Good economic results in tourism are achieved through tourist expenditure. The way in which these results are achieved in the receptive tourism country or region depends on the optimal level of the designed tourism offer and suitability towards the tourism spending. In relation to natural and other preconditions for tourism Croatia's tourism offer is not exhausted. On the contrary, the countries tourism product is outdated, reflected in low tourism spending compared to other competitive Mediterranean countries. Tourism enterprises do not use marketing application sufficiently, and strategic marketing is very little or not at all used. To correct the present situation it is necessary to reconstruct the tourism offer and innovate Croatia's tourism product. Success in tourism in the European tourism market will become more dependent on harmonising marketing technological development and management. All of this points to the necessity of the application of marketing strategies which is a means for achieving marketing activities' goals in the tourism economy.

Universiti Teknologi MARA Perlis Branch (UiTM Perlis) faced a huge challenge in teaching and learning for the subject Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship (ENT300/ETR300). This subject is classified as a university's code; therefore every diploma student in UiTM must enroll for the subject. The enrollment for ENT300/ETR300 increased from 570 students (semester 2012) to a maximum of 1,384 students (semester 2013). Thus, it leads to various weaknesses such as insufficient instructors, complexities in conducting student assessments, as well as limited facilities available in the university. Because of this, i-CREATE was designed to address these issues. Using this strategy, the process of teaching and learning for ENT300/ETR300 has been innovated. This method provides benefits to various parties including students, instructors, faculty members, and university.

Under modern tort law, the “strict” product liability cause of action does not impose true strict liability (liability without fault). This Article suggests that this counterintuitive development is not the byproduct of a policy choice. Instead, an unresolved doctrinal difficulty is responsible for the modern requirement that a plaintiff prove fault before winning on a “strict” product liability claim. The doctrinal difficulty is this: How can tort law impose liability on faultless product manufacturers while simultaneously preventing plaintiffs with fault from being able to recover under a true strict liability standard? This Article posits that both results are desirable—true strict product liability, but not for plaintiffs with fault—but that it is analytically difficult to assemble tort doctrine to get both results. Without a doctrinal solution that allows for both results, courts have (mostly) retreated from a true strict product liability standard. This Article offers a simple solution to this analytical/doctrinal riddle: Restoring the strict product liability cause of action such that it truly imposes liability without fault, while allowing defendants a contributory negligence (flat-bar) defense to this strict liability claim. Under this doctrinal change, plaintiffs without fault would be able to recover from manufacturers on a true strict product liability claim. Plaintiffs with fault, however, would be forced to pursue a negligence claim, meaning that their ability to recover would require them to show that the defendant also had fault. This doctrinal fix uses tools and concepts already familiar to modern tort law and is thus easily achievable. In fact, all that is necessary to effectuate this result is a simple, minor change to the current comparative fault jury instructions used in most jurisdictions.

Innovation process is one of activities that have strategic importance for long term success of company due to possibility to develop and change key competencies, capabilities and competitive advantages. However one of crucial issues of managing organization is achieving balance between securing present revenue streams and ability of creating new value for customers. Therefore the main goal of this paper is to recognize the relation between different configurations of innovation process and achieved results of organization`s ambidexterity level. These issues were subject of survey covering 400 medium and large size Polish entities and period of 2015-2017. Most important finding is that there is positive correlation between implementation level of innovation process and achieved ambidexterity level. This paper is addressed to researchers as well for practitioners of management, especially R+D managers, COO and CEO.

Sport represents a domain where various functions and effects can be manifested. The sports industry today is characterized by modern technology, especially in the sphere of manufacturing sports props and equipment, which significantly helps its development and progress. The sports industry today exists within the social-economic achievements and power of a society. In essence, it should adapt to the new living conditions, work conditions and the conditions in which business is being conducted. Today, it is necessary to invest more in the offer of the sports industry (athletes, results, equipment, equipment, facilities, diagnostics ...), in order to be more efficient in the form of the final product on the market. The industry must adapt to the conditions of the world market (supply and demand). That is why it is sometimes necessary to also expand the range of constituents in order to win a medal – achieve a top sports result. This article will analyze the phenomenon of the modern sports industry as a business model, its production and the realization of the necessary conditions for achieving top sports results and winning medals at big competitions. Naturally, without unity between numerous external and internal factors no top sports results can be achieved. The authors also deal with an analysis of the factors of the sports industry.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to propose and test a dual pathway model whereby addressing the question, “What are the effects of supply chain orientation and organizational identification on internal integration and supplier integration?”.Design/methodology/approachA survey design was performed to collect data from supply chain professionals regarding their organization’s supply chain orientation (SCO), organizational identification (OI) and achieved states of both internal and supplier integration. Partial least squares-structural equation modeling was performed to test the dual mediating pathways.FindingsThe results show that internal integration partially mediates relationships between SCO and supplier integration and for OI and supplier integration. In comparing the mediating effects to test competing theories, the SCO path yields stronger complementary partial mediation. This supports the proposition that SCO and OI mutually exist within an organization and influence achieved integrative behaviors. Additionally, results suggest the behavioral spillover effect exists for an internally integrated organization that has also achieved supplier integration.Originality/valueThis research makes several contributions to extant literature, including finding that SCO contributes to levels of achieved integration. Also, this research theoretically integrates literature on the social dilemma associated with supplier integration and the behavioral spillover effect, suggesting that SCO allows for positive internal integrative behaviors to spillover to integrated suppliers. Finally, this research contributes to research on OI by finding achieved integration is an outcome, which refutes a dominate theory that explains OI facilitates negative behaviors toward external organizations.

The "epidemic of myopia" that swept the world in the second half of the XX century, according to forecasts, is predicted to lead to the fact that every second inhabitant of the planet by 2050 will have myopic refraction. Measures to prevent the development of this scenario also include the study of factors influencing the onset and progression of myopia. In addition to genetic factors, the role of myopia correction used by the patient seems to be significant. The dualism of ophthalmologists’ approaches to prescribing the correction of myopia is based on the inconsistency of the results of studies from the middle of the last century or the present. In this article, the authors analyze well-known clinical studies, as well as their own observations in the field of prescribing correction of myopia. Outpatient patient records were analyzed, a total of 20 cases (n=20) of myopia of various degrees were examined. All patients underwent measurements of clinical refraction in conditions of cycloplegia and measurement of anterior-posterior eye size. Preliminary results show that the appointment of incomplete correction for mild and moderate myopia in patients of primary and secondary school age (9–15 years) leads to a significant growth of the eye in sagittal size and increased clinical refraction. The use of full correction of myopia in patients of this group already in the first 6 months caused a decrease in the growth rate of these indicators. While at an older age and with a high degree of myopia, there were no noticeable differences in the appointment of complete and incomplete correction. The authors draw conclusions about the relevance of complete correction of myopia, especially for patients under the age of 15.

On the other, it can hinder effective problem-solving, increase defensiveness and member dissatisfaction, and create a destructive work environment. This paper aims to outline four important components of harmonization that help to enhance conflict-management capability. Design/methodology/approach Based on Nguyen and Belk’s (2013) harmonization framework, the author adds their own comments and places in the context of resolving conflict in organization. Findings The harmonization process synthesizes multiple goals and balances differences to achieve better solutions without discounting any of these elements. Harmonization provides better understanding of important issues and why they are critical to each party. Each party will feel better about the situation after having heard the other side’s position. There might be anger, anxiety, or frustration at the beginning. However, when people successfully go through the harmonization process, they feel happy, connected to others and proud of the results they get. These processes require communicating with others, learning others’ perspectives, understanding and empathizing with others, and being willing to adjust. Practical implications The paper outlines four skills in which organizations can train their employees to improve conflict management. Originality/value Harmonization process is applied to conflict management in organization.
