Candi Bahal is one of the Vajrayana Buddhist temples located in Bahal Village, Padang Bolak District, Padang Lawas Regency, North Sumatra. Candi Bahal was founded by Rajendra Cola I from Tamil India which is estimated to be thousands of years old at that time. The uniqueness of Candi Bahal is the shape of the Candi Bahal roof which is about 2.5 m high, like a cake on a square saucer with flower carvings around the edge of the Temple roof. Candi Bahal was created as a motif on men's shirts. The process of creating this work uses a theoretical basis which includes form, function, motif, color, aesthetics and creation. The method used in the embodiment of the work starts from exploring data collection about the Candi Bahal such as searching for library sources or looking directly at it. Designing is putting ideas into design that will be realized. The embodiment stage is the process of realizing the work that was previously designed, using the main ingredients of primisisma cotton and remazol dyes and using written batik techniques and sewing techniques. The work created is a shirt with size L. In the creation of this work, the Candi Bahal motif was made by adding isen-isen and creating the size of the temple and adding additional motifs such as bricks, reliefs, makara and gecko motifs. The creation of this work uses the colors red, green, black, white and golden yellow. The presentation of the work will be carried out in the form of displays and fashion shows. The results of the creation of this work are three shirts with the titles merangkul, keberanian, keindahan.

<p class="Default">Sebagian besar dari anak-anak menganggap bahwa matematika merupakan suatu hal yang abstrak tidak banyak digunakan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Anak-anak di desa Bahal belajar matematika hanya menggunakan sumber buku, tidak menyadari bahwa matematika dapat dipelajari dengan memanfaatkan apa yang tersedia dilingkungan, seperti halnya Candi. Etnomatematika merupakan suatu pembelajaran yang mengantarkan anak-anak untuk lebih memahami materi matematika. Belajar matematika dengan memanfaatkan Candi Bahal yang merupakan salah satu bagian dari etnomatematika. Berdasarkan ini dilakukan pengabdian kepada masyarakat belajar matematika untuk membantu guru dalam memahami dari etnomatematika dan membantu anak-anak dalam pembelajaran matematika berbasis etnomatematika. Metode pengabdian menggunakan penelitian <em>participatory action research </em>(PAR). Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan pendampingan terhadap guru SD Negeri 101660 Bahal dan anak-anak di desa Bahal memberikan hasil yang baik. Dengan perubahan pengetahuan dan pemahaman guru terhadap etnomatematika. Dapat membantu anak-anak dalam belajar persegi Panjang, busur sangkar dan balok. Dari pengalaman anak-anak dalam belajar matematika berbasis etnomatematika menumbuhkan cinta anak-anak terhadap matematika.</p>

Situs percandian Bahal di Padang Lawas Utara yang terdiri dari tiga kompleks yang berdekatan memberikan gambaran pola tata spasial yang terkait dengan lingkungannya. Masing-masing kompleks percandian memiliki tata spasial yang berbeda karena jumlah massa yang berbeda. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengkaji tata spasial kompleks percandian Bahal I, II dan III serta menganalisis keterkaitannya dengan karakteristik candi. Penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus digunakan melalui kegiatan observasi, pengukuran, penggambaran dan wawancara di lapangan. Layout candi Bahal I, II dan III membentuk konfigurasi massa dan spasial yang jelas. Ketiga kompleks percandian tersebut menunjukkan axis yang kuat serta hierarkhi yang jelas berdasarkan pada jumlah massa candi Perwara dan dimensi candi utama. Axis yang terbentuk dari pola tata spasial telah mempertegas candi sebagai bangunan suci yang memiliki formalitas dan keseimbangan yang sangat kuat.

ABSTRACTIn general, corn plants are only used for seeds, other parts such as cobs and skins, are given for animal feed, burned, or even thrown away which causes pollution. The same thing also happened in Bahal Gajah Village, Kec. Sidamanik kab. Most of the people in Simalungun make a living as corn farmers, so there is quite a lot of corn husk waste in the village. Corn husk which has a texture that is strong enough, durable, economical, and also unique can be used as raw material to be created as a work of art such as decoration. decorative walls and flowers. So that the people in Bahal Gajah village need guidance to reduce waste to be used as wall decorations and also ornamental flowers. Simalungun sebagian besar masyarakatnya bermata pencaharian sebagai petani jagung, jadi limbah kulit jagung di desa tersebut cukup banyak.kulit jagung yang memiliki tekstur yang cukup kuat, awet, ekonomis ,dan juga bersifat unik dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan baku untuk dikreasikan sebagai sebuah karya seni seperti hiasan dinding dan bunga hias.maka masyarakat didesa bahal gajah tersebut memerlukan bimbingan untuk mengurangi limbah tersebut untuk dijadikan sebagai hiasan dinding dan juga bunga hias.Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini berupa demontrasi dan praktek langsung yang pada umumnya kaum generasi milenial ini memiliki karakteristik yang cepat tanggap dan memiliki ide-ide cemerlang dan sifat kreativitas kaum milenial pada umumnya yang tinggi oleh sebab itu harapan dari dilakukan nya pelatihan ini agar membuka wawasan dan minat baru yang dihasilkan dari limbah kulit jagung yang memiliki nilai jual dan selalu berlanjut dan berkembang agar pencemaran limbah berkurang dan membantu pendapatan di desa Bahal gajah ini. ABSTRAKProduk Usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah yang dihasilkan oleh masyarakat di Desa Bahal Gajah salah satunya adalah membuat produk hiasan dinding dan bunga yang terbuat dari limbah kulit jagung yang dilakukan oleh para pemuda – pemudi dimana salah satu sektor penghasilan terbesar di Desa Bahal Gajah adalah bertani jagung. Banyak kendala yang dihadapi terutama dalam hal pemasaran produk Usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah sehingga masih kurang maksimal dalam hal penjualan, mereka biasanya hanya menjual produknya di pasar dengan membuka lapak. Strategi pemasaran yang dijadikan solusi adalah dengan memanfaatkan teknologi yang akan menjadi kekuatan dalam pemasaran produk yang dihasilkan. Oleh sebab itu kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan media sosial instagram untuk pemasaran. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini berupa demonstrasi dan praktek langsung. Harapan dari dilakukan nya kegiatan ini dapat merubah wawasan pemuda - pemudi agar dapat melakukan pemasaran melalui media sosial instagram. Kata kunci: pemanfaatan teknologi; media social; pendampingan. ABSTRACTOne of the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises products produced by the community in Bahal Gajah village is making wall and flower decoration products made from corn husk waste which is carried out by young people where one of the biggest income sectors in Bahal Gajah village is corn farming. Many obstacles are faced, especially in terms of marketing pro Micro Small and Medium Enterprises pducts so that they are still not optimal in terms of sales, they usually only sell their products in the market by opening stalls. The marketing strategy used as a solution is to utilize technology that will be a strength in marketing the resulting product. Therefore, this service activity aims to utilize Instagram social media for marketing. The method used in this service activity is in the form of demonstration and direct practice. It is hoped that this activity can change the insight of young people so that they can do marketing through social media Instagram. Keywords: technology utilization; social media; accompaniment.

The new variety of Mentha arvensis named as ‘CIM-Vishisht’ was developed through half sib progeny selection of the menthol mint cultivar, ‘Shivalik’. The new variety has the potential of yielding 60 Kg/ha of essential oil which is rich in pulegone (65–68%) and the character is found stable over generations. The plant morphology of this new variety is distinct with medium height, smaller pale green leaves and white flowers, the growth habit is decumbent and has distinct DNA marker profile. This new variety ‘CIM-Vishisht’ will help opening new avenues for essential oil industry in the country.

An improved variety of menthol mint (Mentha arvensis), christen as “CIM-Kranti”, has been developed through half-sib progeny selection from the parent variety ‘cv. Gomti’. The new variety is cold and frost tolerant and has the potential to produce higher oil (10-12%) in summer cropping season when compared to all other popular commercial cultivars of menthol mint. More importantly, during winter season (September – January) also when all other mint varieties suffer senescence due to cold and frost conditions, ‘CIM-Kranti remains green in the field and grows vigorously to yield two to three times more essential oil and (100 kg/ha) along with sucker production (250-300 q/ha). This plant is distinct in terms of leaf morphology and DNA profile and can be propagated vegetatively to maintain uniformity. Hence, this newly developed variety is suitable for commercial cultivation of menthol mint to generate additional income to farmers without any additional input for cultivation during winter besides its usual cultivation as a summer crop.

Cooperation between the Bahá’í communities of Iran and North America in spiritual and social fields goes back to the early years of this century. Initially, renowned Bahá’í teachers such as Abu’l-Fadl1 were sent by ‘Abdu’l-Bahá to the United States to teach the Bahá’í Faith and to expand the new believers’ understanding of its tenets. Later, ‘Abdu’l-Bahá and Shoghi Effendi appealed to American Bahá’ís and encouraged them to respond to the social needs of their coreligionists in Iran. This article examines the American Bahá’í women’s response and the significant contribution they made in developing the Iranian Bahá’í community.

This paper considers the problem of estimating the population mean Y of the study variate y using information on auxiliary variate x. We have suggested a generalized version of Bahl and Tuteja (1991) estimator and its properties are studied. It is found that asymptotic optimum estimator (AOE) in the proposed generalized version of Bahl and Tuteja (1991) estimator is biased. In some applications, biasedness of an estimator is disadvantageous. So applying the procedure of Singh and Singh (1993) we derived an almost unbiased version of AOE. A numerical illustration is given in the support of the present study.

The discipleship of the young American Laura Clifford Barney to ‘Abdu’l-Bahá in the early 1900s resulted in a flow of spiritual teachings from East to West. After several years of intense engagement with her teacher in Palestine, Barney sought to disseminate in her Western homelands what she had learned. Her private and public writings demonstrate how she employed ‘Abdu’l-Bahá’s teachings in her efforts to influence social discourse by promoting the Bahá’í Faith in Europe and the United States. Examining these teachings and Barney’s applications thereof in her rhetoric allows us to witness how a transnationalchannel of theological knowledge developed.

“El bienestar de la humanidad, su paz y seguridad son inalcanzables, a menos que su unidad sea firmemente establecida”2, es el principio fundamental que mueve a los bahá‟ís en el mundo. Bahá‟u‟lláh, el Fundador de la Fe Bahá‟í, dijo que para alcanzar la unidad mundial es necesario que la humanidad reconozca que hay un solo Dios, es decir, que todas las religiones vienen de una misma fuente divina. Otros principios necesarios son la igualdad entre el hombre y la mujer, la eliminación de todas las formas de prejuicio, la armonía entre la ciencia y la religión, la necesidad de la educación para todos y la eliminación de los extremos de riqueza y pobreza. El diálogo interreligioso crea un ambiente que permite explorar cómo la religión puede ser una fuerza de cohesión, de unidad en la sociedad y como un sistema de conocimiento, que junto con la ciencia, promueve el desarrollo de las civilizaciones. Desde esta perspectiva, la religión a través de las diferentes épocas que ha vivido la humanidad, ya sea en los tiempos de Krishna, de Moisés, de Jesús, de Buda, de Mahoma o más recientemente de Bahá‟u‟lláh, la ha ayudado a refinar su capacidad para alcanzar el bienestar espiritual a la vez que logra el progreso social. Así, bajo esta perspectiva de unidad que impulsa la Fe Bahá‟í, en el diálogo interreligioso se puede mirar al otro abrigando la esperanza de ver a “la raza humana como una sola alma y un solo cuerpo, a la humanidad como una sola familia, y a la humanidad como frutos de un solo árbol y las hojas de una sola rama”3. En este documento se analiza el concepto de unidad como base para dicho diálogo y para la contribución de la religión en la sociedad. Además, se presentan brevemente tres elementos que llevan el concepto de unidad a la práctica: la igualdad entre el hombre y la mujer, la armonía entre ciencia y religión, y la consulta. Se concluye con una corta descripción de un caso en el que se pone en acción el diálogo interreligioso para crear un código de ética, capaz de realzar una cultura de paz y aceptación a la vez que promueve el bien común en nuestra sociedad.

Sejumlah arca penjaga baik utuh maupun fragmentaris merupakan bagian dari banyak peninggalan periode klasik di Padang Lawas. Sejumlah objek arca penjaga yang ditemukan di area ini diketahui diwujudkan mengenakan jenis pakaian dengan motif yang beragam. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi variasi motif pakaian arca-arca penjaga dari Kompleks Kepurbakalaan Padang Lawas. Metode penelitian yang diterapkan adalah metode kualitatif yang digabungkan dengan studi komparasi terhadap busana arca sejenis dan motif tekstil lokal Sumatra Utara. Lokasi pengumpulan data penelitian merupakan lokasi asal dari ditemukannya arca-arca penjaga yang tersebar di Situs Bahal, Candi Sitopayan, dan Candi Sipamutung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan motif busana arca penjaga dari Padang Lawas lebih beragam dari arca sejenis dari wilayah lain di Sumatra dan Jawa. Busana arca penjaga dikelompokkan menjadi tiga jenis motif, motif busana A dan B terdapat di Kompleks Bahal dan Candi Sitopayan, dan motif busana C terdapat pada busana arca penjaga dari Candi Sipamutung. Berdasarkan analisis komparasi yang dilakukan terdapat kemiripan busana arca penjaga dari Padang Lawas dengan motif tekstil dari India dan Jawa serta motif dasar ulos dari Sumatra Utara khususnya Batak Angkola-Mandailing. Both intact and fragmentary, guardian statues are part of the many relics from the classical period in Padang Lawas. The guardian statues in this area are depicted wearing various types of clothing with diverse motifs. This research aims to identify variations in the clothing motifs of guardian statues from the Padang Lawas Temple Compounds. The research method applied is a qualitative method combined with a comparative study of similar sculpture clothing and local textile motifs of Sumatra Utara. The location of research data collection is the origin of the discovery of guardian statues scattered at the Bahal Site, Sitopayan Temple, and Sipamutung Temple. The research results showed that the clothing motifs of the guardian statues from Padang Lawas were more diverse than similar statues from other regions in Sumatra and Java. The clothing of the guardian statues is grouped into three motifs: A and B motifs from the Bahal Site and the Sitopayan Temple, and the C clothing motifs are shown on the clothing of guardian statues from the Sipamutung Temple. Based on the comparative analysis, there are similarities in the clothing of the guardian statues from Padang Lawas with textile motifs from India and Java and the basic motifs of ulos from Sumatra Utara, especially the Angkola-Mandailing Batak.

The origins of the Bahá’í concept of the equality of women and men lie in the writings of Bahá’u’lláh. ‘Abdu’l-Bahá developed it further, first in his correspondence with western Bahá’ís and later during his travels in Europe and North America as he spoke to audiences about the social teachings of the Bahá’í Faith. While he was in London in September 1911, he met with suffragettes, among others. On one occasion he asked one visitor why she thought women should have the vote. Her response included a metaphor of humanity being a bird with two wings, male and female, both of which are required if the bird is to fly. ‘Abdu’l-Bahá incorporated this metaphor into his talks in the West and eventually into his writings and it has become an enduring description of gender equality found in many documents.This essay explores how the concepts of the equality of women and men, the rights of women and the advancement of women have been articulated over time in the talks and writings of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, the works of Shoghi Effendi, the writings of the Universal House of Justice and the statements of the Bahá’í International Community. It also considers how these concepts have been applied and developed by individual Bahá’ís and their families, within the Bahá’í community and in its institutions, and how this experience is being shared in public discourse.

Badan permusyawaratan desa merupakan lembaga baru di desa setelah otonomi daerah Indonesia. Wewenang badan permusyawaratan desa antara lain : membahas rancangan peraturan desa bersama kepala desa, melaksanakan pengawasan terhadap pelaksanaan peraturan desa dan peraturan kepala desa, mengusulkan pengangkatan dan pemberhentian kepala desa, membentuk panitia pemilihan kepala desa, menggali, menampung, menghimpun, merumuskan dan menyalurkan aspirasi masyarakat. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode yuridis empiris yaitu penelitian secara langsung. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi dan wawancara dengan dilengkapi angket agar data yang diperoleh lebih akurat. Populasi dan sampel dalam penelitian ini satu yakni ketua badan permusyawaratan desa, anggota badan permusyawaratan desa dan kepala desa, Desa Bahal Batu Kecamatan Barumun Tengah Kabupaten Padang Lawas. Analisa data dalam penelitian ini bersifat diskriptif analisis kualitatif, yaitu peneliti berusaha menggambarkan gejala sosial dengan undang-undang. Dimana ketentuan perundang-undangan dihubungkan dengan efekvitas Fungsi Badan Permusyawaratan Desa dalam membentuk pemerintahan yang baik. Untuk pengambilan kesimpulan penelitian ini metode pendekatan kualitatif dengan pola pikir deduktif untuk mendapatkan gambaran Efektivitas Penerapan Permendagri No.110 Tahun 2016 Tentang Fungsi Badan Permusyawaratan Desa di Desa Bahal Batu Kecamatan Barumun Tengah Kabupaten Padang Lawas.

Bahá’ís the world over view ‘Abdu’l-Bahá not only as the Centre of Bahá’u’lláh’s Covenant but as the Exemplar of how we should live. However, although the images and stories of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá that come to mind for many of us are from the period of His life after His release from prison at the age of sixty-five, we don’t often think about Him as an old man. This article summarizes the nature and impact of ageism and how we learn to be old by the way people treat us. It explores how ‘Abdu’l-Bahá’s example informs our own lives given the prevalence of ageism in Western society. This paper is a slightly edited version of a presentation offered at the 2021 Annual Conference of the Association for Bahá’í Studies.

When Mírzá Husayn ‘Ali (1817-92)—the founder of the Bahá’í Faith who was known as Bahá’u’lláh (the “Glory of God”)—died, there was a clear and unambiguous answer about who had the authority to lead his small, but growing, religious community. In his will, Bahá’u’lláh identified his eldest son, ‘Abbás Effendi, known as ‘Abdu'l-Bahá (“Servant of Bahá”) (1844-1921) as his successor and head of the community, as well as the authoritative interpreter of Bahá’u’lláh's writings. When ‘Abdu’l-Bahá assumed the reins of community leadership upon Bahá’u’lláh's death, his claim to authority went largely unchallenged, and he remained in that role until his own death.While this seeming affirmation of a principle of primogeniture would appear to establish a clear pattern for the future organization and structure of the Bahá’í community, it was only one part of the leadership of the community envisioned by Bahá’u’lláh. Equally unambiguous was Bahá’u’lláh's vision of “houses of justice” existing throughout the world, elected bodies that would serve governance functions. In the Kitáb-i-Aqdas (the “Most Holy Book”), written by Bahá’u’lláh in 1873, he states that “[t]he Lord hath ordained that in every city a House of Justice shall be established,” whose members are to “take counsel together and to have regard for the interests of the servants of God.…” In that same book, Bahá’u’lláh contemplated an international house of justice, in addition to the local houses of justice.

This article examines how ‘Abdu’l-Bahá promoted the arts during His ministry, through His encouragement and support of a prominent artist in the early Bahá’í community. Mishkín-Qalam was the first and most celebrated Bahá’í visual artist from the East. Best known for his calligraphic design of the Greatest Name, his life exemplified the “twofold moral purpose”: through his art, he was able to develop his own inherent spiritual potential as well as make lasting contributions to society. ‘Abdu’l-Bahá employed his artisticskill in service to some of the most important achievements of His ministry: the interment of the remains of the Báb, the construction of the first Bahá’í House of Worship, and the transcription of Bahá’í literature. ‘Abdu’l-Bahá’s encouragement might serve as an emerging model for individuals, communities, and institutions of how to engage with artists and the arts, while Mishkín-Qalam’s response stands as an example to artists of how the pursuit of spiritual virtue and excellence in one’s craft can intertwine.

In Civics learning in the delivery of material by conventional teachers which makes students less active in teaching and learning activities and leads to low student learning outcomes. Efforts are being made to increase the activity and student learning outcomes by applying the jigsaw cooperative learning model. The implementation of this classroom action research was carried out in 2 cycles and each cycle consisted of 2 meetings. The subjects of this classroom action research were 26 Class VIII students of Bahal Batu Private Middle School for the Academic Year 2021/2022. Data collection techniques using observation sheets, test techniques and documentation. Data validation in this study used data triangulation techniques. Data analysis used a qualitative descriptive technique. The results of data analysis show that the application of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model is proven to be able to increase student learning activities where in the initial conditions there were only 10 students or 40% increasing to 15 students or 60% and 25 students or 100% in the last cycle. Explanation of increased learning outcomes also increased in each cycle from 66.40 to 72.80 and 84.40 in the second cycle. This is also evidenced by an increase in classical learning completeness where in the initial conditions there were only 8 students or 32.00% increasing to 52.00% or 13 students and 22 students or 88.00% in the second cycle. From the explanation above, it can be concluded that the use of the jigsaw type cooperative learning model can increase the activity and learning outcomes of Class VIII students of Bahal Batu Private Middle School Semester 2 Academic Year 2021/2022 ABSTRAKPada pembelajaran PKn dalam penyampaian materi yang dilakukan guru dengan konvensional yang membuat siswa kurang aktif dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar dan berujung pada rendahnya hasil belajar siswa. Upaya yang dilakukan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas maupun hasil belajar siswa yaitu dengan menerapkan pembelajaran kooperatif model jigsaw. Pelaksanaan penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus dan pada masing-masing siklus terdiri dari 2 kali pertemuan. Subjek penelitian tindakan kelas ini adalah siswa Kelas VIII SMP Swasta Bahal Batu Tahun Pelajaran 2021/2022 sebanyak 26 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan lembar observasi, teknik tes dan dokumentasi. Validasi data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik triangulasi data. Analisis data menggunakan teknik deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif Jigsaw terbukti dapat meningkatkan aktivitas belajar siswa dimana pada kondisi awal hanya ada 10 siswa atau 40% meningkat menjadi 15 siswa atau 60% dan 25 siswa atau 100% pada siklus terakhir. Penjelasan peningkatan hasil belajar juga meningkat pada setiap siklusnya dari 66,40 menjadi 72,80 dan 84,40 pada siklus kedua. Hal tersebut juga dibuktikan dengan peningkatan ketuntasan belajar secara klasikal dimana pada kondisi awal hanya terdapat 8 siswa atau 32,00% meningkat menjadi 52,00% atau 13 siswa dan 22 siswa atau 88,00% pada siklus kedua. Dari penjelasan di atas maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa Kelas VIII SMP Swasta Bahal Batu Semester 2 Tahun Pelajaran 2021/2022

Kemudian, penelitian dilakukan lebih intensif sebagai upaya pemugaran dan pelestarian objek kepurbakalaan di kawasan ini. Hasilnya memperlihatkan pengenalan akan masa pendirian dan penggunaannya, latar belakang keagamaan yang melatarbelakangi pembangunannya, serta kaitannya dengan aktivitas perdagangan yang memanfaatkan aliran sungai yang bermuara ke Selat Malaka.

Complete and accurate global solar radiation (Rs) data at a specific region are crucial for regional climate assessment and crop growth modeling. The objective of this paper was to evaluate the capability of 12 solar radiation models based on meteorological data obtained from 21 meteorological stations in China. The results showed that the estimated and measured daily Rs had statistically significant correlations (P<0.01) for all the 12 models in 7 subzones of China. The Bahel model showed the best performance for daily Rs estimation among the sunshine-based models, with average R2 of 0.910, average RMSE of 2.306 MJ m−2 d−1, average RRMSE of 17.3%, average MAE of 1.724 MJ m−2 d−1, and average NS of 0.895, respectively. The Bristow-Campbell (BC) model showed the best performance among the temperature-based models, with average R2 of 0.710, average RMSE of 3.952 MJ m−2 d−1, average RRMSE of 29.5%, average MAE of 2.958 MJ m−2 d−1, and average NS of 0.696, respectively. On monthly scale, Ögelman model showed the best performance among the sunshine-based models, with average RE of 5.66%. The BC model showed the best performance among the temperature-based models, with average RE of 8.26%. Generally, the sunshine-based models were more accurate than the temperature-based models. Overall, the Bahel model is recommended to estimate daily Rs, Ögelman model is recommended to estimate monthly average daily Rs in China when the sunshine duration is available, and the BC model is recommended to estimate both daily Rs and monthly average daily Rs when only temperature data are available.

Pendahuluan: Pemeriksaan kehamilan atau antenatal care suatu program yang terdiri dari: pemeriksaan kesehatan, pengamatan, pendidikan kepada ibu hamil secara terstruktur dan terencana untuk mendapatkan suatu proses kehamilan dan persalinan yang aman dan memuaskan. Pelayanan antenatal care merupakan pelayanan kesehatan yang diberikan oleh tenaga kesehatan yang profesional untuk meningkatkan derajat kesehatan ibu hamil beserta janin dikandungnya. Antenatal care yang dilakukan secara teratur dan komprehensif dapat mendeteksi secara dini kelainan dan risiko yang mungkin timbul selama kehamilan, sehingga kelainan dan risiko tersebut dapat diatasi dengan cepat dan tepat. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu hamil melalui Penyuluhan antenatal care) standar 10 T. Metode: Desain dengan survey ibu hamil untuk memberikan penyuluhan tentang pemeriksaan antenatal care standar 10 T kepada 20 orang ibu hamil di 4 desa Wilayah Pusat kesehatan masyarakat Bahal Gajah yakni di desa Siboras, Urukblin, Bahal Gajah, Sumbari Kecamatan Silima Pungga Pungga Kabupaten Dairi. Hasil: Hasil pengabdian masyarakat bahwa pengetahuan ibu hamil tentang antenatal care standar 10 T sebelum penyuluhan mayoritas berpengetahuan kurang 11 orang (55%) setelah diberikan penyuluhan mayoritas berpengetahuan cukup 11 orang (55%), Nilai skore terendah sebelum penyuluhan adalah 35 dan tertinggi 65 sedangkan sesudah penyuluhan nilai skore terendah 50 dan tertinggi 80. Mean sebelum penyuluhan 50 dan sesudah penyuluhan 77 dengan selisih 27, nilai dan p-value < 0,001 atau (p<0,05) artinya ada pengaruh penyuluhan terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan Ibu hamil tentang antenata care. Kesimpulan : terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan, antara pengetahuan sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan tentang antenatal care standar 10 T . Saran diharapkan kepada tenaga kesehatan agar dapat memberikan penyuluhan kepada ibu hamil untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan

This article reviews major principles concerning racial prejudice that ‘Abdu’l-Bahá explained during His 1912 visit to North America. Three of the principles that emerged from talks He gave during that trip were the fallacy of racial prejudice, the need to judge people by their moral character rather than their race, and the mutual responsibilities of different races toward each other. The article describes how these principles helped the author research and then write a combination history and memoir of race relations and desegregation in South Carolina during the civil rights era. The author comments on the difficult task of writing academic material that caters to a secular audience but draws on Bahá’í insights, and then explains attempts to do so in this research project.

This paper presents a joint source–channel image transmission model based on a modified trellis construction using variable-length and fixed-length codes. The model employs linear block trellis codes and a modified Bahl–Cocke–Jelinek–Raviv algorithm for decoding in the source channel. Additionally, this model utilizes a hierarchical tree and a parity-check matrix to combine the source and channel codes, reducing errors in the decoding process and enabling the decoding of longer sequences without substantial loss of quality.

AbstractIn the Piercian Semiotics, a reliefs can be seen as a system of signification that consist of, an object (called sign in Saussurean Semiotics), representamen (reference of an object), and interpretan (a new object (sign) as a result of the relation between an object and its representamen based on iconical, indexical or symbolical ground). By means of that, in order to understood why Sumateran arthist were sculpted the rakshashas figure in a dancing gesture on the base-feet of Biaro Bahal I, is by connected that reliefs with the iconical, indexical or symbolical ground that exist in their people. For example, a relation with the Vajrayana Buddhism doctrine.

AbstractBiaros in Padanglawas area have many sculpter related with Siwa God. It is shows much relief about some man or giant in different pose or in dancing poses, such as Biaro Bahal I, Biaro Tandihat I, and Biaro Pulo. A pose about traditional dance and related with Siwa as destructor, and in this present shows that dance related with some traditional dance from Papak tribe in North Sumatera. There also some evindence such as triśula, Siva Tandava pose, and story from Thilai Vanam, Nandi and Ganeśa relief showed that reliefs from some biaro are related with Siwa as Hinduism God. In order to understand Padanglawas Biaras religion background, the inductive-deductive analogy from various archaeological data might be used. The result that realize including to several dancing pose, and figuratives relief at Biara Tandihat 1 showed it is similarities to the stories about Lord Siva dance and it is cult at several place.AbstrakBiaro-Biaro di Padanglawas mempunyai banyak temuan kearcaan yang berhubungan Dewa Siwa. Itu semua memperlihatkan relief tentang orang atau raksasa dalam berbagai pose seperti di Biaro Bahal I, Biaro Tandihat I, dan Biaro Pulo. Pose yang berhubungan dengan tari tradisional dan sesuai dengan Siwa sebagai penghancur, pada saat ini ada persamaan dengan tari tradisional dari suku bangsa Pakpak di Sumatera Utara. Juga ditemukan beberapa bukti seperti triśula, beberapa pose dari Siwa Tandawa, cerita tentang Hutan Thilai, Nandi dan Ganesa, kesemuanya berhubungan dengan Dewa Siwa sebagai Dewa Agama Hindu. Untuk memahami latar belakang keagamaan di Biaro-Biaro Padanglawas, maka digunakan penalaran induktif-deduktif dari berbagai data arkeologis. Hasil yang dicapai meliputi beberapa pose tari dan relief tokoh yang ada di Biaro Tandihat I memperlihatkan kesamaan dengan cerita tarian Dewa Siwa di beberapa tempat dan adanya pengkultusan kepada Dewa Siwa.

In this paper, a new estimator for estimating the finite population distribution function(DF) are propose using supplementary information on the DF of the auxiliary variable under simple random sampling. A comparative study is conducted to compare, theoretically and numerically, the adapted distribution function estimators of Cochran (1940), Murthy (1967), Bahl and Tuteja (1991), Rao (1991), Singh et al. (2009) and Grover and Kaur (2014) with the proposed estimators. It is found that the proposed estimators always perform better than the adapted estimators in terms of MSE and percentage relative efficiency.

Of the various systems that we can actually observe in the physical world, some (e.g., the movement of small dust particles suspended in the air) appear to be perfectly random (or chaotic); whereas, others (e.g., the growth of leaved plants) exhibit a high degree of order and structure. Whenever scientists encounter a phenomenon or system that exhibits a significant evolution towards order, but without any observable reason for such movement, they suspect the cause to be the objective action of some unseen force (e.g., the unseen force of gravity that, in the presence of a large mass like the earth, causes the persistent downward movement of unsupported objects). Using this method, modern physics has now validated the existence of at least four basic forces (gravity, the strong and the weak nuclear forces, and electromagnetic force), and continues to examine the possibility that other, hitherto undetected, forces may exist. In 1921 ‘Abdu’l-Bahá presented a cogent scientific argument for the existence of an objective, unseen force as the only reasonable explanation for the phenomenon of biological evolution. In the years since ‘Abdu’l-Bahá’s proof was first published, the findings of science have tended to show that, indeed, the phenomenon of evolution represents a persistent movement from disorder towards order of the kind that strongly suggests the action of some unobservable force different from all other forces so far discovered. In this article, we present a somewhat detailed reformulation of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá’s argument using certain contemporary scientific terms that were not current at the time ‘Abdu’l-Bahá wrote.

Current studies by leading scientists have suggested an imminent "Grand Transition" or "Megaleap" in human evolution, as foreshadowed by 'Abdu'l-Bahá in his prediction of a Lesser Peace before the oncoming end of the century. In seeking to provide a view of North America's and the Bahá'í Faith's role at this time of probable crisis, a number of scenarios of possible radical change are suggested, along with the unique characteristics of the Bahá'í teachings which make the Bahá'í Faith the logical candidate for salvation of individuals and society, the bonding power for that world unity already far toward realization by humankind.

Resumo:
The meaning of the library as a social institution has changed over time. The library’s role in human progress and in the generation of knowledge is alluded to briefly by ‘Abdu’l-Bahá and, more frequently, by Shoghi Effendi. These references have historical precedents but are an expression of unique ontological and epistemological commitments in Bahá’u’lláh’s vision of an emerging global civilization. This paper compares conceptions of libraries in the writings of Shoghi Effendi to different meanings assigned to libraries throughout history, comments on Bahá’í beliefs that could inform the practice of librarianship, and suggests a number of avenues for future research.
