Recently, image processing has been widely used in the medical field. This field helps to increase the accuracy of medical diagnosis, which helps in the early detection of diseases and increases the accuracy of prescribing treatment. Where it is noted that most medical devices such as sonar that are used to take pictures of body parts may give blurred images, which leads to the need for digital image processing techniques to increase the clarity of these images, which gives an accurate description of the examined part of the body. Speed is also one of the most important criteria for measuring the quality of any system, especially in the critical matters, including the medical field, where speed and accuracy of diagnosis are very important for immediate decision-making. To ensure the best speed and the most accurate result, it is better to distribute this process and use more than one processing unit for digital image processing. In this paper, a system was presented that detects the edges of medical images by relying on edge detection processing technology and taking advantage of the field of distributed systems to obtain results at high speed and accuracy. Matlab 2015 environment was used to simulate the system, and the results showed high accuracy in edge detection and high speed to obtain the results.

Many governmental agencies and private companies of different countries are now rushing into space around Earth in the hope to provide smart communication, industrial, security and defense solutions. This often involves massive launches of small cheap satellites which are also contributing to the growth of space debris. The current paper discusses how the developed high-level system philosophy and model can effectively organize distributed space-based systems on different stages of their development and growth. The briefed Spatial Grasp Technology, based on parallel pattern-matching of distributed environments with high-level recursive mobile code, can effectively provide any networking protocols and important applications of large satellite constellations, especially those in low Earth orbits. The article gives some examples of technology-based solutions for establishing basic communications between satellites, starting from their initial, often chaotic, launches and distributing and collecting data in the growing constellations with even unstable and rapidly changing connections between satellites. It describes how to organize and register networking topologies in case of predictable distances between satellites, and how the fixed networking structures can help in solving complex problems. The latter includes those related to the new Space Development Agency’s multiple-satellite defense-oriented architecture and allows for effective integration of its continuous Earth custody observation and cooperative missile tracking and elimination layers, based on self-spreading mobile intelligence. Earlier versions of the technology, described in many papers, six books including, were prototyped and used in different countries, with the current one quickly implementable too, even in university-based environments.

The goal of this article is to develop a generalized mathematical model for controlling the motion of the spacecraft of a space industrial platform’s distributed power system. Space industrialization is one of the promising lines of industrial development in the world. The development of space industrial technologies will allow one to solve a number of problems in the production of unique products unavailable under terrestrial conditions. The main types of these products include semiconductor materials, materials made by 3D printing in microgravity, space modules of sunshade systems, space metallurgy products, space debris processing products, and high-purity space biology substances. Taking this into account, a certain amount of electricity is required for the manufacture of one or another product. Given that some space industrial processes can consume a significant amount of electricity, a space industrial platform's own power generation may not be sufficient. Because of this, it was proposed to use additional energy resources through the development of a distributed power supply system for a space industrial platform. A group of power spacecraft is envisaged to collect and accumulate electric energy and transmit it in a contactless way to the receivers of the space industrial platform. The article presents mathematical models for the analysis of the orbital, angular, and relative motion of power spacecraft and receiver spacecraft. Algorithms are proposed for calculating the parameters of the power spacecraft orientation and stabilization system. A generalized model is constructed for determining the maximum distance and time interval of power spacecraft to platform electric power transmission using microwave radiation. The model developed allows one to choose the power spacecraft design parameters at the stage of conceptual design of space industrial platform power systems.

We study a differential game of approach in a delay stochastic system. The evolution of the system is described by Ito`s linear stochastic differential equation in Hilbert space. The considered Hilbert spaces are assumed to be real and separable. The Wiener process takes values in a Hilbert space and has a nuclear symmetric positive covariance operator. The pursuer and evader controls are non-anticipating random processes, taking on values, generally, in different Hilbert spaces. The operator multiplying the system state is the generator of an analytic semigroup. Solutions of the equation are represented with the help of a formula of variation of constants by the initial data and the control block. The delay effect is taken into account by summing shift type operators. To study the differential game, the method of resolving functions is extended to case of delay stochastic systems in Hilbert spaces. The technique of set-valued mappings and their selectors is used. We consider the application of obtained results in abstract Hilbert spaces to systems described by stochastic partial differential equations with time delay. By taking into account a random external influence and time delay, we study the heat propagation process with controlled distributed heat source and leak.

More complex distributed and intelligent systems which relate to economy, ecology, communi-cations, security and defense, and cover both terrestrial and celestial environments are being developed. Their efficient management, especially in dynamic and unpredictable situations, needs serious investigations and development in scientific and technological areas. Their tradi-tional representations as parts operating by certain algorithms and exchanging messages are be-coming inadequate as such systems need much stronger integration to operate as holistic organ-isms pursuing global and often varying goals. This paper is focused on a completely different paradigm for organization and management of large dynamic and distributed systems. This par-adigm extends and transforms the notion of an algorithm for the description of knowledge pro-cessing logic. Moreover, it allows it to exist, propagate and operate as an integral whole in any distributed spaces which may constantly change their volumes and structures. Taking into con-sideration some organizational features related to dangerous viruses, as well as recent pandem-ics, this ubiquitous Spatial Grasp (SG) model is presented in the paper at philosophical and im-plementation levels, together with the introduction of special spatial charts for its exhibition and studies, which extend traditional algorithmic flowcharts towards working directly in dis-tributed spaces. Utilization of this model for the creation of resultant Spatial Grasp Technology and its basic Spatial Grasp Language, already described in details in numerous publications, is briefed as well. Elementary examples of dealing with distributed networks, collective human-robotic behavior, removal of space debris by a constellation of cleaning satellites and simulat-ing the spread of virus and vaccination against it explain SG advantages over traditional system organizations.

The efficiency of metadata indexing is important to the performance of distributed file system. Time and space spending of current metadata management algorithms are unstable. In this paper, we use B-tree to index the metadata of distributed file system. Lustre is an open source distributed file system in which Hash function is used to manage the metadata. We implement the prototype of metadata indexing sub-system on Lustre and use Iozone to test the I/O performance of Lustre with and without the metadata indexing sub-system respectively. The simulation results show that Lustre with the metadata indexing sub-system has higher adaptability than Lustre with Hash-based metadata management algorithm.

This paper presents a new analytical and numerical method for modeling and synthesis of complex distributed parameter systems that are multiple continua combined with lumped parameter systems. In the analysis, the complex distributed parameter system is first divided into a number of subsystems; the distributed transfer functions of each subsystem are determined in exact and closed form by a state space technique. The complex distributed parameter system is then assembled by imposing displacement compatibility and force balance at the nodes where the subsystems are interconnected. With the distributed transfer functions and the transfer functions of the constraints and lumped parameter systems, exact, closed-form formulation is obtained for various dynamics and vibration problems. The method does not require a knowledge of system eigensolutions, and is valid for non-self-adjoint systems with inhomogeneous boundary conditions. In addition, the proposed method is convenient in computer coding and suitable for computerized symbolic manipulation.

The traditional algorithms create the local candidate sets firstly, and then determine whether the local frequent item sets is the global frequent item sets by the traffic between the nodes. The most different between the proposed algorithm and the traditional algorithms is that it firstly generates all the local frequent item sets at each node and then communicates to the top point. At the top point, there are four cases to deal with all the local frequent item sets. For the fastest case, the determination could be made by the completion of round-trip communications. At the same time, all the operations of this algorithm are completed not by traditional data storage but by a new data storage in which the item is considered as the keyword. The method can save storage space, especially for sparse data. So the support can be calculated by the intersection of the transaction sets, which is much easier than by accessing to the database. Finally, the association rules in the distributed database are mined

Various techniques have been used in distributed file systems for data availability and stability. Typically, a method for storing data in a replication technique-based distributed file system is used, but due to the problem of space efficiency, an erasure-coding (EC) technique has been utilized more recently. The EC technique improves the space efficiency problem more than the replication technique does. However, the EC technique has various performance degradation factors, such as encoding and decoding and input and output (I/O) degradation. Thus, this study proposes a buffering and combining technique in which various I/O requests that occurred during encoding in an EC-based distributed file system are combined into one and processed. In addition, it proposes four recovery measures (disk input/output load distribution, random block layout, multi-thread-based parallel recovery, and matrix recycle technique) to distribute the disk input/output loads generated during decoding.

This paper presents an innovative approach towards space–ground integrated communication systems by combining terrestrial cellular networks, UAV networks, and satellite networks, leveraging advanced slicing technology. The proposed architecture addresses the challenges posed by future user surges and aims to reduce network overhead effectively. Central to our approach is the introduction of a marginal mobile station (MS)-assisted network resource allocation decision architecture. Building upon this foundation, we introduce the DP-DQN model, an enhanced decision-making algorithm tailored for MSs in dynamic network environments. Furthermore, this study introduces a feedback mechanism to ensure the accuracy and adaptability of the marginalization model over time. Through extensive simulations and experimental validations, our DP-DQN-based edge decision method demonstrates substantial potential in alleviating core network overhead while improving success access ratios compared to conventional methods.

<span>With the increase of the number of vehicles on the road, several traffic congestion problems arise in the big city, and this has a negative impact on the economy, environment and citizens. The time spent looking for a parking space and the traffic generated contributes to mobility and traffic management problems. Hence the need for smart parking management to help drivers to find vacant spaces in a car park in a shorter time. Today, researchers are considering scenarios in which a large amount of services can be offered and used by drivers and authorities to improve the management of the city's car parks and standards of quality of life. Based on literature on smart parking management system (SPMS), we have established the most important services needed such as reservation, orientation, synchronization, and security. The dynamic distributed and open aspect of the problem led us to adopt a multi-agent modeling to ensure continuous evolution and flexibility of the management system. In this conceptual paper, we propose to structure those services on a multi-agent system (MAS) that covers the whole functions of a distributed SPMS. Each service is provided as an autonomous agent, able to communicate and collaborate with the others to propose optimized parking space to customers.</span>

Decades of research on distributed file systems and storage systems exists. New researchers and engineers have a lot of literature to study, but only a comparatively small number of high-level design choices are available when creating a distributed file system. And within each aspect of the system, typically several common approaches are used. So, rather than surveying distributed file systems, this article presents a survey of important design decisions and, within those decisions, the most commonly used options. It also presents a qualitative exploration of their tradeoffs. We include several relatively recent designs and their variations that illustrate other tradeoff choices in the design space, despite being underexplored. In doing so, we provide a primer on distributed file systems, and we also show areas that are overexplored and underexplored, in the hopes of inspiring new research.

In this paper, KnowWeb, a European Commission funded research project, is briefly introduced. The project focuses on the storage of knowledge in corporate organizational memory and retrieval of relevant knowledge chunks from memory. Retrieval is based on company-specific conceptual terms instead of traditional keywords. The employed knowledge-based approach enables searching not only in physical document space but also in document context space. Flexible architecture that can be adopted by different SMEs with specific distributed environments in a simple and straightforward way is a necessary condition for success of such a system. Therefore, in addition to the knowledge modeling approach, the distributed architecture of our proposed system is described.

There are two main problems to store the system data on single machine: limited storage space and low reliability. The concept of distribution solves the two problems fundamentally. Many independent machines are integrated as a whole. As a result, these separated resources are integrated together. This paper focuses on developing a system, based on SSH, XFire and Hadoop, to help users store and manage the distributed files. All the files stored in HDFS should be encrypted to protect users privacy. In order to save resources, system is designed to avoid uploading the duplicate files by checking the files MD5 string.

Machine vision has been thoroughly studied in the past, but research thus far has lacked an engineering perspective on human vision. This paper addresses the observed and hypothetical neural behavior of the brain in relation to the visual system. In a human vision system, visual data are collected by photoreceptors in the eye, and these data are then transmitted to the rear of the brain for processing. There are millions of retinal photoreceptors of various types, and their signals must be unscrambled by the brain after they are carried through the optic nerves. This work is a forward step toward explaining how the photoreceptor locations and proximities are resolved by the brain. It is illustrated here that unlike in digital image sensors, there is no one-to-one sensor-to-processor identifier in the human vision system. Instead, the brain must go through an iterative learning process to identify the spatial locations of the photosensors in the retina. This involves a process called synaptic pruning, which can be simulated by a memristor-like component in a learning circuit model. The simulations and proposed mathematical models in this study provide a technique that can be extrapolated to create spatial distributions of networked sensors without a central observer or location knowledge base. Through the mapping technique, the retinal space with known configuration generates signals as scrambled data-feed to the logical space in the brain. This scrambled response is then reverse-engineered to map the logical space’s connectivity with the retinal space locations.

The goal of the Space Challenge project is to identify the challenges faced by teams in space operations and then represent those challenges in a distributed human-machine teaming scenario that resembles typical space operations and to measure the coordination dynamics across the entire system. Currently, several challenges have been identified through semi-structured interviews with nine subject matter experts (SMEs) who were astronauts or those who have experienced or have been involved with interplanetary space exploration. We conducted a thematic analysis on the interviews through an iterative process. Challenges were categorized into four categories, including, communication, training, distributed teaming, and complexity. Based on the findings, challenges and key teamwork characteristics of space operations were integrated into the initial scenario development. In addition to the scenario, we plan to use dynamical system methods to analyze team activity in real time.

This article describes a representation-based framework of distributed cognition. This framework considers distributed cognition as a cognitive system whose structures and processes are distributed between internal and external representations, across a group of individuals, and across space and time. The major issue for distributed research, under this framework, are the distribution, transformation, and propagation of information across the components of the distributed cognitive system and how they affect the performance of the system as a whole. To demonstrate the value of this representation-based approach, the framework was used to describe and explain an important, challenging, and controversial issue — the concept of affordance.

Workflow technologies are becoming pervasive in the area of space. They enable the execution of space business processes in distributed and ubiquitous computing environments. However, there are some problems such as cross-platform workflow which need to be solved urgently in space test and launch. Aiming at enhancing the efficiency of space test and launch, the distributed workflow engine model of the space test and launch based on JMX was designed. And the workflow engine routing control algorithm was proposed. At last, the performance of the workflow engine system was analyzed. The model was applied in a launch base successfully. The actual operation tests show that: the proposed design model was rational and effective. It enabled changing the engine process dynamically and enhancing the flexibility of the engine system. Furthermore, it enabled setting workflow engines according to the task and application of the test and launch departments. The performance and efficiency of the space test and launch system was improved greatly.

Collaboration of multi-satellite system has a good application effect in the global remote sensing and three-dimensional observations field. Develop collaborative multi-satellite formation flight simulation system based on HLA is of great significance for the study of complex formation change process in the multi-satellite formation flying. We first design the collaborative multi-satellite formation flight simulation system based on HLA, then study the application of Agent-based modeling technology in the collaborative of multi-satellite formation flight simulation. The key technologies involved the establishment of the satellite relative kinetic model and formation remains adaptive control problem. Therefore, we have designed a state-space model identification-based adaptive decoupling generalized minimum variance controller to solve the problem of precise control of the system. Digital simulation results show that the adaptive control method based on state space model identification can track the desired trajectory in the presence of unknown environmental disturbances and measurement noise and the simulation system can effectively verify Multi-satellite collaborative control method at the same time.

ABSTRACTThe persistent coverage control problem is formulated based on cell discretisation of two-dimensional mission space and time-increasing cell ages. A new performance function is defined to represent the coverage level of the mission space, and time behaviour is evaluated by the probabilistic method based on the detection model of agents. For comparison, persistent coverage controllers are designed by a target-based approach and a reactive approach. Both controllers are designed in a distributed manner using Voronoi tessellation and Delaunay graph-based local information sharing. Numerical simulation is performed to analyse the evaluated mean age of cells and evaluated coverage level over time for the designed persistent coverage controllers. The differences between the evaluation model and simulation situation are discussed.
