Resumo:

We assessed vaccination coverage rates among children born between 1989 and 1994 [0-2 years of age]and tried to find the underlying causes of incomplete immunization. Of 662 children surveyed, 326 were from Tikrit city [urban]and 336 were from three rural villages. The coverage rates for BCG, DPT-OPV [first dose], DPT-OPV [second dose], DPT-OPV [third dose], measles, MMR, and DPT-OPV [first booster]were 97%, 97%, 94%, 92%, 83%, 70% and 59% respectively in Tikrit city; in rural areas they were 92%, 65%, 57%, 41%, 42%, 32%, and 25% respectively. The most common causes of incomplete immunization were unawareness and ignorance for both urban and rural areas. The percentage of children completely immunized declined between 1989 and 1994, both in urban and rural areas

Resumo:

تهتم هذه الدراسة من خلال السؤال المطروح في المشكلة البحثية بالتعرف على اهم المقومات الطبيعية للسياحة في ليبيا ، و توضيح الكيفية التي تتوزع بها تسهيلات الطلب السياحي وابراز الاتجاه العام الذي خلفه هذا التوزيع ، كما اعتمدت الدراسة في مناقشتها للموضوع على مجموعة من المناهج تهدف في مجملها الى توضيح التطور التاريخي للظاهرة وتكوين تصور ذهني متكامل عن خصائصها من خلال وصفها ومقارنة مفرداتها لاكتشاف الاختلافات المكانية في توزيعها وخصائصها ، وبعد معالجة البيانات بالأساليب الاحصائية و المكانية توصلت الدراسة الى مجموعة من النتائج التي تبين من خلالها ان المناطق الشمالية المطلة على البحر المتوسط أكثر ملائمة من الناحية المناخية لحركة السياحة في أغلب فترات السنة ، بينما نجد أن المناطق الصحراوية يمكن أن تكون ملائمة مناخيا لحركة النشاط السياحي في فصل الشتاء ، حيث تتراوح درجات الحرارة بين ( 18.2 م◦- 16.2 م◦) ، و تتراوح نسبة الرطوبة بين (%17-52% ).، اما بالنسبة لأعداد السياح القادمين من خارج البلاد يلاحظ ان اكبر عدد تم تسجيله في سنة 1998 والذي بلغ 919000 مسافر ، اما اقل عدد فقد تم تسجيله في سنة 2002 والذي بلغ 20075 مسافر، اما بالنسبة للطاقة الفندقية في ليبيا فقد بدأت في التطور منذ منتصف الستينات ، ففي سنة 1964 بلغ عدد الفنادق54 فندقا ، استمرت الزيادة في عدد الفنادق لتبلغ 326 فندقا وذلك في سنة 2018 ، اما بالنسبة لاتجاهات حركة السياحة الدولية إلى ليبيا فهي شملت جميع القارات موزعة على 92 دولة حسب احصائية 2008م مع تفاوت حجم كل اتجاه.، حيث تأتي قارة أوروبا في مقدمة الدول المصدرة للسياح إلى ليبيا بعدد 92 دولة أوربية و بعدد 38658 سائح و بنسبة 92% من اجمالي السياح القادمين إلى ليبيا ، ثم قارة أسيا بعدد 20 دولة أسيوية ، العدد الأكبر من الأفواج السياحية تفضل المناطق الساحلية عن الصحراوية إلا أن التفاوت ليس بالكبير.

Resumo:

Este trabalho tem por objetivo apresentar uma nova abordagem mini-invasiva das Hemorróidas Mistas, a Hemorroidectomia Híbrida, que consiste na associação da Ligadura Elástica (LE) das Hemorróidas Internas com a ressecção complementar dos Plicomas Externos sob anestesia local. Num universo de 326 cirurgias orificiais realizadas na Proctoclínica num período de 4 anos, 300 (92%) foram submetidos a procedimentos mini-invasivos, 223 (68,40%) foram submetidos a LE como tratamento exclusivo e 77 (23,60%) à Hemoirroidectomia Híbrida) e 26 (8%) foram submetidos a outros procedimentos cirúrgicos (Hemorroidectomias a Milligan-Morgan, Fistulectomias etc. A abordagem proposta permite absenteísmo mínimo ao trabalho, mini-invasividade e baixa morbidade pós-operatória, ressaltando-se ainda a realização ambulatorial, excelente tolerabilidade e baixos custos.

Resumo:

The reliability of biomechanical measurements of the lower extremities, as they are commonly used in podiatric practice, was quantified by means of intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs). This was done not only to evaluate interrater and intrarater reliability but also to provide an estimate for the accuracy of the measurements. The measurement protocol involved 30 asymptomatic subjects and five raters of varying experience. Each subject was measured twice by the same rater, with the retest immediately following the test. The study demonstrated that the interrater ICCs were quite low (≤0.51), except for the measurements of relaxed calcaneal stance position and forefoot varus (both 0.61 and 0.62 for left and right, respectively). However, the intrarater ICCs were relatively high (>0.8) for most raters and measurement variables. Measurement accuracy was moderate between raters. (J Am Podiatr Med Assoc 92(6): 317-326, 2002)

Resumo:

Background: Indonesia is facing COVID-19 waves in almost all provinces. Based on data from the COVID-19 Response Acceleration Task Force, there were 57 districts with a compliance level of wearing a mask by less than 60%, while 51 districts had a compliance level of keeping distance and avoiding crowds by less than 60%. Objective: The aim of this study is to analyze the effect of the Health Promotion Model (HPM) in increasing people’s compliance level on the implementation of COVID-19 health protocols. Methods: Quasi-experiment with a single-group interrupted time-series design was conducted in June-September 2021 in West Lombok district and Central Lombok district, West Nusa Tenggara Province. The samples were 326 respondents from purposive sampling with criteria: adult group or elderly of the healthy category and not being positively confirmed of COVID-19. Results: There was a significant effect of HPM in increasing people’s compliance level on the implementation of the health protocols (5M) measured by the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test (p-value <0,05). The health protocols (5M) included wearing a mask (p=0,000), keeping distance (p=0,000), cleaning hands (p=0,000), avoiding crowds (p=0,000), and reducing mobility (p=0,000). Conclusion: The Health Promotion Model (HPM) is a strategy to conduct health promotion activities that can influence the attitudes and behaviors of community groups marked by increasing knowledge and awareness of people in the Lombok area for the implementation of the 5M COVID-19 health protocols.

Resumo:

Tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV) has become the most serious problem in flue-cured tobacco in Georgia and is a growing problem in other tobacco-growing areas in the United States. The effects of transplant age (6 to 10 weeks), tobacco cultivar (K-326 and NC-71), and preplant applications of acibenzolar-S-methyl (ASM) and the insecticide imidacloprid (IMD) were evaluated on levels of TSWV infection, number of symptomatic plants, and yield in field trials over 4 years. In all 4 years and in four of five trials, treatment of transplants with ASM and IMD resulted in fewer symptomatic plants, smaller areas under the disease progress curve (AUDPC), and higher yields compared with the nontreated controls. There were no consistent effects of transplant age or cultivar on number of symptomatic plants or systemic infections, AUDPC, or yield. Treatment of transplants with ASM and IMD can significantly reduce the number of symptomatic plants in the field and substantially increase yields and value per hectare.

ObjectiveIn this study, we describe the pattern of bed occupancy across England during the peak of the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.DesignDescriptive survey.SettingAll non-specialist secondary care providers in England from 27 March27to 5 June 2020.ParticipantsAcute (non-specialist) trusts with a type 1 (ie, 24 hours/day, consultant-led) accident and emergency department (n=125), Nightingale (field) hospitals (n=7) and independent sector secondary care providers (n=195).Main outcome measuresTwo thresholds for ‘safe occupancy’ were used: 85% as per the Royal College of Emergency Medicine and 92% as per NHS Improvement.ResultsAt peak availability, there were 2711 additional beds compatible with mechanical ventilation across England, reflecting a 53% increase in capacity, and occupancy never exceeded 62%. A consequence of the repurposing of beds meant that at the trough there were 8.7% (8508) fewer general and acute beds across England, but occupancy never exceeded 72%. The closest to full occupancy of general and acute bed (surge) capacity that any trust in England reached was 99.8% . For beds compatible with mechanical ventilation there were 326 trust-days (3.7%) spent above 85% of surge capacity and 154 trust-days (1.8%) spent above 92%. 23 trusts spent a cumulative 81 days at 100% saturation of their surge ventilator bed capacity (median number of days per trust=1, range: 1–17). However, only three sustainability and transformation partnerships (aggregates of geographically co-located trusts) reached 100% saturation of their mechanical ventilation beds.ConclusionsThroughout the first wave of the pandemic, an adequate supply of all bed types existed at a national level. However, due to an unequal distribution of bed utilisation, many trusts spent a significant period operating above ‘safe-occupancy’ thresholds despite substantial capacity in geographically co-located trusts, a key operational issue to address in preparing for future waves.

Aquesta investigació té l’objectiu de fer una aportació singular i original en el camp de la comunicació humana. Contempla l'estudi del cas de «la Cerimònia Inaugural dels Jocs Olímpics de Barcelona'92» per tal d’entendre el disseny de la seva «enginyeria ritual», descobrir la seva semàntica interna, la relació amb els diferents moments en el desenvolupament dels Jocs Olímpics i també vol aprofundir en el coneixement de la realitat ritual contemporània. La investigació de la ritualitat integra coneixements i conceptes procedents de diverses ciències socials com són la teoria de la comunicació, la sociologia, l'antropologia, la psicologia i la història. La tesi s'estructura en tres parts. A la primera part exposo les principals aportacions teòriques sobre els Jocs Olímpics, la ritualitat i la comunicació ritual. A la segona part, plantejo els aspectes essencials de la metodologia i presento els resultats obtinguts. A la tercera part, al costat de la síntesi sobre la dimensió cultural dels Jocs Olímpics i de com es va construir i estructurar la Cerimònia Inaugural, presento una anàlisi de la Cerimònia mitjançant un sistema de franges comunicatives que contempla les següents variables: música , públic, comunicació verbal, escenografia i cinèsia. A les Conclusions, considerant la ritualitat com un producte comunicatiu i una eina d'implicació i influència social, exposo els principals resultats de la recerca en relació a la dimensió ritual dels Jocs Olímpics i de la Cerimònia Inaugural dels Jocs de Barcelona. El coneixement del llenguatge ritual ens permet comprendre millor el context sociocultural en què vivim i valorar l'eficàcia de la ritualitat contemporània en un món globalitzat.
Esta investigación tiene por objeto hacer una aportación singular y original en el campo de la comunicación humana. Parte del estudio realizado sobre «la Ceremonia Inaugural de los Juegos Olímpicos de Barcelona’92» con el objetivo de entender el diseño de su «ingeniería ritual», descubrir su semántica interna, su relación con los distintos momentos en el desarrollo de los Juegos Olímpicos y también profundizar en la comprensión de la realidad ritual contemporánea. La investigación de la ritualidad integra conocimientos y conceptos procedentes de diversas ciencias sociales como son la teoría de la comunicación, la sociología, la antropología, la psicología y la historia. La investigación se estructura en tres partes. En la primera parte presento las principales aportaciones teóricas sobre los Juegos Olímpicos, la ritualidad y la comunicación ritual. En la segunda parte, planteo los aspectos esenciales de la metodología y presento los resultados obtenidos en el trabajo de campo. En la tercera parte, junto a la síntesis sobre la dimensión cultural de los Juegos Olímpicos y de cómo se construyó y se estructuró la Ceremonia Inaugural, presento un análisis de la Ceremonia mediante un sistema de franjas comunicativas que contempla las siguientes variables: música, público, comunicación verbal, escenografía y cinesia. En las Conclusiones, considerando la ritualidad como un producto comunicativo y una herramienta de implicación e influencia social, expongo los principales resultados de la investigación en relación a la dimensión ritual de los Juegos Olímpicos y de la Ceremonia Inaugural de los Juegos de Barcelona. El conocimiento del lenguaje ritual nos permite comprender mejor el contexto sociocultural en el que vivimos y valorar la eficacia de la ritualidad contemporánea en un mundo globalizado.
This research aims to make a unique and original contribution in the field of human communication. Part of the study carried out on "the Inaugural Ceremony of the Olympic Games of Barcelona'92" with the aim of understanding the design of its "ritual engineering", discovering its internal semantics, its relationship with the different moments in the development of the Olympic Games and also to deepen the understanding of contemporary ritual reality. The investigation of rituality integrates knowledge and concepts from various social sciences such as communication theory, sociology, anthropology, psychology and history. The investigation is structured in three parts. In the first part I present the main theoretical contributions about the Olympic Games, rituality and ritual communication. In the second part, I outline the essential aspects of the methodology and present the results obtained in the fieldwork. In the third part, together with the synthesis on the cultural dimension of the Olympic Games and how the Inaugural Ceremony was built and structured, I present an analysis of the Ceremony through a system of communicative fringes that includes the following variables: music, public , verbal communication, scenography and kinesics. In the Conclusions, considering rituality as a communicative product and a tool for social involvement and influence, I present the main results of the research in relation to the ritual dimension of the Olympic Games and the Opening Ceremony of the Barcelona Games. The knowledge of ritual language allows us to better understand the sociocultural context in which we live and assess the effectiveness of contemporary ritual in a globalized world.

This chapter examines Twelver Shī‘ī scholarly treatments of martyrdom, with a particular focus on historical and theological discussions surrounding the figure of the Imām. Shī‘ī scholars attempted to reconcile two potentially contradictory positions: (1) a maximalist notion of the Imām’s knowledge; and (2) a belief that many (if not all) of the Imāms were murdered by their enemies. If both of these premises are true, then is an Imām ultimately complicit in his own death? If he takes no steps to avoid his own murder, then is this suicide? This chapter addresses these questions through a case study centered on the seventh Twelver Shī‘ī Imām, Mūsā al-Kāẓim (d. 183/799) as discussed by three early Shī‘a scholars: Muḥammad b. al-Ḥasan al-Ṣaffār al-Qummī (d. 290/902–03); Muḥammad b. Ya‘qūb al-Kulaynī (d. 329/940–41); and Ibn Bābawayh (d. 381/991–92).

Resumo:

Successful compressor aerodynamic performance can be achieved by satisfactory completion of requirements in the following three areas: aerodynamic design quality of blading manufacturing and assembly of the components Using presently available computer programs capable of doing detailed three dimensional analysis of the flow field, it is possible to obtain excellent aerodynamic designs exceeding 90% isentropic efficiency. When the design requirements are deviated from the manufacturing process, the result will be less than optimum performance, for example: inadequate surge margin, lowered efficiency, reduced mass flow, etc. may be experienced. Different types of manufacturing deviations and their effect on compressor performance are analysed in the paper by means of empirical formulas and considerations.

Resumo:

This paper describes the historical data for gas turbine driven compressor and power generation packages built for the North Sea. The period surveyed spans from the start-up of Ekofisk to the present day. The paper covers 60 platforms in the Norwegian and UK sectors and a number in the Danish and Dutch sectors. The data gathered for each platform include details of gas turbines, compressors, gearboxes, couplings, tube and seat oil systems, skid arrangements, air filtration systems, exhaust systems and so forth. In total, approximately 320 electric power generating sets and 380 compressors are included, representing 5.5 million kW. The trend over the survey period is found from the recorded data, and a comparison is made between the Norwegian and UK sectors.

Resumo:

Numerical predictions are reported of two-dimensional unsteady flow in a linear turbine cascade, where the unsteadiness is caused by passing wakes generated by the preceding row of blades. In particular, an experiment is simulated in which the passing wakes were generated by cylinders moving on a rotating squirrel cage. Blade-to-blade calculations were carried out by solving the unsteady 2D flow equations with an accurate finite-volume procedure, thereby resolving the periodic unsteady motion. The effects of stochastic turbulent fluctuations are simulated with a two-layer turbulence model, in which the standard k-ε model is applied in the bulk of the flow and a one-equation model in the near-wall region. This involves also a transition model based on an empirical formula due to Abu-Ghannam and Shaw (1980), which was adapted for the unsteady situation by applying it in a Lagrangean way, following fluid parcels in the boundary layer underneath disturbed and undisturbed free stream on their travel downstream. The calculations are compared with experiments for various wake-passing frequencies. On the whole, the complex unsteady flow behaviour is simulated realistically, including the moving forward of transition when the wake-passing frequency increases, but not all details can be reproduced.

Resumo:

Hot gas path components of current generation, liquid fuel rocket engine turbopumps (T/P) are exposed to severe thermal shock, extremely high heat fluxes, corrosive atmospheres and erosive flows. These conditions, combined with high operating stresses, are severely degradative to conventional materials. Advanced turbomachinery (T/M) applications will impose harsher demands on the turbine materials. These demands include higher turbine inlet temperature for improved performance and efficiency, lighter weight for improved thrust-to-weight ratio, and longer life for reduced maintenance of re-usable engines. Conventional materials are not expected to meet these demands, and fiber-reinforced ceramic matrix composites (FRCMC) have been identified as candidate materials for these applications. This paper summarizes rocket engine T/M needs, reviews the properties and capabilities of FRCMC, identifies candidate FRCMC materials and assesses their potential benefits, and summarizes the status of FRCMC component development with respect to advanced liquid fuel rocket engine T/M applications.

Los datos de la encuesta de hogares para el trimestre móvil que finalizó en febrero muestran que el crecimiento anual del empleo se está desacelerando y que sus niveles se mantienen estables. Aunque el empleo aumentó en un 3,6% en términos anuales, lo que equivale a 768.000 nuevos puestos de trabajo, en los últimos meses la ocupación se ha mantenido relativamente estable. En particular, la ocupación rural detuvo la caída observada en la segunda mitad de 2022 y la urbana dejó de crecer. El segmento asalariado lidera la creación anual de empleo, pero sus niveles son similares, comparados con los de enero, mientras que el no asalariado mostró un ligero repunte. Un comportamiento similar se observa entre el empleo formal y el informal, lo que implicó un leve aumento de la tasa de informalidad hasta un nivel del 57,4%. Esta ralentización de la ocupación asalariada y formal también se observa en otras fuentes de información, como los trabajadores dependientes cotizantes a pensión y los afiliados a riesgos laborales y a cajas de compensación familiar. Además, es consistente con la relativa estabilidad que muestran las vacantes y las expectativas de contratación, que han frenado el deterioro observado durante el último trimestre de 2022. Por el lado de la oferta laboral, las tasas de participación laboral mantienen registros similares a los observados durante los últimos meses, lo que ha reducido la presión que ejercían al alza sobre la variación anual de la tasa de desempleo (TD). En cuanto al desempleo, la TD del agregado nacional se ubicó en el 11% en el trimestre móvil que finalizó en febrero, corrigiendo las leves subidas que había registrado en los últimos meses, principalmente debido al retroceso de la TD rural. Se espera que, en promedio en 2023, la TD nacional se ubique entre el 9,8% y 12,2%, con el 11% como la cifra más probable, lo que implica una senda temporal con ligeros aumentos de la TD en el transcurso de 2023. Esta previsión, unida al comportamiento reciente de las tasas de vacantes, sugiere que, si bien el mercado laboral se mantiene estrecho, esto tendería a desvanecerse en el transcurso del año. Las estimaciones de una tasa de desempleo que no acelera la inflación (Nairu, por su sigla en inglés) confirman este diagnóstico, pues, pese a que la brecha de la TD es aún negativa (-1,2 pp para el primer trimestre de 2023), esta se cerraría en el transcurso del año. Así, las presiones inflacionarias vía costos salariales producidas desde la dinámica propia del mercado laboral se atenuarían, aunque podrían persistir las provenientes desde el campo regulatorio, en particular por los ajustes salariales iguales al del salario mínimo (SM). Estas últimas presiones no serían despreciables en la medida en que en 2022 una mayor proporción del total de los ajustes salariales en la economía estuvo determinada por el incremento en el SM, frente a lo que se observaba antes de la pandemia. Como es usual, este reporte se divide en dos secciones. En la primera se profundiza en detalle en los hechos coyunturales del mercado laboral descritos. En la segunda, se describen algunos de los puntos claves del proyecto de reforma laboral radicado por el Gobierno Nacional el pasado 16 de marzo y se ofrece un análisis cuantitativo de sus implicaciones. Particularmente, se estima el incremento que los cambios propuestos generarían sobre el costo laboral promedio, tomando como referencia el mercado laboral en el año 2022. Además, se estima el impacto potencial de dichos cambios sobre el empleo a partir de las elasticidades provenientes de la literatura especializada. Los resultados indican que, de aprobarse la reforma laboral como se radicó, habría incrementos del costo laboral promedio asociados tanto al componente salarial como al de las indemnizaciones en casos de despidos injustificados. Por el primer componente, el incremento en el costo laboral promedio oscilaría entre 3,2 % y 10,7 %, y por el segundo, entre 1,2% y 1,9 %, producto de un aumento de 92% del valor promedio de las indemnizaciones. Además, dichas estimaciones tienen importantes heterogeneidades sectoriales y por tamaño de empresa. El aumento de los costos salariales recortaría alrededor de 450.000 empleos formales en un horizonte entre tres y cuatro años, mientras que el incremento de los costos de despido podría tener un impacto en un horizonte más largo. Dichos cálculos no consideran los posibles beneficios para los empleados incumbentes, que se reflejarían en una mayor estabilidad laboral o de mejoras en el acceso al sistema de protección social. Así, se concluye que se tienen efectos heterogéneos en los distintos agentes y segmentos del mercado laboral, por lo que cuantificaciones de costos y de sus implicaciones como la acá realizada son útiles para contrastar los posibles beneficios de la reforma propuesta con sus costos.
