Biomass utilisation has been one of the most pertinent topics in the field of sustainability. An example of biomass resource usage is renewable electricity (REL) using bioresources (Bio-REL). Although Bio-REL is widely disseminated globally, existing research suggests that it may be less economically efficient than other REL sources. The cost of Bio-REL has not changed in recent years, but the cost of solar or photovoltaic (PV) REL has been significantly reduced. Some studies also assert that retail Bio-REL is preferred less than PV-REL. As this is not well established in the literature, this study analysed the average levelised costs of energy (LCOE) and preferences for retail Bio-REL and PV-REL while focusing on the case of Japan. The results indicate that the average LCOE of retail Bio-REL was 1.4 times greater than that of PV-REL, while the willingness to pay (WTP) for Bio-REL was about half. The analysis has considerable relevance for countries other than Japan with comparative cost and preference for both REL sources. The research raises an important issue regarding the efficiency of the strategy of REL dissemination and proposes that a comprehensive economic analysis of the social benefits of Bio-REL be conducted.

Korea and Indonesia are economic partners. And Indonesia is the target country of Korea's official development assistance. Currently, legal exchanges between Korea and Indonesia are actively progressing in terms of legislation. Since Indonesia has strong social, cultural, and regional diversity, the legal system and contents of real estate legislation are complicated and difficult to access. Legal exchanges between Korea and Indonesia on real estate legislation need to review the Rule of Law Index by the World Justice Project. In this case, it is necessary to apply the criteria of Constrains on Government Powers and Open Government. After applying these standards, strong matters that are value-neutral and procedural should be selected as specific targets for exchange of real estate legislation. After that, various discussions on legal improvement should be held. In addition, it is necessary to look at the economic feasibility of legislation and the ease of access to legislation. In other words, it is necessary to carry out legal exchanges to establish a legislative system that can concisely and uniformly regulate Indonesia's complex real estate legislation.

The purpose of the research is to determine the biological and economic effectiveness of fungicides of various chemical groups against necrotrophic pathogens Phoma lingam (Tode) Desm. and Alternaria sp. on spring rapeseed crops in the south of the Non-Chernozem zone. A significant effect in curbing the development and prevalence of these diseases was after the application of fungicides Spirit, SK (azoxystrobin 240 g/l + epoxiconazole 160 g/l) at a rate of 0.7 l/ha and Kolosal Pro (propiconazole 300 g/l) + tebuconazole 200 g/ha) at a rate of 0.5 l/ha with double treatment of spring rape crops in the phase of formation of a rosette of leaves - transition to stem formation (BBCH-25-30) and in the flowering phase of the harvest (BBCH-63-65). The decrease in the prevalence of Alternaria blight by the yellow-green bean phase in these variants ranged from 64 to 65%rel, in development – from 73 to 75%rel, the prevalence of Phoma rot – from 62 to 67%rel, in development from 68 to 79%rel accordingly to the control variant. The greatest economic efficiency was after double treatment of rapeseed with Kolosal Pro - 47% (2,83 t/ha).

The concept of active ageing arises in response to the challenges posed by the demographic changes that Europe faces. Thus, economic policy has included this concept in its strategy to extend the quality of life of the older people without compromising public finances. The main aim of this work is to analyse the association between two dimensions of this phenomenon: the labour participation of the older people and their impact on health. To this end, we use microdata from the Survey on Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe for the period 2004-2017. Our main results highlight the importance of people older than 50 remaining active to enjoy better health levels.

AbstractReligious studies courses frequently justify their existence with the rhetoric of “value.” While appeasing the socio-economic concerns of college boards, this undermines the work of more critical approaches under the field’s big tent. The following paper responds to this disconcerting trend by casting religious studies as an analytical discipline that takes “evaluation” as its object of study. It details a way of navigating the critical turn using Michel de Certeau’s notion of “scriptural economy” as a pedagogical framework for three lower-level, undergraduate classes: REL-101Signifying Religion: An African American Worldview, REL-226Introduction to the New Testament, and REL-293Introduction to Islam. Students theorize religion as a heuristic for studying how bodies are conscribed, prescribed, described, and inscribed in relation to evaluative systems.

ABSTRACT China is popularizing the Belt Road Initiative or abbreviated as BRI, which is an ambitious development plan involving many regions throughout the world. One of BRI's projects is the construction of the Kunming-Singapore railroad track. BRI's motives are still confusing between the economy and geopolitics. Not to mention, there is a paradox in China's leadership statement regarding BRI as a political or economic foreign policy tool. As a result, the railroad project also has a mixed motive. This research attempts to uncover the motive of Kunming-Singapore Railroad construction project. This study tries to analyze this phenomenon with three concepts, offensive realism, commercial liberalism, and Giovanni Arrighi's capitalism mode. The results of this study show that the railroad project has economic and geopolitical factors behind it. Economic and geopolitical factors are both dominating and complementing China's decision to invest in this project due to changes in the structure of the domestic and international economy and to maximize wealth in order to become a Great Power. Keywords: ABSTRAK Tiongkok sedang mempopulerkan Belt Road Initiative atau disingkat BRI, yang merupakan sebuah rencana pembangunan ambisius yang melibatkan banyak kawasan di seluruh dunia. Salah satu proyek BRI adalah pembangunan jalur rel kereta api Kunming-Singapura. Motif BRI saat ini masih simpang siur, antara ekonomi dan geopolitik. Belum lagi, ada paradoks dalam pernyataan kepemimpinan Tiongkok terkait BRI sebagai alat politik atau ekonomi. Walhasil, proyek jalur rel kereta api ini juga memiliki motif yang simpang siur. Penelitian ini mencoba untuk mengungkap proyek pembangunan Jalur Rel Kereta Api Kunming-Singapura. Penelitian ini mencoba menganalisis fenomena ini dengan tiga konsep, offensive realism, commercial liberalism, dan mode kapitalisme Giovanni Arrighi, Hasil dari penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa proyek jalur kereta api ini memiliki faktor ekonomi dan geopolitik yang melatarbelakanginya. Faktor ekonomi maupun geopolitik sama-sama mendominasi dan saling melengkapi keputusan Tiongkok untuk berinvestasi dalam proyek ini disebabkan karena perubahan struktur ekonomi domestik dan internasional serta berupaya untuk memaksimalkan kekayaan agar dapat menjadi Great Power. An unregistered lease is a lease that has not been registered even though there is a lease agreement. This is a widely used method of real estate rights. Usually, a ‘cheonse’ is a property right under the Civil Code, which requires an agreement to establish a cheonse and payment of a ‘cheonse’. Then, based on ‘property right legalism’, the ‘cheonse’ is registered and has the effect of a property right under civil law. However, in the absence of registration, the ‘cheonse’ is only a bond with the agreement of the parties. Therefore, the status of an unregistered ‘cheonse’ is promise. ‘The Residential Tenancy Protection Act’ applies to unregistered leases to protect the status of unregistered ‘cheonse’. However, unregistered ‘cheonse’ are still economically unstable. And there is still legal instability. This has recently become a problem with “empty can cheonse” or “cheonse scams”. We will look at how to ensure legal stability based on the nature of unregistered ‘cheonse’, and how to ensure economic stability based on the role and function of security deposits for unregistered ‘cheonse’.

Cina berkeinginan untuk melakukan percepatan kegiatan ekonomi dan memperluas jalur sutra melalui pembangunan infrastruktur. Untuk mencapai keinginan tersebut Cina melakukan hubungan kerjasama dengan negara tetangga, yaitu Pakistan. Kerjasama ini tertuang dalam China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Cina menginvestasikan sebesar US$ 46 Million untuk pembangunan infrastruktur di Pakistan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kerjasama antara Cina-Pakistan merupakan kerjasama bilateral yang bersifat teknik melalui pembangunan infrastruktur meliputi jalan raya, rel kereta api, dan pelabuhan di Pakistan dengan tujuan memperpendek waktu dan jarak tempuh jalur perdagangan Cina.

Abstract Background Hospital-acquired and ventilator-associated bacterial pneumonia (HABP/VABP) is associated with high rates of morbidity and mortality; this is often worse among patients who experience a delay in receiving appropriate therapy. Initial treatment choice and early adjustment occurs prior to pathogen susceptibility results and may be based on suspicion of a resistant infection and/or clinical deterioration. This study assesses the cost effectiveness of Imipenem/cilastatin/relebactam (IMI/REL) in an early adjustment prescribing scenario compared to PIP/TAZ for patients with high risk of resistant infection from a US perspective. Methods Although early adjustment data was not directly available, pathogen susceptibility data derived from 2017-19 Study for Monitoring Antimicrobial Resistance Trends (SMART) surveillance program was applied to estimate patients who may have clinical worsening, likely due to a resistant infection. The efficacy and safety data for IMI/REL and PIP/TAZ were informed by the modified intent-to-treat population of a phase III trial (RESTORE-IMI 2). Our analysis comprised a decision tree (reflecting hospitalization period) followed by a yearly Markov model (capturing lifetime impact). The decision tree captured short-term outcomes (clinical cure, all-cause mortality, and hospital resource use). The Markov model translated short term outcomes into quality-adjusted life years (QALYs). Results were expressed as an incremental cost-effectiveness ratio (ICER). Sensitivity analyses were conducted to test the robustness of model results. Results Compared with PIP/TAZ, IMI/REL in the early adjustment setting was associated with increased costs (&10,087 per patient) but a higher cure (+7%) and lower mortality (-3%) rate. The resulting ICER (&12,173/QALY) falls well below typical US willingness to pay thresholds. Model drivers were the SMART-based susceptibility profiles and RESTORE-IMI 2 response and mortality rates. Conclusion Our results suggest that IMI/REL, used as an early adjustment option, could be considered cost effective for patients with worsening HABP/VABP in a US setting, when compared against PIP/TAZ. With the outbreak of COVID-19, the importance of rural areas has been gradually highlighted, and the importance of rural ecological livability has been gradually recognized. A growing body of literature recognizes the importance of building a rural ecological livability (REL) system. It is urgent that we clarify the status quo and spatial-temporal differences in and distributional characteristics of rural ecological livability and that we carry out targeted and differentiated construction to promote rural ecological livability in post-epidemic China. This study proposes a conceptual model that incorporates various economic, social and environmental factors and develops a comprehensive multifactor (production-living-ecology) evaluation system. Using Fujian Province as an example, the entropy weight method is used to measure the REL level of 55 counties and cities, which are comprehensively evaluated from 2015 to 2019. Moran's I and Getis-Ord Gi* are used to analyze the spatial and distributional characteristics of the REL level in Fujian. The results show that the level of REL in Fujian Province has been relatively flat over the past five years, with a slight downward trend. The overall value of the rural ecological livability index in 2015 was 0.345, and its overall value in 2019 was 0.334, with an average value of 0.343. The REL of Fujian Province is spatially correlated, with high levels of livability in the southeast and low levels in the northeast. The autocorrelation in the level of ecological livability in Fujian's counties and cities continues to increase.

This study is to find ways to respond to Korea’s low-growth and aging issues with suggesting a future residential complex model through advanced domestic and international cases. The 50+ community shows a new vision for building a preemptive housing system, spreading private-led service supply, and further creating an “Aging In Place” environment. Active seniors in their 50s and 60s are the generations not only with relatively large assets, but also with poor economic and residential conditions due to divorce, business failure, and unemployment. It is also necessary to develop community-based social support service system to support housing, stable income and leisure activities, and create premium housing services to fulfill their unmet needs and trendy lifestyles especially for active seniors with high income. In the United States, the senior housing business is expanding centering on large private construction companies’ franchises. In addition, various service infrastructures, such as 50+ community, independent living, assisted living, nursing home, and dementia care home, are built together in a huge complex according to the consumer’s requirements. In Europe, senior citizens live in flat, apartments, condos, share homes, or houses and use community-based social welfare service and programs. The famous European retirement communities are usually surrounded by the beautiful natural environment with luxurious resort facilities. The 50 plus community is a preemptive model that can contribute to the creation of the “Aging In Place” environment in Korea. It is also necessary to develop a new ageing-friendly residential complex model for encouraging investments of the private sectors. A private-led 50+ community model is to be differentiated from the public-centered model which mainly focus on supporting daily living services for super-aged, low-income, and disabled seniors. The preemptive new model may be triggering a new senior housing business and solve the social problems in this super-aged society.

The supply of housing and housing sites in Korea has been mainly centered on public development. However, such public development-oriented supply does not properly respond to changes in the social structure, such as changes in population and household structure and diversification of housing demand. In the case of the first and second new cities, which are representative public developments, development was carried out according to different supply purposes based on the 」Housing Site Development Promotion Act「. In the case of the recent third new city, the ground law was changed to the Special Act on Public Housing, not the 「Housing Site Development Promotion Act」, and factors to meet social demand were reflected. However, based on various special laws in supplying large-scale public housing sites centered on new cities, problems often arise due to inconsistencies with existing national space plans or urban plans or lack of connection with higher plans. In addition, as a result of the creation and supply of large-scale public housing sites, the real estate economic recession due to short-term oversupply, unsold problems, regional conflicts, and distortion of housing supply and demand. Problems with reckless development or bed towns arise as the housing site supply plan does not reflect the characteristics of the region and focuses on specific policy purposes such as the dispersion of the population in the metropolitan area. Furthermore, problems include inconsistency between plans and laws in the public housing supply legal system, inefficiency and rigidity in business procedures and housing site supply methods, and lack of urban function and project disconnection due to bias centered on the supply of large-scale housing sites. Accordingly, through the analysis of the legal system for the creation and supply of public housing sites, measures to improve the legislation for efficient and sustainable cities were proposed. It suggested improvement directions according to changes in the goals, policy directions, functions, and roles of the 「Special Act on Public Housing」, which is the basis for the supply of public housing sites, and suggested ways to improve the consistency of the legal system. In addition, measures to strengthen the functional elements of the city were reviewed by creating large-scale public housing districts centered on the 「Special Act on Public Housing」, efficient management of the created housing sites, and acceptance of social changes. Above all, in order to ensure the sustainability of the city, the direction of improvement in the overall legal system was suggested, from the planning stage to urban management after the supply of housing sites.

Standard test methods for measuring imbibition gas-brine relative permeability on reservoir core samples often lead to non-uniform brine saturation. During co-current flow, the brine tends to bank up at the sample inlet and redistributes slowly, even with fractional flow of gas to brine of 400:1 or more. The first reliable Rel Perm point is often only attained after a brine saturation of around Sw=40% is achieved, leaving a data gap between Swirr and this point. The consequent poor definition of the shape of the Rel Perm function can lead to uncertainty in the performance of gas reservoirs undergoing depletion drive with an encroaching aquifer or subjected to a water flood. We have developed new procedures to pre-condition brine saturation outside of the test rig and progress it in small increments to fill in the data gap at low Sw, before continuing with a co-current flood to the gas permeability end-point. The method was applied to series of sandstone samples from gas reservoirs from the NW Shelf of Australia, and a Berea standard. We found that the complete imbibition relative permeability curve is typically ‘S’ shaped or has a rolling over, convex-up shape that is markedly different from the concave-up, Corey Rel Perm curve usually fitted to SCAL test data. This finding may have an economic upside if the reservoir produces gas at a high rate for longer than was originally predicted based on the old Rel Perm curves.

Almost all developments of transportation facilities and infrastructure have positive and negative impacts on the ecological environment, social, and economic, such as the construction of rail lines and Light Rapid Transit (LRT) stations. The construction of rail lines and Light Rapid Transit (LRT) stations, both surface and elevated, has had various effects on the ecological environment, social and economic both during pre-construction, construction, and post-construction. The purpose of this paper is to identify the ecological environmental impacts due to green open space used for the construction of LRT rail lines and stations, especially the Jabodebek LRT line phase 1 in the city of Jakarta. This research was conducted by collecting data on the planning and construction of the 26 KM-long phases 1 rail line and LRT station. for the construction of rail lines and LRT station buildings. The results of the study show that with the rail pattern (elevated rail) it is possible to minimize the green open space used for the construction of rails and LRT stations. This study also recommends landscape proposals with vertical gardens on rail support pillars and station buildings as a substitute for some of the used green open space.

Recently, fractional investment for real estate (hereafter “FIR”), a new investment instrument that allows investors to buy expensive real estate with smaller capital, is gaining a lot of attention in the market. Fractional investment means owning a fraction or portion of the real property or the right of property, by more than one investor. In the Korean market, a real estate trust is mainly used as the form of transaction in relation to the FIR on the FIR investment platform, and there is also a case where a real estate fund is used. The current FIR instruments or services recognized in Korea, however, include some elements that may not be allowed by relevant laws and regulations such as the Financial Investment Services and Capital Markets Act (hereafter ”FISCMA”). Considering this respect, the FIR instruments currently available in the Korean market have been either designated as ”Innovative Financial Service” under the Special Act on Support for Financial Innovation or granted “Special Case for Demonstration” under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Regulation of Regulation-free Special Zones and Special Economic Zones for Specialized Regional Development to grant regulatory exemptions, such that the FIR products can be transacted on the platforms through trust beneficiary certificates or collective investment securities, without obtaining authorization for financial investment business and permission for the exchange market of the FIR. But, the problem is that such regulatory exemptions are only temporarily granted. Therefore, all relevant laws and regulations should be rearranged before the exemptions expire for the FIR business entities to continue to engage in their businesses by obtaining approval based on the newly arranged rules. Or, they should immediately acquire the necessary license and permission for their business to comply with those regulations that have been exempted from the application so far. For reference, major global countries including the U.S., EU, and Singapore are also overhauling related regulatory systems to vitalize and internationalize the digital asset market. Due to the nature of the FIR structure based on an agreement on real estate management and disposal trust (hereafter “RTA”), the FIR investors hold beneficiary rights to get the distribution of profits earned from the operation and/or disposal of real estate trust in proportion to their investment amount. The two main forms of the FIR currently recognized in Korea are (a) sharing beneficiary right for the issued security where only one security is issued (so-called, “quasimiteigentum”), and (b) holding the beneficiary security where the security is equally divided into multiple securities among the investors and registered electronically pursuant to the Act on Electronic Registration Of Stocks, Bonds, Etc. (hereafter “Electronic Registration Act”). Meanwhile, the FIR platforms are now applying blockchain-based Distributed Ledger Technology so that the digital tokens which would be equivalent to the beneficiary security of the real estate trust can be used for transactions. In relation to fractional investment, the Financial Services Commission (FSC) recently published 2 significant legislative plans that seem to reflect such environmental change: i) the Guideline for New Securities Business Including Fractional Investment on 29 April 2022, and ii) the Maintenance Plan of Regulation System for Security Token Offering(hereafter ”STO Plan”) on 6 February 2023. According to the STO Plan, the FSC has defined the Security Token as “the digitalized security of FISCMA based on Distributed Ledger Technology”. By applying such definition criteria to the FIR, the digital tokens used in lieu of the beneficiary securities in the FIR market could be regarded as a kind of Security Token as defined under the STO Plan.

The article presents the results of expert surveys analyses conducted by the authors in some northern and Arc-tic regions of the Russian Federation in 2021 and 2022. The purpose of this article is to update the problems identified by experts which impede the efficient socio-economic development of municipalities in the designat-ed regions on the basis of the analysis of sociological information and to identify ways to overcome such prob-lems. The scientific novelty of the study consists in a comprehensive assessment of the expert surveys results, which allowed to detect the most significant problems of socio-economic development of municipalities in some Arctic and northern regions. The practical significance of the research is determined by the development of research and practice recommendations for the improvement of management decisions to mitigate the problems of housing and communal services, insufficient financial resources, personnel training and their rel-evance for the labour market of the specified territories, and the development of entrepreneurial activity.

This research was conducted in the underpass of the flyover in the Ampera Medan road corridor. The purpose and objective is to provide scientific concepts related to the spatial arrangement under flyovers that are not currently well managed and tend to cause acts of vandalism in the space. The construction of flying cross-construction in several plot areas is generally a new open open space linearly. underneath. Thus the space under the flyover which was initially unproductive will become a point of interest for the surrounding environment. Furthermore, a well-organized space and area will certainly generate economic growth through the support of a well-planned and correct management system. Based on a spatial analysis that is adapted to the function of public space, good planning and management is needed to support and maintain the continuity of activities through creativity and interesting information for the public in public spaces under the Ampera Medan railway flyover. The arrangement of open areas located in flyover and railway areas often creates contradictions and social problems that are quite crucial, especially related to state-owned land ownership. The open space under the Ampera Medan road overpass is currently a lost area (unproductive land) and an act of vandalism that contains immoral messages. The arrangement of open spaces located on the railway underpass as a public space will provide a positive image for the area and become an attractive place for the city of Medan with the availability of jogging tracks as a sports venue, performance arena and social interaction space for the community

Sumatera Barat juga mendukung pariwisata untuk mendukung pembangunan ekonomi. Adapun rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah: 1) bagaimana peranan investasi dalam pembangunan ekonomi di bidang pariwisata di Sumatera Barat? 2) bagaimana dukungan pemerintah terhadap pem-bangunan ekonomi di bidang pariwisata di Sumatera Barat? Penelitian hukum yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian hukum normatif dengan metode pendekatan yuridis normatif. Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa peranan investasi dalam pembangunan ekonomi di bidang pariwisata sangat penting, terutama untuk memudahkan pembangunan pariwisata di Sumatera Barat. Dukungan pemerintah terhadap pembangunan ekonomi di bidang pariwisata di Sumatera Barat ditandai dengan pembangunan infrastruktur pariwisata, pembangunan rel kereta api sebagai moda transportsai serta pemberian pinjaman dan dimudahkannya pemberian izin di dalam berinvestasi di Sumatera Barat oleh BKPM. Role Investment in Development Policy of Tourism Economics in West Sumatera Province Tourism becomes a national priority in the 2015 2015 RPJM. Gradually from year to year within a 5-year period of RPJM 2015-2019 tourism development is prioritized and targeted for achievement. West Sumatra also supports tourism to support economic development. The formulation of the problem in this study are: 1) how the role of investment in economic development in the field of tourism in West Sumatra? 2) how is government support for economic development in tourism sector in West Sumatera? The legal research that is researched in this research is normative legal. The results of this study explain that the role of investment in economic development in the field of tourism is very important, especially to facilitate the development of tourism in West Sumatra. Driven by economic expansion, urbanization, and population growth, the world is witnessing an escalating demand for water, energy, land, and food, posing substantial threats to the sustainable development of societies and economies. Given the intricate interdependencies inherent within the water–energy–land–food (WELF) system, it is imperative to conduct comprehensive assessments of the coupling coordination and sustainable development of the WELF system over long time scales and diverse characteristic dimensions. This study selects Hebei province, China, as the research region, constructing a comprehensive indicator system spanning from 1980 to 2020 using three dimensions: reliability (Rel), robustness (Rob), and equilibrium (Equ). The degree of coupling coordination (DCC) and sustainable development index (SDI) were developed using the comprehensive evaluation index and coupling coordination degree model. Additionally, the obstacle degree model and gray relational degree model were employed to assess the indicators that hinder or promote the SDI. The results indicate that: (1) The DCC (range of 0–1, bigger the better) of the WELF system increased from 0.65 to 0.75 between 1980 and 1998, then fluctuated between 0.75 and 0.69, stabilizing at a moderate level of coordinated development after 2015. (2) For the WELF system in Hebei, as Rel increased, Rob decreased, and Equ increased; similarly, as Rob increased, Equ also increased. (3) The SDI (range of 0–1, bigger the better) rose from 0.45 in 1980, initially increased, then decreased, and eventually stabilized. After 2014, it experienced rapid growth, reaching 0.54 by 2020, indicating an improvement in sustainable development capability. (4) Indicators related to the Equ dimension and the land subsystem were more critical limiting factors for SDI development, while indicators related to the Rel dimension and the food subsystem were more significant contributors to SDI development. These findings offer a scientific foundation and practical insights for Hebei and comparable regions, aiding in the resolution of resource conflicts, optimization of resource allocation, and enhancement of regional sustainable development.

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has caused over six million deaths and huge economic burdens worldwide. Antivirals against its causative agent, SARS-CoV-2, are in urgent demand. Previously, we reported that heterocylic compounds, i.e., chloroquine (CQ) and hydroxychloroquine (HCQ), are potent in inhibiting SARS-CoV-2 replication in vitro. In this study, we discussed the syntheses of two novel heterocylic compounds: tert-butyl rel-4-(((3R,4S)-3-(1H-indol-3-yl)-1-oxo-2-propyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinolin-4-yl)methyl)piperazine-1-carboxylate (trans-1) and rel-(3R,4S)-3-(1H-indol-3-yl)-4-(piperazin-1-ylmethyl)-2-propyl-3,4-dihydroisoquinolin-1(2H)-one (trans-2), which effectively suppressed authentic SARS-CoV-2 replication in Vero E6 cells. Compound trans-1 showed higher anti-SARS-CoV-2 activity than trans-2, with a half maximal effective concentration (EC50) of 3.15 μM and a selective index (SI) exceeding 63.49, which demonstrated comparable potency to CQ or HCQ. Additional anti-SARS-CoV-2 tests on Calu-3 human lung cells showed that trans-1 efficiently inhibited viral replication (EC50 = 2.78 μM; SI: > 71.94) and performed better than CQ (EC50 = 44.90 μM; SI = 2.94). The time of an addition assay showed that the action mechanism of trans-1 differed from that of CQ, as it mainly inhibited the post-entry viral replication in both Vero E6 and Calu-3 cells. In addition, the differences between the antiviral mechanisms of these novel compounds and CQ were discussed.

Objective: The objective of this analysis was to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of imipenem/cilastatin/relebactam compared to colistin-imipenem in the treatment of hospitalized patients with Gram-negative bacterial infections caused by imipenem-resistant pathogens. The perspective was both that of the National Health Service (NHS) and the social one. Methodology: A mixed model was developed to simulate a cohort of patients capable of highlighting the impacts of the disease on the quality of life and the absorption of economic resources of the patients in analysis. Modelled patients were those with hospital-acquired bacterial pneumonia/ventilator-associated bacterial pneumonia (HABP/VABP), complicated intra-abdominal infection (cIAI) or complicated urinal tract infection (cUTI) caused by carbapenem-resistant Gram-negative (GN) pathogens. The model begins with a short-term decision tree describing possible treatment routes and outcomes for patients during the hospitalization period. Patients who are healed in the decision tree enter the long-term Markov model, designed to capture the follow-up costs and health-related quality of life (HRQL) of patients healed over their lifetime. Results: The analysis, conducted on a hypothetical cohort of 1,000 patients, highlights how the use of imipenem/cilastatin/relebactam is advantageous both in terms of diagnosis and treatment in the short term and in terms of cost-effectiveness. In fact, it is dominant compared to colistin-imipenem both in the NHS and in the social perspective since, compared to an average saving of € 2,800.15 and € 3,174.63 respectively, it would generate an increase of 4.76 years of life and of 4.12 QALYs per patient.

Between 1889 and 1890, John Wilson and his family were among nearly three thousand African American settlers to enter Oklahoma Territory, where Wilson's two daughters first attended an integrated school. The Wilson family was undoubtedly drawn by the educational and economic opportunities that were present in the fluid space—opportunities that did not always exist elsewhere in the country. Yet the territorial legislature sought to narrow those opportunities, which it did by segregating the schools. Wilson and his family did not accept this limitation and fought back through both the courts and active resistance. This article examines that first legal challenge to the segregated school system: Territory ex rel. Wilson v. Marion et al. This case informs not only our understanding of the durability of racism in an actively contested western space but also the forms of African American resistance to the reactivation of racial hierarchy.

Abstract Transportation sector development is one of the sub sectors that is important to support economic development. Poor transportation sector will develop human activities. One type of transportation is a train that has a special line and avoid congestion, Sometimes the train also cut off the highway, so the railway door is made to function to secure the train journey and guarded the door keepers. The problem in the concern at PT KAI is human error, One example of human error is a door keepers undisciplined in closing the railway door gates. One of the danger areas is Jember Regency which is located in DAOP IX, it is because Jember Regency had the most railway door in DAOP IX and has many crossings in the settlement area. The results of observations before the study found some workers who show symptoms of work stress. Jember regency had 12 official railway door and there are 47 door keepers who are all male. The door keepers are mostly 25-40 years old, have a working period of 1-5 years, have married marriage status, and have children <3, have wage / salary Rp.1.500.000-Rp.3.500.000, almost half of the respondents experienced fatigue and severe stress. The results of the study found there is a relationship between age, employment, marital status, wages / salary with work stress, but fatigue and wages/salary are not related to work stress.Keywords: Work Stress, Human error, Door keepers.

Abstract People travel from one region to another is carried out for various reasons, with one of which is to meet economic needs. The availability of transportation services, including land transportation, affects the mobility of people who make these trips. Opportunities to work that provide better income are an important factor for someone to migrate, especially for groups of people of productive age. The purpose of this study is to identify labor mobility patterns. The results obtained can enrich knowledge about labor mobility in Indonesia. This study shows that roundtrip mobility and circular mobility are the travel patterns that are mostly chosen by workers in metropolitan areas, using road and rail transportation modes. Roundtrip mobility and circular mobility always grow significantly every year, even though during the Covid-19 pandemic they experienced a decline. Kesempatan untuk bekerja yang memberikan penghasilan yang lebih baik menjadi faktor penting bagi seseorang untuk bermigrasi, terutama bagi kelompok masyarakat dengan usia produktif. Tujuan studi ini adalah mengidentifikasi pola mobilitas tenaga pekerja. Hasil yang diperoleh dapat memperkaya pengetahuan tentang mobilitas tenaga kerja di Indonesia. Upward convergence, that is an improvement of Members States’ economic and social indicators’ performance, is a core policy target of the European Union. This concept isembodied in the European Pillar of social rights (EPSR) proclaimed by EU leaders in 2017. In 2018 Eurofound has developed a methodology to measure convergence, which has beenimplemented in the convergEU R package described in this work (rel. 0.5.0). The package extends the original STATA toolbox developed by Eurofound beyond the calculations ofthe four main measures of convergence as it provides functions to download, filter, impute, smooth indicators. Country and indicator fiches are automatically prepared and compiledin HTML format. Graphical output includes qualitative patterns of change along time to emphasize the key behaviour of an indicator with respect to the average of an aggregationof Member States. Besides EU Member States, the analysis of other collections of regions is supported for general indicators if context information is provided. A user-friendly,no coding required, shiny-based web application provides policy makers with a tool to produce convergence reports on selected indicators and countries.

Several studies have been conducted regarding the object of humour based research but few attention has been given Cartoon Motivated humour (CMH) in Nigerian discourse. Thus, this study explores a pragmatic study of political humour in selected political cartoons. It investigates humour that reflect the corruption, embezzlement, economic and health challenges in Nigeria shared through the selected political cartoons. The theoretical framework adopted is Jacob Mey's Pragmatic Act Theory. A total of Twelve (12) data were purposively selected from three different newspapers (The Punch, The Daily Trust and The Vanguard). The paper found out that the humour in political cartoon is to evoke laughter with the intention to correct the societal ills of the political leaders. This is achieved through the practs of informing, castigating, ridiculing, exposing, blaming, etc. The paper also revealed that pragmatic elements such as inference, (INF), Relevance (REL), Reference (REF) and Shared Situational Knowledge (SSK) were used to expose the hidden messages in the selected political cartoons. The study also examines the use of language in political humour and the study employs qualitative method of research. The study reveals the inference, reference, inferred alongside the Shared Situational Knowledge meaning of the data used which played a crucial role in understanding the interpretation of the pract performed in political cartoon. The paper concludes that the humour in political cartoon doesn't only evoke laughter but correct societal ills and the way language is used by political leaders in Nigeria.

Coronaviruses are RNA viruses that cause significant disease within many species, including cattle. Bovine coronavirus (BCoV) infects cattle and wild ruminants, both as a respiratory and enteric pathogen, and possesses a significant economic threat to the cattle industry. Transcription factors are proteins that activate or inhibit transcription through DNA binding and have become new targets for disease therapies. This study utilized in silico tools to identify potential transcription factors that can serve as biomarkers for regulation of BCoV pathogenesis in cattle, both for testing and treatment. A total of 11 genes were identified as significantly expressed during BCoV infection through literature searches and functional analyses. Eleven transcription factors were predicted to target those genes (AREB6, YY1, LMO2, C-Rel, NKX2-5, E47, RORAlpha1, HLF, E4BP4, ARNT, CREB). Function, network, and phylogenetic analyses established the significance of many transcription factors within the immune response. This study establishes new information on the transcription factors and genes related to host-pathogen interactome in BCoV infection, particularly transcription factors YY1, AREB6, LMO2, and NKX2, which appear to have strong potential as diagnostic markers, and YY1 as a potential target for drug therapies.

The purpose of the article is to analyze and generalize the current state and development trends of domestic business entities of the real sector of the national economy of Ukraine in the context of the establishment of prerequisites for their economic security. The article focuses on the relevance of the study of the current state of economic security in the real sector of the national economy of Ukraine. The analysis of production volumes and sales of products by industrial enterprises was carried out. The structure of industrial production in Ukraine is analyzed from the point of view of the economic security of domestic enterprises. The characteristics of the main indicators of the development of industrial enterprises of Ukraine in the context of ensuring their economic security are given. The key indicators of the development of industrial enterprises in the system of functioning of the national economy of Ukraine have been demonstrated. The key indicators of the volume and efficiency of the functioning of enterprises in such branches of the national economy of Ukraine as agriculture, agrarian and construction sectors, transport, warehousing, postal and courier activities, transport and communication are summarized. Conclusions are made in the context of modern trends in the development of domestic enterprises of the real sector of the national economy and their impact on the prerequisites for ensuring the economic security of economic entities. It is proved that the development of industry and the real sector of the economy of Ukraine has a controversial nature with signs of uncertainty in the direction of progress, lack of stable financial support for production, in particular products with high added value, and investment guarantee for innovative and technological modernization. Based on the results of the indicative and structural-temporal analysis, the existential challenges of the development and preservation of financial security of the priority sectors of the economy were determined. The applied value of the research results lies in the identification of problematic aspects of the state and development trends of domestic enterprises of the real sector of the national economy in the context of ensuring their economic security. The scientific novelty of the research results lies in the improvement of the methodology for identifying the conditions for ensuring the economic security of enterprises.

BACKGROUND: Winter injury often threatens phenology and walnut survival in late spring and winter in northern areas of China. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed at evaluating seven walnut varieties which have superior economic traits. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Mature functional leaves were observed by paraffin section and the related anatomical structure indices were measured. The stem segments were placed at six temperatures [4 (control), -10, -15, -20, -25, -30°C] for low temperature stress treatment, and the relevant indices were measured. RESULTS: The thickness of palisade tissue (PT), sponge tissue (ST) and the PT/ST of ' Wen185 ' was significantly higher than in ' Longboxiang 2 ' , ' Longboxiang 3 ' and ' Suizhuang ' . However, the leaf thickness (LT) of ' Longboxiang 3 ' was markedly lower than that of other varieties. With the decrease in temperature, relative electrolyte leakage (REL), proline (Pro) and soluble sugar content (SS) of all varieties increased, while superoxide dismutase (SOD) and peroxidase (POD) activities showed a rise and fall trend. According to the LT50, the cold tolerance of seven walnut varieties was ranked from high to low, viz. ' Yuanlin ' > ' Wen185 ' > ' Xiangling ' > ' Suizhuang ' > ' Qingxiang ' > ' Longboxiang 2 ' > ' Longboxiang 3 '. CONCLUSION: The variety ' Yuanlin ' can adapt to low temperature and should be widely promoted.

This study aimed at determining the concentrations of rare earth elements (REEs) in coal and coal fly ash (CFA) from three coal mines in Tanzania: Kiwira, Ngaka and Rukwa. The goal was to assess if these resources could be commercially viable for extracting REEs. Coal and CFA samples were analysed using X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectrometry and laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS). The total concentrations of REEs in the coal samples ranged from 89.48 parts per million (ppm) to 196.30 ppm, while in CFA samples, ranged from 362.55 ppm to 475.77 ppm. Computed percentage of critical REEs (REYdef, rel%) and outlook coefficient (Coutl) values ranged from 27.41% to 50.74% and 0.62 to 2.00, respectively. Based on the evaluation criteria proposed for assessing coal and coal ash as sources of REEs, the results suggest that the studied coal and CFA samples have the potential to be used as sources of REEs for economic development. These findings have important implications for the Tanzanian government and other relevant authorities, as they provide valuable insights into the feasibility of investing in the coal and coal ash as promising sources of REEs. This is particularly significant considering the high global demands for REEs.

The Google Shopping case has brought into discussion the existence of a general duty upon vertically integrated dominant firms not to discriminate competitors in neighbouring markets and to treat them in the same way as own related business. Such general duty is nonsensical from an economic perspective and finds no support in the case law. A case-by-case analysis should therefore be applied. The case law has established that pure discrimination of competitors by a vertically integrated undertaking could amount to a discriminatory abuse of Article 102(c) TFEU instead of an exclusionary abuse of Article 102(b) TFEU. This seems to be the position taken by the Commission in the Google Shopping case. Exclusionary abuse framework, including refusal to deal principles, are not applicable to cases of ‘self-preferencing’. Exclusion of competitors is not the only plausible theory of harm, which does not imply lowering the legal standard to find an anticompetitive infringement. Although there is not a duty of equal treatment as a rule of thumb, there are strong reasons to suspect that the Commission pretends to establish the principle of ‘search neutrality’ in online services.

Abstract Background: Value is defined as health outcomes achieved per dollar spent. While risk-stratified AL HCT survival estimates are made possible by the Stem Cell Therapeutic Outcomes Database (SCTOD), an assessment of healthcare value is not possible as they do not include cost adjustments based upon clinical risk. We report a risk-based cost analysis, modeled on AL pts undergoing HCT at our institution that can potentially serve as a simple, statistically significant risk-based comparison tool. Methods: All AL pts who underwent HCT at City of Hope between 1/1/2010 and 12/31/2014 were included. Detailed data were captured from multiple electronic record sources in our database. Total direct costs were assessed for each pt from 14 days prior to 100 days post HCT. Categorical data were tested for associations by Chi-square; continuous data that were normally distributed were tested by T-test, while non-normal data were tested by Wilcoxon rank sum test. Univariate and multivariable logistic regression models were used to identify predictors associated with HCT costs ≥ median and ≥ 80th percentile. Univariate and multivariable Cox proportional hazards regression were used to identify predictors of overall survival (OS). All p-values were 2-sided with alpha level of 0.05. Results: This analysis included 389 pts (AML 352; ALL 37); median age was 52.5 years (yr) [range 1-74; 107 (27.5%) age ≥ 60]; 48% were female. At the time of HCT 204 (52%) were in 1st complete remission [CR], 87 (22%) in 1st relapse (rel)/2nd CR, and 98 (25%) >2nd CR/Induction Failure [IF]; ECOG performance status was ≥1 in 29.5% and Sorrer comorbidity score ≥1 in 56%. 214 (55%) and 175 (45%) received myeloablative (MAC) or reduced intensity (RIC) conditioning regimen, respectively; 231 (59%) had matched unrelated donor [MUD] or mismatched related donor (MRD) HCT. Graft-versus-host prophylactic (GVHD) regimen consisted of tacrolimus/sirolimus for 80% pts. 207 pts were enrolled on a therapeutic intervention trials and 121 had Medicare and/or Medicaid (Medi-Cal) as payer. Median follow-up was 12.9 months. The estimated 1- yr unadjusted OS for the entire group post-HCT was 71% (95% CI 66%-75%), 80% (74%-85%) for pts in 1st CR, 68% (57%-77%) for pts in 1st rel/2nd CR, and 56% (45%-65%) for pts >2nd CR/ IF. OS was similar for sibling matched and MUD/MRD transplants (1-yr OS 73% vs. 70%). In a multivariable analyses, disease status, MUD/MRD donor, MAC regimen, GVHD prophylaxis other than tacrolimus/sirolimus, ECOG ≥1, and Medicare and/or Medicaid as payer significantly predicted for cost ≥ median (Figure1A). Using Akaike Information Criterion (AIC) scores, donor type and disease status at HCT were found to be more informative variables with regard to higher cost of HCT. Disease status, MUD/MRD, MAC regimen, Medicare and/or Medicaid as payer and ECOG ≥1 also significantly predicted cost ≥ 80th percentile (Figure1B). In a multivariable analysis for OS (Figure 1C) , only >2nd CR/IF and HCT cost exceeding median had significantly higher hazard of death. Of note, despite reaching statistical significance in univariate analysis age, cytogenetics, treatment on protocol, and Sorrer score lost significance in adjusted higher costs and OS multivariable models. Conclusions: Our data suggest that: 1. Higher levels of care complexity drive higher costs, 2. Patients with more advanced disease status and inferior performance status have higher costs, 3. Statistically significant drivers of higher care costs are predictable prior to HCT. These risk factors are easily abstractable from medical records and provide prospective, equitably comparisons of risk-based costs between transplant centers. These data compliment the outcomes data available from the SCTOD and may enable providers and payers to make meaningful value comparisons between transplant centers. They may also help establish alternative models for payer contracting that include consideration of clinical risk-stratification. Of note, given the favorable survival outcomes of pts with higher cost-risk features (i.e., advanced disease status at HCT and MUD/MRD), the higher care costs associated with effective care of higher complexity pts are justified. While validation of this model is necessary using large payer or multi-institutional databases, we propose that similar clinical-economic models can be created for pts with other blood cancers requiring high complexity care. The city of Surabaya became one of the areas that attracted the interest of Europeans to perpetuate power and establish government as well as establish economic relations, especially trade with indigenous peoples. The city of Surabaya has been given the authority to regulate its territory, thus giving rise to the term Gemeente. This article aims to explain how Surabaya’s urban planning has changed across centuries, from 1870-1940. The method used in this article is the study of literature and historical methods. The development of the Surabaya City layout was motivated by the passing of the agrarian and the sugar law. As a result, many people from various ethnic migrated to Surabaya and formed settlements. In addition, another impact is the renewal of Surabaya City infrastructures such as railroads, markets, and highwaysKota Surabaya menjadi salah satu wilayah yang menarik minat orang Eropa untuk melanggengkan kekuasaan dan mendirikan pemerintahan serta menjalin hubungan ekonomi khususnya perdagangan dengan masyarakat pribumi. Kota Surabaya telah diberi kewenangan untuk mengatur wilayahnya sendiri hingga memunculkan istilah Gemeente. Artikel ini bertujuan dalam menjelaskan bagaimana tata Kota Surabaya berubah secara lintas abad, yaitu dari tahun 1870-1940. Metode yang digunakan dalam artikel ini adalah studi kepustakaan serta metode sejarah. Perkembangan tata Kota Surabaya dilatarbelakangi oleh disahkannya undang-undang agraria serta undang-undang gula. Dampaknya banyak penduduk dari berbagai etnis yang bermigrasi ke Kota Surabaya serta membentuk pemukiman-pemukiman. Selain itu dampak lain adalah adanya pembaruan infrastruktur Kota Surabaya seperti rel kereta api, pasar, dan Jalan raya.
