Resumo:
Experimental results of the development of self-healing fuses based on ceresin–nanocarbon composites are presented. The technical framework for the applicability of industrial resettable fuses based on polyethylene is justified. Good prospects of using composites based on ceresin to create low-temperature posistor elements with the aim of providing current protection for solar cells is shown.

In the proposed work, the experimental data on the processes of crystallization and different nature waxy hydrocarbons recrystallization in hydrocarbon solvents have been compared. T-1 technical paraffin (GOST 23683-89) with the melting point of 54 °С and ceresin-80 (GOST 2488-79) with the dropping temperature of 80 °C have been used. РТ-1 kerosene (GOST 10227-86) and de-waxed oil of fraction 420-490 °С have been used as hydrocarbon solvents. The experimental data on crystallization and recrystallization processes of paraffin wax with a melting temperature of 54 ºC and ceresin with a dropping temperature of 80 °C in kerosene and dewaxed oil are presented in this paper. It is shown that chemical structure has the main influence on the processes of crystallization and recrystallization of solid petroleum hydrocarbons. An exceedance of solid hydrocarbons solution temperatures tр above their cloud points tп has been observed which is explained by hysteretic processes. The temperature difference Δt = tр- tп depends on the solid hydrocarbons nature and their content in solvents. Wax solutions in kerosene have higher values Δt relative to ceresin solutions in kerosene, which can be explained by the difference in chemical structure of solid hydrocarbons. With the increase in solid hydrocarbons content in their solvents due to the differences in solid hydrocarbons diffusion rate, Δt decreases. The discovered regularities of solid hydrocarbons crystallization and recrystallization should be taken into account in the processes of paraffin oil production, transportation and processing.

This research was focused on the analysis of material composition and organic residues present in three molds found in the Moravian region (Czech Republic) belonging to the Roman era. X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy pointed out the possible remelting of Roman objects in Barbarian territory. The analysis of organic residues retrieved from the internal part of mold #2 by pyrolysis-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry proved the presence of ozokerite wax (“earth wax”). Consequent analysis of this organic residue by Atmospheric Solids Analysis Probe–ion mobility spectrometry–high-resolution mass spectrometry (ASAP-IMS-HRMS) confirmed the presence of ceresin, the main component of ozokerite. Ceresin was also detected in a sample of the organic residue from mold #1. Note that this is the first application of ASAP-IMS-HRMS in archaeological research. The remains of earth wax in molds suggest the production of wax models as an intermediate stage for the production of lost-wax ceramic casting molds.

Objectives. This paper presents research results on the encapsulation of a fluidized bed of liquid and solid toxic waste containing chemicals with a hazard class of 1–3.Methods. Soils contaminated with hexachlorobenzene and hexachlorocyclohexane were used as the seed material. Ceresin was selected as the encapsulant, which was sprayed onto the fluidized bed through a pneumatic nozzle at a temperature of 135°C. Before the spraying of the ceresin, binders were introduced into the fluidized bed of the seed material through pneumatic nozzles in the form of a melt of high-temperature coal-tar pitch and wastewater containing sodium and arsenic salts as well as heavy metal oxides. The experiments were carried out using a modified GLATT AGT-150 laboratory unit.Results. The results demonstrate that the mechanism for granule formation is a mixed mechanism. The binding of the seed material is carried out by both the pitch and salting out. In this case, the cavities in the agglomerates are partially filled with salt deposits, which increases the strength and integrity of the final product’s structure. Ranges for the process parameter values were established at the point at which there was no unwanted agglomeration in the fluidized bed, and dust formation did not exceed 5%. When the ratio of the bed mass to the mass of ceresin is equal to unity, a moisture-resistant free-flowing product of hazard class 5 is obtained, which is suitable for transportation and long-term storage. The average diameters of the initial particles and encapsulated granules were 0.5 and 1.5 mm, respectively.Conclusions. The present study demonstrates a potential process for the granulation– encapsulation of toxic waste and hazardous substances with a hazard class of 1–3 in a single fluid-bed apparatus, resulting in the formation of a moisture-resistant hazard class-5 granular product suitable for transportation and long-term storage. The results obtained can be used in the development of an industrial large-scale process for encapsulating waste of hazard classes 1–3.

The compositions, methods of preparation and specific technological parameters of the production processes of cobalt catalysts for the synthesis of long chain hydrocarbons from synthesis gas were justified. To obtain C35+ selective catalysts by coprecipitation of active components, the carrier must provide a polydisperse distribution of the pore volume along the radii. This is achieved by hydrothermal treatment of the aluminosilicate carrier. To increase the strength of catalysts, it is possible to incorporate natural bentonites and diatomite of Roctov region deposits into the composition of coprecipitated catalysts. Effective catalytic systems are impregnated catalysts on Al2O3 and SiO2 supports with aluminum oxide promotion. The insertion of 5% - Al2O3 of cobalt metal mass allows to form crystallites of Co-CoO system with a size of 8 nm on the SiO2 surface, which provides high activity and selectivity for ceresin. Aluminum oxide is stabilized with Co3O4 in a structure with a high degree of ordering, without hindering its reduction, with the formation of cobalt predominantly with the crystalline structure of hexagonal close packing. Catalyst technologies are implemented in industry. The catalysts underwent continuous continuous testing (1000 h) in laboratory and industrial conditions, showed high stability of operation. During the entire operation, the yield of C5+ hydrocarbons was 159-171 g/Nm3 based on the processed synthesis gas. The long-chain hydrocarbons C35+ (ceresin) obtained are of high quality: the dropping point was 114-116 °C (37-40% ceresin content). Operation during the year of two industrial reactors at the Novocherkassk plant of synthetic products with a total volume of catalyst loading of 18 m3 confirmed the results of laboratory tests. The article presents the results of work on determining the possibility of obtaining paraffin compounds for various purposes using domestic raw materials. The expediency of using high-molecular purified by-products of oil refineries (the process of dewaxing mineral oils) as components of the candle mass is shown. The proposed method for obtaining candle mass will reduce the burden on the environment, reduce the cost of the process of obtaining candles and expand the base of raw materials for their manufacture through the use of production waste.

In the present work, an attempt has been made to produce a wax blend which could offer a better surface finish. Experiments were conducted with different types of waxes namely paraffin wax, bees wax, montan wax, carnabua wax and ceresin wax by varying their proportions. In each case the surface roughness of wax pattern was determined. The experimental data obtained were used to optimize the quantity of the waxes to form a blend having minimum surface roughness. The effect of varying proportions of the aforesaid waxes on the surface roughness of the wax blends was investigated. Taguchi method was used to optimize the required composition of the waxes. Taguchi method has successfully suggested the required proportions of the aforesaid waxes for the blend which could offer the minimum surface roughness.

Background: Phosphate-bonded investments produce a refractory cast model with rough surface and undesirable properties. Dental Surface hardening agents are then applied to refractory investment materials to enhance its properties. Purpose: compare and evaluate the effects of different dental cast hardening agents (Bees wax, Carnauba wax, and Ceresin wax) on surface roughness of refractory model investment material. Approach: 30 specimens were constructed from commercially available phosphate bonded investment material. Specimens were subjected to a roughness test before dipping in handing agents, then divided into three groups according to the type of wax in which they were dipped. (10 specimens for each type). Surface roughness test was done by a profilometer where three readings were taken for all the specimens' surfaces randomly. The mean was then extracted for the roughness values before and after dipping in waxes. Results: the mean and standard deviation were tabulated and statistically analyzed using students T- test. The roughness values were decreased after the specimens were dipped in waxes (P value < 0.001 HS highly significant). Conclusion: The dipping process with hardening agents has significantly improved the surface roughness of the specimens' investment materials.

When treating historical beeswax seals, it seems a natural choice to use materials as similar to the original as possible. The properties of analogous recent materials, however, differ from those of the aged ones, not to mention the fact that the exact composition of the particular sealing wax is usually uncertain. In order to obtain the material of desired properties, recent beeswax is often combined with various additives, including petroleum waxes, or even replaced by mixtures based solely on these products. Within this study, the relevant properties of Permulgin 3274, a ceresin-type wax, were compared with the characteristics of recent and historical beeswaxes. The aim was to evaluate its advantages and limitations, in terms of its possible use for the conservation of beeswax seals. The properties studied were comprised of the chemical composition, thermal properties, mechanical properties, possibilities of colour adjustment and ageing properties. Permulgin 3274′s workability was evaluated by conservators from the National Archives in Prague. The results indicate that, from the technological point of view, Permulgin 3274 could be considered a welcome alternative to the use of traditional conservation mixtures.

The presented article proposes an analytical method for modeling heat exchange processes inside the “thermal core”, which is a coaxial cylinder filled with heat storage material with a phase change material. The equation for heating the cooled phase change material inside the “thermal core” is derived, taking into account the radial transfer of heat in any i-th zone and in the first and last ring zones, separately. The dependence of the heat capacity of the phase change material on the temperature was studied, taking into account the change in the heat capacity according to the cosine law. Also, a comparison of the analytical data of the mathematical modeling with the results obtained experimentally in previous studies is presented and obtained a high degree of similarity, which indicates the reliability of the proposed analytical methodology. Recommendations are provided for the practical implementation of the research results, namely the use of a coaxial pipe “thermal core” filled with a pre-selected material with a phase change material in the construction of storage batteries used in the thermal power industry. As a result, capacitive batteries with a “thermal core” filled with ceresin are used in mobile thermal batteries MTA-0,5MW. Bibl. 14, Fig. 4, Tab. 2.

. The paper shows the possibility of obtaining a low-oil base for production of petroleum ceresins by de-oiling of petrolatum separated from residual raffinates produced at the enterprises of PJSC "LUKOIL". The results of research of influence of solvent composition and its multiplicity to the feedstock, final cooling temperature and number of de-oiling stages on product yield and its properties: drop point, needle penetration, oil content and kinematic viscosity are presented. Optimal values of technological parameters of de-oiling for different residual raffinates are established, possibility of production of ceresine with improved quality indicators is shown.

One of the main objectives of the project is to develop a methodology for obtaining high quality water-proofing materials. The above- mentioned high-melting tar mass will be used as the main raw material. Especial treatment and further homogenization of the mass – mixture of high-dispersive quartz sand, silicates and other wastes – gives possibility to make various universal and inexpensive compositions. With the aim to improve hydro-insulating and other specific characteristics of the compositions they will be varied by changing the ratio of ingredients. The elasticity of these compositions is conditioned by macromolecular paraffin-ceresin and the polymeric (rubber) components; varying the strength and adhesion is possible by soluble and insoluble silicate-quartz components. The mentioned components can be got in a large amount in region. Therefore, products obtained from cheap raw materials will be inexpensive. The use of the mentioned waste is also important to avoid the pollution of nature. Operating characteristics of the proposed luminophore satisfy requirements of international standarts. In particular, the solutions made from it have an ability to detect invisible cracks of the thick < 1 mm. The light intensity in its greenish-yellow area is 4,5-5 times more than that of standard - uranyl nitrate. It is stable with high quantum efficiency (40-45%).

Rumput laut merupakan sumber daya hayati yang sangat melimpah di perairan Indonesia. Salah satu nya Gracillaria SP. tergolong dalam rumput laut yang memiliki kandungan klorofil total dan pigmen aksesoris yang lebih tinggi dibanding dengan rumput laut merah lainnya sehingga berpotensi sebagai sumber antioksidan. Rumput laut Gracilaria SP. memiliki sumber antioksidan seperti flavonoid, karatenoid, pigmen, polifenol, enzim, dan berbagai polisakarida dalam jumlah yang melimpah. Untuk menambah pemanfaatan, infomasi dan referensi rumput laut Gracilaria SP. maka dapat diolah menjadi sediaan Lip Balm. Pada penelitian ini, pembanding yang digunakan yaitu Cosmol 43 V dan Salacos 99. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membuat formulasi Lip Balm ektrak rumput laut Gracilaria SP. sebagai Antioksidan dengan variasi Cosmol 43 V dan Salacos 99. Lip Balm dibuat menjadi 3 formula dengan pembanding Cosmol 43 V dan Salacos 99 yang berbeda. Cosmol 43V dengan F1 (41%), F2 (36%), F3 (31%), dan Salacos 99 dengan F1 (7%), F2 (12%), F3 (17%), dan setiap formula dengan Ekstrak 1%, Candelilla Wax 9%, Ceresin Wax 11%, Propilen Glycol 4%, Cosmol 222 17%, Euxyl PE 9010 2%, Flaver Vanilla 2%, dan pewarna 6%. Kemudian dilakukan evaluasi sediaan yang meliputi Uji Homogenitas, Uji pH, Uji Organoleptik, dan Uji Panelis. Hasil sediaan Lip Balm Ekstrak Rumput Laut memiliki rata-rata pH 5,0-5,5. Hasil uji aktivitas antioksidan pada ekstrak rumput laut (Gracilaria SP.) didapat nilai IC50 sebesar 8,147 ppm. Hal ini menyatakan bahwa ekstrak rumput laut Gracilaria SP. memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang sangat kuat. F1 memiliki konsentrasi Cosmol 43 V lebih banyak dibanding Salacos 99, shingga tekstur, warna, dan aroma sangat diminati responden.

The article deals with the research of thermal energy storage tanks. It is proposed to use a «thermal core» to minimize the effects of thermal stratification and high thermal inertia. The thermal core consists of a binary tube placed along the central axis of the tank, filled with a paraffin mixture with a melting point of 45 to 65oC and a density of 0,880 to 0,915g/cm3 at 15oC. In the study the Fluent software package was used to model the temperature distribution in the tank under free convection conditions, the data was then converted to the Transient Thermal module of the ANSYS software package for further calculations of the unsteady temperature distribution in the thermal core. The study showed that a 1400-liter thermal energy storage device, heated for 1 hour by a heat-transfer fluid at 115oC, cools down to 50oC in 4 hours. The research also revealed the need to improve the tank design based on the analysis of the hydrodynamic structure of the flow in the tank, as evidenced by the trajectory distribution of free convective flows. The authors concluded that the use of a heat core, regardless of the type of paraffin used to form it, helps to reduce temperature stratification by height in the tank and that the type of paraffin used has no significant effect on the overall cooling of the tank. However, using ceresin as a core filler results in a slightly higher average tank temperature. Based on the results of the study, the time of complete cooling of the tank was determined by the non-uniform temperature field of all elements of the tank.

The results of a laboratory study of the wear patterns of blades of tillage parts are presented. To substantiate the model of soil-cutting blade wear in laboratory studies. Applied installation, providing rectilinear movement of the sample, one-time interaction of the blade with the particles of abrasive mass, and reproducing chip separation, inherent in most loamy soils. The dependence of the angle of inclination of the occipital chamfer to the bottom of the furrow, the width of the occipital chamfer and blade wear along the length of the sample from the cutting path, taken in studies for the main parameters of wear, were obtained. It was found that with increasing depth of cut, the intensity of wear increases, but when there are irregularities and undulations of the bottom of the furrow, it decreases due to the increase in the cutting path with lower loads due to the alternation of depressions and protrusions at the bottom of the furrow. With increasing hardness of the abrasive mass, the intensity of wear of the blade increases, at the same time the value of the stabilized angle of the occipital chamfer to the bottom of the furrow decreases, due to changes in the wear mechanism. With increasing cutting speed, the intensity of blade wear increases due to increased soil resistance forces and specific energy expended on its deformation and destruction. It was shown that the abrasive model of the soil corresponds to the real loamy soil for the study of wear of cutting elements. The expansion of the characteristics of the soil model peculiar to «nature» is due to the inclusion of additional components, in particular ceresin and vaseline, in the composition of the base "paraffin + quartz particles".

Studying the wear of soil-cutting working tools in the field conditions has certain difficulties associated with the impermanence of soil properties. The paper presents the results of a laboratory study of the power characteristics in the process of wearing of a soil-cutting wedge in an artificial abrasive soil medium. (Research purpose) To determine the nature of changes in cutting forces in vertical and horizontal planes depending on the conditions and a degree of wear of a soil-cutting wedge. (Materials and methods) For the experiment, use was made of quartz as an abrasive material, paraffin with additives of ceresin and petrolatum as binding components; cement was additionally introduced to change the granulometric composition of a soil model, and a cross-planer was used as a drive mechanism. (Results and discussion) It has been shown that the horizontal component, or traction resistance, increases linearly with increasing the depth of cutting. An increase in the soil-cutting velocity also leads to an increase in the traction resistance of the wedge, and its magnitude increases in a power-law dependence on the velocity. It has been established that the cutting angle affects not only the variation of the wedge traction resistance, but also the shearing pattern, which changes as it increases and changes from shear shavings into shift shavings, which contributes to the traction force growth. It has been found that an increase in traction resistance is affected by an increase in the hardness of abrasive material and a decrease in the distribution density of solid particles in its volume. As the width of the back chamfer and the angle of its inclination to the furrow bottom increased, the traction characteristics both in the vertical and horizontal planes increased as well, the back chamfer width having the greatest influence on the vertical component. As the blade worn out depending on the friction path, the vertical component of frictional forces increased sharply, while the horizontal component increased insignificantly. (Conclusions) The results of the conducted studies have shown that the wedge depth mainly depends on the back chamfer width. The traction resistance of the wedge is greatly influenced by physical and mechanical properties of an abrasive medium, cutting conditions and a degree of the blade blunting.

SummarySpores of a known toxigenic and psychrotrophic dairy isolate ofBacillus cereus(HRM 44) were unable to grow and produce diarrhoeagenic toxin at 6 °C in creams and dairy-based products. These findings suggest that the production ofB. cereusdiarrhoeagenic toxin is unlikely to occur in creams and dairy-based products maintained within the cold chain. Growth and toxin production were readily demonstrated in creams and some desserts stored at 21 °C. Growth in creams was associated with obvious spoilage. However, in the flavoured desserts, spoilage was not always obvious before significant growth ofB. cereusand toxin production had occurred. Dairy desserts with high sugar content and/or low pH did not support toxin production and these findings are discussed.

Species of Ceresium and Examnes, Callidiopini, from the Philippines were reviewed. Six new species, Ceresium elongatipennesp. nov., Ceresium holzschuhisp. nov., Ceresium jimcopeisp. nov., Ceresium nigricollesp. nov., Ceresium quinquemaculatumsp. nov., Ceresium crassumsp. nov. and one new subspecies, Ceresium huedepohli mindanaosubsp. nov., are described. Of Examnes, one new subspecies, Examnes lumawigi subrugosussubsp. nov., is described. Male genitalia of eight Ceresium species and three Examnes species, in particular their endophalli and 8th sternites, are described and illustrated in detail. Female genitalia of three Ceresium species are described. The genitalia and the consequences for taxonomy are discussed.

Descriptions of four newly recorded species and a key to species of the genus Ceresium from Vietnam were provided. Notes on the distribution of all species occurring in Vietnam are also given.

A ecoteologia envolve todos os sentidos, especialmente a audição. Aprender a escutar o “eco” da criação, a voz que ora sussurra como o vento refrescante (1Rs 19,12). Ora canta como a água que brota dos montes (Is 41,18). Ora geme como a mulher parturiente (Rm 8,22) e ora se revolta e mostra a sua face agressiva como uma terrível tempestade (Jo 6,16-21). Para fazer ecoteologia é preciso que o ser humano assuma o seu papel de cocriador da obra divina. Como disse o Papa Francisco na Laudato Sì: “[…] a interpretação correta de ser humano como senhor do universo é entendê-lo no sentido de administrador responsável” (LS, 116). Atualmente, a humanidade vem sofrendo com os efeitos de uma crise que escorre por várias dimensões: social, econômica, ambiental, política, ética, sanitária etc. Não pensemos, pois, que esta profunda crise multidimensional foi provocada unicamente pela pandemia de Coronavírus. Na verdade, a catástrofe sanitária apenas tirou a casca da ferida e expôs a podridão de um sistema econômico que é matricida, pois explora e mata a mãe terra. O mundo pós-pandemia, como muito se fala, não pode voltar às práticas doentias que desembocaram no patamar atual que a humanidade se encontra. Neste sentido, a Teologia tem um papel fundamental na contemplação e no apontamento de novos caminhos sustentáveis para a humanidade. Cada área epistêmica do universo teológico tem o seu lugar próprio de fala. A Teologia Bíblica, por exemplo, pode olhar para a Sagrada Escritura e a partir dela construir uma reflexão ecoteológica significativa. Procurando responder às demandas atuais, o presente texto quer investigar e abrir caminho para futuras sistematizações bíblico-ecoteológicas sobre como os povos israelenses antigos produziam o seu alimento e como se relacionavam com a terra.

O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o crescimento de braquiária (Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu), em consorciação com milho, sorgo, milheto e arroz, bem como da sua rebrota após a colheita dos cereais. A presença dos cereais provocou redução no número de perfilhos, índice de área foliar, massa seca total da parte aérea, massa seca das folhas verdes e dos colmos e taxa de crescimento na braquiária, até a colheita dos cereais. O número de perfilhos alcançou valores maiores do que os da braquiária solteira, após a colheita dos cereais. Os índices de área foliar da braquiária consorciada foram baixos, em comparação com os dos cereais, e a baixa competição, em cobertura foliar, favoreceu a boa produtividade de grãos das culturas. Aos 60-70 dias após a colheita dos cereais, a braquiária rebrotada possuía fitomassa semelhante à da solteira 70 dias após a emergência.

As fibras alimentares podem auxiliar na prevenção de doenças intestinais, no tratamento de obesidade e na redução dos casos de doenças cardiovasculares. Devido aos benefícios das fibras foram criados os produtos fontes de fibras como pães, cereais matinais, biscoitos e barras de cereais. Segundo a Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária (ANVISA) através da Resolução da Diretoria Colegiada (RDC) nº 54, de 12 de novembro de 2012, para o alimento ser considerado fonte de fibras, ele deve conter na sua composição 2,5 gramas por porção ou 3 gramas de fibras em 100 ml /100 g de alimentos líquidos ou sólidos. Objetivou-se analisar e comparar a quantidade de fibras através do rótulo destes quatros produtos fontes de fibras. Estudo transversal quantitativo no qual foram analisadas sete amostras de marcas diferentes de biscoitos, sete de barras de cereais, sete de pães e sete de cereais matinais que continham a descrição no rótulo como fonte de fibras, totalizando 28 produtos. Foram analisados os teores de fibras descritos no rótulo de cada produto e comparados com a RDC nº 54, 2012. Os dados coletados foram obtidos e organizados em planilhas do programa Microsoft Office Excel. Dos 28 rótulos dos produtos, 93% (n=26) estavam de acordo com a resolução e 7% (n=2) não estavam pertencendo à categoria barra de cereal, não podendo ter alegação em seu rótulo de fonte de fibras. Concluiu-se que a maioria dos produtos estava de acordo com a resolução da ANVISA, podendo apresentar em seu rótulo a alegação de fonte de fibras.

As an intelligent material, microcapsules can efficiently self-heal internal microcracks and microdefects formed in cement-based materials during service and improve their durability. In this paper, microcapsules of nano-CaCO3/ceresine wax composite shell encapsulated with E-44 epoxy resin were prepared via the melt condensation method. The core content, compactness, particle size distribution, morphologies, chemical structure and micromechanical properties of microcapsules were characterized. The results showed that the encapsulation ability, mechanical properties and compactness of microcapsules were further improved by adding nano-CaCO3 to ceresine wax. The core content, elastic modulus, hardness and weight loss rate (60 days) of nano-CaCO3/ceresine wax composite shell microcapsules (WM2) were 80.6%, 2.02 GPA, 72.54 MPa and 1.6%, respectively. SEM showed that WM2 was regularly spherical with a rough surface and sufficient space inside the microcapsules to store the healing agent. The incorporation of WM2 to mortar can greatly improve the self-healing ability of mortar after pre-damage. After 14 days of self-healing, the compressive strength recovery rate, proportion of harmful pores and chloride ion diffusion coefficient recovery rate increased to 90.1%, 45.54% and 79.8%, respectively. In addition, WM2 also has good self-healing ability for mortar surface cracks, and cracks with initial width of less than 0.35 mm on the mortar surface can completely self-heal within 3 days.

Objective: to investigate the efficacy and safety of citicoline (Ceresil® Canon) in patients with post-stroke cognitive impairment.Patients and methods. Examinations were made in 33 patients aged 45 years and older who had experienced primary ischemic hemispheric stroke with complaints of a decline in memory or other cognitive functions. The cognitive status was assessed using the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) and the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA). The presence of anxiety-depressive spectrum disorders was determined on the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale. All the patients received citicoline (Ceresil® Canon) oral solution at a dose of 1000 mg/day for 3 months.Results and discussion. Citicoline administration showed a statistically significant reduction in the severity of cognitive impairment (p<0.001). The time course of positive changes in the cognitive status of patients was reflected by an increase in the median score on the MMSE from 26 [25; 27.5] to 28 [26.5; 29] and on MoCA from 23 [21; 25] to 25 [22; 26]. There was a decline in the number of patients with anxiety-depressive disorders. No adverse events or side effects were found in the patients.Conclusion. The findings suggest that citicoline (Ceresil® Canon) produced as an oral solution is well tolerated and improves cognitive functions and affective sphere in patients in the recovery period of ischemic stroke.

Parte significativa da população global enfrenta desafios de nutrição e restrição no acesso a proteínas de origem animal. Diante desse cenário, a alimentação humana com insetos emerge como uma alternativa promissora para atender às demandas nutricionais, oferecendo uma fonte sustentável e rica em nutrientes para as populações em crescimento. Nesse contexto, esse estudo propôs testar a aceitação de barras de cereais contendo larvas do inseto Tenebrio molitor Linnaeus, 1758 por universitários em Uberaba, utilizando uma degustação em um painel sensorial como método de avaliação. Barras de cereais foram distribuídas de forma duplo cega aos universitários da Universidade Federal do Triângulo Mineiro. Após a degustação, os participantes preencheram um questionário de Perfil de Características Quantitativas, avaliando subjetivamente o Aroma, Sabor, Textura, Impressão Global e a Intenção de Compra das barras de cereais. Não foram identificadas diferenças significativas entre as barras de cereais com e sem insetos em relação ao Aroma, Sabor, Textura e Impressão Global. No entanto, foi notável um aumento significativo na intenção de compra das barras de cereais que continham a larva do Tenebrio molitor em comparação com aquelas sem a presença do inseto. Esses resultados sugerem potencial aceitação e atratividade das barras de cereais com Tenebrio molitor, indicando que pode existir uma parcela do mercado disposta a adquirir alimentos contendo insetos.

As barras de cereais são produtos alimentícios obtidos da compactação de cereais, frutas secas, castanhas, aromas e ingredientes ligantes, que são utilizadas como opção de lanche rápido e saudável. Este trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar a aceitabilidade, aparência e qualidade nutricional de barras de cereais, adicionadas de diferentes concentrações de um fruto do cerrado processado como passa (murici-passa).Foram preparadas cinco formulações de barra de cereal com proporções crescentes de murici-passa em substituição à banana-passa [BCM0 – 100% banana (controle), BCM25 – 25% murici e 75% banana,BCM50 – 50% murici e 50% banana, BCM75 – 75% murici e 25% banana, BCM100 – 100% murici]. As formulações foram analisadas quanto aos teores de umidade, cinzas, proteínas, lipídeos e carboidratos totais por diferença, fibra alimentar e aceitabilidade. As barras de cereais apresentaram em média 10,00%de umidade, 76,00% de carboidratos totais, 4,70% de lipídeos, 7,30% de proteínas e 1,20% de cinzas. A adição do murici-passa às barras de cereais aumentou o teor de fibras e favoreceu a análise de aparência, e a aceitabilidade foi satisfatória na proporção 75:25 de banana-passa e murici-passa. A adição de murici-passa proporcionou sabor diferenciado e incrementou a aparência e a qualidade nutricional das barras de cereais, contribuindo para valorização desse fruto regional na alimentação humana.

Resumo:
A Ceres istennőhöz kapcsolódó egyik legfontosabb átmeneti rítus a mundus megnyitása. A mundus olyan objektum Rómában, aminek megnyitása különleges alkalmakkor tartott állami rituálé volt. Amíg a mundus nyitva volt, a holtak szellemei járták keresztül a világot, így minden akkor folytatott tevékenységet rossz előjelek fenyegettek. Sok vita övezi a mundus kérdéskörét, mert nem ismerjük a megjelenésének formáját, pontos elhelyezkedését, és a szokás eredetét is homály fedi. Tanulmányunkban arra keressük a választ, hogyan kapcsolódott Ceres mint agráristenség az élet és a halál kettősségéhez, miért kapcsolják alakjához a mundust, és ez miként jelenik meg a római szerzők munkáiban. Kitérünk arra is, hogy a mundus Cereris hogyan jöhetett létre Róma alapításakor, mi volt a célja, és mit jelenthetett a korabeli rómaiaknak.

Os cereais matinais são produtos amplamente consumidos pelo público infantil por serem muito saborosos, práticos e nutritivos, podendo ser também, enriquecidos com vitaminas e sais minerais. Deve-se considerar que a maioria dos cereais matinais existentes nos mercados, são elaborados a partir de ingredientes lácteos e cereais contendo glúten, e muitas crianças podem ser intolerantes à lactose e/ou alérgicas ao glúten. Com isso, o objetivo deste projeto foi elaborar um cereal matinal a base de soja e avaliar suas características físico-químicas, e sensoriais, visando juntar os benefícios da soja com a praticidade de consumo dos cereais matinais e proporcionar uma alternativa nos cardápios especiais. A partir dos resultados obtidos, entende-se que o cereal matinal elaborado a partir da soja teve boa aceitação sensorial e elevado valor energético, sendo uma alternativa viável para alimentação de crianças com intolerância à lactose e/ou alergia ao glúten.

Abstract Background Despite improvements in the genetic and epigenetic analysis of cell-free DNA (cfDNA), there has been limited focus on assessing the preanalytical variables of recovery efficiency following cfDNA extraction and bisulfite modification. Quantification of recovery efficiency after these steps can facilitate quality assurance and improve reliability when comparing serial samples. Methods We developed an exogenous DNA Construct to Evaluate the Recovery Efficiency of cfDNA extraction and BISulfite modification (CEREBIS) after cfDNA extraction and/or subsequent bisulfite modification from plasma. The strategic placement of cytosine bases in the 180 bp CEREBIS enabled PCR amplification of the construct by a single primer set both after plasma DNA extraction and following subsequent bisulfite modification. Results Plasma samples derived from 8 organ transplant donors and 6 serial plasma samples derived from a liver transplant recipient were spiked with a known number of copies of CEREBIS. Recovery of CEREBIS after cfDNA extraction and bisulfite modification was quantified with high analytical accuracy by droplet digital PCR. The use of CEREBIS and quantification of its recovery was useful in identifying problematic extractions. Furthermore, its use was shown to be invaluable towards improving the reliability of the analysis of serial samples. Conclusions CEREBIS can be used as a spike-in control to address the preanalytical variable of recovery efficiency both after cfDNA extraction from plasma and following bisulfite modification. Our approach can be readily implemented and its application may have significant benefits, especially in settings where longitudinal quantification of cfDNA for disease monitoring is necessary.

Introdução: Os cereais sãoamplamente utilizados na alimentação das crianças. Objetivo: avaliar a composição nutricional e a rotulagem de alimentos infantis à base de cereais, em relação à legislação vigente. Material e Métodos: Estudo transversal, analítico e descritivo que avaliou alimentos à base de cereais, bem como a conformidade da rotulagem em relação à legislação brasileira vigente. Resultados: Avaliaram-se 72 amostras de alimentos: cereal para alimentação infantil; mistura para o preparo de mingaus e farinha de cereais; 100% das amostras apresentaram alguma não conformidade em relação à legislação, incluindo a presença de falso conceito de vantagem e segurança, ilustrações não permitidas, ausência de advertências obrigatórias e ausência da idade mínima para consumo do produto. Nas análises bromatológicas e de rotulagem, o teor de carboidratos de todas as categorias ultrapassou 80% do valor energético total do produto. Os teores de proteínas, lipídios, carboidratos e energia da categoria cereal para alimentação infantil mostraram diferenças significativas, sendo, respectivamente, p=0,015, p<0,001, p=0,013 e p<0,001. A categoria “mistura para preparo de mingaus” também mostrou diferenças significativas para proteínas, lipídios, carboidratos e energia (p<0,001). Na categoria de farinhas de cereais, somente o teor de proteínas apresentou diferença (p=0,05). Conclusão: Considerando o universo amostral do estudo, é possível concluir que mesmo na vigência de legislações específicas, ainda encontramos não conformidades legais na rotulagem de alimentos à base de cereais destinados à alimentação infantil, sendo que esses alimentos apresentam composição nutricional diferente das informações apresentadas em seus rótulos, impactando negativamente a segurança alimentar de crianças.
