Although previous research has investigated the associations among family factors, school factors, peer factors, and problematic Internet use, its causal direction has not been verified, particularly in the Chinese context. Using school-based data, this study aims to explore the possible causal direction among school climate, parent–child closeness, peer relations, and the problematic Internet use of Chinese adolescents. Nine hundred and sixty students in junior and senior high schools participated in a questionnaire survey. The results showed that parent–child closeness, school climate, and peer relations had a significantly direct effect on the problematic Internet use of Chinese adolescents. Meanwhile, the effects of parent–child closeness, school climate, and peer relations on problematic Internet use were mediated by self-esteem and depression. Implications are also discussed to prevent the problematic Internet use of adolescents.

Based on the idea of computers constituting social agents and referring to core characteristics of human–human relationships, this study introduces the concept of a digital companionship between smartphone users and their devices. Constituting characteristics (closeness, trust, preoccupation) and outcomes (stress, coping with stress) of social relationships were adapted to yield a model of human–smartphone relationships for empirical testing. A cross-national sample of participants ( n = 1156) completed an online study, which included self-report measures as well as a newly developed instrument (Positioning Others and Devices [POD]) assessing the closeness to technical devices and social actors. Results showed the smartphone to be the closest device. Furthermore, structural equation modeling lent support for the theoretical model indicating that trust and preoccupation mediate the relationship between closeness to the smartphone and stress and coping. Findings support the concept of companionship as a fruitful approach to explain smartphone-related behaviors.

The classical communication complexity of testing closeness of discrete distributions has recently been studied by Andoni, Malkin and Nosatzki (ICALP'19). In this problem, two players each receive $t$ samples from one distribution over $[n]$, and the goal is to decide whether their two distributions are equal, or are $\epsilon$-far apart in the $l_1$-distance. In the present paper we show that the quantum communication complexity of this problem is $\tilde{O}(n/(t\epsilon^2))$ qubits when the distributions have low $l_2$-norm, which gives a quadratic improvement over the classical communication complexity obtained by Andoni, Malkin and Nosatzki. We also obtain a matching lower bound by using the pattern matrix method. Let us stress that the samples received by each of the parties are classical, and it is only communication between them that is quantum. Our results thus give one setting where quantum protocols overcome classical protocols for a testing problem with purely classical samples.

This paper addresses two related issues in the literature of non-nested hypotheses testing. Firstly, by means of a measure of “closeness” of probability density functions, it shows how any two hypotheses can be placed into the nested and the non-nested categories with the latter category being subdivided further into “globally” and “partially” non-nested hypotheses. Secondly, by emphasizing the distinction between a “local null” and a “local alternative,” the paper shows that only in the case of partially non-nested hypotheses is it possible to specify local alternatives. In this case the paper derives the asymptotic distribution of the Cox test statistic under local alternatives and shows that it is distributed as a normal variate with a mean which is directly related to the measure of “closeness” of the alternative to the null hypothesis.

The sufficient closeness of the medians of the ordered samples of random data to the normal distribution is used in computer systems for control, monitoring and diagnosing electric power equipment. However, it remains what other probability density function (pdf) of elements (sample statistics) have such similarities. This paper presents various methods for statistical testing hypotheses for pdf-converter channels as statistics of given sizes odd numbered and ordered samples of bounded and uniformly distributed random numbers. The use of various different criteria and the results of estimates studied under the same conditions showed a sufficient conformity of the results of tests for three statistical criteria. It made possible to draw a reasonable conclusion about the preferable use of the adapted chi-square test for assessing the congruence of analytical pdf channels of the converter with normal distribution. We also suggested using the "statistical closeness window" to define those channels of the converter that do not significantly differ from the normal distribution. In addition, we presented an empirical formula determining the dependence of the size of the window of the statistical closeness window on the sample size. The results of the research are summarized in a statistical model of a multichannel uncorrelated data converter. References 27, figures 7.

The purpose of this study was to identify characteristics of family relationships associated with communication of genetic risk and testing behaviors among at-risk relatives in families with an inherited cardiac condition. Data were collected from 53 patients and parents of children with an inherited cardiac condition through interviews, pedigrees, and surveys. Associations were examined among family relationship characteristics and whether at-risk relatives were informed about their risk and tested for disease. Of 1,178 at-risk relatives, 52.5% were informed about their risk and 52.1% of those informed were tested. Emotional closeness, relationship quality, and communication frequency had significant bivariate associations with genetic risk communication. Communication frequency was associated with genetic risk communication and testing in multivariate models. This study provides new insight into the extent of genetic risk communication and testing in families with inherited cardiac conditions. Family relationships, especially communication frequency, are critical factors in family communication of genetic risk.

PT. The chemical industry is a company that has been producing hydrogen peroxide since 1992. One of the essential roles of this chemical factory is the Quality Control Laboratory, which functions to analyze raw materials and hydrogen peroxide products before distributing them to consumers to ensure product quality. Based on the standard of laboratory quality management system, SNI ISO/IEC 17025:2008 states that in order to facilitate the correctness of test performance, the laboratory must monitor, control and record the temperature and humidity in the testing room because it will have an impact on the validity of the quality of the data produced—however, Procurement of test equipment facilities in the QC laboratory of PT. The chemical industry is not supported by good facility layout planning, so it is necessary to rearrange the layout, including the function of equipment and materials and the conditioning of utility and electricity systems. The laboratory layout redesign parameters used are floor area measurement, ARC (Activity Relationship Chart) analysis, and ARD (Activity Relationship Diagram) analysis. The study results are in the form of calculating the total closeness rating value on the activity proximity relationship diagram, the largest value is the sample space of 6200, and the lowest value is the computer room of 200. From these calculations, a layout template for testing laboratory facilities is created based on the order of the highest total closeness rating value to the smallest value so that a laboratory layout will be obtained according to the SNI ISO/IEC 17025:2008 standard and can create an effective and efficient work environment.

Using key chapters from Milton Hatoum’s Dois Irmãos (2000), we set about testing John Milton’s hypothesis (2011) that grammatically more similar languages would yield fewer adaptations in translation. Our sample, on the contrary, revealed that the sociolinguistically closer Italian translation varied more than the more distant English version, and in equidistant sociolinguistic cases involving slang and indigenous loanwords, the Italian version offered more audience-appropriate (i.e. acceptable) variations. It could be that the closeness of the languages (Portuguese-Italian), combined with the translator’s sociolinguistic understanding may, instead, have provided a platform for both more “acceptable” (freer) and more “adequate” (“equivalent”) structures.

Virtual mechanical tests play an increasing role in the stage of ground experimental testing to prove the resistance of rocket and space technology products to mechanical impacts. An important indicator of virtual simulation quality, on the basis of which design decisions are made, is the accuracy of the results obtained, which can be estimated by verification with the results of full-scale tests. The paper proposes a variant of modifying the methods of vectors and state trees using fuzzy measure in the form of membership functions as a degree of truth of the concept “parameter by measurement results in tolerance” or “sample is recognized to be operable”. A methodology for virtual mechanical testing of rocket and space technology products on digital twins is proposed, which allows obtaining a quantitative assessment of the reliability of the generalized conclusion about the condition of the tested product in the form of a membership function reflecting the real degree of closeness of the assessment to its true state and implemented in the form of an appropriate program.

The vibration test of the cutting platform includes horizontal vibration and vertical vibration. The test conditions are that: the combine harvester is still and has no load and only the engine runs, or the engine and the cutting knife run simultaneously. Three horizontal vibration testing points and three vertical vibration testing points were arranged on the side of the cutter rack of the cutting platform, the side of the shield of the cutting platform and the side of the gap bridge.

AbstractChildhood maltreatment robustly predicts adolescent externalizing behaviors (EB; e.g., violence, delinquency, substance use) and may crystalize patterns of EB by influencing sensitivity to the social environment (e.g., parenting, friendships). In a nationally representative sample of 9,421 adolescents, we modeled latent growth curves of EB from age 13 to 32 years. Next, we explored whether maltreated youth differed from nonmaltreated youth in their sensitivity to parental closeness, friendship involvement, and polymorphisms from dopamine genes linked to EB (dopamine receptors D2 and D4, dopamine transporter). Overall, maltreated youth had significantly higher levels of EB across adolescence and adulthood; however, maltreated and nonmaltreated youth showed similar patterns of EB change over time: violent behavior decreased in adolescence before stabilizing in adulthood, whereas nonviolent delinquency and substance use increased in adolescence before decreasing in the transition to adulthood. Maltreatment reduced sensitivity to parental closeness and friendship involvement, although patterns varied based on type of EB outcome. Finally, none of the environmental effects on EB were significantly moderated by the dopamine polygenic risk score after accounting for multiple testing. These findings underline the enduring effects of early maltreatment and implicate that maltreatment may contribute to long-term risk for EB by influencing children's sensitivity to social relationship factors in adolescence.

The purpose of this paper is to determine the best dimple core design for metal sandwich panels by investigating the various critical criteria and core design parameters using the fuzzy-hybrid multi-criteria decision-making tool. The structural integrity of a sandwich panel depends on the core design and significantly affects the bonding strength. The continuous design and testing of a sandwich panel is a very lengthy process that increases the design time. The simulation analysis output was segregated into nine critical failure criteria. All the critical criteria weightages were evaluated using the Fuzzy-Analytical Hierarchical Process, while the Fuzzy—Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution was used to evaluate the Closeness Coefficient value to determine the best core design configuration. The results indicate that the core configuration with a diameter of 6.0 mm and a depth of 3.0 mm obtained the highest closeness coefficient values, 0.9937 and 0.9294, under cyclic loading conditions of 50% and 70%. It was shown that using average sizes in the dimple configuration tends to provide better delamination resistance and structural integrity. This study contributes to the selection of the optimum core design configuration based on the various design criteria and using non-complex and competent analysis.

Students are important assets for an educational institution and for this reason, it is necessary to pay attention to the student's graduation rate on time. Presentation of the ups and downs of students' ability to complete their studies on time is one of the elements of campus accreditation assessment. Based on data from the Study Program Section in the last 3 years the student graduation presentation is only 25% of the total students who can complete their studies on time. In this study using the K-Nearest Neighbor algorithm which aims to be able to identify student graduation in new cases by adapting solutions from previous cases that have closeness to new cases. This algorithm has the role to get the value of the closeness of the new case to the old case, which in turn the most population in area K with the closest value obtained by the student is predicted whether to pass on time or not on time. This study uses Roger S. Pressman's waterfalll method, namely Communication, Planning, Modeling, and Construction. Based on the tests carried out using K-Fold Cross Validation, the highest accuracy in the third model was 80% when folded 4th and 61% when the K value = 1. While testing using the Confusion Matrix obtained the highest accuracy of 98% at K = 1 for classification "Timely", and 98% at K = 2 for classification "Not Timely"

Self-disclosure is a means through which closeness, familiarity, and satisfaction are produced between partners. The present study integrated interpersonal and mass communication literature to theoretically inform the outcomes of mediated forms of self-disclosure between a viewer and character on television. Empirically testing the effects of two dimensions of disclosure – depth (low intimacy versus high intimacy) and mode (character-to-viewer versus character-to-character versus narrator-to-viewer) of information delivery – this research supported the prediction that a viewer’s overall enjoyment of witnessing a character self-disclose personal information would be mediated by identification and transportation. The results suggest the meaningful role of “character address” in heightening audience engagement with both the character and narrative. Implications for the similarity of interpersonal and mediated relationships, effective entertainment formats, social reality perceptions, and online self-disclosure are discussed.

Relevance Devices and apparatuses operating in outer space have a high cost due to extreme operating conditions and high requirements for reliability, which, as a result, leads to the need for thorough testing of the performance of all elements, assemblies and subsystems before being sent into space underground conditions. Among the many elements of spacecraft, the process of testing transformable parts that deploy in space from the transport position to the working position is difficult, however, under terrestrial conditions, due to the influence of the weight of the elements on the deployment system and hinges, testing without auxiliary systems does not guarantee reliability of the conducted experiments. Accordingly, one of the solutions is the use of weightless systems that compensate for the weight of the transformable parts of spacecraft. Aim of research Analysis of the operation of a support weightless system based on a mobile robotic platform on holonomic wheels using mathematical and natural modeling. Research methods Mathematical and natural modeling. To compare transient processes, the main quality indicators used in the theory of automatic control are used. Results The transient responses are obtained for the angles of deflection and the angle of deflection of the operation of the model and the full-scale stand of weightless systems. Qualitative and quantitative analysis confirms the efficiency of the method and the closeness of the obtained natural results with the model ones. The weighing accuracy obtained on a full-scale stand is 97.7 %.

Empirical evidence about the development of social relationships across adulthood into late life continues to accumulate, but theoretical development has lagged behind. The Differential Investment of Resources (DIRe) model integrates these empirical advances. The model defines the investment of time and energy into social ties varying in terms of emotional closeness and kinship as the core mechanism explaining the formation and maintenance of social networks. Individual characteristics, acting as capacities, motivations, and skills, determine the amount, direction, and efficacy of the investment. The context (e.g., the living situation) affects the social opportunity structure, the amount of time and energy available, and individual characteristics. Finally, the model describes two feedback loops: (a) social capital affecting the individual’s living situation and (b) different types of ties impacting individual characteristics via social exchanges, social influences, and social evaluations. The proposed model will provide a theoretical basis for future research and hypothesis testing.

As one of the five dimensions of social and emotional ability, open-mindedness is derived from the openness factor of the "Big Five Personality", which describes one’s willingness to try and accept novel experiences. People with a high level of open-mindedness are more creative and artistic, while those with low level of openness are more obedient to tradition and pragmatic, but lack of innovation. According to the OECD research framework, open-mindedness includes tolerance, curiosity and creativity. This study is based on data collected from 10-year-old and 15-year-old students in Suzhou city participating in the OECD social and emotional ability assessment. It uses descriptive statistics, difference testing and regression analysis to present the performance of Suzhou students’ open-mindedness. This allows the study to provide reference for the accurate assessment of teenagers' social and emotional abilities, in addition to further developing the quality of education in China. The study presents data results from the following three parts: the first part presents the overall score of open-mindedness, the correlation between open-mindedness and other sub-abilities, and the age difference of open-mindedness (comparison between 10 and 15 years old group), gender difference, urban-rural difference, and the difference between general high and vocational high; the second part presents the factors influencing open-mindedness through regression analysis, including background variables, individual factors, family upbringing, teacher factors, and school factors; the third part presents the effects of tolerance, curiosity and creativity on academic achievement (Chinese, math, art), educational expectation, global consciousness, closeness to family, closeness to others, health, life happiness, life satisfaction, test anxiety and other life outcome variables of 10 and 15 year old students through regression analysis.

Abstract Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is associated with emotional regulation and cognitive processing challenges throughout life. Not well-understood is how ADHD genetic risk (ADHD-GR) affects depressive symptoms (DepSx) and cognitive functioning in older age. Furthermore, less is known about the mechanisms through which some individuals show better outcomes despite higher ADHD-GR. We evaluated potential mechanisms using the Health and Retirement Study with data from 7,871 European Americans (EAs) and 1,226 African Americans (AAs), ages 50-93, and ADHD-GR calculated from a mixed ancestry genomewide scan. Mediators included closeness of parental relationships during childhood, sense of purpose in life in adulthood, and educational attainment. Outcomes included validated scales for DepSx and cognitive functioning. Structural equation models were stratified by race/ethnicity due to potential differences in genetic effects, adjusted for age, gender, ancestry, and health conditions with DepSx and genetic risk for dementia with cognitive functioning. Among EAs, ADHD-GR significantly predicted lower sense of purpose (p<.05) and worse parental relationships (p<.001), with higher levels of both, in turn, predicting less DepSx (p's< 0.01). ADHD-GR also showed significant direct effects on DepSx (p<.01), controlling for mediators. Additionally, ADHD-GR predicted less education (p<.001), but more education predicted better cognitive functioning (p< 0.001). No relationships with ADHD-GR were significant among AAs. Findings imply that among EAs, mediators could be targets to mitigate negative effects on psychological and cognitive health, two hallmark challenges for individuals with ADHD. More work is needed to characterize ADHD-GR on outcomes among older AAs.

This study aims to determine the effect of self-confidence in children's independence in the nursery. This study uses a survey method with a quantitative approach. The survey research in question is describing a causal relationship commonly referred to as path analysis. The samples were randomly determined, namely Lotus Kindergarten, Rahmah Kindergarten, and Kindergarten Aisyiah Perumnas II with a sample of 142 students. Path analysis requires that the data to be analyzed meet several statistical tests, namely: (1) Normality test, (2) Homogeneity Test, (3) Test of Significance and Linearity Test of Regression Coefficient and (4) Multicolourity Test. In this study it was found that there was a significant relationship between Confidence (X1) and Independence (X2). The closeness of the relationship between X1 and X2 is confirmed by the results of testing the hypothesis that there is a positive direct effect of Self-Confidence (X1) on Independence (X2). The results of hypothesis testing indicate that Self Confidence (X1) has a significant effect on Independence (X2) as evidenced by the results of statistical tests. The size of the contribution of the Self Confidence variable to Independence is statistically indicated by the value (ρy1 x ρy1) = 0.32 x 0.32 = 0.10 or 10%. This value indicates that approximately 10% of the variation in the independence of children in kindergarten (Group B) is explained directly by self-confidence.

Industrialization and urbanization have run into situations where the construction of buildings is close to each other. This closeness arises due to the restricted available space in a practical construction manner. Such a situation was a reason for the cause of footing of the same and adjacent structures coming closer. This condition causes interference effects, soil-structure interaction, and the stress zone impact to behave differently other than the continuum soil media in the vicinity under the base of the foundation due to overlap stress distribution, which results in excessive foundation settlement. Therefore, the study aims to assess the interference effect of closely spaced footing on settlement variation. In this regard, comprehensive experimental soil properties were conducted using the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) testing procedures to characterize soil behavior. The interference of two footings in the settlement is studied using 3D finite element analysis. The hardening soil was used to model the foundation soil medium using the Plaxis 3D program. Certain vital factors of two neighboring footings for differing maximum loads, distance, embedment ratio, soil layer, and groundwater level are discovered to impact overlapping footing influence. It is observed that the spacing between the footings increases, and the interference impact on the overlapping footings declines, reaching the isolated footing condition at spacing higher than five foundation footing dimensions and increasing when the spacing between the footings decreases.

Using the example of a model collection of 10 texts in five languages (English, German, Spanish, Italian, and French) using Latin graphics, the article establishes the applicability of the γ-classifier for automatic recognition of the language of a work based on the frequency of 26 common Latin alphabetic letters. The mathematical model of the γ-classifier is represented as a triad. Its first component is a digital portrait (DP) of the text - the distribution of the frequency of alphabetic unigrams in the text; the second component is formulas for calculating the distances between the DP texts and the third is a machine learning algorithm that implements the hypothesis of “homogeneity” of works written in one language and “heterogeneity” of works written in different languages. The tuning of the algorithm using a table of paired distances between all products of the model collection consisted in determining an optimal value of the real parameter γ, for which the error of violation of the “homogeneity” hypothesis is minimized. The γ-classifier trained on the texts of the model collection showed a high, 100% accuracy in recognizing the languages of the works. For testing the classifier, an additional six random texts were selected, of which five were in the same languages as the texts of the model collection. By the method of the nearest (in terms of distance) neighbor, all new texts confirmed their homogeneity with the corresponding pairs of monolingual works. The sixth text in Romanian showed its heterogeneity in relation to all elements of the collection. At the same time, it showed closeness in minimum distances, first of all, to two texts in Spanish and then to two works in Italian.

In obtaining stable and high rice yields, the leading role belongs to the use of the best varieties, harmoniously combining productivity and technological indicators of grain and milled rice quality, adapted for cultivation in the main rice-growing regions. Therefore, the aim of our research is to evaluate new rice genotypes by a set of economically valuable traits that can replace obsolete varieties in the sowing area of the region and the country as a whole for industry efficiency. Experimental plots of competitive variety testing (CVT) were laid on the territory of the rice irrigation system of the experimental production department of the Federal Scientific Rice Centre, Belozerny, Krasnodar region for three years. The results are processed by analysis of variance and correlation analysis. All new varieties formed dense panicles of 10.0-11.9 pcs / cm with a sufficient number of fertile spikelets 139.7-165.9 pcs. on average, which is responsible for the high grain content of agrophytocenosis 44.1-58.2 thousand units/m2. Hence the high grain yield - 9.2-10.2 t / ha with a good combination of the main technological indicators - the mass of 1000 grains and head rice content. The closeness of the interconnections of the main economically valuable traits and the heat supply of the growing season is determined. Four varieties (except VNIIR 10284) show a neutral yield response to one of the main factors of external influence on the plant - the sum of effective temperatures above 15 ° C. According to the results of the test, for three years in CVT and in the environmental testing, the variety Romans was transferred to State variety testing, VNIIR 10279 is being prepared for transfer.

Abstract. Background: Theory is the foundation of science; this is true in suicidology. Over decades of studies of suicide notes, Leenaars developed a multidimensional model of suicide, with international (crosscultural) studies and independent verification. Aim: To corroborate Leenaars's theory with a psychological autopsy (PA) study, examining age and sex of the decedent, and survivor's relationship to deceased. Method: A PA study in Norway, with 120 survivors/informants was undertaken. Leenaars' theoretical–conceptual (protocol) analysis was undertaken of the survivors' narratives and in-depth interviews combined. Results: Substantial interjudge reliability was noted (κ = .632). Overall, there was considerable confirmatory evidence of Leenaars's intrapsychic and interpersonal factors in suicide survivors' narratives. Differences were found in the age of the decedent, but not in sex, nor in the survivor's closeness of the relationship. Older deceased people were perceived to exhibit more heightened unbearable intrapsychic pain, associated with the suicide. Conclusion: Leenaars's theory has corroborative verification, through the decedents' suicide notes and the survivors' narratives. However, the multidimensional model needs further testing to develop a better evidence-based way of understanding suicide.

Welded yield strength is designed to be large enough to handle all forces and pressures on the joint and is designed to be as strong as the tube itself. Hence, the objective of this paper was to investigate the use of artificial neural network (ANN) to evaluate and forecast selected welding parameters on mild steel welded joints soldered by tungsten inert gas (TIG) using sixty (60) experimental data generated by replicating the design matrix from the Central composite Design (CCD) used for the ANN modelling. The welding current, welding voltage and gas flow rate were selected as process parameters and yield strength chosen as Response. Data obtained show that the R-value (coefficient of correlation) for training shows of 95.8% closeness, 99.2% for validation and 93.1% for testing respectively. The overall R-value obtained is 95.1% which showed that the developed model can accurately predict the value of strength. Results also showed that ANN is a highly effective tool for prediction of the Yield strength in TIG Mild steel weld.

Wardah is the originator of the trend for halal cosmetics in Indonesia. Wardah always carries a "halal" strategy in its advertising and marketing, so that Wardah is the most well-known halal cosmetic product in the community, because "halal" has become a separate brand image for Wardah. This study aims to determine the effect of perceptions of the halal label on purchasing decisions for Wardah products in the people of Gandu Village. The method used in this research is a quantitative method. Test techniques and data analysis include validity test, reliability test, percentage data description test, normality test, simple linear regression, Pearson correlation, t test and coefficient of determination (r2) using SPSS version 22.The results showed that the value of r2 was 0.293 which implies that the influence of the perceived halal label variable (X) on the purchase decision variable (Y) was 29.3% and the remaining 70.7% was influenced by other variables. The results of hypothesis testing using simple linear regression analysis show that perceptions of halal labels have a significant effect on purchasing decisions. The conclusion of the research results shows that the variable perception of the halal label and the purchase decision has a unidirectional relationship (b = 0.647), the level of closeness is moderate (r = 0.541), and the variable perception of the halal label contributes to the purchase decision variable by 29.3% with low criteria. Furthermore, based on the results of hypothesis testing (t test), it shows that the hypothesis (H1) is accepted, meaning that the perception variable of the halal label influences the purchasing decision variable.

This research is motivated by how the level of work environment influences the satisfaction of harvest employees, it needs to be understood that the expected satisfaction of an employee is not easily influenced by various factors of compensation, motivation, work environment and other factors, therefore the purpose of this study is to know the possibility of environmental influences on the job satisfaction of harvest employees. This research is a case study at PT. dewata palm archipelago, east Kalimantan. The population in this study were harvest employees, totaling 40 respondents. Data collection method is a questionnaire. The sampling technique uses cluster sampling. Data analysis techniques using simple linear regression equation models and using the t test to analyze the closeness of the relationship of individual variables, while testing the instrument using the test of validity and reliability The results showed there was a significant influence of the work environment on employee job satisfaction value of Sig = 0.39 <0, 05 and the value of t table shows there is a direction of the positive influence of the physical work environment on employee job satisfaction (t count = 3.335> t table = 2.021).

The evolution of internet to the Internet of Things (IoT) gives an exponential rise to the data collection process. This drastic increase in the collection of a person’s private information represents a serious threat to his/her privacy. Privacy-Preserving Data Publishing (PPDP) is an area that provides a way of sharing data in their anonymized version, i.e. keeping the identity of a person undisclosed. Various anonymization models are available in the area of PPDP that guard privacy against numerous attacks. However, selecting the optimum model which balances utility and privacy is a challenging process. This study proposes the Efficient Data Anonymization Model Selector (EDAMS) for PPDP which generates an optimized anonymized dataset in terms of privacy and utility. EDAMS inputs the dataset with required parameters and produces its anonymized version by incorporating PPDP techniques while balancing utility and privacy. EDAMS is currently incorporating three PPDP techniques, namely k-anonymity, l-diversity, and t-closeness. It is tested against different variations of three datasets. The results are validated by testing each variation explicitly with the stated techniques. The results show the effectiveness of EDAMS by selecting the optimum model with minimal effort.
