Breast cancer (BC) is associated with hereditary components, and some deleterious germline variants have been regarded as effective therapeutic targets. We conducted a clinic-based, observational study to better understand the distribution of deleterious germline variants and assess any clinicopathological predictors related to the variants among Chinese BC patients using a 32 cancer-related genes next-generation sequencing panel. Between November 2020 and February 2022, a total of 700 BC patients were recruited, and 13.1% (92/700) of them carried deleterious germline variants in 15 cancer-related genes, including 37 (37/700, 5.3%) in BRCA2, 29 (29/700, 4.1%) in BRCA1, 8 (8/700, 1.1%) in PALB2, 4 (4/700, 0.6%) in NBN, 3 (3/700, 0.4%) in MRE11A, 3 (3/700, 0.4%) in TP53 and 12 (12/700, 1.7%) in other genes. There were 28 novel variants detected: 5 in BRCA1, 14 in BRCA2, and 9 in non-BRCA1/2 genes. The variants in panel genes, HRR (homologous recombination repair)-related genes, and BRCA1/2 were significantly associated with the following clinicopathological factors: age at the initial diagnosis of BC, family history of any cancer, molecular subtype, Ki-67 index, and hereditary risk. In conclusion, we further expanded the spectrum of germline deleterious variants in Chinese BC patients, and the clinicopathological predictors of variants were identified to facilitate clinical genetic testing and counseling for appropriate individuals.

Abstract A MIMO dipole antenna with triple band operation for 4 G LTE femtocell is proposed. This designed dipole antenna with a regulated RL ≥ 10 dB can achieve 128/1007 MHz (18.3/39.2 %) for the LTE 700/2300/2500 MHz operating bands respectively. The measured maximum peak antenna gains and efficiencies approach 4.8/7.4 dBi and 92/88 % across 700/2300/2500 MHz bands, respectively, which cover the required bandwidth for 4 G LTE system, and the compliant unidirectional radiation patterns show in XZ- and XY-plane.

Spectra, at a dispersion of ~ 50 å per millimeter, have been obtained of BHB stars in the globular clusters M 3, M 13 and M 92 with the TV scanner on the Soviet Union's Six Meter Telescope. The spectra cover a range of 700 ångstroms in 500 channels in which counts were made of the intensity of the stellar spectrum. At this dispersion the hydrogen Balmer lines (γ, δ, ε, H8 - H12) can be seen as well as the Ca II line at λ = 3934.

Pt electrodes with a 6–8-μm thickness were produced on alumina substrates by a double-print Pt screen-printing process that included a sequential heat treatment at 600 °C and 1300 °C. This process improved the final sintered double-print film because the first printed layer acted as a sintering template for the second printed layer. The sintered Pt films have a 95% coverage of the alumina surface, 92% density, 0.73-μm average surface roughness, and 16.10−5 Ω cm resistivity. The sintering behavior of Pt films exhibited three stages of densification: Stage I (T °C < 700 °C), exhibiting neck growth, and Stage II (700 < T °C < 1300 °C), exhibiting grain growth, have activation energies of 64 kJ/mol and 125 kJ/mol, respectively. Stage III exhibits a decrease in shrinkage due to Pt coalescence and island formation. The transition temperature, 700 °C, between Stages I and II corresponds to an anomalous increase in surface roughness and resistivity. The thickness of Pt films was a critical parameter for achieving alumina surface coverage. Uniaxial pressing of dried Pt films increased densification and reduced the surface roughness of double-print Pt films.

Liquid oil waste water cause oxygen solubility and damage aquatic life. The purpose of the study: knowing the effect of distance and slope between settler plates on grease trap reactors on the elimination of oil and wastewater fats. The research method used field experiments, food service wastewater samples of as much as 250 liters with fat and oil content of 92 mg/l-152 mg/l with random sampling techniques consist of 3 treatments with 6 repetitions, namely treatment 1 (distance 1 cm-slope 500, 600, 700), treatment 2 (distance 2 cm-slope 500, 600, 700), treatment 3 (distance 3 cm-slope 500, 600, 700). There is a significant influence between distance and slope to decreased levels of oil and liquid waste fats (p-value<0.001). There is a jointly significant influence between distance and slope against the decrease in oil levels and liquid limbar fat, with a distance of 1 cm and a slope of 600 providing the largest average decrease in oil and fat content of 93.6 mg/l. Liquid waste advice PT X should be processed to prevent water pollution.

The effects of increasing nitrobenzene (NB) concentrations and hydraulic retention time (HRT) on the performance of anaerobic baffled reactor (ABR) and aerobic completely stirred tank reactor (CSTR) were studied. In the first step the NB concentration was increased from 30 to 700 mg/L at constant COD and flowrates. Maximum COD removal efficiencies in ABR varied between 88–92% as NB concentrations increased from 30 to 210 mg/L. After this dose, COD removal efficiency decreased to 85 and 79% at NB concentrations of 550 and 700 mg/L, respectively. Removal efficiencies of NB were nearly 100% for all NB concentrations in ABR reactor effluent. In the second step, COD and NB concentrations were kept constant while HRT decreased from 10.38 days to 1 day. As HRT decreased from 10.38 to 2.5 days the COD removal efficiencies in the anaerobic and anaerobic/aerobic reactor effluents were 92–94% and 97–98%, respectively. As HRT decreased from 2.5 days to 1 day COD removal efficiencies in the anaerobic and anaerobic/aerobic reactor effluents decreased to 83 and 95%, respectively. This study showed that HRT is a more important operation parameter than increasing NB concentration in ABR /CSTR sequential reactor system. Although ABR/CSTR system exhibited good COD and NB removal efficiencies, the lower HRTs slightly decreased the removal efficiencies compared to increasing NB concentration.

Background: the objective of this study is to evaluate the predictive power of the survival model using deep learning of diffusion-weighted images (DWI) in patients with non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods: DWI at b-values of 0, 100, and 700 sec/mm2 (DWI0, DWI100, DWI700) were preoperatively obtained for 100 NSCLC patients who underwent curative surgery (57 men, 43 women; mean age, 62 years). The ADC0-100 (perfusion-sensitive ADC), ADC100-700 (perfusion-insensitive ADC), ADC0-100-700, and demographic features were collected as input data and 5-year survival was collected as output data. Our survival model adopted transfer learning from a pre-trained VGG-16 network, whereby the softmax layer was replaced with the binary classification layer for the prediction of 5-year survival. Three channels of input data were selected in combination out of DWIs and ADC images and their accuracies and AUCs were compared for the best performance during 10-fold cross validation. Results: 66 patients survived, and 34 patients died. The predictive performance was the best in the following combination: DWI0-ADC0-100-ADC0-100-700 (accuracy: 92%; AUC: 0.904). This was followed by DWI0-DWI700-ADC0-100-700, DWI0-DWI100-DWI700, and DWI0-DWI0-DWI0 (accuracy: 91%, 81%, 76%; AUC: 0.889, 0.763, 0.711, respectively). Survival prediction models trained with ADC performed significantly better than the one trained with DWI only (p-values < 0.05). The survival prediction was improved when demographic features were added to the model with only DWIs, but the benefit of clinical information was not prominent when added to the best performing model using both DWI and ADC. Conclusions: Deep learning may play a role in the survival prediction of lung cancer. The performance of learning can be enhanced by inputting precedented, proven functional parameters of the ADC instead of the original data of DWIs only.

This article presents an evaluation of the thermal behavior of a hybrid (FA/OPC) and geopolymer (FA100) material. The FA100 system is based on fly ash (FA), which has an elevated content of unburned material (14.8%). The FA/OPC system is comprised of a mixture of fly ash and ordinary Portland cement (OPC) at a proportion of 80/20. The thermal performance was evaluated by several tests, such as exposure to high temperatures (up to1000°C) and direct flame resistance. In addition, the effect of cyclic exposure was studied at 700°C for 10 cycles. FA/OPC hybrid material retains 92% of its initial strength and FA100 retains 113.3% of its initial strength at 700°C. Both materials can withstand 10 exposure cycles with a strength loss of less than 45%. In direct flame exposure, a temperature gradient of about 500°C was observed. These results indicate that these types of materials could possibly be used as fire-resistant materials in civil structures.

Lanthanum and neodymium titanates were prepared by a sol-gel route. Synthesis of La2Ti2O7 from pure alkoxide precursors yielded an intermediate perovskite type phase, La(1–x)TiO3, which partially transformed to La2Ti2O7 on heating to 1500 °C. Substitution of the lanthanum acetylacetonate for alkoxide precursor yielded La2Ti2O7 without any intermediate phase at a very low temperature of 700 °C. Sintering of the La2Ti2O7 gel powder yielded a highly dense ceramic with ∼97% theoretical density. Similar sintering treatment resulted in ∼92% theoretical density for Nd2Ti2O7.

Abstract The human lymphoma cell line NK-92 has many characteristics of human natural killer cells. We have examined NK-92 activation by a full panel of human alpha Interferons (IFNs) by measuring IFN gamma secretion. We confirmed that NK-92 cells secrete IFN gamma in response to IFN alpha 2 in a dose-dependent manner. The IFN gamma response is enhanced by addition of IL-2, IL-18 or PMA, as has been seen with human donor NK cells. The EC50 for IFN alpha 2 ranges between 700–3000 pg/ml. Inclusion of IL-18 exhibited little effect on IFN potency but significant enhancement of IFN efficacy. EC50 values differ by &gt;1000 fold between the IFN subtypes. Alpha 1 demonstrated the weakest activity while alpha 10 and beta 1a were the most potent. The relative potency of the IFNs correlates well with ability to phosphorylate STAT1 and 2. When NK-92 potency is compared with antiviral activity on A549 cells and antiproliferative activity on OVCAR3 cells, there are subtle but significant differences in the rank orders of potency and potencies relative to IFN alpha 2. These studies will be extended to examination of donor NK cells, additional signal transduction pathways, and the secretion of other cyto/chemokines

Background: The nephroprotective effect of crude powder of Asgand (Withania samnifera Dunal) was studied against cisplatin induced renal toxicity in wistar albino rats of either sex. Results: The powder of Withania somnifera Dunal at dose level 700 and 1400 mg/kg body wt/day showed reduction in elevated blood urea, serum creatinine and uric acid. It was found to protect kidney damage by cisplatin induced nephrotoxicity as evidenced by oral administration of Asgand (Withania samnifera Dunal) (700 mg/kg) inhibited the rise in blood urea nitrogen (121.7%), Serum cratinine (76.64%), and uric acid (92.7%). There were 92.71% inhibition in the rise of BUN, 92% inhibition in the rise of serum creatinine and 106.6% inhibition in the rise of uric acid with 1400 mg. Conclusion: The findings suggest that the famous Unani herb Asgand Powder possesses marked nephroprotective activity and could offer a promising role in the treatment of acute renal injury caused by nephrotoxins like cisplatin. Abstract Recurrent infections are common in pts with Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia (WM) and may be related to IgA and IgG hypogammaglobulinemia. The impact of therapy and therapeutic responses on humoral immunity in WM is therefore of clinical interest. We examined IgA and IgG levels before and after therapy in 92 serially treated and responding WM patients. Their median age was 59 yrs and 70/92 (76.1%) were previously untreated. Median follow-up for all patients was 11 (range 3-134) months. Pre-therapy, 72/92 (78.2%) and 70/92 (76.1%), and post-therapy 82/92 (89.1%) and 80/92 (86.9%) pts demonstrated IgG (&lt;700 mg/dL) and IgA (&lt;70 mg/dL) hypogammaglobulinemia, respectively. The dielectric and electrostrictive properties of (1 - x) PMN−xPMW (x ⋚ 0.2) using chloride salts were investigated as a function of x. When the PMN-PMW powders were calcined at 700 °C for 1 h, the perovskite phase formed was 92%–97% at any given PMW composition (x ⋚ 0.2). With the increase of PMW content up to 0.2, the relative density of the specimens increased slightly, and the electrostrictive coefficient Q11 of the 0.8 PMN−0.2 PMW specimen increased about 6 × 10−2 m4/C2. However, the dielectric constant and electrostrictive strain of the specimens decreased despite the improved sinterability.

Inoperable stage III non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) represents a highly heterogeneous patient cohort. Multimodal treatment approaches including radiotherapy have been the new standard of care, with promising outcomes. The planning target volume (PTV), including the primary tumor, involved lymph node stations and safety margins, can vary widely. In order to evaluate the impact of the PTV for overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS) and loco-regional control, we analyzed retrospective and prospective data of 122 consecutive patients with inoperable stage III NSCLC treated with CRT. The majority of patients (93%) received a total dose ≥ 60 Gy and 92% of all patients were treated with concurrent or sequential chemotherapy. Median follow-up for the entire cohort was 41.2 (range: 3.7–108.4) months; median overall survival (OS) reached 20.9 (95% CI: 14.5–27.3) months. PTVs from 500 to 800 ccm were evaluated for their association with survival in a univariate analysis. In a multivariate analysis including age, gender, total radiation dose and histology, PTV ≥ 700 ccm remained a significant prognosticator of OS (HR: 1.705, 95% CI: 1.071–2.714, p = 0.025). After propensity score matching (PSM) analysis with exact matching for Union internationale contre le cancer (UICC) TNM Classification (7th ed.)T- and N-stage, patients with PTV < 700 ccm reached a median PFS and OS of 11.6 (95% CI: 7.3–15.9) and 34.5 (95% CI: 25.6–43.4) months vs. 6.2 (95% CI: 3.1–9.3) (p = 0.057) and 12.7 (95% CI: 8.5–16.9) (p < 0.001) months in patients with PTV ≥ 700 ccm, respectively. Inoperable stage III NSCLC patients with PTV ≥ 700 ccm had significantly detrimental outcomes after conventionally fractionated CRT. PTV should be considered as a stratification factor in multimodal clinical trials for inoperable stage III NSCLC.

Uma nova espécie, Spongia (Heterofibria) catarinensis, é descrita para a Ilha das Aranhas (27º29'077''S, 48º21'380''W), Estado de Santa Catarina, Brasil. Difere das outras espécies do gênero do Atlântico sudoeste pela morfologia externa e arquitetura. A nova espécie é caracterizada por apresentar forma massiva, incrustante com projeções lobulares; fibras primárias medindo 60-100 µm; fibras secundárias 11,5-69 µm; fibras pseudoterciárias 2,3-23 µm e distância entre fibras primárias 391-920 µm; distância entre fibras secundárias/pseudoterciárias 92-575 µm; fibras secundárias/pseudoterciárias constituindo malhas poligonais com 30-700 µm de diâmetro. A espécie pertence ao subgênero Heterofibria Cook & Bergquist, 2001 por apresentar uma clara dicotomia de suas fibras.

Ca8Mg7Si9N22 crystallizes in a tetragonal space group P42/nmc (No. 137) with a unit cell of a = 7.3271(11) Å and c = 10.336(2) Å. Ca8Mg7Si9N22:Eu2+ shows a narrow-band blue emission peaking at 400 nm with an intriguing bandwidth ∼34 nm and shows remarkably high thermal quenching resistance, maintaining 92% photoluminescence emission intensity at 420 K and 75% at 700 K of that measured at room temperature.

The solid electrolyte Li3Ti1.5(PO4)3 compound has been synthesized by solid state reaction and studied by X-ray diffraction. At room temperature the compound belongs to rhombohedral symmetry (space group R3 ̅c) with six formula units in the unit cell. Li3Ti1.5(PO4)3, Li3xLa2/3–xTiO3 (where x = 0.12) Li+-ion conducting, Ce0.8Gd0.2O1.9, (ZrO2)92(Y2O3)8 with fast oxygen vacancy transport ceramic samples were investigated in the frequency range from 1 Hz to 3 GHz in the temperature interval (300-700) K by impedance spectroscopy methods. Two dispersion regions in ionic conductivity spectra for investigated ceramic samples have been found. The dispersions have been attributed to relaxation processes in grain boundaries and in grains of the ceramics.

Rare earth Gd2Zr2O7 ceramic was prepared by spark plasma sintering from Gd2O3 and ZrO2 powders. The powders were sintered at 1400°C for 10min. The synthesized ceramic was annealed at 800°C for 2h under air atmosphere. XRD structural and SEM microstructural characterization showed the formation of a single phase material with pyrochlore crystal structure. The relative density of Gd2Zr2O7 ceramic was measured by the Archimedes method with an immersion medium of water and the results revealed that the relative density of the ceramic was 92%. The thermal conductivity of the ceramic was tested by laser flash method from room temperature to 700°C. The result shows the thermal conductivity of Gd2Zr2O7 ceramic is lower than that of 7YSZ.

The effect of mechanical alloying (MA) on the solid state reaction of hematite and graphite system with a positive reaction heat was investigated using a mixture of elemental Fe2O3–C powders. The solid state reduction of hematite to Fe3O4 has been obviously observed after 3 hours of MA by a vibrating ball mill. A two-phase mixture of Fe3O4 and remaining Fe2O3 is obtained after 5 hours of MA. Saturation magnetization gradually increases with MA time due to the formation of Fe3O4 and then reaches 23 emu/g after 5 hours of MA. In addition, a Fe3O4 single phase is obtained by MA after 3 hours and subsequently heat treated up to 700°C. X-ray diffraction result shows that the average grain size of Fe3O4 prepared by MA for 5 hours and heat treatment to be in the range of 92 nm. The saturation magnetization of Fe3O4 prepared by MA and heat treatment reaches a maximum value of 56 emu/g for 5 hours MA sample. It is also observed that the coercivity of 5 hours MA sample annealed at 700 °C is still high value of 113 Oe, suggesting that the grain growth of magnetite phase during annealing process tends to be suppressed.

AbstractBackground and purposeAchieving daily consistent bladder volume is acknowledged as challenging for patients undergoing radiotherapy to the cervix or endometrium. We investigated if use of an ultrasound bladder volume scanner (BioCon-700) improves bladder reproducibility when used during an active volume correction protocol.Materials and methodsDuring our method-comparison study, prospectively recruited patients (n=20) followed a fluid-loading protocol to achieve acceptable bladder volume. Bladder ultrasound was performed daily to verify planned volume, with patients actively correcting volumes outside a planned range up to a maximum of three times. Using the Bland–Altman method, we compared mean ultrasound readings (USMean) with mean cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) volumes (CBCTMean). We also conducted staff focus groups exploring issues encountered during implementation of bladder scanning.ResultsComparing USMean with CBCTMean produced a mean of the differences −10±49·92 mL (1 SD), demonstrating that bladder volume scanning is equivalent to our standard measure for the stated confidence levels. The cohort mean bladder volume decrease from week 1 to 5 was only 8·4%. Mean USMean was 323 mL, mean CBCTMean was 313 mL. Staff experience with the scanner overall was positive.ConclusionsThe BioCon-700 is suitable for the purpose of daily pre-treatment volume verification, facilitating daily assessment and modification of bladder volume, resulting in reproducible treatment volumes.

Severe mitral regurgitation due to prolapse of the valve demands early surgical intervention. Recently artificial chord implantation is the prefered solution, which requires cardioplegia and application of cardiopulmonary bypass using the left atrial approach. Transoesophageal echocardiography guided transapical neochord implantation is an emerging new technique for the treatment of mitral regurgitation. It enables the operation through left minithoracotomy on beating heart using a special instrument introduced into the left ventricle. Acute procedural success rates in different centres vary between 86 and 100%. According to reports, 92% of the patients do not require additional intervention at the 3-month follow-up. Continuous integration of data resulting improved outcomes supports the hope that this novel, less-invasive technique will be applied widely for the treatment of mitral regurgitation. Orv. The paper describes a specifically developed novel samarium cobaltate/silicon carbide composite that transforms into a high-performance carbon-resistant catalyst for dry reforming of methane into syngas (DRM). This 30%SmCoO3/70%SiC composite without hydrogen prereduction was tested in DRM at atmospheric pressure and GHSV 15 L g–1 h–1 (of an equimolar CH4–CO2 mixture). During the test, the yields of hydrogen and carbon monoxide reached 92 and 91 mol %, respectively, at 900°C, and 20 and 28 mol % at 700°C. Using XRD, TGA, and SEM examination, zero carbonization of the catalyst surface was demonstrated. It was found that, in the course of DRM, the initial composite transformed into a material that contained silicon carbide, samarium silicate, and samarium oxide, as well as metallic cobalt nanoparticles (20 nm).

Cu-12 wt.%Al (Cu-12Al) alloy fabricated by continuous unidirectional solidification (CUS) process has high elasticity, high strength, high conductivity, high plasticity and other good comprehensive properties, which has a potential to develop into a high-performance elastic material as the alternative to beryllium bronze. Especially, the room temperature tensile elongation of the columnar-grained structure (CGS) Cu-12Al alloy with high <001>β orientation along the axial direction exceeded 20%, which is six times more than that of the ordinary polycrystalline structure (OPS) Cu-12Al alloy (ε=2-4%) fabricated by traditional casting. The CGS Cu-12Al alloy shows lower flow stress and work-hardening rate during plastic deformation, which determines a dramatic improvement of workability comparing with the OPS alloy. In the present paper, both the effects of the rolling process and its parameters on the microstructure and properties of the CGS Cu-12Al alloy sheets were investigated. The results showed that the CGS sheets (σb=310 MPa, ε=19%) have the maximum reduction of 80% and remain columnar-grained structure after the first rolling pass at 700. After deformation the tensile strength was 401 MPa and the tensile elongation approached to 14%. Then, the hot rolled sheets were rolled again through the second pass at 325 and 700, respectively. The maximum reduction of CGS sheets at 325 warm rolling was 20%, the sheets remain columnar-grained structure and β1'α1' martensitic phase transformation occured; The second pass hot-rolling at 700 showed that the maximum reduction exceeded 60%, and the recrystallization occured in the sheets. After two passes of hot-rolling (total deformation was 92%), although the recrystallization occured, the CGS sheets remained columnar-grained structure (CGS) high tensile elongation (8.3%), which is two times more than that of the as-cast OPS sheets, and is five times as much as the OPS sheets with the same total deformation.

Utah was prime beach country in its central to eastern portion during the Middle to Late Cretaceous (70 to 92 million years ago). At this time, a long shallow sea extended from the Artic to the Gulf of Mexico and from central Utah east to beyond Kansas. Scores of ancient beach deposits that represent the shoreline along this seaway are exposed in the eastern half of Utah. This paper will guide you to one of these white sandy beaches that dominated central Utah during this time period. The site is located near a developed archeological site (Rochester panel, Smithsonian site number 42EM392). The Rochester panel is dissimilar to other Fremont culture images and likely dates between A.D. 500 to A.D. 700 (Loendorf, 1985). Four annual clovers (Arrowleaf (Trifolium versiculosum), balansa (T. michelianum), Persian (T. resupinatum) and gland (T. glanduliferum)) were sown on five East Coast dryland farms and one moist Taranaki site. Hardseededness was measured at all sites and seed production and hardseededness was measured at three sites following different closing dates. There were no differences in seed size for any species between sites or closing dates. High levels of seed (500-700 kg/ha) were set by balansa and arrowleaf clovers after an early closing date (early September). Flowering and seed production decreased with later closings. Gland clover was the earliest to flower and with Persian clover was very susceptible to early grazing. Gland clover produced virtually no seed as flowers had already been grazed prior to the first closing. Arrowleaf clover produced very high levels (>92%) of hard seed and Persian very low levels (

The Twin Wire Arc Spray (TWAS) is one of the most widely used types of thermal spray coating because of its low cost, high efficiency and can also be used for mass production. However, heat treatment after the Fe-based amorphous coating process uses the TWAS method on pump impellers made of 304 stainless steel are not well documented. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of post heat treatment after FeCrBMnSi coating with the TWAS method to increase wear resistance on pump impeller materials made of 304 stainless steel. In this study, NiAl and FeCrBMnSi were used as bond coats and top coats. Before the coating process, the substrate materials were sandblasted to obtain a surface roughness of 75 - 100 µm. The coating process is carried out by setting parameters of current spraying (A), voltage spraying (V), compressed air pressure (Bar), and standoff distance (mm) each of 150; 28.4; 5; and 400. Post heat treatment was carried out at a temperature of 500°C and 700°C for 3 hours using Furnace Chamber Thermolyne F6010. Tests of thickness, microhardness (ASTM 92-82), wear rate (ASTM G99-95A), micrography (ASTM E3), SEM, and adhesive strength (ASTM D- 4541) have been completed. The results of this study indicate specimens with post-heat treatment produce a coating layer with better mechanical properties than specimens without post-heat treatment. Specimens with post-heat treatment at a temperature of 700°C for 3 hours resulted in the smallest total wear rate of 6.6x10-4 mm3/s.

Watercore and sugar content are internal qualities which are impossible for exterior determination. Therefore the aims of this study were to develop models for nondestructive detection of watercore and predicting sugar content in pear using Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIR) technique. A total of 93 samples of Asian pear variety "SH-078" were used. For sugar content, spectrum of each fruit was measured in the short wavelength region (700–1100 nm) in the reflection mode and the first derivative of spectra were then correlated with the sugar content in juice determined by digital refractometer. Prediction equation was performed by multiple linear regression. The result showed Standard Error of Prediction (SEP) = 0.58°Bx, and Bias=0.11. The result from t-test showed that sugar content predicted by NIR was not significantly different from the value analyzed by refractometer at 95% confidence. For watercore disorder, NIR measurement was performed over the short wavelength range (700–850 nm) in the transmission mode. The first derivative spectra were correlated with internal qualities. Then principle component analysis (PCA) and partial least squares discriminant analysis (PLSDA) were used to perform discrimination models. The accuracy of the PCA model was greater than the PLSDA one. The scores from PC1 were separated into two boundaries, one predicted rejected pears with 100% classification accuracy, and the other was accepted pears with 92% accuracy. The high accuracy of sugar content determining and watercore detecting by NIR reveal the high efficiency of NIR technique for detecting other internal qualities of fruit in the future.

There are several investigations on the use of food waste to remove contaminants by adsorption. However, a simple route, without chemical activation reagents, is needed for the development of adsorbents. The aim of this study was to develop an adsorbent from plantain peel, using a simple procedure, and to evaluate its capacity to remove phosphate from aqueous solutions at phosphate concentrations similar to those of water sources at risk of eutrophication (0.30 mg/L). The simple pyrolysis method was used in an electric muffle, without chemical activation, using plantain peel as precursor. The variables evaluated were pyrolysis temperature and solution pH. The specific surface area BET, zero loading point of the developed treatments, was determined. Phosphate adsorption was studied in a batch experiment in the presence of calcium ions in solution. Phosphate adsorption was favorable at all three pyrolysis temperature levels (500, 600 and 700 °C) and two solution pH levels (pH 7 and 10). the pseudo-second order kinetic model was the best fit for the experimental data to describe the adsorption mechanism. The best fit to the experimental equilibrium data was obtained with the Langmuir isotherm model. It was found that a 1 g/L dose of the adsorbent was able to reduce 92% of phosphate in water, with a removal capacity 0.14 mg/g at pH 10 and pyrolysis temperature of 700 °C. This study lays the groundwork for future research on the use of this type of adsorbent in water treatment to facilitate access to clean water for rural populations.

The development of thin-film thermal control coatings for small spacecraft is relevant. Coatings based on titanium nitride are capable of functioning in unfavorable conditions of near and deep space, due to their high resistance to the irradiation by high-energy particles. Using the reactive magnetron sputtering method, the nanostructured TiAlSiN and TiAlSiCN coatings were formed on the substrates of silicon oxide (SiO2), glass-ceramic CT-1 and single-crystalline silicon (Si(100)). A study of the electrophysical and optical properties of the formed coatings was carried out. The deposited coatings demonstrate a good reflectivity in the infrared range of spectrum (700–2000 nm), what is important for reducing the overheating of the spacecraft (SC) under the influence of the direct sunlight. In the visible range of spectrum (400–700 nm), a low level of total Rtotal reflection is observed. This is promising for satellites designed to observe the Earth’s surface. The values of solar absorption coefficients αs, emissivity coefficients ε0, ratios αs/ε0, as well as the equilibrium temperature Tр for the samples under study were obtained. The values of resistivity ρ and surface resistance R□, electron concentration N and electron mobility μ were determined. It has been discovered that TiAlSiN, TiAlSiCN films are electrically conductive: ρTiAlSiN = (92÷4260) ∙ 10–7 Ω ∙ m, ρTiAlSiCN = (51÷2360) ∙ 10–7 Ω ∙ m. It has been found that adding carbon to the coating composition reduces the resistance. The obtained nanostructured coatings of TiAlSiN nitride and TiAlSiCN carbonitride can be used as temperature control coatings for small spacecrafts.

A céria contendo 20% mol samária é um eletrólito sólido proposto para uso em células a combustível de óxido sólido que operam em temperaturas intermediárias (~500 a 700 ºC), devido sua alta condutividade iônica. Um dos fatores limitantes para isto é sua relativamente baixa sinterabilidade. Neste trabalho foram utilizados dois métodos alternativos de sinterização com a finalidade de obter amostras densas, microestrutura homogênea e tamanho de grãos controlado. Outro objetivo foi relacionar os efeitos observados na microestrutura e na densificação com a condutividade elétrica das amostras sinterizadas. Para isto foi utilizada a Ce0,8Sm0,2O1,9 comercial, conformada uniaxial e isostaticamente, e sinterizada ao ar. As amostras sinterizadas foram analisadas por diversas técnicas. Resultados de medidas da densidade aparente revelaram que ambos os métodos são eficazes para a obtenção de cerâmicas com densidade relativa superior a 92%. A condutividade elétrica dos grãos e dos contornos de grão são também similares nas diversas amostras estudadas, apesar dos tamanhos dos grãos serem diferentes.

An advanced nonlinear finite element model is developed and validated with available experimental work by Nouri, K., et al. 2021. Additionally, parametric studies are performed to evaluate the variations in concrete strength and the connector’s dimensions. The results indicate that the ultimate strength of the stiffened angle shear connector drops by 92% in 1050 °C. Comparing studies show the strength of the stiffened shear connector at 700–850 °C is equivalent to the ordinary C-shaped shear connectors. The stiffened shear connector is more ductile at elevated temperatures as compared to ambient temperatures. The shear strength raised to 66% and 159.7% by increasing the height and width of the stiffened shear connector, respectively. Furthermore, the height of the stiffened shear connector is crucial to enhance the shear strength capacity as compared to the ordinary C-shaped shear connector.

Purpose: Evaluate the pan-Canadian Oncology Symptom Triage and Remote Support (COSTaRS) open-access online tutorial. Methods: Retrospective pre-/post-test evaluation of nurses who completed the tutorial knowledge test and/or acceptability survey. The tutorial was modeled after the previously evaluated in-person workshop to prepare nurses providing cancer symptom management using COSTaRS practice guides. Results: From 2017-2021, 743 nurses completed the knowledge test and 749 nurses evaluated the tutorial. Mean knowledge score was 4.4/6 and 83% of participants achieved passing scores. Compared to pre-tutorial, nurses improved their perceived confidence in assessing, triaging, guiding patients in self-care (p<0.001), and ability to use the COSTaRS guides (p<0.001). Nurses rated the tutorial as easy to understand (95%), just the right amount of information (92%), providing new information (75%), overall good to excellent (89%), and would recommend to others (83%). Conclusions: Over 700 nurses accessed the tutorial. After completion, nurses demonstrated good knowledge and improved perceived confidence in cancer symptom management.

The mineral and chemical compositions of the Suvorov depositkaolin clay have been studied using X-ray phase and atomic emission spectrometry with induction plasma. The conditions of thermal calcination and decomposition of kaolin clay with sulfuric and hydrochloric acids are optimized: the calcination temperature is 650-700 °C; the calcination duration is 60-90 minutes. The extraction degree of Al2O3 from calcined clay into sulfuric acid solutions was 92-94%, into hydrochloric acid solutions — 76-78%. The effect of different flocculants on the separation of liquid and solid phases is investigated. It is shown that the use of polyacrylamide increases the filtration rate by 1.5—2 times. The coagulating properties of aluminum sulfate and hydroxochlorides were studied: oxidizability, color, concentration of aluminum and iron in the treated water. The tested coagulants can be effectively used in the purification of drinking and wastewater at low and high temperatures in a wide pH range of treated waters.

Abstract In this research the biodiesel from palm oil were synthesized by using magnetic solid base catalyst. The magnetic solid base catalyst was prepared by using co-precipitation method and followed by modified Stober’s method and wet impregnation method. CaO-ferrite nanometre magnetic solid base catalysts (CaO@Fe3O4/SiO2) were synthesized by loading CaO on the surface of Fe3O4 core-shell using the polymeric binder, TEOS. Under the optimized condition reactions, the catalysts were synthesized by co-precipitation and incipient wetness impregnation followed by calcination at 700 °C for 5 h. The calcined catalyst was fully characterized. The basic strength of the catalysts (H_) was first assessed using Hammett indicators, which are in range 9.8–15.0. The calcined Ca/ferrite-TEOS showed homogenous spherical shape with an apparent thickness of 92 nm. The FT-IR of CaO observed at 520 cm-1 is attributed to the Ca-O vibrations. The EDX analysis confirmed the presence of Fe, Si and Ca on the catalyst. The optimization conditions for biodiesel production have been measured. The catalyst was used 5.0 % wt. The methanol to oil ratio is 5:1, reaction time is 180 minutes and reaction was produced at 80°C. The catalyst achieved a biodiesel conversion of used palm oil (acid value 1.2) above 92 %. The catalytic activity and recovery rate of CaO@Fe3O4/SiO2 are better as compared to CaO catalyst. The properties of synthesized biodiesel have been studied and meet standard the Department of Energy Business.

In experiments at Lelystad, Netherlands in 1989 and 1991/92, Brussels sprouts (cv. Kundry) were planted at 26 700, 33 400 plants/ha on 2 May, 30 May or 27 June in 1989 and 29 April, 28 May or 8 July in 1991. Plant density had no effect or only a limited effect on crop P concentration during the growing season, and had no effect on final crop P. A delay in planting reduced final P uptake, but increased P concentration in the crop and in the sprouts at harvest. Depending on planting date, 33-50 kg P was taken up by the crop by harvest. Of this, 40-60% was removed from the field in the sprouts. There were no interactions between the effects of planting date and plant density. It is suggested that the effect of planting date on P uptake has no consequences for P fertilizer recommendations. It is also suggested that current recommended P fertilizer rates are in excess of the amount of P harvested in the sprouts.

This paper describes a genetic analysis of 20000 weighings from 1980-1988 on the progeny of more than 210 sires from three straightbred Brahman and one crossbred herd (Brahman or SahiwalxBritish breeds) in the Australian tropics. 200 day weight averaged 192 kg, very slightly less than 200 day weight in temperate Australia with similar phenotypic variance of 520 kg2. Mean 550, 700, and 900 day weights of 310, 350 and 450 kg and phenotypic variances of 800, 800 and 1485 kg2 were lower than in temperate regions at the same ages. Direct heritabilities for weight averaged 41% in the Brahmans and 31% in the crossbred herd. Genetic correlations amongst 200 day and later weights were 81-92%, except for an estimate of 63% between 200 and 900 day weights. Estimates of heritabilities for maternal effects were quite high in the crossbred herd for 200 and 365 day weights (19 and 14%), but only 4-5% for Brahmans. Models and statistical analyses are discussed and results compared with other published estimates from subtropical and temperate regions.

e19032 Background: Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most prevalent subtype of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). One third of DLBCLs cases have a primary extranodal origin and head and neck localization is second most common localization after gastrointestinal tract. The Revised-International Prognostic Index (r-IPI) is commonly used as prognostic tool, but there is growing evidence that neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) also has prognostic significance in DLBCL. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed all cases of extranodal DLBCLs diagnosed between 2006 and 2016 at a single academic institution. Collected data included race, gender, primary site, baseline laboratory data, IPI score, pathology, treatment and survival. Results: A total of 33 patient were included, with 18 (54.5%) being females. Median age at diagnosis was 68 (range 28-92). 15% of patients had a r-IPI of 0, 30% a r-IPI of 1-2, 12% a rIPI of 3-5 and 36% a not evaluable (NE) r-IPI. Twelve (36%) patients had germinal center B cell subtype (GCB) and 17 (51%) patients had activated B cell subtype (ABC) by immunohistochemistry. Among all patients, 13 (39%) had pretreatment NLR equal or more than 3.5 and 11 (33%) patients had NLR less than 3.5 and 9 patients had a NE NLR. . Among deceased patients, 5 (56%) of them had NLR of more that 3.5 (p =0.011). Nine (27%) patients had pretreatment monocyte count less than 700/mm3 and 14 (42%) patients had monocyte count at least 700/mm3 (p=0.611). The 2-year overall survival was 77% (95% CI 0.61 - 0.93). Conclusions: (R-IPI) is the most common tool to predict outcome in DLBCL and our study showed that pretreatment NLR can be used as additional poor prognosis marker for patients with extranodal DLBCL of the head and neck. Abstract A combination of nuclear and chloroplast simple sequence repeats (SSRs) have been used to investigate the levels and pattern of variability detected in Glycine max and G. soja genotypes. Based on the analysis of 700 soybean genotypes with 115 restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) probes, 12 accessions were identified that represent 92% of the allelic variability detected in this genepool. These 12 core genotypes together with a sample of G. max and G. soja accessions were evaluated with 11 nuclear SSRs that detected 129 alleles. Compared with the other G. max and G. soja genotypes sampled, the core genotypes represent 40% of the allelic variability detected with SSRs. Despite the multi-allelic nature of soybean SSRs, dendrograms representing phenetic relationships between accessions clustered according to their subspecies origin. In addition to biparentally inherited nuclear SSRs, two uniparentally (maternally) transmitted chloroplast SSRs were also studied. A total of seven haplotypes were identified, and diversity indices of 0.405 ± 0.088 and 0.159 ± 0.071 were obtained for the two chloroplast SSRs. The availability of polymorphic SSR loci in the chloroplast genome provides new opportunities to investigate cytonuclear interactions in plants.

This study presents the results of treatment of 98 patients with risk of development of severe coronavirus disease (hereinafter COVID-19) with the first positive result of polymerase chain reaction test for SARS-CoV-2 in a day clinic of the multidisciplinary Z.A. Bashlyaeva Children’s Municipal Clinical Hospital. To prevent the clinical manifestation of COVID-19 and the progression of the main disease all these children were treated with virus-neutralizing monoclonal antibodies (sotrovimab 500 mg dissolved in 92 mL of 0.9% sodium chloride solution intravenously for 30 minutes, once, for children over 12 years old and with body weight over 12 kg; balanivimab 700 mg + etesivimab 1400 mg pre-dissolved in 250 mL of 0.9% sodium chloride solution intravenously for 30 minutes, once). Patients underwent a comprehensive clinical, laboratory and instrumental examination both initially and in dynamics for 3–7–11 days after therapy according to the developed clinical algorithm. The effectiveness of biological therapy in children with a risk of severe COVID-19 was noted in 100% of cases. None of the observed patients had either a clinical manifestation of COVID-19 or a relapse of the main chronic disease.

За последние годы во многих регионах Российской Федерации достигнуты заметные успехи по увеличению среднего удоя и соответственно производства молока. Существенную роль в выборе направления селекции сыграло интенсивное использование голштинского скота в основном американской и канадской селекций. Потребовался не один десяток лет, чтобы реально проанализировать и оценить все плюсы и минусы данного приема и выработать соответствующее отношение к данной проблеме. Однако на определенном этапе стали проявляться издержки, которые поставили под сомнение эффективность селекции только по величине удоя и только за счет использования быков-производителей голштинской породы. Эффективность селекции отечественного красного степного скота в условиях юга России в значительной степени снижается из-за упрощения в вопросах отбора и подбора, в первую очередь в племенных хозяйствах. Исследования проводили в 2 племенных репродукторах красной степной породы Кабардино-Балкарии: дойное стадо — 700 и 960 голов, средний удой на корову — 6500 и 5600 кг/год с содержанием 3,93 и 3,95 % жира, выход телят — 92 и 84 голов на 100 коров соответственно. Для выявления генетически более ценных генотипов, получения крепкого, продуктивного потомства, хорошо приспособленного к условиям зоны разведения, с относительно длительным продуктивным долголетием, оценку и отбор целесообразно проводить по индексу общей ценности, с учетом корреляций между признаками как по фенотипу, так и генотипу.

AbstractA ground-based radar has been used successfully for monitoring calving events and velocities at Kronebreen, Svalbard, for two test seasons in 2007 and 2008. We use daily terrestrial optical photogrammetry and continuous visual observation to validate the interpretation of a 116 hour ground-based radar amplitude of return signal data recorded from 26 to 30 August 2008. The radar was placed –4 km from the glacier. It measured at high temporal rate (2 Hz) and the antenna lobe covered a width of –700 m of the front. The calving-front geometry was extracted from the optical images, and its effect on radar backscatter, together with the movement of the glacier, was identified in the plot of the amplitude of the radar return signal. Calving events were detected applying an automated change-detection technique to the radar dataset. This technique allowed us to detect 92% of the events that were observed during the same time. In this paper, we focus on the method rather than on data interpretation. However, future use of this method, combined with meteorological data, tides and ocean temperature, will be valuable for calving-process studies.

This single-blind, double-dummy, multicentre study compared oral azithromycin, administered as tablets, 500 mg once daily for 3 days, versus oral pivampicillin, 700 mg twice daily for 10 days, in adults with acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis (not needing parenteral antibiotic therapy, hospitalization or oxygen support). Clinical success (cure + improvement) rates were similar for both groups at the end of treatment (day 10; azithromycin, 124 of 133 [93%]; pivampicillin, 79 of 92 [86%]) and at follow-up (day 52; 98 of 126 [78%] versus 66 of 81 [81%]). The treatments produced similar levels of pathogen eradication at the end of treatment (49 of 54 [91%] versus 32 of 37 [86%]). Azithromycin-treated patients had significantly reduced chest discomfort at the end of treatment, and a trend towards improved lung function. The two groups were similar with respect to improvements in other clinical symptoms and patient well-being, and to the incidences of adverse events and treatment discontinuations. This oral azithromycin regime is an effective treatment for acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, similar in efficacy to the longer pivampicillin regime and may offer superior patient compliance.

SUMMARYA total of 755 highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART)-naive HIV-infected patients were enrolled at a government hospital in Thailand from 1 June 2000 to 15 October 2002. Census date of survival was on 31 October 2004 or the date of HAART initiation. Of 700 (92·6%) patients with complete data, the prevalence of hepatitis B virus (HBV) surface antigen and anti-hepatitis C virus (HCV) antibody positivity was 11·9% and 3·3%, respectively. Eight (9·6%) HBV co-infected patients did not have anti-HBV core antibody (anti-HBcAb). During 1166·7 person-years of observation (pyo), 258 (36·9%) patients died [22·1/100 pyo, 95% confidence interval (CI) 16·7–27·8]. HBV and probably HCV co-infection was associated with a higher mortality with adjusted hazard ratios (aHRs) of 1·81 (95% CI 1·30–2·53) and 1·90 (95% CI 0·98–3·69), respectively. Interestingly, HBV co-infection without anti-HBc Ab was strongly associated with death (aHR 6·34, 95% CI 3·99–10·3). The influence of hepatitis co-infection on the natural history of HAART-naive HIV patients requires greater attention.

Field experiments were established in 1991 and 1992 on silty clay and sandy loam soils to evaluate various split rates of early PPI and PRE (to soybean) selective herbicides with and without paraquat for sicklepod and pitted morningglory control in stale seedbed soybean. Metribuzin at 360 g ai/ha plus 60 g ai/ha chlorimuron tank-mixed with 700 g ai/ha paraquat controlled sicklepod and pitted morningglory 83 and 91%, respectively, 4 wk after planting. Without paraquat, sicklepod and pitted morningglory control was only 65% and 67%, respectively. Imazaquin at 140 g/ha PRE tank-mixed with paraquat controlled sicklepod 78% and pitted morningglory 92%. Without paraquat, control was 38% and 84%, respectively. Early PPI applications of metribuzin plus chlorimuron or imazaquin at the full rate alone or followed by paraquat at planting resulted in poor control. With sequential treatments (PPI followed by PRE) the addition of paraquat at planting did not usually improve control, and either imazaquin or metribuzin plus chlorimuron provided equivalent control when compared with the full rate of either herbicide applied PRE. Season-long weed control was not obtained with any treatment in any experiment, and the crop was not harvestable.

The results of underwater observations and sampling of krill (Euphausia superba) in the western Weddell Sea during the joint Russian-USA Ice Station Weddell-1 Expedition (11 February–9 June 1992) are presented. Krill was sampled from the same large ice floe composed of both 1- and 2-year ice as it drifted northward for a distance of c. 700 km. Abundance estimates for krill under this floe were in the range 0.1–6.25 ind m−2. Krill aggregate in areas where rafting of ice floes and formation of new ice occur, or around a protected diving hole. The krill sampled consisted mainly of furcilia 6 and post-larvae which did not belong to the 0+ group originating in this (1991–92) year, but presumably hatched in the summer season of 1990–91 and developed very slowly so that at the end of the following summer season, larval stages were still present in the population. No increase of the mean krill size was observed during 2.5 months of observation. The role of larval advection for the maintenance of krill population in the Weddell Sea is discussed.

Abstract Northern red oak (Quercus rubra L.), scarlet oak (Q. coccinea Muenchh.), sweetgum (Liquidambar styraciflura L.), and ‘Autumn Flame’ red maple (Acer rubrum L.) liners were produced in copper-treated (100 gm Cu(OH)2/1 white latex paint) or untreated black plastic 3.8 1 containers (Lerio C-700) in 1989. In spring 1990, liners were transplanted into field plots. Half the liners produced in untreated containers were root pruned just before transplanting, half were not. Liners grown in copper-treated containers were not root pruned before transplanting. Survival percentage was high for all species ranging from 92% for red maple to 65% for scarlet oak. Three years after transplanting, red and scarlet oak liners produced in copper-treated containers had higher survival rates (but not statistically significant) and greater regrowth (taller, greater trunk caliper and percent central leader formation) than liners produced in untreated containers, whether root pruned or not before transplanting. Regrowth of red maple and sweetgum were not affected by container type used during liner production. The study demonstrates species differences to transplanting; each species responds to transplant via a unique combination of growth characteristics. Transplant responses are expressed up to three years after transplanting.

Eight lines of common wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) carrying mutations in the three homoeologous waxy loci, Wx-A1, Wx-B1 and Wx-D1, have been classified by near-infrared (NIR) and Raman spectroscopy combined with chemometrics. Sample spectra from wheat seeds were collected by using a NIR spectrometer in the wave rage 1600–2400 nm, and then Raman spectrometer in the wave range 700–2000 cm–1. All samples were split randomly into a calibration sample set containing 284 seeds (~35 seeds per line) and a validation sample set containing the remaining 92 seeds. Classification of these samples was undertaken by discriminant analysis combined with principal component analysis (PCA) based on the raw spectra processed by appropriate pre-treatment methods. The classification results by discriminant analysis indicated that the percentage of correctly identified samples by NIR spectroscopy was 84.2% for the calibration set and 84.8% for the validation set, and by Raman spectroscopy 94.4% and 94.6%, respectively. The results demonstrated that Raman spectroscopy combined with chemometrics as a rapid method is superior to NIR spectroscopy in classifying eight partial waxy wheat lines with different waxy proteins.
