The last decade of the twentieth century is filled with numerous events which will mark the economic and social relations in our country for a long time. In terms with the whole changes that rose after the constitution of The Republic of Notrh Macedonia as an independent country, special emphasis is put on the model of the economic systemand the introduction of a new in accordance with the principles of the free market and the market economy. This change dictates adequate changes in the economic relations in the field of educational and the science-reseach system. In the field of education and upbringing management should be implemented as a contemporary process which includes the following activities: planning, organizing, coordinating, motivating and controling, without which modern educational process cannot be concieved. Therefore, the new techno-economic paradygma represents a nucleous of mutually connected technologically, organizational and managirial inovations whose advantage is in the new range of products and production systems and services without which a modern economic structure of the society cannot be imagined.Management in this respect shoulb be recognised and characterised with: managers’ knowledge, their skills and ability to run and to deal in conditions of market economy. The development of management as a separate field can be divided in various periods: Pre-scientific management, scientific management, human resources, refining , spreading and synthesis. Each of these periods is characterized with specific principles, functions, authors, researches and management schools.Management as a process, applicable in each environment (economic, non economic, governmental etc)including the basic functions or primary activities executed by the managers, enables each activity to be planned, to be orgnaised its implementation, to coordinate the implementation, to motivate, and run and to take corrective measurements should there be opposing in the implementation of the activities.

The current business environment is experiencing rapid change influenced by technology, globalization, and changes in consumer behavior. A deep understanding of this environment is important for a company's adaptation. An important development driving changes in the contemporary business environment at large is the growth of markets and international trade. Today's contemporary business is characterized by increasingly fierce competition, rapid innovation, and constant change. To face this increasingly complex business environment, many contemporary techniques are used by companies, such as information technology, risk management, and supply chain management. These techniques help companies to stay competitive and adapt to the rapidly changing business environment. This research is expected to provide a better understanding of the contemporary business environment and contemporary techniques used in business today.

Contemporary Natural Philosophy is understood here as a project of the pursuit of the integrated description of reality distinguished by the precisely formulated criteria of objectivity, and by the assumption that the statements of this description can be assessed only as true or false according to clearly specified verification procedures established with the exclusive goal of the discrimination between these two logical values, but not with respect to any other norms or values established by the preferences of human collectives or by the individual choices. This distinction assumes only logical consistency, but not completeness. Completeness (i.e., the feasibility to assign true or false value to all possible statements) is desirable, but may be impossible. This paper is not intended as a comprehensive program for the development of the Contemporary Natural Philosophy but rather as a preparation for such program advocating some necessary revisions and extensions of the methodology currently considered as the scientific method. This is the actual focus of the paper and the reason for the reference to Baconian idola mentis. Francis Bacon wrote in Novum Organum about the fallacies obstructing progress of science. The present paper is an attempt to remove obstacles for the Contemporary Natural Philosophy project to which we have assigned the names of the Idols of the Number, the Idols of the Common Sense, and the Idols of the Elephant.

Creative Nation confirmed the shift by federal governments to viewing popular music as part of the Australian cultural economy, where the ‘contemporary music’ industries were expected to contribute to economic growth as much as providing a set of creative practices for musicians and audiences. In the 19 years between Creative Nation and Creative Australia, much has changed. This article examines relationships between the music industries, governments and audiences in three areas. First, it charts the funding of popular music within the broader cultural sector to illuminate the competing discourses and demands of the popular and classical music sectors in federal budgets. Second, it traces configurations of popular music and national identity as part of national policy. Third, the article explores how both national policy documents position Australian popular music amid global technological and regulatory shifts. As instruments of cultural nationalism, Creative Nation and Creative Australia are useful texts in assessing the opportunities and limits of nations in asserting coherent national strategies.

This essay traces the century-long history of contemporary literature as a field of study in English departments. Showing how prior debates about the scholarly status of contemporary literature coincided with both changing disciplinary methodologies and the changing political landscape of the university, the essay argues that prevailing anxieties about the study of the contemporary today are central to explaining the emergence of a new kind of contemporary novel.

There is renewed interest in megaprojects worldwide. In contrast to high-modernist megaprojects that were discrete projects undertaken by centralized authorities, contemporary megaprojects are often decentralized and pursued by a range of stakeholders from governments as well as the private sector. They leverage cutting-edge technology to ‘see’ complex systems as legible and singular phenomena. As a result, they are more ambitious, more pervasive and they have the potential to reconfigure longstanding relationships that have animated social and ecological systems. The articles in this issue explore the novel features of contemporary megaprojects, they show how the proponents of contemporary megaprojects aspire to technologically enabled omnipresence, and they document the resistance that megaprojects have provoked.

At a time when careless opportunism blurs the line separating the hatespeech, race-baiting, and xenophobia that we condemn and the misleadingexpedience of “tolerating” others, the need to change how Muslims engagethe hatred facing them has become most apparent. Threatened by Frenchpoliticians with state-enforced settlement camps and neoconservative socialengineering schemes that erect 10-meter highwalls in theWestBank, BelAir,and Baghdad, it is critical that Muslims demonstrate the ability to resist theirwholesale criminalization with dignity and passion. Unfortunately, the overwhelmingmajority of those who publicly “stand-up” for “reason” are non-Muslim, western-based academics speaking for “Islam” as a non-westernphenomenon that nevertheless “needs to be tolerated.”When “Muslims” are given the rare chance of having a forum throughwhich to communicate, the message has more often confirmed the reductionistassumptions of xenophobic racists advocating their legal exclusionfrom “Christian” Europe. How often has it been noted that those Muslimsmost frequently given access to the mainstream media are the fanatical andpatently violent characters depicted in media stereotypes who actually haveno right to “speak” for Islam in the first place?Contemporary Islam: Dynamic, Not Static challenges these prevailingcurrents in scholarship by actually engaging the audience in a fashion thatdoes not concede Islam’s centrality to a larger human experience ...

Islamism proposes a vision of a society united by religion above all else – a vision that the West has difficulty theorizing and even comprehending. This vision and the social movements that have accompanied it are firmly rooted in the Muslim world’s history and traditions. This paper adopts a frame analytic perspective to examine and understand the progression of political Islam from the nationalism of the interwar period and beyond to the radical jihadism of today. In so doing, it contributes to the literature on framing by providing an analytically rich and theoretically valuable example of framing tactics in social movements. It also contributes to the growing literature on political Islam (Islamism) by providing a new and insightful perspective on its emergence and acceptance in the Muslim world.

The new trends in the field of regional economic integration, as well as the changing trade and the political configuration of the global economy cannot but affect integration processes within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Russia seems to be somewhat late with the project of a “hard” regional integration involving supranational control formats. The globalization dictates economic feasibility of an open trade and this is increasingly becoming a significant centrifugal factor. Our main task now is to complete as soon as possible the institutional phase of the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space between Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. Only after accomplishment of this integration project we can start to position it as a full-fledged subject of the world trade policy. Simultaneously, we must emphasize our interest in expanding and deepening the cooperation with the third countries and their groupings, including the RTS format. The same consideration prompts us to be extremely careful and reserved concerning the prospects of enlarging the Customs Union. The only possible Commonwealth-wide integration project format can be “soft” integration. This supposes the establishment of a multilateral free trade area (MFTA) with the elements contained within the modern economic integration agreements.

The paper begins with an examination of three ideal types citizenship which are not necessarily mutual exclusive. The first type is national citizenship, typically associated with ethno-nationalism. The second form is social citizenship or ‘welfare citizenship’ refers to the creation of social rights and is closely connected to civil-society institutions rather than to the state or market. The third form of citizenship identifies the citizen with participation in the work force emphasizing self-reliance and autonomy. In this discussion, I argue that with economic globalization and the development of neo-liberal strategies the various forms of citizenship have converged towards a new model of passive citizenship in which the state is or has withdrawn from commitment to full employment and the provision of social security, especially universal provision of welfare services, and civil-society institutions have been eroded. The result is the emergence of the apolitical, isolated citizen as consumer. The fourth model of citizenship presupposes a consumer society, a weak state and the decline of civic institutions, where the passive citizen becomes a consumer of privatized goods and services. The rise of a fourth model of citizenship – the consumer-citizen – can be interpreted as a logical consequence of financialization.1 1 Some aspects of this chapter first appeared in Bryan S. Turner (2010), ‘Ralf Dahrendorf on Citizenship and Life Chances’, Citizenship Studies, 14 (2): 237–43.

The article shares the findings based on participant observation conducted during the 11th World Zoroastrian Congress as well as on the analysis of other resources linked to contemporary Zoroastrians. Paying attention to the internal differentiation of the Zoroastrian world community, it focuses on the components that stand in the way to its integration, as disagreements that refer to customs, religion, or the matter of who the “real” Zoroastrians are. It also discusses the boundaries between those who believe to be Zoroastrians form generations and the outside world, as well as the ways these boundaries eventually can be crossed through conversion or intermarriages.
