Texto completo da fonteThe research of alternative aircraft propulsion system is mandatory because oil dependence is too strong. The work proposed in this thesis is oriented to support electric based innovative propulsion system designers. Considering that it is important to consider entire aircraft analysis, we propose a model based, with systems engineering models, physics-based behavioral models and numerical simulation, and collaborative, because design require numerous business expertise. The objective of this approach is to build a virtual product, which means a global multidisciplinary executable model of the product under design in order to facilitate its design. A methodology is then developed, focused on the relation between the virtual product, its constitutive models and their acquisition. The methodology director wire corresponds to information research, with multidisciplinary interactions and impacts in the system, and then the application of those pieces of information to build a model of intention which allows requesting a behavioral model from experts. Finally, it is the missing link between global design driven with systems engineering and real physics based design which is implicitly at stake. To perform the methodology, a new role has been defined, the simulation architect. This thesis presents theoretically the methodology, including roles and concepts, and then this methodology is demonstrated on a helicopter based drone study-case

Texto completo da fonteThe aviation industry has for many years pursued the objective of an optimum level of safetyin the air transport sector. With regard to military aviation, more precisely tactical, thispriority is coupled with an increasingly high and polymorphic search for performance. Whatcharacterize this type of aviation is the relationship between the performance pursued and theaccepted risks. It depends essentially on the context and the stakes of the missions to becarried out.The human factor approach is a major leverage for achieving this challenge. Thus, within theconstrained domain of aeronautics, the design and development of tools to assist crewcognition remains a prospect for the future, even if pilot training also becomes a majorchallenge for the coming years. In this context, the management of cognitive resources, and inparticular the specific management strategies put in place by the pilots, are central to thedecision-making process under constraints. In a research and engineering approach in cognition, we undertook a study involving pilotsand allowing the understanding of these mechanisms as well as the production ofrecommendations for the design of tools to help manage their cognitive resources. On thebasis of the analysis of feedback, and results of a preliminary experimental approach, we havebuilt a protocol to highlight the strategies implemented by the pilots in the context of anactivity during the descent and the final approach on the Clermont-Ferrand airport with acritical breakdown. The experimental results reconciled with our understanding hypotheseson the management of cognitive resources and management strategies, complete our analysisand recommendations for a tool to help manage the resources of the pilots

Texto completo da fontePopularity of Vertical Take-Off and Landing vehicles (VTOL) increased with new mission requirements such as package delivery or urban air mobility. The applications are not limited to those, several scientific research projects can benefit from the resultant vehicles. Such an example can be given for Atmospheric Researchers, who need advanced autonomous capabilities from take-off to landing, fly at relatively high flight speeds (up to 25m/s) and for long flight duration (2-3 hours). Their operation environment does not always allow additional crew member such as an experienced safety pilot. These requirements favor the potential offered by unconventional vehicle configurations that combine the VTOL capability of rotary-wings with the fast and efficient forward flight capacity of fixed-wings. These 'transitioning' or 'hybrid' vehicles come in many different forms, such as tail-sitters, quad-planes, tilt-wing and more. In this thesis, we will try to consider most of them briefly, but focus particularly on the Tilt-Wing configuration as it offer s several operational advantages for atmospheric researchers, such as horizontal fuselage orientation for payload, clear separation and distance of the payload from wing and propeller influence, can be designed for easy to take-off and land-on on belly without the need of landing gear, and rapid gust rejection by tilting the wing only (smaller inertia) compared to full vehicle. The main objective of this thesis is the development of an agile design methodology to optimize a tilt-wing vehicle according to a mission while taking into account not only the classical disciplines that are involved such as aerodynamics, structures, propulsion system, avionics, but also the manufacturing techniques, flight control and robustness to atmospheric conditions as these vehicle configurations are susceptible to wind gusts. This methodology will benefit from experimental data incorporated in the model generation and fine-tuning, and from advanced adaptive optimization strategies
