Streszczenie:
We usually use a set of ideas, thinking paradigms and judgment rules, including alternatives, criteria, outcomes, preferences, to make decision. This set, known as actual domain (working knowledge) of habitual domain, will be stabilized over time unless extraordinary events occur. As such, our working knowledge cannot be broad and deep. Inevitably, we could get into decision traps, which lead us to making wrong decision or solving wrong problems. The actual domain is only a small part of our potential domain, the collection of all thoughts, ideas, thinking paradigms, etc. that have ever been encoded in our brain. In this paper, we will describe nine principles for deep knowledge, so that, we could expand and enrich our working knowledge by utilizing the potential domains of ourselves and other participants in the decision making. As a consequence, good ideas for solving challenging decision problems can be obtained or created. These principles are: The deep and down principle, the alternating principle, the contrasting and complementing principle, the revolving and cycling principle, the inner connection principle, the changing and transforming principle, the contradiction principle, the cracking and ripping principle, the void principle.

This paper is concerned with ethical issues in the practice and administration of tests. Some broad principles related to the knowledge required for test usage are described, together with the skills necessary for competent test use. Ethical practice in relation to test users, training in testing, test administration, test interpretation and test instruments is also examined. The focus then changes to a consideration of the more general ethical principles that apply to professional practice and are equally applicable to testing. A final section examines the relevance of these issues for career guidance practitioners and also some recent professional developments that will encourage ethical practice in testing

Streszczenie:
Abstract In this Forum article, we discuss issues emerging from utilizing two significant theoretical constructs, Funds of Knowledge and Cultural Capital, in the field of second/multilingual language studies. Some similar underlying characteristics yet opposite perspectives surrounding the concepts and theoretical applications have confused researchers and practitioners. Hence, we address three major issues related to social class-based knowledge distinction, little consideration of diversity and agency, and lack of empirical evidence on the convertibility and transferability of knowledges. Through the discussions, we pose important questions to seek diversity and equity of knowledges and urge applied linguists to raise their critical awareness of recognition and use/exchange value of second/multilingual learners’ resources and knowledges.
