Resumo:

This work deals with a coupled system of viscoelastic wave equation of infinite memory with mixed Dirichlet-Neumann boundary conditions. The coupling is via the acoustic boundary conditions on a portion of the boundary. The semigroup theory is used to show the well-posedness and regularity of the initial and boundary value problem. Resumo:

In this paper we propose an input-to-state stability (ISS) criterion for continuous–time systems based on a finite–time decrease condition for a positive definite function of the norm of the state. This yields a so–called ISS finite–time Lyapunov function, which allows for easier choice of candidate functions compared to standard ISS Lyapunov functions. An alternative converse ISS theorem in terms of ISS finite– time Lyapunov functions is also provided. Moreover, we prove that ISS finite–time Lyapunov functions are equivalent with standard ISS Lyapunov functions using a Massera–type construction. The developed ISS framework can be utilized in combination with Sontag’s “universal” stabilisation formula to develop input–to–state stabilizing control laws for continuous–time nonlinear systems that are affine in the control and disturbance inputs, respectively. Resumo:

Abstract Conventional resuscitation fluids reestablish tissue perfusion, but they fail to prevent lethal inflammatory responses. We reasoned that ethyl pyruvate (EP) can provide a therapeutic anti-inflammatory potential to improve survival during resuscitation. Survival, organ damage, inflammatory responses and characteristic pathways were analyzed after resuscitation of hemorrhagic rodents and swine. All control rodents and swine without resuscitation died within the first 6 hrs after hemorrhage. Resuscitation with Hextend reestablished arterial blood pressure and tissue perfusion, yet 90% of the animals died within 6 hrs after hemorrhage. All the animals treated with 50 mM EP survived hemorrhage. EP prevented systemic inflammation and improved survival in a concentration dependent manner. Unlike Hextend, resuscitation with EP ablated TNF and HMGB1 production, preserved the intestinal epithelium, and prevented bacterial endotoxin in the serum. From a molecular perspective, EP inhibited NF-kB and PARP activation without affecting IKBa activation in major organs and culture of macrophages. USAMRMC#05308004, AHA06352230N, NIH-GM084125.

Resumo:

Diabetes melitus merupakan penyakit degeneratif kronis yang apabila tidak ditangani dengan tepat, lama kelamaan bisa timbul berbagai komplikasi, ini cenderung menyebabkan pasien mendapatkan banyak obat dalam satu resep yang dapat menimbulkan interaksi antar obat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui persentase terjadinya interaksi obat metformin secara teori serta mengkaji efek yang mungkin timbul dan solusinya. Teknik pengambilan data dengan purpossive sampling, yaitu resep pasien rujuk balik yang menderita diabetes mellitus yang menggunakan metformin. Data yang diperoleh ditemukan bahwa obat yang berinteraksi dengan metformin dengan tingkat keparahan minor ialah sebesar 60%. Kemudian untuk tingkat keparahan moderat ialah sebesar 20%. Sedangkan untuk tingkat keparahan mayor tidak ditemukan. Dari tabel diatas juga dapat diketahui bahwa terdapat 4 obat yang saling berinteraksi dengan metformin, sedangkan untuk obat yang tidak saling berinteraksi dengan metformin terdapat 9 obat. Jumlah obat yang berinteraksi secara teori sebesar 6,85% dan yang tidak berinteraksi 93,15%. Terdapat interaksi obat metformin dengan beberapa obat yaitu furosemid, lisinopril, acarbose dan ramipril. Kata kunci: interaksi obat, metformin, diabetes mellitus STUDY OF METFORMIN INTERACTION IN MELLITUS DIABETES PATIENTS ABSTRACT Mellitus is a chronic degenerative disease which if not handled properly, over time can arise various complications, this tends to cause patients to get many drugs in one recipe that can cause interactions between drugs. The purpose of this study is to determine percentage of metformin drug interactions in theory and examine the effects that may arise and solutions. Data collection techniques using purposive sampling, which is a recipe for reconciliation patients who suffer from diabetes mellitus using metformin. The data obtained it was found that drugs that interact with metformin with minor severity were 60%. Then for moderate severity is 20%. Whereas the major severity was not found. From the table above it can also be seen that there are 4 drugs that interact with metformin, while for drugs that do not interact with metformin there are 9 drugs. The number of drugs that interacted theoretically was 6.85% and 93.15% did not interact. An interaction of the drug metformin with several drugs namely furosemide, lisinopril, acarbose and ramipril. Abstract Clinical studies suggest that activated C3, an early product of complement activation which can be triggered by infectious or environmental agents, is associated with more severe autoimmune thyroiditis, but few studies have illuminated mechanisms responsible for this observation. Animal models show that the severity of autoimmune thyroiditis is associated with late complement components, such as C5, and genetic susceptibility at the I-Ak sublocus. To elucidate additional complement-mediated effects on autoimmune thyroiditis we induced thyroiditis in I-Ak positive CBA/J and C5-deficient A/J mice with and without cobra venom factor which would activate the alternative complement pathway. A/J mice as a group developed less severe thyroiditis than CBA/J mice (p < 0.001). Surprisingly, female A/J mice developed less thyroiditis than males (p < 0.01) and had lower serum C3 levels (p < 0.05) during thyroiditis induction while thyroiditis and C3 in male A/J was not different from CBA/J mice. Cobra venom factor increased serum C3 levels, TNFα and thyroiditis but not intra-thyroid C3 deposition in A/J females suggesting that systemic complement activation increased thyroiditis in these mice. Our studies suggest that C3 activation promotes experimental thyroiditis in less susceptible A/J females, and may reveal one mechanism by which infections or other environmental agents promote autoimmune thyroiditis in patients.

Purpose: The aim of this study is to access the correlation of Moragas manouver and arthroscopic findings, in the diagnosis of lateral meniscal injury, and to know the imagenologic findings and comparison with arthroscopic results. Methods: 474 arthroscopic procedures were performed with meniscal injuries between 2005-2013. 142 are lateral meniscus lesions (male=94, female=58) by clinical evaluation, average age= 34.4 years old (15-58). MRI was performed in 73 cases, what allowed correlate findings clinical imaging. All clinical tests were realized by the same clinician. Results: Of the 142 patients, 136 were pure external meniscus injuries, (95.77%), 3 were colateral ligament lesions, 1 was a parameniscal cyst, 1 was popliteus tendinosis and 1 was normal. Of 73 cases with MRI evaluation, 68 were a pure lateral meniscal lesions (93.15%), 2 were partial colateral ligament lesions, 1 was popliteus tendinosis, 1 was iliotibial band friction syndrome and 1was lateral condyle avascular necrosis. The comparison between MRI findings and arthroscopic procedure they had no statistical significance. p< 0.0025 Conclusion: The Moragas manouver has a high sensitivity diagnosed for lateral meniscal injury, and the imagenologic correlation with arthroscopic findings was minor in this study (95.77% v/s 93.15%). Discussion: A correct clinic examination and semiologic tests are still important to clinical diagnosis in orthopedics.

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan keterampilan berbicara siswa dengan menggunakan metode debat di kelas VI MIN 2 OKU Timur. Jenis penelitian adalah PTK, pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian 27 siswa kelas VI MIN 2 OKU Timur. Perencanaan siklus I memperoleh persentase sebesar 82,14%, siklus II 92,85%. Pelaksanaan siklus I sebesar 81,25%, siklus II sebesar 95%. Keterampilan berbicara pada siklus I 78,54%, siklus II 93,15%. Dengan demikian, metode debat dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas VI MIN 2 OKU Timur.

Resumo:

X-ray powder diffraction of Nitrofurantoin C8H6N4O5 reveals that the compound crystallizes in a monoclinic unit cell with the powder data unit cell parameters of a = 7.852(2), b= 6.497(1), c = 18.927(5) Å, β=93.15(2)°, V=964.1(2) Å3. The unit cell dimensions determined by single crystal agree very well with those of powder diffraction analysis. A comparison with the Powder Diffraction File (PDF) 34-1603 indicates that the present data provide a more precise match to the unit cell, include additional weak reflections, along with the indexing of the powder pattern.

Resumo:

A multifunctional corrosion inhibitor was prepared from polyaspartic acid (PASP), sodium gluconate,zinc sulfate,hydroxyphosphonoacetic acid (HPAA) and benzotriazole (BTA). The performance of corrosion inhibition was evaluated by rotary hanging-piece corrosion tests and steady polarization. The result showed that the corrosion inhibitor was an anodic inhibitor and had good corrosion inhibition performance both on A3 carbon steel and H62 copper in seawater. The corrosion inhibition rate of A3 carbon steel was 93.15% and the corrosion inhibition rate of H62 copper was 93.55% when the concentration of corrosion inhibitor was 150 mgL-1in seawater at 40°C.

In this paper, the two time instability factors in phase change memory, amorphous resistance drift and spontaneous crystallization process, are studied based on Ti2.75(SbxTe)97.25 and Ti6.85(SbxTe)93.15. The drift coefficients of both components are calculated and compared under room temperature. The reason why the drift coefficient decreases with the Ti concentration increases is discussed based on the band structure model of amorphous phase change materials. And the data retention change trend is also presented. The experiment results and the physical explaination can also be extended to other metallic element doped SbxTe alloy phase change materials.

The purpose of this study is to describe the improvement in speaking skills of students using the debate method in class V of SDN 10 Sapiran Bukittinggi. The types of research are PTK, qualitative and quantitative approaches. The research subjects were teachers and 26 fifth grade students of SDN 10 Sapiran Bukittinggi. Planning cycle I obtained a percentage of 82.14%, cycle II 92.85%. The implementation of the first cycle was 81.25%, the second cycle was 95%. Speaking skills in cycle I 78.54%, cycle II 93.15%. Thus, the debate method can improve the speaking skills of fifth grade students of SDN 10 Sapiran Bukittinggi.

Resumo:

An experimental X-ray powder diffraction pattern was produced and analyzed for alpha-polymorphic tegafur, also called Ftorafur (an antineoplastic agent). The indexed data matched the powder patterns in the ICDD PDF-4/Organics database calculated from the reported single-crystal X-ray diffraction data in the Cambridge Structural Database. Alpha tegafur has a triclinic crystal system, with reduced cell parameters of a=16.720(6) Å, b=9.021(5) Å, c=5.995(3) Å, α=93.66(4)°, β=93.15(8)°, γ=100.14(4)°. There are four formula units contained in one unit cell. The cell volume and space group were determined to be 886.27 Å3 and P-1, respectively.

ABSTRAKGlaukoma merupakan sebuah penyakit yang menyerang indera penglihatan dan dapat mengakibatkan kebutaan yang bersifat permanen. Meskipun penyakit ini tidak bisa disembuhkan, tetapi gejala kerusakannya dapat diminimalkan dengan melakukan pendeteksian secara dini. Deteksi glaukoma dapat dilakukan secara manual oleh oftalmologis, tetapi metode ini terbilang subyektif sebab hasil pengamatannya bergantung pada domain pengetahuan dokter, sementara di sisi lain teknik pencitraan medis modern, seperti OCT, CSLO, dan HRT berbiaya tinggi dan ketersediaan perangkatnya relatif terbatas. Pada penelitian ini, sebuah sistem berbasis machine learning untuk mendeteksi glaukoma pada citra fundus retina telah dirancang melalui proses pengolahan citra digital menggunakan metode Local Binary Pattern dan Support Vector Machine. Performansi sistem diuji pada 146 citra fundus yang terdiri dari citra fundus sehat dan glaukoma. Dengan menggunakan metode yang diusulkan, sistem mampu memberikan tingkat akurasi terbaik pada 93.15%, sensitivitas 92.30%, dan spesifisitas 93.61%.Kata kunci: Glaukoma, Local Binary Pattern, Support Vector Machine ABSTRACTGlaucoma is a disease that attacks the sense of sight and can lead to permanent blindness. Although this disease cannot be cured, the symptoms of the damage can be minimized by early detection. Glaucoma detection can be done manually by an ophthalmologist, but this method is somewhat subjective because the results of the observations depend on the domain of the doctor’s knowledge, whereas onthe other hand, modern medical imaging techniques, such as OCT, CSLO, and HRT, are high in cost and the availability of devices is relatively limited. This research proposed a machine learning-based system to detect glaucoma in retinal fundus images through digital image processing using the Local Binary Pattern and Support Vector Machine methods. The performance of the system was tested on 146 fundus images consisting of healthy fundus images and glaucoma. By using the proposed method, the system provide the best accuracy rate at 93.15%, sensitivity 92.30%, and specificity 93.61%.Keyword: Glaucoma, Local Binary Pattern, Support Vector Machine

Työssä oppimisen tutkijat joutuvat ottamaan kantaa keskenään ristiriitaisiin työelämän kehityslinjoihin. Optimistisen näkemyksen mukaan perinteiset tuotanto-organisaatiot olisivat muuttumassa haasteellisia tehtäviä tarjoaviksi.
