In their thanatic myths, funeral rites and proverbs, the Betsimisaraka try to show the creative dimension of death as a source of initiatic renewal. Death, which is inseparable from life is the final event around which all human activity revolves, just as the earth is structured from the ancestral tomb. It is therefore by invoking millenary traditions, such as their funeral rites, that the Betsimisaraka hope to resist the challenge of both the modern world and ideological and technological upheavals of all kinds

In this sense thesis is developed on philosophical arguments. This idea is developed on two complementary levels: in the first part we take a look at the writings of Paz concerning classical philosophic concepts: time, history and culture. These ideas lead us to study the cultural context of Latin America, on the basis of which Paz wrote. This part finishes with a criticism of the notion of self. The second part treats more concretely the ideas of Paz on the aesthetic, more precisely on poetry. It begins with his conception of language and finishes on the poetic phenomenon and its signification in the present day world

Texto completo da fonteFrom a problem regarding her identity, helene cadou, who inspired the poet rene guy cadou, asks, by means of the poem, an essential question : + who speaks if i speak ? ;. She gets lost and finds herself alternately in the images reflected as in a mirror by the others. Between immanence and transcendence, her quest leads her to bring to light basic dualities : the identity of rene, as it appears beyond death, merged with christ's ; in the same way it joins that of helene. It seems necessary to the poetess to find a name to personally maintain herself present with reality. In so doing, helene cadou tries to place herself at the heart of the spatial-temporal categories as an individual irreducible to any other. The poetic modes of experimentation of those categories reveal the importance granted here to the woman who concentrates in herself an unsuspected potential of regeneration. The representation of the residence calls to mind the possible rupture in level between the + here ; and the + there ;, between remembrance and future. The loving presence of woman in the world thus leads to the triumph of an absolute present which frees from constraints, linked to space and time. Working to restore what death has unmade, the woman considers the destiny as the testimony of a disappeared order, whose accuracy sometimes shows beyond the poem. Again, she discovers the sense of her quest by participating, through the poetic writing, in the order of a new universe. Visual poetry, the works of helene cadou, from 1977 to 1989, appear as a homage to light and transparency. No escape is possible if the poem is not considered as an act of love. The other, object of desire, reveals to the loving woman her own essence : the universal. The exchange established between her an the poetic language continues and renews her loving relationship. Based on similar attitudes of nakedness and self-sacrifice, the act of love thus done transcends the relationship of two beings into an unexpected opening up on to all + possibles ;. From this creative experience, a new fecundity follows, in which the woman ends-up discovering herself. Revealing the necessary complementarity of life and death, the works of helene cadou concentrate in its totality the original poetic experience of a female poet at the end of this century

The present thesis is about death questioning following both historical and philosophical aspects. The idea is to work starting from the antique answers to the problem of death in oder to refer to the contemporary and modern ones. The problem raised by this thesis is the paradox of what seems to be an impossible history : in fact, it seems that everything had been said in the beginning. It therefore is not an accumulative history, truths on death cannot be piled up, but, a critical one where death plays it part on testing reason itself

The crisis of the almohad power during the XIIIth century allows the group (with the Banu Al'Azafi) to build an original political system : the sura. After the fall of sevilla, Sabta becomes an important refuge for the andalucian refugees and a well-known place of knowledge. The study emphasizes the original contribution of Sabta to the medieval civilization of the maghreb : the Cadi'iyad, the geographer Al Idrisi. Sabta was also the first place which celebrate the mawlid, had a medersa and innovate in other minor fields like cooking, chess. .

Texto completo da fonteFirst, we will try to define, by an objective analysis distributed around three periods (prehistory, history and contemporary searches) what "artificial life" is. The elaboration of a glossary and the evocation of specific doctrines concerning this domain will allow us to envisage the innovative subject of "artificial death". An experimental work based on the phenomena of emergence of evolutionist life and the conception of genetic algorithms applied to digital art will allow us to envisage to share the creative process between the artist and the computer. In order to suggest a pictorial representation of artificial death, we will study space and temporal dimensions of the image. We will try to push back the limits of this dimensions, by suggesting the hypothesis of a three-dimensional representation ready to be freed from the constraints of the conventional conical perspective : curvilinear projection. After conducting experimental tests by photography, sketches and computer graphics, we will create a specific rendering engine able to prove the following hypothesis : 1) it's possible to design a virtual model of "a-death" based on a biological form of positive and creative death, the "apoptosis", 2) by using techniques of the anamorphosis, totally adapted for digital art, we can reach a poetic and aesthetic approach of death, 3) experimentation of "virtual fossilization" demonstrate that it is possible to conceive an aesthetic and innovative model of "a-death", inspired by biological processes. Through this example, the main objective is to show the way for further developments, so it doesn't pretend to be a definitive work

Texto completo da fonteThis thesis seeks to investigate the vicissitudes of the entrance of adolescents into the social realm in large urban centers, where they are immersed in a scenario of social anomie and violence. We are interested in investigating the strategies of adolescent subjectivization in a context where life in the social milieu tends towards a probable, and anonymous, death. How can these adolescents be induced into taking part in the social compact when neither their lives, nor their deaths, are likely to have any positive social value? To conduct this research, we relied on our clinical work with adolescents in school. We conducted, in a public school in São Paulo, conversational groups, whose inspiration we sought from theoretical and clinical psychoanalysis. We will present in this thesis, two case studies built from this conversational work. This thesis is arranged into four chapters. The first will deal with the construction of the adolescent and his entry into the social bond. But above all, it will deal with the difficulties in the context of the social bond, shall we say, an anomic social other. The third chapter of this thesis, brings a strong theoretical digression on the social bond in the works of Freud and Lacan. In Freud’s concept of the superego, we see that the continuation of man in the social compact will be maintained by way of guilt. In Lacan, from the transcendence of the concept of intersubjectivity, the psychoanalyst will outline a theory of social ties, from its mounting discourse. We can say that in Freud the social bond between the men is maintained due to feelings of guilt, while in Lacan, the glue is obedience, the first foundation of the social compact, structured from the speech of the Master. Finally, in the fourth chapter of this thesis , we affirm that something on the order of a short-circuit in the social compact and the emergence of the phenomenon of widespread violence, has been a consequence of a deregulation of the anomic socius. We have entered an era ruled by the discourse of capitalism, which will impose a movement from bonds structured by the triumph of guilt to those (mis)guided by the dominance of enjoyment. We will say that this scenario could be devastating to the adolescent subject, that one shall find some difficulties in the process of a subjetivization. In this context, where life is begun and ends in a death almost always anonymous, violence appears in the speech not only as a teenager given the fact of the quotidian, but as one of the manners in which the youth will find ways to construct his own image towards society. Violence will not only be an act, but form of speech, for a subject that can only be counted by means of an disqualified fiction, a violent history, where the subject is exiled and disappears

Having almost all of the general syndicate of wholesale meat trade archives at my disposal, I attempted to describe the enclosed world of the abattoirs, gathering inspiration from experience. The first part of the work is a brief history of the ancient Parisian abattoirs I then move on to the heart of the matter : "the wholesale selling of meat", I explain who la Villette's wholesale butchers were, their role in the meat sector, their mentality and their behaviour, attempting to reproduce the general atmosphere at la Villette by showing the corporation's concerns relating to all the major events shaping our country's history. My research spans the period from the birth of wholesale butchers around 1829 to the closure of the meat complex in march 1974. I wondered what would have happened hadn't the state decided to change the modernisation procedure at la Villette abattoirs into a vast undertaking comprising a prototype abattoir and a huge sale-room unparalleled in the world. Didn’t the authoritarian closure of the cattle market and the abattoir simply hasten the disappearance of a corporation already condemned by the large and sudden changes in 1970 (development of cooperative circuits, industrial slaughter and superlaket) which it wasn't ready for? I end study by attempting to answer this question

In this respect, i have analysed the acts and discourses of the hospital's protagonist::doctors, caregivers, patients and families. My goal was to question the basis of this institution to emphasize the fact that the hospital is the symptom of a society's modernity. My theoretical field is the freudian and lacanian psychoanalytic approach. This research stresses out the difficulties of a subject dealing with the hospital many discourses. Moreover, the managerial evolution of the hospital as an institution could be a strong indicator of a passage from one historical period to another. At last but not least, it seems to us that, epistemologically speaking, psychoanalysis could play a role as a field of ethics foe science. Psychoanalysis, as a theory and praxis revealing the strands of modernity's discourses must defend its own field of research against the proliferation of scientism and pseudo-scientific arguments and theories

Texto completo da fonteThis research is aiming at a definition of the concept of institutionnalization, the + moment; (hegel) outcoming of the opposition between the +instituted universal; and the +instituting particular ;. The +instituting moment; is based through a prophecy which has a relation of contradiction beeing principal in the eyes of the particular. The + moment; of the institutionnalization is the one when the principal contradiction for the particular becames secundary through realization or obsolescence of the prophecy. This definition needs the criticism of hegel's dialectic, such as marx has directed it, and needs also the criticism of the rigid dialectic of marxist posterity, reduced after the commune to the mere antagonistic categories (from which one of the two terms has to disapear). This definition is built up on previous and diverging definitions, from weber to lourau, and on the analysis of the commune. The manipulation used by hegel substituting the idea to the object in order to demonstrate the immanence of the monarchistic constitution, was demonstrated only to substitute an other idea. The proletariat, so declared as object and ultimate social class supposed to put an end to the class struggle, the commune making it an evidence. The educational determination has left behind the theoretical deficiencies that marx had no time to fill in and that lenine had defmetely hidden. Analysis shows the institutionnalization of the idea of proletariat, but also the function of the commune in the constitutionnalization of the third republic and lets us start a thinking about the subjects : + prophet;, + heir;, + anser; and + feeder ; of power, and about the use of the myth to maintain the power. This analysis pickpoints also the danger of an institutionnalization refusing to recognize itself through the self claiming ofo declared antagonism, leading to deny (suicides within sects) or destroy any kind of criticism, in a process so described as the p. P. P. Effect {petit pere des peuples) from the stahnist trials. The same danger is analysed at the light of a specific experience of struggle against illitaracy. Ln front of the emergent refusal of french school, the school system caught m its initial prophecy under the third republic, locks itself up in all tension places in a kind of safety syndrome, dangerous for the future

The fantasy is taken as the main line of the study which is made up of three parts: the fantasy's language-universe, the destructive fantasy universe, and the paradoxical fantasy. As a starting point, the language-universe presents a play on words (the game of phonology, the game of morphology and the tendency to neologism), the play on syntagm (the polysemy, the literal understanding and the repetition) and the play on paradigm (the substitution of words, the evolution of sentences and the transmatation of images). In the second part, the destructive fantasy universe is built on three evolutionary processes : the liberator humour the pleasing humour, the black humour and absurd humour), the corrosive irony (blasphemer, anarchist and antimilitarist), the arbitrary metamorphosis (objet=animal=man) the last part deals with the paradoxical fantasy universe: the negative pole ---pseudo-fantastic (illnesses as the seeds and death as the finality), the positive pole---pseudo-marvelous (poetry as the harmony among the senses of taste, smell, hearing and feel). Between these two poles is found the pataphysic represented by science-fiction and the music. At his premature departure, boris vian leaves us with an enigmatic smile

Consequently, the increase of doctors' power on the life of their patients has required the intervention of the criminal law into the medical sphere. Indeed, this intervention was essential in order to prevent the medical paternalism from becoming prejudicial to the respect of the right to life which is the mainstay of any society based on the respect of Human rights. The resort to the principle protecting human dignity will entitle to reconcile the different opposing interests. Not only does the protection of other people's life by the medical profession become a relative obligation instead of an absolute one, but the protection of an individual against himself will also tend to appear as a real right which can be opposable to the doctor

Texto completo da fonteThis thesis aims at analysing the extent to which the tendency to recognize the autonomy of the patient’s will influences the evolution of the doctor's role with respect to death. The author focuses on the traditional role assigned to the doctor to preserve life. This important power is composed of rights and duties. This power is founded not only upon body cares but also upon the implementation of public health policies. The author's various reflections leads him to examine the notion of medical act, the personality of the embryo, the definition of death or organ donation. The doctor has to preserve the life of his patient, as he engages his responsibility. He also has to respect his patient's death, refraining himself from any unreasonable obstination. This does not necessarily imply that the doctor must accept the patient's will to die. And yet, within the light of the evolution of the medical act, which is not solely therapeutic but can also be for comfort, we examine the opportunity of conferring to the doctor the right to take the patient's life. French law does not allow euthanasia or assisted suicide, even though the law tries to match the reality of euthanasia. From the experience of other countries, the author proposes to legislate upon euthanasia and assisted suicide. The idea is to make the autonomy of the patient prevail, but to keep it within the frame of the doctor’s power. Today's de facto situation appears indeed to be insufficient, both for the doctors and for the patients

In such a profoundly religious context, life and death concept becomes very complex as it encompasses various dimensions and areas of the existential and gives the symbol all its significance. In order to comprehend the mode of representation and the meaning of life and death symbols, we have chosen two frames of reference. The first one is concerned with socio-religious realities and includes the rituals along with some of their visual and auditive components; the second in about the natural environment, and analyses such elements as water, earth, wind etc. On the whole, through every dimension of his existence, man is at the core of the life and death phenomenon. But although the forces of death are constantly present in soyinka's drama, it is the notion of life which is the underlying reality in his literary universe

Texto completo da fonteThe thesis analyses Karl Popper's philosophical thinking, as seen from his position on, principally, the methodology of science and moral and political philosophy; it also seeks to highlight the tensions that shape this thinking, following the internal journey which, progressing from theory, to knowledge to a practical philosophy, leads to metaphysics. The method used consists of studying the thoughts of K. Popper in his internal evolution, tracing the different stages, the changing problems that emerge from this thought process, and of placing this within the context of Popper's often critical dialogue with various authors, primarily the members of the Vienna circle but also all those who helped him construct his ideas in the various fields he is concerned with. Two theses are put forward in this work. The first is that of a duality of the issues that form the basis of Popper's philosophical thought. Lts uniqueness lies in the way in which it seeks to link a theoretical approach to knowledge, inspired by Kant, insisting on the logical justification of knowledge, with a sharply different approach, closer to that of Duhem and de Mach, looking at knowledge as it develops, defining it on the basis of its practical and even biological purpose. This duality introduces a lasting tension into Popperian thought. The second thesis concerns the relationship between practical philosophy and the philosophy of knowledge. It is because in his practical philosophy Popper expounds an indeterminist view, which focuses on the implacability of the freedom, responsibility and creativity of the individual, that he has to revise the ideas expounded in his first works. These two aspects - the duality between the two component problems; the confrontation between practical and theoretical philosophy - explain why, from the fifties and sixties, Popperian thought sought to reconstruct its unity around a metaphysical concept which integrates knowledge and practical action into an evolutionist framework, that of life and the emergence of a world of values

At best, they frame its use, as international case law shows it. The recent developments of criminal international law permitted to let capital punishment out of the international jurisdictions' statutes. However, because of the fundamental principle of complementarity, States remain free to apply the death penalty for international crimes. International law concerning the death penalty then stagnates, since this penalty is not forbidden. At the same time, one can note significant changes in international law, that tend to outlaw the death penalty. If soft law texts, which are not binding, are the main illustration of these changes, they cannot be ignored. In addition, some States adopt abolition-oriented jurisdictional decisions, which constitute an international abolitionist practice. Yet, for the moment, there is no opinio juris that could prove the crystallization of a customary abolitionist rule. Only abolitionist protocols represent a step toward a general international rule of abolition, but they were not ratified by many States

According to the primitive history of humanity, man has first of all conquered his liberty through ancestral rites and through a bilief in various deities. This is the case of the kabiyes who gave a religious and spiritual meaning to man by basing themselves on his cosmological consubstantiality. According to this meaning, "the dialectic of living and perisching" lies within the fertile and thimeless circle of the generations in spite of the finiteness of the being : it is the evocation of a primitive ontology, the foundation of which rests on the negation of death itself, negation lying within the idea of the circle as the return schema and relating to the theory of metempsychosis. This, in schopenhauer, appears in the form of cosmological metaphysics founded on the law of immanence, a subconscious law of the universe which manifests itself particularly in man through egoistic desires and through a need for survival. According to this law, the need for survival, appropriate to all beings, is only a ruse of nature which, in order to prevail, deceives individuals by the conniving illusion of pleasure and satisfaction which places human "egoicity" in front of a real absence of an aim by eternally pushing man to persevere in his being, even in death

From the beginning of the 18th century and the foundation of the Academy of Sciences, scientifical legitimacy began to spread throughout the country. Being at first strictly managed by scientists from capitals, the work of researchers led in and on the province soon started to free itself from their direct influence, and by the beginning of the 20th century, provincial learned societies (making up the kraevedenie phenomenon) turned out to be major contributors of the russian scientific landscape. The aim of this work is not only to recount the history of russian learned societies, but also to give an exact representation of the livelihood and activities of such organizations. The case study of the Kostroma scientific society (1912-1929) and the biography of its main figure, Vasilij Ivanovic Smirnov, help us observe the life of a Russian learned society from the inside. This work also leaves a large place to the description and the analysis of the activities of the kraevedy, for whom local ethnography was a relevant field of research. By the end of the 1920s, known as the « golden age » of kraevedenie, learned sociability was of first importance in Russia’s cultural life ; at the turn of the 1930’s, however, regional studies were declared totally incompatible with the Stalinist system. Soon after its attacks against the main scientific organizations of the country, the State declared war to all the provincial learned societies. Texto completo da fonteMore than thirty years of intensive research, Physics of superconductivity in cooper oxides is still nowadays a big puzzle not resolved. These materials exhibit a complex phase diagrams where different orders coexist. Using electronic Raman scattering, we explored the normal state of Bi2Sr2CaCu208+Ô, where a mysterious phase sets in, namely the pseudogap. The pseudogap manifests itself as a partial loss of electronic states density at the Fermi level below a characteristic temperature T* which is higher than the critical temperature Tc. So far, it microscopic origin is still unidentified. In the aim to study the pseudogap, we carry out a fine tuned doping study (controlled by oxygen insertion only) in large range of doping level between p=0. 08 and p=0. 23. Therefore, we succeed to determine the end point of the pseudogap in the normal state at a critical doping pc=0. 22. On other hand, our Raman studies in the normal and superconducting states show an enhancement of the density of states at the Fermi level in the (0,u) and (11,0) of the Brillouin zone as the doping level increases. This corresponds to a topological change of the Fermi surface from hole-like to electron-like which occurs at p=0. 22. This Fermi surface topological change is known as a Lifshitz transition. Surprisingly, the collapse of the pseudogap coincides with a Lifshitz transition, which is observed in other materials as well. We demonstrate the interplay between the Lifshitz transition and the pseudogap collapse. Further, by exploring the superconducting state, we have found three distinct energy scales, each one corresponds to a specific region of the momentum space. Our measurements show that the doping evolution of the three energy scales is sensitive to the topological change of the Fermi surface and the presence of electronic orders. Finally, we have studied the vibrational modes of Bi2Sr2CaCu208,b and its evolution with doping. We detected a new vibrational modes which are sensitive to the Bi-0 plan cleavage, and other are sensitive to the presence of the electronic orders of the phased iag ram

However, except in a few "molecular domestication" events, they seem to maintain themselves in the genomes thanks to their own multiplication ability, and they are thus generally considered as "parasitic" DNA sequences. In the present work, we have investigated, through a simulation software, a population genetics model of a transposable element family. The different stages of the "life cycle" of the element have been studied, from the very first generations following its arrival in a new species, to its long-term co-evolution with the other elements and genes in the genome. The results presented here highlight the complexity of the evolution of these genomic parasites, and several realistic evolutionary scenarios can be proposed. In the most cases, a stable equilibrium state appears to be unlikely, and the invasion of a transposable elements family seems to be a dynamic process, depending not only on the features of the element, but also on the interactions existing between the host genome and its parasitic DNA sequences

The first chapter underlines the place of the problem of death in the analytic of Dasein, explaining the significance of the concept of Existenzial. The second chapter elucidates the conceptual relationship between the phenomenon of death and several essential dimensions of the fundamental ontology: totality, being-with, understanding, affectivity, discourse, truth, conscience, temporality and historicity. The third chapter depicts, on the one hand, the genesis of the problem of death in Heidegger’s writings before Being and time and, on the other hand, the evolution of this problematic after the turn of the 1930s. The fourth chapter contrasts the problem of death with Heidegger’s antivitalism, explained on three related levels: life, animal being, and body. Finally, the fifth chapter shows the critical reception of the Heideggerian problem of death in the context of the French contemporary phenomenology, more precisely in the works of Jean-Paul Sartre and Emmanuel Lévinas

These merchants will constitue some societies, often with money collected in their own families and will form an important and influent colonial group: the "groupe from bordeaux" will have as leaders "Maurel & Prom", "Deves & Chaumet", "Buhan & Teisseire". . . Around the year 1870 a second flood of merchants : Philip Delmas, "darling" Peyrissac, Elie Chavanel, Louis Vezia, came to Senegal and partly will contribute at the economical developpement of the french occidental coast of Africa. "Darling" Peyrissac son of a gendarme, born in a country called "Limousin" came, when he was only very young boy, very short of money, to Saint Louis for his own establishment in 1870. In 1908, "Darling" Peyrissac was able to find financial contributions in order to establish an corporation. He died in 1916. Afterwards, it happened success or misfortune to the society, after the first world war, the society began to enterprise different affairs and due to them was in a bad condition during the crisis following 1929. .
