Texto completo da fonteUtonomous navigation is one of the most challenging tasks for mobile robots. It requires the ability to localize itself or a target and to find the best path linking both positions avoiding obstacles. Towards this goal, robots build a map of the environment that models its geometry or topology. However building such a map in large scale environments is challenging due to the large amount of data to manage and localization could become intractable. Additionally, an ever changing environment leads to fast obsolescence of the map that becomes useless. As shown in this thesis, introducing semantics in those maps dramatically improves navigation performances of robots in realistic environments. Scene parsing allows to build extremely compact semantic models of the scene that are used for fast relocalization using a graph-matching approach. They are powerful tools to understand scene and they are used to extend the map beyond perceptual limits of the robot through reasoning. Statistical analysis of those models is used to build an embryo of common sens which allows to detect labeling errors and to update the map using algorithms designed to maintain a stable model of the world despite occlusions due to dynamic objects. Finally semantics is used to select the best route to a target position according to high level criteria instead of metrical constraints, allowing intelligent navigation

Texto completo da fonteAerial drones are essential in search and rescue missions as they provide fast reconnaissance of the mission area, such as a collapsed building. Creating a dense and metric 3D map in real-time is crucial to capture the structure of the environment and enable autonomous navigation. The recommended approach for this task is to use Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) from a monocular camera synchronized with an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). Current state-of-the-art algorithms maximize efficiency by triangulating a minimum number of points, resulting in a sparse 3D point cloud. Few works address monocular SLAM densification, typically by using deep neural networks to predict a dense depth map from a single image. Most are not metric or are too complex for use in embedded applications. In this thesis, we identify and evaluate a state of-the-art monocular SLAM baseline under challenging drone conditions. We present a practical pipeline for densifying monocular SLAM by applying monocular depth prediction to construct a dense and metric 3D voxel map. Using voxels allows the efficient construction and maintenance of the map through raycasting, and allows for volumetric multi-view fusion. Finally, we propose a scale recovery procedure that uses the sparse and metric depth estimates of SLAM to refine the predicted dense depth maps. Our approach has been evaluated on conventional benchmarks and shows promising results for practical applications

Texto completo da fonteThe spatial variability of the soil agronomic properties is tackled by the high resolution cartography of magnetic anomalies. This geophysical survey method was improved and tested on several sites in the western France marshlands. The implemented methodology allowed us to map, with a decimetric resolution, a signal with dynamics of a few nT. The surveys were performed on plots with various agricultural practices. It appeared that the texture of each map depends on the soil history (drains, tractor crossing). The contribution of the magnetic cartography in order to fully understand soils was then shown by the mineralogical interpretation of the magnetic anomalies. The surface signal depends on nature, contents and distribution of the ferromagnetic s. L. Phases. These parameters are microtracers of the soil properties (Eh, pH) which are modified by the agricultural activity (drainage, compaction)

Texto completo da fonteDW-MRI is a non-invasive way to study in vivo the structure of nerve fibers in the brain. In this thesis, fourth order tensors (T4) were used to model DW-MRI data. In addition, the problems of group comparison or individual against a normal group were discussed and solved using statistical analysis on T4s. The approaches use nonlinear dimensional reductions, assisted by non-Euclidean metrics for T4s. The statistics are calculated in the reduced space and allow us to quantify the dissimilarity between the group (or the individual) of interest and the reference group. The proposed approaches are applied to neuromyelitis optica and patients with locked in syndrome. The derived conclusions are consistent with the current medical knowledge
