Resumo:

Objetivo: analisar o desenvolvimento e aplicação do tratamento diretamente observado em casos de pacientes com tuberculose drogarresistente. Métodos: trata-se de um relato das experiências vivenciadas por acadêmicas de Enfermagem na execução do tratamento diretamente observado a pacientes com tuberculose drogarresistente desde o ano de 2018 até fevereiro de 2020. As informações contidas nos relatos foram adquiridas por meio de prontuários do serviço municipal e pela documentação estruturada mensalmente pelas extensionistas em planilhas do Microsoft Office 2016 durante o acompanhamento dos doentes. Resultados: A.A.M. 68 anos, tabagista e ex-etilista, resistente à Isoniazida e Estreptomicina, 18 meses de tratamento, mostrou-se muito receptivo com a equipe do Tratamento Diretamente Observado, seguindo as orientações passadas e contribuindo positivamente durante o tratamento, apresentando desfecho por cura e alta com exames satisfatórios. A.A.C 64 anos, etilista, tabagista ativo, resistente à Rifampicina, Isoniazida, Pirazinamida e Estreptomicina, 24 meses de tratamento, apresentou ausência de medidas de autocuidado, negação do diagnóstico, baixa adesão, uso de álcool e tabaco e rede de apoio insuficiente, segue no 19º mês de tratamento. Conclusão: São necessárias medidas de apoio para desestimular o uso do álcool e tabaco através de estratégias e ações multiprofissionais, com vistas no controle da combinação do uso de substâncias com a doença. Além disso, observa-se a necessidade de ações governamentais e intersetoriais que estimulem o combate e controle da TB na Atenção Primária estimulando a criação de vínculo do paciente com a unidade de saúde. Se investigó la influencia de la presencia de borras durante el reposo del vino base sobre algunos compuestos volátiles en el pisco, como: ácido acético, alcoholes superiores, ésteres y acetaldehído. Dos fracciones de vino base seco (con y sin borras) se almacenaron por cinco intervalos de tiempo: 0, 7, 20, 60, 150 días; y destiladas después. Los resultados indicaron que los piscos de vinos base con mayores tiempos de reposo presentan mayores contenidos de ácido acético (con borras: desde 0,15 g/L con 0 días de reposo hasta 0,30 g/L con 60 días de reposo y 0,69 g/L con 150 días de reposo; sin borras: desde 0,14 g/L con 0 días de reposo hasta 0,26 g/L con 150 días de reposo), propanol (con borras: desde 72,15 mg/100 mL A.A.c con 0 días de reposo hasta 105,34 mg/100 mL A.A. con 150 días de reposo), acetato de etilo (con borras: desde 22,00 mg/100 mL A.A. con 0 días de reposo hasta 43,10 mg/100 mL A.A. con 150 días de reposo) y acetato de iso-amilo (con borras: desde 0,00 mg/100 mL A.A. con 0 días de reposo hasta 10,57 mg/100 mL A.A. con 150 días de reposo); y menores contenidos de acetaldehído (con borras: desde 22,71 mg/100 mL A.A. con 0 días de reposo hasta 4,29 mg/100 mL A.A. con 60 días de reposo y 3,30 mg/100 mL A.A. con 150 días de reposo; sin borras: desde 16,98 mg/100 mL A.A. con 0 días de reposo hasta 4,30 mg/100 mL A.A. con 150 días de reposo). Los piscos destilados de vinos base con borras presentan mayores cantidades de acetato de etilo (22,00 vs. 16,61 mg/100 mL A.A.) y acetaldehído (22,71 vs. 16,98 mg/100 mL A.A.), que sus destilados de vinos base sin borras, con 0 días de reposo.

Este artigo retrata a convivência dos Semitas no Egito durante c. 9 séculos. Os egípcios e semitas se originaram do Sudeste da Etiópia em c. 8000 A.E.C. e se encontram como povos distintos em c. 3100 A.E.C.. Houve a primeira migração semítica de Hicsos e cananeus no Alto Egito em c. 1980 A.E.C. Durante a ascensão da 13ª Dinastia em c. 1803 A.E.C., tem a 14ª Dinastia semítica como rival, e ambas sucumbem à crise egípcia, quando os Hicsos sobem ao poder em c. 1649 A.E.C., que governam até 1550 A.E.C., sendo aproveitados no desenvolvimento da 18ª Dinastia. Em c. 1457 A.E.C., houve nova migração levantina principalmente no Baixo Egito, e envolvimento da elite egípcia com a cultura semítica expresso pelos seus deuses, o que durou até o colapso no Egito (c. 1175 – 1133 A.E.C.) ao perder a administração do Levante para a guerra, levando à sua não-atratividade política e econômica.

Competence is the ability of an individual to carry out a job correctly and has an advantage based on matters relating to knowledge, expertise, and attitude.This study aims to determine the effect of competencies, organizational culture, and organizational commitment on job satisfaction and its impact on employee performance at PT. Haji La Tunrung A.M.C in Makassar. The approach in this study is a quantitative. The population in this study were all employees at the company PT. Haji La Tunrung A.M.C. amounting to 48 people. The method of data collection is done using observations and questionnaires. Data were analyzed using path analysis. The results of this study indicate that (1) Competence has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction in the company PT. Haji La Tunrung A.M.C in Makassar. (2) Organizational culture has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction in the company PT. Haji La Tunrung A.M.C in Makassar. (3) Organizational commitment has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction in the company PT. Haji La Tunrung A.M.C in Makassar. At national as well as international level the South African Freedom Charter has become a symbol of the long-standing struggle against apartheid. In this essay the emphasis will be on the charter's provisions relating to ethnicity. The question of ethnicity is a crucial one, for on its solution depends the outcome of the economic and other social problems which trouble South African society.The 1955 Freedom Charter, which was the outcome of a joint venture of the African National Congress (A.N.C.), the South African Indian Congress, the South African Coloured People's Organisation and the predominantly European South African Congress of Democrats, suggests a unitary, participatory welfare state, which will acccord equal rights to all “national groups and races”.For the A.N.C., the senior partner in the “Congress Alliance”, the reference in the charter to “national groups and races” soon became a major headache. Could it be said that the charter lent support to the creation of “four nations”? A number of people within the A.N.C. feared that much. Abstract Numerous research works indicate that staying in a hyperbaric environment is a stressor. We have undertaken studies using an animal model to determine the effect of hyperbaria on adrenocortical secretion and the level of adrenal ascorbic acid (a.a.a.). The research was conducted on 70 male hooded rats, which were divided into groups and subjected to hyperbaric air and oxygen at an overpressure of 1 and 3 atn, with some of the animals being additionally burdened with physical effort (swimming). It was found that short-term exposures (30 minutes) of rats to hyperbaric conditions caused a decrease in the content of a.a.a. With a prolonged (3-hour) exposure to 3 atm air the a.a.a. content returns to a normal level. A reduction in the a.a.a. content indicates the presence of stress in hyperbaric conditions in the rat, however, it does not allow to determine its intensity with the method used in the study.

This study aims to identify the impact of the application of Activity Based Costing (A.B.C.) in the pricing of banking services in the Jordanian commercial banks, and to achieve the objectives of this study a questionnaire was designed and analyzed by (SPSS) program, was used descriptive statistics mean, standard deviation and percentages, as well as use the T-test to test the hypothesis of the study. One of the most important results of the study that the (A.B.C.) system helps in pricing and in compute cost of the banks services.The study recommended that it has to update the hardware and software to suit the (A.B.C.) system, as well as the need to train workers in the Jordanian commercial banks in supervisory positions for the application and implementation of the (A.B.C.) system to help in operations costing and pricing of banking services.

A determinação volumétrica do infarto cerebral agudo (IC) tem importantes implicações prognósticas e terapêuticas. Foram estudadas e comparadas três técnicas de determinação do volume do IC agudo (técnica computadorizada, planimetria linear e fórmula A.B.C/2) em 27 doentes usando imagens de TC sem contraste realizadas à internação (primeiras 48 horas de evolução). As aferições foram feitas por dois observadores independentes, sendo determinado o coeficiente de correlação intraclasse (CCI). Os três métodos mostraram alta inter-relação para determinação do volume do IC. A planimetria linear e a fórmula A.B.C/2 exibiram alto grau de correlação com o método computadorizado, com CCIs de 0,94 a 0,95 e 0,835 a 0,90, respectivamente. A planimetria linear e a fórmula referida também apresentaram alta inter-relação, com CCI entre 0,97 e 0,99. O método computadorizado de aferição deve ser recomendado onde disponível. A planimetria linear e a fórmula A.B.C/2 também exibem, entretanto, alta confiabilidade. A fórmula A.B.C/2 pode ser utilizada rotineiramente na determinação volumétrica do IC por ser método de baixo custo, rápida realização, larga aplicabilidade e grande utilidade potencial.

A study has been carried out during the 2001 ripening period with Tempranillo variety grafted onto 110R, in order to know the productive and qualitative differences provoked by different geographic locations in the region of Castilla y León (Spain), through experimental plots located on the West side of the Duero river valley, in the Apellation of Origin (A.O.C.) Ribera del duero, and on the East side, in the Cigales A.O.C.The vines were head trained and 2-bud spur pruned, with a radial distribution of the spurs and 10 buds per vine. The Ribera del Duero vineyard was planted in 1987. The annual rainfall along the last 10 years has been 421 mm 3 layers can be distinguished on the soil of the trial with the following kind of textures: the first one is a loamclay- sandy soil, the second is clayey and the third one, deepest, is clayey-loam. The Cigales vineyard was planted in 1993. The annual rainfall along the last 10 years has been 399 mm 3 layers can be distinguished on the soil of the trial with the following kind of textures: the first and second layers are sandy-loam soil and the third one, deepest, is sandy-clay.The average temperature during the vegetative cycle in Cigales A.O.C. is higher than in Ribera del Duero A.O.C. On the other hand, at the beginning of the ripening period the temperatures are lower in Cigales, which together with the soil conditions have provoked a lower vegetative development and the variations on the vegetative-reproductive balance. The soil and climate conditions in the Ribera del Duero experimental plot have provoked a higher vegetative development of the vines and different characteristics of the berries with respect to the Cigales plot, probably due to a lower water stress along the vegetative cycle. The berry weight in the Cigales A.O.C. has been 25% lower than in Ribera del Duero A.O.C. The differences in berry weight were maintained along the ripening period. The vineyard conditions of the Ribera del Duero A.O.C. have allowed to obtain, for a similar yield per vine to the Cigales A.O.C., berries with higher sugar concentration and lower pH. However, the total acidity has shown statistical differences only in the first sample, becoming the results similar over the ripening period. The differences in pH are not correlated with the total acidity evolution, which could be due to the higher potassium concentration in the Cigales A.O.C, being in this case lower the total acidity of the berries.The phenolic maturity has also been affected by the soil and climate conditions, so the Ribera del Duero plot has shown a higher total polyphenols index along the ripening period than the Cigales plot. The total anthocyanins concentration maintained similar values in both plots, although the final concentration at harvest was lower in the Cigales A.O.C. The extractable anthocyanins concentration, measured by Glories method, has followed a similar evolution than the total anthocyanins in both areas of study.

Introducción. El uso inadecuado de antimicrobianos ha favorecido la aparición de microorganismos resistentes a múltiples fármacos. La prueba de detección de actividad antimicrobiana residual (A.A.R.) evita la emisión de falsos negativos en los resultados de Urocultivos y ayuda a evidenciar la efectividad del tratamiento. Objetivo: Detectar la actividad antimicrobiana residual en Urocultivos. Materiales y métodos: Estudio observacional, descriptivo, transversal, prospectivo. Se realizó un muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia en un total de 30 muestras en el periodo septiembre-octubre de 2019 para ejecutar la detección de A.A.R. en agar Müeller Hinton. Resultados: En el 43.3% de las muestras estudiadas se obtuvo un crecimiento microbiano. En el 69.3% de los Urocultivos positivos el agente causal identificado fue Escherichia coli; en el 23.0% Klebsiella pneumoniae y en el 7.7 % Proteus mirabilis. En cuanto a la detección de A.A.R., el 36.7 % presentó actividad antimicrobiana residual positiva identificando en un 72.7% a Escherichia coli, en18.2% a Klebsiella pneumoniae, y en 9.1 % a Proteus mirabilis. Conclusión: La detección de A.A.R. puede contribuir al control del uso de antibióticos; detectar A.A.R. en un Urocultivo positivo puede revelar resistencia antimicrobiana; así mismo, la presencia de A.A.R. en un Urocultivo negativo puede ser indicativo de un falso negativo. Application of the residual antimicrobial activity in urocultives Abstract Introduction. The overuse of antibiotics is related with the antimicrobial resistance. Interestingly, the residual antimicrobial activity (R A A) is an effective test to identify the false negative results in urine cultures. Furthermore, this test is efficient to demonstrate the effectiveness of the treatment. Objective: identify the residual antimicrobial activity in urine cultures. Materials and methods: Observational, descriptive, cross-sectional, prospective study. A non-probability sampling was applicated for convenience and 30 samples were analyzed in in the period of September - October 2019 to detect RAA on Müeller Hinton agar. Results: our findings demonstrate that the microbial growth was observed in the 43.3% of total samples. Interestingly, the Escherichia coli was identified in the 69.3% of positive urine cultures. Meanwhile, Klebsiella pneumoniae (23.0%) and Proteus mirabilis (7.7%) were also identify. Similarly, the detection of RAA showed a 36.7% of positive residual antimicrobial activity and the microorganisms detected were: Escherichia coli (72.7%); Klebsiella pneumoniae (18.2%) and Proteus mirabilis (9.1%). Conclusion: The detection of RAA is effective to control the use of antibiotics. In a similar way, the detect of RAA in a positive urine culture is indicative of antimicrobial resistance.

The genus Gossypium has important ethnobotanical and economic value for Amazonian Native Communities (A.N.C.). However, little research has been undertaken on the distribution and genetic diversity of cotton populations maintained in the Peruvian rainforest. This work aims to present the first report on the genetic diversity of Gossypium spp. populations in the A.N.C. of the province of La Convención, Cusco-Peru. The methodology was based on exploring, collecting, identifying, and characterizing the Gossypium populations present in the A.N.C. Twenty-six descriptors were evaluated (9 quantitative and 17 qualitative), and with this information, distribution, correlation, and principal component (PC) analyses were carried out. As a result, plants of two species [G. barbadense L. (44 samples) and G. hirsutum L. (19 samples)], one variety [G. barbadense var. brasiliensis (75 samples)], and three previously unidentified variations (9 samples) were identified. Altogether, 147 samples were collected. G. barbadense var. brasiliensis, which was always found in association with other economic crops within an altitude range of 338 to 1086 m, was the most predominant (51%), distributed in eleven A.N.C. and always in small plots (up to 2 ha). G. barbadense L. was cultivated between 397 and 1137 m of altitude in eight A.N.C. in plots of up to 3 ha in marginal lands. G. hirsutum L., with a smaller distribution (13%), was found between 334 and 497 m of altitude in only three communities; this species is cultivated in marginal areas throughout the year. The variability found for the first two PCs when considering the quantitative and qualitative descriptors was high (74.7%) and moderate (48.2%), respectively. When combining all the descriptors, the analysis showed that the first two PCs accounted for 51.8% of the total variability of the data. The PCs of the two types of data and their combination confirmed that the three populations found were grouped. The nine undefined samples were close to or intermediate between the described ones, showing that these samples may be the result of spontaneous crosses; as such, these samples need to be better evaluated with other tools for further definition. The information obtained shows that in the A.N.C. of Cusco-Peru, there is variability conserved by the inhabitants, who have been able to maintain and use these genotypes, even from their Amazonian indigenous ancestry, and the environment has been able to generate variability among the species, as will be highlighted in future works.

Este artigo apresenta as investigações de Carman (2017), que demonstram a data de 5 de março de 193 A.E.C., ou um mês anomalístico antes como sendo a última vez que a manivela do Mecanismo de Anticítera foi acionada, algum tempo antes do naufrágio. Para argumentar sua proposta este pesquisador considerou duas datas - ambas correspondentes ao ano de 205 A.E.C., - já obtidas a partir dos dados analisados nos mostradores posteriores do aparato; Metônico (parte superior) e Saros (parte inferior), alguns ponteiros identificados por tomografias computadorizadas, e restos de alguns dos fragmentos para fundamentar sua investigação.

In the preceding paper (Part I) we described the preparation of 10 model TTT and TTC cyclopentadecatrienes. Their conversion to A.B.C.[6.6.7] tricyclic products via a transannular Diels–Alder (TADA) reaction and the analysis of the resulting diastereoselection along with proofs of structures are described in the present article (Part II). The required temperature of reaction was significantly higher (~100 °C) in comparison to that required for the 14-membered lower homologs, indicating that proximity effects are playing a key role in the TADA reaction. The presence of ester groups in the chain was found to favor either of the two possible transition states (endo or exo) on the basis of steric effects, thus controlling the TST/CSC ratio of tricycles from TTC macrocycles, and the TAC/CAT ratio from TTT macrocycles. A formyl substituent on the dienophile can further influence the diastereoselection through the hypothesis of unsymmetrical transition states and allowed, for the first time, the use of Lewis acids as catalysts in the TADA reaction. This investigation demonstrates a general methodology for the stereocontrolled synthesis of A.B.C.[6.6.7] tricycle structures related to several polycyclic natural products. Se trabaja con un corpus de 80 pasajes, extraídos de la poesía amorosa acadia (La amante fiel, Yo seré tu esclava, ca. 2000-1500 a.e.c.), la elegía amorosa latina (Elegías de Tibulo, Elegías de Propercio, Amores de Ovidio; ca. 50-1 a.e.c.) y la lírica amorosa sánscrita (Centuria de amor de Bhartṛhari, ca. s. IV e.c.; Cien poemas de amor de Amaru, ca. s. VII e.c.; Los cincuenta poemas del amor furtivo de Bilhaṇa, ca. s. XI e.c.). Se propone la posibilidad de una influencia acadia en la versión grecolatina del tópico, así como la posibilidad de una subsecuente influencia de la última en la poesía amorosa en lengua sánscrita.

AbstractWe consider a random graph model that was recently proposed as a model for complex networks by Krioukov et al. (2010). In this model, nodes are chosen randomly inside a disk in the hyperbolic plane and two nodes are connected if they are at most a certain hyperbolic distance from each other. It has previously been shown that this model has various properties associated with complex networks, including a power-law degree distribution and a strictly positive clustering coefficient. The model is specified using three parameters: the number of nodes N, which we think of as going to infinity, and $\alpha, \nu > 0$, which we think of as constant. Roughly speaking, $\alpha$ controls the power-law exponent of the degree sequence and $\nu$ the average degree. Earlier work of Kiwi and Mitsche (2015) has shown that, when $\alpha \lt 1$ (which corresponds to the exponent of the power law degree sequence being $\lt 3$), the diameter of the largest component is asymptotically almost surely (a.a.s.) at most polylogarithmic in N. Friedrich and Krohmer (2015) showed it was a.a.s. $\Omega(\log N)$ and improved the exponent of the polynomial in $\log N$ in the upper bound. Here we show the maximum diameter over all components is a.a.s. $O(\log N),$ thus giving a bound that is tight up to a multiplicative constant.

Sexual infidelity (S.I) is one of the world’s intractable problems. It adversely affects the sanctity of family which is the basic unit of human society. Decades of deliberate and strategic policies to mitigate S.I have not yielded considerable concrete results. This is despite multidimensional approach from the church, state, and non-governmental organizations. Arguably, in the endeavor to ensure believers are sanctioned against unprecedented rates of S.I, Africa Inland Church –Kenya (A.I.C-K)has established Christian Education programs designed to address developmental needs (formative, teenage, and adulthood) of all adherents. Despite church’s effort to eradicate S.I among her married members, the problem still persists. The research sought to examine factors influencing S.I. in A.I.C-K. This study is grounded on the premise that morality marks an essential ingredient in society, especially in the family institution; hence, without family values, society would be disrupted and eventually collapse. The article is justified by the need for the church to regain her moral authority as the conscience of the society. Descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. Simple random and purposive sampling methods were used to choose a sample size of the requisite number of respondents. Key findings revealed that inadequate preparation before wedding, marital dissatisfaction, and geographical migration were among highly rated causes of sexual infidelity in A.I.C-K.

ABSTRAK Wayang merupakan karya adiluhung Bangsa Indonesia yang dapat dikembangkan dari berbagai sisi, salah satunya adalah wujud visual wayang yang diterapkan pada karya lukis kaca. Retno Lawiyani adalah seniman lukis kaca yang menggunakan wayang purwa sebagai ide gagasan dalam setiap karya lukis kacanya. Ide gagasan tersebut sangat menarik untuk diteliti, terkhusus dari sisi estetikanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendiskripsikan 1) latar belakang kekaryaan Retno Lawiyani, 2) proses kreatif Retno Lawiyani pada karya lukis kaca, 3) wujud visual lukis kaca Retno Lawiyani. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif yang menghasilkan data diskriptif analisis, dengan alur pengumpulan data, reduksi data, analisis data, dan simpulan. Objek penelitian adalah 5 karya lukis kaca Retno Lawiyani yang dipilih menggunakan tekhnik purposive sampling. Jenis pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan biografi, pendekatan kreativitas, dan pendekatan estetika menurut teori A.A.M Djelantik. Menurut A.A.M Djelantik, terdapat 3 unsur estetika yaitu wujud/rupa, bobot/isi, dan penampilan, ketiga unsur tersebut kemudian digunakan untuk menganalisis karya lukis kaca Retno Lawiyani.Kata kunci : lukis kaca, wujud visual, ornamentik. ABSTRACTWayang is a valuable work of the Indonesian people that can be developed from various sides, one of which is a visual form of wayang which is applied to glass painting. Retno Lawiyani is a glass painting artist who uses wayang purwa as an idea in each of her glass painting works. The ideas are very interesting to study, especially in terms of aesthetics. This study aims to describe 1) thebackground of Retno Lawiyani's work, 2) Retno Lawiyani's creative process in glass painting, 3) the visual form of Retno Lawiyani's glass painting. This study uses qualitative research methods that produce descriptive analysis data, with data collection flow, data reduction, data analysis, and conclusions. The research objects were 5 Retno Lawiyani's glass paintings which were selected use of technique purposive sampling. The type of approach used is the biography approach, creativity approach, and aesthetic approach according to A.A.M Djelantik's theory. According to A.A.M Djelantik, there are 3 aesthetic elements, namely appearance, weight / content, and appearance, these three elements are then used to analyze Retno Lawiyani's glass painting.Keywords : painted glass , a form of visual, ornamental.

– It is necessary to check the quality of the expense for the production of “public good health” and find elements of evaluation and control whereby results may be compared, also considering the medicines used and the expenses incurred. Universally-accepted standard parameters allow analogous situations to be compared. In the case of epidemiological and pharmaceutical-economic research the accepted parameters are: medicine classification according to the A.T.C. (anatomic - therapeutic - chemical) method and assessment of the exposure to medicines of a group or population, according to the D.D.D. (defined dose per day) method. From February to March and September to October 1995, the men's section of the urology ward was evaluated in relation to “G04 AB” medicines, analysed in the 5th level according to the A.T.C. method. The working method is standardised and although not absolute, enables pharmaco-economic evaluations to be made between work groups with similar situations. Furthermore, despite not being complete in itself, it could become a system of external quality control.

Classes of ring including strongly prime, semi-Artinian rings and those with no middle class are characterized using this functor: a ring R is semi-simple or right strongly prime if and only if for any right R-module M, iM(R) = R or 0, extending a result of Rubin; R is a right QI-ring if and only if R has the ascending chain condition (a.c.c.) on essential right ideals and iM is a radical for each M ∈ Mod-R (the a.c.c. is not redundant), extending a partial answer of Dauns and Zhou to a long-standing open problem. Also discussed are rings close to those with no middle class.

Probably no other aspect of the South African conflict has elicited more divergent explanations and misinterpretations than the ongoing political violence. It is variously attributed to (1) de Klerk's double agenda and unreformed police; (2) a ‘third force’ of right-wing elements in the security establishment, bent on derailing the Government's negotiation agenda; (3) Inkatha–A.N.C. rivalry, engineered by ambitious Buthelezi in danger of being sidelined as an equal third party; (4) the A.N.C.'s campaign of armed struggle, ungovernability, and revolutionary intolerance; (5) ingrained tribalism, unleashed by the lessening of white repression that merely resulted in ‘black-on-black’ violence formerly held in check; (6) the legacy of apartheid in general, a ‘lost youth’ generation. Helen Suzman, for example, singled out sanctions for at least ‘part of the blame’ in her 1991 presidential address to the Institute of Race Relations, while its director, John Kane-Berman, lists all parties as having ‘bloody hands’.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the individual-level chemical accident response competency through a chemical accident response competency survey of small and medium-sized chemical companies using the developed chemical accident response competency application model. A total of 141 chemical company workers were surveyed and analyzed for results, and the average was 3.18, which was a normal level. For each item, the knowledge competency component(K.C.C.) was 3.23, and the skill competency component(S.C.C.) was 3.45, which was a normal level, but the Ability competency component(A.C.C.) was 2.87, which was measured at an insufficient level. First of all, it is necessary to provide appropriate safety education to prepare for chemical accidents. In addition, it is necessary to improve technologies competency such as handling safety equipment and operating initial response equipment to prepare for chemical accidents. In particular, the level of capability component (A.C.C) should be improved through specialized training for chemical accident response, training for handling response equipment, and safety inspection.

Este artigo tem por objetivo analisar – no contexto dos usos de testemunhos artefactuais e literários, resultados da difusão de saberes políticos e cúlticos – a iconização literária da princesa fenícia ’Îzebel, compilada na historiografia israelita. A agente cultural é a princesa fenícia e o nosso artefato são as camadas literárias de 2Reis 9, com datação entre os séculos VIII e IV A.E.C., ambientadas, inicialmente, nos contextos dos conflitos políticos no sul do Levante na segunda metade do século IX A.E.C. e, posteriormente, nos conflitos culturais do judaísmo antigo – um sinal indiciário da mudança de critério no julgamento de ’Îzebel. O julgamento, motivado pelo assassinato de um camponês, findou-se com uma condenação baseada na acusação de promover a patrono real o deus tutelar de Tiro (Șūr) Melqart. A nossa hipótese é que as interações culturais provocaram a reação de camponeses, cuja liderança apoiou a tomada de poder por parte do militar de origem rural Jehu. Contextualizaremos a narração historiográfica que compôs a imagem de ’Îzebel com as culturas iconográficas levantinas.

The transannular Diels–Alder reaction of 15-membered macrocyclic trienes with a trans-trans-cis (TTC) olefin geometry can lead to A.B.C.[6.6.7] tricyclic products of trans-syn-trans (TST) and cis-syn-cis (CSC) stereochemistry whereas the TTT isomers can produce the trans-anti-cis (TAC) and cis-anti-trans (CAT) tricycles. In order to study the influence of the position (pro-6.6 or pro-6.7) and the nature (alkyl, alkoxymethyl, or formyl) of the dienophile substituent, a set of 10 model cyclopentadecatrienes was prepared. The synthesis of appropriately functionalized trisubstituted dienophile and diene synthons, as well as their coupling reactions affording acyclic precursors, is described in this paper (first in a series of two). A mild and efficient macrocyclization protocol yielded the required methyl- or alkoxymethyl-substituted cyclic substrates. Further transformations led to the formyl-substituted ones. In particular, the TTT macrocycles containing an enal as a dienophile could be completely isomerized to the corresponding TTC thermodynamic isomers in acidic aqueous media. Background: Middle-down (MD) proteomics is an emerging approach for reliable identification of post-translational modifications and isoforms, as this approach focuses on proteolytic peptides containing > 25-30 amino acid residues (a.a.r.), which are longer than typical tryptic peptides. Such longer peptides can be obtained by AspN, GluC, and LysC proteases. Additionally, some special proteases were developed specifically to effect MD approach, e.g., OmpT, Sap9, etc. However, these proteases are expensive. Herein we report a cost-effective strategy ‘arginine modification- cum trypsin digestion’, which can produce longer tryptic peptides resembling LysC peptides derived from proteins. Objective:: The aim of this study is to obtain proteolytic peptides that resemble LysC peptides by using 'trypsin', which is a less expensive protease. Methods: This strategy is based on the simple principle that trypsin cannot act at the C-termini of those arginines in proteins, whose sidechain guanidine groups are modified by 1,2-cyclohexanedione or phenylglyoxal. Results: As a proof of concept, we demonstrate this strategy on four models: β-casein (bovine), β- lactoglobulin (bovine), ovalbumin (chick) and transferrin (human), by electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) involving hybrid quadrupole time-of-flight. From the ESI-MS of these models, we obtained several arginine modified tryptic peptides, whose lengths are in the range of 30-60 a.a.r. The collision induced dissociation MS/MS characteristics of some of the arginine modified longer tryptic peptides are compared with the unmodified standard tryptic peptides. Conclusion: The strategy demonstrated herein this proof-of-concept study is not only useful to obtain longer tryptic peptides that mimic LysC proteolytic peptides, but also facilitates in enhancing the probability of missed cleavages by the trypsin. Hence, this method aids in evading the possibility of obtaining very short peptides that are <5-10 a.a.r. Therefore, this is indeed a cost-effective alternative/ substitute for LysC proteolysis and, in turn, for those MD proteomic studies that utilize LysC. Additionally, this methodology can be fruitful for mass spectrometry-based de novo protein and peptide sequencing.

Resumo:

In the preceding paper (Part I) we described the synthesis of eight isomeric acyclic trienes. These compounds could be transformed into the corresponding macrocyclic trienes, which were further converted into tricyclic A.B.C.[6.6.6] products by a thermal transannular Diels–Alder reaction. The experimental results of this study and their analysis are reported in the present paper. The comparison with theoretical predictions is also discussed.

We are investigating field galaxy evolution with the optical multiband survey of Osmer et al. (1995, in preparation; Hall et al. 1992, Bull. A.A.S., 24, 1136), which covers some 3000 sq. arcmin of sky with CCD photometry in six broad-band filters from 3000-10000Å, complete down to R∼23. The sample contains some 9000 cataloged galaxies, of which 7000 have data in at least three colors.
