Texto completo da fonteSpeech is nowadays present in a number of in-car applications ranging from hands-free communications, radio programs to speech synthesis messages from the various car devices. However, despite the steady car manufacturing progress, significant noise still remains in the car interior that leads to a loss of intelligibility of speech signals. The PhD work aims at developping speech reinforcement tools in order to process the signals before they are played in a noisy in-car environment.A highly effective speech reinforcement approach is to use a frequency equalizer to optimize an intelligibility criterion : the Speech Intelligibility Index (SII). To facilitate optimization, current methods are based on approximations of the criterion. In addition, by concentrating the spectral energy of the signal in areas where the ear is more sensitive, these methods increase the perceived volume which can deteriorate the user experience. Thus, in addition to proposing an exact method of solving the SII maximization problem, our work proposes to introduce and study the influence of a new perceptual constraint in order to maintain the signals at their perceived level. The popularization of machine learning approaches pushes to learn speech reinforcement processings from examples naturally produced in noise (Lombard speech), or by over-articulation (clear speech). Current work fails to achieve intelligibility gains as significant as with natural modification, and we believe that the many temporal aspects neglect may be partially responsible. Our work therefore proposes to deepen these approaches by exploiting learning models and pre-processings adapted to long duration sequences. We also propose a new modeling of the speech rate modifications that directly fits in the machine learning model which had never been done before

Texto completo da fonteThe dominant recurring theme in the semiconductor industry is the necessity to integrate an increasing number of transistors in the same surface area. This reduction in dimensions makes it possible to produce circuits capable of more complex tasks, operating at increased speed and at a lower cost. The key process step in this miniaturization is optical projection lithography. However, by reducing the widths of the transistors and the spaces between them, we increase the sensitivity of the transfer to optical proximity effects. "Optical proximity correction" (OPC) techniques are necessary to improve the printability of patterns for the advanced lithographic generations. Ln this context, it becomes paramount to be able to control and improve the robustness of post-OPC pattern printability throughout the process window. Three techniques were developed. First, models calibrated through the process window are presented and used in the quality control of the patterning in resist. They make it possible to understand the variation of the dimensions of patterns subjected to variations of dose and focus. Second, a statistical methodology was developed with the same aim. The interest of this technique is that it requires only one simulation to obtain information regarding the pinching or bridging of the resist in the process window. It can also be easily integrated into the OPC flow to correct detected defects. Lastly, a new technique, called local energy, has been introduced for the control and placement of assist features. This method is a generalization of the concept of isofocal printing. It allows, with only one simulation, to know the robustness of patterns with respect to defocus. Its use improves the placement of assist features in generalized two dimensional complex circuits

Texto completo da fonteWhile self-efficacy appears as a main behaviour’s explanatory variable, little research has been conducted regarding the potential mechanisms that could improve self-efficacy in the specific context of marketing communication. Moreover, despite the strong stakes linked with organ and gamete donations, such causes have received little attention from researchers in social marketing and persuasive communication. Through research, vicarious experience (observation learning) appeared as one of the main levers of self-efficacy. The objective was to transpose this vicarious experience in an imaginary context by activating transportation mental imagery. This transportation experience, provoked by narrative communications and involving receiver’s identification to the main character of the story, leads to receiver’s desire to look like the donor and to the reinforcement of their self-efficacy to donate their organs / gametes. Two independent studies were conducted in order to test and validate the proposed research model. Contributions and limits of this research are highlighted and potential future research directions are presented
