ABSTRACT CAFE is a high-resolution spectrograph with high-precision radial velocity capabilities mounted at the 2.2 m telescope of Calar Alto Observatory. It suffered from strong degradation after 4 yr of operations and it has now been upgraded. The upgrades of the instrument (now named CAFE2) aimed at recovering the throughput and improving the stability due to the installation of a new grating, an active temperature control in the isolated coudé room, and a new scrambling system. In this paper, we present the results of the new commissioning of the instrument and a new pipeline (CAFExtractor) that provides the user with fully reduced data including radial velocity measurements of FGK dwarf stars. The commissioning results show a clear improvement in the instrument performance. The room temperature is now stabilized down to 5 mK during one night and below 50 mK over two months. CAFE2 now provides 3 m s−1 precision on the reference ThAr frames and the on-sky tests provide a radial velocity precision of 8 m s−1 during one night (for S/N > 50). The throughput of the instrument is now back to nominal values with an efficiency of around 15 per cent at 550 nm. The limiting magnitude of the instrument for a 1 h exposure and S/N = 20 is V = 15. With all these properties, CAFE enters into the small family of high-resolution spectrographs at 2–4 m telescopes capable of reaching radial velocity precisions below 10 m s−1.

Aims: Thai tea is known as Thai ice or "Cha-yen". Apart from Cha Yen or Ceylon other ingredients that may be added to Thai tea are orange water, star anise, sour seeds or red and yellow food coloring and sometimes there are also those who add spices. The purpose of this study is to design a green tea mocca flavor variant that consumers like and combine the green tea mocca flavor variant with seaweed toppings and to find out the proximates and food safety aspects (dyes) of contemporary ice drinks, namely green tea mocca. Place and Duration: This research was analyzed at the Makassar Health Laboratory Center from January, 5 to February, 5, 2023. Study Design: The study (proximate test) was processed descriptively where data was taken from 2 different cafes and then asked to make a taste whose composition and volume comparison had been determined by the researcher. While the sensory test uses an independent T-test. The research data were analysed using analysis of variance (SPSS version 20).Research parameters are color and nutritional value (rotein and fat) with treatment A1 : hot tea : sweetened condensed milk : Mocca = 50 ml : 12 ml : 15 grams, A2 : hot tea : sweetened condensed milk = 50 ml : 18 ml : 15 grams and A3 = hot tea : sweetened condensed milk : Mocca = 50 ml : 24 ml : 15 grams. Results: The research result of the addition of differenton sweetened condensed milk gave different proximate test result. The average protein and fat content was the A1 treatment = fat content 0.35% and protein content 0.70%, treatment A2 = fat content 0.36% and protein content 0.80% while A3 = fat content 0.36% and protein content 0.87%. While the sensory test the more sweetened condensed milk given the bitter taste of the mocca cafee the less the thai-tea drink. So that the higher the addition of sweetened condensed milk (A3=24 ml) the more the panelist liked it. Conclusion: The color combination of the two cafes that compose or design colors is very attractive (25 panelists). While the sensory test the more sweetened condensed milk given the bitter taste of the mocca cafee the less the thai-tea drink. So that the higher the addition of sweetened condensed milk (A3=24 ml) the more the panelist liked it. Proximate quality A3 = fat content 0.36% and protein content 0.87% Food safety analysis for color also gives safe results (qualitatively negative) and is allowed.

The cafe business in Busan exhibits an annual growth trend, driven by an improving economic level and an increasing demand. Trends and consumption patterns in the cafe industry are subject to various influencing factors, and the volatility has intensified, particularly due to unexpected societal changes such as COVID-19. This study aims to analyze and predict trends in Busan's cafe business by considering population trends, the number of COVID cases, and the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of Busan. In particular, according to customer usage patterns, we will classify cafes as in-store cafe and takeout cafe, and analyze trends and forecasts of the number of cafes in a multivariate time series. The data used in this paper is collected and utilized from public data, and the open source Python programming language is used for analysis. The Busan cafe commercial district analysis method uses regression analysis, SARIMAX (Seasonal AutoRegressive Integrated Moving Average with eXogenous), and VAR (Vector Autoregression). Through this, we understand how the two types of cafes are affected by environmental variables and compare the performance and prediction ability of each analysis method. The results derived from this are expected to provide useful insights into the future development direction and prediction of the local cafe commercial area.

This study investigates the sustainable values of cafes established using idle industrial facilities that are a part of the cultural heritage of South Korea in terms of the characteristics of the architectural space and consumers’ space utilization. Twenty regenerative cafes in five regions were selected, and five of them were analyzed by comparing their characteristics with those of the conventional cafes. Unlike conventional cafes, regenerative cafes have architectural spaces that seem to be non-everyday and elicit a feeling of the passage of time. Users utilized these cafes as spaces for activities and experiences for long periods compared to conventional cafes. Consequently, regenerative cafes were found to contain sustainable values as complex networking spaces, as cultural heritage that can be experienced and as independent tourist destinations. Regenerative cafes have become unique differentiated architectural spaces utilized by several users.

Purpose This study aims to determine the effects of wall covering materials (wood, concrete and metal) used indoors on participants’ perceptual evaluations. The differences among participants’ perceptual evaluations regarding indoor physical environmental factors by occupation and gender were examined. Design/methodology/approach Cafes were selected as research environments. Virtual experimental spaces using three different wall covering materials were modelled and participants’ assessment of the physical environmental factors of these virtual spaces was measured through a detailed questionnaire. Findings Cafes using light-coloured wall covering materials were perceived more favourably than cafes using dark-coloured wall covering materials, and cafes with light-coloured wooden wall coverings were considered as a warmer material than cafes using concrete and metal. Participants who received design education (architect, interior architect) perceived physical environmental factors of cafes more negatively than those who did not receive design education (lawyer, economist, accountant, etc.). Male participants evaluated the physical environmental factors of cafes more positively than female participants for all adjective pairs. Except for two adjective pairs, no significant difference was found among the evaluations according to genders for the other adjective pairs. Originality/value This study revealed new results about customers’ choices of wall covering materials and offered designers new alternatives for materials that can be used in the design of cafes.

Abstract Abstract 1356 Clofarabine(2-Chloro-9-(2-deoxy-2-fluoro-β-D-arabinofuranosyl)adenine,2-chloro-2'-arabino-fluoro-2'-deoxyadenosine, CAFdA) is a relatively new purine nucleoside analog. Upon administration, CAFdA is incorporated into leukemic cells by human Equilibrative Nucleoside Transporters (hENT) 1 and 2, and human Concentrative Nucleoside Transporter (hCNT) 3. Inside the cell, the agent is phosphorylated to CAFdA monophosphate by cytosolic deoxycytidine kinase (dCK) and mitochondrial deoxyguanosine kinase (dGK), and then to an intracellular active metabolite CAFdA triphosphate (CAFdATP). CAFdATP inhibits ribonucleotide reductase and is incorporated into DNA, thereby terminating DNA synthesis as an antimetabolite. Moreover, CAFdA induces apoptosis via direct mitochondrial damage. Clinical studies suggest that CAFdA is effective against both acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). CAFdA therapy should be optimized based on the mechanistic understanding, because pharmacological determinants that correlate to the drug sensitivity may predict clinical efficacy of CAFdA as biological surrogate markers. Here, we have established two novel leukemic cell line variants that were resistant to CAFdA, and elucidated the mechanism of the drug resistance. The study focused on factors that were involved in the intracellular CAFdATP production and in the induction of apoptosis. To develop resistant variants, HL-60 cells were treated with escalating concentrations of CAFdA with the initial concentration at 1/100 of the concentration that inhibited 50% cell growth. After 7 months of the repeated passage, one cell line resistant to CAFdA (HL/CAFdA20) was cloned by the limiting dilution method. A part of this clone was further maintained with the drug for the subsequent 4 months to develop another variant (HL/CAFdA80). The 2 variants were 20- and 80-fold more CAFdA-resistant than HL-60 cells, respectively. They were cross-resistant to similar nucleoside analogs such as cladribine, gemcitabine, and cytarabine. Compared with HL-60 cell line, mRNA levels of the transporters (hENT1, hENT2, hCNT3) and protein levels of kinases (dCK, dGK), and the subsequent production of intracellular CAFdATP were all reduced in both CAFdA-resistant variants. Real time RT-PCR demonstrated that mRNA levels of hENT1, hENT2, and hCNT3 were 53.9%, 41.8%, 18.3% in HL/CAFdA20 cells, and 30.8%, 41.6%, 31.5% in HL/CAFdA80 cells, respectively, compared to the parental cells. The values of the initial uptake of CAFdA into the cell at 40 seconds after administration of tritiated CAFdA are 0.2 pmol/107cells in HL/CAFdA20 cells, and 0.1 pmol/107cells in HL/CAFdA80 cells, compared with 0.6 pmol/107 cells in parental HL60 cells. Western blotting revealed that protein levels of kinases were also reduced in these resistant variants with the greater reduction in HL/CAFdA80 cells. The subsequent production of CAFdATP after 4-h incubation with 10 μM CAFdA was 20 pmpl/107 cells in HL/CAFdA20 cells, 3 pmol/107cells in HL/CAFdA80 cells, and 63 pmol/107cells in HL-60 cells. The decreased CAFdATP production led to the attenuated incorporation of the drug into both mitochondrial and nuclear DNA. Concerning apoptosis, antiapoptotic Bcl2 protein overexpressed in the 2 resistant variants. The two variants were resistant to mitochondria-related apoptosis induced by CAFdA, in part due to the enhanced Bcl2 expression. A Bcl2 inhibitor ABT737 synergized the cytotoxic effect and the growth inhibition effect of CAFdA in both variants and HL-60, but the synergism was more profound in the resistant cell lines. The Combination Index values were 0.27 in HL/CAFdA20 cells, and 0.21 in HL/CAFdA80 cells, compared with 0.63 in HL-60 cells. This suggested the contribution of the enhanced Bcl2 protein to the mechanism of drug resistance. In conclusion, the mechanism of cellular resistance to CAFdA in the 2 variants was multifactorial, but primarily includes the reduced CAFdATP production and the increased antiapoptotic factor. It is noted that the decreased dGK level and Bcl2 overexpression were not reported previously in the context of CAFdA resistance. We suggest combination of CAFdA and ABT737 might be effective to CAFdA resistant and refractory leukemia. OBJECTIVES/GOALS: To identify the role of sialoglycans in the mechanisms underlying cancer-associated fibroblast-derived exosomes (CAFEX) immuno-regulatory properties. The central hypothesis is that CAFEX manipulates the immune response to allow immunoevasion and glycomic approaches can identify the signaling factors involved. METHODS/STUDY POPULATION: Cancer associated fibroblasts (CAFs) were isolated from primary head and neck tumors, expanded, characterized and cryopreserved prior to experimentation and isolation of CAFEX. Sialoglycan expression was determined using lectin-specific staining of cells and bead-captured CAFEX in combination with flow cytometry analysis. Siglec expression and expression of M2-macrophage markers were also determined by flow cytometry analysis and cytokine bead arrays. Inhibition studies involved either the enzymatic removal of cell-surface sialoglycans or alternatively, a specific small molecule analog inhibitor of sialoglycan transferases. RESULTS/ANTICIPATED RESULTS: Both CAFs and CAFEX expressed abundant levels of cell-surface sialoglycans. CAFEX induced an M2-macrophage phenotype in primary monocytes, based on surface marker expression and cytokine secretion profiles. The induction of the M2 phenotype in macrophages was attenuated upon the removal of sialoglycans from the surface of CAFEX either by enzymatic removal or via a small molecule inhibitor. CAFEX were also able to directly bind members of the Siglec family, which are sialoglycan specific lectin receptors expressed on immune cells, including macrophages. DISCUSSION/SIGNIFICANCE: Collectively, these studies suggest that surface presentation of sialoglycans by CAFEX may induce an immunosuppressive phenotype in monocytes/macrophages. Consequently, this may be a novel mechanism by which cells within the tumor bed facilitate immunoevasion during tumor progression.

The aim of this study was to explore the relationship between positive emotions and the intention to continue using unmanned cafes, focusing on the characteristics experienced by consumers. To this end, a survey was conducted among individuals who have patronized unmanned cafes. A total of 203 responses were statistically analyzed using the SPSS 18.0 software. The findings revealed that: First, the ease of technology use, spatial arrangement and functionality, and payment convenience—all key features of unmanned cafes—significantly positively influence positive emotions. Second, positive emotions were found to significantly enhance the intention to continue usage. Third, the characteristics of unmanned cafes directly contributed to a positive continuous use intention. These results suggest that strategies to facilitate the easy use of unmanned system technology, improve spatial comfort and functionality, and enhance payment convenience are essential. Such strategies can elicit positive emotions, thereby fostering a continued desire to use unmanned cafes. Emphasizing the importance of convenience for consumers in using unmanned cafes is particularly crucial.

In this modern era, hanging out in cafes has become a common habit among teenagers, including those in Napa Village, Batang Toru District. Cafes have become a part of the community's life in the village, with many teenagers always hanging out in cafes. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach, using data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The informants in this study were 13 teenagers who consider cafes as their lifestyle. The results of this study show that cafes are now a solution for the needs of the community, especially for teenagers. They no longer feel satisfied with enjoying the living room or family lounge just to chat or discuss. Cafes are considered to provide more comfort and satisfaction, both physically and mentally, to fulfill their desires. The behavior of teenagers in Napa Village is categorized as a way of using money, goods, places, and time. The habit of hanging out in cafes is seen as a need to fill their free time for personal pleasure and as a way to show their social identity. In addition, the free time given by parents to their teenage children can influence them to become spendthrift, lazy, and prioritize playing in cafes instead of studying at home. The existence of Bagasta Cafe is seen as a place for hanging out that can show their existence and elevate their social status.

Food service industry is growing rapidly as a result of the changing consumer lifestyle. The food service industry is highly competitive due to the increasing number of new entrants offering inventive food products and services. In order to be outstanding in such competitive industry, retailers nowadays opt to emphasize on their store environment. Past studies discovered that store environment stimulates emotions that significantly boost customer revisit intention. As a result, retailers attempt to differentiate their store by combining various environmental stimuli to create an attractive ambience that will in turn draw in the customers. Hence, this study attempts to investigate the impact of various café ambience factors on the patrons’ revisit intention. The patrons of cafes in Ipoh, Perak were selected using purposive sampling technique to be the respondents of this study. 250 questionnaires were collected and Partial Least Square technique was used to analyse the data collected. Findings show that all the five factors of café ambience namely lighting, music, decoration, cleanliness and layouts were significantly influencing the patrons’ revisit intention. Of these five factors, lighting was most influential while music was the least influential in affecting the patrons’ revisit intention. Accordingly, this study lists several recommendations for practitioners and academics with regards to the store environment and its impact on the repurchase intention.

This study intends to discuss the direction of building a cultural navigation system that can enjoy cultural tourism contents by mixing navigation systems within the basic framework of maps. In particular, the goal is to trace the location of Gyeongseong's coffee shops and cafes appearing in modern literature, apply them to their current location, examine them in terms of cultural heritage, and further develop them into the field of cultural tourism content using them. Coffee shops and cafes are one of the most important items in examining the culture of modern Gyeongseong, and have been studied in various ways in modern literature and cultural history. The roles of coffee shops and cafes have changed somewhat in modern times, but writers and artists of modern Gyeongseong were enthusiastic about coffee shops and cafes, the symbols of modern culture at the time. Numerous coffee shops and cafes have been opened, and the writers have described them in various media or novels. In this study, the location of coffee shops and cafes that appeared in modern Gyeongseong is substituted into the current location, and through cultural navigation, the location of the past and present, information on coffee shops and cafes, and how the coffee shops or cafes are expressed in literature. By providing a system that researches and introduces information on whether or not information has been made, it is intended to examine the cultural meaning of the contemporary coffee shop and cafe culture, and to provide its cultural value by restoring it in the form of a digital map.

Accreditation suggests an organisation has met standards of quality through extensive self-study and external review. This study examines the influence of Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) accreditation on citizen complaints. We identified the accredited status of the agencies included in the 2007 LEMAS report as CALEA-accredited or non-accredited resulting in a final sample size for this study of 628 agencies (CALEA accredited = 314, non-accredited = 314). Findings suggest that no difference exists between CALEA-accredited agencies and non-accredited agencies in: (1) the total number of complaints received; (2) the number of sustained citizen complaints.

This study investigates the effects of rule of origin (ROOs) and tariff margin on China-ASEAN Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA) utilization. Using a sample of 40,474 product-level observations with China’s imports from ASEAN countries during the period 2015 to 2021 and adopting the Logit model estimation methods, we found that larger tariff margin positively affects the use of CAFTA, whereas, the rules of origin show a negative effect on the CAFTA utilization. In order to assess the specific impact of two effects, we also calculate the relative contribution of these two effects to the CAFTA utilization by ASEAN countries, and the results show that the rules of origin play a more important role on the CAFTA utilization by each ASEAN country. Moreover, based on heterogeneity analysis, we also find that ROOs play an important role in the use of FTA by lower middle-income countries and the tariff margin play an important role in the use of FTA by upper middle-income and high-income countries. Based on the above findings, the study proposes some policy recommendations on how to increase the CAFTA utilization by reducing the ROO costs and accelerating tariff reductions.

Abstract— A new species of Calea belonging to sect. Meyeria is described and named as an in memoriam tribute to Vicki Ann Funk (1947‐2019), who dedicated her career to plant systematics, specially focusing on the Compositae. Calea funkiana resembles Calea triantha, but is distinguished by the slightly branched habit, apically acute leaves, glabrous ray florets, and, mainly, the villose indumentum of stems, leaves, peduncle, and outer phyllaries. The new species is described and illustrated, its geographic distribution is mapped, and its taxonomic affinities are discussed. Additionally, a key for the species of Calea from Serra do Cipó, Minas Gerais, Southeastern Brazil, is provided.

The abandonment of urban built heritage has recently become an acute phenomenon that parasites important historical areas within European cities and Bucharest is no exception. Against the backdrop of political reformations and nuances, the gradual reduction of economic activity, the closure of many local services or commercial units, and the disappearance of former landmarks in the centre of the historic city, led to a visible economic and social vacuum, a generator of stagnation and ruin. At the same time, more seriously, a certain identity of the place was lost all along with the disappearance of some aspects of daily use, urban elements generating social interaction and communication, testimonies of a way of life that generated them. In time, the gradual loss of landmarks and meaningful spaces accentuates the dysfunctionality and the phenomena linked to a precarious economic background. The reactivation of such zones and finding appropriate viable – functional solutions of urban planning – reconnecting the local community with a highly valuable construction fund is, perhaps, one of the most important challenges of our times.

CAFTA (China-ASEAN Free Trade Area) has a strong promotion effect on FDI after its formal establishment, including both indirect effects due to trade liberalization and direct effects through investment and investment facilitation. This paper uses World Bank data from 2000-2019 for a quasi-natural experiment established by CAFTA using double differencing and concludes that CAFTA has a significant enhancing effect on FDI, and that the level of economic development, the rate of development, and the degree of trade liberalization of each member country within its free trade area have a significant impact on FDI. Meanwhile, this paper uses heterogeneity test to show that the establishment of CAFTA in countries with clean government and high education level is conducive to the increase of FDI. Countries with low contracting efficiency and high tax share will further improve the system due to the establishment of CAFTA, which is conducive to the further development of FDI.

First, the research results measured the biofilic design characteristics applied to bakery cafes with eco-friendly design concepts in three aspects: direct experience of nature, indirect experience of nature, and experience of space and place, and the cafe subject to the entire case was divided into single, combination, and separate. Second, the application effect of biophilic design in bakery cafes showed functional effects through natural light, plant, and water elements, aesthetic effects through interior space finish, and furniture material and color elements, external view, resting place, and place attachment elements. Since the characteristics of biofilic design applied to bakery cafes can expand the cafe's place role as a discriminatory strategy and positively affect customers' visit purpose, preference, and satisfaction, it will provide effective guidelines and data to develop the concept of bakery cafes with various differentiation strategies.

Tyleropappus was described in 1931 by Greenman and is characterized by its spiral, alternate leaves and epaleaceous receptacle. Throughout its taxonomic history, the genus was placed into the tribes Helenieae and Neurolaeneae, often treated as the sister genus of Geissopappus, which is currently a synonym of Calea. Later, Tyleropappus was synonymized with Calea; however, when its synonymization was proposed, the sole species in the genus, T. dichotomus, had not been synonymized under a previously described species nor properly transferred to Calea. Ongoing taxonomic studies in Neurolaeneae have provided opportunities to clarify the challenging taxonomic history of this monotypic genus. We confirm the synonymy of Tyleropappus in Calea; however, we recognize T. dichotomus as a distinct species that should be accepted in Calea. Nonetheless, the name C. dichotoma already exists, and is a synonym of C. ternifolia. Therefore, we propose the new name C. spiralis to accommodate this species, which is morphologically similar to C. linearifolia. The former can be distinguished from the latter by the spiral, alternate (vs. decussate) arrangement of leaves, receptacle epaleaceous (vs. oligopaleaceous) and cypselae hirsute (vs. glabrous). We also provide a detailed description of the species, the first map of its geographic occurrence, an illustration with diagnostic characters, and the first taxonomic key for the Nana clade of Calea.

Purpose - The purpose of this study was to investigate the perception of 'unmanned cafes' on the network through big data analysis, and to identify the latest trends in rapidly changing consumer perception. Based on this, I would like to suggest that it can be used as basic data for the revitalization of unmanned cafes and differentiated marketing strategies. Design/methodology/approach - This study collected documents containing unmanned cafe keywords for about three years, and the data collected using text mining techniques were analyzed using methods such as keyword frequency analysis, centrality analysis, and keyword network analysis. Findings - First, the top 10 words with a high frequency of appearance were identified in the order of unmanned cafes, unmanned cafes, start-up, operation, coffee, time, coffee machine, franchise, and robot cafes. Second, visualization of the semantic network confirmed that the key keyword “unmanned cafe” was at the center of the keyword cluster. Research implications or Originality - Using big data to collect and analyze keywords with high web visibility, we tried to identify new issues or trends in unmanned cafe recognition, which consists of keywords related to start-ups, mainly deals with topics related to start-ups when unmanned cafes are mentioned on the network.

Online shopping has eliminated the need to visit physical commercial centres. As a result, trips to these centres have shifted from primarily shopping-motives to leisure, companionship, and dining. The shifting in consumer behaviour is implicated in the growing spatial agglomeration of restaurants/cafes within commercial centres in European cities. Conversely, in southern cities, various casual restaurants/cafes also serve as leisure and companionship hubs. However, their spatial patterns are less explained. This article aims to elucidate the spatial pattern of these diverse restaurants/cafes in a typical southern city, Surabaya City. In this study, we employ the term ‘food services’ to encompass the various types of restaurants/cafes found in southern cities. We gather Points of Interest (POIs) data about food services via web scraping on Google Maps, then map out their spatial distribution across 116 spatial units of Surabaya City. Utilising k-means cluster analysis, we classify these 116 spatial units into six distinct clusters based on the composition of food service variants. Our findings show that City Centres and Sub-City Centres are locations for different types of restaurants/cafes. The City Centre is typically a location for fine dining restaurants and cafes, whereas Sub-City Centres are locations for fast casual dining and fast food restaurants. Cafes and fast food restaurants are centralised throughout downtown areas. Casual food service restaurants, such as casual style dining, coffee shops, and food stalls, are dispersed along business, residential zones, and periphery areas without intense domination of any specific variant.

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is focusing attention on fuel economy rules for light trucks. Some suggestions for reforms to certain CAFE standards have been published by the National Academy of Sciences in January 2002 in a report that examined the effectiveness of CAFE. The report suggests revising the structure of the light truck standards to reduce incentives to lower vehicle weight, because of the argument that weight increases safety. NHTSA is currently soliciting public comment for its possible CAFE reforms. The agency has not come up with definite targets for reform. It has stated some possibilities, including those in the National Academy of Sciences report, but is open to suggestions at this point. The National Academy of Sciences report analyzed the cost-effectiveness of the application of existing technology on various classes of cars and light trucks. The bottom line of the analysis is that proven technology can cost-effectively improve fuel efficiency, with light trucks showing the biggest opportunity for improvement.

An intelligent system is a central part of the smart building that enhances adaptable reuse in an existing building. Many researchers agreed on a set of benefits of intelligent buildings, including reducing energy consumption, improving construction efficiency, predictive maintenance, increasing user productivity, better use of resources, and protecting and maintaining security and integrity, in addition to indoor comfort. This study investigates the impact of intelligent systems on the adaptive reuse of traditional cafes in Erbil, Iraq. This is achieved by answering the two research questions: • Are the changes of traditional cafes in line with the needs of today’s customers? • To what extent can an intelligent system enhance traditional cafés in Erbil related to current and future users? Therefore, the main objective of this research was to examine the level of adaptive reuse in traditional cafes in Erbil. To enhance the existing level of adaptation reuse by an intelligent system. An inductive and qualitative research approach was adopted to achieve the defined aim of this research. These methods include an overview of the literature on traditional architecture, adaptive reuse, and intelligent buildings; the data were collected through a physical survey and observation of traditional cafes and interviews with the owners, servers, and visitors in the buffer zone of Erbil Citadel. The key findings: Through this study, we found that the traditional cafes had new themes. The first was spiritual identity through (a) a passive system and (b) spatial aesthetics. Second, there is a need for a new system. The research concluded that adding intelligent systems to traditional cafes through sensors to existing devices makes them intelligent and links them together wirelessly to provide the integration that is the basis of intelligent buildings, in other words, trying to reuse existing devices adaptively. And that traditional cafes deserve to be adaptive and reused continuously and periodically every five years. This will help users to improve the performance of conventional cafes in Erbil.

Basically the naming of cafes and culinary in this area uses the names of people, names of plants, describes the comfort of a place, and uses Arabic terms. However, since 2018 the naming of cafes and culinary delights has instead used terms that are unusual and tend to be scary, such as Mie Hell, Mie Power Hell, Mie Lightning, Mie Judes Neraka and the like. It turns out that these cafes and culinary delights are in demand by young people, so they are booming. This gives the impression that hell and lightning becomes the menu of food consumed. However, the behavior of traders has been regulated in Islam which is summarized in Islamic business ethics which includes monotheism, justice, balance, responsibility and freedom.Design/Method/Approach: This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive analysis approach. This method is used to describe the shift in the marketing strategy of cafes and culinary that has a negative nuance in West Sumatra. The data sources come from culinary producers, consumers, and the management of the MUI West Sumatra. Data processing is done by code data, tell data, identify data and generalize data. All data obtained by using triangulation with data sources. The next step is to analyze the naming of cafes and culinary that are not common in West Sumatra by using the theory of Islamic business ethics and the results of the West Sumatra MUI Coordination Meeting, so as to obtain conclusions.Findings: First, the factors that cause West Sumatran cafe and culinary owners to choose unusual names are: 1. Showing product characteristics, spicy flavors are displayed with scary and unusual names; 2. Tight business competition triggers culinary owners to be creative by giving unique and unusual names; 3. Unique and unusual names in cafes and culinary delights make consumers curious, then visit and buy their products. Second, the perception of consumers and the people of West Sumatra on the unusual naming of cafes and culinary delights can be divided into 3, namely agree, disagree, disagree and uncomfortable with the unusual naming of cafes and culinary, and the name must be exchanged with another name that is more Third, a review of Islamic business ethics on naming cafes and culinary delights that choose names that are not common in West Sumatra can be divided into 2 groups: 1) The terms used are clearly contrary to the Shari'ah, namely hell, devil, devil, dajal; 2) Naming cafes and restaurants that use names related to ethical violations such as: Mie Padeh Maut, Mie Baro, Mie Caruik, Bakso Pentol Maut, Mie Pedas Maut, Spicy Sopan'Stek, Mie Padeh Gilo, Mie Pelakor, Mie Padeh Gilo, Mie Judes, Lightning Noodles, and the like. Mie Tapakiek, and the like.
