Texto completo da fonteAlthough workforce scheduling has been studied for decades, it remains highly relevant. In particular, applications and contexts are numerous, and they are always changing. Moreover, decision-support tools dedicated to workforce scheduling could still be improved. In this thesis, we focus on the particular context where workers are assigned to fixed tasks which cannot be preempted and require specific skills. First, we study a problem arising in a company specialized in drug evaluation where fixed tasks have to be assigned in a fair way to qualified employees so that the resulting individual shifts and plannings respect legal and organizational constraints. To handle this problem, we design and compare two exact methods, one based on a MIP model, the other on a CP approach, but also two meta-heuristics, one based on a decomposition strategy, and the other on a large neighborhood search. The best method is integrated within a decision support system. Second, we study a fixed tasks assignment problem, where the objective is to minimize the number of resources required to perform all the tasks. To tackle this problem, we suggest a constraint based approach which takes advantage of the structure of the problem. This approach enables to compute good bounds quickly, and thus, it proves optimality over state-of-the-art instances within a reasonable time limit

Texto completo da fonteThe airlines crew rostering problem considers the assignment of the crew staff to a set of pairings covering all the scheduled flights so that operations costs are minimized while its solution meets hard constraints resulting from the safety regulations and the airlines internal agreements. These constraints contributes to the formulation of a complex combinatorial optimization problem for which a number of exact and approximate methods haven been developed. The approach proposed in this thesis differs from former works by three principal points : the integration of satisfaction degree of the crew members ; the crew rostering problem is dealt in a dynamic context where disturbances lead to modifications for the monthly crew roster planning. So this approach goes well beyond the simple resolution of a mathematical problem and configures a supervision function of the crew assignment process ; the use of techniques of the Artificial Intelligence field : Fuzzy logic and Genetic algorithms. In this study, two main situations are treated : the nominal crew rostering probelm which is elaborated before the beginning of the operation period. The reassignment in a dynamic context where disturbances lead to modifications of the monthly crew roster planning. In the first case, we deal with a combinatorial optimization problem considering simultaneously the two following criteria : the cost-airline associated with the crew assignment and the satisfaction of the crew staff. The solution approach proposed here is composed of two steps : in the first one a GRASP heuristic method is designed to get a first set of high satisfaction assignment solutions and in the second one, an optimization process, based on Genetic Algorithms is developed to minimize the crew assignment cost. A set of not-dominated solutions is then generated. Fuzzy logic is used to estimate the degree of satisfaction of the crew members. In the second case, the solution approach proposed takes into account the dynamic context of the operations which leads to an on-line redefinition of the assignment solutions. The objective consists here in minimizing the number of modifications of the previous planning. A solution scheme close to Dynamic Progamming generates a set of feasible assignment solutions and a Fuzzy Logic approach defines the relevant penalities to be introduced in the decision criterion

Texto completo da fonteIn the context of international mobility, we aim to explore in this thesis the motivations of the French executives regarding their intentions to accept an international assignment.Our study is based on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and enabled us to conclude that the intentions to accept international assignment does not depend solely on the attitudes. The perceived behavioral control also contribute to the determination of this intention. The theoretical contribution of our research is to apply the model of TPB on the French executives who have the intention to accept an international assignment. The managerial contribution is to offer the firms some key guidelines to broaden their understanding pertaining to the improvement in their practices of mobility by identifying the motivations of the executives for an international assignment.The methodological contribution is the proposition of scenarios based on country of destination for exhibiting the contribution of three determinants of this intention in terms of attitudes, social norms and perceived control

Texto completo da fonteStaff scheduling challenges have been extensively studied in transportation sectors like airlines, railways, and urban buses, yet their application in sea transport remains notably underexplored. This work addresses a seafaring staff scheduling problem inspired by a real case study, where a shipowner operates multiple vessel categories requiring specific skills. The objective is to achieve a fair workload distribution, minimize worker incompatibility, and comply with legal requirements such as mandatory rest periods and shift intervals. The novelty of this work lies in the integration of these multiple objectives and constraints into a Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) model, supported by experimental results that assess the model’s performance under varying parameters. This research demonstrates that the problem is NP-hard, justifying the use of heuristic methods. The heuristic approach, rigorously tested against exact methods, is shown to effectively manage scheduling while adhering to the problem's constraints. Benchmarking results reveal that the heuristic yields near-optimal solutions with significantly reduced computation times, offering a practical decision-support tool for complex maritime staff scheduling

It takes into account different constraints like human resources availability, competences,urgency degree management of interventions requests etc.The proposed method is based on a discrete event simulation model, providing a better presentation ofthe maintenance service and better comprehensive thanks to the performance indicators. To improveuntil optimize the model, a simulation-based Pareto optimization method is introduced. Optimizationmodule was coded on independent programs in order to provide an opportunity of control thesimulation based optimization process.The proposed simulation based optimization method find good solutions in a reasonable amount oftime. Applying this technique on an industrial case-study, we show that it is more effective indetecting real faults than existing alternatives. The approach can be extended to cover other domainsand other types of simulation models

New policies of health care budget control have been introduced to increase efficiency, reduce waste and reshape the entire health care system. Targeted organizations are complex networks of human,financial, structural and technological resources aiming at guarantying best public health care.These issues concern all the more Emergency Departments (ED) congested by the massive influx of passages and which must provide quick decisions and ensure the sizing of its resources to reduce waiting times for patients with out compromising quality of care.The objective of this thesis is to propose appropriate solutions to ED to improve carefor patients in terms of waiting time. We began by analyzing the problems of the emergency department in order to initiate a process of improvement. Subsequently, we modeled the process of care for patients at ED by using an open and dynamic multi-agent system. The proposed system can provide decision support on business planning and allocation of medical resources in a unit where one is often faced with an emergency situation requiring rapid and effective response. In this context, we study the reactive problem for optimizing scheduling of operations care and the coordination problem of medical staff. We take into account the skills mastered by human resources at ED in order to find a match with those required by the medical activity. This approach aims to increase quality, reduce time of expectation and provide pointers gains management

Texto completo da fonteAIM. These researches examined the association between quality of work life (QoWL) and organizational factors within health care workers. METHOD. Two studies by questionnaires and two studies by semi-structured interviews were conducted. Studies by questionnaires explored the professional psychosocial characteristics (JCQ), quality of life (SF-12) and psycho-organizational constraints (NWI-EO). The interviews focused on the work organization, the work environment, the interpersonal relationships and the influence of work on health. RESULTS. A total of 452 professionals participated in the studies by questionnaires and 36 professionals were interviewed. Professionals who lived a department relocation have presented an increase of job strain associated with social isolation and declared greater constraints concerning the lack of communication as well as team relationships. In our population, the other main factors associated with the degradation of psychosocial characteristics and quality of life are to work more than two weekends a month, to be regularly on call, to work in non-functional environments and to do not participate in regular meetings. CONCLUSION. These results call the hospital management to design more appropriate communication processes, to provide a good balance between professional and personal life as well as an ergonomic and functional environment
