Gavoille, Élisabeth. "Ars, étude sémantique et historique du mot latin jusqu'à l'époque cicéronienne". Paris 4, 1994. http://www.theses.fr/1994PA040349.
Texto completo da fonteThis thesis is a semantic study of the word ars. It begins at the commencement of Latin literature and includes the ciceronian era, the perspective being both lexicographic and historical. After the etymological research, which highlights the fundamental elements of order and of ability for organization, the various meanings of ars are classified applying the methods of componential analysis. The evolution of this semantic structure is seen on two levels: the archaic period and the first century (dominated globally by cicero). During this second era new meanings of ars began to appear ("a special science", "a technique or method", "a theory, system" and "a treatise"), essentially borrowed from the Greek word techne, from which ars is the Latin counterpart, notably apparent in rhetorical and philosophical works. These new definitions do not replace the older ones ("skill" and "behavior, practices", "professional skill, craftsmanship" and "a profession, craft"): the plural artes bonae, which can be synonymous with artes liberales (the basis of a free man culture) was used concurrently to designates the traditional roman virtues as opposed to the Greek uirtules. Out of this study one surmises that ars like techne is not limited to practical knowledge but provides for a larger explanation of human knowledge
Conso, Danièle. "Forma : étude sémantique". Paris 4, 1990. http://www.theses.fr/1990PA040160.
Texto completo da fonteThe thesis is a study of the polysemy of two Latin lexemes, forma and formula, whose morphological relationship is one of derivation. A comparison of occurrences in Latin texts (from the earliest period to the end of the sixth century) brings out the fact that the two lexemes had a wide variety of usages. These usages can be classified as meanings and as semantic variants, using various criteria, especially that of their autonomy from or their dependence on the context. A comparison of these meanings, defined by their Semmes, shows that the polysemy of forma is articulated synchronically around two poles: "form" (taken as a concrete quality) and "pattern". Each meaning is indeed linked, directly or indirectly, to one of the two poles; the relationship may be one of close polysemy, distant polysemy, restricted meaning, metonymy or metaphor. Two rare meanings are exceptions to this rule: their relationship to the others is one of homonymy. The polysemy of formula follows only partially that of forma: it is articulated around the "pattern" pole, with the specific meanings of formula being distinct from the corresponding meanings of forma by their more specialized character. From a diachronic point of view, it is possible to work backwards to a reconstructed meaning of "stability", solidification", and this means that, from amongst the various possible etymologies, one must choose the one based on the i. Texto completo da fonteThe subject is the analysis of the semantics of the words gloria and laus. Both contain a rich polysemy and keep in touch concerning the synonymy. The way of doing is the componential analysis but we also take in account the "referents" of the words. It seems that gloria finds its unity in the meaning of brightness; therefore we can draw an etymological parallel with the root *gel- "to shine". It is more difficult to reconstitute the coherence and the story of laus. The main difference bears upon the meaning of "glory": the notoriety intrudes on the others attention {gloria) or it is given by the collective sense [laus)

This paper examines how a development of a mediated identity come about. Which factors get’s a mediated identity to change it’s public picture or image? To answer this question I studie an artist career with a very substantial development. The career I have choosen to follow is the one of Douglas ”Dogge” Leóns from the band Latin Kings. The method to make this paper work is text analysis of his apperance in swedish media during his career.

Texto completo da fonteThis dissertation attempts to determine what place can be attributed within the Lacanian field to the process of figuration in the dream, such as it was revealed by Freud. The Freudian definition of the dream as a rebus, as a rhetorical structure and as a painting induces a reflection on the image and the word considered as signifiers. In the dream as well as in the painting, the reciprocal movement between the image and the word is assured by trans-systematic processes that are no other than condensation, displacement and the consideration of figurability. This to and fro between the image and the word finds its limit with the un-utterable and the un-figurable. The logical figure of negation, possible in the linguistic field, is an unrepresentable point in the unconscious, as well as in the painting. It emerges as one of the names of the Real

Texto completo da fonteThis research based on the study of literary sources, epigraphic texts, numismatic and archaeological searches to provide a better understanding of the imperial regime. The study begins with a brief history of the two concepts in the Republic and a study particularly in the works of Cicero. Then we analyze the establishment of the principate. The institutional change proposed by Augustus was possible only if it was accepted by all citizens. This change of regime was justified only if there were not the civil ward and if the concordia ciuilis existed. The principate could not maintain only if these two aspects can be keeping. We therefore examined this balance through the imperial investiture, the ceremony of the aduentus and time of death until the death of Alexander Severus. This analysis over a long period allows us to analyze the imperial power. The principes try always to follow the Augustan policy while introducing innovations that respond to claims of the populus Romanus of their time

Texto completo da fonteThis thesis intends to study the theoretical means by which the Latin rhetoric of the first century BCE has understood the ethical aspect of rhetorical performances and has progressively built a category suited to the peculiarities of the late Roman republic : the notion of persona, which, in its rhetorical meaning, corresponds to the merits mentioned by the orator in his own speech and to the ethos he conveys through his argumentation, style, voice and gestures. This work seeks to demonstrate that the notion of persona is no strict equivalent of the Greek notion of h\qo". It emphasizes therefore how historical and ideological contexts must be taken into account when rhetorical theory tries to deal with oratorical ethos. The first part of this study uses the Athenian theory of h\qo" and its political value as a reference in order to give the notion of persona its particular rhetorical meaning. It then becomes possible to study how this notion slowly emerges, detaches itself from Greek rhetorical tradition and takes into account the symbolical, ideological and practical realities of the Roman aristocratic environment in the anonymous Rhetorica ad Herennium and Cicero’s De inuentione. The last part of this study analyzes how Cicero gives a true theoretical status to the notion of persona in his mature works and uses it for philosophical and rhetorical purposes that are wider than they were in the first Latin rhetorical texts

Texto completo da fonteThis research in education sciences is focused on the conception and design of scientific and technique engineering programme training. The main objective is to understand in which way the pedagogical practices can be connected with the school management. The relation between the top management and teaching activities is complex. We envisage watching these interactions and modeling it. The objective of this research is thus oriented to the study of the interactions between school management (meso level) and the actions developed at a micro level (meaning pedagogic dynamics). The research strategy is made of several methodologies such as participative observation, active Iistening during interviews and an action - research approach
Faure-Ribreau, Marion. "Pour la beauté du jeu : la construction du personnage dans la comédie romaine (Plaute, Térence)". Paris 7, 2010. http://www.theses.fr/2010PA070086.
Texto completo da fonteEach character from the comoedia palliata (a type of Roman comedy defined as an adaptation of the Greek New Comedy) corresponds to a persona, i. E. A stock-figure which could be compared to the stock-types of French classical theatre. In the first part of this thesis, I study the concept-word persona and the way Romans defined identity and the making of dramatic characters ; then a description of the comic personae of comoedia palliata is presented. Could a distinctive character be made from a persona ? I try to answer this question in the second part from different perspectives : after wondering whether each character owns a distinctive nature which could confer them individuality, I study some theatrical playing on identity (disguise, double, anagnorisis), then I focus on the way a character fits into the plot, and on the way two characters performing the same persona can actually be different from each other. These four chapters tend to prove that a character has only one identity, which is its persona, and that it is neither a fictitious individual nor the imitation of an individual. But in these chapters I also introduce an idea that provides the key to fully understand the making of character in comoedia palliata : the idea of playing. The third part offers a study of this idea of playing (ludus), or ludism, which is linked to the context of comic performance (the ludi scaenici) and to the actor's figure, playing a persona. Each character is a playing figure which plays on the stock persona it puts on stage
