity politics is that it expresses similarity more than difference. It’s not really about cultural difference because they rely on a shared language for talking about cultural difference. So in other words, in order to show how different you are from everybody else, you first have to become quite similar. Otherwise, there is a real risk that we’d end up like Ludwig Wittgenstein’s lion. In Philosophical Investigations (Wittgenstein, 1983), he remarks that if a lion could talk, we wouldn’t understand what it was saying. Lévi-Strauss actually says something similar in Tristes Tropiques (Lévi-Strauss, 1976) where he describes meeting an Amazonian people, I think it was the Nambikwara, who are so close that he could touch them, and yet it is as though there were a glass wall between them. That’s real diversity. It’s different in a way that makes translation difficult. And it’s another world. It’s a different ontology. These days, I’m reading a book by Leslie Bank and Nellie Sharpley about the Coronavirus pandemic in South Africa (Bank & Sharpley, 2022), and there are rural communities in the Eastern Cape which don’t trust biomedicine, so many refuse vaccinations. They resist it. They don’t trust it. Perhaps they trust traditional remedies slightly more. This was and is the situation with HIV-AIDS as well. This is a kind of diversity which is understandable and translateable, yet fundamental. You know, there are really different ways in which we see the Cosmos and the universe. So if you take the Marvel films, they’ve really sort of renovated and renewed the superhero phenomenon, which was almost dead when they began to revive it. As a kid around 1970, I was an avid reader of Superman and Batman. I also read a lot of Donald Duck and incidentally, a passion for i paperi and the Donald/Paperino universe is one curious commonality between Italy and Norway. Anyway, with the superheroes, everybody was very white. They represented a the white, conservative version of America. In the renewed Marvel universe, there are lots of literally very strong women, who are independent agents and not just pretty appendages to the men as they had often been in the past. You also had people with different cultural and racial identities. The Black Panther of Wakanda and all the mythology which went with it are very popular in many African countries. It’s huge in Nigeria, for example, and seems to add to the existing diversity. But then again, as we were saying and as you observed, these characters are diverse in comparable within a uniform framework, a pretty rigid cultural grammar which presupposes individualism: there are no very deep cultural differences in the way they see the world. So that’s the new kind of diversity, which really consists more of talking about diversity than being diverse. I should add that the superdiversity perspective is very useful, and I have often drawn on it myself in research on cultural complexity. But it remains framed within the language of modernity.Martina: What you just said makes me think of contradictory dimensions that are, however, held together by the same gaze. How is it that your approach helps hold together processes that nevertheless tell us the same thing about the concept of diversity?Thomas: When we talk about diversity, it may be fruitful to look at it from a different angle. We could look at traditional knowledge and bodily skills among indigenous peoples, for example, and ideas about nature and the afterlife. Typically, some would immediately object that this is wrong and we are right and they should learn science and should go to school, period. But that’s not the point when we approach them as scholars, because then we try to understand their worlds from within and you realize that this world is experienced and perceived in ways which are quite different from ours. One of the big debates in anthropology for a number of years now has concerned the relationship between culture and nature after Lévi-Strauss, the greatest anthropological theorist of the last century. His view was that all cultures have a clear distinction between culture and nature, which is allegedly a universal way of creating order. This view has been challenged by people who have done serious ethnographic work on the issue, from my Oslo colleague Signe Howell’s work in Malaysia to studies in Melanesia, but perhaps mainly in the Amazon, where anthropologists argue that there are many ways of conceptualising the relationship between humans and everything else. Many of these world-views are quite ecological in character. They see us as participants in the same universe as other animals, plants and even rocks and rivers, and might point out that ‘the land does not belong to us – we belong to the land’. That makes for a very different relationship to nature than the predatory, exploitative form typical of capitalist modernity. In other words, in these cultural worlds, there is no clear boundary between us humans and non-humans. If you go in that direction, you will discover that in fact, cultural diversity is about much more than giving rights to minorities and celebrating National Day in different ethnic costumes, or even establishing religious tolerance. That way of talking about diversity is useful, but it should not detract attention from deeper and older forms of diversity.

Іn the scientific work, the authors made the first warning that during the recodification of civil legislation, it is first necessary to create a new version of the Civil Code of Ukraine (hereinafter – the Civil Code) and only after that start work on the project of the Civil Procedure Code of Ukraine (hereinafter – the Civil Procedure Code of Ukraine). However, work on the improvement of the Central Committee can be carried out in parallel and coordinated with the work on the improvement of the Central Committee, but this is extremely difficult to ensure. The authors believe that when starting work on a new edition of the CPC, one should first form its new structure with the systematization of relevant material, since the provisions of the current CPC are not laid out consistently. The judicial system of Ukraine should work within the limits of the law, but the state should find measures of influence on offenders and the demonstration of the will of the authorities is needed not for a short demonstration period, but on a permanent basis.Access to justice in civil proceedings in Ukraine should be discussed through the prism of whether a person with a minimum wage can protect his rights in court. Obviously not, because he cannot pay the large court fee. And this provision does not meet the requirements of Articles 3 and 55 of the Constitution of Ukraine, nor international standards, in particular, Articles 6 and 13 of the European Convention on the Protection of Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, since low-income citizens are, in fact, deprived of the right to access to justice and protection of their rights. Therefore, it is necessary to revise not only the norms of the Code of Civil Procedure, but also the laws of Ukraine «On court fees» and «On free legal aid».The right to appeal to the court for protection should not depend on the level of the plaintiff’s financial condition, if Ukraine is a rule of law state, but should be guaranteed to every person who needs it.Оne of the main issues of the new CPC project should be coordination and interaction of certain types of civil court proceedings, in particular, such as injunctive and claim, therefore the authors proposed ways to solve these issues. The authors paid a lot of attention to the analysis of minor disputes, the criteria for classifying certain categories of cases as minor. The impossibility of classifying labor disputes as minor is substantiated with reference to the Constitution of Ukraine. A reasoned opinion was expressed regarding the impracticality of paying the same court fee, which is paid in both «significant» and minor cases, taking into account the order of their consideration. It is proposed to improve the civil justice system taking into account Recommendation No. R (95) 5 of 02.07.1995 of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.list of shortcomings of the current legislation on civil procedure is given. When applied by the court, they should be considered as an abuse of law by the court. If the CPC does not record the court’s duty to respond to every argument of the party, then all other norms are a camouflage for the legally guaranteed arbitrariness of the judicial branch of government, no matter what proceeding we are talking about. If a person is limited in the right to be heard, then what judicial procedure can we talk about...Certain debatable issues are pointed out, which are subject to discussion and resolution when creating a new version of the CPC. The authors believe that the given arguments and arguments should be submitted for public discussion in order for the new version of the Code of Civil Procedure to be better, not worse, than the current regulatory act.But when implementing the idea of updating and recodifying the Central Committee, making changes to the Central Committee will become objectively inevitable, and not only to the Central Committee. The same applies to Ukraine’s accession to the EU, as it will be necessary to bring the CPC into compliance with the recommendations existing in the European community. no But you cannot make random amendments to the adopted draft law, and the introduction of fragmentary amendments quite often leads to an imbalance of the regulatory act as a whole.

Abstract Sound familiar? Many adults have similar thoughts, but they’re too embarrassed to express them. When you decide to take your child to the pediatrician, you must consider some special issues. The child patient needs to be the focus of the planning as well as the visit. It is hardly ever the child’s idea to go to the doctor and children are outspoken and honest in letting you know that. Listen carefully to your child. Sometimes you will hear fears and misconceptions about the medical visit that you may be able to dispel.

Abstract As you heal and develop awareness of yourself and the world around you, you will be able to influence your relationships becoming more effective. Relationships tend to work best when we come together from positions of clarity about who we are and what we want. The desired levels of connection will vary over time and with different people. Starting relationships slowly is generally wise. People are more likely to be genuinely generous with us if we express our needs in an assertive but not demanding way.

The increased usage of mobile apps has a great potential for the tourism industry. Through the use of mobile apps, web portals and social media may allow a fast and wide diffusion of awareness for museum and attract a large number of visitors, thus increasing the value of their image, with moderate investments. The aim of this chapter is to identify the key factors as antecedents of customer satisfaction for the design of a mobile app for a museum. To this aim, the authors use the Kano model that allows categorizing service attributes according to how they are perceived by customers and estimating their impact on customer satisfaction. This model is adopted in order to identify express and latent needs of cultural tourists and to design a mobile app for museum according to their perceptions and expectations. To apply the Kano model, the authors used qualitative data collected through 300 questionnaires administered to tourists visiting the Sicilian cities of Palermo and Trapani over a period of 3 months (October- December 2012). The results of this analysis can be relevant for museum and public managers to plan strategic and operative activities, for researchers in the field of touristic marketing, for application developers, and for all those concerned with touristic and cultural heritage issues.

The student's only attempts at communication include nonsensical vocal utterances. His family reports that they are not able to understand his basic needs or wants due to his inability to clearly communicate. The student has been tested for additional disabilities and shows no delays in non-verbal intelligence but has been identified as a student with severe language delays. How do you proceed with instruction? A basic background knowledge of deaf children, children in other countries, and deaf children in Vietnam is needed to determine the most effective strategy to teach language and reading skills to this type of student.

If you’ve used e-mail for any time at all, you’ve no doubt had your inbox deluged with messages pitching aphrodisiacs, mortgages, junk stocks, pornography, and substances that claim to help you lose weight in your sleep. But don’t despair. Such messages don’t have to be part of the Internet experience. You can avoid them, or certainly reduce the annoyance level, with a few simple measures. Some spammers harvest e-mail addresses from the Internet by using a “spider” (also known as a robot or crawler)—a computer program that creeps through the World Wide Web collecting information you’d prefer to keep private. So the better you are at hiding your address from faceless prowlers, the less spam you will receive. 1. If your Internet Service Provider gives you the choice, create a long, fairly complicated address preceding the @; don’t just use your first name: donquixote@example.com is better than don@example.com. Better still is donquixotedelamancha@example. com. It may be unwieldy, but your friends can always use a nickname—or just click on your address. Happily, longer addresses confuse spammers, who—without having exact user accounts in hand—use a “dictionary attack” to find them, testing the validity of every possible address from lists of common words and names: arline@example.com, barbara@example.com, and so forth. 2. Again, unless some online service makes it mandatory, don’t use your e-mail address as part of a login name or identity. However convenient that might make it when logging in to eBay, it’s equally convenient for spammers. 3. Use a second, public address for nonpersonal mail and for public posting. Create a free account with Hotmail, Yahoo, or Excite, or set up another screen name if you use either AOL or another Internet Service Provider that allows you to have multiple addresses. This keeps your main address private and exposes only your public address to spammers. Check the public account at least occasionally, in case something innocent has come in. Then massively delete the rest. It’s important to learn how your e-mail client (the program you use to send and receive e-mail) handles thorough deleting; in Outlook Express, for example, you have to delete an e-mail you don’t want from your inbox, delete it from the “Deleted” folder, and then compact folders before you are genuinely rid of it.

When failure analysis and prevention, guided by historical design knowledge, are coupled with product design at its conception, shorter design cycles are possible. By decreasing the design time of a product in this manner, design costs are reduced and the product will better suit the customer’s needs. Prior work indicates that similar failure modes occur within products (or components) with similar functionality. To capitalize on this finding, a knowledge base of historical failure information linked to functionality is assembled for use by designers. One possible use for this knowledge base is within the Elemental Function-Failure Design Method (EFDM). This design methodology and failure analysis tool is implemented during conceptual design and keeps the designer congnizant of failures that are likely to occur based on the product’s functionality. EFDM offers potential improvement over current failure analysis methods, such as FMEA, FMECA, and Fault Tree Analysis, because it can be implemented hand in hand with other conceptual design steps and carried throughout a product’s design cycle. These other failure analysis methods can only truly be effective after a physical design has been completed. EFDM however is only as good as the knowledge base that it draws from, and therefore it is of utmost importance to develop a knowledge base that will be suitable for use across a wide spectrum of products. One fundamental question that arises in using EFDM is: At what level of detail should functional descriptions of components be encoded? This paper explores two approaches to populating a knowledge base with actual failure occurrence information from Bell 206 helicopters. Functional models expressed at various levels of detail are investigated to determine the necessary detail for an applicable knowledge base that can be used by designers in both new designs as well as redesigns. High level and more detailed functional descriptions are derived for each failed component based on NTSB accident reports. To best record this data, standardized functional and failure mode vocabularies are used. Two separate function-failure knowledge bases are then created and compared. Results indicate that encoding failure data using more detailed functional models allows for a more robust knowledge base. Interestingly however, when applying EFDM, high level descriptions continue to produce useful results when using the knowledge base generated from the detailed functional models.

In a no-touch economy brought about by the COVID 19 pandemic, courier services became one of the robust businesses (Dones & Young, 2020) wherein delivery companies offer package pick up, delivery, and monitoring services. This business is powered by people's heavy reliance on online shopping during the quarantine period. On a survey conducted in the Philippines with 120 participants, it was found that 93.3% of the participants are now using courier services from an initial record of 76.6% before the pandemic. It was also revealed that Lalamove and Grab express were preferred courier service providers who utilize their mobile phones to receive transactions, receive order details, communicate with their customers, and navigate efficiently. Phone mounts provide various benefits, including navigation, message tracking, and overall convenience, allowing you to use your phone while driving.Furthermore, this is especially relevant for delivery and courier riders, who may need to change routes, navigate detours, or know where they are going. The use of a phone mount enables convenient, hands-free route monitoring. Most phone mounts allow users to connect their phones to the side mirror's handlebar or the motorcycle's dashboard. The PowerMount addresses the problems identified by the motorcycle riders in Region IV-A CALABARZON and NCR. Furthermore, this study is solely focused on the development of PowerMount, which addresses the issues in security, convenience, durability, design, and sustainability. However, this research will not address additional concerns about the motorbike, other motorcycle equipment, the technicalities of the proposed added feature (power bank), and the rider itself.

The POS-DRU project “Continuous training by means of ‘blended learning’ for higher education teachers” implemented by University of Bucharest in partnership with University Babes-Bolyai from Cluj-Napoca, West University of Timisoara and Softwin company offers to higher education academic staff (HETs) the opportunity to develop a set of complex competencies in order to answer to the challenges addressed by contemporary society and the main beneficiaries of higher education – the students. The general goal of the project aims at offering the opportunity and increasing the participation of HETs to continuous training programs in the following areas: quality assurance; higher education pedagogy (student-centred learning); students’ professional practice, by means of an integrated training program articulated around a blended learning methodology. Blended learning is on the rise in higher education area. Well-grounded researches clearly demonstrate how the blended learning approach embraces the traditional values of face-to-face teaching and integrates the best practices of online learning. Face to face time can be used to engage learners in advanced interactive experiences. Meanwhile, the online sequence of the course can provide learners with multimedia-rich content at any time of day, anywhere they have internet access. This allows for an increase in scheduling flexibility for learners. In addition to flexibility and convenience for learners, studies show early evidence that a blended instructional approach can result in learning outcome gains and increased enrolment retention. Also, this approach has proven to both enhance and expand the effectiveness and efficiency of teaching and learning in higher education across disciplines. These are just a few of the considerations taken into account by the promoters of the project when designing the program dedicated to higher education teachers. As such, the project aimed to answer to a set of clearly expressed needs by HETs that haven’t been given a solution yet, while it develops flexible structures of learning which support lifelong learning and a modern, quality higher education. From the logic of this project, there can be mentioned three major stages of development: (1) analysis of the specific training needs of the persons belonging to the target groups; (2) designing the training modules and courses; (3) delivering / implementing the training activities with the beneficiaries. Between January and April 2010 the training needs’ analysis (TNA) was implemented unfolded by each of the three partner universities. It was based on a complex methodological set of tools consisting of investigation using questionnaires and focus-groups. To this investigation participated more than 700 HETs belonging to the target groups established in the project (managers, internal auditors and members of quality assurance committees, novice HETs and senior HETs, respectively coordinators of professional practice) and covered three regions of economic development (Bucharest, North-Western region and Western region). In the present paper we will focus on the second specific goal Analysis of HETs’ perception regarding the participation to training programs and regarding the desirable strategies for training and/or development and the subsequent items in order to demonstrate the role and value of blended learning for higher education training programs. The questionnaires contained two specific questions relevant to our present interest: Q4. Which of the training methods presented below do you consider to be best suited to your objectives related to the continuous professional training? Q5. How do you appreciate your expertise as a higher education teacher in the field of: a) e-learning; b) blended learning. These two questions and the subsequent answers were considered relevant as they proved that blended learning is perceived as an effective way to design specific programs for the development of higher education teachers, while their expertise in the field is still scarce. These ideas were truly relevant for the proponents in order to build both the content of training as well as the manner of its delivery, while acknowledging the fact that besides the specific competencies aimed by the program at its core, there will be developed the IT competences as well as the lifelong learning competences in enhanced technological environments. The second stage in the project development (May 2010 – October 2011) consisted in the development of the training content and the learning platform. We relied on the rich expertise of our technical partner in developing educational tools for supporting learning in technology enhanced learning environments as well as on the analysis of some other learning platform developed in Romania and dedicated to the continuous training of different professional categories. In the paper we will present some of the main features of the learning platform which promote it as a professional instrument of competence development. Since November 2011 the training courses have started using a face to face approach, also a videoconference system which allows direct communications with trainers from the other university centres and an effective use of resources, while the platform is being used by more than 350 professional both trainers and learners. In the paper we will present some of the opinions of the participants to the training regarding the impact of this particular learning environment.

The effectiveness of foreign languages teaching (and Russian as a foreign language) is determined, in particular, by the quality of the commentary accompanying the texts used in the educational process. In teaching foreign languages lexical and grammatical commentary is usually used to remove language difficulties, as well as cultural comments on some words and expressions explain to foreign students the specific phenomena of Russian culture. However, difficulties in understanding the text when studying Russian as a foreign language indicate the need to expand both the objects of comment and the content of the comment itself. The solution of this applied problem directly depends on linguistic knowledge that reveals the categories and units of the text, the peculiarities of its semantic composition, the specific speech organization caused by a particular type of text. Texts about scientists are relevant in teaching a foreign language. They showed the relevance of three varieties: 1) texts implementing the semantic model “A person and his actions” (tell about the activities of a scientist); 2) texts implementing the model “A Person and his qualitative characteristics” (express an assessment of the personality of a scientist, convey an opinion about a scientist); 3) texts combining the first two types. This third type usually placed in a more general, abstract context of reasoning (related to a particular problem of scientific activity of a scientist). Commentary as a possible tool for interpreting texts of these types indicates the necessary objects of training commenting, revealing their content in accordance with the text-characteristics of a particular type of text. Comments allow you to introduce lexical and syntactic material that ensures the implementation of author’s intentions, to reveal the information structure of the text, implications, logical and semantic connections of the components of the text structure. Abstract In order to simulate the stall boundary of a compressor more accurately under steam ingestion condition, a two-dimensional stability analysis model is developed. The model simulates compressor flow by solving compressible, two-dimensional, unsteady Euler equations with appropriate source terms. Normally, viscosity is considered for compressor flow when compressor characteristics, expressed by the Navier-Stokes equations or experiments, are used to calculate the source terms, and engineering applications pay more attention to compressor characteristics rather than detailed flow field. Therefore, the control equations are assumed to be non-viscous in this work. A corrected correlation method that does not need numerous computations under different proportions of steam is proposed at present. The method reflects the effects of gas properties on the compressor characteristic lines — a quality absent in traditional correlation method. It is most significant for the paper to adopt the proposed corrected correlation to reduce the number of independent parameters that describe compressor characteristics under different proportions of steam compared with the traditional correlation. Then the source terms associate with compressor inlet parameters by adopting the corrected correlation method to establish a modified model. The model is used to calculate the stall boundary under steam ingestion, and the results are compared with clean condition to investigate the effects of steam properties on stall boundary. As more steam is ingested, the corrected similar flow increases at the stall point while the total pressure ratio decreases when total temperature distortion remains constant. If you want to describe compressor characteristics under ingesting other gases, just modify these parameters related to gas properties in the corrected correlation.
