PALIATIVE CARE IS AN IMPORTANT piece of the health care puzzle, one that is being utilized more frequently to provide excellent patient care throughout the life span. Although the need for palliative care services among the NICU patient population is often overlooked, this fragile patient population would at times greatly benefit from these services. It is vital that health care providers be aware of, knowledgeable about, and active in recognizing the need for palliative care referrals. This case study, from a nurse’s perspective, focuses on a patient diagnosed with trisomy 13 shortly after birth. It discusses the patient’s demographics and history, his disease/ diagnosis, and the nursing process surrounding the case, as well as the nurse-patient-family relationship and an evaluation of what was accomplished.

Resumo:

This study was inspired by two of the leading papers in the case study method: Eisenhardt (1991) and Dyer and Wilkins (1991). The work of those authors could be considered a benchmark for research based on a case study. Additionally, this research comes as a complement to re-categorize case study research design. After reviewing those papers, the authors identified certain misunderstandings relative to when a case study should be addressed as single or multiple case studies. This study reviewed both recent and ancient research papers that used the case study research design in their investigations based on this misunderstanding. Thus, the previously identified misinterpretation of case study categorization is the gap this study filled. For this study, the case study research design was to be re-categorized to understand which case study design suits which research study. Accordingly, based on the identified gap, the study used secondary data to re-categorize the case study research design through a literature review method. As a result, the study identified three case study categories: single setting case study with single sub-case, single setting case study with multiple sub-cases, and multiple case studies. Consequently, the result re-categorizes single case study design into single sub-case and multiple sub-cases. This study makes recommendations through the proposed approach that filled the gap identified in the case study design categorization. In terms of adding to knowledge, this study’s proposed approach will augment the optimal use of case study research design by management, economics, and other disciplines’ researchers in the future.

Internship training is the main need for every engineering student. The purpose of the internship training is to apply theoretical knowledge into practical work. The period of the training is 3 months. Internship training was given to me by ANANYA SHELTERS at KNG PUDHUR SITE, COIMBATORE. The construction has been constructed in the respective site where I had undergone my internship. The total area of the site is 1930 Sq.Ft. The plinth area of the structure is 2331 Sq.Ft. Chapter one is about the vision & mission statement, organization profile and service management. Chapter two is about the training experience and contains the project summary, duties involved, and problems encountered. Chapter three deals with the conclusion of the report. In spite of every care taken, it is possible that some errors might have been left unnoticed and the author welcomes constructive criticism for improving the report.

This paper is a case study about the devastation of Hurricane Ike striking Galveston and Sabine Pass on the Texas Gulf Coast. Authentic field research, historical analysis, informant accounts, and basic statistical analysis of simulated data were used as a methodology. Citations are given to news stories, maps, photographs, and videos showing the damage still remaining four years after the last hurricane. Professors can use this information to create student assignments in any of the following disciplines: business, environment/natural sciences, operations management, and computer science, engineering, as well as in insurance or emergency services training programs. The first section provides background for students (including numerous research questions), while the latter part contains suggested answers to selected problems. The learning objectives are: apply project management theory to create a risk management plan and a schedule for the mitigation steps when a hurricane is forecasted, and then perform sensitivity analysis of the probabilities using statistical techniques.

In my book Islam in Practice (1988), I showed the great variety of religious beliefs in Sisakht, a village of Luri-speaking tribal people in the province of Kohgiluye/Boir Ahmad in Iran.1 I gave one of the 21 men I presented, Mr. Husseinkhan Sayadi, the epithet ‘Deep Believer’ to reflect his firm belief in God and Shi’a traditions. We became close friends, and revisiting his life again 14 years after his death, I will continue to use his first name to reflect and honour our friendship.

The Brazilian National Biofuels Policy (RenovaBio) has as its main purpose to promote the growth of the biofuels chain in Brazil, from more efficient and sustainable production models, culminating in the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, as well as contributing to the fulfillment of the commitments assumed by the country at COP-21. RenovaCalc is a tool from RenovaBio that is capable of analyzing lifecycle inventory data of background processes, added to the technical parameters of agricultural and industrial production that is informed by the biofuel producer. The final product is given through an Energy-Environmental Efficiency Grade (NEEA). In this context, NEEA, together with raw material eligibility values, will serve as the basis for the calculation of decarbonization credits (CBios). Given this context, the present study sought to investigate three scenarios: S1: excluded agricultural phase; S2: 100% eligible soy combined with the use of beef tallow, and S3: production of biodiesel with 100% soybean oil. The study compared two biodiesel producing national industries to NEEA certified by the Brazilian National Office of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP). It can be concluded that NEEA does not have a direct influence on the quantity of CBios to be traded, that is, the highest ratio is given from the eligibility (%) of the raw material chosen for the production of the fuel. Thus, scenario 2, which relied on the use of waste, proved to be 10 times more profitable compared to the other scenarios, in both analyses, due to its high eligibility. However, in terms of NEEA, it was noted that the exclusion of the agricultural phase (scenario 1) was the one that was most efficient in terms of gCO2 eq./MJ. It is relevant to emphasize the importance of proper handling and practices that guarantee the traceability of the grain so that the eligibility indexes are optimized.

Abstract This case study of a public, multicampus college in New Hampshire contributes to the growing body of literature about the role of part-time or adjunct faculty in program assessment. The study takes a historical look at the college's progress in engaging its part-time faculty over a period of thirteen years via administrative and faculty leadership, course-embedded assessments, multidisciplinary scoring teams, and grant-funded resources. Emphasis is placed on initiatives that assess core competencies across the curriculum. Building on part-time faculty's commitment to their classrooms, systematic reflection on teaching and learning emerges as the most meaningful and, therefore, motivating reason for adjunct faculty to engage in program assessment.

The paper discusses the new aspects of services and product lifecycle management could bring to the manufacturing company presented in this paper as a case study. The paper starts with a literature review and continues on to the case study. In the discussion section the findings are presented, following a conclusion section, where plausible miniature scenarios for circling the problems found earlier are presented. The service orientation is discussed through product lifecycle management aspect. The main topics discuss about the practical problems that came forth during the research. Many of those could have been avoided if the possibility of service orientation had been taken into account earlier. Companies need to seek new ways for creating profit and differentiate among the competition. Differentiating through services is seen as a favorable decision, although the implementation might not be as straightforward. Adding services to a core product creates more opportunities for a customer, but also enhances the company´s position in the markets. The goal of this research is to give insight to the challenges that a modern manufacturing company faces when in transition. Practical problems, intra- and extra-company are presented with discussion, results and suggested outcome.
