The monograph was written by a team of authors based on the results of the interregional conference "The possibilities of combining natural and artificial intelligence in educational systems", as well as on the basis of regular meetings within the framework of the virtual laboratory for the study of artificial intelligence and robotics. The discussion was held in a format combined with a meeting of the Southern Branch of the Interregional Public Organization "Academy of Informatization of Education" (UO AIO), which has already turned 20 years old. The main objective of the conference was to analyze the possibilities of interaction between natural and artificial intelligence in educational systems of various levels, the issues of the use of modern information technologies, software, artificial intelligence, digitalization in educational organizations in the implementation of educational activities and the educational process, robotic technologies in education, etc. were considered. Scholarly writing on the music of Arvo Pärt is situated primarily in the fields of musicology, cultural and media studies, and, more recently, in terms of theology/spirituality. Arvo Pärt: Sounding the Sacred focuses on the representational dimensions of Pärt’s music (including the trope of silence), writing and listening past the fact that its storied effects and affects are carried first and foremost as vibrations through air, impressing themselves on the human body. In response, this ambitiously interdisciplinary volume asks: What of sound and materiality as embodiments of the sacred, as historically specific artifacts, and as elements of creation deeply linked to the human sensorium in Pärt studies? In taking up these questions, the book “de-Platonizes” Pärt studies by demystifying the notion of a single “Pärt sound.” It offers innovative, critical analyses of the historical contexts of Pärt’s experimentation, medievalism, and diverse creative work; it re-sounds the acoustic, theological, and representational grounds of silence in Pärt’s music; it listens with critical openness to the intersections of theology, sacred texts, and spirituality in Pärt’s music; and it positions sensing, performing bodies at the center of musical experience. The 2022 edition of the APO Productivity Databook aims to support APO member economies in coping with current challenges, including postpandemic revival, and contribute to their sustainable socioeconomic development through enhancing productivity. It focuses on the quality of economic and productivity growth with comparisons among APO members at different development stages. It covers Asian economic development from 1970 to 2020, with projections of economic growth and labor productivity improvement through 2030. The analyses are based on comprehensive productivity accounts drawn from the APO Productivity Database for 31 Asian economies along with the USA as a reference. In addition, regional productivity accounts for six economic groups, the APO21, Asia25, East Asia, South Asia, CLMV, and ASEAN6, are included for comparisons based on 2017 benchmark estimates of purchasing power parity published in April 2020 by the International Comparison Program. In this book we analyse the sustainability question in the Modern Production System, which today encompasses most of the world economy. We present concepts, theories, indicators, indices, formulas, methods and historical date to examine the evolution and trends of two sustainable development dimensions: socioeconomic and environmental. We focus on the nature-economy nexus and analyse its contradictory process: the more the economics needs nature, the more its cause natural resources depletion and environmental degradation. The huge increase on CO2 emissions in the last three decades – from oil, coal and another non-renewable resources– provides strong evidence to such contradiction. We then analyze the role of material recycle as a solution against both, resources depletion and environmental degradation. Our analysis suggests that the recycle of materials can only contribute to reduce the problem. Moreover, there cycle process of materials depends, on many cases, of public or social subsidies – as financial incentives from the government and domestic material selection. The environment problem transcends borders (as an enterprise, a village, a city, or a country): one can be sustainable, but in fact transfer to other its environmental problem. We adopt the notion of Environmental Space to deal with the sustainability question. We then present and apply the concept of Eco-inequal Exchange to analyse such a question. The environmental movement, which started about fifty years ago, did transform the sustainable development into a global mission. By exposing socio-environmental problems generated by the modern production system itself, this book aims to contribute to a better understanding the limits and possibilities of ours actions as environmentalists.

Në mënyrë të qëllimshme janë përjashtuar rastet e veçanta, edhe pse mund të jenë tepër sinjifikative, me qëllim që të hidhet dritë mbi karakteristikat e përgjithshme të çdo lloj plani. Abstract Harold Garfinkel's Studies in Ethnomethodology (1967) was published a little more than 50 years ago. Since then, there has been a substantial—although often subterranean—growth in ethnomethodological work and influence. Studies in and appreciation of ethnomethodological work continue to grow, but the breadth and penetration of his insights and inspiration for ongoing research have yet to secure their full measure of recognition. The origins of Garfinkel’s ethnomethodology include both the theorizing of Parsonian sociology and the phenomenology of Alfred Schütz, whose analysis of the trust conditions making for a stable society informed Garfinkel’s analysis of the “taken-for-granted” aspects of the ordinary social world. Further theoretical contributions include the development of analyses related to the “documentary method of interpretation,” highly innovative analyses of rules and rule usage, and a radical treatment of such phenomena as language use and accountability. Separate chapters highlight contributions to such areas or subdisciplines as conversation analysis, ethnomethodology’s distinctive forms of ethnographic inquiry, and its influences on a host of substantive domains, including legal environments, science and technology, workplace and organizational inquiries, survey research, social problems and deviance, disability and atypical interaction, and others. Ethnomethodology especially helped to set the agenda for gender studies, while also developing insights for inquiries into racial and ethnic features of everyday life and experience. Still, there is much of what Garfinkel called “unfinished business,” which means that ethnomethodological inquiries are continuing to intensify and develop.

Minoan Crete is rightly famous for its idiosyncratic architecture, as well as its palaces and towns such as Knossos, Malia, Gournia, and Palaikastro. Indeed, these are often described as the first urban settlements of Bronze Age Europe. However, we still know relatively little about the dynamics of these early urban centres. How did they work? What role did the palaces have in their towns, and the towns in their landscapes? It might seem that with such richly documented architectural remains these questions would have been answered long ago. Yet, analysis has mostly found itself confined to building materials and techniques, basic formal descriptions, and functional evaluations. Critical evaluation of these data as constituting a dynamic built environment has thus been slow in coming. This volume aims to provide a first step in this direction. It brings together international scholars whose research focuses on Minoan architecture and urbanism as well as on theory and methods in spatial analyses. By combining methodological contributions with detailed case studies across the different scales of buildings, settlements and regions, the volume proposes a new analytical and interpretive framework for addressing the complex dynamics of the Minoan built environment.

Artifacts from Ancient Rome is a unique social history that explores major aspects of daily life in a long-ago era via images of physical objects and historical information about these items. A presente obra intitulada “Discussões Jurídicas Contemporâneas” apresenta temas relevantes para quem pretende aprofundar conhecimentos ligados à justiça, os quais exercem grande poder de atração. Estudantes e profissionais do ramo podem se beneficiar da leitura dos textos apresentados no presente livro como cenário para suas tramas, a partir dos estudos desenvolvidos pelos autores que compõem essa obra. No capítulo 1, Isadora Regina Huk dos Santos e Elcio Domingues da Silva apresentam o estudo relacionado à problemática da eficácia da medida socioeducativa voltada ao trabalho na Comarca de Ponta Grossa/PR, apresentando como objetivo geral a sua análise e, como objetivo específico o resgate histórico do sistema de responsabilização advindo com a Constituição Federal de 1988, e a análise do atual sistema de responsabilização em conformidade com a eficácia do projeto: “Jovem Cidadão no Mercado de Trabalho: inclusão e desenvolvimento”. Vale observar que, nos termos do artigo 17 da Lei n.8.069/90 foram preservados o direito à liberdade, ao respeito e a dignidade, deixando de mencionar qualquer dado que possa identificar os adolescentes que fizeram parte desta pesquisa e, em conformidade com o artigo 143 da referida lei, salienta a vedação de qualquer ato judicial, policial e administrativo referentes a crianças e adolescentes a que se impute a prática de ato infracional. Interessante destacar que o estudo menciona brevemente algumas adaptações quanto ao atual cenário causado pela Pandemia do Covid-19. Já no capítulo 2, Ronan Medeiros Martins e Sandro Marcos Godoy apresentam a situação de superendividamento do consumidor e sua possível prevenção e tratamento previsto na Lei 14.181 de 2021, destacando uma análise acerca da nova sistemática proposta. O estudo pondera acerca do fenômeno do superendividamento do consumidor na sociedade atual e, posteriormente, analisa acerca da nova resolução do problema previsto na Lei 14.181 de 2021. Os autores concluíram que o superendividamento é uma situação que prejudica toda a sociedade, atingindo tanto o consumidor e sua família quanto os credores e a economia. A legislação busca reinserir o consumidor na sociedade com o tratamento do superendividamento e com a possibilidade de efetivo recebimento dos valores pelos credores, gerando benefícios à economia do país. Aline Cristina Coleto e Davi Dos Santos, no capítulo 3 abordam a temática de acidentes de trânsito no Brasil, a partir do estudo realizado que analisa os motivos da significativa quantidade de recusas em realizar teste com etilômetro, sem a prisão do infrator. O estudo analisou e apresentou diretrizes de como o Estado pode reduzir as recusas em realizar o teste com bafômetro através de intervenções na legislação atual e aprimoramento dos procedimentos nas fiscalizações. A pesquisa concluiu que há necessidade de proporcionar melhores condições de trabalho e treinamento aos agentes públicos em campo, para constatação adequada da embriaguez; encaminhamentos mais céleres, aos outros órgãos ou que tenham ferramentas legais para encaminhar diretamente ao judiciário, os infratores abordados em fiscalizações de rotina. Também, a médio e longo prazo, alterações na legislação para reduzir as recusas em realizar o teste com etilômetro. No capítulo 4, Emanuelle França Kuriu e Vitor Hugo Bueno Fogaça apresentam uma análise do efeito do incidente de desconsideração da personalidade jurídica na execução trabalhista. O objetivo geral é verificar como o incidente de desconsideração da personalidade jurídica impacta a efetividade da execução trabalhista. O estudo trata dos princípios do direito processual do trabalho, apresenta uma breve análise da parte histórica do incidente de desconsideração da personalidade jurídica no direito brasileiro, assim como sua aplicação no Direito do Trabalho e a inserção de tal mecanismo após a Lei 13.467/2017. Os autores realizaram uma pesquisa de campo com advogados do âmbito trabalhista em relação à efetividade das execuções trabalhistas, se consideram o incidente como favorável ou não, e qual a percepção do incidente de desconsideração da personalidade jurídica. O estudo demonstrou que o incidente de desconsideração da personalidade jurídica é uma ferramenta útil para a efetivação da execução trabalhista, mas depende de uma aplicação adequada para garantir que o instituto alcance plena aplicabilidade na Justiça do Trabalho.

The first synthetic peptides were produced a century ago. In the ensuing period, they have developed as valuable research tools that are readily available to all researchers. However, since most researchers do not make their own peptides, they are often unfamiliar with not only the synthetic chemistry but also with important and useful aspects of design, analysis, handling, and applications. This volume is the second edition of a volume that was first published 10 years ago. It is written by experts in the field who provide detailed descriptions as well as practical advice for producing and using synthetic peptides. The various chapters cover peptide design considerations, the synthetic chemistry, the evaluation of the synthetic product, and the modern applications of synthetic peptides. This includes the basic principles of peptide structure, analysis and chain assembly as well as the latest in selective disulfide bond formation, new strategies for the production of large peptides, and sequencing peptides by mass spectrometry. This book was designed with the intent of providing useful information both for the novices to the field as well as more seasoned practitioners. Its contents will help prevent problems commonly encountered and allow scientists to optimize their use of synthetic peptides.

This article describes the forty-year history of publications in quantitative political methodology. It also illustrates that the range and scope of outlets now available stands in dramatic contrast to what existed forty years ago. It begins with material in leading general journals, the American Political Science ReviewAPSR and the American Journal of Political Science (AJPS). From there, it traces the development of more specialized venues, such as Political Methodology (POM), Political Analysis (POA), the Political Methodologist (TPM), and the Sage Quantitative Analysis in the Social Sciencesseries (QASS). From the vantage point of today, the mid-2000s, a political scientist seeking to publish a paper in quantitative methods has at least five opportunities.

Resumo:

Shakespeare’s early style is explored from the angles of theory and dramatic practice, and in relation to the social and political contexts of the 1590s. Arguing that ornament and symmetry are the two distinct properties of Shakespeare’s early style, the essay discusses hyperbole, repetition, and parallelism as the most prominent features of that style. Claiming that Shakespeare’s use of bombast in the Henry VI trilogy and in Titus Andronicus is more sophisticated than Robert Greene and William Scott deemed it to be, the essay also explores the complex employment of symmetry, repetition and parallelism in Love’s Labour’s Lost, Richard III, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Richard III, and in the embedded sonnets in Romeo and Juliet and Much Ado About Nothing. In conclusion, hyperbole is linked with the period’s colonial aspirations, demonstrated in a comparative analysis of Much Ado and Richard Hakluyt’s Principal nauigations.
